If you were wondering for some reason, here you go

If anyone finds out your own search habits, burn the internet to the ground, and if it’s possible to find out about other people’s search habits, run as fast as you can because we all want to know.

This became possible when the Spotify Wrapped for pervs was revealed in the Pornhub yearly review.

This year’s reviews has already been released, including what categories reigned supreme this year, which had somewhat of an impact on what people were searching – and that’s video games characters, in case you were wondering.

But it wasn’t just the realm of games that people were looking to get their rocks off to, but also movie characters, too.

Variety is the spice of life, after all.

Top of the list was Harley Quinn, and while the naïve hope may remain that it was confused poor souls were looking for the new Joker film, in all likelihood that is probably not quite correct – or though if it was, then I’m not sure Pornhub would be the place to find it.

Second up was Star Wars, as people clearly are looking far far away from their own galaxy to fantasise about the likes of Jar-Jar Binks and Jabba the Hutt when pleasuring themselves.

Rounding out the top three was Game of Thrones, which might come as a surprise to some given the amount of sex already present in GOT.

Filling out the rest of the list of movie characters people have been fiddling themselves to, the blue beauties of Avatar come next, followed by Harry Potter and Wonder Woman.

The next entry, The Incredibles, started a full-on argument here in LADbible, with some finding it perfectly understandable and others failing to see the appeal of a cartoon character.

One journalist, who asked to remain anonymous, even referred to Elastigirl as ‘thicker than a bowl of Oatmeal’.

Regardless, as weird as some of us may find it, it is apparently more normal than you’d think to be stroking your turkey to made up characters as opposed to real life people.

Jessica Toscano, a professional sexologist, spoke to The Daily Mail about how common it is for people to have ‘fantasies’ to figure out what does it for them.

She said: “Fantasy and kinks really go hand-in-hand, as kinks are essentially playing out fantasies. Exploring kinks usually allows for more intimacy and pleasure in a safe, communicative, consensual environment.

Where's the love for Mr Incredible? (Pixar)

“Ultimately, kinks are healthy to explore and can improve your relationship with your partner as long as communication and consent are top priorities”.

Further, if you’re specifically weirded out by cartoons being so high on the list, it’s again – more normal than you’d think.

In a book titled Sexual Perversions and Paraphilias: An A to Z, Dr Mark Griffiths, a professor of behavioural addiction, discussed what he referred to as ‘toonophilia’, the sexual fetish for cartoons.

He also said (via The Daily Mail) that even though to the unknowing person that would assume it’s only cartoon characters, it also extends to a wider universe, something he calls ‘ficto-philia’.

He adds that some have even gone so far to call for ‘relationships and marriages between humans and cartoon characters to be made legal’.

Wet Bandit actor Daniel Stern has a very different life nowadays

After starring in Home Alone and its sequel, one of the main actors who helped make the iconic films what they are stepped away from movies.

This was probably helped in part by the unique clause he placed in his contract which earned him millions for the role.

Daniel Stern, who played Marv, was originally offered $300,000 to star in the original film, and ended up tenporarily pulling out after they extended the shoot dates by a couple weeks before producers tempted him back.

Upon being asked to return for Home Alone 2, he had found out his Wet Bandit co-star Joe Pesci was earning significantly more, $3 million (£2.36 million), so Stern fired his agent and asked for a pay bump.

He said: “I knew they couldn’t do the movie without me, but I was also insecure, since I almost blew it the first time.

“I didn’t want to be too greedy when I loved the movie and the part so much.”

He ended up getting the studio to agree to $1.5 million (£1.18million), but more importantly got them to agree to being paid 1% of the gross of the film.

This blossomed into a $3.59 million slice of a $359,000,000 pie.

Now, I know what you’re thinking.

So he stepped away from movies because he made a load of money and ran off into the sunset, right?

Wrong. Kind of.

Stern opened up about the experience of Hollywood on his website, revealing that he was married and a father by the age of 23, and so ‘obviously had to just focus on [his] show business career’.

He went on to say that he ‘needed’ to step away from films.

He said: “I did a lot of great movies but there came a point where I missed being away from my family.

