Singer George, 36, previously opened up to fans about needing to undergo emergency surgery to have a pacemaker fitted after doctors discovered he was suffering from a heart condition which had caused his BPM to plummet.

The health woes didn’t end there either as George needed to undergo a lung biopsy due to enlarged lymph nodes in the area, before doctors discovered he would need further surgery due to complications with his pacemaker.

Finally on the end, the singer has now opened up about his health ordeal in a new interview with The Sun, revealing the results of his lung biopsy and why he needed further heart surgery.

“I was trying to get back to good health but was still having a flickering sensation for weeks after I had my pacemaker fitted and it was gradually getting worse and worse,” he explained.

“When my heart rate went up, it was causing a shock in my heart which was making me jump all the time. My chest was shaking.”

The cause of his post surgery discomfort would be uncovered after George was admitted to hospital, when a representative for his pacemaker company revealed the wires had been inserted ‘too deeply’ into his heart.

He then underwent a second heart-op to correct the issue, after being warned that he was at risk of bleeding out during the surgery.

“I was worried it could go wrong again and felt anxious that it could bleed out,” Max recalled of the situation.

Fortunately his second heart operation was a success, meaning the singer can now focus on recovery. He also received the news that his vocal cords hadn’t been damaged during the lung biopsy and is now focused on returning to his old self again.

“The biopsy was pretty gnarly, it’s a camera with prongs on the end that goes down your throat. It was painful,” he said of the biopsy surgery. “The recovery was tough, I had chest pain and was coughing up blood for five days.”

However, the toughest part of the situation was seeing how it impacted his loved ones, adding that the ordeal had been completely ‘traumatic’ for this mother.

“The worst part for me is seeing my parents go through this. My mum has found it traumatic. I’ve tried to hold back from being upset in front of them,” he said.

“I feel helpless and responsible.”

Deborah Burns has not returned to London’s Homerton University Hospital – where she worked for more than 20 years – since the passing of her 22-year-old William Hewes.

The sporty young lad, who was studying history and politics at university, tragically died in January 2023 after a meningococcal infection led to meningitis, which later developed into sepsis.

Sepsis is a serious condition which occurs when the body responds improperly to an infection, damaging your body’s own tissues and organs, according to the NHS.

An inquest at Bow Coroners’ Court has heard how William passed away within 24 hours of being admitted to Homerton University Hospital.

He arrived at 12.06am before being rushed into the hospital’s resuscitation area, and eventually, he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at around 4am.

On Friday (14 February), the inquest heard how Dr Burns believed that her son was left ‘unmonitored and untreated in resus for far too long’ and that his care ‘was no better in the ICU until it was too late’.

Extracts from the mother’s statement were read at the inquest, while the mum also entered the witness box to tell how her family have lost ‘a mighty human being’.

“The grief will never go away”, Dr Burns told the court. “It is impossible for words to describe adequately the pain of this immense loss and the feelings of betrayal that I feel about William’s death and the aftermath.”

Earlier this week, the inquest heard how medical staff had failed to swiftly administer antibiotics to the 22-year-old, and failed to do so within an hour of his arrival at hospital as per national guidelines.

Medics involved in William’s care said they did not recall his mother raising the issue about her son’s medication to them before he finally received some at 1.25am.

In her statement, Dr Burns said she believes the antibiotics were only administered ‘because she was there’, adding: “I raised concern about the lack of antibiotics eight times before they were administered.”

She explained he originally only had one cannula, via which he received one type of medication at a time – ondansetron, fluid, two doses of morphine and paracetamol.

“By 1.15am I had become desperate and tried to squeeze some of the paracetamol through in order to free up the cannula for the antibiotics,” the consultant paediatrician said.

“From my direct experience as a witness, what I have seen in the notes, on CCTV and in statements, medical staff involved in William’s care failed to observe him in any clinically useful way. He was not himself.

“He was increasingly uncomfortable and agitated, he had poor perfusion with cold peripheries, he had blurred vision on arrival and his vision deteriorated.”

