'Living Nostradamus' issues chilling prediction about 'vital turning point' in 2025

He’s certainly more talkative than the real Nostradamus, who has been dead for some time

The man known as the ‘living Nostradamus’ has made some predictions for 2025, and reckons this year will be a ‘vital turning point’ for mankind.

Brazilian man Athos Salomé is a bit more talkative than the actual Nostradamus, perhaps on account of the original mystic man being dead for almost 500 years, and thus no longer able to speak.

Despite being dead a long time, the original Nostradamus left behind a lot of cryptic predictions that have ended up coming true, at least depending on you interpreting them in a charitable manner and giving his decidedly indirect wordplay a lot of credit.

Meanwhile, Salomé’s predictions for 2025 are really heavy on technology, as he reckons digital currencies will rise, we could plug our brains into technology and AI will grow all the more powerful.

Not to pour cold water on the fine art of soothsaying but most people could likely have guessed those things would turn out to be true.

As for a little more detail, the ‘living Nostradamus’ spoke to the Daily Mail to say that he reckons AI-generated content runs the risk of kicking off ‘a new historical extreme of misinformation’ due to the growing role of deepfakes.

He suggested that we could make big progress with technology and potentially end up in disaster, and that our entertainment and media will be dominated by AI-generated content.

Some people have been playing with AI like it’s a toy, and Salomé fears a time when AI-generated scripts are being performed by virtual actors.

He also fears there will come a time that ‘the true nature of sporting competition vanishes away’ under technological progress, as he reckons people will get genetic enhancements and various implants that help them become better at sport.

The guy also thinks people will become increasingly addicted to virtual reality and that humanity ‘needs to reassess its technology connection’ as he believes we’re approaching a ‘critical point’.

Meanwhile, in further gloomy predictions, he suggested that rising tensions could kick off World War III, and that would be ‘not just a war of men, but of machines’.

He then wondered what comes next after such a conflict, but his crystal ball didn’t seem to know.

As for what the actual Nostradamus said of 2025, he suggested it might end up being the end of the world.

He wrote: “From the cosmos, a fireball will rise, A harbinger of fate, the world pleads. Science and fate in a cosmic dance, The fate of the Earth, a second chance.”

This sounds rather ominous, but perhaps we could focus on the ‘second chance’ part.
