An emotional discovery using Google Maps brought closure to the two-year-old case of Paulette Landrieux, who vanished from her home.

The case involved 83-year-old Landrieux, an Alzheimer’s patient from Andenne, Belgium, who disappeared in November 2020.

Her husband and caregiver, Marcel Taret, described the heartbreaking circumstances of her disappearance.

Podcaster MrBallen shared the story in a recent video, explaining: “Paulette needed help remembering to eat or to take her medications on time. Sometimes she would just wander off without telling Marcel, and he would have to go and corral her and bring her back home.”

On the day Paulette went missing, Marcel had briefly stepped away to hang clothes on a line. When he returned, she was gone.

He had left her in front of the television with lunch, but this turned out to be the last time he saw her alive.

Despite a prompt response from authorities, including a search-and-rescue helicopter, Paulette could not be located.

Two years later, a neighbor browsing Google Maps made a startling discovery.

In a street view image captured outside Paulette and Marcel’s home, Paulette could be seen walking away, while Marcel was visible in the background hanging laundry.

The neighbor alerted investigators, who used the image to reconstruct Paulette’s path.

According to MrBallen: “Across the street was a steep hill that led down to a thick bramble bush.” Tragically, Paulette’s body was found in that bush.

“When that huge search for her was going on, very likely she was just trapped down there,” the podcaster explained.

“She didn’t understand what was going on, couldn’t necessarily yell up to communicate with anybody, and so she stayed down there and died.”

The case has sparked discussions online, with one viewer commenting: “Far as the first story goes, instant anxiety.

“I’m 32, almost been married 10 years, if my wife up and vanished I’d be afraid I wouldn’t last long. She does more for me than she will ever know every single day.”

Another remarked on the unusual circumstances: “The one thing that confuses me is how for nearly TWO YEARS nobody at the neighboring house realized there was a dead body in their yard. That’s insane.”

The story featured as part of a video on ‘disturbing stories’ shared by MrBallen, which included two other unsettling accounts.

Not a bad career, this music business

If you had to rustle up a top 10 list of the richest musicians in the world, then you’d probably be able to get some of the names right at least.

Being some of the richest music stars in the world and being incredibly famous tend to go hand in hand, and there are certain performers whose level of fame is simply stratospheric.

You’d expect someone like Sir Paul McCartney to be incredibly wealthy, considering he was in The Beatles of all bands and has enjoyed a very good career even since then.

It’d come as no surprise to know that Madonna would be up there among the richest stars either, but there’s another name among that number that you probably haven’t heard of.

Herb Alpert.

If you don’t know who he is, he’s one of the wealthiest musicians of all time, has picked up a Tony Award, eight Grammys, and to top it all off, has sold over 72 million records worldwide.

Releasing a grand total of 28 albums, 14 of which went platinum, probably has something to do with his immense fortune.

According to Grey Journal, his net worth is estimated to be somewhere in the region of $850 million (£685 million), some of which comes from his incredibly successful career in jazz music and some of which comes from setting up his own record company.

There’s a hell of a lot of money flowing through the music industry, and if you want a bigger piece of the pie, then you’d best be one of the people responsible for selling the records and not just someone who makes the music that goes on them.

Along with his friend Jerry Moss, Herb Alpert set up A&M Records in 1962 and over the next couple of decades, they signed up a hell of a lot of artists.

In 1977, they even signed up the Sex Pistols in a big stunt outside Buckingham Palace after the band had been dropped by EMI, though the actual paperwork had been done the day before and it was only about a week before A&M dropped the punk band themselves.

Even though they sold the record label in 1989 for $500 million (and remember this was back when that was a lot more money), Alpert and Moss still managed it for the next four years and in 1998 sued the buyer PolyGram for breaking an integrity clause which eventually led to a $200 million payout.

So there you go boys and girls, if you want to make it in the music business and amass an incredible amount of wealth, then make like Herb Alpert and release 28 very successful albums while founding a record label that you can then sell for vast amounts.

That ought to be easy, shouldn’t it?

Doctors have spoken out about the practice

Experts have issued warnings about the rise of an online trend referred to as ‘gooning’.

