The Simpsons ‘predictions’ which could come true in 2025 are absolutely terrifying

The Simpsons has ‘predicted’ a fair few events over the years but could any come true? And for 2025?

Move over Baba Vanga and Nostradamus, because with a new year comes new predictions and The Simpsons has a few which people are particularly concerned about.

Granted, the sitcom may’ve missed the mark slightly when it came to the 2024 US elections, but hey, we’re all human and make mistakes sometimes, right?

And in other cases, The Simpsons has certainly been eerily accurate in predicting the future – from Raygun’s viral Olympics breakdancing moment to an unlikely music collaboration – but what are some ‘predictions’ the iconic series has made which could supposedly come true now we’ve entered a new year?

World War Three

HubPages points out three specific predictions made by the show which have the possibility – however slim or large – of coming true in the future or potentially even as soon as 2025.

First up? WW3. Given the current state of the world, this one isn’t actually too shocking a prediction and neither is it too wild to suggest for 2025.

There’s been a few references made to the third World War since The Simpsons first aired.

In a 1987 short starring Homer Simpson, the donut-loving character is convinced it’s actually already started and convinces the rest of the family to take to the garden and build a homemade shelter.

Season six episode 19 titled ‘Lisa’s Wedding’ sees Lisa’s fiancè, Hugh Parkfield, Homer and Bart and visit Moe’s Tavern.

Noting Hugh is British, Moe tells him that they ‘saved their a** in WW2’, to which Hugh responds: “Well, we saved your a**e in WW3.” And Moe replies: “That’s true.”

Whether or not it happens this year, many years in the future or at all – hey, we have to hope don’t we – who knows, but The Simpsons hath spoken.

But The Simpsons said it so it must be true, right? (Disney)

A global apocalypse

In 2005, season 16 episode 19 ‘Thank God, It’s Doomsday’ aired which sees Homer, Lisa and Bart go to the cinema and see a movie about the rapture – the belief Christ will return and gather believers up to Heaven amidst an apocalypse.

Homer then starts freaking out about the rapture being imminent and the ‘end’ being ‘near’.

Nothing actually happens and Homer and his family are fine, but just because they are doesn’t mean we all are too – they are made up characters in an animated sitcom after all.

Is 'Doomsday' nearing? (Disney)

Is ‘Doomsday’ nearing? (Disney)

Zombie apocalypse

Now, granted, this may seem a bit out there and certainly more extreme of The Simpsons predictions to even consider coming true in 2025.

However, given scientists revived a ‘zombie virus’ which had been frozen in permafrost for thousands of years in 2023, hey, it’s not exactly like global health pandemics haven’t happened before.

Within spin-off anthology series Treehouse of Horror, episode four ‘Treehouse of Horror XX’ sees the self-contained story ‘Don’t Have a Cow, Mankind’.

Krusty the Clown’s Burger 2.0 prompts a zombie outbreak and the fate of Springfield ends up in the hands of Bart.

Bart ends up leading to the vaccination of the rest of the population, saving the world from being taken over by flesh eating monsters.

And it’s not taken long for social media users to weigh in on the ‘predictions’.

Terrifying (Disney)

Terrifying (Disney)

One Twitter user argued the zombie apocalypse was predicted by the show in 2024 – so, I guess we’re safe then?

“As 2024 ends and 2025 begins, so does Season 16 as we’re on the final 3 episodes where Homer thinks the world will end, Ned leaves Springfield and Bart goes to a Catholic school with Thank God, It’s Doomsday, Home Away from Homer and The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star,” a second argued.

Although, another simply reassured: “Guys don’t worry, there’s a ton of Simpson predictions that haven’t happen.”

Whether they could come true or not, who knows, let’s just hope 2025 doesn’t follow in the same thread as some of the ones we’ve just survived eh?

As many as 20,000 people die from eating the delicacy every year, yet some people have vowed to continue to do so

Warning: This article contains discussion of cancer which some readers may find distressing.

If you were warned that a meal might kill you, you’d probably avoid it, wouldn’t you?

Well, apparently, not everyone would as a doctor in Thailand explained that he frequently tells his patients to not eat one dish in particular and a lot of them have a bizarre response to their doc’s instructions.

Doctor Narong Khuntikeo is fighting against the delicacy, known as koi pla, after he tragically lost both of his parents to liver cancer after they ate it – while a report also suggests that around 20,000 people in the Southeast Asian country also suffer a similar fate.

The dish is particularly popular in one of the nation’s poorest provinces, Isaan, who have have the highest reported number of cases.

Millions of Thai people consume it on a regular basis and you’d imagine it’s the type of fish that is the issue, well, it’s partly the issue but only in one part of the country.

Locals are reportedly sourcing the fish from a water location in the Mekong region, which contains parasitic flatworms – or live flukes – which are consumed by the fish.

These flatworms contain bile duct cancer and that’s why Isaan has the highest reported instance of cholangiocarcinoma.

“It’s a very big health burden around here,” the liver surgeon Khuntikeo told Agence France-Presse.

“But nobody knows about this because they die quietly, like leaves falling from a tree.”

He has joined up with a team of doctors, anthropologists and scientists, who have spent four years testing villagers from the Isaan region for the parasite.

But it is while he’s been trying to spread information warning people not to dine on the dish in the area, Khuntikeo has said he’s faced issues with the older generation.

Incredibly, when speaking to the elderly, some of them give him a bizarre reason why they weren’t going to stop eating the dish.

“They’ll say: ‘Oh well, there are many ways to die,'” the health professional said.

“But I cannot accept this answer.”

Through using ultrasound machines and urine testing kits, the doctor found that as much as 80 per cent of inhabitants from some communities were found to have ingested the deadly parasite.

