Following the release of their film It Ends With Us last year, co-stars Lively and Baldoni have been embroiled in a legal battle with each other.

The Gossip Girl star initially filed a lawsuit on 21 December accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment on set and engaging in a ‘social manipulation’ campaign against her following the film’s release.

Now Baldoni has since fired back in a new $400 million (£320 million) lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicist, Leslie Sloane and her PR firm Vision PR.

This latest lawsuit follows a separate £205 million ($250 million) filing made by Baldoni against The New York Times, following an article published in regards to Lively’s original lawsuit.

The actor and director is accusing Lively’s camp of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage.

Lively’s team have since denied the claims, calling the response part of the ‘abuser playbook’.

Regarding the claim that Lively had attempted to take control of the film, Baldoni submitted a series of text messages between himself and the actor, which referred to her supposed interest in re-writing a key scene in the movie.

The scene in question involved the rooftop meeting between their characters Lily Bloom and Ryle Kincaid, with Lively keen to have a go at altering the script.

According to the suit, Lively asked to ‘take a pass’ at writing the scene – which Baldoni later claimed was ‘dramatically different’ to the initial version and promised her that the final result would be in the middle of the two.

The lawsuit then alleges the topic was later brought up while he was having dinner at Lively and Reynolds’ house, where the Deadpool star and an unnamed famous friend praised Lively’s edits.

Following the dinner, Baldoni allegedly text Lively the following on 14 April 2023: “Also was working on rooftop scene today, I really love what you did. It really hep [sic] a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor)” with a wink emoji.”

Lively then responded two days later with a series of lengthy messages thanking the director for his comments and adding that she wanted the film to do well.

“I have no motives except for you to win. As a director. As an actor. As a studio. As a writer. If you win, I win,” she wrote.

She then went on to refer to Reynolds and the redacted celebrity as her ‘most trusted partners’ before stating the pair wanted to make sure her contributions to the film were acknowledged.

“So I think they wanted you and me to see how they felt about the work because they’ve been by my side for far too many experiences where I’ve been overlooked,” she wrote.

“Both Ryan and [redacted] have established themselves as absolute titans as writers and storytellers outside of their primary gig — just signing or just acting or [redacted] just directing. I’m so lucky to have them as creative barometers. But also to have them as the people who prop me up and make sure I’m seen for all I can, and do, offer.”

She then went on to allegedly compare herself to GOT character Daenerys Targaryen and added that Reynolds and the redacted name were her ‘dragons’.

“If you ever get around to watching Games of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better,” she wrote.

“Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine,” she added with a laughing emoji. “You will too, I can promise you.”

Lively’s representatives has since responded to the allegations with a statement to InTouch, which reads: “The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

Taken in small recommended doses it’s a pretty effective painkiller but things took a turn for the worse after a man known as SB misread how many tablets he was meant to take for each dose.

His unfortunate story was recounted on YouTube and he was a runner whose healthy habit had some dire consequences for his body, as running is a high impact form of exercise and it can cause a person a bit of pain.

Medical experts reckon that even the keenest of runners should probably not do it every day in order to spare their bodies a bit of the damage done by pounding the pavement.

As for SB, the guy was feeling the strain of running and took some ibuprofen to stop his soreness from hurting so much but it wouldn’t be long before the cure led to more woe than the cause.

It would have been a decently sensible idea but unfortunately the man misunderstood how many tablets he was meant to take for each dosage and was taking far too many at once several times a day.

The first time he took the tablets he swallowed seven of them in one day and felt like his pain had gone, but the amount he consumed soon increased and before long he was getting through 28 painkillers a day.

Far exceeding the recommended dosage, which for the record is taking a dose of one or two 200mg tablets at most three times a day, the man started feeling the ill effects of taking so many painkillers.

He felt as though one dose of the painkillers had become ‘stuck in his chest’ and he then started feeling sharp chest pains, but instead of seeing a doctor he tried taking more painkillers to quash the agony.

The man started tasting blood, vomiting it up and seeing that his stool was unusually dark, with all three of those major warning signs that you ought to see a doctor.

When he had trouble urinating, struggled with dizziness and suffered from fatigue he finally went to the hospital where doctors noticed that he was very pale, his blood pressure would drop when he stood up and his heart rate was incredibly elevated.

Adding to the man’s woes doctors also diagnosed him with haematemesis, where someone is suspected to be bleeding internally and vomiting blood as a consequence of that.

Tests at the hospital revealed the true extent of the damage the man who took 1,176 ibuprofen tablets in a month had suffered, as he was suffering from bleeding ulcers in his stomach and oesophagus and his kidneys were failing.

The man was given emergency dialysis to save his kidneys and the internal bleeding was stopped.

Incredibly, the man made a full recovery.

Carla Acosta thought she was heading on a surprise romantic getaway to one of the most stunning destinations in Europe. But she was stopped from boarding her flight by airport staff due to the passport issue that she had no idea about.

She’s now looking to warn other people to make sure to check their travel documents before going to the airport so as to not encounter a similar issue and lose out, both emotionally and financially.

29-year-old Carla was gifted the trip to the Italian capital city of Rome by her boyfriend to celebrate another year of being with her partner.

But the London-based fashion designer was left with her head in her hands and being consoled by her boyfriend after falling foul of an EU passport rule by just four days.

“My boyfriend surprised me with a six-day trip to Rome to celebrate four years of us being together and at that moment I remember feeling super excited to go on the trip,” Carla said.

“As it was a surprise and I only had about 10 to 12 days to get everything in order.

“My biggest worry was getting my leaves approved at work and what I was going to wear for the trip. Checking my passport didn’t even cross my mind in all the excitement.”