If you don’t know what that is, I offer my sincerest congratulations.

If you do, you likely come from one of two camps – those who operate in terminally online spaces and found out about this trend against their will, or those who goon.

If you are the former, it will not shock you to find that medical experts have issued warnings against it.

What is gooning?

For those who don’t know what it is, this is your last chance to continue living life free from the burden of this knowledge.

‘Gooning’ is the term for when people masturbate for hours, even days on end, entering a state of sexual euphoria.

In some cases this can lead to a ‘gooning’ facial expression, with crossed eyes, drooling, or dead-eyed expressions all characteristic of this.

The term has exploded in the last year, with the Daily Mail reporting that, in the last five years, interest has increased by 800 percent.

The Daily Mail spoke to Dr Richard Viney, a consultant urological surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, who linked the popularity of the practice to sex practices that became popular in the 60s.

He went on to say: “The concept of trying to prolong the sexual act and enhance the experience as much as possible is an understandable holy grail.

“Relying heavily on pornography can desensitise the individual to real sexual encounters increasing the risk of erectile dysfunction when engaging in sex with a partner.

“A man can find he needs pornography to get aroused rather than on the presence and touch of his partner.

“Difficulties with erections and sexual performance can then lead to performance anxiety making the sexual issues more embedded”.

What are the dangers of gooning?

The Daily Mail also spoke to Dr Paula Hall, from the not-for-profit Pivotal Recovery, who is experienced in working with those with a pornography addiction.

She warned that gooning could lead to a problematic relationship with pornography.

She said: “If we keep repeating any behaviour it gets more habituated.

“Your brain is undoubtedly becoming more habituated to that behaviour and the more often it’s repeated, the more likely you are to struggle to stop and enjoy other activities.

“We know that people with compulsive sexual behaviours tend to struggle with erectile dysfunction”.

“There’s lots of evidence that, over time, compulsive pornography use begins to have a negative impact on other areas of life including relationships, work, friendships, finance and general mental health and wellbeing.

“Many people start with online porn but then progress to chat, webcam, adult hook up sites and offline real-life encounters.”

Woman issues warning after routine eye test led to brain tumor diagnosis

The woman says she didn’t experience any symptoms prior to her diagnosis

A British woman was in for the shock of her life when she learned that she had a serious brain tumor.

In 2023, 45-year-old Gemma Hillier, was told the life-changing news. This would have proven to be a particularly difficult blow as she had lost her father, 75, in July 2018 after he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma – an aggressive type of brain tumor.

What was most peculiar about Hillier finding out that she had a brain tumor was that the Northampton, UK, woman only went in for a routine eye-test at the opticians.

Concerns were raised when she struggled to read any of the letters in front of her, however.

Her optician then referred her to an eye clinic after further testing, and in November 2023, Gemma had an MRI scan.

Gemma Hillier struggled to identify any words in her eye exam and sparked concerns(SWNS)

The results showed that she had a brain tumor, and in February 2024, Gemma had surgery at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, to remove what they could.

The surgery was a success after surgeons removed 90% of the tumor.

Hillier is thankful the operation was a success but still can’t believe her good fortune, all things considered.

She said: “It is hard to believe that I am living with a brain tumor. They said that I could have been living with it for years.

“I could have had it when my dad had his.

“I am lucky in some aspects – I do have a brain tumor but I can live with it.”

She is now issuing warnings as she didn’t experience any symptoms until she went in for a check-up at her local optician.

After that, she began to get headaches and while experts attempted to figure out what was wrong with her, they got progressively worse.

Now Hillier and her doctors monitor the tumor after 90 percent of it was removed (SWNS)

Hillier was told her tumor was a grade 2 meningioma and she and her doctors regularly monitor it. She has since issued warning to people to take any symptoms they experience seriously.

She said: “My tumor is grade 2 and so I’m currently having regular scans to check its growth.

“I’ve been told by my surgeon that if it does grow, I’ll need radiotherapy. The past year has been tough both physically and mentally.

