At the end of the year we get to look back at what we’ve accomplished this year, and technology usually helps with that.
Spotify Wrapped is arguably the biggest of the year and people often seem amazed to find out what music they’ve been listening to all year.
Of course, there are also those men who had Taylor Swift at the top of their list and had to frantically find excuses for their friends.
One that would be tougher to explain is the adult entertainment you’ve watched this year.
Luckily, P*rnhub doesn’t offer people specific analysis of their viewing habits, but it does give us an insight into what people generally enjoyed throughout the year.
The data, shared on Tuesday, highlights trends that span from the provocative to the peculiar, with experts noting an increasing interest in “less complicated” kinks.
The top global search term this year was “hentai,” a genre of Japanese anime featuring explicit characters and plots, per the New York Post.
Hentai took the top spot in the United States for the first time and was also the most-searched term in Brazil and Ukraine.
The genre surpassed other popular searches such as “MILF,” “lesbian,” and “anal.”
“MILF,” long a staple search term, retained its popularity in countries like the UK, Canada, and Spain.
However, the data also highlighted new areas of interest. Searches for “tradwives” rose by 72% worldwide, signaling a growing curiosity about traditional domestic roles.
A “tradwife” (short for “traditional wife”) refers to a woman who chooses to focus on homemaking, often embracing a submissive role in her marriage.
The trend, popularized by TikTok, has drawn attention to a lifestyle centered on cooking, cleaning, and child-rearing.
In a related trend, searches for “demure” content increased by 133%, following another viral TikTok about embracing modesty and mindfulness.
Other search terms such as “modesty” and “modest MILF” also saw significant increases, rising by 77% and 45%, respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum, the explicit and far-from-demure term “hawk tuah” also experienced a surge in searches.
If you’re unfamiliar, the saying was popularised by Haliey Welch during a street interview earlier this year, and she’s since built a career on the back of it.
The report also shed light on the most-searched adult performers. Australian star Angela White claimed the top spot globally, followed by Abella Danger and Violet Myers.
Additionally, gay p*rn actors experienced a dramatic increase in popularity among female viewers.
Searches for Dom King by women were 468% higher than by men, with Alex Mecum and Diego Sans seeing similar trends.
