Ricky Starks already has a new home with NXT.

Starks made a surprise appearance on Tuesday’s episode of NXT, entering the arena through the crowd in Orlando. Starks declared NXT needed a star like him, declaring his intention to call Tuesday nights home.

“It’s obvious you know who I am. If NXT is the future of professional wrestling, well, guess what? You need an Absolute Superstar of the Future! If this is the hottest brand, well, you need the hottest free agent around, baby,” Starks said.

Starks said he was there to flip NXT upside-down. He knows fans have been asking when the revolution would be televised again, borrowing from his catchphrase. Well, that’s why he’s there, Starks noted.

Ricky Starks’ road to WWE

Ricky Starks appeared on NXT just one day after he became a free agent. Starks had been under contract with AEW but had not appeared on AEW TV in several months. Starks’ last appearance on AEW programming was in March 2024.

AEW reportedly picked up an option year on his contract, extending it into 2025. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Starks’ AEW contract was set to expire in the spring. Earlier this year, Starks began taking independent bookings. He also reportedly asked for his release, but his request was denied by AEW.

Ricky Starks was asked about his absence from AEW television in a November interview with Chris Van Vliet. He recently confirmed he has not been injured and didn’t know the true reason for being kept off of AEW TV, but would love to know why.

Ricky Starks isn’t sure why he was kept off of AEW TV, but he wasn’t injured

“Beats me. I could have 1,000 theories about what’s really going on,” Starks told Insight. “The fact of the matter is that if I don’t have a definitive answer, I can’t just make up an answer for people and just assume. Would I love to know the exact reason? For sure. Do I have speculations about why? Absolutely. But that does nothing to speak on things that I speculate on; it does nothing for the situation. So I think it’s just a matter of, it sucks, it’s been a very cold day here in Austin. It’s been a very cold day. May have been cold for the past nine months, not sure. But thankfully, I have a sweater, and I’m always ready to keep the warmth going.”

“March was my last match. I’ve been home; I’ve been healthy. Never was injured. I did have a stinger,” Ricky Starks continued. “[It happened] in that match against Top Flight in March. I got immediately checked out, and everything was fine, but I was just concerned at the time. So that happened, and then I was just home. That’s kind of where it’s been at. I’ve just been home.

“It’s kind of a mindf*ck because I’m in my prime and it sucks when you’re on such a momentum, riding the wave, doing work and doing stuff, and then to just be at home for so long, you’re kind of like, whoa. It kind of throws it off. I am not meant to be at home. I’m not meant to be a homebody in this current phase of my life. I’m not meant to be just chilling at home and doing not the thing that I’ve been busting my ass to do for the past 13 years.”

Devin Booker scores 26 and the Suns survive a late scare to beat the Clippers 111-109

PHOENIX — — Devin Booker scored 26 points, Kevin Durant added 24 and the surging Phoenix Suns survived a late scare for a 111-109 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.

The Suns had a 103-90 lead with 5:06 left after Durant’s 3-pointer, but the Clippers went on a late 10-0 run, cutting the deficit to 107-106 on Norman Powell’s short jumper with 40 seconds remaining.

Phoenix’s Grayson Allen made two free throws with 10 seconds left for a 111-107 advantage, which was enough to close out the win.

The Suns have won nine of their last 12. Allen scored 18 off the bench while Tyus Jones added 17. Phoenix tied a season high with 22 3-pointers, making 46.8% of its shots from long range.

Ivica Zubac had 25 points and 16 rebounds for the Clippers. James Harden added 24 points and 10 assists, while Powell scored 23 points.

Los Angeles trailed 60-47 at halftime, but erased that deficit less than seven minutes into the third quarter, taking a 66-65 lead on Kawhi Leonard’s one-handed jam. The Suns recovered to take an 83-78 advantage into the fourth.

Takeaways

Clippers: Los Angeles almost pulled out a stunner after trailing for the majority of the night. They did a lot of things right, but couldn’t quite overcome the Suns’ 3-point barrage.

Suns: It was a nice win despite the shaky moments during the final few minutes. Phoenix has sometimes struggled to generate 3-point opportunities this season, but had 47 shots from long range on Monday.

