This TV personality once stood in grocery lines, humiliated as she struggled to feed her siblings with food stamps while her mother succumbed to addiction. Today, she is a renowned TV chef. Take a look at her incredible journey from hardship to triumph.

Before becoming a beloved TV chef, this woman faced a childhood shaped by adversity. As the eldest of five children, she took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings while her mother struggled with addiction.

Despite these early hurdles, her path took a turn for the better, leading her to become a prominent figure on television and a beloved chef. Take a look at her remarkable journey from being on welfare to becoming a success story and giving back to those in need.

A Challenging Childhood

This famous TV personality grew up in a tumultuous home as her mother battled addiction and mental health issues. “She just would not come out of the bedroom or not get out of bed,” the famous chef revealed in an interview.

With her stepfather absent and her mother unwell, the famous blonde was still just a young girl when she had to start taking responsibility for her younger siblings.

“We were on welfare and food stamps, and I remember going out to the mailbox and getting that check,” she recalled. Life in their small town in Sumner, Washington, was difficult, and even basic survival was a daily struggle.

At only two years old, she and her younger sister were sent to live with their grandmother, Lorraine Waldroop, in a brief period of stability. However, when her mother had three more children with her stepfather, the young girl found herself back in an unstable environment.

By the time her mother and stepfather’s relationship ended, the TV star had no choice but to assume full responsibility for her siblings. At just 11 years old, she was raising her younger brothers and sisters, feeding them with food stamps and trying to keep the household afloat.

One particularly painful memory involved her standing in line at the grocery store, food stamps in hand, when a popular girl from school, whose wealthy family owned the local dairy, saw her. “[…] It was mortifying for me,” she admitted.

Despite the overwhelming burden, the young girl developed a love for cooking, a skill she used to care for her siblings. She credited her grandmother for sparking this interest.

Still, the challenges of her home life left lasting scars. When asked later in life if she maintained contact with her mother, the chef revealed, “I haven’t really had anything to do with her since I was 15. This isn’t something I ever really want to talk about.”

A Rise to Fame and Personal Battles

The girl who once stood in grocery lines with food stamps grew up to become Sandra Lee — a beloved TV chef and lifestyle expert. Lee’s early struggles fueled her drive to succeed, and her passion for cooking evolved into a career that would change her life.

She rose to fame by making cooking accessible for everyday families, creating simple, budget-friendly recipes that resonated with millions. Lee’s success skyrocketed. She had multiple television series, and she became a staple in homes across America.

Her most recent venture, “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship,” a Netflix project, showcased bakers from state fairs across the U.S. competing for the coveted blue ribbon and a grand prize of $100,000.

However, while her professional life flourished, Lee faced immense personal challenges. In 2015, she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a non-invasive type of breast cancer.

This devastating news led to a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Speaking about her battle, Lee reflected, “I want people to know that at any time during this process, we’re all beautiful.”

Her diagnosis marked a turning point, as she was forced to step away from her hit cooking show, which had run for 15 successful seasons. Sadly, Lee’s health crisis wasn’t her only trial.

She was in a high-profile and long-term relationship with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a partnership that often made headlines. However, their romance came to an abrupt and public end in 2019, which landed her at the center of a media storm.

In the spring of that year, Cuomo reportedly said something that ultimately led to the end of their relationship. “I was in my kitchen, and he said something, and the minute he said it, I knew what he’d just said. And every window and door closed. And that was it. He knows what it is; I know what it is,” Lee recalled, refusing to elaborate further.

Seeking peace, she relocated from New York to Los Angeles, retreating from the spotlight to heal both physically and emotionally. Despite these setbacks, the famous chef returned to the public eye with renewed energy.

In addition to “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship,” she launched “Dinner Budget Showdown” on Roku, once again focusing on affordable, accessible cooking. On a personal note, Lee also found new happiness with actor and producer Ben Youcef.

The two recently celebrated their third anniversary, and Lee has credited Youcef with helping her learn to trust and love again. After the public turmoil of her breakup with Cuomo, Lee has embraced a more private, peaceful life, enjoying the balance she has worked so hard to achieve.

Despite her career demands, Lee continues to dedicate a significant portion of her life to philanthropy. She is a passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness and early detection, often sharing her personal story to inspire others.

Additionally, her childhood experiences have driven her commitment to fighting food insecurity, a cause she feels deeply connected to. “I do it when I can,” Lee explained about balancing her professional and personal life.

