Blackheads, a type of mild acne, form when pores become clogged with dead skin cells and oil, which then oxidize and darken when exposed to airTo remove them, you can use over-the-counter products containing salicylic acid, exfoliate regularly, and avoid touching your face. For persistent or deep blackheads, a dermatologist can offer professional extraction or prescription medications like retinoids.

Here’s a more detailed look at the causes and treatments:
Causes of Blackheads:
  • Clogged Pores:

Blackheads form when hair follicles (pores) become blocked with dead skin cells and excess sebum (oil).

  • Oxidation:

The dark appearance of blackheads is due to the interaction of the trapped material with oxygen, causing it to oxidize.

  • Other Factors:

Hormonal changes, certain medications, and even some cosmetics can contribute to increased oil production and potentially lead to blackheads.

How to Remove Blackheads:
  1. 1. Over-the-counter treatments:
    • Salicylic Acid: This beta hydroxy acid (BHA) helps exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, says La Roche-Posay.
    • Benzoyl Peroxide: This helps kill bacteria and reduce inflammation, especially helpful if blackheads are turning into inflamed pimples.
    • Exfoliating Scrubs: Gentle scrubs can help remove dead skin cells, but avoid harsh scrubs as they can irritate the skin.
  2. 2. Professional Extraction:
    • Dermatologist: A dermatologist can safely extract blackheads using specialized tools and techniques.
    • Mechanical Extraction: This involves using a tool to gently push out the contents of the clogged pore, according to Medanta.
  3. 3. Other Treatments:
    • Retinoids: These prescription-strength vitamin A derivatives help to unclog pores and promote skin cell turnover, according to Medanta.
    • Chemical Peels: These peels use acids to exfoliate the skin and improve skin texture, which can help with blackheads.
    • Honey and Tea Tree Oil: These natural remedies have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, according to Healthline.
Important Tips:
  • Avoid Squeezing:

Squeezing blackheads can lead to inflammation, scarring, and infection.

  • Gentle Cleansing:

Wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser to remove excess oil and dirt.

  • Hydrate Skin:

Use oil-free moisturizers to maintain skin hydration without clogging pores.

  • Sun Protection:

Blackhead treatments can make skin more sensitive to the sun, so use sunscreen daily.

  • Consult a Dermatologist:
If you have persistent or severe blackheads, consult a dermatologist for appropriate treatment options.

ED comp: Sharon Osbourne grief at Ozzy funeral

Sharon and Ozzy had a long-lasting romance

Sharon Osbourne has been seen for the first time since the death of husband Ozzy at his funeral. And her appearance was truly heartbreaking.

Today (July 30) marks a very sad day for the world of showbiz as we say goodbye to one of the legends – Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy’s shock death was announced last week – not long after his farewell concert.

As his funeral procession was underway today, his wife of 43 years, Sharon Osbourne was clearly devastated. And she had to be physically supported by her and Ozzy’s children.

Sharon and Ozzy’s relationship

A love story for the ages, Sharon and Ozzy met in the 70’s but it wasn’t until nine years later that sparks began to fly.

Things weren’t always plain sailing for the couple, but their love overcame it all. They welcomed three children together – Kelly, Jack and Aimee.

Over the years the Osbourne’s became a much-loved and iconic family. But before their TV show, Ozzy was even arrested for attempting to murder Sharon – however, she never pressed charges.

Their relationship was hit with affairs and a suicide attempt but, in 2017, the pair renewed their vows. And from then they remained stronger than ever.

But their journey came to a heartbreaking end when Ozzy died. Sharon has been seen for the first time since his death, at his funeral. And her grief was all too clear.

How was Sharon supported at funeral of Ozzy Osbourne?

After Ozzy’s hearse headed through Birmingham City Centre, Sharon and her children got out to look at the tributes left for the music icon.

The funeral procession played music from Black Sabbath and had pink flowers spelling out Ozzy’s name. But it was the tributes and cheers from fans that had Sharon Osbourne in tears at the funeral of Ozzy.

The 72 year old was physically held up by Kelly and Jack, after she nearly fell down looking at the tributes.

On numerous occasions Sharon stopped and just looked around her, taking in the world’s love for her husband.

But at one point it all seemed to get quite overwhelming as the crowd began to chant “Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy, oi oi oi”. At that moment, Sharon and her family looked out at the crowds and all did the rock sign to them. A beautiful nod to her husband’s legacy.

Sharon didn’t stay out too long, but it was long enough for the world to see how much pain she is in. And from the second she left the car, she was in tears.

