Swifties have come up with a new theory

Fans think Taylor Swift just got the ultimate revenge on Kanye West following their long-running rivalry after he infamously tried to embarrass her at the MTV VMAs back in 2009.

For those who aren’t familiar with the awkward moment, the rapper jumped up onto the stage after Taylor won the award for Best Music Video with her song ‘You Belong with Me,’ interrupting her acceptance speech and cruelly shouting that Beyoncé should have won.

He rushed onto the stage, snatched the microphone from her hand and told the crowd: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

Shortly after the moment, Taylor told press: “I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I’d just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage … And then I wasn’t excited anymore after that.”

The hitmaker has discussed the moment a few times over the years, including how it has affected her, and now it looks like she has found the perfect subtle way to get her own back.

Fans think that Taylor, who has just announced the release date for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, picked the name for a specific reason.

In February 2016, Kanye released an album titled The Life of Pablo, which also features an orange cover.

Now, some fans are convinced that one of the reasons she picked the name is so that when people search ‘The Life of’ for Kanye’s album, her record will always come up first.

While it’s highly unlikely that this is true as Taylor probably didn’t consider her nemesis when coming up with her latest work, it is correct that the album names slightly clash and could cause this issue.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Taylor Swift doesn’t do anything by accident. It’s probably not a coincidence her album shows up in searches before Kanye’s Life of Pablo.”

A second agreed: “Taylor naming her album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ to show up before Kanye’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ in search results… her mind.”

While a third chimed in with: “Is Taylor Swift The Life of a Showgirl having a dig at Kanye The Life of Pablo???”

A fourth added: “It’s either Taylor Swift is an insanely calculating genius or the whole Swifties are just insane, some ne on TikTok just linked how this incoming album might be more about Kanye and it actually makes sense, he really has an album titled “The life of Pablo” and that’s insane.”

Someone else questioned: “Do you think Taylor named her album “The Life of a Showgirl” so that when you type in “The Life of” on Spotify, Kanye’s album “The Life of Pablo” comes up second instead of first?

Is she that level of petty?”

How Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got together

In their first joint interview together, the couple got into the story of how they met and revealed some sweet, never-heard-before details.

For those who aren’t familiar with the story, the NFL star famously used his podcast to publicly declare he wanted to date Taylor.

It came after he failed to meet her at her Eras tour show at Arrowhead Stadium, his team’s home stadium.

Taylor gushed: “It was such a wild, romantic gesture to just be like, ‘I want to date you’. But he never did any proper logistical planning. [He thought] because he knows the elevator lady, that he could talk to her about just getting down to my dressing room. That’s how it works in 1973!”

She added: “This felt more like I was in an 80s John Hughes movie and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox being like, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet’ … I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy – which is a big if – this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”

Taylor sent her mother and brother to buy back her music

Back in May, Taylor famously bought back the rights to her first six albums, ending a long-running battle over the ownership of her music.

And during the podcast, she revealed exactly how it happened – by sending her mother and brother to meet with the owners, rather than a fancy legal team.

She explained: “[These are] my handwritten diary entries from my whole life; these are the songs I wrote about every phase of my life’ … Rather than send lawyers or management in a big crew, I sent my mom and my brother. They told them what this meant for me, they told them the whole story of all the times we’ve tried to buy it, all the times it’s fallen through.”

When she found out the move was successful, she ‘very dramatically hit the floor’ and ‘bawled her eyes out’.

How Taylor and Travis handle all the attention on their relationship

When asked by Jason Kelce how the pair deal with such intense scrutiny and rumours, Taylor confessed: “I don’t see a lot of things.

“I’ve been in the music industry for 20 years. It’s pretty hard to hurt my feelings at this point.”

Meanwhile, Travis added: “There’s still some wacko theories from the beginning that I was like, ‘Oh no, how is she handling this’.

“The last thing I wanted to do was screw this up.”

Travis shares his thoughts on Taylor’s new album

After Taylor used her podcast appearance as a way to announce her upcoming album, Travis gave his take on her new music.

“It’s so much fun … I know there are only 12 bangers. It is a lot more upbeat and a lot more fun pop excitement. I think it’s a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on Tortured Poets, for sure,” he reviewed.

Swift made her podcast debut on ‘New Heights’, alongside Travis and Jason Kelce

The moment that all Swifties have been waiting for has finally arrived.

Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce ‘broke the internet’ earlier this week by announcing their joint podcast appearance, during which she also revealed that she is releasing a 12th studio album, titled ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.

