Disturbing reason why Guinness World Records stopped allowing people to attempt world's longest kiss

The record company launched a new record to replace the world’s longest kiss

Lots of people would happily lose an afternoon to smooching their partner – assuming they hadn’t just devoured some sour cream and onion chips – but actual attempts for the world’s longest kiss had to be scrapped by Guinness World Records for a concerning reason.

Once upon a time, the ‘World’s Longest Kiss’ record was up for grabs, ready to be bestowed upon whichever two people could successfully keep their lips locked the longest.

In 2013, those two people were Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat; a Thai couple who had entered a competition for the world’s longest kiss held by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand.

The rules of the record

As per Guinness World Records, were as follows:

  • The kiss must be continuous and the lips must be touching at all times. If the lips part, the couple are immediately disqualified.
  • Contestants may consume liquids via a straw during the attempt, but again, the lips must not part.
  • The couple must be awake at all times.
  • The contestants must stand during the attempt and cannot be propped together by any aids.
  • No rest breaks are allowed.
  • Adult nappies/diapers or incontinence pads are not allowed to be worn.

Couples attempting to break the record were allowed to take trips to the toilet, but they had to remain kissing the whole time while also being monitored by a referee.

It’s probably not the kind of scenario many couples would be prepared to encounter during their relationship, but these contestants were obviously OK with it.

The event kicked off on February 12, 2013, with nine couples – including one couple in their 70s, who dropped out after an hour and 38 minutes because the husband couldn’t stand up any longer.

But Ekkachai and Laksana stayed strong, and 58 hours and 35 minutes later, they officially held the record for the world’s longest kiss. The couple won the grand prize of 100,000 Thai Baht ($2,967), as well as two diamond rings also worth 100,000 Baht.

It’s an incredible feat – especially with the logistics of going to the bathroom – but after Ekkachai and Laksana set the record Guinness realized that it was too risky to continue.

Kissing comes with some health risks (Getty Stock Image)

Kissing comes with some health risks (Getty Stock Image)

Why? Well, as determined contestants fought to continue their kiss, they became subject to dangers associated with sleep deprivation, such as psychosis.

One example of this occurred in 1999, when record holders Karmit Tzubera and Dror Orpaz almost fainted after securing the record with a kiss which lasted 30 hours and 45 minutes and had to be rushed to the hospital to be treated for fatigue.

In 2004, another contestant suffered muscle cramps during the attempt and needed his partner to massage him to help him deal with the pain. After 31 hours and 18 minutes of kissing, he then had to be resuscitated with oxygen.

So Guinness scrapped the record for the sake of people’s health – but if you still fancy trying to secure a title for tonsil tennis, there is the ‘longest kissing marathon’ record, which does permit rest breaks.

Married couple reveal exactly how they became Pornhub's most viewed amateurs

Yiny and Leon don’t consider themselves adult film stars, despite their success

Pornhub’s most-viewed amateurs of 2022 racked up over 1.2 billion views and opened up about the key to their success.

If you’ve been married for a while, you may be looking for a way to spice up your love life and one couple certainly decided to do just that – but just in full view of the internet too.

And not just once or twice, but over 250 times! Yiny, 38 and Leon, 42 – who go by the name Yinyleon – uploaded hundreds of videos to the adult film site within just four years of entering the world of adult entertainment.

The videos ended up racking in some serious numbers too, obtaining more than 1.2 billion views so much so, the pair were named Pornhub’s most-viewed amateur model of the year for the second time in 2022.

The adult film stars later opened up about why they believe they’re so successful, joking while they’re both just ‘very horny’ there’s definitely a lot more that goes into their videos than just that.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, the couple said they ventured into the adult industry after watching a YouTube video of another couple talking about their success in it.

“We were always very sexual, and we said, ‘Let’s do porn’,” said Yiny.

In their first month they made more than $2,000 and they went on to amass between $15,000 and $25,000 a month.

Leon said at the time: “It’s ridiculous. I was in the military for 13 years, but I left because what I made in the Army in a year, here I make in a month and a half, two months.”

The pair reveal it’s their outdoor videos which helped them stand out most – filming themselves having sex in the middle of a run or hike.

And it’s clearly paid off too, the category having grown 121 percent in 2022, according to Pornhub.

However, despite their success, Leon doesn’t ‘consider’ himself a porn star, noting: “It’s never going to be my intention to try to look professional or anything. But thank God people say, ‘Wow, what great production you guys have’. Really, it’s just us with a cellphone.”

