While a YouTuber loved both vehicles, he said they came with their own issues secondhand

Buying a car is normally a pretty big and important decision, but a YouTuber has now issued some advice if you’re thinking of buying a second-hand Tesla.

YouTuber Samcrac thought he was getting one hell of a deal when he bought a used Tesla significantly cheaper than expected, but he wasn’t exactly right.

Speaking in a recent video, he explained that he bought the first-generation Tesla Model S for only $11,000 at an auction with 100,000 miles on it.

Sounds like quite the steal right?

Well, he explained that things took quite an annoying turn.

He said: “I bought this old Tesla Model S super cheap and I’ve owned it for 8 months now.

“In that time it broke, then it broke again, and again and today I’m going to fix it myself wishing I had just got a new one to begin with.”

Ouch. He went on to explain that he recently purchased another car, a secondhand Model S Plaid, and it came with similar issues.

You guessed it, it also kept breaking on him and needed repairs.

Speaking on his Model S repairs, it required he replace a battery fuse, front control arms, window regulator, trunk latch, and charge port door.

He was able to successfully fix some issues himself, but for others he needed to go to Tesla themselves which, as you can imagine, wasn’t cheap.

He also said in his experience, this proved to be a lengthy repair period and would often result in escalated costs of the initial quotation he was given.

In the end, he spent thousands of dollars on repair bills only months after the purchase.

Comparing the two second-hand cars, he called them ‘moneypits’ due to how much money he was having to shell out to get it fixed by a professional or do it himself.

Despite the issues he encountered, Samcrac said he still thought both vehicles were great cars. But he did have some wise words if you considered getting one that isn’t brand new.

Samcrac had to make many repairs himself (Samcrac/YouTube)

He said: “I still think they’re an amazing value as long as you can DIY fix them every time they break and as long as you don’t have some sort of catastrophic failure like a drive unit going out or like a high voltage battery failure.”

If you tend to rely on professionals to do your repairs, like most people do, a cheaper second-hand car might end up costing you more in the long run, so just be aware.

The owners had a number of Breaking Bad fans show up over the years

If you are looking – or even able – to afford your first home, then Walter White’s house from Breaking Bad would be a sweet choice.

The house in Albuquerque, which served as Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) abode in the TV series, went up for $4 million.

However, the property looks completely different now to how fans would have remembered it; firstly, there’s no pizza on the roof and secondly, the owners have put fences up and blockades out the front – and that’s for a good reason.

Before it became known as the Breaking Bad house, the building was Joanne Qunitana’s childhood home with her parents, Fran and Louis Padilla, having bought it back in 1973.

But one interaction changed everything for her family back in 2006, as Quintana explained to KOB 4: “My mother never ever answers the door, and she did.

“They introduced themselves and handed her a card and said, ‘We would like to use your house for a pilot.’ And she’s like, ‘You want to buy a bridge in Brooklyn? What are you talking about?’”

Just two weeks later, once they’d confirmed the project was legit, they opened their door to filming.

“We were, like anybody, it’s a once in a lifetime thing. You got to meet the actors, the actresses, you got to see how they set up the equipment and what it all takes,” she added.

The house only served as the exterior, while the inside shots were filmed on a proper set, but it offered Quintana and her family a window into Hollywood ‘magic’.

She recalled how her mom used to offer the crew cookies, adding: “Aaron Paul had to grunt and get angry to get into his character of Jesse. What was funny was Bryan Cranston could not eat not one cookie.

“Because he had cancer in the show, so he was losing weight. So he would pass, but everybody, all the directors, all the writers would eat the cookies.

“The last day of shooting, he takes a picture holding my mom’s biscotti because he finally got to eat her cookies.”

However, the magic soon wore off as Breaking Bad fans began to show up outside the house to take pictures, or attempt to throw a pizza up there themselves – which even garnered the attention of creator Vince Gilligan, who didn’t find it humorous at all.

Joanne Quintana said she's selling her family home, the famous house from Breaking Bad (KOB-TV)

“Let me tell you, there is nothing funny or original or cool about throwing pizzas on this lady’s roof. It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You’re not the first.” he said (via The Independent).