In a very rare move, the singer sat down for an entire two hours with the Kansas City Chiefs star and his brother, Jason Kelce, on their New Heights podcast.

And ever since the episode dropped at midnight BST, fans have been picking out their favourite moments, as clips circulate on social media.

One moment in particular that left fans shocked was actually in the introduction, where American football centre Jason introduced Taylor as the guest on the podcast.

He went for a very lengthy welcome, showering the pop star with praise and listing all of her best achievements.

The sports star shouted: “Last December, she wrapped up the Eras Tour which spanned 149 shows across 51 cities, five continents, the most attended tour of all time.”

Then, Travis grabbed the mic from his girlfriend and laughed as he repeated: “Of all time!”

Now, this might seem like nothing, but some fans think he was referring to one of the moments in her career that wasn’t so enjoyable.

Of course, we’re talking about the infamous moment with Kanye West at the 2009 MTV VMA Awards.

For those who aren’t familiar, the rapper jumped up onto the stage after Taylor won the award for Best Music Video, interrupting her acceptance speech and cruelly stating Beyoncé should have won – for which he later apologised to Taylor.

Kanye said: “Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time,” which led some fans to believe that Travis’s comment was a dig at the rapper.

One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Millions of people just watched Travis Kelce casually reference the most embarrassing moment of Taylor Swift’s life.”

While a second eagle-eyed fan added: “Did anyone else catch that Travis repeated “Of all time” after the list of Taylor’s accomplishments in the exact same way that Kanye West repeated “Of all time” after he grabbed the microphone from Taylor and interrupted her award-acceptance speech?”

Everything you need to know about who would be safe from being drafted if US went to war

Everything you need to know about who would be safe from being drafted if US went to war

Everything you need to know about who would be safe from being drafted if US went to war

With President Donald Trump preparing to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, it’s worth knowing exactly what will happen if war is waged

As President Donald Trump prepares to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin for crunch talks on the conflict in Eastern Europe, there’s fears that Americans could be drafted into war if tensions bubble over.

If World War III does kick off, you’ll want to know everything on whether or not you could be selected to bear arms, and fortunately, I’ve got you covered. Well, metaphorically, as I’m actually British and I’d like to imagine we’d sit on the sidelines toward the end of it this time around.

Since the 79-year-old Republican reclaimed the Oval Office in January, he’s been pushing for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to cease but his efforts have bared no fruit whatsoever.

His administration has added an extra incentive to get involved, brokering a minerals deal, which will see the US establishing a reconstruction investment fund which means the sovereign state will work alongside its western ally to rebuild its heavily bombed infrastructure.

Then, of course, you’ve got Trump ordering the airstrikes of nuclear sites in Iran back in June.

Who will be drafted?

Since 1917, the US has been drafting soldiers through its Selective Service System – which is basically a lottery of everyone living in the US aged between 18 and 25.

As many as 1.9 million were conscripted into the military to fight in the Vietnam – which ran from 1954 until 1975.

To this day, Americans are ordered to register with the Selective Service System despite their not being an active draft call – failure to do so could result in a maximum fine of $250,000.

Currently, only young men must enrol. However, there’s talks to include women as part of the Selective Service Act of 1917.

Also included in the draft are refugees, green card holders and undocumented immigrants.

Who is exempt from the draft

As just mentioned, women are not included. Those with a severe disability may also be exempt but will still need to register.

Then there’s the conscientious objectors – a famous example being Desmond Doss, an US Army medic who served in the Battle of Okinawa during World War II and who the movie Hacksaw Ridge is about.

Conscientious objectors might be deferred on national need, so too could full-time students, those in the tech infrastructure business and essential workers.

Parents and caregivers with children could also receive hardship deferments.

The draft lottery

Men who turn 20 in the calendar year of whenever the lottery is called would be the first to be drafted. For example, if conscription began this year, those born in 2005 would be the first to boot up.

Then, it would be those who turn 21 in the year of the draft, then men turning 22 would be third, and it would continue until a man turns 26 – who would be not required.

Men aged 18 and 19 would be called once those aged 20 to 25 had been.

It would also be covered live by the media for national TV, and in this day and age would probably be live-streamed on social media.

How does the draft lottery work?

It works just like the lottery – or as close as you’d get anyway. There’s two large air lottery machines, the first has 365 balls – 366 for men born in a leap year and a date and a month is labeled on each of them.

The second, has the same number of balls but just with the numbers one to 366.

I’ll let the Government’s dedicated page for the Selective Service System explain the next part.