It was a very emotional watch for everyone worldwide.

Ozzy Osbourne's clear demands for his funeral before his death and the one specific thing he didn't want

The Black Sabbath frontman died aged 76 earlier this month

Ozzy Osbourne previously made clear demands for his funeral before he passed away aged 76 and detailed the one specific thing he didn’t want.

The Black Sabbath singer died last week, having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019.

Confirming his sad passing, a statement from the singer’s family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Ozzy left behind his wife, Sharon, and their children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack. He is also survived by Jessica and Louis, from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, as well as his grandchildren.

What was Ozzy Osbourne famous for?

Ozzy was of course best known for being the frontman of Black Sabbath – a heavy metal rock band that many say defined the genre during its heyday in the 1970s.

His theatrical stage presence, including once biting off the head of a bat, and styling himself as the Prince of Darkness marked him out as a somewhat divisive figure.

However, after starring in the hilarious reality TV show The Osbournes, fans grew to love Ozzy due his relationship with Sharon being played in front of the cameras.

What did Ozzy Osbourne request for his funeral?

In a column for The Times back in 2011, Ozzy explained how he wanted his funeral to be a genuine celebration of his life, rather than a day filled with sadness and grief.

“I honestly don’t care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and We Are the Diddymen if it makes ‘em happy,” he told the publication back then.

“But I do want to make sure it’s a celebration, not a mope-fest.”

Ozzy continued: “I’d also like some pranks: maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin; or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of ‘death’.

“There’ll be no harping on the bad times.”

Ozzy’s funeral is taking place in Birmingham on Wednesday (July 30) with a procession traveling down Broad Street.

The procession will pause at the Black Sabbath bench and bridge, as a live brass band performance by musicians from Bostin’ Brass will take place.

You can watch a livestream of the funeral procession, which starts at 8am EST/5am PT, here.

The event will take place ahead of a private funeral.

What has Ozzy Osbourne’s family said since his death?

Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy’s daughter, shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song ‘Changes’ in the days after the rock star’s death.

The pair recorded the track as a duet together in 2003, and Kelly paid tribute to her father with a post to her Instagram Stories.

“I feel unhappy I am so sad,” Kelly wrote. “I lost the best friend I ever had.”

A family statement initially confirmed Ozzy’s passing.

King Charles Issues Rare Cancer Update And Leaves Fans Heartbroken

King Charles Issues Rare Cancer Update And Leaves Fans Heartbroken

King Charles has issued a rare update regarding his cancer diagnosis leaving fans heartbroken.

King Charles has issued a rare update about his cancer as he receives ‘ongoing’ treatment.

The beloved monarch, 76, first announced to the public that he was battling cancer over 18 months ago.

In February 2024, Buckingham Palace released a statement which read: “During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

He has since put on a brave face for all public engagements and royal events, but updates following the initial announcement have left fans heartbroken.

The royal family was dealt a double blow when it was announced in March 2024 that the Princess of Wales also had a cancer diagnosis, after undergoing major abdominal surgery.

Despite now being in remission from the disease, after preventative treatment, Kate Middleton has admitted that the aftermath has been hard to deal with.

She made her return to public duties with a meaningful visit to a hospital garden in Essex, U.K., where she spoke about finding her ‘new normal.’

Middleton said: “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment.

“Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

The 43-year-old added: “You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.

“And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you, and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”

But after visiting the public in Suffolk town centre last week (July 22), King Charles made a brief admission about his cancer.

One person in the crowd, Lee Harman, 54, asked the King about his cancer.

Speaking to PA, he said: “I asked him how he was, and he said he was feeling a lot better now and that it was ‘just one of those things.’”

After informing King Charles of his own battle with the disease, Harman added: “I said ‘I’m all good,’ I got the all clear from cancer last year.”

But one royal insider has suggested that the King will not be so lucky.

Royal insider Camilla Tominey, claimed in The Telegraph that sources have informed her that King Charles’s cancer is ‘incurable.’

Although it’s not clear what type of cancer he has, it’s previously been reported that it was caught at an early stage.

She says that while the monarch’s cancer is currently under control, it is ultimately incurable.

“The talk now is that he may die ‘with’ cancer, but not ‘of’ cancer following a rigorous treatment program,” Tominey said.

Despite the concern, the insider noted that there are already plans in the works for King Charles’ 80th birthday in 2028.

But because of his ill health, neither he nor Queen Camilla will ever move to Buckingham Palace.

