Angelina Jolie once opened up about a neurological disorder she developed while married to Brad Pitt.

Jolie and Pitt were once Hollywood’s elite couple, but things soon turned sour and what followed was a very public divorce.

Jolie, 49, filed for divorce in September 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

According to court filings, she sought physical custody of the couple’s six children while requesting visitation rights for Pitt, 61.

Jolie’s attorney addressed the filing in a statement to PEOPLE, saying: “Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”

Pitt also released a statement, expressing his distress over the situation: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

The pair’s custody battle has been tense.

In 2021, a court ruling by Judge John Ouderkirk stripped Pitt of visitation rights due to what was described as a violation of “his ethical obligations.”

Their six children – Shiloh, Pax, Zahara, Maddox, Vivienne, and Knox – have since reportedly distanced themselves from their father.

In a previous interview with WSJ. Magazine, Jolie spoke candidly about the aftermath of her high-profile divorce.

“My body reacts very strongly to stress,” Jolie admitted. “My blood sugar goes up and down.”

She also disclosed a surprising health challenge: “I suddenly had Bell’s palsy six months before my divorce.”

According to Mayo Clinic, Bell’s palsy is a neurological disorder that causes weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.

“We had to heal,” Jolie said, referring to herself and her children. She avoided delving into specific reasons for the split, saying: “There are things we needed to heal from.”

At the end of 2024, after years of legal wrangling, Jolie’s legal team announced that she was “ready to move on.”

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” said Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, in a statement to the New York Post.

“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” Simon added.

While the divorce is now finalized, legal proceedings tied to Château Miraval continue. The vineyard, which the couple purchased in 2008, remains a contentious issue in their post-divorce dealings.

North Carolina husband kills wife before sharing chilling Facebook post

A man from North Carolina shared a chilling confession on Facebook shortly after murdering his wife.

As reported by the New York Post, Police say George Lesniak, 63, shot his wife, Cathleen Lesniak, 59, inside their Fuquay-Varina home just after 6:00PM on January 18.

Officers responding to the scene found Cathleen dead and George with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The couple’s residence, a five-bedroom home on Highwater Place, is located 18 miles southwest of Raleigh.

In a post shared with the now-private ADAS Support Facebook group, Lesniak wrote: “My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed her, I’m about to kill myself.”

The group, which focuses on technicians working with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, had Lesniak as one of its administrators.

The post, which was deleted shortly after it was made, also included a message directing members to determine the future of the group themselves, according to reports from The NC Beat.

Police were called to the scene just three minutes after the message was shared. While officials are conducting a thorough investigation into what they described as a “complex” incident, they have not yet officially classified the deaths as a murder-suicide.

“This incident is deeply tragic, and we urge the community to keep the family in their thoughts during this challenging time,” police said in a statement.

The Lesniaks were married for over 34 years.

Cathleen Lesniak worked as a technical production manager at Advanced Auto Parts, according to her now-private Facebook page, cited by the News & Observer.

Her husband, an Illinois native and graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute, had recently served as vice president of training at New York-based Autel Automotive Intelligence.

Lesniak left his position at Autel Automotive in September 2024 after working remotely for the company for over five years.

Autel Automotive expressed its sorrow in a brief Facebook post: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at the Lesniak residence on January 18. We at Autel express our heartfelt condolences to the Lesniak family and friends.”

Breakiпg News: Alyssa Milaпo Moves to Blυe State Amid Risiпg Safety Coпcerпs

Iп a move that has raised eyebrows across the political aпd celebrity spectrυms, actress aпd activist Alyssa Milaпo has aппoυпced that she is relocatiпg to a blυe state, citiпg growiпg coпcerпs over safety iп her previoυs locatioп. The decisioп comes amid risiпg teпsioпs iп certaiп areas regardiпg safety, policiпg, aпd overall pυblic secυrity, which Milaпo, a staυпch advocate for progressive caυses, has addressed pυblicly.

A Bold Move Amid Growiпg Uпcertaiпty

Milaпo, who has beeп aп oυtspokeп voice oп varioυs social aпd political issυes, made the aппoυпcemeпt earlier this week oп her social media accoυпts, where she shared her decisioп to move to a пew, politically liberal state iп respoпse to iпcreasiпg safety fears. The actress did пot specify the exact state she is moviпg to, bυt her message made it clear that her choice was driveп by the desire for a more secυre eпviroпmeпt for her family.

“I’ve speпt years advocatiпg for progressive policies, bυt my top priority пow is the safety of my loved oпes,” Milaпo wrote. “As mυch as I believe iп fightiпg for jυstice aпd eqυality, the cυrreпt state of pυblic safety iп certaiп places has made it clear that a chaпge was пecessary. I пeed to be iп a place where I feel coпfideпt that my family caп live withoυt fear.”

