Donald Trump has blunt response to reporter after being asked about Elon Musk and Marco Rubio

The POTUS wasn’t best pleased with the reporter’s line of questioning

Donald Trump cut a reporter off mid-question when grilled about Elon Musk and Marco Rubio.

Rubio, the United States Secretary of State, reportedly came to blows with the tech mogul during at the White House on Thursday (March 6).

According to the New York Post, Musk — the head of The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — accused Rubio of refusing to cut back on his number of staff. In fact, Musk allegedly said that Rubio had fired ‘nobody’.

Apparently, Rubio has been unhappy with Musk ever since his DOGE team ‘effectively shuttered an entire agency that was supposedly under Mr. Rubio’s control’, says the newspaper.

With the reports of tensions between Musk and Rubio in mind, President Trump was asked about the matter yesterday (March 7).

NBC journalist Gabe Gutierrez attempted to broach the topic with Trump, but he was quickly (and brutally) shot down.

Trump fumed: “No clash. I was there. You’re just a troublemaker.

“You’re not supposed to be asking that question, because we’re talking about the World Cup,” the POTUS continued in his telling-off.

“Elon gets along great with Marco, and they’re both doing a fantastic job. There is no clash.”

Trump proceeded to ask Gutierrez which outlet he was with, and when he said NBC, the president replied: “Ugh, no wonder. That’s enough. NBC.”

While the meeting seemingly descended into chaos, the president described it as ‘very positive’.

He penned on Truth Social: “We just had a meeting with most of the Secretaries, Elon, and others, and it was a very positive one.

“It’s very important that we cut levels down to where they should be, but it’s also important to keep the best and most productive people. We’re going to have these meetings every two weeks until that aspect of this very necessary job is done.

“The relationships between everybody in that room are extraordinary. They all want to get to the exact same place, which is, simply, to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Elsewhere in the post, Trump gushed about the ‘incredible success’ DOGE has had so far.

As of March 5, the Musk-headed department claims that it’s saved an estimated $105 billion — a huge increase from the savings reported last month.

As of figures posted on the DOGE website on February 24, it was said that the agency had saved $65 billion.

These figures are yet to be verified, however, as the likes of The New York Times has said that the DOGE site is supposedly ‘riddled with mistakes’.