“One lottery ball is drawn randomly from the machine containing those with dates marked on them, and one is then drawn from the machine containing balls with numbers 1 through 365 (366 if the draft will call men born during a leap year) marked on them,” it notes.

“The date and number are paired to establish the sequence number for each birth date. For example, if the date August 4 is drawn first from the ‘date’ machine, and the sequence number of 32 is drawn from the ‘numbers’ machine at the same time, then those men turning 20 on August 4 would be ordered for induction processing only after men whose birthdays drew sequence numbers 1-31.

“The drawings continue until all 365 (or 366) birthdays of the year are paired with a sequence number.”

After completion of the lottery and the results are certified, the sequence of call is sent through to the Selective Service System and letters are sent out almost immediately.

It adds that they are sent ‘to men whose birth dates drew the lowest lottery numbers, starting with sequence number 1’.

Sam Ballard was dared to eat a slug by his friends, leading to a devastating consequence.
Man Ate Slug After Being Dared By His Friends And It Ended In Tragedy

A man was dared to eat a slug by friends, leading to tragedy.

Sam Ballard, from Sydney, Australia, was joking with friends over a glass of red wine in 2010 when a slug crawled across his pal’s concrete patio.

The group then dared the 19-year-old to eat the slimy creature, and so he did – ultimately, this action changed his life forever.

At first, everything seemed fine, and the friends continued with their evening, but days later, the avid rugby player began to complain of his health.

He was experiencing nausea, head pains, and dizziness, and as his condition worsened, his mom began to worry he had multiple sclerosis, which had afflicted his father.

Yet doctors didn’t believe this was the case.

Ballard told his mom he’d eaten a slug, to which she responded: “No, no one gets sick from that.”

However, to everyone’s shock, doctors confirmed the mollusk was the cause of his symptoms.

Doctors learned that Ballard had developed rat lungworm disease, also known as angiostrongyliasis or neuro angiostrongyliasis.

The rare but serious disease is caused by a parasitic roundworm that lives in rodents and can infect snails, slugs, and other animals.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says humans are accidental hosts who do not transmit infection to others. Most cases of the infection are diagnosed in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Basin, however, the parasite has also been found in Australia, among other areas.

While most cases of rat lungworm disease are mild, this sadly wasn’t the case for Ballard.

Not long after being diagnosed, Ballard fell into a 420-day coma. When he eventually woke up, he was paralyzed, and unable to eat without a tube or move without a huge amount of effort. He also required 24-hour care, seven days a week, reports CNN.

Ballard’s family and friends said the disease didn’t affect his mental abilities, with pal Jimmy Galvin telling The Sunday Project: “He’s in there, 100%.”

He added: “I apologized to Sam about everything that happened that night in the backyard. And he just started bawling his eyes out. I know he’s there.”

In a 2011 Facebook post, Ballard’s mom expressed hope for her son’s future.

She wrote (per MailOnline): “Sam is doing really well. He is still the same cheeky Sam, and laughs a lot.”

Heartbreakingly, Ballard never made a full recovery.

He was eventually released from the hospital but for the rest of his life, he needed round-the-clock care, had to use a motorized wheelchair, and was prone to seizures.

As 24/7 care is costly, his friends formed ‘Team Ballard,’ helping to raise enough money for his initial medical care.

But after some time, this wasn’t enough.

While Ballard became eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in 2016, his plan was cut shortly after, leaving his family in debt, reports Metro.

The NDIS said it was ‘working closely with the Ballard family’ to find a solution to the matter and increase Ballard’s package.

In 2018, Ballard tragically passed away at the age of 29.

Ballard’s family has insisted his friends must not feel any blame for the tragic outcome of that night.

The Sunday Project‘s Lisa Wilkinson said of Ballard’s friends: “I have rarely met a finer group of young men.

“They made a mistake, a spur-of-the-moment muck around of unforeseen consequences that should not define them. And their love and support for Sam has never wavered in the years since.”

Woman becomes latest victim to die from ‘toxic broccoli’ sandwich as 17 others are hospitalized

An Italian man named Luigi Di Sarno was the first known death case

A 45-year-old woman lost her life after eating a sandwich purchased from a food truck in Calabria last week.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, Tamara D’Acunto ate a sandwich reportedly containing sausage and turnip greens from a food truck before passing away on Wednesday (August 6).

She is the second person to have reportedly died after consuming an allegedly contaminated sandwich, with 52-year-old Luigi Di Sarno also dying after eating a sausage and broccoli sandwich in Naples.