He has worked alongside local health officials to introduce a school curriculum geared at teaching children about the risks of raw foods.

But there are people who will continue to eat it, including one farmer from the Khon Kaen province, Boonliang Konghakot, does not have an issue with it, and said: “I used to come here and just catch the fish in the pond…it’s so easy to eat raw.”

While Thanin Wongseeda, another villager who was being screened as part of Khuntikeo’s initiative, revealed: “I’ve never been checked before, so I think I will probably have it because I’ve been eating (koi pla) since I was little.”

How could you do this to us, Gi-hun?

Like it or lump it, the second season of the jam-packed South Korean series, Squid Game, has got everyone talking.

When the first season of the dystopian thriller show came out in 2021, which sees contestants compete in a series of ‘survival games’ to be in with a chance of winning a life-changing sum of money, Netflix viewers went wild.

Squid Game received critical acclaim and worldwide attention.

It scored 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and raced to the top of Netflix’s most-watched series.

So, when the hotly-anticipated second season blessed our screens in December, social media was flooded with devoted fan theories who binge-watched the entire thing in a matter of days.

Yet, despite the introduction of some tense new murder games and an abundance of bloody scenes, some fans branded it ‘boring’ on Twitter and said the show just wasn’t ‘hitting the same’ for them.

Meanwhile, others have found deeper theories to the plot, so take this as your warning for spoilers if you’ve somehow not caught up yet.

The Front Man comes to the games as Player 001 (Netflix)

The Front Man comes to the games as Player 001 (Netflix)

The second season follows the protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, three years after he won the first Squid Game.

Seong has returned to the arena to face off against new participants, allegedly on a mission to put a stop to the games.

In true Squid Game style, we encounter one of the show’s many twists when the Front Man, the leader of the Masked Men and the older brother of police detective, Hwang Jun-ho, joins the game as Player 001.

The old man, Player 001, was a major plot twist in the first series (Netflix)

The old man, Player 001, was a major plot twist in the first series (Netflix)

This clearly isn’t coincidental as Oh Il-nam, the elderly financial tycoon and creator of the games, disguised himself amongst the players with the same number in season one.

Now, fans speculate the old man and the Front Man are father and son and there’s some compelling evidence behind the idea.

The first is that they have similar names. When telling his story to Gi-hun, the Front Man says he was called Young-il, not too dissimilar from Il-nam.

The theory is the Front Man is related to the old man (Netflix)

The theory is the Front Man is related to the old man (Netflix)

Secondly, the Front Man’s brother was seen talking to his mom about the death of his father – and we know old Il-nam died in the first series.

Also in the first series, Gi-hun revealed he ‘can’t drink regular milk’, prompting Il-nam to remark: ‘You’re just like my son’.

And lo and behold, the Front Man acting as Player 001 revealed he can’t drink milk when he offered his drink to the pregnant player.

However, another theory is also doing the rounds which seems to put the heat on our Gi-hun, Player 456.

In one scene, Gi-hun points up to the floors above, explaining to the other participants that’s where the Squid Game ‘masters’ are.

As 10 of the players all look up, fans point out Player 001 didn’t – he was staring at Gi-hun instead.

Taking to Facebook, a fan wrote: “Does this mean Player 456 is the actual mastermind behind this all? Was he 001’s accomplice all along?

“We, the audience, were the ones played!”

Yet, others quipped the Masked Man was giving Gi-hun ‘the look of love’ or, by stark contrast, a ‘death stare’, in the moment and dismissed the theory.

“Why would he look up? He knows what’s up there,” another fan wrote.

In another apparent theory, a fan also said: “Don’t think he is yet, but pretty sure by the end of season three, Player 456 will become in charge and take the legacy forward of squid games.”

Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long to find out as the third season has been confirmed for later this year.

Prize-winning cartoonist Ann Telnaes has quit The Washington Post in the name of ‘free press’

Editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes has quit The Washington Post after nearly 15 years of working there.

Pulitzer prize winning cartoonist for The Washington Post, Ann Telnaes, has spoken out about her decision to leave the daily newspaper after having a cartoon depicting Jeff Bezos, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Open AI’s Sam Altman, The Los Angeles Times Patrick Soon-Shiong and Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse ‘killed’ by an editor.

Typical feedback to cartoons

In a post to Substack, Telnaes explains ever since working for The Post, she’s ‘never’ had a cartoon ‘killed’.

Granted, she’s had ‘editorial feedback and productive conversations – and some differences – about cartoons’ she’s submitted, but none that have been banned from going out completely because of ‘who or what’ she chooses ‘to aim [her] pen at’ – ‘until now’.

But what could’ve been so bad about a cartoon of Jeff Bezos?

Ann Telnaes has quit her job at The Washington Post (Michael S. Williamson/The Washington Post via Getty Images)

The cartoon

Well, Telnaes continues: “The cartoon that was killed criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump.

“There have been multiple articles recently about these men with lucrative government contracts and an interest in eliminating regulations making their way to Mar-a-lago.

“The group in the cartoon included Mark Zuckerberg/Facebook & Meta founder and CEO, Sam Altman/AI CEO, Patrick Soon-Shiong/LA Times publisher, the Walt Disney Company/ABC News, and Jeff Bezos/Washington Post owner.”

The cartoon shows the billionaires bent down on their knees before a statue of Trump, holding up bags of money, Mickey mouse completely slumped on the floor.

But why was it ‘killed’ and others not?

Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist at The Washington Post, says her cartoon below was killed by Jeff Bezos, the paper’s owner. Bezos didn’t want the cartoon to become public because it shows him kneeling before Donald Trump. You know what to do.