“I decided to stop traveling so much, stay home and focus on my family and my other artistic passions.

“The result of that decision is that I have a wonderful family life and this body of work.”

The body of work in question is varied.

As well as a few roles here and there, he has worked as an artist, focusing particularly on creating bronze sculptures.

He also documents his life on social media, including showing his life living on a farm.

He said in a recent TikTok: “I live on a farm and we grow tangerines here.”

Stern also described a cute interaction with his son in a recent interview with the New York Times, saying: “My son said to me: ‘You’re a seasonal superstar’. Every year you come around.”

Regarding the documenting on social media of his quite life of farming and art, the Wet Bandit said in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight: “The social media thing is interesting in that it’s much more intimate and much more me and I can do silly things on it.

“We’ve got pickers and growers. We’re job creators that way you know, it’s wonderful to see it.

“We give a portion of it to food banks and stuff like this. It’s a wonderful life and just for me personally, I need the solitude myself. I just need the solitude, and I got it.”

Shrek could’ve looked very different

There are certain film roles where it’s just impossible to imagine anyone else playing them.

Whether it be an older classic like Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones or a newer one like Margot Robbie as Barbie, there’s just some casting that is so perfect you cannot picture a world where anyone else was picked.

Shrek is undoubtably one of these, with Mike Myers’ performance as the beloved green ogre so iconic that it’s impossible to think of anyone else playing him.

That is just what was originally set to happen however, because Myers wasn’t even the original casting for the role.

In actual fact the original actor cast for the role had reportedly recorded ‘85 percent’ of the lines needed for the film, with Myers cast way down the line.

The original actor in the role was Chris Farley, the iconic comedian best known for his time on Saturday Night Live.

Farley was plagued with drug problems, and tragically overdosed on a combination of cocaine and morphine in 1997.

Farley was just 33 at the time of his death and was stated to have recorded most of his lines already after being cast in Shrek.

The comedian’s original take on Shrek was quite different to Myers, going closer to his own voice as opposed to the faux-Scottish accent that became iconic.

There is actually test footage partially drawn of scenes Farley voiced alongside Eddie Murphy, which can be seen below:

Myers spoke about the role years later and revealed he hadn’t even been told that he was brought in as Farley’s replacement.

He spoke to Vulture, where he said: “They had created this maquette, a little statue made of clay of all the characters, and Shrek looked exactly like Chris Farley.

“I was at my third meeting, and I go, ‘Guys, was this offered to Chris Farley and then he died?’ Everyone looked at their shoes.

“I said: ‘No, but seriously, really?’ (Pause.) ‘No.’ ‘Oh, okay.’

“I get in the parking lot, and I go, ‘I think this was Farley’s.’ It was! I was right, but they didn’t tell me.”

Farley’s brother John was offered by the studio to complete his lines, as he apparently only had five days left of filming. He stated that he just wasn’t able to do it however, and the role was recast.

Farley’s death was a shock to the American comedy community, of whom he was a trailblazer in the 90s.

Myers said in a documentary of his death: “I wasn’t shocked but I was very sad”.

Adam Sandler, who was also close to Farley, wrote a tribute song called the ‘Chris Farley Song’ in his 2018 Netflix special Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh.

In the song Sandler sings: “We laughed all night long because of Farley/ But a few months later the party came to an end/ We flew out to Madison to bury our friend.

“Yeah I miss hanging out/ Watching you try to get laid/ But most of all I miss watching you torture [David] Spade.

“You’re a legend how you want it, but I still wish you were here with me/ And we were getting on a plane to shoot Grown Ups 3”.

Meanwhile, Chris Rock said on the 25th anniversary of his death: “No one was competing with Farley.

“It’s sad when our friend’s not here, but it is curious to [think] ‘Wow, what would that guy have done?’

“He’s literally that level of actor, and that level of like, you just felt for that guy.

“Whatever ride Chris Farley was going to take me on, I was definitely ready to go on it.”

A biopic covering Farley’s life is in the works starring Paul Walter Hauser, with Josh Gad directing.