As for getting older? Lee, 58, shared, “I think what happens when you turn 50 is that you realize — if you’re lucky — you’re halfway through, if not more. Your body is changing and you have to pay attention to all those things.”

The glamorous blonde added that when it came to feeling pressure to look a certain way because she’s on TV, “There’s a reason why we all like wash our face and put lotion on and put makeup on. I don’t think any of us are going down without a fight. […] Whatever makes you feel hot, do it!”

Today, Lee’s story is one of triumph over adversity. From a childhood marked by hardship to becoming a beloved TV chef, she has turned her struggles into strength.

Through her work, both on and off the screen, the chef and TV personality continues to inspire millions, proving that no matter where you start, you can rise to greatness.

The “Yellowstone” Season 5 finale was anything but predictable. Bonds shattered, old feuds reignited, and the Dutton family’s iron grip on the Yellowstone ranch came to an end. By the time it was over, the fate of beloved characters had shifted, leaving viewers with more questions than answers.

The much-anticipated finale of “Yellowstone” Season 5 finally aired, bringing the Dutton family’s epic saga to an end. The two-hour episode brought closure to some long-running storylines while sparking new ones. Key characters faced life-changing moments, while the ranch underwent a dramatic transformation.

While some billed it as an epic conclusion, it didn’t land that way for everyone. Many fans took to social media to voice their frustrations and dissatisfaction. With the fate of key characters still uncertain and a spin-off already on the horizon, viewers wonder if the next chapter will live up to the legacy of “Yellowstone.”

A Symbolic Shift in Control

The finale opens with a striking visual that sets the tone for the rest of the episode. Under the cover of night, a group of Indigenous activists dismantles the controversial pipeline that had been a central point of conflict throughout the season.

The large metal pipes are dragged away by horses and rolled into a nearby lake, ensuring they will be useless for future construction. As the pipes sink beneath the water, it becomes clear that the long-standing battle over land control is nearing its end — but not in the Dutton family’s favor.

Meanwhile, at the ranch, Beth makes a quiet but monumental revelation. She shows Rip a listing for a new 27,000-acre ranch and casually reveals that she’s already bought it. Rip is surprised but not opposed, agreeing that they could “make a living” off the land.

This moment signals a shift in Beth and Rip’s priorities as they prepare to leave the Yellowstone ranch behind. The sense of finality is further emphasized as Travis, one of the Yellowstone ranch’s trusted cowboys, says his goodbyes before heading back to Texas.

John Dutton’s Death and the Family Funeral

The emotional core of the finale is centered around John Dutton’s funeral, which confirms the patriarch’s death after seasons of teasing his possible demise. The call comes early in the episode, with Beth answering the phone to hear that John’s body is ready for burial.

From that moment on, the weight of his absence looms over every scene. True to the Dutton family’s rugged roots, the cowboys dig John’s grave by hand, reflecting the old-world values that John, played by Kevin Costner, lived by. His burial is a small, private affair attended only by family and the ranch hands.

As John’s casket is lowered into the ground, Beth stands at the gravesite, visibly shaken. Fighting back tears, she touches the casket and reflects on the promise she made to him.

“You made me promise not to sell an inch,” she says, her voice breaking with emotion. “There may not be cows on it, but there won’t be condos either. We won.” Her words serve as both a tribute to her father and a signal to the audience that while the ranch may be gone, the family’s resolve remains.

Kayce also has a moment of reflection with his son Tate. As they watch John’s casket being lowered, Kayce tells Tate that he forgave him — a moment of personal closure for a character whose relationship with his father had always been strained.

Beth vs. Jamie — The Family Feud Reaches Its Peak

Following John’s funeral, Beth heads straight to Jamie’s house, filled with rage. No storyline in “Yellowstone” has been more intense or unpredictable than the feud between Beth and Jamie Dutton, and in the Season 5 finale, it reaches its violent conclusion.

Her suspicions of Jamie’s involvement in their father’s death had been brewing for weeks, and now, she’s ready to confront him. Their confrontation escalates rapidly. Beth attacks Jamie with bear spray and a tire iron, catching him off guard.

But Jamie fights back, choking Beth and pushing her to the ground. The fight is raw, brutal, and unlike anything seen in their previous encounters. Beth’s refusal to give up is symbolic of her character’s unyielding nature.