Telnaes’ objection

Telnaes explains sometimes ‘visual metaphors within a cartoon’ are objected to, given tweaks or suggested changes if they come across ‘unclear’ to the editor what ‘message’ they are intending to give out. However, the cartoonist argues ‘such editorial criticism was not the case regarding this cartoon’.

She continues: “[It’s] never [been] because of the point of view inherent in the cartoon’s commentary. That’s a game changer…and dangerous for a free press.”

While Telnaes acknowledges it could be argued a company has ‘the right to expect employees to adhere to what’s good for the company’, she notes when it comes to ‘news organizations that have public obligations and who are obliged to nurture a free press in a democracy,’ it’s different.

She continues: “Owners of such press organizations are responsible for safeguarding that free press – and trying to get in the good graces of an autocrat-in-waiting will only result in undermining that free press.

“As an editorial cartoonist, my job is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable. For the first time, my editor prevented me from doing that critical job.”

Telnaes reveals she has subsequently decided to leave the Post.

As a member of the Advisory board for the Geneva based Freedom Cartoonists Foundation and a former board member of Cartoonists Rights, Telnaes believes ‘editorial cartoonists are vital for civic debate and have an essential role in journalism.’ Some of her overseas colleagues having risked ‘their livelihoods and sometimes even their lives to expose injustices and hold their countries’ leaders accountable’.

The cartoonist resolves: “I doubt my decision will cause much of a stir and that it will be dismissed because I’m just a cartoonist. But I will not stop holding truth to power through my cartooning, because as they say, ‘Democracy dies in darkness.'”

David Shipley, The Post’s opinions editor, said in a statement as quoted by The New York Times that he ‘disagree[s]’ with Telnaes’ ‘interpretation of events’.

He continued: “Not every editorial judgment is a reflection of a malign force. My decision was guided by the fact that we had just published a column on the same topic as the cartoon and had already scheduled another column – this one a satire – for publication. The only bias was against repetition.”

I Found Abandoned Twin Girls in the Forest and Took Them Home – Next Morning, I Was Shocked by What They Did to My Daughter

The morning after I brought home two abandoned twins I’d found in the woods, I heard strange noises coming from my daughter’s room. My heart nearly stopped when I rushed in, and what I saw almost left me in tears.

I’ve always believed in showing kindness to others, even complete strangers. But after what happened with those twins, I realized sometimes the kindest acts can bring unexpected miracles into your life.

Let me start from the beginning.

I’m a single mom to my amazing daughter Emma. Being her mom is the greatest joy of my life, and I’ve always tried to give her everything she needs. I tried even harder after her father left us five years ago.

That’s when I discovered he’d been having an affair with a woman from his office. The divorce shattered me, but I knew I had to keep it together for Emma’s sake.

Those first few months were the hardest.

Emma was only five, too young to understand why her world had suddenly changed. Every evening, she’d stand by our living room window and wait for her father to return.

“When’s Daddy coming home?” she’d ask, her big brown eyes full of hope.

I’d gather her in my arms, trying to find the right words. “Sweetheart, sometimes grown-ups need to live in different houses.”

“But why, Mommy? Did I do something wrong?”

“No, baby, never.” I’d hold her tighter, fighting back tears. “This has nothing to do with you. Daddy and Mommy just can’t live together anymore, but we both love you very much.”

That last part wasn’t entirely true.

Her father made it crystal clear he wanted nothing to do with us. He didn’t fight for custody or even ask for visitation rights. Sometimes I think watching him walk away from our beautiful daughter like she meant nothing was worse than the affair.

But life has a way of forcing you to be strong. I picked up the pieces, worked extra shifts at work, and focused on giving Emma the best life I could.

We settled into a comfortable routine. Just Emma, me, and our lovable Labrador, Max.

Time flew as I watched my daughter grow from that confused five-year-old into a remarkably wise and intelligent ten-year-old. She has this way of looking at the world that sometimes takes my breath away.

Everything was finally falling into place. We had learned to live without the presence of a man in our lives, and we didn’t need anyone else to make us feel happy.

Then came the diagnosis a year ago. Cancer.

That word fell like a bomb in the doctor’s office, and I felt my world crumbling all over again. My baby girl, who’d already been through so much, now had to fight the biggest battle of her life.

Each chemotherapy session chipped away at her energy, her appetite, and her beautiful spirit. But somehow, she stayed stronger than me through it all.

A few months ago, after a particularly rough day at the hospital, Emma caught me crying in the hallway.

“Mom,” she said, reaching for my hand. “Everything’s going to be okay. I promise.”

I stared at her in amazement. “How did you get so brave?”

She gave me a weak smile. “I learned from you.”

Those words nearly broke me.

I was supposed to be the strong one here. Instead, my little girl was comforting me.

Since then, I’ve done everything I can to keep her comfortable and happy, though those moments of happiness became increasingly rare as the treatments continued.

That’s where I was in life when everything changed.

It was a freezing December evening, and I was taking Max for a walk after my shift at work. The woods near my house were silent except for the crunch of snow underfoot.

Just as I was about to turn back, Max froze, and his ears pricked. Then, out of nowhere, he darted into the bushes.

“Max! Come back!” I shouted, chasing after him. As I pushed aside the branches, my gaze landed on something that made me freeze.

Sitting on a fallen log were two little girls, huddled together, and wearing only thin sweaters and jeans despite the bitter cold.

They looked identical with wide, frightened eyes and long dark hair dusted with snowflakes.

“Hey there,” I said cautiously, keeping my voice soft. “Are you okay? Are you lost?”

One of them shook her head.

