Psychologists have issued a warning for anyone who owns a Labubu.

If you’ve taken a stroll through any shopping district recently, chances are high that you’ve spotted a Labubu dangling from someone’s backpack or purse.

These toys, which sit comfortably alongside Squishmallows, Jellycats, and Sonny Angels, have become iconic symbols of the booming ‘trinket culture’ that has captured Gen Z’s imagination.

Even a visit to McDonald’s reveals its reach, with Happy Meals now featuring collectible Squishmallows.

Meanwhile, platforms like Whatnot are experiencing explosive growth in live sales related to Labubu and similar items.

According to Daniel Fisher, Head of Categories at Whatnot, per Tyla: “Labubu live sales alone have increased 300% month-on-month since March,” and the number of sellers dealing in Labubu has doubled in that same time frame.

Tyla investigated the psychological and consumer-driven forces behind this wave by consulting both psychologists and brand experts.

What they uncovered goes far deeper than mere consumer preference or social media hype.

Chartered clinical psychologist Tracy King believes the surge in interest is a direct reflection of Gen Z’s emotional landscape.

“On the surface, they’re fun and whimsical. But psychologically, they’re deeply symbolic: these objects offer small, accessible moments of comfort, control, and identity in an unpredictable world,” she explained.

King elaborates that traditional life milestones, like buying a home or climbing the career ladder, have become increasingly elusive.

“The old idea of the career ladder offered a sense of linear progression… But for Gen Z, that ladder has been replaced with something more like an escape room,” she noted.

Economic instability, the climate crisis, and growing up during the pandemic have only amplified these uncertainties.

“In this landscape, collectibles become something you can control. They’re emotionally grounding, they provide joy in manageable doses, and they often connect you to the community,” said King. “Buying a plushie in a strawberry hat becomes nervous system regulation.”

Psychologist Dr. Daniel Glazer supports this view, describing the purchase of such items as a way Gen Z reclaims control in a world where traditional milestones seem indefinitely postponed.

“They redirect modest discretionary cash toward ‘micro-luxuries’ that deliver immediate control and joy,” he said.

Some may question the maturity of adults purchasing toys usually targeted at children, but Dr. King rejects that notion.

“It’s not out of immaturity… This is inner child work in action,” she said, explaining that these soft, playful objects evoke feelings of safety and nostalgia.

She also believes the trend is here to stay: “Trinket culture is a response to burnout and disconnection. It’s not a shallow trend. It’s a psychological response to the demands of modern life.”

With big names like Dua Lipa and Lisa from Blackpink incorporating Labubus into their personal style, the popularity of these collectibles is unlikely to fade.

Fisher added: “Fans aren’t just collecting, but rather curating, trading, and sharing them live, turning each stream into a social event.”

In other words, the rise of trinket culture isn’t just about cute toys, but a meaningful way Gen Z is coping with a world that often feels overwhelming.

Judge Frank Caprio, beloved for viral court videos, dies at 88 from pancreatic cancer

Judge Frank Caprio, who is known for his heartwarming viral court moments, has died. He was 88.

According to a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the former Providence, Rhode Island, judge “passed away peacefully at the age of 88 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.”

“Beloved for his compassion, humility, and unwavering belief in the goodness of people, Judge Caprio touched the lives of millions through his work in the courtroom and beyond,” the statement continued. “His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.”

The statement went on and said that he “will be remembered not only as a respected judge, but as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. His legacy lives on in the countless acts of kindness he inspired. In his honor, may we strive to bring a little more compassion into the world — just as he did every day.”

Many may know Caprio from his TV show, “Caught in Providence,” in which clips from the series have gone viral on social media.

Caprio became known as the “nicest judge in the world” for his compassion in the courtroom and the leniency he provided to those who needed it most.

The show aired in 2000 and earned four Daytime Emmy nominations.

“Compassion, understanding and sympathy really emanates from my upbringing, my early childhood,” Caprio told “GMA3” in February while he was promoting his book, “Compassion in the Court: Life-Changing Stories From America’s Nicest Judge.” “My parents were from Italy and they took care of all the neighbors and helped them, and it was those influences that really influenced my life.”

“Sometimes you can change somebody’s life just by placing your hand on your shoulder and telling them you believe in them,” Caprio told NBC Boston in 2024.

Born on Nov. 23, 1936, Caprio grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, where he would go on to serve as a municipal court judge nearly 50 years later, according to his website.