Meanwhile, Myers went on to star in four Shrek films, with a fifth confirmed to be in the works and coming out in 2026.

A guest on The Joe Rogan Experience he encountered a giant fish ‘the size of a cow’ and lived to tell the tale

Garrett Reisman could be mankind’s answer to Spongebob, with the pair having both lived at the bottom of the ocean.

Now, the engineer and former NASA astronaut has opened up about life on the seabed and his terrifying encounter with a huge underwater creature ‘the size of a cow’.

Yes, the only logical reason for anyone to live under the sea is in the name of science, unless you’re a talking mermaid who’s mates with a talking lobster.

Anyway, let’s get into Reisman’s experience – and if we can learn anything from it, it’s that thalassophobia, the fear of the ocean, is very understandable as we have no clue what’s moving underneath us.

The 56-year-old American was invited onto The Joe Rogan Experience and dived straight into his time 60ft underwater in a submarine-like home on the seabed off the coast of Key Largo, in southern Florida.

Reisman explained how, if he needed to go use the toilet, he had to swim to a gazebo and pull his trunks down to go number two – but the problem with that is that the fish get ‘accustomed to it’.

“So they go there knowing that you’re gonna poop?” asked Joe Rogan.

“As soon as you drop in the water at night it’s like the dinner bell going off, because this is feeding time,” replied Reisman.

He then went into his scariest experience – which just so happened to be when he was visiting the underwater bogs.

He went on: “You’re in the pitch-black Atlantic Ocean 60ft down, no scuba tank at night at with the sound of the ocean lapping against the dome, and you’re looking down at this endless black, you know, just a black void.

“You’re thinking about every single scary ocean movie like Jaws, you know The Meg, or whatever,The Abyss – all those scary movies, right, and you think about all those things that could be down there – it can’t help but go through your head so it’s kind of freaky.

“Then you finish and you put your mask back on, and I took a big breath, and I went down, and I opened my eyes in my mask in the darkness with my flashlight and I saw like right in front of me, this huge eyeball like about the size of a saucer.”

Reisman continued: “This big staring, unblinking right at me and I freaked I just tore off.”

The former astronaut rushed back to his underwater home and surfaced screaming. His crew rushed over to him, thinking he was bit by a shark, and he explained. So what on earth was it, if it wasn’t a shark?

He added: “I’m like ‘giant f***ing fish!’… it was a Goliath Grouper.”

The huge fish can reach up to 455kg, which is about as heavy as a grand piano, and be up to 8ft tall.

Yeah, you couldn’t get me to live underwater if you paid me £1 million.

The protagonist might not be your usual kind of movie star, but Netflix users can’t get enough of him

A lot of us have been binge-watching Christmas classics over the last week or so, but there can come a point when you need a change of topic.

Don’t get me wrong, the likes of Home AloneThe Holiday and The Grinch never get old – but there’s no harm in sticking a film on which doesn’t involve the month of December.

There’s plenty of lighthearted movies on Netflix which can still give you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside, even though they don’t have a festive flair to them. And luckily, another one of these feel-good films has just landed on the streaming platform…and people can’t stop talking about it. Take a look at the trailer here:

The ‘preposterous’ concept might not be your usual cup of tea, but according to viewers, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is an absolute masterpiece.

The 2021 film might be focused on the pursuit of a seaside souvenir who becomes a viral phenomenon while trying to track down his family, but it boasts a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Which is pretty good going for a one-inch-tall talking shell, don’t you think?

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is both a live-action and stop-motion animated ‘mockumentary’ film – which is quite the mouthful. But underneath all that technical stuff, it’s also a movie which has been dubbed ‘impossible not to love’ thanks to it’s emotional plot which revolves around family and friendship.

Former couple Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer-Camp came up with the unusual character way back in 2010 and went on to produce a series of shorts about Marcel the Shell.

Interestingly, the journey which their character heads on in the 2021 film was inspired by their relationship and subsequent amicable divorce in 2016.

Reflecting on how their real-life experiences impacted the movie, Fleischer-Camp reckons it was in ‘a pretty positive way’.

