Jamie Lee Curtis has issued a response after an outfit left many of her fans ‘distracted’.

The Freaky Friday star is certainly no stranger to memes, and the 66-year-old has addressed many of them head on in the past.

Curtis is a no nonsense kind of character, so she was of course going to issue a cheeky response to a viral video of her discussing Freakier Friday, the much anticipated sequel to the 2003 classic that released in cinemas earlier this month.

The Oscar winner wore an outfit that she described as a costume for her Freaky Friday character, Tess Coleman.

“Forgive me, I’m distracted,” one person penned in the comments to the Instagram video posted by Disney Studios as it quickly went viral and memes came to light.

Well, Curtis issued a response to all the news earlier this week as she posted a photo of herself in the outfit doing the peace sign.

The actor captioned the post with: “LOVE the fact that the LAST photograph of me as TESS taken backstage in costume from my surprise appearance at @elcapitanthtre to support #freakierfriday has gotten more attention than any other since the announcement post with @lindsaylohan that sparked the movie getting made!

“HAPPY TO HELP SPREAD THE JOY THAT OUR MOVIE SERVES!”

The release of Freakier Friday sees Curtis reunited with Lindsay Lohan 22 years after the original movie released.

Speaking with People last month, Curtis admitted her colleague is someone she can really ‘trust’.

“If I tell her something, it’s gonna stay with her,” she said. “We’ve both been through hard things, ’cause we’re alive and life is hard. And we’re not dead yet. So the truth of our experience together, it belies all of the kind of showbizzy stuff.

“We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me.”

Lohan returned the compliment, saying of Curtis: “I have to feel safe around people. And Jamie is one of those people for me. Like, I feel very safe with you. I feel safe telling you things.

“Jamie was with me at a time in my life when I was going through a lot publicly. She was privately really there for me.”

And Curtis is seemingly on hand with advice, with Lohan detailing her colleagues words of wisdom on the set of Freaky Friday back in the day.

“You said, ‘The way you show up to set every day depicts how everyone’s day is going to go. And you set the tone. So leave everything or anything that there may be at home’,” Lohan recalled.

Kylee Monteiro, from Rehoboth, Massachusetts, was reported missing by Rehoboth Police on August 7.

The teenager was three months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, and after a two-week intensive search, her 22-year-old boyfriend, Gregory Groom, was arrested on Tuesday (August 19).

After his arrest, human remains believed to belong to Monterio were discovered on his property in his backyard.

The charges against Groom include murder, assault and battery on a pregnant victim, aggravated intimidation of a witness, juror, police or court official and assault and battery on a family or household member in connection with Monterio’s death – which he has pled not guilty to at his arraignment in Taunton District Court on Wednesday (August 20).

According to prosecutor Jason Mohan, it all began on August 8 when Groom came to the police and reported Kylee missing.

Mohan said that Groom claimed to investigators that Kylee had just left a residential program, took a rideshare to his home on August 6, and was looking to stay with him.

It was then, he says, that she also told him that she was pregnant with his child.

Following this, Mohan says, an argument allegedly broke out about where Kylee could stay, and afterwards, she sent a text to her sister, which was read aloud in court (via CBS News).

It said: “He threw me on the ground and pulled my hair and strangled me. My phones at 4 percent, if I die it was Greg.”

Upon his arrest, Groom was interviewed again by police, where Mohan claims he admitted to having an argument with his girlfriend, pushing her and claimed that she fell back and hit her head.

He was then allegedly asked where her body was buried and drew a ‘rudimentary map’ of his home and where her body lay.

Mohan also claimed that Groom then told investigators that he’d killed Kylee after an argument, stabbing her three times with a kitchen knife, once in the chest and twice in the neck.

Upon inspection of the property, officials discovered a patch of dirt which appeared to be recently disturbed, where they located the body.

An autopsy is set to go ahead to give a final confirmation of death. Groom is currently being held without bail and is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on September 10.

Carl Westcott sold his property in Santa Barbara to Perry – via her business manager Bernie Gudvi – back in 2020 for $15 million.

However, days later, the veteran tried to go back on his decision, arguing he hadn’t been of ‘sound mind’ at the time of the sale.

Westcott suffers from the neurological condition, Huntington’s disease, which is an inherited condition that gets worse over time.

It affects movement, memory and thinking and cannot be cured.

A lawsuit followed, but a judge ruled in favor of Perry and said there was evidence demonstrating that Westcott was ‘coherent, engaged, lucid, and rational’ when signing the contract.

Perry then countersued Westcott, claiming that he owes her $3.25 million in damages because she was unable to rent out the property between September 2020 to March 2024.

An additional $2.29 million has also been added as they claim the property needs to be restored to the condition it was purchased in. The trial was split into two parts and resumed on Thursday (August 21).

Now, actor Chris Pratt has been dragged into the ongoing drama, due to the fact he is currently renting the property from Perry.

Westcott’s legal team has reportedly asked the judge to question Pratt on the damages associated with the property.

Court docs seen by Fox News Digital explain: “Now, just before the Phase 2 Trial, there is new, never-before disclosed evidence that Perry has rented out the Westcott Property to the actor Chris Pratt and his wife (the daughter of Maria Shriver, who the Court will recall from Cristal Clarke’s Phase 1 Trial testimony was bidding against Perry in 2020 to buy the Westcott Property, which is why Perry increased her original $13.5 offer to Westcott to the agreed-on $15 million price).

