While you’re splashing about in the frosty waters of the British seaside, it’s highly unlikely you’ll fall victim to a deadly shark attack.

And hopefully, experiencing the huge fish having a bite is something we’ll never have to go through. But unfortunately, for those who do, it’s something that’s probably going to stay with them until the day they die.

Like this Brit, who is still haunted by the shark attack he filmed a vicious YouTube video of where you can hear the scream.

He thought it was a ‘cool encounter’ and decided to start filming while it swam its way over to his diving group. The man had come across three sharks very recently ‘with no trouble at all’, hence the confidence in whipping out his camera.

Several German drivers who were swimming in the same area joined with White’s group, with the shark’s behaviour began to change.

He told Tracking Sharks in 2018: “As I was filming, I noticed that one of the outlet diver’s bubbles spooked the shark and it turned to investigate.”

In the video, you can see the shark making its way to the diver’s level and swimming towards them.

The animal then begins to attack a diver, with the clip showing it biting into its victim’s leg.

Dan retold this scary encounter to the BBC’s Why Sharks Attack: “It bit into the diver’s leg, latched on, thrashed around and ended up going over almost like a cartwheel.

“It was crazy, it wouldn’t let go for what felt like forever. It ended up tearing his calf muscle completely off his leg.”

The man’s calf was ripped to shreds and the shark had not only completely destroyed his calf muscle but also bitten down to the bone.

“There was a big plume of blood in the water. Another diver started screaming you could hear her scream – a shriek noise in your ear,” Dan said.

“It’s horrifying to listen to.”

Despite the group being 10 metres below the water’s surface, you can hear the scream in the video. After the shark attack, the man was helped up to the surface where he was heaved out from the water.

Before being rushed to shore, first responders administered pain medication and applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg, which miraculously didn’t need to be amputated. He was then taken to hospital.

Unsurprisingly, YouTube users were quick to express their shock beneath the video, with one person writing in the comments: “Very scary footage.”

Another added: “Wow, absolutely terrifying.”

While a third penned: “The most chilling part of this is still being able to hear the screaming under water.”

Originally from Birmingham, Lucy Southerton started out as a massage therapist on cruise ships when she was just 19.

Over the past five years though, she’s provided some real insight into what goes on over international waters on her YouTube channel Cruising As Crew.

“Now a lot of people think that gratuities are additional to a crew member’s wage, as in the crew member gets a nice wage and the gratuities are something extra. But unfortunately, they’re not, the gratuities makeup the crew member’s basic wage,” Lucy said.

“The reason that cruise lines get you to add gratuities on at the end to makeup the crew member’s wage is so that they can advertise cruises for less. You pay less for the cruise, which means you are more likely to come on and cruise.

“So it is really not okay to remove gratuities, like a really s**t move if you do that because this person has worked really hard for you all week, if they’re your housekeeper especially and you’re basically slapping them in the face if you remove gratuities.”

Previously, Lucy also opened up about what it was like to date colleagues on board and how weird it can get.

“So, I think it’s kind of well known that a lot of stuff goes on, on cruise ships,” she said.

“And it’s all kind of ‘incestuous’ in a weird way because when you live in a small town, there’s only a certain amount of people.

“So you know, friends end up hooking up with friends, who then end up going with the other friend, and that’s like cruise ships.

“Ultimately, there is only a certain number of people to choose from, so things are going to cross over at certain points.”

“So my friend was really worried about catching something like an STI or an STF because he was like, ‘are they just rife?'”, she continued.

“Well firstly, when you have your medical done to work on a cruise ship, I would say 80 percent of medicals test you for sexually transmitted infections and diseases.

“So actually, in that sense, it’s quite safe because the majority of people who work on a cruise ship have been tested for something.”

Amazon Prime Video’s Beast Games has finally reached a conclusion with ‘the largest cash prize in TV history’ being up for grabs.

1,000 contestants battled it out, as MrBeast – real name Jimmy Donaldson – promised to give ‘away a private island, Lamborghinis, and millions more in cash throughout the competition’, which had a whopping £79,600,000 budget.