Following Di Sarno’s death, the food truck, which served the sandwiches, was seized, with the product reported by ITV News to have been broccoli preserved in oil.

LBC reports that at least 17 people have also been hospitalized following signs of botulism, including two 17-year-olds and two women in their 40s.

Five of those in the hospital are reported to be in the ICU, PEOPLE says.

According to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), botulism is caused by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which can attack the body’s nervous system, resulting in breathing difficulties, paralyzed muscles, and even death in some cases.

The Paola Public Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating a botulism outbreak inside the food truck, with several products found to have contained botulism.

A prosecutor involved in the case said they’d assumed that the owner of the vehicle in question had only used ‘one kitchen tool to handle the food’, adding: “Otherwise it’s inexplicable.”

Luigi Di Sarno was the first person to pass away (Facebook)

However, Lawyer Francesco Liserre, the street vendor’s representative, insisted that the products on sale at the food truck were ‘stored in the refrigerator and opened when needed’ and that his client is ‘devastated’ by what’s happened.

“He is convinced that the contamination was already in the products,” added Liserre.

Ten people are currently under investigation, including the street vendors, several medical professionals who’d reportedly treated the two victims before their deaths, and managers of the companies responsible for manufacturing the contaminated product.

Maria Rosaria Campitiello, Head of the Department of Prevention, Research, and Health Emergencies, said in a previous statement that paitents were being given ‘lifesaving antidote treatments’, adding: “It should be noted that the foods at risk of botulinum toxin are homemade preserves prepared vacuum-packed, in oil, or in water, and, rarely, industrial products.

“This is why it is important to follow the rules for the correct and safe preparation and storage of food.”

And today (August 13), Calabria’s Region’s Department of Health and Welfare also issued a statement, which read: “The emergency procedure established in these cases has been activated, which requires immediate notification to the Poison Control Centre in Pavia, the only national centre designated for the management of botulism.

“No region or hospital in the country is authorized to store the antivenom in their own facilities.

“This serum, however, is exclusively available to the Ministry of Health, which holds it in designated secure locations and distributes it only through the Lombardy Poison Control Centre.

“The first two vials, used for the first patients, were sent directly from the Military Pharmacy in Taranto. However, as the number of cases increased, additional supplies became necessary.

“Yesterday, the Calabria Region, through Azienda Zero, provided a 118 aircraft that flew to the San Camillo Hospital in Rome, where the ministry had centralized additional vials of the antivenom to facilitate distribution.”

John Cena didn’t tell fiancée about Amy Schumer sex scene where she said he was ‘inside her’

John Cena has confessed that he never properly warned his then-fiancée Nikki Bella about one of his most eyebrow-raising movie moments; a steamy sex scene with Amy Schumer in the 2015 comedy Trainwreck.

The 16-time WWE champion, now enjoying a Hollywood career and recently embracing his first villain role in over 20 years, was still early in his acting journey when he landed the part of Steven, the overly muscular, gym-obsessed boyfriend of Schumer’s character, Amy Townsend.

The film opens with an intimate bedroom scene between the two characters that pushed the boundaries of comedy and believability. Schumer even joked in interviews that Cena “was actually inside me” during filming, a tongue-in-cheek claim that had fans talking.

At the time, Cena was in a relationship with fellow WWE star Nikki Bella. Speaking on Conan, he admitted that instead of preparing her for the scene, he dodged the subject until it was too late.

“Honestly, I didn’t think I’d get the part,” Cena said. “I kept putting off telling Nicole and having the discussion of, ‘Hey, there may be some graphic scenes.’ So when I did get it, I couldn’t say no. I kind of just walked in one day and said, ‘Hey, I’m doing this.’ That was the wrong approach.”

Bella’s reaction was… intense. “She has such beautiful brown eyes, but they glowed with red hellfire,” Cena joked. “She has such a great smile, but in that moment she turned into the alien and the predator at once.”

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Cena clarified that he wore a “modesty sock” for the scene, meaning Schumer’s claim wasn’t literal. On Club Shay Shay, he called Schumer “an angel” who made the shoot “so comfortable” despite the awkward nature of the work.

The scene also featured Cena’s bare backside and some bizarre dirty talk, with lines like “fill you with protein” and “put my green drink in you.” For Bella, it was more than just awkward viewing.

“Imagine seeing your man do a sex scene and having the whole world see his big butt,” she later said. “You get visuals. I swear, I couldn’t masturbate forever because I just thought of the sex scene.”