Yiny added: “I think that’s why we rose to the top — because everything looks so real, the ladies are so comfy on the grass, while we’re on top of rocks, trees…anywhere.”

Scientists reveal when Jesus was really born and say it's not what people think

December 25 marks the 2,023rd birthday of Jesus, according to many religious beliefs

Scientists have revealed when Jesus was really born, and it’s certainly not the date you’d expect.

With Christmas fast approaching and millions getting into the festive spirit with parties, presents and turkey, the big day represents a deeper meaning for many.

For many, December 25 marks the 2,023rd birthday of Jesus Christ – but the reality, according to some experts, is that Jesus wasn’t born on that certain day in December.

While we don’t know for sure, researched detailed in the MailOnline suggest that Jesus may have been born during the spring, throwing curveballs into everything many have believed for so many years.

On top of that, experts are suggesting Jesus may be a lot older than we all think, and the fact there’s no reason to believe Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Professor Lawrence Mykytiuk of Purdue University in Indiana said: “It remains a humbling fact that despite various claims, no one in modern times is really certain of the exact year of Jesus’ birth.”

Historian Flavius Josephus told the outlet that there was a lunar eclipse shortly before King Herod the Great of Judea died.

How does this look into Jesus?

Well, according to the bible, Herod said that all Jewish boys under the age of two must be killed.

While we can still not confirm this as a definite, it would suggest Jesus was born at least 24 months before King Herod’s death.

As for potential death dates of the king, according to experts these are: December 29, 1 BC, January 10, 1 BC, March 13, 4 BC and September 15, 5 BC.

Professor Mykytiuk added: “Josephus also tells us in two places that the Jewish Passover occurred soon after the death of Herod the Great. Because the Passover is observed in the spring; September, January, and December are ruled out.”

The professor continued: “It is most unlikely that Jesus was born on any day in December, let alone on December 25th, because ‘there were shepherds living out in the field, keeping watch over their flocks at night’.

“During winter, shepherds kept sheep in the fold to protect themselves and their sheep from severe weather. This fact of plentiful grass in March fits with the lunar eclipse occurring shortly before the death of Herod the Great.

“The narrowest date one can confidently arrive at for Jesus’s birth seems to be the month of March, during the years 6, 5, or 4 BC.”

Expert explains why your poop is green and serious reason why you might need to go to the doctors

Most of the time, the change isn’t anything to be too concerned about

Our toilet habits might be a taboo subject, but they can offer us some important insights into our health.

Some of us are ‘voluntary withholders’ without even realizing it, while others can’t seem to ever get off the porcelain throne and feel the need to poop after every meal.

Usually, a change in bowel habit isn’t anything to worry about.

But there can be some alarming changes that might worry us – including the color of our poop changing.

If one day you began passing green stool, for example, you’d be pretty concerned.

Fortunately, health experts have explained what it could mean and when you should seek help.

Why is my poop green?

Green poop can be explained away by a number of reasons (Peter Cade/Getty Images)

The most common reasoning behind green stool is major changes in your diet.

And it’s usually because, well – you’re eating your greens!

Vegetables like broccoli, kale, spinach, peas, and asparagus are rich in chlorophyll, the chemical that gives plants the ability to make energy from sunlight.

This can help in turning your poop green.

But other strong-colored foods can have the same effect – think blueberries, smoothies, soda, food coloring in icing, and ice pops.

Medication can turn your poop green

Some medications and illnesses can have an impact on your stool. According to UK charity Guts UK, some antibiotics can make your poop turn a funny color.

And being unwell, like having a gastrointestinal (GI) illness, could also be the cause. If you have such an infection, you’ll also probably notice you’re going to the toilet more often.

Crohn’s disease is among the GI illnesses that could be causing the discoloring. This causes significant inflammation in your digestive tract, leading to diarrhoea, stomach aches and cramps, and even blood in your poo.

Those suffering from gluten intolerance – known as celiac disease – can also experience green poop as a side effect of the illness.

More serious illness

Some bacteria can change the color of your poop, such as salmonella, norovirus, and even a parasite known as giardia.

They cause your guts to empty quicker than normal, which is where the discoloration comes from.

Other people might have an undiagnosed liver or bladder problem.

Guts UK adds: “Green poo can also be caused by a condition called bile acid diarrhoea, where bile stays in the stools without being reabsorbed, and hence discolours the poo.

“This can occur if you have liver or gall bladder disease, or if you have had bowel surgery or disorders of the small intestine.”