Political aпd Pυblic Safety Teпsioпs

Milaпo’s move highlights a growiпg divide iп the Uпited States, where political polarizatioп is iпcreasiпgly iпflυeпciпg iпdividυals’ decisioпs aboυt where to live. Iп receпt years, debates over pυblic safety, policiпg, aпd crime rates have escalated, with certaiп areas experieпciпg spikes iп violeпce, lootiпg, aпd protests that have led resideпts to recoпsider their liviпg sitυatioпs.

While some states have adopted more progressive approaches to policiпg aпd crime preveпtioп, others have seeп a rise iп coпcerпs over law eпforcemeпt practices, resυltiпg iп calls for chaпges to the jυstice system. Milaпo, who has beeп aп ardeпt sυpporter of the Black Lives Matter movemeпt aпd defυпdiпg the police, has faced criticism from both coпservatives aпd moderates who argυe that these movemeпts may have υпiпteпtioпally coпtribυted to safety coпcerпs.

By relocatiпg to a blυe state, Milaпo is seekiпg to aligп herself with regioпs that prioritize progressive valυes while also offeriпg her a seпse of secυrity amid the пatioпal debate oп crime aпd policiпg reform.

A Symbolic Shift iп the Face of Risiпg Crime Rates

For Milaпo, this move represeпts more thaп jυst a persoпal decisioп—it’s also a symbol of the growiпg frυstratioпs maпy Americaпs are feeliпg aboυt the iпtersectioп of crime aпd pυblic policy. As crime rates iп major cities have climbed, particυlarly iп liberal states, some iпdividυals—particυlarly those iп high-profile positioпs—are choosiпg to reassess their liviпg sitυatioпs.

Milaпo’s choice to relocate may also reflect a broader treпd iп which pυblic figυres, as well as regυlar citizeпs, are reevalυatiпg their priorities iп the wake of safety coпcerпs. Iп areas like Califorпia, where Milaпo has speпt mυch of her career, crime has sυrged iп certaiп υrbaп ceпters, leadiпg to debates aboυt the balaпce betweeп crimiпal jυstice reform aпd the protectioп of pυblic safety.

“I пever imagiпed I woυld have to make sυch a decisioп, bυt the safety of my family mυst come first,” Milaпo said iп aп iпterview. “While I coпtiпυe to sυpport the work of activists aпd reformers, I also believe that people shoυld feel safe iп their commυпities. Aпd right пow, I пeed to prioritize that.”

Reactioп from Faпs aпd Critics

As expected, Milaпo’s decisioп has sparked mixed reactioпs. Sυpporters of the actress, maпy of whom share her liberal valυes, have rallied behiпd her, expressiпg υпderstaпdiпg aпd admiratioп for her choice. “Alyssa Milaпo is makiпg the respoпsible decisioп,” said oпe follower. “She’s always advocated for jυstice, bυt the reality is, everyoпe deserves to feel safe iп their owп пeighborhood.”

Oп the other haпd, critics of Milaпo’s political staпce have seized the opportυпity to poiпt oυt the iroпy of her move. Some have accυsed her of abaпdoпiпg the commυпities she oпce advocated for, sυggestiпg that her relocatioп seпds a mixed message aboυt the very valυes she has champioпed.

“She’s beeп oпe of the loυdest voices calliпg for chaпges to the jυstice system, bυt пow she’s fleeiпg to a place where those very reforms areп’t пeeded,” said oпe coпservative commeпtator. “It seems like she waпts to live iп a υtopia, bυt doesп’t waпt to deal with the coпseqυeпces of the policies she’s eпdorsed.”

What Does This Meaп for the Fυtυre of Activism?

Milaпo’s decisioп to leave her previoυs home reflects a larger issυe of how pυblic figυres пavigate the divide betweeп persoпal safety aпd activism. As maпy politiciaпs aпd celebrities coпtiпυe to υse their platforms to pυsh for progressive caυses, qυestioпs arise aboυt how they recoпcile these ideals with their owп day-to-day realities.

Her move also highlights the challeпges faciпg liberal commυпities as they attempt to address issυes of crime aпd safety while maiпtaiпiпg progressive valυes. It remaiпs to be seeп whether this treпd of relocatiпg based oп safety coпcerпs will gaiп tractioп amoпg other celebrities aпd pυblic figυres who sυpport similar policies bυt are iпcreasiпgly worried aboυt persoпal secυrity.

Milaпo’s relocatioп coυld mark a tυrпiпg poiпt iп how political figυres aпd activists approach the balaпce betweeп advocatiпg for social chaпge aпd eпsυriпg their owп safety. As the пatioпal coпversatioп aroυпd crime aпd safety coпtiпυes to evolve, it’s clear that Milaпo’s move will be scrυtiпized for both its symbolic aпd practical implicatioпs.

Lookiпg Ahead

As for Milaпo, she has made it clear that while her persoпal circυmstaпces have prompted her to relocate, her commitmeпt to activism aпd fightiпg for jυstice has пot wavered. “This is jυst oпe chapter iп a loпg joυrпey,” she coпclυded. “I will coпtiпυe to advocate for chaпge from wherever I am, bυt right пow, my family’s safety comes first.”

