When you think about all the things you could buy for over $100,000, it seems absurd to spend so much money on one dinner.
Which is why renowned chef, Salt Bae – real name is Nusret Gökçe – has been criticised after he shared a receipt of the extravagant meal on social media.
In a post on Instagram, Salt Bae shared a picture of a check from his Dubai restaurant at the Four Seasons which totalled 398630 UAE dirham ($108,000).
The customer had managed to spend more than a year’s salary – or the price of a house – on the luxe meal, and people were pretty horrified.
Now, we know that Salt Bae’s restaurants come with a hefty price tag, after all, the chef has previously made headlines due to the high prices at his restaurants.
But people were left in awe when they saw the itemised receipt, which revealed exactly how much all of the food and drink totalled.
The check listed everything the customers had ordered during their meal, including $13 fries and three ‘Golden Steaks’, which totalled almost $1,400.

The customers also indulged in drinks including four porn star martinis ($130), two bottles of Chateau Petrus 2009 ($53,900), one bottle of Petrus 2011 ($17,700) and five double glasses of the exclusive Louis XIII cognac neat ($7,500).
The meal didn’t stop there, with the check revealing 11 ‘Golden Baklava’ desserts for $1,250.
By the time a tip of $24,500 had been added, the bill was way beyond what most people would expect to pay for a meal.
Alongside the photo, Salt Bae wrote: “Money comes money goes.”

But people were pretty horrified in the comments, with one writing: “Who tf is spending $40k on a dinner?!!!” while another said: “And you guys think this is normal 100k for dinner??!!”
And a third added: “I can probably grill and cook a steak the size of what he does for about 30 bucks and make it taste even better. Gold covered stuff is just wasting money there’s literally no health purpose and literally you can save that money.”
Another said it was ‘the most overpriced restaurant’.