However, things became scary when a package addressed to Walter White was delivered to their door, which led them to install a fence and security cameras.

“My brothers said, that’s it, we’re done, fence is going up. That’s too close for comfort, the front door.” Quintana said.

Now, with 300 cars showing up at their home every day, according to Quintana, her family have decided to place the home on the market – which Zillow values at under $350,000, PEOPLE reports.

She added: “This was our family home from 1973, almost 52 years. So we’re going to walk away with just our memories. It’s time to move on. We’re done.

“There’s no reason to fight anymore.”

She rose to fame for her undeniable talent in front of the camera, earning acclaim for her performances in notable films. Behind the scenes, however, she was battling the relentless pressures of maintaining a leading-lady image.

From Stardom to Industry Battles

This icon emerged as a most versatile Hollywood actress in the 1960s, captivating audiences with unforgettable performances in films like “Midnight Cowboy” and “Once Is Not Enough.”

Her talent and determination earned her critical acclaim, including an Emmy win in 1974 for her role in “The Shape of Things.” Despite the accolades, she faced constant scrutiny from an industry obsessed with image and perfection.

In a 2015 interview, she reflected on her career and the significance of her achievements. When asked whether her Golden Globe, Emmy, and Academy Award nominations would carry more weight if she received them in today’s industry, she replied candidly, “No, I don’t think so.”

Still, the actress admitted that winning the Academy Award in 1975 for “Once Is Not Enough” would have been a career-defining moment. Instead, the honor went to Lee Grant for “Shampoo.” The “Sara” star laughed as she recalled Grant’s gracious words on Oscar night, “Well honey, I’m older.”

Amid her professional journey, this actress also found love with a young Michael Douglas. The pair first crossed paths while filming “Summertree,” and their connection was instant. She described him as a “handsome colt,” brimming with youthful charm.

Their romance blossomed into a seven-year relationship, one that was unconventional yet deeply meaningful. True to the free-spirited ethos of the 1970s, they even held a hippie wedding in her agent’s backyard — a simple ceremony without rings or formal vows.

Marriage, she explained, wasn’t necessary in their bohemian lifestyle. “At that time, it wasn’t the thing to do,” she said. Although their relationship eventually ended, it remained an integral chapter of her life.

While her personal life garnered attention, she also grappled with the immense pressure to maintain a flawless image. The entertainment industry’s unforgiving standards often overshadowed her immense talent, forcing her to confront insecurities about her weight.

A self-professed compulsive eater, she found herself struggling to meet Hollywood’s demands to be thin. Her love for pasta and indulgent meals at her mother’s Dallas restaurant, Mario’s, clashed with an industry that prioritized appearance.

Determined to reclaim her career and confidence, the actress enrolled in UCLA’s Optifast program, losing 37 pounds in just six weeks. The transformation not only revitalized her physically but also reshaped her perspective.

“Since losing all those pounds, I feel a lot better psychologically as well as physically,” she once said. However, the experience also exposed the harsh realities of the industry.

“I’ve been told dozens of times they want me to be thin for my roles. The people who count in this business demand it. Producers, and the public, I guess, want their actresses to have the siren, sexy look,” she remarked.

The Hollywood star acknowledged that being heavier had cost her roles, noting, “No actress ever lost a role because she was too thin.” Her humor remained intact, though, as she joked about the extremes of Hollywood’s beauty standards, calling herself Bulbous Brenda during her heavier days and Reedy Wilma after her weight loss.

Though the challenges were taxing, she eventually found peace in prioritizing her well-being and embracing her individuality. As the years passed, she adopted a more reflective outlook, no longer feeling the need to prove herself to anyone.

Instead, she embraced the wisdom and grace that came with age, inspiring fans and earning admiration for her timeless beauty and confidence in her 80s.

This next chapter of her life would demonstrate that her legacy was far from over, as she continued to captivate and inspire with every passing year.

Embracing Life with Confidence and Grace

After decades of navigating the highs and lows of the entertainment industry, Brenda Vaccaro reached a point where she no longer felt the need to prove herself. Reflecting on her career, she acknowledged that while opportunities for actresses her age were scarce, she had made her mark.

