TikTok star shares heartbreaking final post one day before her death: ‘I don’t want to go’

TikToker Deborah Finck has died aged 57 following a five-year battle with a rare cancer.

Finck had been diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, and her death was announced by her daughter Katerina on Tuesday.

She shared the news with Finck’s followers on Instagram and TikTok, sharing a gallery of photos of the two of them together, writing: “To my mommy, my best friend, my sunshine – thank you for everything you’ve done for me.

“You were the most beautiful mother and the best mommy anyone could ever ask for. You taught me strength, courage, bravery, and what it means to truly love and never give up. You believed in me, stood by me, and showed me the meaning of unconditional love.

“You will always be remembered, never replaced. You were the sunshine of my life, and every time I see a sunflower, I will know you are here with me.”

She added: “Thank you to everyone who loved my mommy and showed her kindness. Your support means the world to us,” encouraging fans to donate to Ronald McDonald House, which offers accommodation and support to sick children and their families, in lieu of sending flowers.

Finck had been a mother of six, having had three sets of twins, and her daughter had been sharing her mother’s cancer journey online since 2020.

Prior to her sad death, Finck had shared her final video on Monday, January 13, responding to a fan’s post about how her story had helped him cope with severe depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.

She told the camera: “It meant a lot to me that you shared that. I sit here and I think, ‘Why me? … What have I done in this world to make a difference?’ And maybe this was my purpose.”

Finck continued: “You have a lot to live for. You have a lot of people still out there for you, and I don’t want to go anywhere either. I really don’t.”

In her final few weeks, Finck made videos to say goodbye to her children as well as her husband, Paul.

She previously revealed a sweet tradition the pair had always done throughout their decades-long marriage, explaining: “My husband always tucks me in bed at night.

“Even before I got sick, it was a thing where he stayed up late nights working, and he would always tuck me in bed and kiss me. But I was just brushing my teeth, and he was hugging me while I was brushing my teeth, and he said to me, ‘I just want to hug you forever.'”

She admitted that she “lost it” after hearing him say those words, adding: “Pauly, I love you so much. I want to keep those hugs forever, and I’m not giving up. I just want you to know, thank you for everything. Thank you for a wonderful life.”

Paul also shared his heartbreak at Finck’s death, writing: “Deborah was my partner in every sense of the word – my confidant, my rock, the love of my life, and my eternal soul mate.

“Together, we built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories I will cherish forever.

“Deborah, my love, you were my everything, and losing you is a pain I cannot put into words. But I will carry you with me in every step I take, every decision I make, and every moment I live.

“Rest now, my love. Your battle is over, and you are free. Until we meet again, you will always be in my heart.”

Our thoughts remain with Finck’s family, friends, and followers at this devastating time.

Blake Lively has issued a response after Justin Baldoni sued her and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million.

Baldoni, along with his publicists, alleges that Lively fabricated sexual harassment claims to damage his career and seize control of the movie It Ends With Us.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, accuses Lively and Reynolds of leveraging their combined star power to discredit Baldoni, who co-starred in and directed the film, per the Daily Mail.

This latest legal filing is part of a growing dispute that began in December when Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment on set – allegations he has adamantly denied.

Responding to the lawsuit, Lively’s attorneys issued a scathing statement, calling it “another chapter in the abuser playbook.”

“This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation, and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO: Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim and Offender,” the statement said.

The attorneys accused Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, of using its resources to retaliate through “meritless lawsuits” and media manipulation.

They further alleged that Sony had specifically asked Lively to oversee the film’s final cut, which later achieved commercial success.

“Their response to sexual harassment allegations: she wanted it, it’s her fault,” the statement continued. “The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

In Baldoni’s lawsuit, he alleges that Lively disrupted production and alienated him from the cast. According to the filing, Baldoni and his family were relegated to a makeshift basement holding area during the film’s premiere at Lively’s request.

Security reportedly confined the group to a room stocked with concession stand supplies, with only foldout tables and chairs for seating.

Baldoni also claims Lively initially resisted reading the book the film is based on and acted insensitively during the promotional campaign, even naming a cocktail after the abusive male lead.

The suit alleges that Lively refused to meet with a domestic violence charity Baldoni had partnered with and mishandled the film’s serious themes in favor of promoting her own brand.

