Golden Globes viewers are flooding to social media in stitches over Seth Rogen’s comment about an ‘inelegant’ part of the awards ceremony.

The 82nd Golden Globes Awards ceremony took place last night (January 5) at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

And who should take to the stage to present one of the awards but Schitt’s Creek star Catherine O’Hara and Superbad legend Seth Rogen.

Rogan and O’Hara took to the stage to present the Golden Globe award for best female actor in a limited series, anthology series made for TV or movie – ending up going to Jodie Foster for her role in True Detective: Night Country.

Also nominated in the category were Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Kate Winslet (The Regime), Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs the Swans) and Sofía Vergara (Griselda).

And as Rogen and O’Hara climbed the stage to announce the winner, the pair could first be seen in a wide angle camera shot positioned behind them before the shot changed to in front of them, focusing on their faces.

After reaching the microphone, Rogen wasted no time in jumping right in to say: “Hello. I wanna start by saying this whole angled camera thing is very weird. It’s inelegant, it’s strange.

He continued: “This whole half of the room can see my bald spot; I would’ve filled that in. I said no, and I regret that now completely.”

It was a tough life for Molly. Her main concern was her son, Tommy. The constant changing of schools and towns wasn’t good for him. He started bullying other kids and starting fights. She never imagined that one call to the principal’s office would restore a part of her life she thought was lost.

Nigel’s frustration was evident in the way he poked at his food, barely taking a bite. His brow was furrowed, and his mouth was set in a tight line.

Finally, he muttered under his breath, “This is overcooked,” pushing his plate away with a look of disdain.

Molly felt her heart sink at his words. She had tried her best with the meal, but it seemed nothing she did ever pleased Nigel anymore. His next words cut even deeper.

RuPaul’s Drag Race star The Vivienne has passed away at the age of 32 and fans are flocking to their last Instagram post from three days ago to pay their respects.

James Lee Williams won the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as The Vivienne – adopting the name after becoming known for wearing designer Vivienne Westwood clothing.

On Sunday evening (January 5), their publicist announced the tragic news of their passing.

In a post to Instagram, publicist Simon Jones wrote: “It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams – The Vivienne, has passed this weekend.

“We please ask that James’s family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.”

Stevie Wonder, one of the most influential musicians globally, lost his sight as a newborn due to medical negligence. Despite this, he remains content with how his life has unfolded.

Born Stevland Hardaway Morris on May 13, 1950, Wonder once shared a revealing interview that he was not born blind. He explained that his blindness resulted from a medical error shortly after his premature birth. When asked if he had perceived any light, Wonder responded, “I may have.”

He was born with a condition called retrolental fibroplasia, which resulted due to exposure to excessive oxygen. This was common for premature babies in the ’50s before doctors discovered an alternative. “That’s how I became blind,” said Wonder.

In a separate interview from 2004, the record producer revealed that another child who was born one minute before him lost her life because she couldn’t withstand the oxygen she was given while inside an incubator.

When asked if he felt indifferent about the doctor being responsible for his condition, Wonder responded that he did not. He then recounted a visit to Saginaw, Michigan, where he returned to the hospital where he was born.

Asked if he remembers seeing colors at all, the “Happy Birthday” singer said, “When someone mentions a color, I associate it with my understanding of what that color is. I may have been able to see for a short time after I was born.”

At just five years old, Wonder said he reassured his mother not to worry about his blindness, expressing that he was happy despite his condition. He shared these words with her because she was deeply emotional about his situation.

“It bothered me that my mother was crying all the time,” Wonder admitted, adding, “She thought God might be punishing her for something.” Stevie Wonder reflected on his mother’s life, noting that she lived during a time when circumstances were especially challenging for a woman like her.

When asked about the most important lessons his mother had passed on to him, the “Isn’t She Lovely” hitmaker shared that she taught him “to persevere. To never be ashamed. To not let my past bury me.”

Stevie Wonder recalled that as a child, other kids used to make fun of him because of his blindness. However, instead of being discouraged, he became more curious, thinking, “How can I climb this tree and get an apple for this girl?” That was what mattered to him.

Back in 2000, there were reports that Wonder was considering getting a chip that could potentially restore his sight. He confirmed that the chip was real and mentioned that he had met with the doctor who discovered it.

The Grammy Award winner explained that the chip would enable one to perceive images through impulses and that eligibility required testing.

He further noted that he had some potential eligibility and thought it was a great development. When asked if the chip was still in the works, the multi-instrumentalist affirmed it was.

Since he’s never had visual eyesight before, Wonder was asked if he could miss seeing, and he said, “I miss what’s associated with seeing.”

Wonder admitted that he would be lying if he said he didn’t miss the ability to drive somewhere alone with his wife and kids or, in the past, with his girlfriend. However, he acknowledged there is nothing he can do about it and that he just has to find a way to work through it.

Indeed, his condition didn’t hinder him from pursuing a musical career, which he embarked on at a very young age. At just 11, Wonder’s life changed when Ronnie White of the Miracles discovered his talent.

After hearing about the young boy from a mutual connection, White was so impressed by his music that he introduced him to Hitsville USA, a local black recording company.

At 13, Wonder solidified his place in music history with the hit single “Fingertips,” which sold 16 million copies. This success boosted his career and helped establish his recording label, Hitsville.

Later, Hitsville rebranded as Motown, a name that became almost interchangeable with Little Stevie Wonder for many years. In a February 1972 interview, Wonder was asked if he could determine how much his blindness had influenced his music. “It’s played a part,” he responded.

Wonder explained that his blindness allowed him to use his imagination to explore different places and write lyrics inspired by what he had heard others talk about. He mentioned that, through music and his blindness, he could connect what people said with his inner feelings and thoughts.