Instead, the pair will remain just a stone’s-throw away in Clarence House, where they have resided for over 20 years.

PETA shares Ozzy Osbourne message following his death and people are seriously confused

PETA shares Ozzy Osbourne message following his death and people are seriously confused

The animal rights non-profit organisation issued a statement following the Black Sabbath star’s passing yesterday (22 July)

The family of Ozzy Osbourne announced his passing yesterday and, ever since the news was confirmed, tributes from fans and celebrities alike have been pouring in left, right and centre.

Some companies and organisations have also come forward to share some words following the Black Sabbath star’s passing at aged 76, including none other than People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – better known as PETA.

However, the message they shared shortly after Osbourne’s death has left people seriously confused over one specific word choice they used to describe him which critics clearly do not agree with.

Now, for some context, Osbourne first teamed up with PETA back in 2020.

He became the face of their ad campaign against declawing cats, with the tagline ‘It’s an Amputation. Not a Manicure’ with a press release at the time quoting him as saying: “Amputating a cat’s toes is twisted and wrong.

“If your couch is more important to you than your cat’s health and happiness, you don’t deserve to have an animal!

“Get cats a scratching post – don’t mutilate them for life.”

PETA’s statement

The statement on the passing of Osbourne from PETA’s Senior Vice President, Lisa Lange, reads in full: “Ozzy Osbourne was a legend and a provocateur, but PETA will remember the ‘Prince of Darkness’ most fondly for the gentle side he showed to animals – most recently cats, by using his fame to decry painful, crippling declawing mutilations.

“Ozzy may have been the singer, but his wife, Sharon, and his daughter, Kelly, were of one voice when it meant protecting animals.”

The tribute rounded off: “Ozzy will be missed by animal advocates the world over.”

However, as not all fans may know, Osbourne has infamously been connected with several instances of animal abuse.

The doves incident

Back in 1981, Osbourne attended a meeting with CBS Records executives in Los Angeles.

Such a meeting actually took place before his solo career fully took off, and it was clear that he wanted to make a shocking impression.

And, to do so, Osbourne reportedly brought two live white doves – which are deemed a ‘symbol of peace’ – and intended to release them as part of a grand gesture.

Instead, in a moment of impulse, he bit the head off one dove and ripped the head off another which, quite understandably, left the record company execs beyond horrified.

He later told rock biographer Mick Wall that a PR woman at the meeting had been getting on his nerves.

According to Wall’s book, Black Sabbath: Symptoms of the Universe, Osbourne ‘pulled out one of these doves and bit its [expletive] head off just to shut her up.’

“Then I did it again with the next dove,” he added, “spitting the head out on the table.”

“That’s when they threw me out. They said I’d never work for CBS again.”

However, he later told Sounds’ magazine’s Garry Bushell a slightly different rendition of the story.

“The scam is the bird was dead. We were planning to release it there, but it died beforehand. So rather than waste it, I bit its head off,” he said.

“You should have seen their faces. They all went white. They were speechless.”

Regardless, the incident made headlines and helped cement the Birmingham-born singer’s reputation as the ‘Prince of Darkness.’

The bat incident

During a concert on January 20, 1982, in Des Moines, Iowa, a fan threw what the ‘Iron Man’ singer allegedly believed was a fake rubber bat onto the stage.

Osbourne, who is well-known for his theatrical and shocking stage antics, then picked it up and bit its head off.

However, the bat turned out to be real but was already dead and, while it wasn’t animal abuse in the sense of killing a live creature on stage, it was highly disturbing and considered disrespectful toward animal life.

Upon realising what had happened, the heavy metalhead was immediately taken to the hospital for rabies shots.

Speaking of the incident in 2006, he told the BBC: “This bat comes on. I thought it was one of them Hallowe’en joke bats ‘cos it had some string around its neck.

“I bite into it, and I look to my left and Sharon [Osbourne, his wife and then manager] was going [gesturing no].

“And I’m like, what you talking about? She [says], ‘it’s a dead real bat’. And I’m… I know now!”

Although Ozzy claimed he thought the bat was a toy, the act very much so shocked the public and became one of the most infamous moments of rock history.

The cats incident

In an interview with Guitar Legends, Osbourne admitted to shooting 17 of his cats in the 1980s.

“I was taking drugs so much I was a wreck,” he said. “The final straw came when I shot all our cats. We had about 17, and I went crazy and shot them all. My wife found me under the piano in a white suit, a shotgun in one hand and a knife in the other.”