Key moment

Allen missed a free throw on purpose with 1.3 seconds left and the Clippers out of timeouts. Powell’s full-court heave at the buzzer was way off.

Key stat

Booker and Jones both made five 3-pointers for the Suns.

The Clippers are at the Spurs on Wednesday. The Suns host the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Man Utd set new Marcus Rashford asking price ahead of January transfer window

Manchester United have reportedly set a new price tag for Marcus Rashford with the January transfer window on the horizon.

After being left out of United’s squad to face Manchester City earlier in the month, rumours surrounding Rashford’s future began to swirl.

During a revealing interview with journalist Henry Winter, Rashford declared his wish to seek a ‘new challenge’.

When asked about his future, the 27-year-old said: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

This week, a new favourite emerged in the shape of Barcelona, who are reportedly interested in signing the wantaway United star.

With the January transfer window now just days away, it has been claimed that a new asking price has been set.

Manchester United reveal asking price for Marcus Rashford

Having previously been claimed to be around £40 million, Caught Offside reported that United are now looking to bring in £50 million if they are to part ways with the Englishman.

The report also stated that the Red Devils have drawn up a shortlist containing the likes of Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Athletic Bilbao talisman Nico Williams and Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma as potential replacements.

On Thursday evening, United fell to another disappointing defeat as Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a vital 2-0 win thanks to goals from Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan.

When asked about Rashford’s omission, United boss Ruben Amorim simply said: “If he’s not here, you can make up your mind.”

After losing back-to-back fixtures in the Premier League, United are currently in 14th place in the table, eight points ahead of the bottom three and a huge 20 points away from leaders Liverpool.

Amorim said after the match: “It’s always the same reason. We have to be same professionals…same guys, winning or losing. Losing, I have to be stronger. I will continue with my idea until the end.

“I said it before everybody: it will be a long journey and this moment will be really tough. We have to continue. We need to have time to train.”

United will be back in Premier League action on Monday night when they take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Fans can't believe what Fulham posted on their official account following last-minute win against Chelsea

Fans can't believe what Fulham posted on their official account following last-minute win against Chelsea

Fans are in disbelief after seeing what Fulham’s official social media account following their huge late winner against Chelsea.

In perhaps the most dramatic match of a thrilling set of Boxing Day Premier League fixtures, Fulham beat London rivals Chelsea with a last-minute winning goal at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues led the match from the 16th minute as star player Cole Palmer scored the opener, but threw the win away after conceding in the 82nd and 95th minutes to Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz.

Following the match, Fulham took to their official social media to taunt Chelsea, and fans are not happy.

After securing the upset victory, Fulham’s TikTok account posted a series of images from the match taking a dig at former player, and current Chelsea defender, Tosin Adarabioyo.

And Fulham are clearly still frustrated at the 27-year-old’s decision to leave and join their London rivals, as in the TikTok they posted photos of the defender making a costly mistake during the match, allowing Fulham to win the match.

Not only this, but the post also points out a comment made by Tosin when he signed for his new club, saying: “If you can’t beat them, join them.”

While some fans found Fulham’s brutal dig funny, others hit out at the club, claiming that the post was disrespectful to their former player.

Commenting on the post, one fan wrote: “Put some respect on your former player’s name, a big club would never do something like this.”

Another user agreed adding: “I’m not a Chelsea fan but no matter the circumstance, you don’t roast your former player like that. Players can always talk to impress their new club, get their fans, clubs are beyond that. Low from admin.”

And one pointed out: “Tosin is also sat at 2nd in the league with a European goal on his tally whilst being a centre-back.”

After 132 appearances for Fulham during his time there, Tosin left the club last summer on a free transfer, signing a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Since then, the Englishman has made 15 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring a goal during the club’s huge 8-0 win over FC Noah in the UEFA Conference League.

Harry Maguire explains why Ruben Amorim is struggling at Man Utd in revealing interview about new head coach

Harry Maguire explains why Ruben Amorim is struggling at Man Utd in revealing interview about new head coach

Harry Maguire has defended Ruben Amorim in the wake of Manchester United’s damaging defeat to Wolves.

United suffered another disappointing result under their new head coach, losing 2-0 away at Molineux on Boxing Day.

Amorim’s side once again struggled and were reduced to 10 men when captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a second yellow shortly after half time, his third red card of the season.