Dr Burns described a ‘scene of chaos’ and ‘a very tense atmosphere’ in the room when the decision was made to intubate William, which she said left her in ‘deep despair’.

“I had a suspicion we would lose him completely as his blood pressure would fall on intubation,” she continued. “It was at this point I decided to call William’s father as I suspected he would never see William again if he didn’t come to the hospital as soon as possible.”

Dr Burns paid tribute to her ‘fiercely intelligent, insightful and very funny’ boy who ‘made people smile just by turning up’.

“The world is a quieter and less vibrant place without him,” she said. “We feel we have lost a mighty human being.”

The inquest heard that Dr Mathuratha Sivasubramaniam, the ICU registrar working the evening William was admitted, was asked to review him multiple times.

She then phoned the ICU consultant on call, Dr Petr Dlouhy, and a decision was made to transfer the young lad to intensive care.

A statement was read out from Dr Sivasubramaniam, who has since moved abroad, which outlined why she initially opted not to admit William to the ICU.

Dr Dlouhy told the court that his colleague ‘should have’ reported William’s condition to him earlier, saying that if she had done, he would have admitted him into ICU at that point.

He told the hearing that he didn’t know whether this would have changed the outcome, however, he accepted that it was likely that some treatments would have begun sooner.

Dr Ron Daniels, founder and chief executive of the UK Sepsis Trust, told the court he believed William was likely to have survived if he had received prompt care.

He said it is ‘perfectly possible’ for non-specialist medical staff to deliver the necessary treatment, and even if the 22-year-old would have still succumbed to his illness, ‘at least we would have had a family who knew that everything had been done and that this was just terrible fate’.

Dr Daniels said doctors should ‘drop everything and absolutely focus with laser sharp priority’ on patients with William’s symptoms.

The inquest into William’s death will resume on 12 March.

Former Playboy model, actress and reality star Wunna, is something of a Naked Attraction legend, after her appearance on the unconventional dating series went viral — due to her revelation about becoming aroused after seeing ‘really good’ junk in the pods.

Which was always inevitable on a show packed with completely nude people looking for love.

However, Wunna has since revealed that she wasn’t the only contestant to get a little too excited while filming, revealing that some of her potential matches had to temporarily leave the set for this exact reason.

Speaking about her experience on the Channel 4 show in an interview with The Daily Star, the 44-year-old reflected on what goes on during filming and essentially confirmed that contestants have ended up getting boners while in the familiar fluorescent pods.

“They had to take a few of them outside, not remove them from the show, because they got a bit too excited,” she said of her potential love interests.

Unfortunately for Wunna, she didn’t personally see any of the downstairs distractions, something which she joked was a ‘disappointment’ for her.

“But no one got one in front of me I was devastated. I wanted them to get hard, I would’ve loved that. I was very disappointed, I didn’t see any boners,” she added.

It would seem that engorged genitals aren’t the only concern for contestants either, as Wunna also revealed that contestants can get pretty cold while standing around in the pods.

“They had to remove them from the pod because they were all really paranoid because the studio was quite cold,” she said.

“People were jogging on the spot and doing the squats and trying to feel cold down there. Then I just walked on down and judged them on it.”

Which all sounds wonderfully romantic.

Since her appearance on Naked Attraction, Wunna has searched for love while clothed on First Dates, built a sizeable following on social media and had small roles in slasher films such as Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare.

Scotty Kilmer is a YouTuber who seems to know quite a bit about cars and has all sorts of advice for his viewers on how to sort things.

He’s a man who reckons you should look to sell your car once it starts clunking as you change gear, though that’ll be a palaver for the buyer.

There are also some ideas he has for what to do in order to preserve your car’s transmission and avoid it getting into a state that needs fixing.

However, this time he’s got something else on his mind.

While he comes across as a somewhat shouty man, it seems as though he does have something important to shout about.

There may be lots of lights on your dashboard but the one he was really interested in this time was your battery light.

He warned that this was actually ‘false advertising’ as cars used to have an ‘ALT’ warning for the vehicle’s alternator, the thing that charges the car’s battery.