In 2000, Rolling Stone reported that Osbourne admitted to shooting a ‘henhouse full of chickens,’ snorting a ‘line of ants’ and eating a bat’s head.

“. . . he has shot up a henhouse full of chickens and killed a whole gang of cats and snorted a line of ants like they were a line of cocaine and bitten the head off a bat, and catapulted meat (stomach and intestines, mostly) into his audience,” the article stated.

‘How is that gentle’

PETA’s choice of using the phrase ‘the gentle side he showed to animals’ when discussing Osbourne’s legacy understandably hasn’t sat right with people online given the several instances that have highlighted pretty much the exact opposite.

Taking to social media, one X user penned: “He bit the head off a bat lmao how is that gentle?”

“He bit the heads off of 2 living animals you twits!” hit out a second while a third chimed in: “How dare you! He killed a bat on stage by biting off it’s head! How do you support such things!?!?!?”

Another queried: “PETA… Is this really you posting?”

And a final X user echoed: “I honestly thought this was a satire account posting this.”

Tyla has reached out to PETA for comment.

Removing Blackheads from the Ear, Cause & Professional Treatment

Why Blackheads Form in Your Ears and How to Treat Them

Your ears are particularly susceptible to blackheads because they often aren’t given the same preventive treatment as your face. Treatment can include exfoliation and acne treatments.

Blackheads are one form of acne, a type of inflammatory skin condition that’s caused by clogged pores. While blackheads are commonly linked to areas of the “T-zone” (chin, nose, and forehead), they can occur anywhere.

Unlike other types of acne, such as cysts, blackheads aren’t linked to bacteria. They’re caused by a combination of oil (sebum), dead skin cells, and dirt that clog your pores and create a hardened substance. The top of the pore is left open, and the plugged material oxidizes into a darkened color.

Read on to learn how blackheads are formed and how to treat them on your ears.

What causes blackheads?

Everyone has oil glands — in fact, these are necessary for natural skin hydration. Oil glands only become problematic if they become overactive and produce too much sebum. This is most often the case in people with oily or combination skin types.

The following risk factors can also increase your number of clogged pores, leading to more blackheads:

Although whiteheads also stem from clogged pores, they have closed heads. This creates the white cap that you see on the skin.

What treatment options are available?

You’ll follow the same steps to get rid of a blackhead in your ear as you would for blackheads on other parts of your body. The difference, though, is that the skin on your ears is more sensitive, and you also can’t see the area easily.

Consistency is also important — it can be easy to forget your ears compared to more visible areas, such as your face.

1. Wash your ears

One of the best ways to remove the excess oils and dirt that can build up in your ears is to wash them every day. This is easy to do in the shower, and you may even be able to use your regular face cleanser. You can use your fingers or a soft washcloth.

Choose gentle foaming, oil-free products, such as:

Avoid over-scrubbing your ears, as this can irritate your skin and cause more acne.

2. Exfoliate the area

You may already know that exfoliation is important for your face and body. It helps to remove dead skin cells that dull your skin tone and clog your pores. This also includes your ears. You can gently exfoliate the delicate skin surrounding your ears once a week. This is best to do the shower.

Apply the exfoliating wash with your fingers and rub gently. The following products may help:

3. Apply acne medication

Certain over-the-counter (OTC) acne medications can also help unplug blackheads in and around your sensitive ears. Salicylic acid is a helpful OTC medication that works by unclogging pores and stripping away dead skin cells. Other acne medications like benzoyl peroxide are also useful.

Salicylic acid is available in numerous acne products. Astringents and toners are the most common, although some cleansers have it, too. When using a salicylic acid-based cleanser, such as Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash, use this in place of a regular cleanser in the shower.

You can also use your regular cleanser and follow up with an astringent, such as Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astringent. When using an astringent, use once a day to start. If your skin doesn’t develop any irritation, you can apply twice daily in your ears with a cotton ball or Q-tip.

4. Consider extraction

Extraction may be a last resort for stubborn blackheads in the ear. Rather than using fingernails or bobby pins, you’ll want to buy an extraction tool that won’t leave marks or cuts on your skin.

Still, even professional-grade extraction tools can be difficult to use in your ears. You should:

When to see your dermatologist

Although at-home blackhead removal methods can work for some people, it doesn’t work in all cases. If your blackheads come back in your ears, or if you have a widespread case throughout the area, it may be time to see your dermatologist.