Prior to law, he taught American government at Hope High School in Providence. While teaching, he also attended night school at Suffolk University School of Law in Boston.

He served as a Providence Municipal Court Judge from 1985 to 2023.

In December 2023, shortly after his 87th birthday, Caprio shared an emotional video on social media revealing his cancer diagnosis.

“I would ask each of you in your own way to please pray for me,” he began in the video at the time. “Quite recently, I was not feeling well and received a medical examination and the report was not a good one.”

“I have been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, which is an insidious form of cancer,” he continued.

Caprio said that he was being treated for the disease.

“I know this is a long road and I’m fully prepared to fight as hard as I can,” he added and thanked his followers for their kind messages. “I am in need for the power of prayer which I believe in addition to medical treatment that I’m receiving, is the most powerful weapon to help me survive this. Just knowing that you were keeping me in your thoughts means the world to me.”

In May 2024, Caprio completed his last radiation treatment, sharing on social media that he rang the bell at Baptist Health Cancer Care to mark the occasion.

In one of his last videos on his official Instagram page, which was shared on Tuesday, Caprio said he had a “setback” and was back in the hospital. He asked his followers to “remember me in your prayers once more.”

“I ask you again if it’s not too much to remember me in your prayers,” he said.

Caprio is survived by his wife, Joyce Caprio, of almost 60 years, their five children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, according to his website.

A warning has been issued for a number of animals recently 😳

‘Mutant deer’ spotted with terrifying flesh bubbles as fears grow of animal outbreak in the US

‘Mutant deer’ spotted with terrifying flesh bubbles as fears grow of animal outbreak in the US

What ever next? Crows with three eyes?

The ‘mutant species’ trend across America continues with ‘black-bubbled’ deer.

Even though we’ve all only just recovered from Colorado’s poor ‘Frankenstein rabbits’ and ‘zombie’ squirrels, now it’s time to introduce some other growth-ravaged mammals over in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Pictures spreading – for lack of a better word – through social media showcase several warty deer going about their business.

One person took to Reddit to share a deer that they’d spotted in their backyard a month ago, writing: “Not sure what’s wrong with her or how we can help. Gunshot wound? Tumor? Fireworks? Prion disease? Don’t know what to do.”

Meanwhile, another posted a picture of a deer with a few lumps on its chest and face to ask, ‘what’s wrong with this deer?’

Well, what’s wrong with these deer?

What is deer fibroma?

The 'flesh bubbles' are a result of a virus (Reddit)

The ‘flesh bubbles’ are a result of a virus (Reddit)

According to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, these fatty lumps are the result of a condition called deer fibroma, which they say is caused by ‘a species-specific papillomavirus’ – similar to the cottontail rabbit papilloma virus (CRPV) affecting bunnies.

The website continues: “These manifest as firm, warty growths fixed to the skin of a deer. They vary in size (though most are just a few centimeters in diameter), are typically dark in color and bare of fur, and often appear fissured or lumpy.”

They add that most infected deers ‘have just a small number of small fibromas, but cases of large fibromas and fibromas widespread about the hide are not uncommon’.

Is deer fibroma contagious to humans?

Similar to CRPV, deer fibroma cannot be spread to humans or other animals outside of other deer.

Dr. Kristin Mansfield, a wildlife veterinarian in Washington state, told FOX13 that deer can spread the virus to one another by sharing either the same feeding ground, sleeping spot, or rubbing posts – typically a tree bucks use to mark their territory during mating season.

They can, however, initiate illnesses such as Lyme disease in populated areas, which crosses species through the ticks they carry.

Mercifully, the animals’ immune system beats away the virus, and the warts eventually shrink and disappear after a few months.

Can deer fibroma be treated?

The virus cannot cross over to humans, thankfully (Reddit)

The virus cannot cross over to humans, thankfully (Reddit)

So far, there is no effective treatment for the condition, with it being possible for lumps on captive animals to be removed surgically.

However, the best course of action is to leave the infected deer be. In worst-case scenarios, if the warts are rendering the deer unable to eat, move or see, then euthanasia is considered as a possible option.

What is possibly causing the rise in ‘animal mutations’?

One of the possible reasons why these conditions are spreading is climate change, as warmer weather is allowing mosquitoes and ticks to thrive.