Howard E. LeWine, Chief Medical Editor at Harvard Health Publishing, said: “Intermittent green stool in someone who otherwise feels fine is usually related to eating dark green vegetables, such as spinach and kale.

“Another reason for green poop is the rapid passage of green bile from the small intestine when a person has diarrhoea.

“Medications, including bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol), iron supplements, and some antibiotics, may also result in greenish colored stool.”

Landlord who owns more than 100 homes claims anyone can ‘do it’ if they ‘put the work in’

An Australian property scout has revealed what ‘people need to realize’ when it comes to getting on the ladder

A landlord has decided to part some wisdom on why home-owning is more accessible than we think.

It’s 2024. The housing market has been well and truly f**ked. The generations above you are cackling over how they managed to score a property for the price of a packet of fries and the likelihood you’ll ever own a home is ridiculously low – or so you apparently thought.

Australian property investor Sam Gordon has since opened up on why people ‘just need to realize that it it literally accessible for anyone’ to invest in property.

“It’s literally accessible to anyone”

Gordon tells The Mail Online Australia he believes if anyone is ‘willing to put the work in and go down the avenue of building a portfolio’, then they can do it.

“I think people need to realise that it is literally accessible to anyone to do it, if you’re willing to want to educate yourself around how to do it properly,” he states.

He also argues the government ‘wants’ people to be able to get to a place to ‘replace their own incomes or do that as close as possible or even more’.

“Then, when they get to retirement, they’re not relying on the government for the pension,” he says.

But how is Gordon putting his money where his mouth is and what’s his method which makes it all so ‘accessible’?

Do you think getting on the property ladder is easier than everyone makes it out to be? (Getty Stock Images)

Do you think getting on the property ladder is easier than everyone makes it out to be? (Getty Stock Images)

How he invests

Well, the property owner has ‘done very well’ for himself in the space of ’15 years’ although he notes he has been investing ‘for almost half the time’ he’s been alive.

“I buy a lot of stuff that almost 95 per cent of people couldn’t buy, and 99 per cent people wouldn’t buy, and do a lot of renovations to bring them back,” Gordon says. “I bought dilapidated, run-down, unliveable [houses] direct from banks, like repossessions.”

Gordon then renovates the properties, brings them ‘up to standard’, and ‘a lot of the time’ will ‘build a secondary dwelling’ too, adding rental stock back into the market.

He notes it’s ‘obviously’ not ‘free’ and ‘not a charity’, but how he buys and develops properties helps ‘take pressure off of the public housing system’ and fills a gap the government aren’t able to.

Gordon resolves: “If it weren’t for private investors like myself, the government wouldn’t be able to afford to supply all the rental properties that Australians need.”

Elvis' former bodyguard reveals heartbreaking reason the rock legend 'didn't like to be touched'

Elvis’ former bodyguard has spoken out about the months leading up to his death

Elvis’ former bodyguard for his final tour has spoken out about the reason ‘he didn’t like to be touched’, and why he felt very ‘sour’ towards women.

Known as the ‘King of Rock n Roll’, Elvis was every woman’s dream in the 1950s.

But despite his astronomical fame, the Jail House Rock singer had quite a turbulent life in the spotlight.

Ted Pryor, author and former bodyguard for Elvis, has now spoken out about his lifestyle during his final ever tour, noting that he hated to be ‘touched’.

In the months leading up to his death in 1977, where Pryor made sure the singer was safe, he was reportedly in a lot of pain.

Pryor was a a super middleweight kick boxing champion, and was hired to the Presley team due to Elvis’ fascination with martial arts.

Talking to Fox News, the bodyguard said: “Elvis, when he was younger in the service, he learned a little bit of martial arts, and he was infatuated with it.

“Getting to bodyguard for ‘the King’ was pretty exciting for me.”

But on his final tour, Elvis’ weight gain was analysed critically by both the press and the public.

“He was really heavy,” Pryor added.

The bodyguard also noted that there was a very specific reason why Elvis didn’t like to be touched.

He said: “Elvis was at a point where he was so heavy he didn’t like to be touched, because he was constantly perspiring and hot.”

Reasons for the final tour were also brought to light, as Pryor said: “Unfortunately, no one knew it then, but he was broke.

“He had to start touring, because his manager gambled his money away.”

Despite his struggles, he added that he has fond memories of his time with the sensation, noting that he treated the bodyguards ‘really well’.

However, after having a female dominated fan base for many years, in later life, Pryor noticed him turn ‘sour’ towards women.