“But I know I’m one of the lucky ones. It could have been so much worse- just like it was for my dad.”

According to The Brain Tumor Charity, meningiomas are relatively common, accounting for 27% of all brain tumors diagnosed.

Symptoms can include headaches, vision changes, hearing loss, and more. Treatment often depends on the grade and behavior of the tumor, but can range from active monitoring to surgery and radiotherapy.

Littler faces his second World Championship final in a row

After a number of sensational (and sometimes surprising) matches, it all comes down to tonight (3 January).

Luke Littler is set to face Michael van Gerwen in the final of the World Darts Championship.

It marks the teen’s second consecutive year in the final after he was defeated by Luke Humphries in his debut fight for the title.

But despite that loss, the Nuke has already raked in a load of cash since becoming a household name at the Championship last year.

And if he does win the world title tonight, he’ll make an absolutely incredible amount of money to top it off.

Littler secured his place in the final after beating Stephen Bunting by a 6-1 scoreline last night. And van Gerwen got there after beating Chris Dobey, also by 6-1 in sets, in his semi-final just before.

Both of them will face off to take the hefty £500,000 winner’s prize. But if they come in second place, they certainly won’t be leaving empty handed as the runner-up receives a cool £200,000.

Getting into the nitty gritty of how the darts world works, all prize money earned at the World Championship is added to a player’s ranking on the two-year Order of Merit system.

So, for example, Michael Smith came into this year’s tournament sitting as the number two player in the world. However, he ‘lost’ the prize money he was defending from bagging the title two years ago.

Smith would’ve previously automatically qualified for the majority of major tournaments, but thanks to a shock second round defeat to Kevin Doets, he’s now outside of the top 16 as 2025 kicks off.

PDC pro Matthew Edgar previously claimed players don’t actually get their full prize money when the World Championship comes to an end.

This is as the players receive remittance notices and deductions because they are technically self-employed contractors, and not directly employed by PDC.

Edgar added in a TikTok video: “Two per cent [of the prize money] is your PDC levy – that comes off everything before you even get it, and comes from playing on the Challenge Tour to being world champion.

“We all pay two per cent on our prize money before we even get it. Not only that, you’ve got to consider your membership fees. £500 is your membership, which goes before you even get it. That’s a once a year fee, and your DRA fee as well.

“I’ve got to deduct travel, my hotel and any other costs with that. Then, the money that is left is open to tax.”

The PDC World Championship final takes place at 7:30pm tonight.

Woman mistakes photo on Facebook for a picture of herself which leads to a chilling discovery

Jules and Robynne look almost identical and live only 20 minutes from each other

Jules Batchelor, from Massachusetts, couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw an image of Robynne DeCaprio on social media.

The women, who are both 42, only live 20 minutes apart and ended up meeting via a mutual friend who believed they were doppelgängers.

And the resemblance is pretty striking, with Jules (who actually already has a twin sister) and Robynne sharing near identical features.

On Facebook, Jules wrote: “This is WILD to me. I have a twin sister but this is not her.

“This woman lives one town away and we are mistaken for one another constantly. I think it is the most fascinating thing! I wish I had better photos because we look eerily alike!”

Jules even showed a picture of Robynne to her dad, who apparently didn’t realise the woman he was looking at wasn’t his daughter.

Speaking about the moment the pair met in person for the first time, Jules added: “We were very friendly and had a good laugh. We are both busy mums but we are certainly friendly and we get a kick from the whole thing.

“When I met her for the first time I hugged her and said it was amazing to finally meet each other.

“It’s a strange feeling. How does that happen? It’s a weird phenomenon and I’m fascinated by it.

“It was a little creepy. I have been told I look like her for a really long time so when I finally met her I was astonished when I looked her in the eye.

“People always know that my twin sister and I are related for sure, but they would never look at a picture and wonder who is who. I find it really interesting that there is more than one of my lookalikes.”

People constantly ask the women if they would ever get a DNA test to see if they are in any way related, but they believe it is simply coincidence.

“I think it’s just a coincidence, I don’t think there’s a deeper meaning. It’s definitely funny we live so close to each other,” said Robynne.