Alluding to the ramifications of climate change, Dr. Omer Awan of the University of Maryland School of Medicine told The Daily Mail: “These temperature changes are resulting in diseases that were never endemic in certain areas to become endemic.

“If you take a look at Lyme disease, for example, we’re starting to see it in areas that we never saw it before… places like southern Canada, northern states on the East Coast, like Maine.

“People are starting to talk about it more, they’re starting to document it more on social media, and hence, there’s been a lot more discussion about this.”

Concerning theory why Burger King employee was fired after running entire store alone for a shocking 12 hours

Concerning theory why Burger King employee was fired after running entire store alone for a shocking 12 hours

Nykia Hamilton worked at the fast-food chain’s Columbia, South Carolina, branch when she was told she was getting the axe just a month later

A Burger King employee who went viral as customers filmed her running an entire restaurant for 12 hours on her own has got the sack, and people believe they know why.

Nykia Hamilton was manning each station inside the fast-food chain’s establishment in Columbia, South Carolina, last month when she rose to internet stardom.

A clip uploaded to TikTok saw a customer hailing the mom-of-three for her hard work, as all her colleagues failed to show up for work.

“[She’s] doing the fries, the burger, the chicken sandwiches. She’s doing everything by herself,” the customer said in the recording.

“She’s doing everything she needs to do to make sure everybody is OK in here.”

But despite her efforts, she was informed by higher-ups that she was being made redundant due to tardiness.

“[Burger King] fired me because I’ve been late because of my kids,” the 25-year-old told Watch Fox 57. “My kids come first. Y’all don’t pay for no babysitter, or nothing.”

Heartbreakingly, Nykia was working two jobs trying to make ends meet for her three young children before receiving the axe.

Burger King is yet to issue a statement on Nykia’s sacking, and people are beginning to speculate over why she was cut from the payroll.

One concerning theory posted on Reddit read: “Well, she’s clearly embarrassing the company, so corporate had to fire her before she again reveals they underpay and understaff. What sucks is that it wasn’t even her doing for going viral.”

With a second typing: “So she got fired for putting BK in a bad light which they created themselves by understaffing the restaurant?”

While it’s just sheer speculation, Nykia did speak with news outlets after blowing up – which people believe could have spurred on her sacking.

Nykia Hamilton shared how she received the sack after turning up for work late due to her kids (WACH Fox 57)

“Note that she did nothing wrong, she wasn’t filming, she was just doing her job. And everyone else’s job,” someone commented.

With someone else posting: “A great parable of the times. If you go above and beyond: you barely justify your existence.”

Before others highlighted that she did actually provide the reason for her sacking.

“She got fired for being late to work,” another informed users.

While another added: “She doesn’t dispute it, she just says how hard it is to work and raise kids.”

GoFundMe has been set up to support Nykia and her family.

It reads: “I am a 25-year-old single mom of 3 who works 2 jobs. I just went viral for working on TikTok. If you wanna contribute, it’s OK. Thank y’all for the support.

“I wasn’t expecting my life to change how it did. I really do everything for my kids.”

Taylor Swift defended after being told to delete new album picture as offended men complain it’s ‘disgusting’

The Life of a Showgirl is set to drop in just a few months’ time (3 October)

Taylor Swift has been fiercely defended by fans after being told to delete her latest album pictures, as a bunch of internet trolls complained that they were ‘disgusting’.

While, for the most part, there’s been nothing but hype and praise online for the 35-year-old ‘Bad Blood’ singer ever since she released the cover art for her upcoming album, some people have taken it upon themselves to slam and shame her for allegedly being a ‘bad influence’ on her younger fans.

Now, in case you’re not in the loop, Taylor’s new album set to come out this autumn (3 October) is titled The Life of a Showgirl and it has the cover art to match the whole ‘showgirl’ theme.

Yep, that means bedazzled bodysuits, fur, headdresses, feathers and – shock horror – some skin on show – all of which are bang-on theme if you ask us.

In a new batch of photos, which were shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and released on Monday (18 August), Taylor could be seen wearing a glitzy red and black bodysuit and matching arm sleeves with nude fishnet tights arching forwards with her two hands against a wall with her right leg slightly in front of the left.

Needless to say, an avalanche of keyboard warriors absolutely lost their sh*t with one X user jabbing: “This is a family-friendly platform and this post is disgusting. There are children on here and you should delete this graphic post.”

You’re on Twitter, babes, it’s not exactly ‘family-friendly’.