Just as Jamie appears to gain the upper hand, Rip arrives. He pulls Jamie off Beth and pins him to the ground. At this moment, Beth seizes the opportunity, driving a knife into Jamie’s chest.

The weight of her revenge is captured in one final, cold-blooded line: “I’m gonna be the last thing you ever see.” Jamie collapses, and it’s clear that he won’t be getting back up. With Jamie gone, Beth and Rip turn their attention to the body.

Following Dutton family tradition, Rip and Lloyd drive Jamie’s body to the “train station,” the spot where the Dutton family has disposed of their enemies for years. The site, located in a legal gray area on the border of Montana and Wyoming, has been a staple of the show’s darker subplots.

The scene closes as Jamie’s body is discarded, signaling not just the end of a character but the conclusion of a storyline that spanned multiple seasons.

Kayce’s Deal to Sell the Yellowstone Ranch

The most significant decision of the episode — and arguably the entire series — comes when Kayce makes an offer to Thomas Rainwater, leader of the Broken Rock Indian Tribe.

For years, John had fought to keep the ranch out of Rainwater’s control, but in this moment, his son makes a move that his father never would have.

Kayce proposes selling the Yellowstone ranch to the Broken Rock Indian Tribe at a price of $1.25 per acre, a symbolic callback to the value of the land in 1883 when it was first settled.

As part of the deal, Kayce secures a portion of the land known as East Camp for his family, giving him, Monica, and their son Tate a chance to stay connected to the land.

The official sale of the ranch is marked by one of the most symbolic moments in the episode — the removal of the “Y” brand from the barn. This single act represents the end of the Dutton family’s claim to the land.

As the brand is taken down, viewers are shown scenes of the barn being emptied, cowboys leaving, and the land itself being prepared for its new owners. The new era of Broken Rock control begins, marking a dramatic shift in power that had been building for five seasons.

New Beginnings for Beth, Rip, and Kayce

As the final pieces of the Yellowstone ranch are packed away, key characters prepare to start fresh. Beth and Rip are shown settling into the new 27,000-acre ranch that Beth purchased earlier in the episode. Unlike Yellowstone, this new ranch isn’t marked by legacy or family history.

It’s a chance for Beth and Rip to build something entirely their own. Rip takes one last walk through the empty Yellowstone barn, reflecting on everything they’re leaving behind. Later, he’s seen working on the new ranch, already settling into his role on the new land.

Beth, too, seems more at peace, suggesting that their story will continue — but this time, on their terms. Meanwhile, Kayce, Monica, and Tate move to East Camp, the small plot of land that Kayce retained as part of his deal with Thomas Rainwater.

Unlike Beth and Rip, their goal isn’t to start fresh but to find peace. The episode closes with Kayce and Monica working on their land as they prepare for a simpler life. The final montage of scenes is filled with symbolic visuals.

Indigenous activists reclaim the land, tearing down structures and reclaiming sacred ground. John’s headstone is erected, signaling that his journey is finally over.

And perhaps most striking of all, the “Y” emblem, which had been a symbol of the Dutton family’s power, is removed from the barn, ending the family’s connection to the land they spent generations fighting to protect.

The Season 5 finale of “Yellowstone” sparked a flood of reactions from fans, many of whom were disappointed with how the story ended.

Fan Reactions to the Finale

The creative choices made by series creator Sheridan were also a frequent target, with fans accusing him of inserting himself into too many scenes and prioritizing spectacle over substance.

One viewer voiced their frustration with the writing, saying, “The ‘#Yellowstone’ season finale was absolute rubbish. How long did you spend writing this one #TaylorSheridan? Fifteen minutes? You can blame Kevin Costner all you want, but YOU ruined the show.”

Another viewer echoed the sentiment, calling it “one of the worst series finales I’ve ever seen. Just incredibly lazy hack writing.” Others were upset with the fate of John and what his departure symbolized for the show as a whole.

One viewer remarked, “Yellowstone finale was a big let down for me. Too predictable and Taylor Sheridan put himself in too many scenes when he was not an integral part of the family. Kevin Costner was ‘Yellowstone’ and the day he left the show, it died with him.”

The storyline involving Beth and Jamie also drew criticism. Fans took issue with how their long-standing sibling rivalry was resolved, with some feeling the confrontation was rushed and anticlimactic.

