A medical professional has explained how a teenager got pregnant from ‘oral sex’ after doctors discovered she didn’t have a vaginal opening.
It really is a medical anomaly that leads to a lot of questions from those reading about it, but thankfully, a medical expert is on hand to explain all.
The unmanned 15-year-old from Lesotho, in Southern Africa, was admitted to hospital back in 1988 with abdominal pain that was causing her a lot of problems.
Well, subsequent examinations revealed the teen was nine months pregnant, and the pain was down to contractions as she had entered labour.
Completely unaware she was pregnant, the teenager’s birth was far from standard as she had a condition known as vaginal atresia, which affects between 4,000 and 10,000 newborn girls.

According to Mayo Clinic, the condition “is a rare disorder in which the vagina doesn’t develop, and the womb (uterus) may only develop partially or not at all. This condition is present before birth and may also be associated with kidney or skeletal problems.”
Because of the 15-year-old’s condition, it was believed to be impossible for her to get pregnant unless she went down the IVF route.
Midwives had to perform a C-section to deliver the teen’s baby, who ended up being a healthy 6.2 pound baby boy.
So now that the baby was delivered successfully, experts worked on a conclusion as to how the Lesotho teen got pregnant in the first place.
The patient visited the same hospital nine months earlier, after a man stabbed her in the upper abdomen.
The attack with the knife had penetrated her abdominal wall and created two wounds in her stomach, with doctors treating her at the time and later discharging her.
It was the teen’s ex-partner who had attacked her after he caught the teen fellating her current partner.

Health experts ultimately concluded the sperm she had swallowed migrated to her reproductive organs, which caused the pregnancy.
Writing in the British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, medical experts said: “The fact that the son resembled the father excluded it as an even more miraculous conception.”
Doctors were puzzled as stomach acid is typically strong enough to kill sperm before it is able to fertilize an egg.
Experts believe that the teen being malnourished at the time of the brutal attack lowered the acidity in her stomach, allowing the sperm to travel through.