The lawsuit also highlights contentious moments on set, including an incident where Lively allegedly referred to her Hollywood connections as “my dragons” during a dispute over script changes. Baldoni claims he felt threatened and pressured to comply with her demands.

The tension reportedly extended to disagreements about the film’s tone, with Lively favoring a more upbeat portrayal while Baldoni sought to focus on the story’s darker themes of domestic abuse.

Despite the public feud and mixed critical reviews, It Ends With Us became a box-office success. However, the ongoing legal battles have overshadowed the film’s release, with both sides doubling down on their narratives.

Brits given Netflix warning as watching one show could cost you £1,000

Netflix is expanding its offerings – but it could cost you dearly

Brits tuning in to Netflix have been warned they could face a fine of up to £1,000, plus court costs for breaking a vital rule when it comes to watching the service.

The unequivocal number one streaming service in the world, Netflix is loved by millions around the planet.

And given it has more subscribers than any other similar service – with tens of millions more than the likes of Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video – Netflix is constantly looking to try and cement its number one position for the short and long term.

One recent way it has done this is through a huge multi-billion dollar deal with the WWE. But for those watching, it comes with a warning.

Netflix and WWE

Starting earlier this month, Netflix and the WWE teamed up in a deal worth a whopping $5 billion (£4 billion).

As part of the mega contract, Netflix received the entire WWE archive to watch on demand. So if you fancy some old school Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock, or Jeff Hardy deciding to Swanton Bomb off of the top of a steel cage, you’re in luck.

On top of that, it saw the live Monday Night Raw shows move to Netflix across the world, with it’s debut seeing the likes of Macaulay Culkin make a guest appearance on our screens.

And for viewers outside of the USA, NXT and Friday Night Smackdown are also being broadcast live on the streaming service as they happen.

The cherry on top of the cake has to be the premium live events (PLEs). Once upon a time called pay-per-views (PPVs), they are the premium shows such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.

They are also part of the deal with all the above content available to Netflix subscribers as part of their normal subscription costs.

£1,000 warning

For UK viewers who want to watch any of the live events as they happen, you could be falling foul of the law. It’s because of something called the TV Licence.

In the country, it is a legal requirement if you want to watch live content as it is broadcast. And that’s on any service, from television to YouTube and, yes, Netflix.

Daniel McAfee, Head of Legal Operations at Lawhive, said: “Under UK law, any live television broadcast requires a valid TV licence, regardless of the streaming platform.”

McAfee warned Brits to ‘stay informed on licensing changes as streaming platforms expand live broadcast offerings’.

On prosecuting people who break TV Licensing laws, a service spokesperson said: “We have a duty to enforce the law when there is evidence that someone has avoided paying for a TV Licence.”

Punishment for not paying your TV license could change in the UK

In late 2024, Government ministers said they were looking at decriminalising non-payment of a TV Licence by people who watch live content.

Lisa Nandy, the culture secretary, and Shabana Mahmood, the justice secretary, both concurred that prosecutions were ‘disproportionately’ targeting women.

“The administrative burden of policing non-payment of the licence fee should not be falling on the taxpayer. It should be carved out. It’s not worth the hassle it creates,” a government source told The Times.

Nothing more has been said on the issue, but it is one that many will want to watch closely given non-payment is the second most common crime to be convicted of in the UK.

Daughter whose dad started dating her 'ex-boyfriend' revealed 'cringey' aspect of their unconventional family life

It was believed that Saffron Drewitt-Barlow’s ‘ex-boyfriend’ was in a relationship with her dad

Saffron Drewitt-Barlow has opened up about why people think her ‘ex-boyfriend’ is in a relationship with her dad, and when it gets particularly ‘cringey’.

The 25-year-old’s father Barrie, 54, has five children with his ex-husband and business partner, Tony.

Believed to be Britain’s first gay dads, they had twins Saffron and Aspen through surrogacy in 1999.

After the pair broke up, Barrie was introduced to Scott Hutchison, who was 23 years his junior, believed to Saffron’s ex boyfriend.

However, following some backlash, she confirmed that she never dated Scott and that they were only ever ‘best friends’.

Despite the admission, she revealed that she still finds it ‘cringey’ when her friend talks about his sexual relationship with her dad.

“Scott talks about their relationship all the time. One time he was telling me they had sex in the car, and I had to say, ‘OK, I don’t really want to know about your sex life with my daddy’,” Saffron told The Sun in 2021.