Slate and Fleischer-Camp came up with the character back in 2010 (Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for National Board of Review)

“Sometimes the things that might wear on a daily relationship can actually make a creative relationship much more productive and powerful,” he told Screen Daily last year.

Slate also believes that their shared history lent ‘layers of the unconscious in a story that doesn’t feel vague or veiled’.

“The story of Marcel is the story of Marcel, it’s not a stand-in for its creators,” she added. “But our own psyches are embedded in there and it’s a nice way to work through all of it.”

And this might be why people are resonating with Marcel the Shell with Shoes On so much.

Essentially, Marcel the Shell – who is voiced by Slate – lives in an Airbnb with his grandmother, Nana Connie, and his pet ball of lint named Alan.

A documentary filmmaker named Dean then ends up moving into the property after his marriage ends, and he stumbles across the unusual trio. But it’s Marcel who is the star of the show – and after sharing a few clips online of the talking shell, the little guy becomes an internet sensation.

Marcel decides to try and use his new-found popularity to reunite with his long-lost family…and I’ll let you find the rest out for yourself, but all I will say is – keep the Kleenex close.

That little shell with shoes on has had Netflix viewers glued to their TV screens since it dropped, so it’s certainly worth the watch.

But make no mistake, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On was doing just fine anyway.

The movie earned a nomination at the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature in 2023, as well as getting stellar ratings on Rotten Tomatoes since it’s release.

Both critics and fans have applauded the film since it came out in 2021 – while also acknowledging the fact that a talking shell is a pretty weird protagonist.

One fan wrote: “An entirely preposterous concept, which somehow becomes one of the sweetest and most touching movies I have ever seen.”

Another added: “This movie touched me on so many levels that I didn’t know was possible. The beauty of the story and the message of the movie moved me so incredibly much.”

And a third said: ” It’s nearly impossible not to love this film. Full of heart, joy and humour! It is highly recommended.”

I mean, what more do you need to hear?

Gather your loved ones and stick Marcel the Shell with Shoes On ASAP.

Tim Miller helmed the first Deadpool movie

The director of the first Deadpool film has revealed the pay packet he took home for creating the flick that kicked off the foul-mouthed franchise.

Whatever you think of the Deadpool films, the first one was undeniably a bit of a miracle.

The movie, which had been written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, was in production purgatory before test footage leaked of Ryan Reynolds as the masked fourth-wall-breaking superhero. While Reynolds has always hinted he may have been the one to leak it, it has never been revealed.

The reaction to the footage was overwhelming and the first movie was directed by Tim Miller.

Miller did not return for the second or third films, but is still proud of his work

When asked about the film, the director told Collider: “You know what I feel? Nothing but pride. I mean, I feel like every time I walk down the aisles out there on the floor of CCXP and I see all these Deadpool figurines, I think they wouldn’t be here if we hadn’t made that film.

“I feel uniquely fortunate that I could be part of it.

“Then, then my second thought is, I wish my director deals had a piece of the merchandising so that I could get some money from all of that.

“You guys might not know, but it’s not really a profitable thing to be a first-time director in Hollywood, and I’ll tell you exactly.

“I got $225,000 [£179,550] to direct Deadpool. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but for two years of work, that’s not a ton of money. Not that I’m not grateful, I’m f*cking grateful, that’s the way it is because you’re supposed to when you’re a first-time director.

“My agent said ‘Dude, you make more on an episode of The Walking Dead!’”

While $225,000 does sound a lot, the news left fans shocked when placed among the context of how much the film, and its subsequent sequels that don’t happen without the first, made.

None of this would be a reality without the first film (Disney)

None of this would be a reality without the first film (Disney)

The first film made over $600 million, with the resulting flicks making $585 million and just over $1 billion.

This doesn’t even factor in the mountains of cash that Deadpool will have earned Marvel in merch.

Fans on Twitter were shocked to find this out.

One estimated he made roughly 60k a year from the film, tweeting: “$112,500 a year minus tax minus 10% to agent and/or manager minus 10% to a lawyer and you end up with (roughly) 60k a year making something that is going to make billions. the reality of Hollywood”.