“I think it’s funny. I don’t see it, but people keep confusing us so we must look alike.

“I would be out at a bar or the grocery store and people would say hi to me and I’d have to tell them I’m not Jules.

“This guy at the grocery store started following me around because he refused to believe me.”

Jules explained that while they look so similar, they don’t share the ‘same mannerisms’ like she does with her twin.

But it seems people aren’t convinced, with one writing online: “This is a real doppelganger!

“Not comparing folk who just happen to do their makeup like some celebrity… Congratulations on finding yours!”

Another said: “I thought I was looking at four photos of the same person for a sec.”

Raymond Burr was an iconic actor. Yet, how many people could say they knew the person behind the famous name? After all, his whole life was shrouded in a veil of falsehoods that he invented to hide his great and forbidden love.

The famous actor Raymond William Stacy Burr was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, on May 21, 1917. He became famous for his extensive and prodigious Hollywood career, which spanned numerous movies and a few hit television shows. The most famous of these was his role in the drama “Perry Mason.”

The show took a heavy toll on Burr. Every weekly episode was an astonishing hour-long installment, and its filming constantly required Burr to be on set early morning. The actor worked continually, often spending 15-hour days working on the next episode and sleeping in a little bungalow on set.

The actor spent nine years of his life starring in “Perry Mason” as the leading lad. Looking back at the years he spent devoted to making the TV drama a success, the actor admitted that he wasted a large portion of his life that he could have spent differently. One thing he lacked in his life was a family. He mentioned:

“The only thing I regret in my life — I’m sorry I spent nine years of my life tying myself down. I couldn’t be married, have a family, even have friends.”

That’s not to say that Burr didn’t try to have a family. Throughout his life, the actor insisted that he had been married three times, each union ending in tragedy. According to Burr, his first wife died in a plane crash in 1943. Burr briefly mentioned that they had had a son together, Michael Burr, but the boy passed away due to leukemia.

His second matrimony ended in divorce after only a few months. His third marriage was veiled in mystery, much like his first bride. According to Burr, his third wife, Laura Andrina Morgan, succumbed to cancer before the couple could go on their honeymoon. After his death, all but his supposed second marriage turned out to be a lie.

The Skeletons in Burr’s Closet

After years of confusion surrounding his past wives and persistent silence from Burr surrounding the topic of his son, the media soon gave up badgering the actor about his private life. Burr preferred to keep his personal affairs out of the limelight and often dismissed questions about his past marriages.

Besides his reputation for being a talented actor and the numerous roles he starred in, Burr also took an interest in helping young, impoverished individuals find their feet.

Despite his reticence to speak about his past, the public became fascinated with the tale of his late wife and son. When reporters asked him about them, Burr would respond with the same curt phrase, “I don’t discuss that.” In a way, his reluctance to broach the topic made it spread like wildfire, making it part of his mysterious lore.

After a while, people accepted the tale as fact, assuming the tragedy was too painful for Burr to linger on. Despite the public’s willingness to believe the story, cracks started forming when Burr’s second wife of only a few months, Isabella Ward, insisted that she knew nothing of a marriage preceding theirs.

Ward always held out that she was Burr’s first wife and that he never mentioned anything about a woman before her. She also noted that she had never met his son before he supposedly died from leukemia. Burr’s family also admitted that they had never met the bride or the boy. Ward confessed:

“No, I never met him. Because there was no son. But I don’t want to talk about that — it isn’t my place to say anything about that. I was Ray’s first wife. If there had been a wife before me, he would have told me.”

Burr maintained that he chose to be unwed because of his busy schedule. He mentioned that he had difficulty finding a woman who had no qualms with his 15-hour work schedule. On the nights that he made it home, he often arrived considerably late, but he spent most nights at the studio, not going home for days at a time.

In 1993, Burr’s private life started seeing the light. The actor was diagnosed with severe kidney cancer, and he knew he wasn’t going to live for long. One by one, the stories he had spun about his past started to unravel, and people began to realize that most of what he had said about his life was fabricated.

