Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday (January 20) in Washington, DC.
The 78-year-old has become the first person since Grover Cleveland to serve non-consecutive terms as President of the United States.
Trump celebrated his victory with a star-studded inauguration attended by his family, tech billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, musicians, and members of his cabinet.
VIP guests at the event were treated to a gift bag filled with eye-catching, and at times confusing, items.
Here’s what made it into the bag that’s got everyone talking.
Patriotic Packaging
According to Page Six, attendees picked up their event passes at the historic Decatur House, located just steps from the White House in Washington, DC.
While the newly-elected leader’s 2017 inauguration featured invites tucked into a navy folio, this year’s edition went full-on “Republican red”.
Luxe Leather Goods
The standout items were a red leather journal embossed in gold with a sketch of the US Capitol and a matching red leather coin and watch dish, also featuring the Capitol building.
The patriotic designs seemed carefully curated for the president’s important guests.
A Medal of (Debatable) Honor
One of the more unusual items in the bag was a large bronze-colored medal featuring silhouettes of Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
While the artistic accuracy of the depictions might be up for debate, the medal also displayed their names on the reverse side, cementing the duo’s historic ticket.

A Festive Touch
Guests also received a glittering White House Christmas ornament, perfect for their holiday decorations, and a red “challenge coin,” adding another collectible to the mix.
A Presidential Beverage
Perhaps the most surprising item was a commemorative bottle of Trump’s go-to drink, Diet Coke.
The bottle was labeled: “The inauguration of the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, January 20, 2025.”
The Ultimate Tote
Finally, everything came packaged in a white canvas bag with a red sketch of the Capitol, a fitting carrier for the unique haul of inaugural goodies.
From elegant leather to Diet Coke memorabilia, Trump’s inauguration gifts were as bold and unconventional as the man himself.