A frustrated viewer shared, “The #YellowstoneTV finale was a letdown that never should’ve happened. Sheridan ruined the best series on TV. Worse, he inserted himself and his wooden, blowhard character in the finale.”

Some fans, however, appreciated the emotional depth of the finale. A viewer acknowledged the show’s efforts to tie up loose ends, “I surprisingly enjoyed that finale. Shows should end leaving the audience wanting more. I actually thought it was time to end it. How long are we going to watch them fight over land? It ended before jumping the shark.”

Another summed it up with a scathing review, stating, “#Yellowstone finale tonight~season thus far has been a Taylor Sheridan ego trip not worth watching. Lots of ‘cowboy b-roll,’ little to no new plot twists, killin’ off lots of actors too. My review: 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼.”

Questions surrounding key character fates and the next steps for Beth, Rip, and Kayce remain at the heart of fan discussions. As the dust settles, a spin-off series centered on Beth and Rip promises to continue the story — but will it deliver where the finale did not?

J. K. Rowling

“Your vendetta against me is causing collateral damage to innocent people,” the “Harry Potter” author wrote on social media.

JK Rowling Threatens Legal War Against Former 'Harry Potter' Fans - Inside the MagicJ.K. Rowling is threatening legal action against a fan on social media.

The Harry Potter author quarreled with Wizarding News, a 22-year-old fan site, on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

Wizarding News had posted claims that Rowling has an estranged daughter and grandchild, which the author swiftly disputed. “This is untrue in all respects, as I suspect they already know,” she wrote in a post. “Lying about my kids is a new low, even by this website’s subterranean standards.”

“Your vendetta against me is causing collateral damage to innocent people,” she continued. “If legal action is the only way to protect them, I will take it.”

Reps for Rowling did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

The fan account had posted, “Reminder that JK Rowling’s eldest daughter (the one with whom she was famously pregnant while writing Harry Potter) changed her last name to literally get away from Rowling, and moved to Portugal.” In another post, they said, “Did you know? JK Rowling is a grandmother. Have any of you ever seen her talk about grandchildren?”

In a follow-up post, Rowling explained why Wizarding News’ claims were false. “I’ve done everything I can to keep my children out of the public eye,” she wrote. “My eldest daughter doesn’t owe you or anyone else details of her private life. However, for the avoidance of doubt: 1. Contrary to your claims, we are very close and last talked an hour ago. We discussed your posts, which have angered and distressed her. 2. Contrary to your claims, she doesn’t live in Portugal. 3. Contrary to your claims, she has no children. 4. The young mother whose photograph and personal details you published is not my daughter and has no relation to me whatsoever.”

“You’ve published easily disproven and damaging falsehoods,” she continued. “Should we go to legal proceedings, you will need to show why, in spite of being told the truth, you neither retracted nor apologised. In the absence of any such retraction and apology, the next communication you receive will be from my lawyer.”

“I want a retraction and apology, or we go to lawyers,” Rowling wrote in another post.

Wizarding News later stated, “Deleted the post with photos and link to that Instagram hours ago, Jo. Glad you seem to be self-aware enough that you’re now publicly acknowledging the hate your bigoted rhetoric engenders.”

The account apologized to Rowling’s daughter for the mistake. “We are unreservedly sorry… to JK Rowling’s eldest daughter… for understandably mixing her up with a VERY coincidentally named person found in multiple published online articles & biographies identifying her as such, and extrapolating & sharing inaccurate details therefrom,” the account wrote. “Guess you could say we were following JKR’s example: ‘researching’ something & then immediately regurgitating it, [in our case unintentionally] spreading what some consider to be harmful falsehoods about others… which is what Rowling does to LGBTQ+ people daily,” they continued.

Rowling is notoriously anti-transgender rights and also recently made news for a spat with U.K. broadcaster India Willoughby, who reported the author to the authorities for alleged transphobia.

“Home Improvement” was a cultural phenomenon in the 1990s. The show brought laughter into millions of American homes. At the center of this success was a young actor whose charm and boyish good looks made him an instant fan favorite. But despite his early success, he made the shocking decision to walk away from Hollywood.

The years have been kind yet mysterious to this former child star. Whispers of his struggles with the pressures of fame, the incessant speculation about his personal life, and his eventual decision to prioritize education over acting have left many questions unanswered. Who was this star, and why did he choose such a drastically different path?