Although the actor had been married to Ward for a while, the actress realized marriage didn’t suit her. Meanwhile, Burr had been using the union to cover up the fact that he was gay. Burr had kept his sexuality a secret to avoid being shunned by the rest of Hollywood and keep his career intact.

Burr spent his last days saying goodbye to his closest friends with numerous extravagant parties at his California home, where he lived with his long-time partner, Robert Benevides. Burr and Benevides had been together for 35 years, having met through the infamous Scotty Bowers. They also worked together on “Perry Mason.”

Benevides admitted that Bowers had set him and Burr up in 1959, and they spent the rest of Burr’s life together. Rumor had it that the pair were quietly married in 1963, and Benevides looked after the house, knitting Burr sweaters in front of a fire. A close friend of the couple opened up about their relationship, saying:

“If you went to their house, Raymond would be wearing a frilly pink apron and doing the ironing. He fussed around like the woman of the house. Raymond always called Robert ‘my husband.’ He would knit sweaters for him in front of the fire.”

Finally, after Burr passed away, all his secrets were revealed by several sources. The actor left everything he owned, including a vineyard, to his partner, Benevides. After his passing, Benevides took over the vineyard, continuing what his partner had started. He also opened up about their relationship in the following years.

Raymond Burr’s Legacy

Although the public was disappointed to learn Burr had fabricated much of his past, he was still seen as an exceptional talent after his death. His two popular TV shows, “Perry Mason” and “Ironside,” were still revered as excellent entertainment, and he was lauded for his acting in the various Hitchcock films he starred in.

Burr developed a need to enrich children’s lives after seeing how impoverished many people were in the countries he visited.

Besides his reputation for being a talented actor and the numerous roles he starred in, Burr also took an interest in helping young, impoverished individuals find their feet. Throughout the years, the actor adopted many less-than-fortunate young people from Italy, Greece, Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Fiji, and Hindustan.

In many cases, Burr merely supplied the children he adopted with the money needed to start making themselves independent. In one case, he provided a Korean boy whose father had lost both his legs with $132.41, so he could start his own poultry business. The young man, Duk Hwa Lee, made a success of himself and kept in touch with Burr.

Burr believed every child he helped was worthy of his money and time. He often wrote to them to hear how things were going, and they always responded. They kept him up-to-date with how their lives were progressing and even sent the actor their report cards to boast about their academics.

The actor adopted 27 children in total, often visiting them and their families when he traveled to their countries. When he bought his home in Fiji, Burr brought six of the local children back with him to his house in California. The actor proceeded to pay for their entrance exams and their college tuition.

Burr developed a need to enrich children’s lives after seeing how impoverished many people were in the countries he visited. He saw homeless people shivering in the streets, hoping for some scraps to get them through the night, and realized he had the power to make a real difference in many people’s lives.

Burr started enquiring about projects aimed at helping those in need. A friend noticed his interest in charity projects and directed him to the Foster Parents Plan. The initiative asked for a mere ten dollars a month, which they sent to a child in need. The sponsor could also write them letters that were translated and delivered.

Over the years, Burr’s love of charity grew, and he became more involved in the lives of the children he sponsored. On many occasions, he would take the kids and their families on shopping sprees when he arrived in their country. The actor wanted to do everything he could to give them a leg-up in life.

Burr also helped support his nieces and nephews over the years. He established a private initiative that helped over 30 children around the world. Besides using his fame for the benefit of children in need, Burr lived his final days out with Benevides. The two shared a house, albeit secretly.

At that point, many people had already found out about Burr’s secret life, and Benevides decided it was time to come clean.

Burr and Benevides often went on trips together, visiting countries they both loved and experiencing the world together. In an interview, Benevides opened up about their travels abroad, saying Burr was partial to Portugal. They indulged in their love of wine together, tasting new bottles wherever they went.

In the same interview, Benevides opened up about his plans for his vineyard after his partner’s death. The producer admitted that many people have wondered whether he would sell the property, but he acknowledged that he had no idea where he would go instead. Benevides shared:

“I can’t imagine why I would sell and move to anywhere else because I love it here. Why would I go somewhere else? I do go to Faial every year because I have a little house in Praia do Almocharife. Uhm, it’s a little old house. It’s been there for a long time.”