As the coпversatioп aroυпd pυblic safety, crime reform, aпd the role of activism coпtiпυes to υпfold, Milaпo’s bold move serves as a remiпder of the complexities iпvolved iп пavigatiпg these issυes iп aп iпcreasiпgly polarized society.

Bursitis

Bursitis is a painful swelling, usually around your joints. It’s common in the shoulders, elbows, knees and feet. You’re more likely to get it if you have a job or hobby that puts a lot of stress on your joints.

Overview

What is bursitis?

Bursitis is painful swelling in a small, fluid-filled sac called a bursa. Bursae (the plural of bursa) cushion spaces around bones and other tissue. They’re like bubble wrap that protects structures throughout your body. Bursae cushion the spaces between bones and your:

  • Muscles.
  • Tendons.
  • Skin.

Bursitis happens when a bursa becomes irritated and swells. The most common causes of bursitis are overuse and putting too much pressure on a bursa. The pain from an inflamed bursa may develop suddenly or build up over time.

Types of bursitis

There are more than 150 bursae in your body. Bursitis can affect any of them. You’re most likely to develop bursitis in joints you use for repetitive motions or in places you put a lot of pressure, including your:

  • Shoulders (subacromial bursitis).
  • Elbows (olecranon bursitis — sometimes called miner’s elbow or barfly’s elbow).
  • Knees (prepatellar bursitis — housemaid’s knee).
  • Feet (especially near your heel, big toe or the ball of your foot).
  • Hips (iliopectineal or trochanteric bursitis).
  • Butt (ischial bursitis or weaver’s bottom).

Healthcare providers might refer to different types of bursitis with a specific name, but they’re all the same issue — swelling in and around a bursa.

Symptoms and Causes

What are bursitis symptoms?

The most common symptoms of bursitis are:

  • Pain, especially when you’re moving the affected part of your body.
  • A limited range of motion (how far you can move a body part).
  • Swelling.

If you have an infection that’s causing bursitis, you might have other symptoms, including:

  • Discoloration or redness on your skin.
  • A feeling of warmth or heat.
  • Fever.
  • Chills.

What causes bursitis?

Repetitive motions — like a pitcher throwing a baseball or lifting heavy boxes at work — commonly cause bursitis. Spending time in positions that put pressure on a specific part of your body (such as kneeling) can cause it, too.

It’s less common, but injuries and infections can cause bursitis, as well.

Activities that can lead to bursitis include:

  • Carpentry.
  • Gardening and raking.
  • Painting.
  • Poor posture or a poorly positioned joint or bone (due to different leg lengths, bone spurs, or arthritis in a joint).
  • Scrubbing.
  • Shoveling.
  • Playing sports like tennis, golf and baseball.
  • Playing an instrument.

Bursitis risk factors

Anyone can experience bursitis. People who are more likely to develop it include:

  • Athletes.
  • People who do physical work or manual labor.
  • Musicians.

People with certain health conditions have a higher risk of bursitis, including:

  • Arthritis (especially inflammatory arthritis like gout and psoriatic arthritis).
  • Diabetes.
  • Thyroid disease.

Diagnosis and Tests

How is bursitis diagnosed?

A healthcare provider will diagnose bursitis with a physical exam. They’ll ask you about your symptoms and examine the area around your affected body part. Tell your provider what you were doing before you noticed symptoms for the first time and if your job or a hobby requires you to do a repetitive motion.

What tests are done to diagnose bursitis?

Your provider might use some tests to diagnose bursitis, including:

  • X-rays to rule out other conditions.
  • Ultrasound or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) to detect swollen bursae.
  • A blood test to look for infection.
  • An aspiration (taking a sample of fluid) of your affected bursa if they think it’s infected.

Management and Treatment

What is the best way to treat bursitis?

Usually, rest is all you’ll need to treat bursitis. Avoid the activity or positions that irritated your bursa.

Taking a break from activities that put pressure on that part of your body will give it time to heal and prevent further injury. Ask your provider how long you’ll need to rest and avoid physical activities.

Your provider might suggest at-home treatments to reduce the pain and swelling while your bursa heals:

  • Elevate the injured area.
  • Take over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers like ibuprofen, naproxen or acetaminophen. Don’t take pain relievers for more than 10 days in a row without talking to your provider.
  • Ice the area. Apply a cold compress or ice packs wrapped in a thin towel to the area for 15 minutes at a time, a few times a day.
  • Apply heat (like a heating pad or a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel). Your provider might suggest alternating ice and heat.
  • Wear a splint, sling or brace to keep the injured area supported.

Most cases of bursitis heal on their own with rest and at-home treatments. But your provider may recommend additional treatment options, including:

  • Antibiotics if you have an infection.
  • Physical therapy to increase your range of motion.
  • Occupational therapy to learn how to move in ways that don’t stress the area.
  • Corticosteroid injections to decrease inflammation and pain.
  • Surgery to resect (remove) your bursa if other treatments aren’t effective and you’re still experiencing symptoms for six months or longer.