“If you say my name, people will know who I am and what I do,” she said, addressing the respect she had earned over the years. She humorously compared competing for roles at her age to “a bunch of Italian widows sitting in chairs in a room,” all leaping at the chance when a job became available.

While she admitted she would still love to work, she added with characteristic grace, “If it comes, that’s fine. If it doesn’t, I’m marching on.” Vaccaro’s confidence extends beyond her career and into her views on aging.

The actress has a refreshingly youthful mindset, rejecting the notion of feeling her years. “I don’t think of age, I just don’t,” she shared. “And I sit up in bed after I have a birthday and I go, ‘But I feel 15.'” The passage of time puzzled her occasionally, but she accepted it with humor, asking herself, “Where did it go? Did it really go, all those years?”

However, while she embraces her youthful spirit, Vaccaro doesn’t shy away from the realities of aging. She speaks candidly about the inevitable losses and changes that come with time. “I feel as life changes and you get older there are two things you really have to accept. One is loss, and the other is changes,” she said.

The “Midnight Cowboy” star acknowledged the heartbreak of losing loved ones and the challenges of physical changes like arthritis or needing a hip replacement. But she approaches these moments with dignity, focusing on acceptance. “[…] These things have to be accepted with grace,” she emphasized.

Despite life’s difficulties, the actress, who just turned 85, radiates positivity. Laughing about how far she had come, she once remarked, “I’m having such a good time.” In 2021, she posted a stunning photo of herself on Instagram, captivating fans and followers alike.

“Ageless beauty 🙌,” one person commented in reaction to the post. “Who’s that classy, elegant, amazing woman???” another shared. A third wrote, “So beautiful 😮😍.”

Brenda Vaccaro’s journey is a testament to her resilience, humor, and self-acceptance. Despite the challenges she has faced over the years in a demanding industry, she refused to let anything define her or diminish her outlook on life, proving that confidence and beauty are timeless qualities.

John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1988

In September 1988, the son of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy Jr., was crowned People’s Sexiest Man Alive. His dear friend Steven M. Gillion later revealed that he regarded this title as a “badge of honor.”

Then a 27-year-old Law student at New York University, Kennedy was not shy to show off his physique. According to Gillion, he spent much of his time in the gym building up his body. “He had all the physical attributes of a body builder,” said the pal.

Although he was not part of show business, Kennedy competed with the likes of Hollywood hunk, Patrick Swayze. The actor earned the title of Sexiest Man Alive in 1991.

His co-star Demi Moore once described him as a kind kind-hearted and gentle individual with a very “rugged, animalistic physique.” Meanwhile, another co-star, Kelly Lynch added, “He’s strong, but he has grace and agility. He’s not just this big thug throwing his muscles around out there.”

Apart from women, men also find the macho Texas native attractive. Director Roland Joffe said, “He has the sexiness of a person who is from the tip of the toenail to the top of the head involved in all the passions and fires and energies and fears that life throws up.”

Keanu Reeves in 1994

Swayze was considered a heartthrob of the ’90s. He was not alone, as fellow actor Keanu Reeves also held the title for that decade. However, People magazine did not award a title in 1994. It wasn’t until years later that its editorial director, Jess Cagle, turned things around.

They also shared how loyal the two-time Academy Award winner is. His “ER” co-star, Laura Innes, said, “The rap on George is that he’s this rake, this guy’s guy. That’s true, but he is also a dear, loyal friend who would do anything for you. It’s almost like being a family member.”

The New Trend: Hot Rodent Boyfriends

Today, beauty standards for men have taken a peculiar turn. A new social media trend suggests that men whose facial features resemble those of animals are more attractive.

The latest one of them is the “Hot rodent boyfriend.” This term is used to describe men whose features are likened to rodents. Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager candidly discussed this trend on “Today with Hoda & Jenna” in June 2024.

X users have embraced this trend. “Men are either eagle handsome, bear handsome, dog handsome, or reptilian handsome,” claimed one X user. “Stewart little if he was human and hot,” said another alongside images of actor Mike Faist who recently starred in the sports film, “Challengers.”