When the charging voltage gets too low, that makes the battery light come on to warn the driver that their battery isn’t getting enough charge to keep it running.

Scotty said that just because the battery light comes on it might not mean the problem is with the battery itself and another component could be the cause of the issue.

Nevertheless, if the light comes on while you’re driving then he reckons you need to stop immediately and figure out what the problem is before you go any further.

On the other hand, if the light comes on while your car is idling but switches off once you drive then the battery is ‘getting weak but you can still drive it a while before you have to replace it’.

“So don’t run out and buy a brand new battery just because the battery light is going on, it’s probably not a bad battery, it’s a bad alternator,” he declared to motorists in need of his advice.

This is by no means the only piece of car-related advice he’s given over the years.

Another dashboard light he’s talked about is the ‘check engine’ warning, saying that if it keeps going off and on then it’s likely a minor issue that you don’t have to worry about immediately.

He said he’d ‘seen people spend thousands of dollars trying to track down a problem in their car’ when they had plenty of time to wait for it to get worse, while sometimes they’d even spend big money to replace parts that didn’t need fixing.

That’s not the official advice around the light, however, as the RAC says you ought to get your engine checked as soon as possible if the light comes on.

Savile was posthumously unmasked to be a prolific sex offender in 2012, just a year after he had passed away. It was revealed that Savile had exploited his fame and power throughout his career in order to abuse hundreds of people throughout his life – most of them women and children.

A year after the sickening revelations came to light, Britains Got Talent judge Holden would reveal that she’d encountered Savile while visiting the hospital as a teenager.

Explaining the encounter during an interview with Alan Carr, Holden claimed that she was receiving treatment for an injury to her finger when the Jim’ll Fix It! presenter appeared from behind a curtain and made an inappropriate joke towards her.

“When I was 19 I was cutting a cake and I cut my finger – I’ve still got a scar,” she explained.

“So I went with my then boyfriend to the hospital and they stitched it up and they put a bandage around it… and then this man drew back the curtains and made this flippant remark that I’d tried to take my own life by slicing my finger.

Holden then went on to explain that while she didn’t see herself as a victim of Savile’s, learning about his harrowing crimes had led her to reevaluate the encounter.

“Do you know what?” she added. “I’m saying the story flippantly because, at the time I was a student, and for me it was just like, ‘what a bizarre story’, and I went back to drama school and told everyone and there was no serious weight to it or anything.

“I am not like those poor people that he has…” she trailed off, hinting at some of Savile’s horrific sex offences over the years.

Their lawyers faced off in court earlier this month, though the date for their trial isn’t until March 9, 2026.

If you’re new to this, then here’s the quick version: Blake Lively starred alongside Justin Baldoni in the movie It Ends With Us, while he was also directing the film and helping produce it.

Back in December last year, Lively filed a lawsuit suing Baldoni for sexual harassment and claiming he engaged in a campaign of ‘social manipulation’.

Baldoni hit back the following month by filing a countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicist in which he accuses them of defamation and hijacking the production of It Ends With Us among other things.

Each side has denied the allegations the other has made about them, and there’s been a few updates in the recent days.

Lively’s subpoenas

Deadline reports that Blake Lively’s team has launched subpoenas against US mobile phone carriers AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon along with AOL, Cloudflare Jed Wallace in order to try and get the full picture of what messages were sent.

Lively’s representatives said that they’d sent the subpoenas as they claim that the information published on a website did not contain everything.

They said: “Ms. Lively has initiated discovery that will expose the people, tactics, and methods that have worked to ‘destroy’ and ‘bury’ her reputation and family over the past year.

“We will now receive all of the ‘receipts’ that, unsurprisingly, are nowhere to be found on Mr. Freedman’s website, and like Ms. Lively, those ‘receipts’ will have their day in court.”

Baldoni’s reps said sending subpoenas was an ‘ordinary part of the litigation process’, but hit out at what Lively’s team wanted to obtain, saying: “They are asking for every single call, text, data log, and even real-time location information for the past 2.5 years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter.