A dermatologist can help with ear blackheads in a few different ways. With professional extraction tools, they can first remove the blackheads safely and thoroughly. This could be much more effective than doing the extractions yourself since you may not be able to see inside or behind your ear very well.

If you have recurring blackheads in the ears and other areas of the body, your dermatologist may prescribe acne medication. Keep in mind though that many of these products can make your skin sensitive to the sun, so be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen to avoid burns.

Giant blackheads in the ear, also known as dilated pores of Winer, are typically caused by a buildup of dead skin cells and sebum (oil) trapped within a pore. Professional extraction by a dermatologist or aesthetician is recommended for safe removal, as attempting to remove them yourself can lead to scarring or infection.

Causes:

  • Sebum and Dead Skin Cells:

Blackheads form when pores become clogged with excess sebum and dead skin cells, which then oxidize and darken, creating the blackhead appearance.

  • Hormonal Changes:

Hormonal fluctuations can increase sebum production, contributing to blackhead formation.

  • Genetics:

Some individuals may be genetically predisposed to producing more sebum or having larger pores, making them more susceptible to blackheads.

  • Poor Hygiene:

While not the primary cause, inadequate cleansing can exacerbate the issue by allowing more dead skin cells and oil to accumulate.

  • Picking or Squeezing:

Attempting to remove blackheads yourself can irritate the area, potentially leading to infection or scarring.

Professional Treatment:

  • Dermatologists and aestheticians use sterile tools like comedone extractors to gently remove the contents of the blackhead.

  • Chemical peels can exfoliate the skin, removing dead cells and debris that contribute to blackheads.

  • This procedure uses a specialized device to exfoliate the skin’s surface, helping to dislodge blackheads.

  • Certain laser treatments can target and reduce the appearance of blackheads.

  • Prescription-strength retinoids, such as tretinoin, can help to unclog pores and prevent future blackheads.

Important Considerations:

  • Avoid Picking: Picking at blackheads can lead to inflammation, infection, and scarring.
  • Consult a Professional: If you have persistent or large blackheads, especially in the ear, it’s best to seek professional help for safe and effective treatment.
  • Preventative Measures: Regular cleansing, exfoliation, and sun protection can help minimize the risk of future blackheads.

Blackheads inside the ear are a common skin issue caused by clogged pores due to excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteriaThey can appear as flat, dark spots within the ear canal or behind the ear. While not typically painful, blackheads can sometimes become inflamed, leading to pimples.

Causes:

  • Excess Oil Production: Overactive oil glands (sebaceous glands) can produce too much sebum, which combines with dead skin cells and can clog pores.
  • Clogged Pores: Dead skin cells and other debris can accumulate in the ear canal, blocking pores and trapping oil.
  • Bacteria: Bacteria can contribute to inflammation and the formation of pimples within the ear.
  • Earwax Buildup: Excessive earwax can trap debris and contribute to clogged pores.
  • Ear Hygiene: Poor ear hygiene, including infrequent cleaning, and the use of dirty earbuds or headphones, can worsen the problem.
  • Haircare Products: Certain hair products can clog pores in and around the ear.

Treatment:

  • Gentle Cleansing:

Regularly clean the outer ear with a washcloth and avoid using cotton swabs or other objects to clean inside the ear canal.

  • Exfoliation:

Use a gentle exfoliating scrub designed for the face to help remove dead skin cells and debris.

  • Over-the-counter Treatments:

Consider using products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to help unclog pores and reduce inflammation.

  • Professional Removal:

If home treatments are ineffective or the blackheads are severe, consult a dermatologist for professional extraction or treatment.

  • Avoid Picking or Squeezing:

Avoid picking or squeezing blackheads, as this can cause infection and scarring.

Prevention:

  • Regular Ear Cleaning:

Clean your ears regularly, but avoid over-cleaning or inserting objects into the ear canal.

  • Clean Earbuds and Headphones:

Regularly clean your earbuds and headphones to prevent the buildup of bacteria and debris.

  • Be Mindful of Haircare Products:

If you use hair products, be aware of how they might interact with your skin and clean your ears thoroughly.

  • Avoid Touching Ears:
Try to avoid touching or picking at your ears, as this can introduce bacteria and debris.

How to Get Rid of Blackheads in Your Ear

Blackheads are small pesk clusters of black dots clogging your pores. The dark material that makes up a blackhead isn’t dirt but a mixture of dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. Exposure to air is what causes them to oxidize and darken in color.

