Many fans admitted they had shed a tear when they saw Carey sharing the stage with her daughter. Others talked about how precious they found Carey’s little girl. Throughout motherhood, Carey has remained dedicated to her children.
Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe, turned twelve this year, and their mother marked the occasion with an X post saying that she loved her children and thanked God for them every day.
Although her children’s names might seem odd to some, Carey revealed in her memoir that she chose their names because she wanted them to have the same initials. She named her daughter after Marilyn Monroe, and the young girl now has the nickname “Roe.”
Monroe’s talent has been evident to her mother for a while. When she and her brother were seven, they recorded a song together, after which Carey said she recognized the talent in each of her children.
However, Carey did not release the song her children wrote because she respected their father and her co-parent, Nick Cannon, too much to do anything without him being okay with it first.
While Carey knows how talented her children are, there is much more to them that she is proud of. Carey once revealed that her children had utterly changed her life because rather than only thinking about herself as she once did, she was now solely focused on her children.
When her children were only four, Carey admitted she could already see herself in them and that they mimicked what she said. Although Steve Harvey once warned Carey that she might not like her children when they were teenagers, she assured him she would try hard to remain as in love with them as she was when they were four.
