Elon Musk isn’t doing himself any favors at the minute…

As you’re probably aware, Musk caused quite a stir at Donald Trump’s inauguration after he made a questionable gesture.

If you’ve somehow missed it, the incident occurred at Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena.

During a speech about humanity’s future on Mars, Musk struck an impassioned tone, at one point pounding his chest and extending his right arm upward at an angle.

While turning toward an American flag, he repeated the gesture, prompting cheers from the audience.

“My heart goes out to you,” Musk said. “It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured. Thanks to you, we’re gonna have safe cities, finally safe cities. Secure borders, sensible spending. Basic stuff. And we’re gonna take ‘Doge’ to Mars.”

The gesture, however, quickly drew criticism online, with some comparing it to the notorious Nazi salute.

Musk, of course, has denied any wrongdoing.

He took to X to refute the allegations, dismissing them as part of what he referred to as a “dirty tricks campaign” against him.

“Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is so tired,” Musk wrote.

Well, he appears to have a new line of defense now and for some reason has dragged Taylor Swift into the argument.

As the fallout continued, Musk retweeted two doctored images of Taylor Swift that appeared to mimic the controversial gesture.

The images featured Swift with her right arm raised, along with captions such as “My god. Not her too” and “Does this mean Swifties = Hitler youth?”

The images, however, were debunked by social media users who pointed out that they were manipulated screenshots from a 2014 performance in New York, during which Swift was blowing a kiss to her fans.

The images had been taken out of context to match the Nazi salute’s arm position, per Newsweek.

Fans of the singer quickly came to her defense, with many calling for Swift to take legal action against Musk.

“This is the one time I’m gonna actually say this, but Swifties… This is your f****** moment to shine. Rise up on this fool!” one Reddit user wrote, while others criticized Musk for what they perceived as an “obsession” with Swift.

If we’ve learned anything in the past, it’s that Swifties are an incredibly powerful, dedicated bunch.

Musk has not issued a formal explanation for his actions, instead responding with retweets and comments, including a post stating: “The radical leftists are really upset that they had to take time out of their busy day praising Hamas to call me a Nazi.”

Angelina Jolie revealed she developed a neurological disorder during ‘stressful’ marriage to Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie once opened up about a neurological disorder she developed while married to Brad Pitt.

Jolie and Pitt were once Hollywood’s elite couple, but things soon turned sour and what followed was a very public divorce.

Jolie, 49, filed for divorce in September 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

According to court filings, she sought physical custody of the couple’s six children while requesting visitation rights for Pitt, 61.

Jolie’s attorney addressed the filing in a statement to PEOPLE, saying: “Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”

Pitt also released a statement, expressing his distress over the situation: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

The pair’s custody battle has been tense.

In 2021, a court ruling by Judge John Ouderkirk stripped Pitt of visitation rights due to what was described as a violation of “his ethical obligations.”

Their six children – Shiloh, Pax, Zahara, Maddox, Vivienne, and Knox – have since reportedly distanced themselves from their father.

In a previous interview with WSJ. Magazine, Jolie spoke candidly about the aftermath of her high-profile divorce.

“My body reacts very strongly to stress,” Jolie admitted. “My blood sugar goes up and down.”

She also disclosed a surprising health challenge: “I suddenly had Bell’s palsy six months before my divorce.”

According to Mayo Clinic, Bell’s palsy is a neurological disorder that causes weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.

“We had to heal,” Jolie said, referring to herself and her children. She avoided delving into specific reasons for the split, saying: “There are things we needed to heal from.”

At the end of 2024, after years of legal wrangling, Jolie’s legal team announced that she was “ready to move on.”

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” said Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, in a statement to the New York Post.

“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” Simon added.

While the divorce is now finalized, legal proceedings tied to Château Miraval continue. The vineyard, which the couple purchased in 2008, remains a contentious issue in their post-divorce dealings.

Brit booked cheapest available flights over four days to see where he'd end up

A YouTuber decided to travel to four countries in four days using the cheapest available flights, with no idea where he’d end up. Sounds like fun.

British content creator Ben Morris went on a trip of a lifetime to Europe in 2022, under the premise that he travels on the least expensive flights possible back-to-back-to-back.

To make it fair, he got his flatmate to go on Skyscanner and book all the flights for him.

“I only know the first destination and the rest of them, I’m gonna find out at the same time that you guys do,” he said in his video which has three million views.