Early 1990s to 2000s

Before he became a household name, this young actor was just a regular kid from Sacramento with a flair for the camera. At seven, he started working as a model. He appeared in print advertisements and soon transitioned to TV commercials for well-known brands like Kellogg’s and Mattel.

His natural charm and boyish good looks made him a favorite among casting directors. Therefore, it wasn’t long before he landed his first TV role in the special “The Bradys” in 1990. It was clear from the beginning that he had the charisma needed to captivate an audience, even at such a young age.

His big break came in 1991 when he landed the role that would change his life forever. He was cast on the hit sitcom “Home Improvement.”

The casting directors were searching for a young actor who could hold his own alongside Tim Allen, the show’s lead, and they found just that in this boy. His striking resemblance to Allen sealed the deal, and soon he was playing the middle child in the Taylor family. His portrayal quickly made him one of the most recognizable faces on television.

By the early 1990s, this young star was everywhere. In addition to his role in “Home Improvement,” he provided the voice for Young Simba in Disney’s blockbuster “The Lion King.” Both roles further solidified his status as a teen idol.

His performances, combined with his clean-cut image, endeared him to a massive fan base. Soon, he was receiving an overwhelming 50,000 letters from fans each month. Magazines like “Bop” and “16” couldn’t get enough of him, featuring him on their covers and chronicling his every move.

Yet, as the spotlight grew brighter, so did the pressures that came with it. Despite his fame, the young actor began to feel the strain of constantly being in the public eye.

“You can’t be trapped in this bubble called the acting industry,” he once said, yearning to escape the neurotic and often bizarre world of Hollywood. He longed for normalcy, a life where he could just be himself—a regular kid who played basketball with his friends and wasn’t always in the limelight.

As the years passed, the young actor’s relationship with fame became increasingly complicated. While “Home Improvement” was a massive success, the demands of the show began to take a toll on him physically and mentally.

His schedule was grueling, with nine-and-a-half-hour days on set, which included time for schoolwork, leaving him little room for a normal childhood. The stress even led to frequent migraines, a clear sign that the pressures were becoming too much to bear.

By the mid to late 1990s, despite his growing discomfort with the spotlight, he remained committed to his fans, understanding that they were a significant part of his success. However, maintaining this connection wasn’t always easy.

He was often the subject of gossip and speculation, particularly regarding his personal life. During a 1998 interview with Jay Leno, Leno directly asked him about persistent rumors questioning his sexuality.

In 1999, the tension reached a peak when he made the controversial decision to leave “Home Improvement” before the show’s final season. His departure shocked fans and his co-stars alike, particularly Tim Allen, who was reportedly upset by the sudden exit.

Although the actor cited a desire to focus on his education as the reason for leaving, rumors swirled that there was more to the story. Allen himself expressed confusion, suggesting that perhaps the young star had been receiving conflicting advice.

Whatever the reasons, the fallout was clear: the once close-knit cast was left with unresolved feelings, particularly as the young actor chose not to return for the series finale, a move that many, including his TV mom, Patricia Richardson, found disappointing.

In 2000, he took on roles that challenged the rumors about his sexuality. He played a gay hustler in the indie film “Speedway Junky” and a gay-bashing victim in the TV movie “Common Ground.”

But it wasn’t just the roles that marked his departure from the Hollywood scene. He also turned his focus toward education, attending prestigious institutions like Harvard, Columbia, and St. Andrew’s University in Scotland.

In interviews, he spoke fondly of his time spent in libraries, surrounded by books and fellow students. He described his time as a student as a novel experience, relishing the opportunity to learn and explore the world outside of acting.

By 2011, he had largely disappeared from the public eye, reemerging only occasionally for events like the “Home Improvement” cast reunion.

His co-stars hadn’t seen him in years, making his participation in the reunion all the more special. Though he hadn’t completely abandoned his TV career, making guest appearances on shows like “Veronica Mars” and “Smallville,” his priorities had clearly shifted away from the limelight.

As the years passed, this former child star remained a figure of curiosity, especially for those who grew up watching him on “Home Improvement.”

In 2013, after nearly a decade away from the spotlight, he reappeared in Los Angeles. However, he was now focused on directing, writing scripts, and enjoying the simpler pleasures of life like watching movies, hiking, and staying up on shows and theater.

Despite his low profile, his legacy as Hollywood’s Jonathan Taylor Thomas, or JTT, as fans fondly called him remained intact. His co-stars from “Home Improvement” continued to speak highly of him.