Despite the cringe factor, the couple stayed together for several more years. Bella even signed a 75-page document outlining aspects of their relationship, a testament to Cena’s famously meticulous nature. In 2017, he proposed to her in the ring at WrestleMania 33 after they defeated The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match, per PEOPLE.

However, the engagement ended in 2018. Cena later met Shay Shariatzadeh while filming Playing with Fire. The two began dating and tied the knot in a private ceremony on October 12, 2020.

It’s safe to say Cena now knows the importance of a heads-up before bringing home a Hollywood surprise.

Chanel Williams explained what it’s like being graysexual in hilarious fashion – by using tennis as an analogy

A woman has provided a hilarious analogy as to what it feels like to be ‘graysexual’.

It’s an identity the majority of people are completely unaware of, but as it slowly seeps into the mainstream, more and more people are becoming familiar with the term and discovering that they too are graysexual.

It’s been accepted into the broader LGBTQ+ umbrella, particularly within the asexual community.

Back in 2015, an ‘Asexual Census’ found that 1,427 people of 9,161 participants identified as graysexual – that’s 15.5 percent.

While the term itself was first coined in the early 2000s, it has gained traction online in recent weeks.

Now, Chanel Williams, a British TikToker with 2.3 million followers, has explained to her fans what her graysexuality is like.

“So I was hanging out with my friend the other day and he asked me if I could explain my sexuality to him so he could understand it a bit better because he knows what asexual is as a broad term but didn’t know specifically what it meant for me,” she shared.

Many would have been offended by the question, perceiving it as ‘ignorance’, but Chanel explained that that was not the case for her as she welcomed the curiosity.

The TikToker said: “Now to help you understand what that is like imagine the world is obsessed with tennis the way it’s obsessed with sex. Sex doesn’t exist anymore, we just have tennis.

“Your friend comes around like, ‘oh my god, it’s been eight months since I last played tennis. I know at this point my arms have cobwebs; I don’t even know if I remember how to serve anymore – at this point I’m just gonna have to go into town and find a stranger to play tennis with because, what am I going to do? I’m dying’.

“You’re out with your friends and a guy walks past and everyone under their breath is like, ‘oh my God, look at his arms. I bet he can serve. I bet he covers the court. Yeah, bet he can handle a racket.'”

She continued: “You’re on a dating app and you’re speaking to someone and every conversation that you try to have, they just keep trying to lead it back to tennis and sending you pictures of them in little shorts with a racket, and you’re like, ‘yeah, tennis is great. But anyway, back to what we were talking about before’. And they’re like, ‘yes, but tennis.'”

“Unless somebody turned up and was like, ‘Chanel should we go and play tennis’, and I’m like, ‘oh actually that’s a fun thing, yeah let’s go and do that’. I would never spontaneously think about tennis the same way that I would never spontaneously think about sex.”

Chanel went on to explain how if someone brought it up to her she would think, ‘oh yeah, that exists – that’s a fun time, why not?’, but that she has never experienced sexual attraction in her life.

“Inquiries confirmed she had last been seen by police in May the previous year,” she said. “Unfortunately, due to her vulnerabilities, including mental health problems and addictions, she had been in fairly regular contact with the police.”

Ms Gilbery said contact was made with Stevens, a former partner of Ms Sites, in April this year, making inquiries about her whereabouts.

“He told the police he had no contact with Ms Sites since February or March 2022,” she said.

On May 27, the police spoke with Stevens again, and he told them he was no longer living at the flat, so officers went round and gained entry.

“The officers who attended described the flat as being like that of a hoarder with rubbish, faeces and bottled urine scattered throughout the property,” Ms Gilbery said.

“Police started to search the flat, and upon lifting a blanket in the living area, they discovered a skeletal arm and hand.

“Officers did notice there were various fragranced items scattered around the lounge, inferring they must have been to mask any smells.”

Stevens, who was in a relationship with Ms Sites between 2011 and 2014, was arrested and told police it was her body.

“He explained she had come to his flat around January 2023 asking if she could stay the night,” the prosecutor said. “He went to his own bed and left her sleeping in the living room.

“The next day, he had gone out, returning at about 11.30pm, assuming that Ms Sites would have left, but instead he found her on the sofa.

“He explained he threw a blanket over her body and continued to live in his bedroom and never really returned to the lounge.”

Stevens had previously pleaded guilty to charges of preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice, and has been jailed for 14 months.

The second charge related to Stevens lying to police in a witness statement about his knowledge of the whereabouts of Ms Sites.

