Ree shared her excitement over the milestone with a heartfelt Instagram post. It featured a photo of her husband, Ladd Drummond, and herself as she cradled their granddaughter. The 55-year-old expressed her joy, “Our first baby had her first baby. ❤️ Thank you, Lord; we will never be the same.”

The blogger’s excitement at being a grandmother was evident in her several posts. She also shared two close-up pictures of Sofia snuggled in a white blanket adorned with grey and red baby footprints. The sleeping newborn wore a bow headband tied with a red string, adding a charming touch to the sweet photos.

Alex captioned the post, “She’s here 🕊️,” and added, “December 18th, 2024. At 2:27 am, our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you, Lord.”

Under a picture of Ree holding her granddaughter, one fan couldn’t help but giggle, “Sofia looks like her mommy 🎀🥰.”  Another fan shared a similar sentiment: “Sofia looks just like her momma in this photo! Congratulations❤️.”

Some thought the resemblance was closer to Ree herself, with one admirer commenting, “She looks like her granny. 😍😍 congratulations, @thepioneerwoman 🎊.”  The excitement extended to imagining future moments, as a fan wrote, “Congratulations… I can already imagine the fun you two will have making lots of mess and baking yummy sweet treats in the kitchen. ❤️”

In late June 2024, Alex and Mauricio revealed the baby’s gender. The couple was in their backyard with their dog when Mauricio held a cupcake meant for the gender reveal, but the dog ate it all before they could see.

Alex brought a second cupcake, and the dog only ate half, revealing the color pink, indicating that they were expecting a girl. The couple shouted in joy. The caption of the video reads, “We’re having a…🤭 Hopefully George loves his little sister half as much as he loved those cupcakes!”

During Alex’s pregnancy, a beautiful baby shower was also held at one of their friend’s parents’ homes in Dallas. The event featured a mimosa bar, petit fours, and plenty of Dr Pepper, along with delicious finger foods.

Alex opened her gifts while everyone admired her and took pictures. Ree noted that it was a typical baby shower, though the gorgeous details stood out, thanks to Alex’s friends. For Ree, it was an emotional day, as the mom-to-be was her own daughter. She teared up a few times, enjoyed the finger sandwiches, and even had a surprise visit from George and Mauricio.