“No, we aren’t lost,” she murmured. “We live nearby… in a shed.”

I knew the shed they were talking about. It was an abandoned, crumbling structure at the edge of the woods.

“Where are your parents?” I asked, stepping closer while trying not to frighten them.

The other girl replied, “Mama left us there… a long time ago.”

I stood there as my heart pounded against my chest. I wanted to help the little girls.

“What are your names?” I asked gently.

“I’m Willow,” said the first twin.

“And I’m Isabelle,” added her sister, gripping Willow’s hand tighter.

“How old are you both?”

“Nine,” they answered in unison.

Max whined softly, nudging one of the girls’ hands with his nose. They smiled and patted his head.

I couldn’t leave them out here. The temperature was dropping fast, and the forecast warned of an incoming storm.

Social services wouldn’t be open until morning anyway, I thought. I think I should take them home.

“Come with me,” I said gently. “I’ll get you warm, and we’ll figure this out tomorrow.”

They exchanged a look, having one of those silent conversations I’d heard twins sometimes share. Finally, they nodded and stood up.

Back home, I heated up some chicken noodle soup and wrapped them in warm blankets. They sat at my kitchen table, spooning the soup carefully into their mouths.

I set up the guest room with fresh sheets and extra blankets as I thought about what to do in the morning. Emma was asleep, and I decided to wait until tomorrow to explain everything to her. I didn’t know how she’d react upon seeing them.

The twins barely spoke as I showed them to their room, but I caught them whispering to each other as I was about to leave.

“Goodnight girls,” I said and closed the door behind me.

That night, I lay awake for hours, listening to the wind howl outside. I knew I should call social services first thing in the morning, but something about these girls tugged at my heart.

Little did I know, the next day would bring a surprise that would change everything.

The next morning, I woke up to strange noises coming from Emma’s room. I listened closely and heard soft thuds and muffled giggles.

What’s going on? I wondered. Is it… is it the twins?

Panic shot through me as I thought about what Emma must have felt upon seeing them. What if they scared her? Or worse?

I bolted down the hall and flung the door open.

“What are you doing?! Don’t touch her!” I shouted.

The twins looked at me with eyes wide open. They were standing beside Emma’s bed, draped in makeshift costumes. They had tied my silk scarves as capes around their shoulders and one of them was holding a cardboard wand covered in aluminum foil.

But what made me stop in my tracks was Emma.

My daughter, who hadn’t smiled or laughed in months, was sitting up in bed, her eyes sparkling with delight.

“Mom, look!” Emma giggled, pointing at the twins. “They’re doing a magic show for me! Willow’s the good witch, and Isabelle’s the fairy princess!”

I wanted to cry at that point.

You see, I’d watched cancer drain the energy from my baby girl for almost a year. The treatments had taken her strength, and she barely spoke on most days. I’d started to forget what her laugh sounded like.

“Mom, they made me a crown too!” Emma held up a paper crown decorated with crayon-drawn jewels. “They say I’m the queen of the magical forest!”

“That’s… that’s wonderful sweetheart,” I managed to say. “I—”

“We’re sorry for entering her room without your permission,” Willow said. “We heard her coughing this morning and just wanted to check if she was okay.”

“She looked so sad,” Isabelle added softly. “Everyone needs magic when they’re sick. That’s what we used to tell each other in the shed.”

Tears filled my eyes as I watched Emma clap and laugh at their silly dance moves.

For months, I’d tried everything to lift her spirits, but nothing had worked. I was so stunned at how these two little girls, who had so little themselves, had somehow given my daughter back her joy.

“Can they stay and finish the show, Mom?” Emma asked, her cheeks flushed with excitement. “Please? They promised to teach me how to make magic too!”

I wiped my eyes and nodded, my voice cracking as I said, “Of course they can, sweetheart.”

Over the next few days, something magical happened in our home. The twins spent every moment they could with Emma, telling her stories, playing games, and planning elaborate shows.

On Christmas Eve, they performed their grandest show yet. Emma sat propped up in her special chair, wearing a blanket like a royal robe, completely enchanted by their performance.

I watched from the doorway, and my heart was about to burst with joy.

That night, after the girls were asleep, I made a decision.

These twins had brought light back into our darkest days. They gave Emma the simple joy of being a child again, even amid her illness.

So, I decided to let them stay. I decided to adopt them.

The process wasn’t easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

Today, our family of two plus a dog has grown to include two more daughters. Sometimes I think about that cold December night and marvel at how close I came to walking past that fallen log.

But Max knew. Somehow, he knew those girls belonged with us.

25,000-year-old ‘pyramid’ with ‘hidden chambers’ was unlikely to be made by humans

The Gunung Padang site in Indonesia has caused disagreements between researchers

Archaeologists have suggested that a pyramid-like structure suggested to be more than 25,000 years old may not have been built by humans.

Grab your tin-foil hats and settle in, because we’re about to theorize!

The various pyramids in the world have sparked a lot of conspiracies over the years, mostly because it’s just hard to picture how such huge, impressive and intricate structures were built without today’s technology.

Aliens is one of the most common explanation for the impressive feat, but before you get too carried away, that’s not what we’re talking about here.

Instead, archaeologists have offered up a different explanation for the Gunung Padang archaeological site in Indonesia, where one study claimed to have found evidence of human activity at the site dating back thousands of years before the next oldest pyramid.
Gunung Padang was claimed to be one of the world's oldest pyramids (Garry Lotulung/Anadolu via Getty Images)

The study even suggested there are ‘hidden cavities or chambers’ located within the structure; a discovery which naturally lends itself to questions about secrecy and covert behavior.