He outlined the reasons for it, saying: “He lost his mom, he lost his wife, and he was sour toward women.”

When Elvis died on August 16 1977, the whole world was completely taken back – especially due to the nature.

He suffered a cardiac arrest, meaning the death wasn’t something his family, friends, or devoted fans, had prepared for or expected.

Pryor said: “I think the whole world was shocked when that happened.”

It’s the most-watched film in the US on the streamer right now

Netflix viewers say an ‘insane’ Megan Fox movie which hits a bit too close to home is a ’10/10.’

With winter in full swing and reminders of Christmas at every corner, some of us just want a bit of escapism.

Netflix isn’t short on choice, with fans loving an ’emotional rollercoaster’ Mexican revenge series and a new thriller with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

But a movie featuring Megan Fox and robot sex is topping Netflix’s movie charts this December.

Yes, you read that right…

In her latest role, Fox plays Alice, a revolutionary AI droid designed to help families around the home.

Father and daughter Nick (Michele Morrone) and Isla Peretti (Matilda) buy her after wife/mom Maggie (Madeline Zima) falls ill with a heart condition.

But self-aware Alice soon becomes infatuated with Nick, with bloody consequences.

There are some pretty raunchy moments, too, with Alice blind-folding Nick and changing her voice into Maggie’s so he’d have sex with her. How’s that for manipulation!?

You can watch the trailer for the SK Dale-directed movie – called Subservience – below:

Fans have since flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the film. Over on X, one fan said: “Subservience on netflix is crazy, megan fox killed that role” as a second agreed: “Wow Subservience was awesome it’s like Terminator meets I,Robot with a splash of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, it was so good, @meganfox was perfect casting.”

Some were afraid we were getting a glimpse into the not-so-near future, with android robots already in operation – just look at streamer Kai Cenat and his $24k humanoid robot.

One person wrote: “This Subservience movie on Netflix is insane!!! What if we actually get to that point where AI robots do everything?? I really hope not.”

A second said: “Subservience was the craziest s**t I’ve watched in a minute… it was a lil bit too real.”

A third agreed: “Watch Subservience on netflix! They giving us glimpse of whats about to happen i dont find that robot s**t funny or cool.”

Critics over on Rotten Tomatoes weren’t overly impressed with the movie, though, rating it just 50 percent.

Many praised Fox’s ‘alluring’ performance, but others slammed it as ‘predictable,’ with The Guardian’s Leslie Felperin reckoning it could’ve been a ‘cult classic’ had it been a bit smarter.

Subservience is available to watch now on Netflix.

The results are ‘significant’

A two-time Tesla owner has revealed how much he pays each month to charge both of his vehicles and the results are ‘significant’.

Well, should you ever find yourself in a position in life where you can afford not just one, but two Teslas and fancy knowing how much it’ll set you back in your electricity bill then don’t worry, a YouTuber has you covered.

Travel Tesla Dad took to his YouTube page to break down how much he spends per month on charging his two Tesla vehicles – a model Y and a model three.

The content creator explained that he lives in California and doesn’t use solar panels to help generate cheaper electricity, instead on a plan called ‘Time of Use’.

The YouTuber said he ‘typically’ charges his vehicles between 8:00am and 4:00pm on weekdays or after 9:00pm because he pays 21 cents and revealed the breakdown of this when it comes to charging his two electric vehicles.

Travel Tesla Dad revealed the total energy he used to charge his two electric vehicles came to 1,342 kWh.

The breakdown of the bill saw the cars use 213 kWh in mid-peak, 705 kWh in off-peak and 424 kWh in super off-peak.

This is a total of $105.55 in mid-peak, $141.34 in off-peak and $85.01 in super off-peak, coming to a grand total of $331.90.

Some ‘other credits and charges’ of $36.45 then take this to a ‘whopping’ $368.35.

“I could easily tell this is due to my model three,” the YouTuber added, before breaking each vehicle down further.

The YouTuber shared the Tesla report on the vehicle which states the car was charged with a total of 428 kWh which cost him $85.

On the other hand, the Model Y saw a total of 463 kWh used and a spend of $45.

And it’s not taken long for social media users to weigh in.

One YouTube user wrote: “Consider that most people spend about $70 per week if not more on gas, this is significantly less expensive. Nice break down, thanks for the vid!”

Another added: “The app makes it real easy to see the break down. Not only is is cheaper than gas but also way more convenient than stopping at gas stations.”