“If he was telling me about someone else I’d be fine, but it was so cringey and just not something I want to hear.”

Manchester-born Barrie lives with all of his family in their £6 million, ten-bedroom mansion in Florida.

“Our rooms are on completely different sides of the house. I wouldn’t want to be in the room next door to them listening to them all night – no thanks. That’s a step too far,” Saffron added.

“Seeing them kissing doesn’t bother me, though. I actually like it as it makes me happy knowing they are happy together.

“Plus, they don’t care, they do it anywhere and in front of anyone. You can walk into the kitchen and there they are, having a snog.

“Don’t get me wrong, I see it sometimes and it makes me want to throw up, but I wouldn’t just stand in the kitchen and watch. I walk away.”

The pair now share two young children together; Valentina and Romeo.

On her relationship with Scott, Saffron added: “I wasn’t with Scott for long at all, and really we were never in a sexual relationship.

“We are best friends and have been since I was little.

“He didn’t want anybody to know he was gay. He asked me to help him by being in a relationship with him and I said, ‘Of course’.

“They had feelings for each other when we were together. Scott confided in me. He told me he liked my dad. Then my dad kind of told me, too.

“The only reason I felt at all sad was because of Dad [Tony]. It was hard for him to see Daddy [Barrie] with someone else. But they are OK with each other now.

“My daddy and Scott have one side of the house and Dad has the other, but we eat dinner together every night.”

Molly-Mae reveals breaking point with Tommy Fury as boxer admits his 'alcohol addiction' ended their relationship

Tommy Fury made the admission prior to Molly-Mae’s new documentary-series releasing

Molly-Mae has revealed the breaking point in her and Tommy Fury’s relationship ahead of their shock split.

Back in August, the former Love Island star made the shock admission that she had separated from the boxer via Instagram, telling her followers: “I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.”

Months of speculation about what had caused the pair to separate followed, with the 25-year-old boxer revealing his drinking habits were the cause of their relationship breakdown in a recent interview.

“The reason me and Molly broke up [is] because I got addicted to alcohol,” he said in the interview with MensHealth.

“I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn’t.”

Molly-Mae has now also opened up on the boxer’s alcohol problem in her new documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All, revealing how attending her older sister’s wedding became a breaking point for her.

The first three episodes of the six-part documentary are available to watch on PrimeVideo today (17 January) with the remaining episodes scheduled to air in the springtime.

“He’s never had an alcohol problem, it’s just that alcohol causes problem for us,” she explained.

“It got to the point that I wasn’t really looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much.”

Reflecting on sister Zoe’s Lake District nuptials, Molly-Mae explained that she’d ‘begged’ Tommy not to drink at the event.

“At my sister’s wedding, I literally pleaded with Tommy, like I begged him to not drink, and it’s just, I don’t know, it’s just so sad,” she said to the camera, before breaking down in tears.

“It affected me. That’s why my relationship with alcohol is really damaged. When you reflect on it, it’s really hard.”

The influencer also sat down to discuss Tommy’s drinking with her mother Debbie in the documentary series, admitting that she couldn’t think of a time where her then-partner’s drinking habits hadn’t ended in something ‘disastrous’.

“I could only cite a couple of examples where he had some alcohol and it’s not led to anything disastrous,” Debbie told her daughter, to which Molly-Mae replied: “I mean, I actually don’t know any. I really don’t.”

Molly-Mae and Tommy first locked eyes on each other during the 2019 series of ITV’s Love Island. They’d go on to finish in second place and remained a couple for five years, going on to get engaged and welcoming daughter Bambi together.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Molly-Mae also shut down the online claims that Tommy cheating was the reason they separated.

“People genuinely believe everything they read,” she said, adding: “I was getting messages from people quite close to me about, ‘Oh, we’re really sorry to hear he’s gotten somebody pregnant’, ‘I’m really sorry to hear he’s been with this person’.

“And I was just like, where is this coming from?”

How to Get Rid of Blackheads

Blackhead Treatment
If you get blackheads — a type of acne that happens when dead skin cells and oil clog your pores — you have plenty of methods to treat them. There are also ways to prevent new ones from forming.

But remember: Picking, squeezing, and popping blackheads aren’t among your options. That approach could make your situation a lot worse. Try some of these treatments instead.