Authors of the study wrote: “Radiocarbon dating of organic soils from the structures uncovered multiple construction stages dating back thousands of years BCE, with the initial phase dating to the Palaeolithic era.

“This study strongly suggests that Gunung Padang is not a natural hill but a pyramid-like construction.”

However, archeologists responding to the study have argued that the ‘pyramid’ was likely not one built by humans – or aliens – because it wasn’t ‘built’ by anybody.

They claimed that while the study of Gunung Padang used ‘legitimate data’, its conclusions that very ancient humans had worked on the site were unjustified.

Archaeologists have dismissed the claims (Garry Lotulung/NurPhoto via Getty Images)

Flint Dibble, an archeologist at Cardiff University in Wales, told Nature that it is likely that the structure formed naturally, unless extraordinary evidence is found suggesting otherwise.

“Material rolling down a hill is going to, on average, orient itself,” he said.

Archeologists also pointed out that there is no evidence of charcoal or bone fragments in the soil; two of common signs of human activity in archaeological sites.

Lutfi Yondri, an archeologist at BRIN in Bandung in Indonesia, told Nature that while his work showed that there was human habitation in the area between 12,000 and 6,000 years ago, none of his findings suggested the inhabitants had the ‘remarkable masonry capabilities’ which they would have needed to construct the ‘pyramid’.

So there you have it; the unusual structure isn’t really a structure at all, but just the work of Mother Nature.

A grieving mother who visits her son’s grave almost every day is startled when she discovers baby toys there and learns a shocking truth about her son’s life.

“A MUSICIAN? Have you lost your mind, Leonard?” Kenneth snapped when his son declared his desire to pursue a career in music.

Leonard was 18 years old, fresh out of high school, and eager to follow his passion. However, his parents wanted him to become a lawyer, which Leonard didn’t want to be.

He’d taken a gap year after high school because he didn’t want to rush into career decisions, and he discovered that music was something he really wanted to pursue. However, when he declared his desire to become a musician, his parents were anything but impressed.

“But what’s wrong with becoming a musician, dad?” Leonard grumbled. “There are so many people who followed their passion and are very successful now. I want to be one of them! I don’t want to do a boring desk job!”

“Look, son,” his father continued. “I have made my decision quite clear, and I don’t want to repeat myself. You’re going to become a successful lawyer just like your grandfather and me. Is that clear?”

“There’s no way, Dad!” Leonard shot back. “You cannot force me to do something I don’t want to do! I want to pursue my passion, music, and that’s what I’ll do!”

“But honey,” his mother intervened. “Your father is not pressuring you. He just doesn’t want you to waste your time over something that’s not even certain. You see, so many people have big dreams, but only a handful achieves them. He’s just worried about you and doesn’t want you to suffer.”

“Oh really, mom?” Leonard snapped. “If he really cares about me, he should support me!”

“Calm down, Leonard. Don’t forget you are talking to your parents!” his father warned him. “If you want to make your own decisions, why don’t you pay for your university? If you stay with us, you have to listen to us and obey us. Otherwise, get lost!”

“Fine, dad!” Leonard said. “I’ll prove to you guys one day how wrong you are. I don’t want to be your obligation anyway. I’ll make money as well as a name for myself!” Leonard said and walked away to his room.

Leonard’s mother, Lily, advised him to calm down and talk things out sometime later, but he was furious. He packed his bags that evening and walked out of the house, vowing never to return.

Lily kept requesting him not to do that. She even tried convincing Kenneth to stop their son, but the man was so adamant about his decisions that he didn’t budge at all. At the same time, even Leonard didn’t care. He was hell-bent on proving his parents wrong, so he left the house that evening, severing all ties with them.

Three years passed without any contact between Leonard and his parents. Lily was frequently concerned about her son, so she tried calling him a few times, but all of her calls went to voicemail, and Leonard never returned them.

However, while Lily was preparing breakfast one morning, her phone rang. She quickly wiped her hands and dashed to answer it, but what she heard on the other end of the line made her feel disoriented.

It was a phone call informing her that Leonard, her son, had died. The young boy was involved in a motorcycle accident and died before reaching the hospital.

Lily burst into tears, unable to accept the death of her beloved son. “No way! That can’t happen! Nothing has happened to my son!” She sobbed loudly enough to summon Kenneth, who was taken aback when he saw Lily on their living room floor, clutching her phone and crying her heart out.

“Honey, what’s the matter?” Kenneth asked worriedly. But Lily couldn’t respond.

Kenneth snatched the phone from Lily’s grasp at that point. “Hello? “Who is this?”

“This is Officer Duncan calling, sir. We regret to inform you that your son, Leonard Williams, died this morning in a motorcycle accident. We would appreciate it if you could come as soon as possible to confirm the boy’s body is Leonard’s. We found your phone number in his phone and called you.”

Kenneth couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Are you sure, officer, that’s our Leonard? This…this can’t be……”

“Look, sir. We found this contact on the victim’s phone. This number was listed as “mom.” Either way, you should come and confirm the body. Thank you,” Officer Duncan said before hanging up.

Kenneth and Lily were heartbroken. They rushed from Chicago to Milwaukee, where the officer had said Leonard’s body was, hoping that everything they had heard was a mistake or a bad dream that would pass quickly.

However, when they arrived at the morgue, they couldn’t believe the lifeless boy, the pale-skinned body, was their son. Lily sobbed on the floor, and Kenneth had a stream of tears streaming down his cheeks.

Kenneth and Lily organized their son’s funeral the next day in Milwaukee — too heartbroken to bring him to their hometown, the place which had marked the beginning of their estranged relationship — and bid Leonard farewell. But the loss of their son strained their relationship.