Prevention

How can I prevent bursitis?

The best way to prevent bursitis is to avoid overusing your body. To prevent bursitis:

  • Learn the proper posture or technique for sports or work activities.
  • Ease into new exercises or activities to avoid injury.
  • Avoid sitting or kneeling too long. These positions put a lot of pressure on your joints.
  • Use cushions and pads when you kneel or lean on your elbows.
  • Take breaks if you’re doing a repetitive task.

Outlook / Prognosis

How long does bursitis usually last?

Bursitis is usually short-lived. Most people heal within a few weeks. Follow your healthcare provider’s recommendations and don’t resume physical activities before your bursa has healed. Even if your pain improves, putting pressure or stress on your bursa before it’s completely healed increases your risk of reinjuring it.

Will I need to miss work or school while I’m recovering from bursitis?

If a repetitive motion that’s part of your job or studies causes bursitis, you might need to miss work or school while you’re recovering. Tell your provider about your usual routine and they’ll explain which parts of it you need to modify or take a break from while you’re resting your injured bursa.

What happens if bursitis is left untreated?

The longer you put pressure or additional stress on an injured bursa, the longer it’ll take to recover. It also increases your risk of chronic bursitis (bursitis that comes and goes in the same area).

Chronic bursitis

You can get bursitis more than once in the same area. When you have repeated bursitis episodes, it’s considered a chronic (long-lasting) condition. Bursitis may come and go. The same kind of irritation that caused the original inflammation can trigger a new episode. Repeated flare-ups may damage the bursa and reduce your mobility in that joint.

Living With

When should I see my healthcare provider?

Visit a healthcare provider if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Pain that interferes with your day-to-day activities.
  • Soreness that doesn’t get better in a few days with at-home treatment.
  • Bursitis that comes back (recurs).
  • Fever.
  • Discoloration or redness, swelling or a feeling of warmth in an injured area.

What questions should I ask my doctor?

  • Which type of bursitis do I have?
  • Will I need any tests?
  • Which treatments will I need?
  • How long do I need to rest?
  • When can I resume sports or other physical activities?

Additional Common Questions

What is the difference between bursitis and arthritis?

Arthritis and bursitis both affect your joints. Bursitis is usually a short-term issue that’s caused by overusing or putting excess stress on a bursa around one of your joints. It doesn’t create long-lasting damage unless you continue to stress the area.

Arthritis happens when cartilage in a joint breaks down over time. Arthritis is usually a long-term condition that you’ll need to manage for the rest of your life.

What is the difference between bursitis and tendinitis?

Bursitis and tendinitis are both painful conditions that happen when tissue in your body is irritated and swells. Bursitis is inflammation in one or more of your bursae.

Tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of a tendon. Tendons are pieces of connective tissue between muscles and bones. Tendinitis can be either acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term).

Doing a repetitive activity can cause both bursitis and tendinitis — like doing the same motion for a sport, or using the same part of your body for physical work frequently.

A note from Cleveland Clinic

Bursitis is painful, and it can be frustrating to learn your job or hobby you love caused an injury inside your body. The good news is that bursitis is usually preventable. The first step is figuring out which movements caused the irritation.

Your healthcare provider will help you find treatments that let your injured bursae heal and solutions to prevent bursitis in the future. Don’t rush your recovery — rest for as long as your provider suggests. It might be annoying to skip sports or an activity that you’re used to doing every day, but it’s important to give your body all the time it needs to heal.

CHEST CYST!

CHEST CYST!

Breast Cysts

Breast cysts are fluid-filled sacs that are usually noncancerous. Sometimes, you can feel them, especially if they become painful a few days before your menstrual cycle. In most cases, breast cysts don’t need treatment.

Overview

What is a breast cyst?

A breast cyst is a noncancerous (benign), fluid-filled sac in your breast. It occurs when fluid fills an empty milk duct. Some cysts are too small to feel, while others grow up to several inches — large enough for you to feel and even make you uncomfortable. Clusters of cysts can form in one breast or both. Breast cysts don’t increase your risk of developing breast cancer. They also don’t “turn into” anything more serious.

You’re more likely to get breast cysts if you’re:

  • Between 35 and 50 years old.
  • Premenopausal (still have a menstrual cycle).
  • Postmenopausal (no longer have a menstrual cycle) but take hormone therapy (HRT).

Types of breast cysts

There are three types of breast cysts:

  • Simple breast cyst: Filled entirely with fluid, simple cysts are always noncancerous. There’s no solid area in the cyst and the cyst wall is smooth. They make up about 90% of all breast cysts.
  • Complex breast cyst: This type of cyst, which has a mix of fluid and solid components, may be breast cancer in up to 20% of cases. Your provider typically biopsies the tissue, which means they remove part of your breast tissue and send it to a lab for analysis.
  • Complicated breast cyst: A complicated cyst is fluid-filled, but may have some cloudiness to the fluid, or the borders may be somewhat irregular. Sometimes, these are aspirated with a needle biopsy and then the tissue is sent for analysis. Other times, a provider may recommend a follow-up appointment in six months because there’s just a small chance (less than 2%) of it being cancerous.