Although the beloved musician often wears glasses when performing, there have been times when he has taken them off while on stage. One of these occasions includes his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony back in 1989.

Wonder politely requested that everyone stop, then removed his glasses. He also invited the audience to close their eyes, offering them a glimpse into his experience of hearing the diverse voices of people from all walks of life.

Wonder expressed that through listening, one can perceive the beauty in hope, pain, and sorrow. He conveyed that within these experiences, the divine presence within each person is revealed, allowing the voice, instrument, and spirit to be recognized as truly beautiful.

Another instance of Wonder removing his glasses occurred in March 2010. During the 25th Victoires de la Musique, the annual French music awards ceremony, he humorously remarked that he was taking a “look at” his career achievement award as he removed his glasses.

Footage captures fighter aircraft ‘activating its cloaking device’ and people have a lot to say about it

Footage of a fighter jet seemingly ‘activating its cloaking device’ looks like something straight out of an action movie – but it’s actually entirely real.

Step aside, Top Gun, there’s a new – or old, depending on how you look at it – fighter jet that’s got our attention, and it comes in the form of the F-22 Raptor – known in full as the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.

Footage shared online by photographer and videographer Mark Fingar shows the moment an F-22 nears to breaking the sound barrier, at which point it is enveloped in what people have described as its ‘cloaking device’.

The F-22 was once arguably one of the most advanced fighter jets ever created when it was developed for the United States Air Force.

It first took flight in 1997 in Georgia, US after six years of development, but in 2021 a former Air Force chief of staff expressed belief the F-22 would be fully retired by the end of the decade.

However, the agency has since decided to upgrade the jets, likely giving them a life into the 2030s.

The jets can hit speeds of 1,500 mph – 2.2 times the speed of sound – and burn around 5,000 pounds of fuel every hour. However, despite what it might look like, the jet doesn’t come equipped with a ‘cloaking device’.

Instead, the plane creates what’s known as a vapor cone in the moments before it breaks the sound barrier, and some people have – fairly accurately – compared this online to a ‘cloaking device’.

In Fingar’s video, one of the planes can be seen being engulfed by a vapor cone, making it difficult to see to the naked eye.

The clip left social-media users floored when it was shared online, with one person posting the video on Twitter and writing: “Mark Fingar captured an F-22 Raptor activating its cloaking device.”

Meanwhile, someone else compared it to something out of a Harry Potter movie.

“It’s how they play peekaboo in the clouds,” joked another.

Vapor cones occur because of condensed water that can sometimes form around an object moving at high speed through moist air.

When localized air pressure around an object like an F-22 Raptor drops, so does the temperature. Then, if the temperature drops below saturation temperature (the temperature for a corresponding saturation pressure at which a liquid boils into its vapor phase), a cloud will form.

The change in temperature can also cause a shockwave.

Rod Irvine, the chairman of the Royal Aeronautical Society’s aerodynamics group, explained to the BBC: “If you see a vapor cone, you’ve got a shockwave, because you’ve got a change in pressure and temperature.”

Irvine added: “The aircraft isn’t necessarily travelling faster than the speed of sound, but the air travelling over the wing is accelerated and locally breaks the sound barrier.”

The science is interesting, but the main thing is that it just looks cool.

“The best thing is that my wife loves Drew so much that she, like, encourages me… There’s no jealousy at all. She’s just like, ‘Get in there,” Adam said. Drew confirmed this, adding, “If you’re not being romantic enough, she will, like, berate you behind camera [sic].”

Adam humorously recalled a moment during filming in Africa with Drew when Jackie urged him to put more effort into a romantic scene, saying, “Just, please, for the sake of women, get in there and just look a little more alive.”

Amidst this admiration, the proud dad shared his thoughts about what lay ahead for his daughters. “My wife and I go to sleep talking about the girls. They have so much ahead, and I feel nervous for them, excited for them. As a parent, you just want to make sure your kids are OK when it’s time for them to take off,” shared Adam in an interview.

Tonight’s win marked the 62-year-old’s first Golden Globe achievement

Demi Moore gave a moving speech after winning her first ever Golden Globe.

The actress has been in the film industry for over 40 years, and is best known for her films like G.I. Jane, Ghost, A Few Good Men, and Indecent Proposal.

This year’s Golden Globe nomination marked Moore’s fourth, having previously been nominated for best actress in Ghost and If These Walls Could Talk, as well as If These Walls Could Talk being nominated for best miniseries.

But these nominations didn’t land Moore the Golden Globe win she’d hope for, and she had to wait almost 30 years for another chance at bagging the prestigious accolade.

The wait was worth it though, and this evening (January 5), Moore won best actress in a comedy or musical for The Substance.

Following her well-deserved win, the 62-year-old gave a moving speech.

“I really wasn’t expecting that,” Moore began.

“I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this a long time, like, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. And I am just so humbled and so grateful.”

She continued: “30 years ago I had a producer tell me that I was a popcorn actress, and at that time I made that mean that this is not something I was allowed to have. That I could do movies that were successful and made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that.

“That corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I had done what I was supposed to do.

“And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absently bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance. And the universe told me, you are not done.”

After listing several people in her thank yous, Moore went on to conclude: “I will just leave you with one thing that I think this movie is imparting. In those moments when we don’t think we are smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough, I had a woman say to me, just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.

“So today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness end of the love that is driving me, and the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much.”

People took to Twitter to share their congratulations and happiness for Moore.

One said: “IM SO HAPPY FOR DEMI MOORE IM CRYING!!!!!!”

“After this speech… give Demi Moore all the awards,” echoed another.