Kenneth became extremely quiet, drinking heavily and cursing himself deep down for being a terrible father, as Lily continued to blame him for kicking their son out of their home.

In the days that followed, Kenneth never bothered to accompany Lily to Leonard’s grave. He felt guilty about confronting his son, and he could never muster enough courage to face him. Lily, on the other hand, drove two hours to visit her son’s grave every day.

One day, she had just arrived at Leonard’s grave when she noticed a small teddy bear near it. She removed it and set it aside, thinking someone must have left it there by mistake, replaced it with the bouquet she’d bought, and sat there talking to her son for a while before leaving.

However, when she returned to the grave the next day, the teddy bear was there again, and this time there were several toys with it.

She was perplexed at this point as to whether they had been left there on purpose. She asked the caretaker if he knew anything, but he said he didn’t.

Lily left the cemetery that day, wondering who could be bringing toys to her son’s grave, but when she returned the next day, all her doubts vanished.

Lily had just arrived at the cemetery that day when she noticed a young woman standing in front of Leonard’s grave, holding a baby in her arms. The woman’s had eyes were closed like she was praying. After a few minutes, she placed a toy near Leonard’s grave and walked away.

Lily couldn’t contain her curiosity and decided to approach her. “Excuse me,” she said. “Do you know my son? I just noticed you placed a toy near his grave. Are you the one who has been doing it for days?”

The woman looked a little stunned. “Are you Lily Williams? Leonard’s mother?”

“You know me?” Lily’s eyes widened.

“Of course, Mrs. Williams,” the woman said, her eyes welling up. Lily sensed a strange fear and worry in her tears. “I’m Carrie. I’m Leonard’s girlfriend. And this baby is Henry, our son.”

Lily couldn’t believe her eyes when she looked at the child. The baby was an exact replica of her late son! “But Leonard, he never….”

“I never imagined we’d meet like this, Mrs. Williams,” Carrie stated. “Leonard missed you terribly. He was hoping to reconnect with you, but…” The woman almost burst into tears.

Lily consoled her, then the two walked to a nearby park. As Carrie sat there wiping her tears, she revealed the whole story to Lily.

It turned out Leonard met Carrie when he came to her town to pursue his dreams. However, due to lack of funds, he began working as a part-time waiter at a diner to support himself, and it was there that he met Carrie.

The two moved in together, and more than a year later, Carrie got pregnant. Leonard was overjoyed! He wrote a song dedicated to his future child, which was not a big hit but received a lot of attention in some US states.

That inspired him to take the next step in his career, and he began knocking on the doors of various producers. Some even agreed to collaborate with him. However, tragedy struck Carrie and Leonard when the man was involved in an accident.

That very morning, Carrie was rushed to the hospital due to labor pains. A neighbor had called the ambulance for her, and she had no idea Leonard was involved in an accident. She was unconscious for a few days after the delivery, and when she woke up, she learned Leonard had passed away.

The woman couldn’t stop crying and began visiting his grave almost daily. The toys she’d been leaving were the ones Leonard had purchased for their child.

“I didn’t know what to do when I found out he had died,” Carrie went on. “The cops….they tracked my address through Leonard’s driver’s license, and that’s how I found out he was no longer alive. They also said that you and Mr. Williams had planned the funeral in Milwaukee. I contacted the cemeteries one by one and discovered Leonard was here.

“I wanted to meet you one day but didn’t know how to. Leonard loved you, and he promised that when he became famous, he’d call you and his father here, and all of us would live happily as a family. But sadly, that did not happen.”

Lily couldn’t contain her tears when she heard that. She’d already lost her son, and she didn’t want to lose her grandson as well. So she invited Carrie and Henry to move in with her, asserting that they were as much a part of her family as Leonard. The young lady was hesitant at first but eventually agreed when Lily insisted.

Thanks to that fateful day, Lily and Kenneth’s lives changed for the better. Kenneth became a loving grandfather to Henry, and seeing him care for the little boy caused Lily to become more patient and understanding with him, which improved their relationship.

Carrie considers herself fortunate to have met Lily and Kenneth, who are wonderful grandparents to Henry. They also helped her get Leonard’s song published by a well-known label.

Carrie says Henry, who is 5 years old now, is incredibly proud of his father’s career as a musician and aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps, and Lily and Kenneth are fully supportive of Henry.

What can we learn from this story?

  • Anger and impatience only complicate things. Instead of leaving his parents’ house in a rage, Leonard could have tried another way to convince his parents of his passion. Kenneth, too, should not have been so harsh with his son. Anger and arguments just strained Kenneth and Leonard’s relationship to the point that the boy severed ties with his father and Lily.
  • It’s not always easy, but having a big heart and acceptance sometimes makes things right. Lily and Kenneth’s relationship had improved since Lily welcomed Carrie and Henry into her home and accepted them as her family.

Having just gotten engaged less than a fortnight ago, there is more cause for celebration for Jimmy Donaldson and his camp

I think it’s safe to say that philanthropist YouTuber MrBeast has become a household name.

MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, has become the most successful YouTuber out there with by far the most subscribers having bypassed Indian music channel T-Series, on 283 million.

The 26-year-old has surpassed 341 million subscribers on his main channel with the government Census calculating there to be 341 million people living in the US.

But by no stretch of the imagination has it been easy, with his journey starting half his lifetime ago at the age of 13 back in 2012 – when he primarily uploaded content related to Minecraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

His channel didn’t really take off for the next five years, having diversified content he was trying everything to make a name for himself and his channel, but his big break came when he uploaded a video in 2017 titled ‘Counting to 100,000’.