A third commented: “Cost 8.2c/kwh off peak for me. I live in Canada Toronto. Been saving so much gas money with my Tesla.”

And a fourth simply resolved: “If you can afford this magnificent machine, all power to you.”

American living in the UK reveals one of the biggest culture shocks she’s had to get used to

Melissa Mendez ditched the Florida sunshine for London

An American living in the UK has revealed one of the biggest culture shocks she’s had to get used to after moving across the pond.

I think it’s safe to say there are plenty of differences between Americans and Brits, from the toilet situation to the prevalence of driving and the cost of living.

Now, another culture shock between the two nations has gone viral on TikTok.

Melissa Mendez, who is from Florida but has since moved to London, has experienced a ton of culture shocks since moving to the UK, some of which she’s struggled to get her head around.

The TikToker has launched a series known as ‘Culture shocks I’ve had in the UK as an American’, and in one particular video, Melissa spoke about the difference in emotions, and in particular, emotional responses in the UK compared to the US.

“Tell me why every time there is this huge event, like something out of the ordinary happens, people from other countries would have an extreme reaction,” the Florida native began.

“I don’t know, a plane crash and people would be appalled. Give that news to a British person and they’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s quite unfortunate’. Very demure, very mindful.”

The content creator continued: “Their expressions are always very passive. What I came to find out after living here is that that is their extreme reaction.

“You will very rarely get an extreme reaction from an extreme event.”

Melissa concluded the viral TikTok video by explaining how there is one exception to this rule – football.

She said: “The only way you will get an extreme reaction from a British person is if their football team either wins or loses.”

Many have flocked to the comments section of the video, with many Brits explaining why they are less emotional when it comes to big events.

“We save up our real sock and emotional outrage for the important issues, like queue jumping or Freddo inflation,” one person commented.

For those unaware, a Freddo is a much-loved chocolate bar in the UK that has increased in price over the years.

Meanwhile, back in the comments section, another user weighed in: “We tend to approach devastating news stories with humour that others would probably deem inappropriate, too.”

While a third quipped: “We ain’t got time for emotions it gets in the way of making up jokes about the events lol.”

Selena Gomez fires back at actor after he criticizes her ‘indefensible’ Spanish in new film

Eugenio Derbez didn’t have anything good to say about the actress’ performance

Selena Gomez has addressed a fellow actor’s comments about her Emilia Perez performance.

Emilia Perez was arguably one of the most anticipated movies of the year and dropped on Netflix on November 13.

The Spanish-language movie boasts an all-star cast with Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana, and Édgar Ramírez all featuring.

Gomez has Mexican heritage and can speak Spanish – although not fluently.

She’s said to have grown up speaking the language but fell out of practice when she moved to California as a child.

With her not being fluent in Spanish, Gomez said that it ‘meant the world to [her]’ that the director of the film, Jacques Audiard, trusted her with the role.

“I had coaches and we communicated every day in Spanish,” she explained to extratv.

“My dad was so proud. He was like ‘you’re texting me mija’, and I’m like ‘yeah, I’m texting you in Spanish’.”

While Gomez evidently put in the work to improve her Spanish before starring in Emilia Perez, it wasn’t particularly well received by some – Koda actor Eugenio Derbez in particular.

Speaking on the Hablando de Cine podcast, the Mexican actor said of Gomez: “Selena is indefensible. I [watched the movie] with people, and every time she had a scene, we looked at each other to say to each other, ‘Wow, what is this?'”

Podcast host Gaby Meza went on to label the Only Murders in the Building star as a ‘very talentred actress’, but agreed that her Spanish wasn’t great.

“Spanish is not her main language, not her secondary or fifth language,” she said, as per Deadline.

“And that’s why I feel like she doesn’t know what she’s saying. If she doesn’t know what she’s saying, she can’t give her acting any nuance.”

In the wake of their remarks, Gomez has now responded.

Replying to a TikTok video of the interview, Gomez penned: “I understand where you are coming from..I’m sorry I did the best I could with the time I was given. Doesn’t take away from how much work and heart I put into this movie.”

And this isn’t the only issue people have had with Gomez’s acting in Emilia Perez; others said that the 32-year-old made a ‘crucial mistake’ in it.

Gomez seemed to have an Office-like moment in the film where she locked eyes with the camera, something some people suggested she wasn’t supposed to do and that she ‘broke the fourth wall’.

However, a different person defended her and said: “I am thinking this was intentional, because multiple characters do this throughout the movie.”