Wrocław, Poland – £10 flight from London

During his first trip, Morris went to Poland for just £10 with the aim of trying the national dish (dumplings called pierogi) and the national drink (vodka).

However, at that moment in time, it was the 2022 World Cup and Poland were playing in the first match.

If Poland won, he was going to book himself into a nice hotel, and then if they lose, he would stay in a cheap hotel.

Well, Poland drew 0-0 against Mexico and he decided to stay at a £3 hostel with ‘a good rating’.

Throughout his trip, where it was 2°C, Morris also visited the museum which he highly recommended.

Rome, Italy – £18 flight from Wrocław

Thankfully, it seemed Rome was a lot warmer as Morris said: “Highly recommend going to the Coliseum.

“You kind of have to, if you go to Rome, we only have about two hours of daylight left.

“I’m gonna hop on a Lime bike and head to Vatican City.”

The YouTuber also went and saw the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain during his stay.

“The national drink of Italy is Campari, and I’ve got a Campari spritz. I don’t know if that’s cheating,” he added.

“And for food, I’ve ordered of Ragu bolognese, which is the traditional dish of Italy. I’m pretty sure it’s just bolognese.

“Any Italians out there are gonna kill me for saying that.”

Paphos, Cyprus – £16 flight from Rome

After arriving on his 6am flight from Rome, he set out to sample the national dish of Cyprus, which is Fasolada, a bean and vegetable soup.

A lot of walking was involved in this trip, and he eventually gave up and got souvlaki instead.

As for the national drink, Zivania, it’s a strong colourless spirit made from grape pomace and dry wines, and is sometimes referred to as ‘firewater’ because of its high alcohol content.

It did not disappoint.

Tel Aviv, Israel – £58 from Paphos

“So the flight isn’t actually that cheap. It’s £58, and it’s only an hour away. The whole point of the challenge is to just get the cheapest flight to wherever it’s going,” he said.

After visiting a couple of restaurants and befriending a couple, Morris opted to call it a day.

“What an insane week this has been,” he concluded.

Wolf Man and Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell reveals why he thinks ‘The Dark Universe’ failed

The director’s latest film is in cinemas now

Universal announced their plans in 2017 to create a combined universe, à la the MCU, but with their movie monsters.

This was supposed to be kicked off by 2017’s The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise, which also featured Russell Crowe as Dr Henry Jekyll.

This was eventually supposed to lead to an Invisible Man film starring Johnny Depp, as well as a Bride of Frankenstein movie with Javier Bardem as the monster.

In addition, Universal announced a further slate of films, including a Wolf Man film.

Due to backlash to the announcement and the critical and financial failure of The Mummy, the studio pivoted and cancelled their plans.

Instead, several of the projects were turned into solo films, with Whannell directing The Invisible Man in 2020 (with Depp being replaced by Oliver Jackson-Cohen), and Wolf Man, which released January 17.

In addition to this, an upcoming Frankenstein film directed by Guillermo Del Toro is set to release this year starring Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Oscar Isaac.

In an exclusive interview with LADbible, Whannell revealed that both projects he was involved in took place after ‘The Dark Universe’ was canned.

When asked why he thinks the project failed, he said: “I mean, it’s interesting, because these characters individually, you know, they were never written as a team.

“Obviously, originally you know Dracula and Frankenstein, they’re these great works of literature. It’s been over the years that they’ve started to be lumped together.

“I’m sure when Frankenstein was first released as a book, there was no intention of putting it next to Dracula.

“But all of a sudden in pop culture, it seeped in so far that, you know, my kids watch these animated movies like Hotel Transylvania, where all the monsters are all together in the cast. In a weird way, culture is the thing that’s grouped them together.

Whannell pointed out that the stories don't link these characters, but culture does (Columbia Pictures)

“What I think about these current movies is, I actually think that each of these characters is so unique and individual that it’s, I almost think you’re doing a disservice to them to put them all together.”

He went on to add: “I don’t want to see Frankenstein team up with Dracula. I want to see a movie about Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s monster, and now that I know Guillermo del Toro is doing that movie, I’m so excited because he’s obsessed.”

Whannell revealed that, in a visit to del Toro’s house to paint monster masks, he was shown a room in the directors house that was entirely Frankenstein related, saying he ‘has this amazing office filled with artifacts’.

“His life is so devoted to the art of these that I definitely don’t want to see him kill two or three birds with one stone. I want to see his Frankenstein movie exactly. You want focus.

“Focus is best, because you, once you start putting too many people together, I feel like your focus gets split up.”