The director has thankfully gone on to maintain a level of success that makes Deadpool seem like less of a fluke.

He created Love, Death and Robots, a Netflix anthology show with a score of 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.4/10 on IMDb.

Shutter Island is brimming with blink-and-you-miss-it clues

If you’re looking for a film that will leave your head spinning, Shutter Island is a good place to start.

The epic plot twist in the 2010 psychological thriller left us all reeling the first time we watched it – so much so, that a lot of viewers went back for seconds, and thirds.

Which is how this movie buff managed to spot a series of ‘major clues’ which were slipped into the opening scenes that went over most peoples’ heads.

Film fanatic Alex, better known as StarkVerse online, shared a TikTok video breaking down all the subtle hints in Shutter Island which signalled that not everything was as it seemed.

Leonardo DiCaprio starred as US Marshal Edward ‘Teddy’ Daniels, who heads out to a hospital which houses the criminally insane in search of a patient who has vanished.

He is accompanied by his so-called partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) and ends up having quite the terrifying experience as he investigates the disappearance.

However, viewers were left open mouthed when the truth emerged at the end of the film.

It turned out that DiCaprio’s character was actually on a wild goose chase, as he was in fact a patient at the creepy hospital himself.

DiCaprio's 'seasickness' in the opening scene was down to something else, according to Alex (Paramount Pictures)

DiCaprio’s ‘seasickness’ in the opening scene was down to something else, according to Alex (Paramount Pictures)

The ‘investigation’ was a farce – which everyone on the island was in on – that was arranged by Dr. Cawley (Ben Kingsley) as a sort of role-play therapy to help him confront his past.

It’s safe to say a few of us dropped our popcorn when we realised DiCaprio wasn’t the hero after all – but it turns out there were a ton of tip-offs littered in the opening scenes.

According to Alex, it ‘took him 14 years’ to cotton onto all of this clever foreshadowing, so don’t get disheartened if you never managed to pick up on them yourself.

In the video, the social media star explained: “It’s a movie that definitely rewards multiple viewings.

“It’s an entirely different experience watching this movie when you know all the twists at the end, because there are so many big clues very early in the film that are mind-blowing.

“Like in the beginning of the movie, we can see Teddy taking a ferry to Shutter Island and we can see him not feeling well. And he thinks this is because he is seasick – but actually, the ocean water reminds his brain of what his wife did to his kids.”

There’s the first bombshell for you…but Alex reckons the boat journey to Shutter Island is brimming with even more nods to the plot twist, too.

Clues hinting at the epic plot twist are littered in Shutter Island (Paramount Pictures)

He continued: “Then he goes up on the deck and he meets Chuck, and Teddy doesn’t think it is weird that he meets the only other US Marshal on the boat – when in reality, they would have gotten on the boat together.

“It’s so easy to accept this just as ‘normal’ for the audience, but then when they arrive on the island, if you pay attention to the guards, all of them tense up almost as if they would be afraid of Teddy.”

Alex concluded by discussing the ‘most obvious’ clue which was inserted into the beginning of Shutter Island, which occurs when Teddy and Chuck arrive at the hospital.

He went on: “When they are entering and they’re asked to take off their firearms, we can see Chuck is struggling to take his off, which should have told us right away that something is wrong here.”

As we later discover, Chuck is a psychiatrist rather than a detective, so he’s not experienced with handling guns and can’t coolly remove it from his holster. Incredible, right?

Social media users seemed to think so, as they flooded the comment sections with their thoughts on Alex’s observations.

One said: “I have always said, Shutter Island is two movies. On the second viewing, the story is completely different.”

Another wrote: “I am 100% sure that Shutter Island is an aftermovie of Inception.”

While a third added: “I finally watched this movie. When the plot twist came – until this day, there’s no plot twist that got me like this. Best plot twist ever. Makes you jump out your seat type energy.”

Does anyone else fancy sticking Shutter Island on?

Denzel Washington turned down huge role in Se7en that could have changed entire movie

The Training Day star passed up on the offer to take a leading role in the 1995 thriller

You might think that Se7en is a superb film which has little room for improvement – but what if Denzel Washington was cast in it?