Passport issue explained

The couple arrived at the airport for their early morning flight, checking in for the flight at the counter before heading in to the airport waiting areas.

But when approaching her boarding gate to get on the plane to Rome, Carla said the staff were shocked at how she had got that far with her passport saying what it said.

“My passport was set to expire on June 10th and I was flying on March 14th and didn’t have three months from that day to the expiration day,” she said.

“I had missed it by just four days. I was told I couldn’t board the flight because of the three month validity rule, and it made me feel horrible.”

Since Brexit, under EU law Brits must have a passport with an expiry date of at least three months after the planned day to leave Italy.

This counts for any country in the Schengen Area, which is Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

‘Go without me’

Carla said she had told her partner to fly without her as they had friends waiting for them to arrive but he refused.

“If you buy your own ticket and something like this happens you probably feel stupid and disappointed, but as it was a gift from my boyfriend, I felt extremely guilty that I had not checked my passport,” she said.

“I cried a lot and felt really bad for my boyfriend because it was a waste of his money, and we couldn’t go to Rome to celebrate our relationship.”

In total the couple lost £400 on flights and hotels, with Carla calling it a ‘huge let down’.

She said: “Now, I always check my passport and visas before planning each trip. I wasn’t aware of the three month rule to go to EU countries, and I wish I had been more careful. My advice to other travellers would be to always be extra cautious and check your travel documents before planning your trips so this doesn’t happen to you.”

Post Office data indicates that January is a peak time for passport renewals. In 2024, the January to March period saw a 69 percent increase in passport renewals at Post Office branches compared to the rest of the year.

There are numerous red flags and warnings that have been highlighted by health experts to those that may be looking to take up vaping, though here’s another if you’re still on the fence.

A dentist has previously explained the damage that can be caused by vaping, resulting in something called ‘vaper’s tongue’, that can change the way your mouth works.

What is vaper’s tongue?

Though many view vaping as a less harmful alternative to smoking cigarettes, the habit comes with its own caveats.

There’s a reason that the UK is banning the sale of cigarettes to future generations, and limiting the marketing of vapes, after all.

As the long-term effects of vaping are yet to be seen, many see it as a safe alternative, but it turns out that ‘vaper’s tongue’ is a known side effect of the habit.

It can be described as the temporary loss or reduction of the ability to taste flavours while vaping.

Your smoking history, dehydration, overexposure to some flavours or becoming desensitised to flavours can also play a part.

What long-term side effects does it have?

Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz, the chief editor of Dental Economics, and Tom Viola, RPh, CCP, a board-certified pharmacist with over 30 years of experience, spoke in a YouTube video on the Dental Economics channel about the dangers of vaping.

Viola revealed that it’s about ‘scalding the tissue’ on our tongues, as vape pens generate temperatures around 120°C-150°C.

“You’re inhaling that vape, that vape mist or aerosol, [and it] doesn’t have enough time to cool off between the end of the vape pen and your mucosa, so you end up scalding, or burning, or somehow injuring your tongue,” he explained.

The medical professional added: “The temperature still is pretty high when it gets to the back of your tongue where a lot of your taste buds are located, and so the association there is ‘I don’t taste anything anymore.'”

He warned that it would stop you from tasting anything nice again, or that it would make some things ‘taste awful’.

Viola added that as well as irritating tissue, vaping can also lead to xerostomia, a condition which ‘doesn’t allow you to spread saliva [and] food particles around your tastebuds so you can taste your food’.

Are the effects of vaper’s tongue permanent?

Viola said: “I think a lot of people realise that if they were to stop vaping for a certain period, they would find their xerostomia would clear up and their taste does return.

‘But you know, vaping itself is addictive and it’s really hard to stop vaping once it’s become part of your lifestyle.”

How much do we know about vaper’s tongue?

Although a growing number of medical professionals are speaking out about vaper’s tongue, there’s not been much scientific research to really understand it.

Benjamin Chaffee, a Professor at the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, told Healthline: “There’s not currently reliable evidence to indicate how common the condition is or the mechanisms causing it.

“This is another example of the many things we do not know about how vaping affects the body. It’s a reason for more research and a reason to approach these products with caution.”

Back in 1996, the ‘70 pound’ baby was apparently the talk of the town when his parents put him on the famous chat show.

And even though the programme aired way before social media became a thing, the clip has gone pretty viral in recent years.

But little do today’s viewers know that Zach, now 29, suffers from a rare genetic condition called Simpson-Golabi-Behmel Syndrome (SGBS).

The condition made him grow an inch and gain 2.5lb every couple of weeks, and at just 17 months old, he weighed a reported 70lbs.

With the recent release of Netflix documentary Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera Action, people are getting an insight into just how crazy the TV show was.

Growing up in Port Jervis, New York, Zach said he ‘felt like a circus act’ after appearing on other shows like Oprah and Inside Edition.

“They presented me as different, which only separated me further from everyone else,” he told The Mirror. “I was known as the kid that was on TV.

“Nowadays, people ask me what it was like. They assume my mom was chasing fame or money, but that wasn’t the case.” he continued to say. “We just wanted help with geneticists, which wasn’t easy to come by with our insurance.”

Zach said his family wanted to raise awareness on what it was like to live with SGBS, adding: “We didn’t really get a lot of take-home pay after all the affairs were done. It was strictly to make sure that her kid was okay.”

Speaking about the documentary, Zach admitted: “It’s just a spin on what’s already out there. It didn’t reveal anything new. It’s the same content, just packaged with bells and whistles.”

Zach, who previously weighed 485lbs, is now focusing on his physical health and fitness.

Jerry Springer hosted The Jerry Springer Show for 27 years, between 1991 and 2018.

The TV presenter passed away at his home in Chicago in 2023.