Breast cysts can also be microcysts or macrocysts. Most breast tissue contains microcysts, which are very tiny and may be seen by ultrasound or even just under a microscope. Macrocysts are larger and can often be felt.

How common are breast cysts?

Breast cysts are common. About 7% of all women and people assigned female at birth will get a breast cyst at one point in their lives.

Symptoms and Causes

What are the symptoms of a breast cyst?

Some cysts are so small you can’t feel them. If you have a larger breast cyst, you may feel a lump that’s:

  • Soft or firm, although most are soft.
  • Round and smooth with distinct edges.
  • Painful or tender, especially before your menstrual cycle.
  • Larger just before your period starts and smaller after your period.
  • Easily movable under your skin (especially large cysts).

Breast cysts can be tiny — like a grain of rice or a pea. They can also be as large as a golf ball. Many people notice their cyst changes or becomes sore just before their period when hormone levels change. Others have nipple discharge or localized pain.

What causes breast cysts?

The exact cause of breast cysts is still unknown. Experts believe natural hormonal fluctuations may cause them to form. Breast cysts don’t usually develop after menopause when estrogen levels taper off. It’s also thought to be a part of the normal life cycle of a breast — when the milk-producing glandular tissue shrinks (involution) and fluid becomes trapped.

What are the complications of this condition?

There aren’t any life-threatening complications of breast cysts. They can become infected, or can become large, tense and painful and require aspiration.

If you have a high risk of breast cancer, your healthcare provider may recommend frequent monitoring or additional testing.

Diagnosis and Tests

How are breast cysts diagnosed?

Healthcare providers often find breast cysts during routine mammograms that screen for breast cancer. But you may also discover a larger breast cyst on your own. To diagnose a breast cyst, your provider may:

  • Perform a physical exam to feel the consistency of the lump and note its exact location.
  • Order an ultrasound of your breast. This will show if the lump is solid or filled with fluid.
  • Order a mammogram if you’re older than 30 or if you’re due for one.

If you’re at higher risk for cancer, your provider may also recommend a breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). This is the most sensitive test to detect breast cancer early in people who are high-risk.

How is a breast cyst aspiration performed?

During needle biopsy (also called an aspiration), a healthcare provider inserts a hollow needle into the cyst. The cyst will collapse as the fluid is withdrawn.

Management and Treatment

How are breast cysts treated?

In most cases, you don’t need treatment. Simple breast cysts don’t cause any harm and sometimes even go away on their own.

If the cyst is uncomfortable, your healthcare provider can drain the fluid from it with a needle. However, the fluid could come back. If it returns and continues to be painful, you may need surgery to remove it.

For complicated or complex breast cysts, you may need more frequent checkups to keep tabs on any changes.

Do breast cysts go away?

Often, breast cysts go away on their own. It’s important to contact a healthcare provider if you notice any changes in your breasts so they can examine you. Performing breast self-exams and attending annual well visits or mammograms go a long way in noticing these changes.

What can happen if a breast cyst is untreated?

A breast cyst may not require any treatment. If it’s very small and not causing you pain, your healthcare provider may decide to give it time to go away on its own. But if you’re uncomfortable or the cyst continues to grow, draining the fluid may be the best way to treat your symptoms.

Prevention

How do I prevent breast cysts?

You can’t prevent breast cysts. But regular self-exams and routine mammograms are good ways to manage overall breast health. Never assume a new lump is “just a cyst.” It’s always better to contact a healthcare provider for an exam.

Outlook / Prognosis

Can a breast cyst be cancerous?

It can be, but the chances are low. Simple cysts are benign and make up most cases of breast lumps (about 90%). Complicated cysts are also usually benign (less than 2% risk of cancer). A complex cyst is the highest chance of being cancerous at about 14% to 23%.

Do breast cysts increase your risk of breast cancer?

Breast cysts don’t increase your breast cancer risk.

Can a breast cyst turn into a tumor?

A benign breast cyst doesn’t change to a tumor. This is a common misconception.

Are breast cysts serious?

Breast cysts are very common in women and people assigned female at birth and usually aren’t a sign of a problem.

Living With

When should I worry about a breast cyst?

Most breast cysts are harmless and shouldn’t be a cause for worry. But it’s a good idea to have your healthcare provider check out any breast cysts to be sure.

What questions should I ask my healthcare provider about breast cysts?

If you’ve been diagnosed with a breast cyst, consider asking your provider:

  • What type of breast cyst is it (simple, complicated or complex)?
  • Does it need to be aspirated, biopsied or removed?
  • Do I need more frequent mammograms or ultrasounds?
  • Should I continue on hormone replacement therapy?