The veteran actor, 69, revealed that he almost starred in the 1995 thriller, but ultimately turned down the opportunity of taking on a leading role.

It’s a decision which he kicked himself for when he finally watched David Fincher’s enthralling flick – and one which could have changed the whole trajectory of the film. The critically-acclaimed movie could have looked a lot different if Washington didn’t decline the role of the new cop on the block, David Mills.

In Se7en, the recently-transferred detective is partnered up with investigator William Somerset (Morgan Freeman), who is set to retire, to solve a series of gruesome murders.

The pair butt heads quite a bit while trying to track down the cold-blooded killer, who is carrying out slayings which are based on the seven deadly sins.

As we all know, Brad Pitt ended up taking on the role of Mills – so Washington probably did him a favour turning it down, as it’s one of the most memorable parts he has ever played.

I mean, it’s not like any of us have forgotten his delivery of the iconic line: “What’s in the box?!”

But in another world, it could have been Washington uttering the sentence before realising it’s the severed head of his pregnant wife inside the package.

A lot of people reckon that The Equaliser star would have been perfect for the gig – and not just because he’s got a knack for having catchy quotes in films.

But considering his work in other dark thrillers such as The Bone Collector and The Little Things, it seemed like Se7en and Washington would be a match made in heaven.

However, the actor explained that he passed up on the opportunity because he thought the plot was ‘too demonic’, while chatting to Jamie Foxx in 2018.

In the interview for Grey Goose Vodka, Washington was quizzed about his lengthy career in showbiz, as well as how he ventured into directing and producing as well as acting.

After Washington explained that he was inspired to expand his wheelhouse because he ‘likes new challenges’, Foxx asked whether he ‘ever says no’.

The Training Day actor then responded: “I turned down Se7en. They wanted me to play the Brad Pitt part.

“I thought the script was too demonic.

“Then I saw the movie, and I was like ‘Oh, I blew it!’ But, you know, it worked out alright.”

To be fair to Washington, he did have a lot going on that year too – as he was also starring in Crimson Tide, Virtuosity and Devil in a Blue Dress.

Pitt ended up being offered the role of Mills instead and took the character in a drastically different direction than what Washington would probably have.

The pair have very different approaches to acting, so their portrayals of the idealistic detective would be like chalk and cheese.

The dynamic between Washington and Freeman’s character would have also been a lot different to the way things played out between The Shawshank Redemption star and Pitt.

Needless to say, Washington would have no doubt put his own stamp on Se7en – but I guess we will just have to use our imaginations to work out what that would have looked like.

It was so simple, yet it added a whole new layer to the scene

Christmas is over, and so is Gavin and Stacey, but that doesn’t mean that fans have stopped spotting hilarious details from the final episode.

It’s been five whole years since the 2019 Christmas special and we have been impatiently waiting to find out whether Smithy accepted Nessa’s proposal or not.

But when it was announced by writers and actors James Corden (Smithy) and Ruth Jones (Nessa) that last night’s Gavin and Stacey episode was planned to go ahead and was also the final ever instalment, we believed that the couple would obviously be walking down the aisle within the first few minutes.

What a night last night’s episode was.

We had Smithy and Nessa finally getting together, Neil the baby (Oscar Hartland) singing at his dad’s first wedding as well as the revelation that Gwen (Melanie Walters) and Dave Coaches (Steffan Rhodri) had been getting it on for six months in secret.

So much good stuff.

But let’s take it back to the stag do.

As more than 12 million people watched Smithy’s belated stag, which he was incredibly late to, eagled-eyed fans noticed a hilarious detail that most people completely missed.

It was when the boys turned up to celebrate with him that they all revealed that they were wearing West Ham footy shirts, with Bryn (Robert Brydon) even donning the shorts and socks too.

However, what you probably didn’t see was that among them all, one person refused to wear the signature badge as part of his shirt.

It was none other than Gavin.

As a Tottenham Hotspur fan, there was no way that Gav was going to betray his team for anyone, not even Smithy.