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid is a popular over-the-counter ingredient in many skin cleansers. It breaks down dead skin cells and extra oil before they can clog your pores.

When you go to the pharmacy, check the ingredient labels carefully. You’ll find products with salicylic acid that range in strength from 0.5% to 5%. The acid can be harsh on some people’s skin. You might want to put it on every other day, rather than daily, to see how your skin reacts.

As for other acne-fighting ingredients, blackheads don’t contain bacteria, so benzoyl peroxide — a powerful antibacterial against most other forms of acne — may or may not help.

Retinoid creams and lotionsRetinoid creams and lotions, which are made from vitamin A, can unclog your pores. They also help your body make new skin cells.

You can buy some retinoids over the counter in drugstores, but you’ll need a prescription for most. Because retinoids make your skin more sensitive to UV rays, you should use these creams and lotions before bed and out of the sun.

Extraction

“Extraction” might sound scary, but many health professionals know how to remove unsightly blackheads with specialized tools.

You can find home extraction kits in stores. But most medical experts repeat that classic advice: “Don’t try this at home.” A DIY procedure can cause scarring, even if you think you know what you’re doing.

Chemical peels

A chemical peel is usually for people who want to improve the appearance of sun damage and minor scars, but it may help with certain types of acne. The procedure can unclog pores and start up new skin growth.

You get a chemical peel in your doctor’s office. It removes cells from the top layer of your skin.

Common ingredients in chemical peel products are salicylic, glycolic, and retinoic acids. Because the process uses acid, it can cause redness, crusting, scarring, infection, and skin discoloration.Skin brush

A skin brush can help get rid of the built-up debris that contributes to acne. It can also slow the signs of aging. You should always rehydrate your skin after using a skin brush.

There are many different skin brushes available to buy. Your dermatologist can tell you if using one may be right for you. They can also tell you what kind to use and how to use them correctly. If you don’t use them the way you should, it can make acne worse.

Noncomedogenic products

Most noncomedogenic products don’t contain any oil and don’t block your pores. That lowers your risk of getting blackheads.

You should be able to find cleansers, moisturizers, and makeup that are non-comedogenic.

To prevent blackheads, try tips such as:

  • Wash your face when you get up, before bed, and after you sweat.
  • Put non-abrasive cleaners on your skin gently, using your fingertips. Scrubbing with washcloths or sponges can irritate the skin.
  • Use alcohol-free skin products.
  • Avoid the sun since some acne medicines can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
  • Shampoo oily hair regularly.
  • Limit how many times you touch your face.
  • Change pillowcases often.

Also, some studies suggest certain foods can worsen acne. A few of the suspects are skim milk, chocolate, and carbohydrate-rich foods like bread and chips.

Certain treatments won’t work for blackheads. You should avoid oil-based and alcohol-based cleaners.

If you have oily skin, products that have these ingredients can irritate your skin.

If you have normal skin, moisturizers that contain some light oil should be fine. If you have dry skin, oil-based moisturizers may help.

How to Get Rid of Blackheads on the Nose, According to Dermatologists

Key Takeaways
  • Blackheads are one of the most common forms of blemishes associated with acne that can occur on the face, nose, neck, back, and chest.
  • Many things can cause blackheads to form, including increased oil production, hormones, and the presence of bacteria on the skin.
  • To get rid of blackheads on the nose, experts recommend washing your face twice daily, using non-comedogenic skin care products, and avoiding squeezing blackheads.

Many of us have dealt with some form of acne at one point or another. After all, it is one of the most common skin conditions in the United States, affecting nearly 50 million Americans each year.1

In particular, blackheads also known as open comedones can be one of the most frustrating types of blemishes associated with acne because no matter how much scrubbing, cleansing, and exfoliating you may do, they don’t seem to go away.

According to Kellie Reed, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at Westlake Dermatology in Austin, Texas, blackheads can occur when pores on the face become clogged with oil, debris, or dead skin cells.

Genetics, hormonal factors, bacteria on the skin, and diet are other things that can cause blackheads to form as well, Reed told Verywell.

Blackheads can affect the face, neck, back, and chest, however, they most commonly occur on the nose due to the number of pores, hair follicles, and oil production in that area as well as the natural size of the pores, Anna Chien, MD, associate professor of dermatology and vice chair for Quality, Safety & Service at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, told Verywell in an email.