Ellen DeGeneres stuns fans as she shows off her natural hair after leaving showbusiness

Ellen DeGeneres has shown off her new look as she made a rare appearance in the US after moving abroad.

Once a fixture of daytime television, the 66-year-old comedian has left the spotlight behind, opting for the serene British countryside over the glitz of Hollywood.

Ellen now lives in the Cotswolds in the UK, which is an idyllic part of the country where many celebs reside.

The relocation follows a tumultuous period for DeGeneres, whose reputation suffered during the final years of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Allegations of a toxic workplace environment marred her legacy, culminating in the show’s end in May 2022.

The couple’s decision to leave the United States reportedly came even before the 2024 presidential election, which resulted in Donald Trump’s victory.

According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, DeGeneres felt compelled to leave due to lingering “ill will” stemming from the controversies that engulfed her career.

“With all the ill will towards her, she was looking to move away even before the election,” another source explained. “And as things panned out with Trump winning, she is glad she is making the move and going to be away from the US.”

Well, it appears Ellen has made an appearance in the US, and has shown off her natural hair.

The 66-year-old was spotted in her old haunt of Montecito, showing off her striking gray hair.

Keeping to her casual fashion sense, Ellen was spotted in a dark pullover, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

Despite the sighting, fans shouldn’t expect Ellen to make a Hollywood comeback. “This is the last time you’re going to see me,” she said during a comedy show in Santa Rosa, California, last July, according to SFGate.

In her Netflix special, For Your Approval, which premiered in September, Ellen directly addressed the backlash she faced after allegations of a toxic work environment emerged during her time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“I got kicked out of show business,” she quipped. “You can’t be mean and be in show business. No, they’ll kick you out. No mean people in show business.”

Hair transformations are nothing new for the Finding Dory star, who has previously opened up about the challenges of maintaining her short hairstyle.

“When you have short hair, you have to color it often, ’cause my hair grows really fast,” Ellen said during a 2019 episode of her talk show, per E! Online.

“I’m constantly coloring it, so it always looks different when you watch the show. Some days it’s a different tone.”

However, coloring her hair hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

“My hair was falling out,” Ellen shared of a particularly bad experience.

“Like literally, I would touch my head and hair was falling out. I think my hair was so embarrassed, it didn’t want anything to do with my head and said, ‘I’m getting out of here.'”

Blake Lively responds after Justin Baldoni sues her and husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million

Blake Lively has issued a response after Justin Baldoni sued her and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million.

Baldoni, along with his publicists, alleges that Lively fabricated sexual harassment claims to damage his career and seize control of the movie It Ends With Us.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, accuses Lively and Reynolds of leveraging their combined star power to discredit Baldoni, who co-starred in and directed the film, per the Daily Mail.

This latest legal filing is part of a growing dispute that began in December when Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment on set – allegations he has adamantly denied.

Responding to the lawsuit, Lively’s attorneys issued a scathing statement, calling it “another chapter in the abuser playbook.”

“This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation, and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO: Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim and Offender,” the statement said.

The attorneys accused Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, of using its resources to retaliate through “meritless lawsuits” and media manipulation.

They further alleged that Sony had specifically asked Lively to oversee the film’s final cut, which later achieved commercial success.

“Their response to sexual harassment allegations: she wanted it, it’s her fault,” the statement continued. “The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

In Baldoni’s lawsuit, he alleges that Lively disrupted production and alienated him from the cast. According to the filing, Baldoni and his family were relegated to a makeshift basement holding area during the film’s premiere at Lively’s request.

Security reportedly confined the group to a room stocked with concession stand supplies, with only foldout tables and chairs for seating.

Baldoni also claims Lively initially resisted reading the book the film is based on and acted insensitively during the promotional campaign, even naming a cocktail after the abusive male lead.

The suit alleges that Lively refused to meet with a domestic violence charity Baldoni had partnered with and mishandled the film’s serious themes in favor of promoting her own brand.

The lawsuit also highlights contentious moments on set, including an incident where Lively allegedly referred to her Hollywood connections as “my dragons” during a dispute over script changes. Baldoni claims he felt threatened and pressured to comply with her demands.

The tension reportedly extended to disagreements about the film’s tone, with Lively favoring a more upbeat portrayal while Baldoni sought to focus on the story’s darker themes of domestic abuse.

Despite the public feud and mixed critical reviews, It Ends With Us became a box-office success. However, the ongoing legal battles have overshadowed the film’s release, with both sides doubling down on their narratives.