In 2018, it was revealed that he was still in touch with his on-screen brothers, Zachery Ty Bryan and Taran Noah Smith. Bryan even discussed the possibility of collaborating on a project.

This was a reassuring sign for fans that, while he may have stepped away from the spotlight, his connections and friendships in the industry remained strong.

Then, in 2021, after nearly a decade away from the public eye, Thomas was seen in Los Angeles, walking his dogs in a rare public outing. By now, he had fully embraced a life away from fame, looking every bit the regular guy, far removed from the teen idol image that once defined him.

Dressed casually, with a cap and glasses, he looked like any other person going about their day—a stark contrast to the glamorous image he once projected on screen.

On seeing pictures of him, fans could hardly recognize him. “My goodness – he looks so different! He clearly lives a private life now,” one fan commented. Another expressed amazement, “I never would have guessed who he was.”

In 2023, new photos surfaced, showing him bundled up and sporting a more mature look, almost unrecognizable to those who once idolized him. However, the sighting sparked a wave of nostalgia and respect among his fans.

“Leave him be. He’s clearly not seeking fame anymore,” one fan commented. The fan also reminisced“My goodness, the crush I had on him when I was younger. He’s the only reason I wanted to watch ‘Home Improvement.'”

For many, Thomas represented a part of their childhood, and his decision to live a private life only deepened their admiration. Some fans were quick to defend his ordinary appearance, noting“He looks like a regular guy. Not every celeb or ex-celeb goes for the plastic surgery route or gets dressed up for a walk around the block.”

Others applauded his choice to prioritize education over fame, with one noting, “Nothing wrong with him. He chose education over Hollywood. Respect.”

The overall sentiment was one of support and understanding. “I used to fancy him so much. Respect he left the show business and hope he’s happy,” a fan concluded, reflecting the deep connection his audience still feels with him.

Despite the years away from the limelight, Jonathan Taylor Thomas remains a beloved figure, not just for his roles but for the life he chose to lead after the cameras stopped rolling.

The former child star has mixed memories from his time in the 1990 Christmas movie

You’d think former child star Macaulay Culkin would thrive when the Christmas season rolls back around, having starred in one of most-loved festive flicks of all time.

Apparently, however, nothing could be further from the truth.

For those that are bad with names, or simply need a little reminder, Macaulay was just 10-years-old when he was cast as the lead actor in director Chris Columbus’ 1990 Christmas hit Home Alone.

The childhood role served as Macauley’s breakthrough, and the years that followed not only saw him appear in the popular sequel Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, but several other cult classics, like My Girl and Ritchie Rich.

Despite the actor enduring a drug-induced rough patch in his twenties, he’s often considered to be one of the most successful child actors in history, and has since gotten back on his feet to star in the likes of comedy hit Changeland and TV thriller American Horror Story.

Only in recent years, however, have fans discovered that Home Alone provides some rocky memories for Macaulay, with his brother Kieran Culkin – who played cousin Fuller in the film franchise – revealing that he struggled after being sky-rocketed into the spotlight as a child.

“Even at that time, as a kid, I remember thinking, ‘That sucks for him,'” Kieran joked last year.

“Poor f**king guy. He was little and having to try to accept that level of fame as reality.”

And by the sounds of things, that level of stardom has left life-long scars on Macaulay, revealing that he even struggles to leave the house when the holiday season comes around.

Discussing the film series in general, the now 44-year-old told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, ‘I don’t really watch them all that often,’ describing them as ‘background radiation at Christmas time’.

He added: “I’ve had people want to sit down and watch it with me, which is, like, both flattering and creepy.

“I can’t watch it the same way other people do.”

Macauley’s rigid stance doesn’t even change around Christmas time – a turbulent time of year for the former child star.

“It’s my season….It’s Macaulay season,” he laughed, revealing that he’s often asked by strangers to make the classic ‘Kevin McCallister face’.

“I try to go out less and less around that time of year.

“I’ve been there, done that already guys. I’m 37 now, OK mom?”

He also described being recognised often as both a ‘curse and a blessing’, adding: “I can get into any restaurant I want without a reservation. But while I’m there, everyone’s staring at me and all going ‘awwww’ the whole time.”

‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Shows Off New Carriage House After Split from Kody – Photos

“Sister Wives” star Meri Brown unveiled her new carriage house in a recent episode of the reality show. The move marks a fresh start following her divorce from polygamist Kody Brown, paving the way for her independence.