Matheus Cunha then scored directly from a corner to put Wolves ahead before Hwang Hee-Chan sealed victory for the home side in added time to continue their upturn in form under new head coach Vitor Pereira.

Unlike his compatriot Pereira, Amorim has struggled to make an immediate impact at United during a busy festive period that has seen them play eight games in December so far.

Time on the training pitch at Carrington has been minimal since Amorim replaced former manager Erik ten Hag last month, and Maguire believes that could be holding the team back as the former Sporting boss looks to stamp his mark on the squad.

Maguire told MUTV [via MEN]: “I think it is really tough for the manager and his team coming in because it’s not like he has come in with a similar style to the old manager; they are the opposite of what they demand and what they want.

“It is probably tough for them because they know they want to work with the team on the training pitch and improve things, such as the defending principles and the set-play principles.

“It has been a tough month with games, but again, we do not want to use that as an excuse. This club demands winning and at the moment we are not.

“It is not good enough for ourselves, for the club and for the fans.”

The defeat leaves United 14th in the Premier League, just eight points above the relegation zone.

They are already 20 points behind rivals and league leaders Liverpool and Amorim admits it’s unlikely his side will qualify for Europe next season.

Asked if United could think of Europe come the end of the season in his post-match interview, Amorim replied: “No, no, no, no. We have to work on a lot of things in our club both inside and outside the pitch.”

United next face Newcastle at Old Trafford on December 30 before taking on Liverpool at Anfield on January 5.

Liverpool could suffer major blow that could derail their Premier League title bid

Liverpool could suffer a major blow that no-one saw coming in what could derail their season.

Liverpool are going strong under Arne Slot, who has enjoyed a stunning start to life at Anfield.

Slot’s side sit at the top of the Premier League and the Champions League as they fight on four fronts this campaign.

The Dutch boss has been aided by fellow countryman John Heitinga, who joined the Merseyside outfit during the summer.

Heitinga, who played for Everton during his playing days, departed West Ham United following the 2023/24 season to team up with Slot at Liverpool.

But he could leave Liverpool before the end of the season.

According to Football Insider, Heitinga is a ‘leading contender’ to be the new West Brom manager following the departure of Carlos Corberan, who has become the new head coach of Valencia.

It is claimed that Heitinga’s Premier League experience and his progressive style of management makes him an ‘attractive option’ for West Brom, who hope to keep their bid for promotion on track.

West Brom currently occupy seventh place in the Championship, level on points with sixth-placed Middlesbrough.

Heitinga has enhanced his reputation as a coach since arriving at Liverpool, with Slot heaping praise on the 41-year-old.

The Reds boss reckons Ajax made a big mistake in not appointing Heitinga as head coach permanently, saying: “Sven Mislintat did not choose Heitinga as head coach at the time and he left Ajax for that reason.

“Liverpool is now profiting from that. Apparently they did not realise in Amsterdam that they had an excellent coach in-house.”

If Heitinga left Liverpool for West Brom, it’d be a huge blow for Slot and the club alike following the role he has played since being hired as an assistant coach.

David Ornstein drops new update on Marcus Rashford's Man Utd future as next career move hinted

David Ornstein drops new update on Marcus Rashford's Man Utd future as next career move hinted

David Ornstein has dropped a new update on Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future as the journalist has hinted at his next career move.

Rashford has been excluded from Ruben Amorim’s last three match-day squads.

His future has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with the 27-year-old admitting he’s ‘ready for a new challenge’.

Naturally, Rashford has been strongly linked with several clubs, including a sensational swap deal that has reportedly been ‘given the green light’.

But Ornstein has suggested a loan deal might be a more ‘sensible’ idea considering the player is not currently playing and earns an extremely high wage.

He claims a January sale is hard to ‘envisage’, stating a summer move is more likely to materialise.

A loan transfer would give him the chance to ‘get back on track’ and ‘rebuild his value’ before the issue is revisited next summer.

Ornstein adds that taking Rashford on a temporary basis should avoid whoever gets him having to cover the whole of his salary.

Per the report, Man United have benefited from similar arrangements in the cases of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, who went on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Getafe respectively before securing permanent deals away from Old Trafford.