Tragic story of adult star who earned millions before ending her life at 23

Shannon Wilsey, known to many as Savannah, was a big name in the adult entertainment industry in the 90s before she tragically died by suicide at the age of 23.

Savannah’s journey into fame began in her late teens after a tumultuous upbringing. Born into a broken home, she endured childhood abuse and rejection by her father, per the Daily Mail.

By 16, she was immersed in the world of drugs and was romantically involved with 40-year-old rocker Gregg Allman.

She toured the country with the musician, appearing in his music videos, and was introduced to a lifestyle of luxury.

“She liked the fact that he bought her expensive things that we never could,” her mother, Pam Longoria, told E!’s True Hollywood Story.

It was during this time that Savannah reportedly began using heroin, an addiction that would shadow her throughout her life.

After parting ways with Allman, Savannah returned to California, finishing high school and dabbling in modeling. By 19, she entered the adult film industry, signing with Vivid Video, the leading production company at the time.

“She was the most popular girl that we had under contract,” said Vivid CEO Steven Hirsch. “We were certainly guaranteed that her sales would be higher than any other girl that we’d had under contract at that time.”

Despite being young, Savannah took the industry by storm. Credit: Ron Galella/Getty

Savannah became an icon, winning awards and commanding A-list attention. She dated celebrities like Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, MTV VJ Pauly Shore, and was rumored to have been involved with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, though he denied it.

“She was beautiful. I loved everything about her,” Neil said of their relationship. “Gorgeous, great in bed. There’s nothing she wouldn’t try or do.”

However, Neil described their relationship as more casual than Savannah believed. “I think she maybe thought it was a little more serious than it was,” he admitted.

Despite her outward success, Savannah’s personal life was fraught with struggles. A serious cocaine addiction and volatile relationships with fellow stars, including Jeanna Fine, highlighted the darker side of her rise to fame.

Her behavior on set became increasingly erratic.

According to director Paul Thomas, she could be difficult to work with. “I often say she was a spoiled, Hollywood brat. She could be very inconsiderate and very loud in her inconsiderateness,” he said.

Yet others in the industry defended her. “She was very discriminated against because she was so big and didn’t take any s*** from anyone,” said her manager, Nancy Pera, per the LA Times. “She knew her value.”

By 1994, Savannah’s career was faltering, and she faced financial troubles. To make ends meet, she booked a feature dancing gig at a club, hoping to earn $5,000 a night.

However, a car accident on her way home from a party left her with a broken nose and dashed those plans.

In a frantic call to her manager, she said: “I’ve just had a horrible car accident. I broke my nose. It’s bleeding really bad and I’ve hit my head. You have to take me to the hospital.”

When Pera arrived at Savannah’s home, she found her in the garage, lying in a pool of blood with a handgun nearby.

“It looked like she had a big flower on the side of her head,” Pera recalled.

The death was ruled a suicide. Los Angeles Police Detective Mike Coffey explained: “She was not happy with her life as a whole, everything in her life.”

Toxicology reports revealed she had been drinking and using cocaine that night. Financial pressures and a history of childhood trauma were also cited as contributing factors.

In a conversation with her mother before her death, Savannah had expressed a desire to leave the adult industry but feared she wouldn’t be accepted in mainstream society.

While a YouTuber loved both vehicles, he said they came with their own issues secondhand

Buying a car is normally a pretty big and important decision, but a YouTuber has now issued some advice if you’re thinking of buying a second-hand Tesla.

YouTuber Samcrac thought he was getting one hell of a deal when he bought a used Tesla significantly cheaper than expected, but he wasn’t exactly right.

Speaking in a recent video, he explained that he bought the first-generation Tesla Model S for only $11,000 at an auction with 100,000 miles on it.

Sounds like quite the steal right?

Well, he explained that things took quite an annoying turn.

He said: “I bought this old Tesla Model S super cheap and I’ve owned it for 8 months now.

“In that time it broke, then it broke again, and again and today I’m going to fix it myself wishing I had just got a new one to begin with.”

Ouch. He went on to explain that he recently purchased another car, a secondhand Model S Plaid, and it came with similar issues.

You guessed it, it also kept breaking on him and needed repairs.

Speaking on his Model S repairs, it required he replace a battery fuse, front control arms, window regulator, trunk latch, and charge port door.

He was able to successfully fix some issues himself, but for others he needed to go to Tesla themselves which, as you can imagine, wasn’t cheap.