Yes, he really counted to 100,000 and it took him more than 40 hours to do so – after the video went viral he realized he’d found a niche that for whatever reason people enjoyed watching so he then uploaded two more videos based on the same ideology.

These were: ‘Reading the dictionary for 24 hours’ and ‘Saying Logan Paul 100,000 Times’.

He then began using all the money he’d gained from YouTube paying him for the amount of subscribers and video views he had, to put it back into his videos.

Soon after, he began letting people use his card in Walmart to buy whatever they want and those videos were a huge success. It snowballed with him giving more and more money away.

MrBeast saw just how well the videos of him giving money away were doing that he began holding competitions with huge cash prizes that people could only dream of, as well as posting videos where he’d trap himself underground for 24 hours and so on.

The guy knows what he’s doing.

Now, following on from the success of MrBeast releasing his own version of Squid Game, he’s since landed another lucrative deal with Prime Video in what’s been dubbed as the ‘largest game show in history’.

Titled Beast Games, it’s based on his YouTube show in a ‘fast-paced and high-production format’.

It sees 2,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash prize – the largest single prize in TV and streaming history.

Beast Games aired on Prime Video on December 19, but only two episodes dropped with the remaining eight episodes are then released on a weekly basis.

Elderly Woman Celebrates Christmas Alone after Her Children Find Out She Is a Cleaner – Story of the Day

Victoria’s children were too busy to call her most of the time, except for Christmas. But this year, her son discovered she was a cleaner at a store and stopped communicating with her altogether. Victoria thought she would have to spend the holidays alone until she heard a surprising knock on her door.

Victoria was holding a broom tightly in her hands, but she had stopped cleaning abruptly because of the man who walked into the furniture store where she worked. It was her son, Matthew, staring at her with intense wide eyes and a shocked expression. Victoria smiled and started walking towards him, but he turned around and ran out of the store.

She was surprised by his reaction. Matthew had always been a mama’s boy. But things always change as children get older, Victoria thought. She resolved to talk to him later and continued her job.

When her husband died ten years ago, her children, Matthew and Marina, suggested selling their big house and getting her a tiny apartment, which would be easier to maintain. They wanted to use the rest of the money to start their respective businesses.

Eventually, their endeavors took off, and they got so busy they could barely contact their mother every once in a while. But the holidays were coming up, and sadly, Victoria realized that her retirement money was not enough for her to live, much less buy presents for her children and grandchildren.

So, at 65 years old, she started working as a cleaner at a furniture store at the mall. The work was not that hard, and she was still young enough to do it. With her job, she had enough money to pay her bills and had even bought all kinds of presents for everyone. However, she had not told her kids about it, afraid of how they might react.

It seemed like keeping quiet was the best option, especially after seeing how Matthew seemed embarrassed seeing her. Still, she called him to explain everything.

“I’m sorry, mother. I’m busy right now. Can I call you later?” Matthew said that night when Victoria called to explain. She worried and bit her bottom lip with her teeth.

“But, honey. About today—” she replied.

“Bye, mother,” her son said more forcefully, and the line went dead.

She couldn’t figure out what was going on. Matthew’s reaction seemed like an exaggeration. Being a cleaner was nothing to be ashamed of, it’s honest work. Therefore, Victoria decided to call her daughter and see if she knew why her son was acting so weird.

“Mom, I’m busy. I’ll call you later,” Marina said as soon as she picked up Victoria’s call. The older woman couldn’t even get a word in.

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll see them at Christmas and explain everything,” she said to herself and continued with her night.

Unfortunately, none of them had called her to settle things for the holiday. They always celebrated at one of their houses, but Victoria had no idea which of her kids was hosting the celebration this year. They hadn’t called back as they promised either, and she was starting to worry.

Two days before Christmas, she sat down with her neighbor, Lorena Atkinson, and unloaded all her worries. “I’m sure they’ll call soon enough, Vickie,” her friend said after hearing the entire story. The two sat in Victoria’s living room, eating cookies and sipping coffee.

“I don’t know. They’ve never acted this way. They are not answering my calls anymore. I don’t understand why. I’m not doing anything wrong. What if they don’t invite me for Christmas? What will I do?” Victoria asked, holding her cup a little tighter as the anxious thoughts took hold.

“Don’t worry. If they don’t invite you, you’ll come to my house. But I honestly don’t get it either. There’s nothing wrong with your job,” Lorena added, popping a cookie in her mouth.

Lorena, who was around the same age as Victoria, lived in the penthouse of Victoria’s apartment building. Her whole family gathered in her home because it had so much room, so Christmas at her house would be fun.

But Victoria wanted to spend the holidays with her family. This situation was so hard. Why are they acting this way? Why are they icing me out? she worried, despite Lorena’s kind words.

The two women finished their coffee, and Lorena left, promising that everything would be alright and giving her friend a warm hug. Sadly, Christmas morning came, and there was still no call from Marina or Matthew. Victoria cried that entire morning. She looked at the presents under her tree and grew sad as she went to cook her breakfast.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. It’s probably Lorena. I guess I’ll have to accept her invitation to Christmas dinner, Victoria thought gloomily, walking towards her door.

“Surprise!” her kids and grandkids yelled at the door. Victoria clutched her chest, startled, but smiled immediately. “What? What are you doing here?”

“We’re here to see you, Grandma! This year, we’re spending the whole Christmas day here!” Marina’s daughter, Elizabeth, yelled in excitement, walking in with a huge gift box. She was ten years old and the oldest of her grandchildren. The other four ranged between nine to five years old, and they all rushed into the apartment, going directly for the presents under her tree.