“This is obscene and indecent,” slammed a second, while a third piped up: “This is the role model for young girls? You need Jesus.”

And a final troll declared: “You know she is failing when she starts exposing skin.”

Some online critics were left completely outraged over Taylor's latest album pics (Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott)

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for fans to call out such rhetoric with many specifically hitting out over the final comment.

“Yeah, I bet we all wish we could ‘fail’ like she does,” penned one fan.

A second sarcastically quipped: “Do showgirls normally dress conservatively?”

She's definitely stuck to the whole 'showgirl' theme! (Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott)

“Insert insecure male comment here,” joked a third, while a fourth pointed out: “Lol she’s at the peak of her career.”

Another added: “She just finished the highest-grossing tour in history.”

And a final X user highlighted: “She’s a billionaire with the largest fan base in modern history and you’re a troll.”

And, thankfully, this isn’t the first time Swifties have come out in full force to defend their beloved pop icon and hopefully it won’t be the last!

Why Blackheads Form in Your Ears and How to Treat Them

Why Blackheads Form in Your Ears and How to Treat Them
Why Blackheads Form in Your Ears and How to Treat Them

Why Blackheads Form in Your Ears and How to Treat Them Before It’s Too Big

Your ears are particularly susceptible to blackheads because they often aren’t given the same preventive treatment as your face. Treatment can include exfoliation and acne treatments.

Blackheads are one form of acne, a type of inflammatory skin condition that’s caused by clogged pores. While blackheads are commonly linked to areas of the “T-zone” (chin, nose, and forehead), they can occur anywhere.

Unlike other types of acne, such as cysts, blackheads aren’t linked to bacteria. They’re caused by a combination of oil (sebum), dead skin cells, and dirt that clog your pores and create a hardened substance. The top of the pore is left open, and the plugged material oxidizes into a darkened color.

Read on to learn how blackheads are formed and how to treat them on your ears.

What causes blackheads?

Everyone has oil glands — in fact, these are necessary for natural skin hydration. Oil glands only become problematic if they become overactive and produce too much sebum. This is most often the case in people with oily or combination skin types.

The following risk factors can also increase your number of clogged pores, leading to more blackheads:

  • hormonal fluctuations
  • prescription medications
  • stress
  • family history

Although whiteheads also stem from clogged pores, they have closed heads. This creates the white cap that you see on the skin.

What treatment options are available?

You’ll follow the same steps to get rid of a blackhead in your ear as you would for blackheads on other parts of your body. The difference, though, is that the skin on your ears is more sensitive, and you also can’t see the area easily.

Consistency is also important — it can be easy to forget your ears compared to more visible areas, such as your face.

1. Wash your ears

One of the best ways to remove the excess oils and dirt that can build up in your ears is to wash them every day. This is easy to do in the shower, and you may even be able to use your regular face cleanser. You can use your fingers or a soft washcloth.

Choose gentle foaming, oil-free products, such as:

Avoid over-scrubbing your ears, as this can irritate your skin and cause more acne.

2. Exfoliate the area

You may already know that exfoliation is important for your face and body. It helps to remove dead skin cells that dull your skin tone and clog your pores. This also includes your ears. You can gently exfoliate the delicate skin surrounding your ears once a week. This is best to do the shower.

Apply the exfoliating wash with your fingers and rub gently. The following products may help:

3. Apply acne medication

Certain over-the-counter (OTC) acne medications can also help unplug blackheads in and around your sensitive ears. Salicylic acid is a helpful OTC medication that works by unclogging pores and stripping away dead skin cells. Other acne medications like benzoyl peroxide are also useful.

Salicylic acid is available in numerous acne products. Astringents and toners are the most common, although some cleansers have it, too. When using a salicylic acid-based cleanser, such as Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash, use this in place of a regular cleanser in the shower.

You can also use your regular cleanser and follow up with an astringent, such as Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astringent. When using an astringent, use once a day to start. If your skin doesn’t develop any irritation, you can apply twice daily in your ears with a cotton ball or Q-tip.

4. Consider extraction

Extraction may be a last resort for stubborn blackheads in the ear. Rather than using fingernails or bobby pins, you’ll want to buy an extraction tool that won’t leave marks or cuts on your skin.