Another stated, that the supposed “golden retriever” Travis Kelce type of boyfriends are no longer the standard. These men have been replaced by good-looking rodent boyfriends. “[…] We are now entering rat boy summer, if you look rodent like you’re in luck the girlies want you!” the user commented.

Jeremy Allen White

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jeremy Allen White has also been closely associated with the hot rodent boyfriend aesthetic by social media users.

Julia Roberts Gave Birth to Twins at 37 — Pics of Her ‘Beautiful’ Teens Who Look like Her Husband

  • Julia Roberts gave birth to twins at 37.
  • The mom of three admitted that her kids look like her husband, Danny Moder.
  • Moder often shares their kids’ pictures online, where fans call them beautiful.

Julia Roberts is proud of her marriage and the happiness she and Danny Moder have found together. The two strive to keep their marriage private and their kids away from the limelight. Julia and Danny have three kids: twins Phinnaeus and Hazel Moder, 18, and Henry Moder, 16.

At 37, Julia gave birth to Phinneaus and Hazel, who both entered this world healthy. According to a source, the twins arrived at around 3 a.m. in November 2004 at a Los Angeles hospital. On the other hand, Henry was born on June 18, 2007.

On becoming a mother in her late 30s, Julia said her kids chose her to be her steward and shepherd in life when she was ready.

The mom of three fears at times that she will mess up as a parent, but she believes her kids came into her life at a moment when she was ready to be their mother. When her kids were young, the actress made sure to enjoy time with them, playfully tease, and share laughter.

She once hilariously revealed that Henry thought that when people were talking about the twins in their family, they were referring to him and his siblings instead of just Phinnaeus and Hazel.

Julia does not only have fun with her kids, but she does her best to protect them from the harms of fame. When the kids were younger, they knew that their mom was famous but never understood the true sense of that. Her kids would mostly see tabloid headlines when they were in stores, and the actress found such moments uncomfortable.

The tabloid headlines, which weren’t true, still hurt Julia’s feelings, especially when they speculated that her marriage was ending when she was happily married and raising her kids. Due to these challenges, Julia and Danny wanted to raise their kids out of the public eye, so they moved from Los Angeles.

Julia and Danny have a ranch in New Mexico, but they used to stay in Los Angeles, where they worked. However, as per a friend, the two didn’t want their kids to grow up in the show business culture of Los Angeles. The couple later moved to San Fransisco for their children. There, Phinnaeus, Henry, and Hazel were not viewed as movie star kids, and no one cared who their mother was.

As a protective mom, the “Ocean’s Eleven” star revealed in 2019 that she has banned her kids from using social media to limit their exposure to the pressures of the modern world.

The actress limited what they watch on TV and introduced family meetings. She took these steps because kids today easily have the world in their hands, and with its pressures and resources, it can be misused. Julia believes that as a parent, it’s her job to keep her kids off social media because they don’t need that at the moment.

Aside from protecting her kids, Julia makes sure to give them unconditional love so that they can handle challenges in today’s world. She also helps her kids navigate the issues of today.

When Hazel was going through a hard time and had lost hope, her mom took that opportunity to make her feel that she still had a voice. She took Hazel to her first Women’s March in Washington to show her that she had a place in this world where she could still uphold what she believed in.

According to the 56-year-old mother, Hazel is “one of a kind.” When the teen attended the 74th Cannes Film Festival in 2021 with her dad, she opted for a simple look and even shrugged off her mother’s suggestion to wear eyeliner. Hazel was just happy to participate in the event with her father.

However, Hazel also has a penchant for her mom’s prized possessions. Julia revealed that her daughter once went through her closet looking for a prom dress, and she tried out the actress’ black and white Valentino gown— the one she wore when she won an Academy Award in 2001. Hazel found the dress to be too big for her, but Julia remembers how stunning her daughter looked in it.

Julia has done a lot to love, protect, and be there for her kids. Still, she says there is no mastering mothering. As per the actress, the best way to navigate motherhood is to know that as a mom, you cannot do everything, so you should not feel ashamed or fearful about asking for help.