Meri, Kody’s first wife of four, married him in 1990. The couple spent 32 years married and 35 years together, during which they welcomed a son, Leon Brown. Though they had been legally divorced since 2014, Meri revealed in an October 2024 episode that she officially ended their marriage through their church in early 2024.

The TV star has embraced peace following the end of her marriage. “I’m in a really good place. I feel very peaceful about our situation,” she shared on the show, though she noted Kody’s struggle with the split, calling him “mean.” “He clearly has a lot of internal that he still needs to work on,” she added.

During a candid one-on-one, Meri reminded Kody that she is no longer his wife and has no interest in spending time with him and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, even during the holidays.

When Kody admitted uncertainty about their future relationship, saying, “I don’t know how we define ourselves with other each other from here,” Meri firmly responded, “We’re exes, let’s be real. You don’t need to worry about me.” She concluded the conversation by expressing, “I just wish you knew how amazing of a person I really am.”

During another meeting with her ex and Robyn, Meri revealed her plans to move out within weeks, prompting Kody to ask, “Why so early?” In a confessional, she expressed confusion over his reaction, noting that after years of pushing her away, he now seemed reluctant to let her go.

Kody, on the other hand, admitted privately that he felt her departure was for the best but refrains from sharing his true feelings with her, saying it’s not “safe” to do so.

Despite the emotional tension, Meri asked the father of her child for help with her move, including driving the moving truck, to which he agreed.

Jokingly, she called it her “severance package,” adding in a confessional, “I failed to ask for alimony when we got the legal divorce, so I’m kind of out that, so, you know, I’ve put 30 years into this, like, help me move and get out of here, then we’ll just be good to go. We’ll call it even.”

Meri’s new chapter has been supported by her close circle. On the November 3, 2024 episode of “Sister Wives,” she celebrated her 53rd birthday with a special gift—a renovated carriage house designed by her friends Blair Struble and Jenn Sullivan.

Once a simple “storage” area, the two-story house was transformed into a dual-purpose retreat, featuring space for Meri’s online clothing business and a personal gym.

Thrilled about the renovation, she expressed, “It was a cement floor and just basic walls. […] I have some high expectations for this. I have seen some of the work that Blair does. I am so excited to see this.”

Meri was visibly moved as she stepped into her revamped carriage house, calling it “completely transformed” and “really pretty.” The updated lower level features a wardrobe area, a work desk, and a marble island.

Praising the details, she said, “This is the most amazing transformation. […] But one of the best parts about it is the countertop. I’m dying. It’s amazing, amazing.”

Meri’s excitement didn’t stop there, as the carriage house also features an upstairs workout space tailored for strength training. Embracing her fresh start, she noted, the space is “all mine” and ideal for “being me.”

The mother of one reflected on her journey, noting that she has grown into a sense of independence and confidence over time. She acknowledged that reclaiming this home within the family has played a significant role in her personal growth.

Meri further expressed her excitement about this new chapter, saying she now feels “in charge” in her home, adding, “And I am so happy about the life that I’m creating and the table that I have.”

Building on her reflections, the TV personality shared a heartfelt tribute to her late mother. After her passing, the family turned her mother’s shirts into memory bears.

Meri also honored her mother in a March 2024 Instagram post featuring a photo of the two. In a heartfelt message, she shared the love, support, and warmth her mother always provided. The public figure described her mom as someone who “loved without question and beyond measure,” making everyone feel special in her presence.

Meri also shared how much her mother cherished her grandchildren, finding comfort in the belief that she was welcoming Garrison Brown—Kody’s son with his second wife, Janelle Brown—in heaven. She wrote, “Keep an eye on our boy up there, Mom! And give him a hug for me!”

Meri Brown’s journey reflects her resilience and strength. By embracing new beginnings while cherishing the memories of her past, she’s creating a life full of purpose and independence, showing it’s never too late to start fresh.

Mama June and Her Family

Mama June first captured viewers’ attention through her family’s reality TV show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” Premiering in 2012, the show followed the mother of four and her daughter Alana Thompson, better known to fans as Honey Boo Boo, after Alana’s breakout on “Toddlers & Tiaras.”

With their quirky personalities and lively interactions, the family quickly became pop culture fixtures. Through years of highs and lows, Mama June and her four daughters remained in the public eye, often sharing the struggles and triumphs they experienced along the way.