You’ve probably experienced blackheads on your face, nose, or chin at one time or another. Did you know you can get blackheads inside your ears too? Although Bioré products are designed for powerful blackhead removal and prevention on your face, we didn’t want to leave your ears out in the cold! Use this article to figure out what’s causing blackheads in your ears and how to get rid of them.

What Causes Blackheads in Your Ears?

Blackheads are non-inflammatory acne lesions caused by dead skin cells and oil that get trapped inside your pores. Ears are surprisingly vulnerable to developing blackheads because the skin inside the ear canal is covered with hundreds of tiny hair follicles and glands that produce oil and earwax. If these glands produce too much oil, your skin breaks out and you’re stuck with unsightly acne and blackheads. The shape of your ears is also prone to allowing bacteria and oil to build up, which can cause blackheads.

Ears are surprisingly vulnerable to developing blackheads because the skin inside the ear canal is covered with hundreds of tiny hair follicles and glands that produce oil and earwax.

Here are a some things could be inviting these annoying imperfections into your ears:

  • Residual Earwax and Grime on Your Earbuds or Headphones
  • Dirt and Bacteria on Your Pillowcase
  • Oil and Bacteria from Your Cell Phone
  • Touching Your Ears

How to Get Rid of Blackheads in Ears

Ear blackheads happen, but don’t worry, you can kick them to the curb with this easy step-by-step guide:

  1. Find a cleanser with Salicylic Acid. This acne-fighting ingredient acts as an exfoliant to dissolve excess oil and dead skin cells on your skin. Salicylic acid penetrates deep into pores and deep-cleans, and you can find it in cleansers, toners, and more.
  2. Use a cotton ball to carefully clean the skin on your ears. Take a clean cotton ball and saturate it with your salicylic acid cleanser. Gently rub your ears with the cotton ball, focusing on the area with blackheads. To keep the cleanser from dripping, tilt your ear to the side being careful not to let the solution enter your inner ear. Let it soak for about 10 seconds (or follow the instructions on the package).
  3. Thoroughly rinse off the cleanser with a clean cotton ball. The skin on your ears is sensitive. So, you might need to take time to build up a tolerance to salicylic cleanser. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after each application. To gently remove the cleanser, take a second clean cotton ball, saturate it with warm water, and rinse your ear to neutralize the cleanser.
  4. Cleanse your skin daily. For best results, repeat these steps once or twice daily. After about a week, you may start to notice a reduction in the size and number of blackheads in your ears.

Use a deep-cleaning clay mask

For extra cleansing, try a nutrient-rich, deep cleaning clay mask. These masks gently draw out impurities by absorbing excess oil that can cause blackheads.

Try a facial cleanser

Facial cleansers often contain salicylic acid and may be used as an alternative to glycolic acid, which can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Salicylic acid is a blackhead’s worst nightmare. It exfoliates inside pores to help loosen clogs and allow the body’s natural oils to flow more freely.

Apply witch hazel toner

For ear blackheads, look for a witch hazel toner to cleanse and disinfect the skin around your ears. Witch hazel is a common ingredient in cleansers, toners, and even pore strips due to its powerful disinfecting properties! Apply toner to the skin around your ears to control oil and deep clean your pores.

Professional Treatments for Ear Blackhead Removal

For severe cases of blackheads in your ears, it may be time to call in the professionals. An extraction procedure is relatively simple and non-invasive. A dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon uses a blackhead extractor tool to remove the build-up trapped under your skin in your ear. This is a unique tool designed to remove toxins from the surface of your skin without causing significant damage.

How to Prevent Ear Blackheads

The best way to prevent future blackheads is to keep your ears clean and free of excess oil. Here are a few tips for keeping your ears squeaky clean and blackhead free:

  • Exfoliate regularly. It will be a little different from exfoliating your face as physical exfoliants like facial scrubs should not be used in your ears. Instead, take a dry washcloth and gently rub your outer ear to slough off dead skin cells and prevent blackheads.
  • Wash your ears daily with a clean, warm washcloth and mild salicylic cleanser.
  • If you have long hair and don’t wash it every day, use a dry shampoo to keep oils from transferring into the ears.
  • Keep unwashed hair tied back to prevent excess oil from getting into your ears.
  • Stop touching your ears throughout the day to avoid triggering a breakout.
  • Wash anything and everything that touches your ears, like earbuds, cell phones, fingers, pillowcases, etc. Oil and earwax cling to objects like earbuds, so clean them off at least once a week and avoid wearing them for long periods of time.
  • Wash your pillowcase at least once a week to avoid a build-up of bacteria and impurities. These nasties can transfer back onto your skin overnight and cause irritation and acne.
  • Only use lotions and sunscreens that are specially formulated not to clog pores.
  • Don’t pick at or squeeze the blackheads in your ears, this can lead to inflammation, bleeding, infection, and scarring.
  • Don’t apply acne products more than recommended, this can overdry your skin, lead to an overproduction of oil, and may actually make your acne and blackheads worse.
  • When applying sunscreen or lotion to your ears, use noncomedogenic products. These types of products are specially formulated to avoid clogging pores