The “Pretty Woman” star admitted in 2022 that she felt lightheaded when her twins were about to go to college. She was also fascinated and excited for them because she never went to college, and her kids were going to experience it.

Julia always thinks that her kids look like her, but when her husband comes home from work, and she sees him, it dawns on her that her children look like Danny. The dad of three sometimes shares their kids’ photos online, which receive many comments from their fans.

Fans pointed out that Julia and Danny had attractive kids when the 54-year-old shared a picture of Hazel posing next to Phinnaeus. “They’re so beautiful,” a fan agreed. Fans also noted that the couple has a great family.

Other fans pointed out that Julia and Danny’s kids looked like their father. A fan said Hazel “looks like her dad,” and others agreed that Danny and his daughter resemble each other. Most people said the couple’s three children favor Danny in their adorable appearance.

Julia Roberts and Danny Moder have been married for 21 years and are happy in their union, raising their kids and protecting them from the burdens of today’s world. The two cherish their children, whom they have gone to great lengths to shield from the life of show business.

Woman who survived horror shark attack reveals terrifying moment she thought she was ‘about to die’

The shark had bitten the woman so deep it not only severed an artery, but also left two teeth in her tibia bone

A woman who survived a horrifying shark attack has spoken about the moment she thought she was going to die.

Freediver Anika Craney had been swimming in the water along the Queensland coast in Australia when her terrifying ordeal began.

Anika had been on a private boat named Barefoot – with a documentary film crew – when she took one of the newest member’s of the team out into the waters near Fitzroy Island.

But as soon as she entered the ocean, Anika knew something was off.

“The visibility was really murky, we barely saw little fish beyond our arm’s length,” she told Channel 4.

“I popped my head up and said ‘I’m not really comfortable, I think we should head back to the boat.'”

Anika said she was swimming back to the boat when she saw a shark on the sandy floor.

She had been around sharks before, but there was something about this particular shark that made her feel uncomfortable.

“I noticed as it was swimming towards me, its behaviour was not comfortable to me,” she said.

“I looked the shark in the eye and saw it was looking straight at me.”

Anika recalled the terrifying experience (Channel 4)

Anika said she moved her fins in front of her body to prepare herself, but she could never have imagined the next few moments.

“I felt the impact, it hit me so fast, I didn’t even quite realise what had happened,” she recalled.

“I thought it had just hit me with its head so my instant reaction was to kick it off.

“It wasn’t until I saw the blood pooling around me that I realised it had bitten me.”

Anika explained the moment she thought she was going to die, adding: “I started screaming for help, not just because I was losing a lot of blood but because the shark might come back and bite me again, and if it did I might not survive this.

“… I realised my life was in danger and if I wanted to survive this, I had to give it everything I had to get out of the water.

“… A really loud part of me was thinking the shark was going to come up underneath me and bite me again and that loud part of me thought ‘you’re about to die.'”

Anika managed to swim closer to shore where two women handed her a paddle board to prop her leg up.

She began kicking for her life until she reached the sand, where onlookers rushed to help her.

Losing a lot of blood, Anika was rushed to hospital via a helicopter where she was given urgent medical attention.

“The shark bit the lower part of my left leg, all the way to the bone. It left a couple of teeth in my tibia and on the way it severed an artery,” Anika recalled.

“The wound took two months to heal over.”

Anika explained that she returned to the water as soon as she could and also chose to swim with sharks again.

Woman who bought £1 house in Italy shares how much it really costs to live there

Woman who bought £1 house in Italy shares how much it really costs to live there

Surprise, surprise, you can’t just buy a house for a quid without a few problems

You might have heard of certain parts of the world where you can buy a house for just £1, which sounds like an absolute bargain.

Most of the time buying a house is really f**king expensive and in many places prices are rising at a higher rate than wage growth, meaning that your ability to afford a place can’t catch up to how expensive it is.

There are a few solutions around this including taking on a gargantuan amount of debt, buying with someone else and splitting the gargantuan amount of debt into two large amounts of debt, or buying a shared ownership where you only get half the house along with a moderate amount of debt and have to pay rent on the other half.