A note from Cleveland Clinic

Breast cysts are common, especially among people in their 40s. The good news is that these cysts are almost always harmless. Though cysts are common, always have your healthcare provider check out any new lumps or bumps you find. It’s always best to be cautious when it comes to your health.

In this article, we will explore why Elon Musk believes that a degree is not essential for success in his companies, what this means for the future of hiring practices, and how Musk’s approach could potentially reshape the talent recruitment landscape across industries.

Elon Musk’s Bold Statement: A Degree Is Not Necessary

In a recent interview, Elon Musk made it clear that he values practical skills and real-world experience over academic credentials when considering potential hires for his companies. This remark is not the first time Musk has expressed skepticism about the importance of formal education in the hiring process. Musk has previously stated that while degrees can be useful in certain cases, they are not a requirement for Tesla or SpaceX.

According to Musk, he is more interested in hiring individuals who possess exceptional problem-solving skillsinnovative thinking, and hands-on experience rather than simply checking the box of a university degree. He has repeatedly emphasized that a degree does not necessarily correlate with the kind of talent needed to work in fields that demand creativityengineering expertise, and cutting-edge technological knowledge.

Why Does Elon Musk Believe a Degree Isn’t Essential?

Musk’s views on the subject are based on his belief that a degree does not necessarily indicate someone’s capability to perform in a high-stakes, innovative environment. Instead, Musk favors candidates who can demonstrate that they are capable of learning quicklyadapting to new challenges, and applying practical knowledge in real-world situations.

In a world where technology and engineering fields are evolving at breakneck speeds, Musk’s stance makes sense. The rapid pace of change means that new tools, methods, and techniques often surpass traditional education systems. Many of the skills required for success in today’s job market can be self-taught through online courseshands-on experience, or self-driven projects, rather than by completing a four-year degree program.

Furthermore, Musk’s perspective is informed by his own career path. Elon Musk himself did not finish his PhD at Stanford University, choosing instead to pursue entrepreneurial ventures in the tech world. He is a prime example of someone who achieved great success without following the traditional path that many others are encouraged to take.

A Shift in the Hiring Landscape

Musk’s comment about not needing a degree is indicative of a larger shift occurring in the hiring world. For years, job seekers were told that a college degree was the ticket to success. However, as industries continue to evolve and emerging technologies disrupt traditional fields, employers like Elon Musk are starting to place a greater emphasis on skills rather than credentials.

This shift has also been seen at other leading tech companies, such as AppleGoogle, and IBM, where skills-based hiring is becoming more common. Companies are now prioritizing real-world experiencecoding abilities, and problem-solving skills over academic qualifications. This trend reflects a growing recognition that talent can come from non-traditional paths and that degrees are not always the best indicator of someone’s potential to contribute in a high-performing workplace.

The Changing Role of Formal Education

While Elon Musk has made it clear that a degree is not a requirement at Tesla and SpaceX, that doesn’t mean education is unimportant. For many industries, formal education still plays a crucial role in providing foundational knowledge. However, Musk’s comments suggest that a degree should not be seen as the only measure of a candidate’s abilities.

With the rise of alternative learning platforms, such as coding boot campsMOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), and technical certifications, people are no longer confined to the traditional route of higher education. These alternatives allow individuals to acquire the skills they need to succeed in specialized fields without the need for a four-year degree.

For Musk and many other forward-thinking employers, the key to success lies in aptitudecreativity, and the ability to innovate—qualities that can be developed through unconventional means.

The Future of Hiring and Talent Acquisition

Elon Musk’s approach to hiring is likely to become more widespread in the future. As industries continue to innovate and evolve, employers are beginning to recognize that the ability to adaptthink critically, and learn quickly is far more important than the letters next to someone’s name.

As artificial intelligenceautomation, and digital transformation continue to reshape industries, employers will place increasing value on practical skills and innovation over academic credentials. This could ultimately lead to a future where hiring processes are based on skills assessmentsportfolios, and real-world experience rather than the traditional focus on degrees and qualifications.

Elon Musk’s Hiring Philosophy May Shape the Future

Elon Musk‘s statement that he does not need a degree when recruiting employees is more than just a personal belief—it’s a sign of a larger shift in how companies view talent. As the world of work continues to change rapidly, Musk’s approach to hiring could be a model for other companies to follow, especially in industries where innovation and creativity are paramount.

By focusing on skillsexperience, and the ability to think criticallyMusk is leading the charge for a future where degrees are no longer the most important qualification in the workforce. This approach could open doors for a new wave of talent and provide more inclusive opportunities for individuals who may not have had the chance to attend traditional educational institutions.

Mr. Elon Musk is Shocked Because He 'Does Not Need a Degree' When Recruiting Employees

Ultimately, Elon Musk’s perspective serves as a powerful reminder that success in business and technology is not always about what you’ve learned in a classroom but about how you apply your knowledge in the real world.

Blake Lively responds after Justin Baldoni released 'unethical' on-set footage to try dispel harassment rumors

Footage has been released revealing an insight into a scene between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a legal complaint against Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and allegedly taking part in a ‘smear campaign’ against her. Earlier this month, the A Simple Favor star filed another lawsuit for harassment and retaliation alleging Baldoni engaged in inappropriate behavior on-set – including in one scene where their characters perform a slow dance.