The 26-year-old spent £11,950,000 million to build ‘Beast City’, in Toronto, Canada, and also gave away upwards of £25 million to contestants throughout the show.

However, it was Jeff Allen, known as Player 831, who came out on top and was announced as the winner of the $10,000,000 competition.

That being said, he was ‘only’ awarded $5.03 million after taxes, as MrBeast himself pointed out.

This received a mix of comments over on X, as one person commented: “They won a life changing amount of money.”

“The taxes are INSANE but I would gladly settle for $5 million.”

Although others were a little less forgiving to the US tax system.

“Congrats to the IRS for winning beast games. They spent a lot of time and hard work getting there!” another sarcastically wrote.

“So it’s only relative to the stated amount.

“This is about how bad taxes are, not you.”

“How does it feel to pay $10m knowing $5m will go straight to the tax man… when you know you already just paid tax on it… Seems horrible,” a fourth person complained.

Someone else also pointed out: “Only is right…MrBeast is basically gifting someone $5M and the government $5M.

“But when you really think about it, MrBeast had to make $13M so he could give the government 30% toward income tax.

“So the government got $8M in this deal.”

“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,” MrBeast, the host and executive producer, told Amazon prior to the show.

“Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics have given it an underwhelming 13 per cent, while the audience scored it 89 per cent. Quite the difference.

Oscar Ray Bolin received three death sentences in 1991 for abducting and murdering three women across 1986 in Florida.

He would go on to maintain his innocence all the way up until his death on January 7, 2016, via lethal injection, even giving an interview to the media on the day before his execution took place.

Who were Oscar Ray Bolin’s victims?

On January 25, 1986, Bolin attacked and killed his first victim, a 25-year-old restaurant manager named Natalie Blanche Holley, after she had finished a night shift and stabbed her to death.

Holley’s body was discovered the morning by jogger running through a local woodland.

His second victim was 17-year-old student Stephanie Collins, who vanished in November after finishing a late shift at her job. Collins would remain missing for another month before it was found by authorities.

On the same day that Collins’ body was recovered, police were also alerted to the disappearance of 26-year-old Teri Lynn Matthews, who had vanished from her car outside a post office. Her body was found beaten and stabbed later that day, also wrapped in a white sheet.

Despite obvious connections between the three killings, it would take four years before authorities were able to link Bolin to the deaths of the three woman – thanks to an anonymous tip off from his ex-wife.

By the time Bolin’s ex-wife made the call, he was already in police custody, serving a separate sentence for the 1987 kidnap, rape and attempted murder of a woman in Ohio.

The tip would lead Bolin’s younger half-brother Philip to speak out against him, revealing that he’d witnessed his sibling attacking a woman wrapped in a sheet back in 1986. This was later confirmed to be Matthews. Bolin’s cousin would also testify that he’d assisted the killer with abducting a woman in Texas in 1987.

He added that Bolin had ultimately raped and strangled the woman, however, authorities in Texas declined to pursue the case due to his other charges.

Bolin would spend the 28 years between his initial imprisonment and death maintaining that he was innocent and had been framed.

In a final interview with Fox the day before his execution, Bolin stated that he was at ‘peace’ with death as it meant being ‘released’ from prison.

“[I feel] a little numb,” he said with a laugh, when reporters when asked how he was doing.

“We all die, but knowing your exact date and time, that’s hard to deal with.

Known as koi pla, it’s a plate of minced raw fish mixed with herbs, spices and lemon juice.

Unfortunately, the raw fish can be full of parasitic creatures which can give people liver cancer.

According to the BBC, the regions of Thailand where koi pla is popular have abnormally high levels of liver cancer and that studies of the disease found that in some communities up to 80 percent of people had the parasites that could lead to it, though the cancer didn’t usually develop until after the host was 50.

In some cases children as young as four years old had the parasites.

Research on the parasites found that they can make chemicals that trigger the immune system response in their host, which can cause inflammation, which then becomes chronic and develops into cancer.

Dr Narong Khuntikeo, from Thailand, has been working to fight against the dangerous delicacy after both his parents tragically died from liver cancer after consuming it.

“It’s a very big health burden around here,” the liver surgeon told Agence France-Presse.