A Rock Legend’s Unfiltered Legacy

The death of Ozzy Osbourne on July 22, 2025, at age 76 sent shockwaves through the music world, marking the end of an era for the Prince of Darkness and Black Sabbath frontman. Just weeks after his emotional final concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5, 2025, fans and peers mourned the loss of a heavy metal pioneer. Amid the tributes, a claim surfaced on August 1, 2025, via a YouTube video titled “After Ozzy’s Death, Keith Richards Reveals the 6 Musicians He Hated The Most,” suggesting Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards used the moment to air old grudges. Known for his unfiltered opinions, Richards has a history of slamming contemporaries like David Bowie and Led Zeppelin, but no credible sources confirm a new list tied to Ozzy’s passing. This 1500-word article explores the speculation, Richards’ past criticisms, his connection to Ozzy, and the cultural context, questioning whether this “reveal” is truth or clickbait.

The Context: Ozzy’s Passing and Keith’s Longevity

Ozzy’s death, announced by his family, came after years battling Parkinson’s disease and injuries from a 2003 quad bike accident and a 2019 fall, which left him unable to walk (,). His final show, “Back to the Beginning,” reunited Black Sabbath’s original lineup—Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward—and featured Metallica, Slayer, and Yungblud, drawing 45,000 fans and 5.8 million livestream viewers (,). Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife, noted his voice remained strong despite his physical decline, a testament to his resilience (). The funeral on July 30 and 31, 2025, saw thousands line Birmingham’s streets, with rock royalty like Elton John and Marilyn Manson attending the private Buckinghamshire ceremony ().

Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones’ 81-year-old guitarist, trended online after Ozzy’s death, with fans marveling at his survival despite a similar history of excess (,). Sharon once quipped, “At the end of the world, there’ll be roaches, Ozzy, and Keith Richards” (), a nod to their shared reputation as hard-living survivors. Posts on X, like “Keith Richards outlived Ozzy—let that sink in,” reflected this fascination (). Richards’ 2010 autobiography Life details his heroin and cocaine battles, but he quit hard drugs by 2006 and smoking by 2020, crediting luck and moderation for his longevity (). The timing of the YouTube claim suggests it capitalized on this buzz, framing Richards’ past outspokenness as a fresh reaction to Ozzy’s death.

The Alleged List: Who Did Keith Richards “Hate”?

The YouTube video’s claim that Richards named six musicians he hated post-Ozzy lacks corroboration from outlets like The Guardian or NBC News. However, Richards’ history of blunt critiques provides a plausible basis. Drawing from sources like Far Out Magazine and Rock and Roll Garage (,), here are six artists Richards has criticized, likely fueling the speculative list:

David Bowie
In a 2008 interview, Richards called Bowie’s work “all pose,” saying, “It’s nothing to do with music,” and claimed Hunky Dory’s “Changes” was the only song he remembered (). Despite this, he later called Bowie a “good friend” and “true original” after his 2016 death, suggesting personal respect despite musical disdain.

Elton John
Richards labeled Elton John “an old bitch” whose writing was “limited to songs about dead blondes,” sparking a feud (). Elton retaliated, calling Richards a “monkey with arthritis” and suggesting the Stones should’ve ousted him (). Their beef, rooted in a disastrous 1975 Stones gig, underscores Richards’ sharp tongue ().

Led Zeppelin
In 1969, Richards said Robert Plant’s voice was “too acrobatic,” and in 2004, he called John Bonham “heavy-handed,” claiming Zeppelin “never took off musically” despite praising Jimmy Page (,). Page shrugged off the critique, noting mutual respect ().

Metallica
Richards dismissed Metallica and Black Sabbath as “great jokes” in a 2015 New York Daily News interview, saying, “I don’t know where Metallica’s inspiration comes from, but if it’s from me, I fucked up” (). This jab at Ozzy’s band adds irony, given Metallica’s tribute at Ozzy’s final show ().

Oasis
Despite Oasis’ Stones-inspired sound, Richards criticized their posturing, aligning with his dislike for flamboyance over substance (). Oasis covered Stones songs, showing respect despite the barbs.

The Grateful Dead
Richards called the Grateful Dead “boring shit” in a Rolling Stone interview, one of his many swipes at peers he found overhyped ().

These criticisms, spanning decades, reflect Richards’ preference for raw blues and rhythm over theatricality or technicality. The YouTube video likely repackaged these old quotes, tying them to Ozzy’s death for clicks, as no 2025 interview confirms a new list.

Did Richards Target Ozzy or Black Sabbath?