Key Takeaways

  • Blackheads are annoying, but you don’t have to live with them!
  • Clean ears once or twice daily with salicylic acid to loosen clogged pores. Using witch hazel or glycolic acid toners can help remove dead skin buildup.
  • Sanitize anything that touches your ears like earbuds, pillowcases and cell phone every few days to avoid a build-up of bacteria, oils, grit, and grime.
  • Say ‘no!’ to picking and popping blackheads in your ears, which can lead to inflammation, bleeding, infection and scarring.
  • If you have severe blackheads in your ears, talk to your dermatologist about prescription medication or professional extractions.

Katie Price Reveals Painful Bum Filler Side Effect After Trying To Fix Her ‘Deflated Balloon’

British media personality Katie Price opened up about recent work she has done on her behind and admitted that it left her in pain.

The 47-year-old’s Instagram admissions come after a previous post on the platform, telling her fans that she was partial to injections over the so-called Brazilian Butt Lift, which is more invasive and requires anesthesia.

Highlights

  • Katie Price says her recent bum filler left her sore, blaming a train ride for increased discomfort.
  • She uses CBD oil to manage both pain and anxiety, calling it her “best friend.”
  • Price admits to body image struggles after weight loss, saying her butt looked like a “deflated balloon.”

The star suggested the discomfort she was experiencing was due to a recent train journey, which she described as “tricky.”

“Bum filler update … I had my bum done two days ago and I’ve been feeling a bit uncomfortable in that area,” the I’m A Celebrity alum told her fans.

“So I’ve been taking this today to help with the pain and inflammation, and at night sleeping. So it’s been my best friend,” she said, holding up a bottle of CBD oil.

“I know I’m going to have a good night’s sleep again tonight cause I’m going to put some drops in it and remember when you order this shake it loads before taking it. And thank you for all your messages.”

“So yeah, this has been a godsend because I got the train up and where I’m sitting on my bum walking, and all of this, this has been a godsend, CBD oil all the way. Love it, love it, love it,” she continued her praise for the cannabis product that is also known for its use on cancer patients.

She went on to say that the oil was not only for the pain:

“I’ve been so busy recently that I have been taking my oil out and about with me in my bag for if I get anxious or if I need to take a second to myself and calm down.”

Her reason for getting the procedure was that her behind “looks like a deflated balloon”

The admission follows Price’s previous announcement pertaining to cosmetic procedures and her posterior end.

Addressing the conversation swirling around her recent weight loss, which happened so fast that many of her fans found it alarming, she said:

“Everyone is talking about it – it’s driving me mad. I’m healthy and I do eat. If you look at old, old pictures of me in the Jordan days, I was always skinny.”

She then touched on the motivation behind her decision to get the filler procedure, saying: “But today where I have lost weight, I feel, my butt looks like a deflated balloon.”

“I’ve lost loads of weight, my arse is now sagging. I’ve got to have my bum filler done here. I can’t wait. Keep tuned. It’s not happening today, but I’m doing my bum,” she said on another occasion.

More recently, in June this year, Bored Pandareported her saying during an interview with Katherine Ryan on her podcast What’s My Age Again?:

“I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your b*m. It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me.”

The Mucky Mansion star, who has had “16 procedures for her breasts, three rhinoplasties and two facelifts,” also used the opportunity to declare, “I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever.”

Her photos are causing some audiences sleepless nights

Social media has since commented on the sighting, and they feel that she is not the best advertisement for cosmetic work.

“Yet she keeps having more and more done,” observed one fan, while another claimed that they preferred the body modifications brought on by the incessant consumption of “Twix, Mars Bars, and Galaxy Ripples.”

“These photos are causing me sleepless nights,” lamented another.

One netizen tried to pick at what they perceived as an underlying reason for all her surgeries, writing: “You can’t turn back time.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack, has revealed the comment he made after his last ever performance, and it was filled with his iconic wit. The Black Sabbath icon, 76, joined his bandmates for one final time earlier this month in his hometown of Birmingham.