Still, even professional-grade extraction tools can be difficult to use in your ears. You should:

  1. First, press a warm washcloth on the area to soften the plugged pore.
  2. Use a sterilized extractor by pressing the metal loop on the edge of the blackhead. Then, sweep it across to extract it.
  3. Be sure you don’t press the tool directly onto your blackhead — this can cause your sensitive ear skin to tear.
  4. Wash your ear and sterilize the extractor again after you’re done.
When to see your dermatologist

Although at-home blackhead removal methods can work for some people, it doesn’t work in all cases. If your blackheads come back in your ears, or if you have a widespread case throughout the area, it may be time to see your dermatologist.

A dermatologist can help with ear blackheads in a few different ways. With professional extraction tools, they can first remove the blackheads safely and thoroughly. This could be much more effective than doing the extractions yourself since you may not be able to see inside or behind your ear very well.

If you have recurring blackheads in the ears and other areas of the body, your dermatologist may prescribe acne medication. Keep in mind though that many of these products can make your skin sensitive to the sun, so be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen to avoid burns.

How to prevent future blackheads from forming

Another way to get rid of blackheads in your ear is to help prevent them in the first place. Such a task is dependent on keeping your ears clean and free of excess oil. Most of the treatments don’t treat the blackhead itself but prevent others from forming. Consider the following steps:

You should:

  • Wash your ears every day. Removing excess oil from your ears can reduce the number of clogged pores in the area.
  • Shampoo your hair daily. This helps prevent oil that and dirt buildup from your hair going into your ears. If you must skip a wash, use a dry shampoo and keep your hair pulled back.
  • Wash and clean items that touch your ears weekly. These include earbuds, pillow cases, cell phones, and other items your ears are regularly exposed to.
  • Use noncomedogenic skin care products on your ears. Whether you apply the occasional body lotion or sunscreen on your ears, going noncomedogenic means that you’re using products that won’t clog pores.
  • Avoid popping blackheads with your fingers or nails. Ultimately, this can cause irritation and may lead to further breakouts. Scarring can also occur.
  • Don’t apply acne products more than recommended. The skin in and around your ears is sensitive and more prone to irritation from too many acne products. Plus, if you dry out your skin too much, your oil glands can produce even more sebum that can lead to even more blackheads.

Sharon Stone details surprise date with this notable rapper and it’s left people absolutely speechless

Sharon Stone has opened up about the rumor

Sharon Stone has revealed she once went on a date with a famous rapper.

The 67-year-old Golden Globe Award winner has left fans stunned after dropping the bombshell that she once shared a brief romance with a notable musician.

The Basic Instinct actress made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen alongside fellow Nobody 2 co-star Bob Odenkirk, where she and the Better Call Saul actor were asked a whole bunch of quick-fire questions about themselves.

During the show, Cohen asked the Total Recall star to clarify a rumor about her dating life.

Stone was asked if she had ever dated the ‘Hot in Here’ hitmaker Nelly, now 50.

Before she could even answer, Cohen guessed her response, stating: “I mean, this is crazy enough that I actually might believe it.”

Odenkirk, 62, also butted in: “I’m going to say yeah.”

After a long pause, Stone finally confessed: “Yes, I did,” while the studio audience gasped.

Cohen then pressed: “Did you have a second date?” to which Stone shook her head before saying: “No, I did not.”

The surprising admission comes as Stone has endured quite a few romances over the years.

The Casino star first tied the knot with TV producer Michael Greenburg in 1984 after meeting him on the set of The Vegas Strip War.

After their divorce in 1990, Stone met William J. MacDonald on the set of the movie Silver.

Despite the pair sharing a whirlwind romance, which saw MacDonald leave his wife for Stone and propose to the actress, they separated a year later in 1994.

That same year, Stone met assistant director Bob Wagner, with whom they became engaged, but the relationship fell through.

Four years later, she married Phil Bronstein, during which she tragically suffered several miscarriages and was unable to conceive children due to suffering from an autoimmune disease and endometriosis.

The couple adopted a son, Roan, 25, in 2000, and went their separate ways in 2003. Stone went on to adopt two more sons, Laird, now 20, in 2005, and Quinn, 19, in 2006.

Now, the mom-of-three is reportedly single and admitted in January that finding love hasn’t been easy for her.

Speaking to The Times last year, she revealed she’d had some pretty horrific dates, including a date with a ‘heroin addict’ to another that left her feeling ‘like a therapist’ as she coached him through his divorce.

Still, she hasn’t given up, telling the outlet she has joined Tinder, adding: “This is the year that I want to fall in love — 100 percent.”