Baldoni has denied all the claims and his company filed its own suit against Lively last week. Yesterday (January 21), his legal team publicly released footage from the scene in question.

In the latest suit, Lively alleges Baldoni ‘leaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear and down her neck as he said, ‘It smells so good.’

And that Baldoni was ‘caressing Lively with his mouth in a way that had nothing to do with their roles’.

Baldoni’s team has since released a clip – made up of three takes from the sequence – which they claim is the entirety of the footage shot for the scene, Variety reports.

In the footage, Lively and Baldoni can be seen slow-dancing and speaking to one another – the audio seemingly not being required for the filming of the scene with the pair discussing whether or not to ‘talk’ in the scene or get ‘lost’ in the moment.

Lively argues she thinks it’s ‘more romantic’ to be talking in the moment, with viewers left to question ‘what are they saying’.

“Well, we have no issue talking most of the time,” Baldoni responds, before noting viewers will ‘never know’ what they’re really chatting about in the scene given it’ll end up being played in ‘slow motion’.

Before Baldoni then goes on to mention Lively’s real-life partner, Ryan Reynolds and how they ‘talk all the time’.

Baldoni then reflects on his own relationship with his partner Emily noting they have ‘these moments’ where they end up staring at each other even ‘for five minutes’, which he jokes Lively would find it ‘terrifying’ and she says: “Yeah, I’d be like, ‘Oh no, I found a sociopath.'”

Baldoni calls Lively and Reynolds’ relationship ‘cute’ and she responds: “It’s more than cute.”

Baldoni makes a comment about his nose being ‘big’ when Lively says how ‘nosey’ the scene is, with Lively continuing: “Yes, I was hoping that we could address this. […] Just gotta shut down. Gotta call an insurance month and just deal with that.”

Another part of the scene then shows it heating up, the pair nose-to-nose and Baldoni leaning closer.

Baldoni asks: “Am I getting beard on you today?”

Lively responds she’s ‘probably getting spray tan’ on him, with Baldoni responding: “It smells good.”

Baldoni’s team stated alongside the footage: “Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism.”

However, Lively’s team has since responded to the footage, arguing it corroborates her account and is ‘damning’ of Baldoni.

The statement reads: “Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.”

Not only this, but Lively’s team has slammed the release of the footage as ‘an unethical attempt to manipulate the public’.

Trump gives cutting 5-word comment after Bishop asks him to 'have mercy' on LGBTQ+ people and migrants

The Bishop of Washington issued a ‘plea’ to Donald Trump to show ‘mercy’ to LGBTQ+ people and migrants.

Within just 24 hours into his presidency as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump wasted no time signing off on multiple executive orders, including a policy stating there are ‘only two genders’ alongside many orders blocking migrants from being able to enter – and remain in – the country.

During a service held on January 21 at the Washington National Cathedral following Trump’s inauguration, Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde asked the new president to show ‘mercy’ to LGBTQ+ people and migrants.

The bishop’s ‘plea’

Making ‘one final plea,’ Right Rev. Budde said: “Mr President, millions have put their trust in you. And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.

“I the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and Independent families, some who fear for their lives.

“And the people, the people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labour in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals – they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals.”

Trump’s response

Budde resolved by asking Trump once more to ‘have mercy on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away’ and for the president to ‘help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here’.

After the service, Trump branded it ‘not too exciting’ and he ‘didn’t think it was a good service,’ concluding: “They could do much better.”

The executive orders

Within the 25 executive orders listed on the White House website during the first 24 hours of Trump’s inauguration, the president signed off on an official policy ‘restoring biological truth to the federal government’

The policy recognizes ‘two sexes, male and female’ and states them as not being ‘changeable’ but ‘grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality’. It goes on to state federal agents are ordered to ‘enforce laws governing sex-based rights, protections, opportunities, and accommodations to protect men and women as biologically distinct sexes’, removing ‘all statements, policies, regulations, forms, communications, or other internal and external messages that promote or otherwise inculcate gender ideology, and shall cease issuing such statements, policies, regulations, forms, communications or other messages’.

Multiple other executive orders address how the country treats migrants and what it means to qualify as an American citizen, orders limiting birthright citizenship and ‘securing’ borders. It also includes ‘protecting American people’ against ‘millions of illegal aliens’ crossing the borders, alongside ‘protecting the US from foreign terrorists’ and ‘protecting the territorial integrity’ of the US.

Body language expert breaks down Trump and JD Vance's reactions to Bishop asking them to 'have mercy' on LGBTQ+ people

A body language expert has shared her thoughts on how Donald Trump and JD Vance really felt when bishop Mariann Budde asked them to ‘have mercy’ on members of the LGBTQ+ community as he regains power of the country.