Richards’ 2015 comment dismissing Black Sabbath as a “joke” alongside Metallica is the closest link to Ozzy (). However, he never singled out Osbourne, and their shared history suggests no personal animosity. Both were blues-inspired rebels who shaped rock—Richards with the Stones’ Satisfaction and Ozzy with Sabbath’s Paranoid (,). Ozzy’s firing from Black Sabbath in 1979 for substance abuse mirrored Richards’ own struggles, and Sharon’s comparison of their resilience hints at mutual respect (). Richards’ absence from Ozzy’s funeral, attended by Metallica and Yungblud, wasn’t noted as a snub, likely due to his U.S. residence or Stones commitments ().

The claim’s timing feels opportunistic, as Richards trended post-Ozzy for outliving him, not for new feuds (). A satirical NewsThump piece even joked Richards “absorbed” Ozzy’s power, highlighting the cultural meme of his immortality (). If Richards made fresh comments, they’d likely echo his past disdain for theatrical acts, not target Ozzy directly.

The Cultural Context: Richards’ Outspoken Persona

Richards’ reputation as rock’s unfiltered voice drives such stories. His 2010 memoir Life and interviews, like one with The Daily News slamming rap as “tone-deaf,” show his willingness to provoke (). Fans on X celebrate this, with one calling him “the ultimate riff machine” who “never holds back” (). Yet, his critiques often spark backlash—Jimmy Page called them “hollow,” and Elton John’s “monkey” jab escalated their feud (). Richards’ defenders argue his honesty is refreshing in a “vanilla” music landscape, while critics see it as petty ().

Ozzy’s death amplified comparisons to Richards, both survivors of rock’s excesses. A 2011 study labeled Ozzy a “genetic mutant” for his drug tolerance, a trait Sharon linked to Richards (). Reddit posts marveled, “How TF did Keith Richards outlive Ozzy?” citing Richards’ cleaner lifestyle post-2006 versus Ozzy’s Parkinson’s and injuries (). This context makes the “hated musicians” claim a grab for attention, leveraging their shared mythology.

X posts post-Ozzy’s death focused on Richards’ survival, not new feuds. One user quipped, “Ozzy takes the crazy train to the other side and Keith Richards is trending?” (). Another, @mariomojc, recalled Sharon’s roach joke, adding, “Keith said he didn’t know how he was still alive” (). No posts mention a 2025 “hate list,” suggesting the YouTube claim didn’t gain traction. Fans instead shared tributes, like @TheRealSambora’s “Ozzy was a hero, and then he and Sharon became my friends” (), and @godsmack’s praise for Ozzy’s final show ().

The Bigger Picture: Ozzy’s Legacy

The focus on Richards’ alleged list risks overshadowing Ozzy’s impact. Black Sabbath’s 1970 debut and Paranoid birthed heavy metal, influencing Metallica and Slayer, who played his farewell concert (,). His solo career, with hits like “Crazy Train,” and The Osbournes reality show cemented his cultural status (). Despite biting a bat’s head in 1982, Ozzy was a “working class hero,” as fan Jack Ryland-Smith told BBC News, with Birmingham honoring him with a bridge and ballet ().

Richards, too, is a legend, with the Stones’ Hackney Diamonds (2024) and a potential 2025 tour showing his vitality (). His critiques, while biting, often come with respect—he called Bowie a friend despite slamming his music (). If he made a post-Ozzy list, it’d likely rehash old gripes, not target the late icon.

The claim that Keith Richards revealed six hated musicians after Ozzy’s passing appears to be a sensationalized rehash of his past critiques, with no 2025 evidence beyond a YouTube video. Richards’ history of slamming Bowie, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Oasis, and Black Sabbath fuels the rumor, but his silence on Ozzy post-death suggests respect, not rivalry. Both men, survivors of rock’s wild era, shared a blues-driven ethos, and Sharon’s roach quip linked them as legends (). Fans should focus on Ozzy’s legacy—100 million records, a genre born—rather than manufactured feuds. Check Guitar World or The Guardian for more on Ozzy’s farewell, and join the conversation about rock’s enduring rebels.

The Osbournes Announces Huge Family News Weeks After Ozzy’s Death

The Osbournes Announces Huge Family News Weeks After Ozzy’s Death

The BBC has announced a new one-off documentary, Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which will give fans an intimate look at the final years of the rock icon’s life just weeks after his death at the age of 76.