As for Nelly, the musician married fellow rapper Ashanti in 2023, with whom he shares a son, Kareen, 13 months.

He is also father to four other children: daughter Chanelle, 31, son Cornell, 26, whom he shares with ex Channetta Valentines, and son Shawn, 27, and Sydney, 19, whom he adopted from his sister, Jackie Donahue, after she died in 2005 of leukaemia..

We charged guests up to $1,000 to attend our wedding – and made $132,000 in profit

A couple have revealed how they made a £132,000 profit after charging guests up to $1,000 to attend their wedding.

Marley Jaxx, 34, and her husband, Steve J. Larsen, 37, from Boise, Idaho, were shocked by the cost of a wedding after researching venues – including a $650 cake-cutting fee at one venue.

Marley initially joked about charging people to attend their wedding to cover the costs of their dream big do, but Steve then warmed up to the idea.

The couple told friends and family that if they wanted to attend the event, they would have to pay.

Guests could purchase a basic $57 (£42) ticket for the wedding day, or a three-day experience for two tickets priced at $997 (£735) – which included access to the wedding day, a charity rehearsal dinner, and a biohacking brunch.

Three hundred guests attended the celebrations, covering the $50,000 wedding cost and raising $132,550 (£98,000), which will be donated to charity Village Impact.

Marley, an entrepreneur, said: ‘Most people got it. Of course there were people who did a double take and were like ”wait, what?”

‘One friend of mine didn’t like it, and he didn’t hold back either. We debated it, and in the end, he said he understood.

‘Other responses we had were from people saying that if we can’t afford a big wedding, then don’t do it.

‘It was never about what we could afford. It was about a different way of doing things.’

Steve proposed on January 1, 2025, on an ice rink in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by their family and friends and the pair got straight to planning their special day.

When they were researching venues, they were shocked by the pricing they were seeing, so they floated the idea of selling tickets.

Steve, an entrepreneur, said: ‘We decided to charge because we started making a big list of everyone who we wanted to come.

‘We were paying per head, lots of people wanted to come. We wanted a big party, but the cost kept getting higher and higher.

‘We said instead of people getting us a gift, or donating to a honeymoon fund – pay for your meal, and you can come party with us.

‘For us, it was all about doing a different way of doing things, and changing how people think about weddings.’

Marley said: ‘The people who were at the wedding wanted to be there. Guests were commenting on how peaceful it was.

‘It changed the feeling of the wedding. I thought it would be stressful, but it was peaceful.

‘One of the guests said that when people get a wedding invitation, there is an obligation to go.

‘But when you choose to pay, it is a different feeling – it shows how much they appreciate you.’

During the celebrations, Marley and Steve raised money for Village Impact – a charity providing community-led education, leadership, and economic opportunities in Kenya.

Marley and Steve said that they were ‘thrilled’ with how the wedding went

The couple said the opportunities for guests to donate were through bracelets made by kids in Kenya, a silent auction with art from Ugandan artists, and even a few guests committing to join them on their trip to Africa to build the school in July 2026.

Steve said: ‘In total, we raised around $130k, and all that money is going to Village Impact.

‘A large portion of that money was through guests donating $15k to come join us in Kenya in 2026 to help build schools.

‘Hundreds of kids will get a classroom and that will have come through our wedding.’

Despite the backlash on social media, Marley said they were ‘frugal’ for their wedding – spending less than $50,000 for 300 guests.

Marley said: ‘I am so thrilled with how it went. I hope that any bride can say that there was nothing they wanted to change about their wedding day.

‘We had family who traveled from all over, our three daughters did public speaking, which we were super proud of.

‘Everyone was dancing, we had such a great time.’

Joan Collins, 92, targeted by trolls as she poses in white swimsuit Accused of setting ‘unrealistic expectations’?

Joan Collins looks concerned

News

Trolls have taken aim at Hollywood legend Joan Collins after she shared a stunning Instagram shot showing her in a white swimsuit.

Dynasty star Joan looked super-chic as she showed off her figure during a spot of sunbathing in St Tropez.

However, the pic of the 92-year-old actress was slammed by some social media users for allegedly being ‘touched up’. But while it was claimed the image of the glam film actress set “unrealistic expectations”, others felt the “filter police” were being too harsh.

As she uploaded the snap to her Insta account, The Stud star Joan indicated in her caption her thoughts are never that far from working, even in her nineties.