Benevides shared that the vineyard not only holds a special place in his heart but it also provides him with the means to make a living. In his old age, Benevides tended the grounds, keeping the farm running smoothly and making wine to sell. He mentioned that keeping the vineyard going required constant effort, but it was worth it.

Burr and Benevides were lucky enough to spend their last days together on a farm in Sonoma County, California. The two tended the property until Burr succumbed to his cancer. After he passed away, Benevides took over, keeping the memory of his partner alive by keeping the things he had loved alive.

Benevides kept out of the public eye after Burr passed, preferring the solitude of the farm and the vineyard. When Bowers started leaking information about the numerous gay actors in Hollywood, Benevides didn’t even realize until he was contacted by a journalist, hoping to verify the claims Bowers was making.

At that point, many people had already found out about Burr’s secret life, and Benevides decided it was time to come clean. He confirmed that he and Burr had been in a relationship. He noted that although he couldn’t speak for every little fact in the book Bowers published, he vouched for Bowers’ honesty and character.

Besides working in the vineyard, Benevides is enjoying his retirement. He opened up about his life, saying he spends his days traveling. He explained, “I made a promise to myself that I would travel every month.” He lives on any of the two properties left to him by Burr. Benevides was the sole beneficiary.

Burr even wrote his sister and the rest of his family out of his will. Although Burr’s family tried to challenge the will to get some of his assets, but the courts ruled in Benevides’ favour, making him the sole trustee of Burr’s entire estate.

Thanakarn Kanthee, best known online to his social media followers as ‘Bank Leicester,’ arrived at 11PM for a birthday party on December 25 in the Tha Mai district of Chanthaburi, Thailand, Bangkok Post reported.

The man, who worked selling garlands, was asked to drink bottles of whisky in exchange for cash. He was reportedly offered 10,000 baht (almost $300) for every 350ml bottle he gulped, per The Independent.

According to The Nation Thailand, he was reportedly paid 30,000 baht (over $800) for the challenge after apparently drinking three bottles.

Soon after completing the challenge, Kanthee vomited and lost consciousness. He was rushed to the hospital but tragically pronounced dead at 3:40AM on December 26.

The cause of death has been recorded as acute heart failure, though further investigation is needed to determine the role of alcohol consumption and any underlying health conditions, Thai Enquirer wrote on Facebook.

Thai police have arrested two influencers from Chanthaburi and Pathum Thani provinces in connection with the 21-year-old’s death.

One of them, Ekachart “Em” Meephrom, admitted to daring Kanthee to participate in the drinking challenge but denied any personal involvement or responsibility.

He was charged with negligence resulting in death and was denied bail after the local court he was presented in ruled that Meephrom had shown reckless behavior. The other suspect that was arrested was identified as Theerawat Srirot from Pathum.

If it is confirmed that the victim was paid to participate in the deadly drinking challenge, the influencers could face up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to 20,000 baht ($580) under Section 291 of the Penal Code, which addresses causing death through negligence.

Online users have shared Kanthee’s old posts in which the influencer said he performed such risky challenges to support his family, especially his 80-year-old grandmother, who had raised him.

“I am willing to be bullied and insulted to just get scraps of money from the rich people in order to provide for my family,” one of his posts read, per The Independent.

His grandmother spoke out about his loss, saying: “Currently, I live in this house with my son and Thanakarn, just the three of us. Thanakarn took care of everything for me. Now that he’s gone, I have no idea how I will continue to manage.”

Her grandson had gone away promising to return with 60,000 baht ($1,737) they needed to settle overdue payments, the grandmother added.

Study shows young men are 'more likely' to get erectile dysfunction if they also suffer from this specific issue

The study was published in May last year

Erectile dysfunction is said to affect around 30 million men in the US, and can occur due to a variety of different problems.

It happens when you can’t get or keep an erection during sex, with studies and research finding the likes of stress or past trauma and physical problems can contribute towards erectile dysfunction.