“This massive fishing expedition demonstrates that they are desperately seeking any factual basis for their provably false claims. They will find none.”

The extension

While the actual trial date is a long way off and currently set for March next year, Blake Lively recently requested to a court that they be granted an extension until March 5.

Her camp wants to file an amended lawsuit, and the deadline for doing so was February 14.

Lively’s request to put the deadline back until next month was rejected, and she was instead granted four more days, meaning that February 18 will be her new deadline for the amended lawsuit.

Wayfarer’s response

It’s not only Lively’s team that wanted an extension, as according to Law&Crime Network Baldoni’s Wayfarer team had said they too wanted one as a result of the Los Angeles fires.

They reported that Wayfarer filed a letter saying they had ‘no objection’ to Lively’s team having an extension, but accused them of having ‘refused to consent to an extension of time’ for Wayfarer.

Wayfarer claimed that on January 7, Lively’s team attempted to ‘serve a member of Baldoni’s team while they attempted to evacuate’ the fires ‘with their small child’.

In the same letter, they said that if Lively got her March 5 extension then they wanted a deadline to respond of April 16.

The decisions and delays

While a judge extended the time Lively’s team back to February 18 instead of the March 5 date she wanted, her team was also given extra time to file a motion to dismiss and now has until March 20 to do it.

With more time to submit her amended lawsuit and file to dismiss the suits against her the next month or so, she looks likely to be busy.

Beyond that, there’d still be a year to go between the March 20 deadline to file a motion to dismiss and the actual date they’d end up going to trial, though that is still subject to being moved around.

The Jed Wallace of it all

Earlier this month, Lively was the subject of a lawsuit from Jed Wallace, a crisis publicist who Lively’s lawyers claim was hired by Baldoni’s team and allege that his firm ‘weaponised a digital army’ against her.

He’s the owner of PR firm Street Relations and faces the allegation that he used ‘a digital army around the country from New York to Los Angeles to create, seed and promote content that appeared to be authentic on social media platforms and internet chat forums’.

In Wallace’s lawsuit, his representatives claimed that Lively had ‘no facts supporting the allegations’ and is suing her for $7 million.

This whole thing seems likely to rumble on and on.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a lifelong neurological condition which impacts how a person concentrates in their day-to-day life.

The disorder, which often causes difficulties with a person’s ability to concentrate, is traditionally diagnosed in childhood. However there has been an uptick in adults seeking a diagnosis over recent years.

Statistics from ADHD UK estimate that around 2.6 million people in the UK are living with the condition.

As our understanding of ADHD develops, people with the condition are beginning to notice more and more about how their brain chemistry plays a role in daily tasks — with one doctor revealing a common link he’s noticed between the disorder and driving.

Psychiatrist and TikTok creator Dr Steven Storage has built a large following by sharing his knowledge on a number of health-related topics, which includes ADHD.

So how can the ADHD impact our driving habits? Well, if you were to ask Dr Storage, he would look at how often you use navigational devices in the car.

“Here is one of my favourite subtle signs of ADHD,” he began. “If you have driven to the same place 50 times and had navigation on every time, you may have ADHD.”

Now this may sound a little bizarre at first, but Dr Storage went on to explain that it’s less to do with how your brain remembers directions and more about the brain needing a ‘cue’ for things such as changing lanes and exiting a road.

“Otherwise, they might get trapped in their head,” he added.

Dr Storage isn’t alone in his observation either, with several users in the ADHD subreddit agreeing that using a navigational system helps them focus on driving, which in turn allows them to feel safer behind the wheel.

Several commenters were also in agreement, with one person commenting: “I do it to my mother’s even though I know how to get there.

“Navigation ALL the time, otherwise I’ll end up at home and totally miss where I was supposed to go,” a second added.

However, it’s important to note that this experience won’t be universal for everyone with suspected or diagnosed ADHD and doesn’t take into account that some people may just prefer driving with a satnav as a preference.

“I do it to be notified of traffic delays & so I can report speed traps,” a third viewer wrote, while another added that they like to see what their expected arrival time at a destination is.