Jack Osbourne has revealed the final thing his dad Ozzy said to him following his farewell performance just days before the legendary rocker died aged 76

He received an epic send-off alongside by his beloved family and fellow rock icons, and he hung up his Prince of Darkness crown once and for all. Just over two weeks later, Ozzy sadly died with a statement confirming the news.

Ozzy had been surrounded by the love and support of his nearest and dearest in his final weeks, with son Jack sharing a touching insight. He told his famous father about the rave reviews he had received for his Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park.

Despite all the praise and attention, Ozzy had a very humorous response that showed he still had his blunt ways. Ozzy told his son: “Lot of f***ing good that does me. I’m retired now!”

Revealing how he was doing after the show in a now poignant interview, Jack told the Daily Mail: “Dad’s great and his mood’s really high. He’s in a really good spot right now.”

Speaking of his health issues, Ozzy’s son added: “Listen, everyone gets old, everyone slows down as you age – it’s part of the journey. I just try and support him as much as I can. We all do.”

Jack admits that the whole Osbourne family had become emotional watching Ozzu “doing his job” at Villa Park, with the family tearing up. He said that people had been reaching out to the family, showing all kinds of love for the legend.

It was announced on Tuesday that after years of battling ill health, Ozzy had died at the age of 76. A statement from the Osbourne family read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. SharonJackKelly, Aimee and Louis.” It’s claimed that Ozzy’s health had rapidly deteriorated on Tuesday morning, with an air ambulance being sent to his home in Buckinghamshire, where paramedics spent hours attempting to save him.

A local resident said they became alarmed after noticing the helicopter in the quiet village and saw it landing close to Ozzy and Sharon’s mansion.

He’s under no ‘woolly spiritual delusion’

Eswatini-born actor Richard E Grant still has an “ongoing conversation” with his late wife, Joan Washington, who died in 2021.

Her death plunged him into an “abyss of grief”. They met in 1983, and married three years later.

There is one dying wish of hers he refused to honour. A month before she died, she recorded a poem and requested Richard play it on their daughter Olivia’s wedding day.

“It would have wiped everybody out. That’s the brutal bit,” Richard shared. So, instead, someone close to the family read the poem aloud.

Such is the strength and endurance of Richard E Grant’s love for his late wife Joan Washington.

The Withnail And I star, now 68 years old, lost his life partner four years ago. Yet he still emails her regularly – nightly, even – with news of what he got up to that day.

“I have no woolly spiritual delusion that she’s hearing this, or that I’m going to get a response, but it somehow keeps the connection going,” he told Davina McCall on an episode of her Begin Again podcast earlier this year.

“So I write to her – ‘Dear J, today would really have amused you…’ It makes it feel like that person is still there – it’s an ongoing conversation.”

He lost his mother two years after Joan died

Almost exactly two years ago – and two years after Joan passed away – Richard E Grant lost his mother, too.

“Complicated gratitude to my mother, who died this morning at the age of 93, for giving me the Gift of Life,” he tweeted at the time.

“During a filming break this morning I saw that I had eight missed calls from Africa and knew weirdly why, which proved to be that my 93-year-old mother died this morning,” he said in a short video.

“We had an incredibly complicated relationship, and she was somebody that for me anyway, was emotionally withdrawn, withheld her approval of anything.

“I went to stay with her for a couple of weeks, six weeks after my wife had died, with Covid restrictions being lifted, and she sent me a very terse email at the end of the trip, saying: ‘I regret to say your visit was an absolute disaster, we only have two things in common, books and classical music,’” he said.

So, complicated indeed. But with Joan, not so.

Before she died, she challenged Richard and their daughter Olivia to find a pocketful of happiness each day. It served as a mantra by which he could navigate the “abyss of grief” that followed her passing.

He will ‘never again’ speak to people who refused to acknowledge his grief

During a conversation at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival last year, Richard said that, after Joan passed away, he has had “people cross the road rather than talk” and acknowledge his grief, per the Mail.

“Whether they think you’re going to fall apart and you’re an emotional wreck, I don’t know. But I will never speak to them again.”

He recalled a couple ignoring him when he waved to them. They had lived close to the holiday home Richard and Joan shared in Provence, France.

“As I walked towards them they both turned their heads. I thought, [bleep] you. I felt I was being punished because Joan had died. They had never acknowledged it. Maybe they didn’t know how to deal with it.”