There is no indication they are pushing such a route yet, according to Ornstein who believes it is one to watch ahead of the transfer window reopening.

Rashford has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season and hasn’t played since his outing in the Europa League against Viktoria Plzen.

But the star forward is keen to play, according to Amorim who explained: “Yeah, it’s my decision. He wants to play. He is trying.

“When I feel that is the right moment, I will change something. Until then I will continue to think about what is best for the team.

“I spoke with a lot of players individually during training, so I’m trying to do things my way – it’s the only way I know.

“If I don’t do that, I will lose myself. And I will not lose myself. I know what I’m doing.”

Premier League giants 'drop out' of Viktor Gyokeres race in huge boost for rival clubs

One Premier League club has reportedly dropped out of the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

Sporting Clube de Portugal talisman Gyokeres is one of the most talked about players in European football.

The 26-year-old has been in prolific form in the 24/25 season so far, having notched 27 goals and recorded five assists in 26 matches across all competitions for Sporting.

As a result of his impressive form, Gyokeres has been linked with a host of different clubs from around the continent, including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain.

However, it has now been claimed that one Premier League side will no longer be in the race to sign the Swedish international.

As reported by Caught Offside, Arsenal are said to have decided against signing Gyokeres and have opted to battle PSG for the signature of a Serie A star.

Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain set to battle for Serie A star

It has been suggested that Arsenal and PSG are keeping a close eye on Atalanta’s highly-rated 25-year-old forward, Mateo Retegui.

Retegui has so far netted 14 goals across all competitions and is currently the top scorer in Serie A with 12.

As per Transfermarkt, Retegui has a market value of €35 million, which is considerably less than Gyokeres’ €75 million.

Arsenal will be back in Premier League action on Friday night when they take on Ipswich Town at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the match, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said: “I make sure that we utilise every player in the best possible potential. Everyone has to feel part of it.

“You need to rediscover players in different positions, relationships. It’s a great one. It’s a really good exercise and the boys are willing to do anything we demand them to do. That’s a really good thing as well.”

The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League table, two points behind Chelsea and six points adrift of leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t hesitate when naming the one player alongside himself and Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate

Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t hesitate when naming the one player alongside himself and Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate

Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t hesitate when naming the one player alongside himself and Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate
Cristiano Ronaldo has named the one player that can contend with himself and Lionel Messi in the ‘greatest of all time’ debate.

Ronaldo and Messi are considered as two of the all-time greats, with some believing that they are indeed the best in football history.

Others tend to bring the likes of Pele, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff into the debate, while older fans might even throw in Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas.

It’s a debate that fans will never universally agree on – yet everybody at least agrees that Ronaldo and Messi are up there.

And in an interview with Piers Morgan last November, the presenter asked Ronaldo whether Messi was the greatest player he had ever seen.

“Him and [Zinedine] Zidane probably, that I have played and fought with.

“Messi is an amazing player, he is magic. As a person, we share the stage 16 years. Imagine, 16 years we share.

“So I have a great relationship with him. I’m not a friend of his in terms of, what I mean friend is the guy who was with you in your house, speaking on the phone. No, but it’s like a team-mate.

“He’s a guy that I really respect the way he always speaks about me.”

Zidane, meanwhile, managed Ronaldo at Real Madrid between 2015 and 2018, with the pair winning three Champions League titles together.

As a player, he is considered one of the greatest midfielders of all time. He combined excellent passing and dribbling abilities with an eye for the spectacular.

His final act as a player was to guide the France national team to the World Cup final in 2006, but was sent off following his infamous headbutt on Italy’s Marco Materazzi.

He retired from club and international football after the final, ending a career that saw him play over 800 times for club and country, scoring over 150 goals.

Zidane won the Champions League and La Liga titles with Real Madrid, a Serie A title with Juventus and a World Cup and European Championship with France. He lifted the Ballon d’Or award in 1998.

In 2017, the Frenchman anointed Ronaldo as his greatest player of all time.

He explained (quotes via ESPN): “There have been many players who have made history at this club [Real Madrid]. But nobody has done what he has – the statistics speak for that.

“What he has done is impressive. So I think yes [he is the best in history].

“You know I think Cristiano is much better [than me], although I had a good career.”