“Thinking of my next move or next movie!” she said, having noted she’d consider a potential project with “shades of Agatha Christie and Murder She Wrote”.

However, Joan also highlighted how she does very well with her downtime too, sharing: “Meanwhile, I’m relaxing in the South of France in 90° heat.”

She accessorised her sunseeker look with wide-brimmed red hat, keeping her head and face in the shade. However, going by the comments section of her post, users were more interested in making remarks about a different aspect of Joan’s appearance.

How fans reacted

Many of Joan’s celebrity pals offered her compliments, including Piers Morgan who wrote: “Lovely pic!”

Other Insta users were more forthright and not as courteous, even if they agreed that Joan’s appearance belies her years.

“Gorgeous but heavily filtered,” one commenter alleged, bluntly.

They went on: “Let’s be honest. Her skin in real life is not like this. Don’t appreciate unrealistic expectations for someone in her decade.”

That remark provoked a wave of responses from other users. “Totally agree,” said one respondent. “True I prefer the real Joanie because that’s who she is and gorgeous in her own right. That to me means more than filters,” chipped in someone else.

Another supporter else indicated Joan’s personality shines through, writing: “Who is looking at her skin? She is a gorgeous person.”

Meanwhile, someone else tried to make sense of Insta reality: “Either the picture is old and has just been posted now or it is photoshopped. I doubt anyone born in 1933 looks like this now.”

‘Leave her be’

However, other users furiously insisted whether filters were applied to the image or not is irrelevant.

“There are youngsters and young influencers out there swathed in filters – are you on their pages making these same comments?” one demanded. They continued: “Joan is all about the glam and if she wants to post a super-glam pic of herself using filters when EVERY young person out there is doing it, why the hell shouldn’t she? Leave her be.”

We don’t need the filter police trying to turn this into something negative.

Another person defended the possible use of photo tweaks: “For God’s sake, she’s 92! She’s always taken care of herself and looks great. WHO CARES IF SHE USES FILTERS? Go complain about someone that’s 18 or 25 filtered to smithereens. She’s 92! We don’t need the filter police trying to turn this into something negative.”

And yet another fan dismissed the criticism by claiming: “Of course it is filtered. The top photo and swimsuit photo don’t match. But who cares? She is so talented, and she has beauty from within. And quite frankly, she just radiates glamour. At her age, looking forward to doing another movie is simply amazing. I wish I had half her energy. God bless her and wish her well.”

The Coldplay frontman shared a warning to fans as they prepared the jumbotron

Coldplay are still doing the rounds with their huge, on-stage jumbotron, and frontman Chris Martin isn’t shy about addressing the scandal it recently caused.

The band got together at Sewell Group Craven Park in Hull, England this week, just over a month after the viral moment took place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 16.

There’s a very slim chance you’ve not seen it, but if you happen to have been stuck in a cave for the last few weeks, allow me to remind you.

Coldplay were showing off some of their fans on their huge ‘jumbotron’, also referred to as a ‘kiss cam’, when the camera cut to a man named Andy Byron, who was at that time CEO of the New York-based company Astronomer.

Byron appeared to have his arms around Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer of Astronomer, who was leaning back into Byron and holding his hands. However, when the pair appeared on the camera, they quickly ducked and sought to get off-screen.

Not realizing at the time that Byron was married, Martin said: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”

In the wake of the viral moment, Martin decided to address the situation head-on when he appeared in front of fans in Hull.

In a video, which has been shared on Reddit, he said: “This is called a jumbotron, and we’ve done this for a long long time, and we pick people out to say hello, and sometimes they – yeah, they turn out to be internationally massive scandal, sure.”

Martin continued: “But most of the time we’re just trying to say hello to f**king people, that’s all. Now all of this bullsh*t.”

Martin went on to send his love to ‘those people’, before warning fans that the jumbotron was coming.

“We’re going to do our f**king kiss cam… so if you’re not prepared to be on international news, please duck,” he joked.

Also in Hull, Martin told the crowd: “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. We are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”

After the video of Byron and Cabot went viral, Astronomer announced in a post on LinkedIn that the CEO had ‘tendered his resignation’, adding: “The Board of Directors has accepted.”

Coldplay will perform at Wembley Stadium for 10 show dates from August 19 to September 8, 2025. You can buy tickets on the following sites: StubHubViagogo, and TicketNetwork.