So, as you look around the group of men, you’ll see that he’s the only person who didn’t wear it.

Fans have since taken to TikTok to talk about the detail (which I’m ashamed to say that I also missed), and commented on Gavin and Stacey Clips channel, who pointed out the badge.

One person said: “I didn’t even spot that.”

Another praised: “It’s the details like this that make the show.”

But there is so much more that you probably didn’t know about the show.

A Q and A with the cast brought to light numerous behind-the-scenes moments which made the episode so much better.

Apparently, two extras went off-script during the wedding scene with Smithy and Sonia (Laura Aikman), which was seen when they stood up to object to the couple’s nuptials, even though they were seated on Sonia’s side.

For the scene, there were about ‘40 to 50 extras’ in the room as guests while Neil the Baby sang his cover of ‘Blackbird’.

Larry Lamb (Mick) explained that they all ‘sort of knew the story’ because they were all Gavin and Stacey fans, but nobody expected them to take charge of the scene.

“And the looks on their faces – the shock – it was just absolutely brilliant,” Lamb said.

When the officiant (Anna Maxwell Martin) asked if anyone else felt the same as Gavin and didn’t want the pair to get married, members of the Essex and Welsh families slowly began to stand, as did the extras.

“When Anna said, ‘Please stand’, there’s two ladies at the back on Stacey’s side who stood up! We didn’t tell them to,” Corden said.

He continued: “They were just real fans of the show who were so in it [the plot], that they just stood up and were like, ‘I just thought he shouldn’t be marrying her!’”

We’ve all wondered what happened between Bryn and Jason on their infamous fishing trip

Watching the final ever episode of Gavin & Stacey, there will be fans all over the country asking what on earth happened on the infamous fishing trip.

It is one of the greatest mysteries in TV history, and all we have known prior to the finale is that it caused Bryn and Jason to become less close due to how heinous whatever happened is, it was cold, soup is involved, it’s legal in the United Kingdom specifically, and they were on their knees.

Many hoped that what actually happened would be revealed in the final episode of Gavin and Stacey.

Those people would all have been disappointed as the finale seemed set to reveal it – just to pull it away and lock away the truth for eternity, though we probably should have seen it coming given Larry Lamb’s prior comments about it.

Despite this though, some fans reckon they already had it figured out prior to this.

The topic was started on the subreddit r/GavinandStacey following a theory that someone put in.

They posted the long theory, stating: “Hear me out: I think Bryn and Jason accidentally killed someone on their fishing trip.”

Before you go clicking off because they said the incident is ‘legal in the country’ and this person thinks they killed someone, hear them out, they address that too.

They referred to how the 2019 Christmas special has Bryn saying it’s ‘dark in every sense of the word’ and Jason saying that they ‘knew nothing about camping’.

The poster went on to say: “This makes me think that while setting up the tent, Bryn and Jason somehow accidentally killed someone, maybe with the hammer or tent poles, im not too sure on the specifics of how they did it.

“Then to answer the question of the soup, I think that Bryn and Jason, in an attempt to stay warm when it was “freezing cold” decided to make some soup to also take their minds off what they’d just done.

“Dave doesnt understand how a man and his nephew could kill someone and hide the body only to just carry on with what they were doing.

“Then when Dave speaks about it defying the laws of gravity, they could have hid the body in a tree using the rope they’ll have had from the tent.”

Then, finally, how is that legal in this country? Well, to that they claimed that ‘involuntary manslaughter wasn’t introduced as a law in Wales until the late 1990s’ – however, this part of the theory is a bit questionable as involuntary manslaughter laws were introduced in England and Wales with the Homicide Act in 1957.

While one person commented querying that they don’t know they’d call that ‘perfectly legal’, to which they said: “I get where youre coming from, and to most people it would be, but maybe that’s just what Brynn said to a young Jason to calm him down.”

Another fan pointed out: “I like the theory, especially as the two families are named after serial killers.”

The reason why we’ve never found out was explained at the film’s screening, so we’ll just have to accept that it’ll be a mystery forever.

But in retrospect with how unsettling this theory is, maybe it *is* better to just accept we’ll never know.