He continued: “But nobody knows about this because they die quietly, like leaves falling from a tree.”

The ‘silent killer’ disease has one of the lowest survival rates of all cancers if left untreated by surgery.

Dr Khuntikeo, joined by scientists, doctors and anthropologists, have spent years testing villagers from the Isaan region for the parasite.

Using ultrasound machines and urine testing kits, the doctor found that as much as 80 percent of inhabitants from some communities were found to have ingested the deadly parasite.

While he’s trying to spread information and warnings over the koi pla dish – alongside local health officials have introducing a school curriculum geared at teaching children about the risks of raw foods – Dr Khuntikeo has said he’s faced issues with the older generation.

“They’ll say: ‘Oh well, there are many ways to die’,” the health professional said.

“But I cannot accept this answer.”

Those who don’t want the potentially deadly dish to change despite the health risk have claimed that cooking the dish, which is the best way to kill the parasite, spoils the taste.

One might argue that the prospect of fatal liver cancer might make for a more off-putting meal.

Kent Police said that the woman had been in the Three Horseshoes pub in the village of Knockholt on the evening of Valentine’s Day (14 February) when the shooting was carried out.

Police have said their suspect is a man who knew the victim, and the investigation found a vehicle containing a gun on the Queen Elizabeth II bridge which spans the River Thames.

Officers were called to the pub at 7.02pm, as was the South East Coast Ambulance Service with the woman declared dead at the scene.

“She was declared deceased at the scene and a murder investigation is under way. Her next of kin has been informed.

“Inquiries are ongoing to identify and locate all persons potentially involved.”

Ray Picot, a local parish councillor, said he’d heard ‘a couple of loud bangs’ at around 7pm and said that the other people in the pub had been left in ‘terrible shock’ by the shooting.

He told Kent Online: “It’s a shock. We’ve never had anything like this. It’s a very busy pub – a great pub. It never has any trouble and is very well managed.

“I understand those inside the pub were ushered back to their houses by police as they were all in terrible shock. It sounded awful.”

Fellow councillor, Steve Maines, told the BBC he’d heard a ‘commotion’ outside the pub and was later told that someone had been shot.

Maines explained that he was ‘having our Valentine’s Day meal when all of a sudden we heard this huge commotion outside in the car park’ before being told that he’d have to leave because of the shooting.

Meanwhile, local man Chris Warner said it was ‘just so shocking that something like this could happen here’ as the village was a ‘quiet area’ and ‘everybody knows everyone’.

Another Knockholt resident said she heard ‘around three to four bangs outside and loud shouting from a woman’s voice’.

On social media the Three Horseshoes pub announced that it would be closed for the day (15 February) and said they hoped to be able to open again tomorrow ‘as usual’.

Whilst constantly dating beautiful women might not seem like the worst thing in the world, the SNL star insists that it’s not what you think.

Laura Whitmore has shared the last messages she received from Caroline Flack before the TV presenter died by suicide.

Love Island presenter Flack was found dead in her home on 15 February 2020, with her family representatives saying she had taken her own life, which was supported by an inquest into the 40-year-old’s death.

Two months prior she had been charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton, and days later stood down from her TV presenting role on the ITV2 dating show so she would ‘not detract attention from the upcoming series’.

Whitmore said she’d got a new phone and had seen a lot of old messages, including the ones Flack had sent to her.

“I got a new phone this month and as I was trying to download WhatsApp messages from my cloud loads of old messages came up,” Whitmore wrote in a post on Instagram.

“Ones I thought I lost a few years ago and no longer had. It really hit me hard.

“Looking at messages I’ve never publicly shared as they were private messages. Media outlets wrote a lot far from the actual truth.

“I think they show a side to Caroline which is nice to remember. Hence I’m sharing now.”

In the messages, dated 18 December the day after Caroline Flack said she was stepping down from Love Island, Flack told Whitmore ‘I hope you are doing the job’ and that she ‘wouldn’t want it to be anyone else’.

Whitmore told her that she had been offered the role and wanted to tell Flack first, to which the TV presenter said she was ‘glad’ it was Whitmore getting the job.