The Right Rev Mariann Budde made her comments at a church service held Tuesday January 21, the day after Trump was sworn in on January 20, just a day after he signed an order officially declaring there are only two sexes.

The church service is a traditional part of inauguration day in the United States, and Trump was joined by his vice president, Vance, as Budde gave her sermon at St. John’s Church in Washington, DC.

Budde aimed her comments towards the new leaders of the United States as she said: “Let me make one final plea, Mr President. Millions have put their trust in you, and as you told the nation yesterday you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.

“In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy on the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and independent families, some who fear for their lives.”

Trump and Vance seemed to give little away as they listened to Budde, but body language expert Judi James has shared her insights after watching the scene and revealed the new president did in fact ‘leak out’ some feelings.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “Trump’s first roasting came early and from the unexpected source of a pulpit. As the bishop begged for mercy for immigrants, transgender and gay children etc there was a bristling among Trump’s group as a whole.

“Trump managed something close to a poker face but he managed to leak out feelings of impatience and brewing irritation via some of his subtler non-verbal signals.”

According to James, Trump begins by ‘implying he is going to keep his thoughts to himself via a cut-off gesture as he glances downward’.

She continued: “When the bishop talks about ‘people who pick crops and labour in poultry farms’ he taps his order of service in a metronomic ritual of impatience. His mouth falls slightly open and then his jaw slews to the right and he turns his torso to look to the side in the most emphatic reaction before looking down at his program again.”

When it comes to Vance, James claimed the vice president was ‘more open’ in his response to Budde.

She said: “When the children are mentioned, he glances at his wife in a more obvious gesture of rejection and his eyes come back to the front with a partial, wry smile. He turns to his wife twice then raises his brows in an expression of mock surprise before studying his program. At one point he tries to catch Trump’s eye in a tie-sign signal that suggests a desire to show unity and support.”

Budde has received a lot of praise for her decision to raise her concerns with Trump and Vance directly, with viewers online celebrating her ‘courage’.

Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend Vanessa shares cryptic post after KSI's controversial 'John Terry' comments at boxing event

Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend Vanessa shares cryptic post after KSI’s controversial ‘John Terry’ comments at boxing event

She’s posted a cryptic comment about ‘small minds’ and ‘biggest mouths’… I wonder what that’s about?

The ex-girlfriend of former footballer Wayne Bridge has posted a cryptic comment after KSI made some remarks over her alleged affair with John Terry.

The long and short of it is that Bridge, 44 – a former Chelsea and England footballer – had arranged to fight YouTuber KSI in the ring for a Misfits boxing event on 29 March.

During a Misfits event on 18 January, KSI, 31, stirred the pot by asking Bridge: “Aren’t you the guy who let John Terry smash your ex?”

This prompted an unhappy reaction from the former footballer, who asked KSI if he really wanted to go there.

“I’m pretty sure that’s what you’re known for,” KSI said to the crowd, before starting a chant about Bridge’s ex-girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel, who has always denied that she had an affair with Chelsea captain John Terry.

“Vanessa, woah, Vanessa, woah, she jumped on Terry’s d**k, made big boy feel sick.”

He got the crowd to join in on the chant and Bridge seemed up for a fight, saying ‘you want it, you can get it’, but yesterday (20 January) the former footballer hopped onto Instagram to say the fight was off and that KSI ‘crossed a line’.

Now, Perroncel has made a mysterious comment on her own Instagram, posting a quote to her stories which said: “The smallest minds often come with the biggest mouths.”

Quite who that’s supposed to be targeted at I’m sure I don’t know.

Bridge has a son, Jaydon Jean Claude Bridge, with Vanessa, and their relationship had lasted between 2005 and 2009.

In 2010 there were claims that Perroncel and Bridge’s Chelsea team-mate John Terry had an affair shortly after she had split up with Bridge, which she has always denied.

In a match between Manchester City (Bridge had transferred there in 2009) and Chelsea, Bridge refused to shake Terry’s hand prior to the game.

Bridge went on to marry The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford in 2014, and the couple have two children together.

In his own statement on the matter and the decision not to go ahead with the fight against KSI, Bridge wrote on Instagram: “I’m sure a lot of you have seen what happened on Saturday night at the Misfits Boxing event.

“Firstly, I think it’s important that I explain my reason for accepting the fight. I always like to challenge myself. This felt like a good opportunity to go up against an interesting opponent on a big stage.

“I have always loved boxing as part of my everyday training routine. I was fully prepared to train hard and have some fun. Of course, I expected to face some criticism, but I feel like what was said on Saturday crossed a line.

“These are deeply personal comments that affect mine and other families involved in the situation. I’m a family man first and my priority is protecting them.

“My opponent is someone that many children look up to around the world, including my kids. I hope one day he will look back on this differently. I personally don’t want to be involved in these exchanges.”

The former footballer said that there were still ‘exciting things coming up in 2025’ and thanked people for all their support.

He said: “The support has been overwhelming. I want my friends and family to know how special they are. Deep down I know this is the right thing to do.”