In some cases, blackheads can be deeply rooted into the pores, making it difficult to remove and often requiring the assistance of prescription grade products and/or a professional to extract them, Reed said.

Even though these pesky blemishes can be a pain to get rid of, there are some remedies you can try to treat them. Here’s how, according to dermatologists.

How to Get Rid of Blackheads on the Nose

Instead of picking or trying to squeeze your blackheads out, experts say there are home remedies, over-the-counter medications, and professional treatments that may help remove blackheads safely and naturally.

Home Remedies

  • Green tea is a great antioxidant that can help reduce oil production in your skin.2 Mix green tea leaves with water and massage the leaves into your skin for about 30 seconds. Rinse off and apply a moisturizer afterward.
  • Tea tree oil is another natural way to stop the growth of bacteria and can be found in many products, including soaps and creams.3 Apply tea tree oil directly to affected blackheads to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Salt/sugar scrubs can help exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. After massaging the scrub on your face, wash it off with water and apply a moisturizer.
  • Baking soda just like salt and sugar scrubs can help exfoliate the skin and remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. Mix baking soda with water and massage it into any affected areas. Rinse off with warm water and use a moisturizer when done.

Over-The-Counter Treatments and Medications

  • Azelaic acid can be found in topical creams and works by killing bacteria on your skin. This over-the-counter treatment can also reduce inflammation and keep the pores clean.
  • Salicylic acid is an ingredient found in many cleansers, lotions, and creams. When it’s applied to the skin, it helps shed dead cells which can prevent pores and follicles from clogging.
  • Benzoyl peroxide is another ingredient found in many over-the-counter products that work by lowering the amount of acne-causing bacteria on the skin.
  • Topical retinoids can help prevent blackheads by decreasing oil production in oil glands and helping clear out clogged pores.

Professional Treatments

  • Chemical peels contain certain acids like salicylic acid and beta hydroxy acid (BHA)s that help unclog pores and remove blackheads from the surface of the skin.
  • Prescription-strength treatments are prescribed by a healthcare provider that works similarly to over-the-counter topical treatments like retinoids, however, they are stronger.
  • Oral acne medications that are prescribed by a healthcare professional can help reduce bacteria that may cause blackheads.
  • Professional facials and removals or microdermabrasion treatments can remove dead cells and sebum that cause blackheads. A trained professional like an esthetician can extract blackheads safely during a facial treatment.

While certain methods and treatments like topical retinoids and other over-the-counter products can reduce oil production and help remove blackheads, using too much of any product can lead to dryness of the skin, redness, irritation, inflammation, or flakiness, Lindsey Bordone, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology of Columbia University Medical Center, told Verywell in an email.

Methods and Treatments to Avoid

If you are trying to get rid of blackheads, especially on the nose, one of the biggest things you should avoid doing is squeezing them out of the skin or popping them, Chien said. While it can be tempting to squeeze them out yourself, you should leave it to the professionals to extract them, if needed.

“Excessive manipulation (squeezing, popping, etc,) should be avoided as it can lead to more inflammation and increase the risk for discoloration and scarring,” Chien added. “Excessive scrubbing and exfoliating should also be avoided.”

In addition, people should consider avoiding the use of pore strips because these products may cause more irritation than good, Reed said. “They often target surface debris and do little to resolve the deeper blackheads.”

How To Prevent Blackheads

Despite hormonal changes, genetics, and diet, Reed and Chien said there are some things you can do to prevent blackheads from forming. Here are some things that may help:

  • Wash your face daily at least two times a day with a gentle or mild facial cleanser to remove oil, dirt, and other debris.
  • Exfoliate two or three times a week to help remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
  • Use an oil-free moisturizer and sunscreen regularly to keep the skin hydrated without having to deal with excess oil production that can cause clogged pores.
  • Swap out your products for non-comedogenic ones to avoid clogging the pores which can lead to the production of more blackheads.
  • Remove makeup at the end of each day to avoid irritation from makeup products and to reduce the risk of clogged pores from oil, dirt, and dead skin buildup.
  • Avoid touching or picking your face to prevent the spread of oil and bacteria from your hands.
  • Rinse your face after any sweating to prevent dead skin cells and bacteria from getting into your pores.

