The Loose Women panel star and model has been very open about her years of struggle with her health.
Katie, who has been an ambassador and activist since her tragic attack in 2008 at the hands of her former boyfriend and an accomplice, is no stranger to surgical operations.
She was just 24 years old when her ex, Daniel Lynch, 47, began to plot against her and decided he wanted to destroy her beauty with acid.

In March of that year, he enlisted the help of Stefan Sylvestre, who since fled the country to avoid capture, which saw him douse Katie in acid in broad daylight in the street.
Since then, she has needed to undergo 400 operations to heal from the injuries caused.
But if anyone has been following her journey, they’ll know that one of her eyes has been troubling her for some time.
While Lynch failed to take her beauty from her, given that she is both stunning inside and out, she endured physical harm at the hands of his orchestrated plan, and her battle continues today.
Katie shared her latest update yesterday (Friday 10 December) and revealed that she will be having another surgery to protect her left eye through the use of a prosthetic eye shell.
She wrote on social media: “After many years battling with my eye health, I’ve reached the end of road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell.

“This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me. As always I’m incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS and private health care system for their talent and kindness.”
The model added: “I will share my journey, I’m hopeful and nervous about being able tolerate it and would love to hear from any of you in the comments if you’ve been on this journey or have any advice…”
Her post included a picture of herself during the process, as well as a video of her doctor inserting the new eye.
Underneath her honest post, followers flocked to wish her well and praise her continued strength.
One user wrote: “You’re very brave Katie x I’ve been following your journey since your first documentary and I always get so excited every time I hear you’re doing something new or featuring in something new x you’re very brave x be kind to yourself”.

Whilst another added: “Oh wow, I have been inspired by you for years and you always keep inspiring. You’ve got this.”
Fans will recall that at the end of 2023, the presenter shared that after a previous eye surgery, things were not progressing well, as she said in an Instagram video: “I’ve spent the morning back at the eye clinic as I’ve got problems with my eye.
“I’ve got a defect and an infection that is becoming really hard to treat.”
Hopefully, after the prosthetic is completed, she will now be able to continue without so much trouble from her eye.