Her eldest daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, faced a heart-wrenching battle with cancer in 2023. In January, Anna, then 28, was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma after complaining of persistent stomach pain.

According to reports, doctors discovered the cancer had spread to her liver, kidney, and lungs. Despite the family rallying around Anna, she passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Mama June’s home.

The mother of four shared the devastating news on Instagram, writing in part, “With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us[…]. She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months […].”

Anna left behind two daughters, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, born in 2012, and Kylee Madison, born in 2015. In May 2022, she shared on Instagram, “Y’all I got a first grader 🥺😭😩I am so proud of my baby for going to first grade she is so smart excuse me while I go cry because I am getting old 😢.”

Mama June’s second eldest, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, brought her own resilience to the family. Born on October 12, 1996, to Mama June and Michael Anthony Ford, Jessica has shared her journey to a healthier lifestyle, achieving a significant weight loss in 2020 which boosted her confidence.

Mama June’s third daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, was born on January 7, 2000. She, too, became a focal point in the mother of four’s life, especially after starting her own family.

In January 2023, Lauryn celebrated her twins’ eight-month milestone, and in May of the same year, her oldest child graduated from pre-kindergarten.

Finally, Alana, the youngest and perhaps most famous of Mama June’s children, rose to stardom with her lively personality and memorable catchphrases.

Born on August 28, 2005, to Mama June and her ex-partner Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, Alana brought a unique charm that made her the face of the family’s fame. Continue reading for a glimpse of Mama June’s weight loss journey over the years after welcoming her beautiful daughters.

Despite the challenges and joys of raising her four daughters, Mama June faced personal battles during her parenting journey — her weight and health. Determined to be there for her family, she embarked on a transformative weight loss journey that reflected her resilience and desire for change.

Mama June’s Weight Loss Journey

Mama June’s weight loss journey has spanned years of effort, setbacks, and new beginnings. Her journey started in 2015 when she underwent gastric sleeve surgery, a procedure that offered her an initial transformation but came with its own challenges.

Despite the dramatic change, the reality TV star struggled to maintain the results, and over the past year, she regained between 120 to 130 pounds. She also once lost 160 pounds in just six weeks, a period she later admitted during an interview was unhealthy.

Determined to find a lasting approach, she recently turned to weight loss medication and opened up about the experience in June. “It isn’t as fast as a gastric sleeve or a gastric bypass, but it is doing it, like, more safer,” Mama June said.

She shared that the medication helped her lose 30 pounds in just two months, adding that she was transparent about it because she understood the difficulties many face with weight loss.

Mama June wasn’t alone in her journey — her husband publicly supported her, expressing pride in her progress in a TikTok video. He emphasized, “It’s not really about losing weight. It’s about being able to be healthy.”

Mama June was also committed to making other lifestyle changes. She worked out three to four times each week and adjusted her eating habits to prioritize better nutrition. She took to social media earlier this year to update her followers on her progress, sharing how she felt great, and encouraging others to add protein to their diets.

The mother of four even revealed that she had a new outlook on food and nutrition, a perspective she hoped would keep her focused. Though proud of her progress, she shared her goal of losing another 70 pounds, aiming to reach a weight of 170 to 180 pounds.

However, Mama June’s journey hasn’t just been about diet and exercise. Over the years, she underwent several surgeries, including breast augmentation and skin removal surgeries. Her skin removal procedures targeted areas she described as her “turkey neck” and “bat wings,” where doctors removed nine pounds of loose skin.

She remarked, “It’s not like I’m Miss Plastic. I don’t consider a tummy tuck or face skin removal ‘plastic surgery.’ I believe it’s something that makes you feel better than you did with the skin hanging. I can promise you I’m never going back to my old size. I’m happy where I’m at.”

Her daughters also opened up about watching their mother’s weight loss journey over the years, and Lauryn admitted, “Mama’s thing is like, when she’s really strict on herself, she’s really strict on herself.”

However, by September, Mama June proudly revealed on social media that she had already lost 60 pounds. Then, in early November, she updated fans again, disclosing that she had lost 78 pounds since starting her recent journey at 285 pounds.

Mama June’s weight loss journey has been a testament to her resilience and commitment to change. Despite past setbacks, she has embraced a healthier lifestyle with determination, inspiring her family and fans alike.