When to See a Dermatologist

If you are following specific measures like washing your face daily and using certain over-the-counter medications, but they are not helping and you are not noticing any changes in your condition, it could be time to see a dermatologist for evaluation, Bordone said.

You should also schedule an appointment with a dermatologist if your condition is progressing and worsening, or if you are experiencing other symptoms such as increased inflammation, discoloration, or scarring of the skin, Chien said.

A professional can help manage your blackheads, provide other treatment options, such as prescription strength topicals, and in some cases, help remove them.

What This Means For You

Several methods and treatments can help get rid of blackheads. Experts recommend using over-the-counter treatments and medications like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and maintaining a good and gentle skin care routine. If you don’t see an improvement or your blackheads worsen, it may be time to see a dermatologist.

Can Elon Musk Become the Boss of T... in America?

Elon Musk is no stranger to ambitious ventures and game-changing innovations. As the CEO of companies like TeslaSpaceX, and Neuralink, Musk has continuously disrupted multiple industries and changed the way we think about technology, transportation, and even space exploration. However, one question that has been circulating recently is: Can Elon Musk become the boss of T… in America? This question has sparked the curiosity of investors, business enthusiasts, and tech fans alike, as Musk’s growing influence in various sectors suggests that the future could hold unexpected developments for him.

Can Elon Musk Become the Boss of T... in America?

In this article, we’ll dive deep into the idea of Elon Musk taking over T…, exploring what such a move could mean, what challenges he might face, and whether his diverse entrepreneurial background gives him the right tools to succeed in this new role.

What Could “T…” Mean in America?

Before we delve into whether Musk could become the boss of T…, it’s important to define what “T…” refers to. The most likely interpretation is Twitter—one of the most influential social media platforms globally. Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in 2022, the tech mogul has made waves with changes to the platform, including alterations to its business model, content moderation, and user policies. His vision for Twitter has been anything but traditional, raising questions about his potential long-term goals for the company and his ability to take it to new heights.

Can Elon Musk Become the Boss of T... in America?

While Elon Musk’s leadership at Twitter has seen a mix of controversies, restructuring, and new initiatives, his approach is marked by innovation and bold decisions. As a result, many wonder if Musk’s broader business acumen and innovative thinking could position him to become the ultimate authority at Twitter—or in an even larger sense, could he become the “boss” of social media in America?

Elon Musk’s Track Record of Success

To understand whether Musk could truly lead Twitter or any other significant business in America, it’s essential to consider his track record. Musk’s achievements speak volumes about his ability to turn seemingly impossible ideas into reality. Through Tesla, he revolutionized the electric vehicle industry and pushed sustainable energy to the forefront of the automotive market. Through SpaceX, he has made space exploration more commercially viable and is working toward interplanetary travel.

In addition, Neuralink and The Boring Company have demonstrated his ability to push the boundaries of technology and infrastructure. Musk’s ventures have not only made him one of the richest individuals globally but also an influential figure in several industries. His reputation for innovation, risk-taking, and defying conventional business strategies makes him a potential contender for even bigger leadership roles in America’s tech landscape.

Challenges Musk Might Face in Leading Twitter

While Elon Musk has a proven record of success, becoming the boss of Twitter comes with its own set of challenges. The platform, which has 330 million monthly active users and has faced numerous issues with content moderation, privacy concerns, and misinformation, requires a strategic leader capable of balancing user engagement with social responsibility.

One of the main challenges Musk faces is navigating public perception. Since his acquisition of Twitter, Musk has been at the center of controversy. His decisions to lay off staff, alter content moderation policies, and introduce new subscription models have been met with criticism. A company as influential as Twitter requires a leader who can unify users, advertisers, and regulatory bodies while pushing the platform forward.

Another challenge is dealing with the financial aspects of running such a massive platform. Twitter’s business model has been in flux for years, and Musk’s attempts to make the platform profitable have been met with mixed results. Twitter’s reliance on advertising revenue and the challenges in diversifying income streams could continue to present obstacles for Musk, as he needs to find a sustainable way to generate revenue while keeping the platform user-friendly.

What Could Happen if Musk Becomes the Boss of T… in America?

If Elon Musk were to become the boss of T… or take a leadership position with Twitter, there are several things that could change in the tech landscape. Musk’s history of turning companies around and taking them to the next level could result in major shifts in how social media operates in the future.