“The $2.29 million in estimated repairs was bogus and Perry was able to rent the Westcott Property as-is to Chris Pratt (for what some have rumored to be $150,000 in rent just for this summer).”

Legal expert Christopher C. Melcher explained the claims to Fox News, adding: “Westcott’s defense is that the home could not have had mold and other major issues because Perry rented the place to Chris Pratt.

“But repairs could have been made by Perry before renting the home to Pratt,” he noted. “If so, the subsequent condition of the home when Pratt was a tenant is not relevant to what the home looked like when Perry got the keys.”

Westcott’s son has also recently spoken out about the ongoing court battle, telling the New York Post: “Katy could’ve walked away at any time with grace and humanity. Instead, she has chosen to fight a dying man in court, all for money. OK, that’s who we’re dealing with here. He is bedridden. He has late-stage dementia and Huntington’s. His ability to speak kind of ebbs and flows. Some days are better than others.”

Billy Ray and Tish decided to go their separate ways in 2022, after which Billy Ray entered another brief marriage with the singer Firerose, while Tish went on to marry Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell.

Following their split, rumors emerged that there was a rift between the family, fuelled when fans noticed that Miley appeared to be missing from Billy Ray’s wedding with Firerose, despite being in attendance at Tish’s marriage to Purcell.

Miley also failed to mention her father in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech, though she did thank her mom, her sister Brandi and her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

Miley’s sister Noah has now addressed all the speculation surrounding her famous family, though she admitted to People she does her best to stay out of it.

“I keep myself quite separated from any interest or ‘drama’ with the family,” she explained. “The one thing that’s connected us with the entire world is music, and that’s what’s the most important to us.

“Yeah, it emotionally is draining, but it doesn’t hurt us or touch us. It’s something that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself.”

Noah went on to assure that the family is in a good place, saying that ‘everybody’s great and loves each other’.

Stressing that despite being in the spotlight, they’re still a family unit, she continued: “I think when you grow up with that being normal — things being public — that it doesn’t quite reach you. At the end of the day, this is a family, and that’s really it: just going through normal family stuff.”

Noah’s latest album, titled ‘I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me’, features references to her family, with one lyric in particular reading: “The words that were spoken / Mean nothing to me.”

“I think that really sums up a relationship with a sibling,” she said. “There’s so many times, especially in my relationship with my siblings growing up, you fight and you say things — but that’s your family, and they’re always going to be there for you, and I’m lucky enough to say that that’s been my case with me and my siblings and my family.”

Elsewhere in the album, Noah has featured a sample of a hymn written by her great-grandfather and sung by her paternal grandfather, while another track is the first song her dad Billy Ray ever wrote.

“It really was beautiful to have that bloodline [running] through the record,” Noah said.

Debbie Stevens, 47, from Long Island, said she felt ‘betrayed’ after she was dismissed by her employer back in 2012.

“I decided to become a kidney donor to my boss, and she took my heart,’’ Debbie told The Post at the time.

“I feel very betrayed. This has been a very hurtful and horrible experience for me. She just took this gift and put it on the ground and kicked it.’’

Legal papers revealed how Debbie first met her boss Jackie Brucia in January 2009, when she started working at Atlantic Automotive Group in Long Island.

While she left in 2010 after moving away, she later returned to Long Island and popped into the office where she learned that Brucia needed a kidney transplant.

Stevens claimed that Brucia told her that a possible donor had been located, but explained that if she needed to, she would be happy to donate one of her kidneys to her former colleague.

“Brucia… told her, ‘You never know, I may have to take you up on that offer one day,’” the papers explain.

Not long after the conversation, Stevens decided to move back to Long Island and asked Brucia if she could resume her old job.

Once she was working at the company again, Brucia called her into her office.

According to Stevens, Brucia said: “My donor was denied. Were you serious when you said that?’ I said, ‘Sure, yeah.’ She was my boss, I respected her. It’s just who I am. I didn’t want her to die.”

Although Stevens wasn’t a match for Brucia, doctors allowed her to donate her kidney to somebody else so that Brucia would move up the waiting list.

“I felt I was giving her life back,” she said.

“My kidney ended up going to St. Louis, Missouri, and hers came from San Francisco.”

Stevens explained that following the surgery, she experienced complications and felt pressured to return to work.

One day, after leaving the office unwell, she claims that Brucia called her from home, explaining: “She… said, ‘What are you doing? Why aren’t you at work?’ I told her I didn’t feel good.

“She said, ‘You can’t come and go as you please. People are going to think you’re getting special treatment.’”

Stevens claimed that she was stripped of her office and overtime opportunities, was later demoted to a dealership 50 miles from her home and suffered with mental health issues.

“She just started treating me horribly, viciously, inhumanly after the surgery,” Stevens told ABCNews.com.

“It was almost like she hired me just to get my kidney.”

Her legal team later wrote a letter to the company, after which she was fired.

At the time, AAG and Brucia did not respond to requests for comment from ABC News or The Post.

However, Brucia’s husband, James, told one reporter that claims were ‘far from the truth’ adding that she ‘didn’t fire anybody’.