Scheduled to air on Monday, 18 August at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the hour-long film will follow the Black Sabbath legend’s journey as he and wife Sharon attempted to move back to the UK while he battled ongoing health problems. Viewers will also see Ozzy’s fight to take to the stage one last time, culminating in his final performance at the band’s massive homecoming gig in Birmingham on 5 July — an emotional night that featured some of the biggest names in rock and metal. Just over two weeks later, on 22 July, Ozzy passed away at home surrounded by his family.

The project was originally planned as a multi-part series titled Home to Roost, announced back in 2022. However, as Ozzy’s condition worsened, it evolved into a single, poignant tribute capturing his last years. According to the BBC, the film is “full of love, laughter and tears” and offers “unforgettable family moments” while showing a candid and uplifting side of a man whose life was anything but ordinary.

Alongside exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the documentary will feature Ozzy with wife Sharon, son Jack and daughter Kelly, offering fans a rare glimpse into the family dynamic away from the public eye. At one point in the film, Kelly reflects on her father’s health struggles, saying: “Iron Man wasn’t really made of iron.”

Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning for Documentaries, said the corporation was “honoured” to work with the Osbournes, adding: “We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Producers Ben Wicks and Colin Barr from Expectation described the documentary as a “privilege” to make. “Ozzy was loved by millions not just for his music, but for his sense of mischief and his honesty,” they said. “In the final years of his life, what stood out most was his intense love for his exceptional family, who were by his side through it all.”

The cause of Ozzy’s death was confirmed earlier this week. His death certificate listed “acute myocardial infarction” and “out of hospital cardiac arrest” as the primary causes, with “coronary artery disease” and “Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction” also noted as contributing factors.

In the days following his death, tributes have poured in from across the music world. Fans lined the streets of Birmingham on 30 July for his funeral procession, waving Black Sabbath banners and blasting his music in celebration of his life. The following day, he was laid to rest in a private burial near the lake on his 250-acre estate.

His children have since spoken publicly about their loss. Son Jack posted an emotional message on 6 August, saying he had been unable to speak about his father’s death until then because his heart had “hurt too much.” He wrote: “He was so many things to so many people. But I was so lucky and blessed to be a part of a very small group that got to call him Dad. My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.”

Kelly Osbourne also thanked fans for their outpouring of support: “I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough. Knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

With Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, the BBC aims to capture not just the career of a heavy metal legend, but the private, family-focused man behind the public persona — a fitting farewell to one of music’s most unforgettable figures.

Gail Lane was able to see her dog for the first time

A blind woman has had her sight restored after 10 long years thanks to a ‘miracle’ operation.

Gail Lane has become the first Canadian in history to regain her vision thanks to ‘tooth-in-eye’ surgery – medical name, ‘osteo-odonto keratoprosthesis’, but that’s a mouthful – or at least it was before the tooth was taken out!

The 75-year-old was gradually blinded a decade ago following complications with an auto-immune disorder which led to scarring on her corneas.

Lane, of Victoria in British Columbia, was one of three patients to undergo the procedure in Canada back in February.

However, six months on from the procedure she is still not able to see the world as she once did but shared that it’s a slow process and one that excites her.

“I’m starting to see facial features on other people as well, which is also pretty exciting,” Lane explained.

“I’m hoping to have more mobility and independence in terms of short trips and walks here and there where I don’t always have to have someone’s arm for me to grab onto.

“I’m just looking forward, really, to seeing what I can do or do again – and trying to just be patient and let my brain adjust a bit because that’s another big part of this.”

She added: “It’s been a long, it’s been a long wait, but well, well worth it.”

Lane’s starting to see the facial features of her partner – who she has never seen before as their romance blossomed after she became blind, as well as their black Labrador, Piper.

Following the completion of the complex surgery, which was undertaken in two parts, she was able to see light and her dog’s tail wagging.

Lane will be receiving a new pair of glasses soon, and hopes to be able to see her own face again for the first time this year.

The genius behind the surgery is Dr Greg Moloney, of Mount Saint Joseph Hospital in Vancouver, who mimicked the same procedure that he has seen carried out in various countries around the world.

How does tooth-in-eye surgery work?

The ophthalmologist said: “It’s a complex and strange operation, but it basically involves replacing the cornea.”

Dr Moloney explained that the procedure starts with removing a tooth from the patient’s mouth before implanting it into their cheek, where it will be covered by sturdy connective tissue over the space of a few months.

The tooth is then removed and a lens is carefully placed into it. The connective tissue is then used to hold it in place while both the tooth and the lens are stitched into the patient’s eye socket.

“We need a structure that is strong enough to hold onto the plastic focusing telescope, but is not going to be rejected by the body,” Dr Moloney added.