He also said in his experience, this proved to be a lengthy repair period and would often result in escalated costs of the initial quotation he was given.

In the end, he spent thousands of dollars on repair bills only months after the purchase.

Comparing the two second-hand cars, he called them ‘moneypits’ due to how much money he was having to shell out to get it fixed by a professional or do it himself.

Despite the issues he encountered, Samcrac said he still thought both vehicles were great cars. But he did have some wise words if you considered getting one that isn’t brand new.

Samcrac had to make many repairs himself (Samcrac/YouTube)

He said: “I still think they’re an amazing value as long as you can DIY fix them every time they break and as long as you don’t have some sort of catastrophic failure like a drive unit going out or like a high voltage battery failure.”

If you tend to rely on professionals to do your repairs, like most people do, a cheaper second-hand car might end up costing you more in the long run, so just be aware.

Not a bad career, this music business

If you had to rustle up a top 10 list of the richest musicians in the world, then you’d probably be able to get some of the names right at least.

Being some of the richest music stars in the world and being incredibly famous tend to go hand in hand, and there are certain performers whose level of fame is simply stratospheric.

You’d expect someone like Sir Paul McCartney to be incredibly wealthy, considering he was in The Beatles of all bands and has enjoyed a very good career even since then.

It’d come as no surprise to know that Madonna would be up there among the richest stars either, but there’s another name among that number that you probably haven’t heard of.

Herb Alpert.

If you don’t know who he is, he’s one of the wealthiest musicians of all time, has picked up a Tony Award, eight Grammys, and to top it all off, has sold over 72 million records worldwide.

Releasing a grand total of 28 albums, 14 of which went platinum, probably has something to do with his immense fortune.

According to Grey Journal, his net worth is estimated to be somewhere in the region of $850 million (£685 million), some of which comes from his incredibly successful career in jazz music and some of which comes from setting up his own record company.

There’s a hell of a lot of money flowing through the music industry, and if you want a bigger piece of the pie, then you’d best be one of the people responsible for selling the records and not just someone who makes the music that goes on them.

Along with his friend Jerry Moss, Herb Alpert set up A&M Records in 1962 and over the next couple of decades, they signed up a hell of a lot of artists.

In 1977, they even signed up the Sex Pistols in a big stunt outside Buckingham Palace after the band had been dropped by EMI, though the actual paperwork had been done the day before and it was only about a week before A&M dropped the punk band themselves.

Even though they sold the record label in 1989 for $500 million (and remember this was back when that was a lot more money), Alpert and Moss still managed it for the next four years and in 1998 sued the buyer PolyGram for breaking an integrity clause which eventually led to a $200 million payout.

So there you go boys and girls, if you want to make it in the music business and amass an incredible amount of wealth, then make like Herb Alpert and release 28 very successful albums while founding a record label that you can then sell for vast amounts.

That ought to be easy, shouldn’t it?

Best known for his work in the horror genre, with many such as The Shining and IT making it to screen, the American author is known as one of the best to ever put pen to page, with his ability to produce so much quality work over a short period of time leaving many in awe.

But there is one book among his bibliography that you wouldn’t be able to find in any bookstores.

It’s from pretty early on in his career – back in 1977, King released The Shining, while author Richard Bachman also published his novel, Rage.

But it turns out that King and Bachman were the same person, with the author’s name of the latter simply a pseudonym.

If you go looking for Rage though, you won’t find a newly printed copy, as the only ones left in circulation are those printed before the author decided he didn’t want it being released any more.

For a short while it was still being published in The Bachman Books collection, but now versions of those also come without the novel.

You can buy old copies that appear for auction online, but there’s not going to be new stock coming onto the bookshop shelves.

“Now out of print, and a good thing,” King wrote of Rage at the beginning of his novel Blaze, while during a speech in 1999 he explained why a 1997 school shooting from a 14-year-old named Michael Carneal where three were killed and five injured convinced him it was time to pull the book from print.

He said: “The Carneal incident was enough for me. I asked my publisher to take the damned thing out of print. They concurred.”

At the time of the shooting the 14-year-old had a copy of Rage in his locker.

Rage follows a high school student who carries out a school shooting after being expelled, killing two of his teachers and threatening to kill students unless his demands are met.

By the end of the book, the school shooter is shot, arrested, found not guilty by reason of insanity, and committed to a psychiatric hospital.

The book was linked to a number of school shootings.

Following the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012, King wrote the essay Guns where he further explained why he didn’t want Rage in print any more.