If none of those options sounds particularly appealing then you might consider moving to Italy and buying a house for less than the price of a cup of coffee, a bit like Meredith Tabbone who bought a home in Sambuca di Sicilia for just one Euro, which depending on exchange rates is basically one pound.

Her £1 house actually cost a lot more to buy, and much more to renovate (YouTube/CNBC Make It)

Her £1 house actually cost a lot more to buy, and much more to renovate (YouTube/CNBC Make It)

The reason why some of these houses are so cheap is because there are some towns and villages in Italy where people have moved out and nobody’s moved in.

These places, often in beautiful locations, don’t have a lot of work for younger generations so they move to cities and the towns are left with crumbling, older properties until there might be pretty much nobody left.

Buying one of these incredibly cheap houses comes with a catch, you’ll be expected to spend your own money doing it up and you’re on the clock to get it all done.

Speaking to CNBC, US woman Meredith explained that she could trace her family history back to Sambuca di Sicilia and decided the offer was too good to pass up.

The house needed a lot of work but now it's a modern holiday home with its own sauna (YouTube/CNBC Make It)

The house needed a lot of work but now it’s a modern holiday home with its own sauna (YouTube/CNBC Make It)

While people can spend thousands just to get these homes in a decent condition, the 45-year-old spent a total of $475,000 (£383,000) on turning it into a real holiday home complete with four bedrooms, a modern kitchen, dining room, library, living room and a sauna. What a few years ago was an old house in a dwindling town is now a modern home that at least has people living in it for part of the year.

If you’re thinking of buying one of these £1 houses then it’s going to cost you much more than that, Meredith spent about €5,900 (£4,890) to actually acquire the place as there’s all sorts of fees and auctions of the properties can drive up the bids.

When she first got there the place was ‘dire at best’ with no electricity or running water, a roof containing the very dangerous material asbestos and ‘probably two feet of pigeon poop on the floor’.

Charming.

She had originally planned to spend about €40,000 (£33,000) on renovations but later also bought the house next door and widened the scope of the project, meaning costs shot up.

Another couple who undertook a similar project said they had ‘no regrets’ about putting it all together, though they were surprised at first by how much they’d have to spend.

At least 14 people died when a pickup truck was driven into a crowd in the US city

A British man is among those who were killed in an attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day.

In the first hours of 2025, a pickup truck was driven through crowds of people celebrating the incoming year, with initial projections suggesting that at least 10 people had died and over 30 had been injured.

At time of writing, there are now at least 14 people who have died and 35 injured, and among the dead is 31-year-old Briton Edward Pettifer.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that they were supporting the family of the Chelsea man, who a New Orleans coroner said had died from ‘blunt force injuries’.

The Met Police and the Foreign Office are helping the family through this difficult time, including with the arrangements to return Edward’s body to the UK.

In a statement, Edward’s family said: “The entire family are devastated at the tragic news of Ed‘s death in New Orleans. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and a friend to so many.

“We will all miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with the other families who have lost their family members due to this terrible attack.

“We request that we can grieve the loss of Ed as a family in private. Thank you.”

The attack took place at around 3:15am local time on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street and of the identified victims, the youngest is aged 18 and the oldest is 63.

The suspect in the attack is 42-year-old Texas resident Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US citizen and army veteran, who allegedly drove the pickup truck into a crowd of revellers celebrating the New Year before getting out and firing a gun.

He was then shot dead by police, with the FBI saying that a search of his car discovered an Islamic State flag while explosive devices were recovered nearby.

Investigators believe that the man acted alone in committing a ‘premeditated and evil act’.

US president Joe Biden said that the attacker had posted a video indicating he had been inspired by Islamic State, saying he had been briefed by the FBI that videos had been uploaded ‘mere hours before the attack’.

British prime minister Sir Keir Starmer said: “The shockingly violent attack in New Orleans is horrific. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, the emergency responders and the people of the United States at this tragic time.”

Some of the people who were hospitalised by the New Orleans attack have since been discharged, but others remain in intensive care and continue to receive treatment.

Clarke spoke about feeling ’empowered’ over performing the nude scene herself

Emilia Clarke explained why she didn’t want to use a body double during a particular Game of Thrones scene in season six.