Innovation and Technology: Musk’s penchant for technological innovation could lead to Twitter introducing new features, better security protocols, or even adopting blockchain technology to combat issues like misinformation or fraud.

Business Model Revisions: Musk’s potential to lead Twitter could bring about a total overhaul of how the platform monetizes its services. We could see new subscription models, premium content options, or alternative revenue streams that might help make Twitter more financially stable.

Shifting Industry Standards: With Musk’s leadership, Twitter could set new standards for how social media platforms handle content moderation, privacy issues, and user engagement. His willingness to make bold decisions might prompt other tech companies to follow suit, creating a ripple effect across the industry.

Global Influence: Musk’s reach extends far beyond America. If he successfully takes the reins at Twitter, it could enhance his influence over global discourse. As social media platforms become increasingly central to political and societal conversations, Musk’s leadership could further position him as a major figure shaping the future of the internet.

Could Musk’s Vision Work?

Elon Musk’s vision for Twitter and potential future leadership in the social media landscape is an intriguing one. His entrepreneurial mindset, passion for technology, and history of disrupting industries could help him succeed in navigating the challenges Twitter faces. However, the platform’s size, complexity, and influence on global communication mean that even someone as accomplished as Musk will face hurdles along the way.

Can Elon Musk Become the Boss of T... in America?

While Elon Musk becoming the boss of Twitter could bring about radical changes, it will ultimately depend on whether he can maintain the balance between innovation, user satisfaction, and financial stability. Whether his leadership will propel Twitter into a new era or cause further turbulence remains to be seen.

The idea of Elon Musk becoming the boss of T… in America raises numerous questions about his potential to reshape the social media landscape. With his track record of success and relentless drive for innovation, Musk certainly has the qualities needed to take on such a challenge. However, the road ahead is filled with obstacles, from public perception to the complexities of monetizing a platform like Twitter. Only time will tell if Musk can truly transform Twitter into the dominant force in the social media industry, or if his vision will evolve into something even bigger.

Child actors who have revealed how much money they make in residuals from Titanic star to kid who drew d*cks in Superbad

These screen stars might be all grown up now, but they’re still reaping the rewards from their childhood roles

Hats off to the parents who negotiated these terms in their kids’ movie contracts, as their offspring are still reaping the benefits today.

A string of young stars are continuing to cash in on their childhood movie roles thanks to the everlasting popularity of the films they starred in.

And that, my friends, is why you want to get cast in a flick which showbiz bosses are banking on becoming a cult classic – as it could reward you for years and years to come.

As well as the agreed-upon fee they receive for their acting efforts, stars can earn a few extra quid long after the movie they are starring in first dropped.

Performers can receive residual payments to compensate them for reruns and airings after the project’s initial release, such as every time it’s broadcast on telly or when someone buys the DVD.

Other actors might have sorted out royalty payments instead, which is a recurring payment that they receive in exchange for their continued permission to their property or copyrighted works.

Although they seem quite similar on the surface, residuals are union-mandated, according to City National Bank, whereas royalties are ‘a separate agreement between production companies and those they employ’.

So, now we’ve got all of that stuff out of the way, shall we see what child actors are still earning money off their pre-teen performances?

Titanic – Reece Thompson

Move over Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, as the award for the cutest character in Titanic easily goes to Reece Thompson.

He was just five years old when he played the little Irish lad who’s onboard the doomed ship as a third-class passenger in James Cameron’s 1997 film.

These days, Thompson is reportedly working as a digital marketing director in the US state of Utah – but he still receives royalty cheques for his minor role in the Oscar-winning movie.

He told Business Insider back in 2018: “It’s weird because it’s not present in my mind anymore. It’s not like, ‘Oh, when am I going to get a new Titanic check?’

“When it happens, it’s like, ‘Oh, cool, an extra $100’. There have been a couple of times where it’s been like: ‘Oh, wow, that’s a $250 check’.

“But hopefully, they keep playing it a lot because that means more money for me.”

Superbad – Casey Margolis

Remember that little kid obsessed with drawing d*cks who played a young Jonah Hill in Superbad? Well, he’s doing super good thanks to the ongoing residual payments he receives.

Casey Margolis had an interesting role in the 2007 comedy which involved him compulsively doodling penises in the classroom – and he’s earned a pretty penny from it.