“Everyone, calm down. Let’s get settled first, and Grandma will give you your gifts,” Marina called to all the children and then focused on her mother. “Mom, hey. Sorry, we didn’t call earlier. But this was sort of unplanned.”

“Oh, don’t worry. Come in. Come in!” Victoria replied, using her hands to urge the adults inside. Marina’s husband entered behind her, and then Matthew’s wife came in, giving her a big hug.

Matthew came in last and made eye contact with his mother. Victoria looked up at her son, and tears almost welled in her eyes. Then he pulled her in for another big hug and held on for a long time.

“I’m so sorry, Mom. I… I don’t know what came over me when I saw you at that store,” he said, not letting go of his mother.

Victoria was all too happy to keep holding her son. “Were you ashamed of me?” “At first, I thought it was that. I couldn’t believe my mother was a cleaning lady. But then, after I received that call from your neighbor, I realized that I was more embarrassed with myself,” Matthew answered.

“What? My neighbor?” Victoria asked, pulling a bit away to look into her son’s eyes. “Yes, Mrs. Atkinson. She said she lives in this building. We met when you moved, and I gave her my contact information in case of emergencies,” Matthew replied.

“Anyway, she called and chewed me out for not inviting you to Christmas and for not answering your calls. Then she said I should be ashamed of myself for having a successful business and making you work hard just to live. That’s when it clicked.” “What clicked?” Victoria asked.

“I was ashamed that I never paid you back for the money from your house. I mean, you gave it to us so easily and never asked for anything. And while we now have money, an expensive car, and remodeled our house, you were struggling to pay your bills. I felt like a failure, and I couldn’t deal with it. I thought I was angry at you, but it was quite the opposite,” Matthew explained, finally letting go.

Just then, Victoria felt a hand on her back. It was Marina. “I thought I was angry at you too. For not telling us you needed money. For not telling us you were cleaning a store. But I was mad at myself. You shouldn’t have to work when the money you gave us is more than enough to keep you comfortable for the rest of your life. I can’t believe we never thought about paying you back before.”

“You don’t have to. It’s ok,” Victoria began, but Marina interrupted her gently. “We have to pay you back, especially after that chewing out from Mrs. Atkinson. She called me too. She said you worked so hard so our kids could have presents from their grandmother, and so we wouldn’t have to worry about you,” Marina continued.

Victoria smiled and made a mental note to thank Lorena for doing that. “Let’s forget about it for now, ok?” she appeased her children and turned to look at her grandkids. “It’s time for everyone to open presents!”

They spent the best Christmas as a family. It was one Victoria would never forget. Marina and Matthew eventually paid their mother back, and they started depositing more money in her account just in case.

But Victoria didn’t quit her job. She liked it. Chatting with her coworkers was fun. She officially retired at 70 years old with a pretty decent amount of money in the bank.

And her children never forgot to invite her and always answered her calls.

What can we learn from this story?

  • Honest work is nothing to be ashamed of. No one should be embarrassed by their job. Working hard to earn a living is all that matters.
  • Don’t forget the sacrifices your parents made for you. Marina and Matthew forgot about the money their mother gave them to start their companies. But they remembered after being scolded and made amends.

People can’t get over just how good she looks after surgery despite undergoing a handful of operations in one sitting

Warning: This article contains discussion of cosmetic surgery which some readers may find distressing.

‘Damn! Damn! Damn!’ is just one of the reactions to the before and after photo of a woman who went under the knife.

Now, I normally wouldn’t ever encourage anyone to get cosmetic surgery done, but after seeing how one lady was completely rejuvenated, I certainly wouldn’t get in the way of anyone’s plans.

The before picture of the woman, she looks like your typical mom in her 50s (YouTube/@Dr.Truesdale)

The internet has gone crazy over a viral video posted to a surgeon’s YouTube showing how one of his clients looked after they visited him.

Dr Carl Truesdale, a double board certified facial plastic surgeon living in Beverly Hills, California, shared his work to YouTube and Instagram and people cannot fathom how he managed to make one woman in particular look years younger.

“My patients say they’ve entered the Truesdale Time Machine because they leave surgery looking 20 years younger, yet still look like themselves,” the doctor writes in his YouTube bio.

And I don’t think he’s lying! Let’s dive into the video.

When asked by Truesdale, ‘what are we doing today’, his patient replies: “I’m getting a deep planner face lift, deep planner neck lift, an upper blepharoplasty, a lower upper blepharoplasty, a skin pinch because I have excessive baggage and a brow lift and a chin implant, and fat transfer.”

Immediately, you think the worst – that is just too much work to be getting done all at once to look good right? Well, apparently not.

When you see the before and after photos she looks completely different, she has a more fresh feeling to her and doesn’t look as tired.

Taking to the comments on YouTube, one person commented: “Wow!!!! This is THE FIRST before and after I’ve seen where the results are absolute perfection. She handled that procedure flawlessly.

“It looks so natural and not over done and pulled so tight that her head looks like it’s being sucked through a vacuum hose. This Dr did amazing and this woman looks amazing.”

A second typed: “Plastic surgery done right! She’s refreshed but completely natural… you’re a skillful artist!!”

While a third said: “If you would’ve shown just the end result without any context, I never would’ve guessed she had any work done. I know we’ll never be able to look exactly how we did when we were younger, but I can only imagine the happiness she felt from the final results.

“I just checked her age! Holy crap, she’s 57?! She looks 35 going on 30!! She looks smoother than a silk robe!”

With a fourth adding: “DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! I didn’t know how this one was going to go, but DAMN!

“She looks like her young granddaughter! Wow! She looks A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Wow! That’s incredible! Whew! She went from 60s to late 20s/early 30s. She looks great! I know she is happy!”