Clarke played Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, who starts the show as a exiled princess who is then married to Dothraki warlord, Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) to pay for an army by her brother Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd), before becoming the ‘Mother of Dragons’ upon the birth of her three dragons.

The HBO show ran for eight seasons between 2011 and 2019, and over the years, Clarke has spoken about the challenges of filming some of the nude scenes in the show.

In fact, in an interview on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast in 2019, she said she didn’t even know about the nudity and sex scenes when she accepted the part.

“I took the job and then they sent me the scripts and I was reading them, and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s the catch!'” she said.

“But I’d come fresh from drama school and I approached it as a job: if it’s in the script then it’s clearly needed. This is what this is and I’m going to make sense of it and that’s what I’m going to do and everything’s going to be cool.

“… I’d been on a film set twice before then, and I’m now on a film set completely naked with all of these people, and I don’t know what I’m meant to do, and I don’t know what’s expected of me, and I don’t know what you want, and I don’t know what I want.

“Regardless of there being nudity or not, I would have spent that first season thinking I’m not worthy of requiring anything. I’m not worthy of needing anything at all.”

Meanwhile, speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in 2016, Clarke explained why she decided not to use a body double for a fully nude scene in the sixth season of the show.

Speaking about a scene in which Daenerys emerges from a burning building with her clothes completely charred away after killing all the Dothraki Khals, she said: “I did it before in season one and people like to talk about it.

“So I just wanted to come out and do an empowered scene, which wasn’t sexual. It was naked, but it was strong.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she later added: “I’d like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3.

“That was awhile ago. It’s now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I’m just feeling genuinely happy I said ‘Yes.’ “That ain’t no body double!”

Reason Why So Many Celebrities Wear Red Glasses Now

Reason Why So Many Celebrities Wear Red Glasses Now

There's a special reason that so many celebrities are wearing red-tinted glasses. There’s a special reason that so many celebrities are wearing red-tinted glasses.

Have you noticed the recent surge in celebrities sporting red-tinted glasses?

If so, you’re not alone. This phenomenon isn’t merely a coincidental fashion choice – there’s more to these glasses than meets the eye.

Gone are the days when glasses were viewed as a cumbersome necessity.

Today, they have become a chic accessory, with tinted lenses gaining particular popularity.

Among these, red-tinted lenses have emerged as the must-have option for those looking to elevate their style.

A video shared by @sleeptints on Instagram shed light on the practical benefits of these red-tinted glasses, stating that they are ‘an incredible tool for improving sleep and recovery.’

The explanation highlights how these lenses block specific wavelengths of light -blue, green, and ultraviolet – that disrupt the body’s production of melatonin. This hormone is crucial for regulating sleep cycles.

The video further explains that by wearing these glasses, individuals can achieve deeper, more restorative sleep.

This type of rest aids the body in repairing muscle tissue, lowering cortisol levels, and recharging energy for the following day. For many, the natural relaxation these glasses provide is invaluable.

Oliver Omura, founder of Specs Collective, offers a different perspective, suggesting that the trend is also fueled by aesthetic reasons.

He told The Wall Street Journal: “I think it helps for older gentlemen who want to maybe hide some of their eyes that make them appear a little older.”

This may explain why stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Elton John, known for their iconic eyewear, have embraced the look.

However, the trend isn’t limited to aging celebrities. Younger stars such as Selena Gomez and Drake have also been seen sporting red lenses.

Drake even referenced them in his music, rapping: “Got the rose pink-tinted lenses, it’s a Wednesday,” which undoubtedly boosted their cool factor.

Ashley Bezamat, owner of Dom Vetro, told Tyla he sees the trend as a way for older individuals to refresh their appearance, while Bob Hillman of Fabulous Fanny’s points out the practical benefits of tinted lenses.

Pilots, for instance, often favor green or grey lenses for their ability to enhance visual clarity and reduce scattered blue and violet light.

Whether it’s for better sleep, improved sight quality, or simply a fashion statement, red-tinted glasses are proving to be a versatile accessory.

By donning them, you’ll join a stylish group of A-listers who prioritize both form and function.