Although it might be a bit of a strange fame to claim, the actor is more than happy to discuss how playing the genital-obsessed kid at the age of 11 has paid off for him.

In a TikTok video shared in 2023, he revealed that he was paid $700 a day (£570) for his gig as Jonah’s younger self, but he is still continuing to pocket a hefty amount of cash 18 years after the film was released.

“Total here is $255.39 (£208) and the actual gross was $400.62 (£327),” Margolis said. God bless tax!”

A few months later, he revealed he had got a residual check with a gross total of $573.35 (£468) for Free TV, Internet Rental/ SVOD, Video/DVD and Pay TV. The take home from that was $365.51 (£298).

So it’s safe to say Superbad is still rewarding him handsomely after all these years – with Margolis explaining he typically receives a residual cheque around every three months, which can ‘vary from 3 cents to 100 bucks’.

The biggest residual check the actor has ever received from his role in Superbad amounted to $10,033.34 (£8,197) – of which the actor took home $6,757.47 (£5,521).

Lion King – Jason Weaver

You might not recognise this guy’s name or face, but you’d certainly recognise Jason Weaver’s vocals.

He’s the man behind Simba’s solos in The Lion King and he was just 13 years old when he recorded hit tracks for the 1994 Disney movie, such as ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’.

Thankfully, his mother Marilyn ‘Kitty’ Haywood was on hand to help him broker a bumper deal for all of his hard work – even though it involved turning down a $2 million payday.

Speaking to Vlad TV back in 2019, Weaver explained: “Immediately my mum goes, ‘Wait a minute, OK, if they’re willing to do that… that’s it, that’s all he’ll ever get, for the remainder of his life?

“They were like, ‘That’s it, he takes the money, that’s it,’ and she was like, ‘No, let’s negotiate royalties’.”

That’s exactly what they did – and this gamble paid off big time, as The Lion King went on to become one of the highest-grossing animated movies of all time.

Weaver was paid $100,000 (£81,688) upfront for his part in the film and continues to receive huge cheques from his childhood job to this day.

These royalties will have easily dwarfed the measly $2 million he was initially offered all those years ago – and although he wouldn’t reveal how much he’d raked in from them so far, the true figure must be staggering.

The interview was recorded a year before Tupac’s death in 1996

A prison interview with Tupac recorded a year before his killing revealed the rapper’s plans for the future.

The rapper – full name Tupac Shakur – was gunned down after watching a boxing match in Las Vegas, succumbing to his injuries six days later on 13 September 1996. He was just 25 years old.

Nearly 30 years on from the killing and Shakur’s death remains a point of fascination in popular culture, with conspiracy theorists even going as far as claiming he survived the shooting and is still alive somewhere. Tupac if you’re reading this feel free to get in touch.

Before his untimely death it appeared Shakur had been thinking a lot about what he’d like the rest of his life to look like – with a recently resurfaced clip from his prison interview revealing the rapper’s heartbreaking final wish.

Originally published as part of a news report in 1996, a previously unreleased track was accompanied by the rapper talking about his future while incarcerated at Clinton Correctional Facility in September 1995.

“Prison gave me so much knowledge and put me on such a right track that I would like to do a whole tour of prisons,” he explained in the clip.

Shakur was arrested and imprisoned for eight months on sexual abuse charges, however he was later released pending an appeal of his conviction.

The entire interview is hard to find in full online, however clips regularly do the rounds online, with another segment posted to TikTok seeing the rapper comparing his ‘Thug Life’ persona to a type of secondary school which people ‘graduate’ from.

“Thug life is like the twelfth grade,” he explained. “Some people graduate from high school and don’t seek to do anything else, so they continually live the thug life.

“You can live your whole life with a high school diploma but you’re always going to be missing something.”

Shakur then went on to explain that while the concept of ‘Thug Life’ would always be with him he also wanted to ‘graduate’ and move forward with his life.

“I wanted to move up. I wanted to do something different, to expand and grow,” he explained. He also touched on being shot five times outside of Quad Studios in New York City in November 1994, telling the interviewer: “I already took five bullets and if I can help it, I don’t plan on taking no more.”

Following his release from prison eight months into his sentence Shakur signed to Suge Knight’s Death Row Records. Knight would be with Shakur in Las Vegas on 7 September when he was fatally shot at by an unknown assailant.