What’s the condition linked to erectile dysfunction?

To add further meat to the bone, scientists have been working on a smaller study that looks into a potential link between young men developing erectile dysfunction following an irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) diagnosis.

Impacting 10-15 percent of people in the US, IBS ‘is a common condition that affects the digestive system’, according to the NHS.

Symptoms of the condition include stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation, and is usually a lifelong condition.

While there may be no cure, diet changes and medicines can often help control the symptoms.

How does IBS tie in with erectile dysfunction?

Well, the study conducted involved 133 medical students from a university in northern Peru in 2022.

“The dependent variable was ED as measured with the 5-item International Index of Erectile Function, and the exposure variable was IBS as assessed with the Rome IV–Bristol questionnaire,” the study states.

Ultimately, the experts noted their findings were ‘inconclusive’, but the study does show a ‘significant association between IBS and a higher prevalence of ED’.

The team of researchers also said those with IBS often have a poorer quality of life due to symptoms such as diarrhoea, which can severely impact mental health, and in turn, one’s ability to be aroused.

What have doctors said?

It comes after a doctor claimed men who excessively watch porn and masturbate could lead to erectile dysfunction.

In a video shared on social media, Dr Mandell said watching too much pornography and ‘masturbating all the time will eventually lead to erectile dysfunction’.

He continued: “Too much sexual stimulation is not good. You’re overloading the reward system in your brain that’s causing dopamine, those happy chemicals that are being secreted from the brain. And eventually, you will get desensitized to sexual stimulation.

“So when you start cutting out porn and masturbating you will see significant results.”

HealthMatch reports erectile dysfunction can be ‘porn-induced’ (PIED) and that ‘several studies’ have found ‘a link between compulsive pornography use and reduced sex drive and/or ED’.

Dad Told Me to Take Cold Showers with the Soap He Gave Me — When My Boyfriend Walked into My Bathroom, He Started Crying

When Amelia’s father gave her a soap bar and told her to take cold showers with it, she never thought he had an evil, hidden agenda behind it. Her world turned upside down when her boyfriend told her the horrifying truth about that soap.

I’ve always been Daddy’s little girl, but now I feel like throwing up when I say those words. I’m not his little girl, and he’s not the man I always thought he was. Let me tell you why.

So, I’ve always been close to my father, like REALLY close. I’m 23, and I lived with my parents up until a month ago because Dad never wanted me to move away.

He had given me the second floor of the house where I had my bedroom and a bathroom. Those two rooms of the house solely belonged to me. They were my safe space until the day Dad began to complain.

My father is one of those people with a personality resembling a coconut. You know, hard on the outside and soft on the inside. He has these strict rules and principles that he abides by, but he also has this empathy inside that makes him the best Dad ever.

“Character is built in discomfort,” he’d always tell me. “You gotta face the worst now if you want a life full of luxuries ahead.”

But he’d also buy me chocolates and ice cream on days I didn’t feel good.

Meanwhile, my mother has always been the typical loving mom. She’s always ready for hugs and kisses and never says no whenever I ask her to cook my favorite pasta. She has always been a sweetheart.

However, I recently felt that my parents were not the same anymore. Over the past few months, they had grown cold, and the love and care had suddenly vanished.

Honestly, I sometimes felt like I was living with two strangers in the house. It felt like we had lost the connection we always had.

Then began the unnecessary complaints and nitpicking from Dad’s side.

“You and your friends were too loud last night!”

“You’re staying out too late, Amy.”

“You’re spending too much on unnecessary things!”

Then came the complaint that really snatched my self-confidence.

“You smell horrible, go take a cold shower and use the soap I gave you!”

I smell horrible? What? I thought. Where did that come from?

That was the day when Dad handed me this soap I had never seen before. It was a green, chunky soap bar that smelled a bit weird, but Dad had asked me to use it, assuring it would help get rid of the unpleasant body odor.

His words made me feel so self-conscious that I had even stopped hanging out with my boyfriend, Henry.

I often found myself smelling my skin, clothes, hair, and even my breath, just to check what made my father feel so uncomfortable around me.

I followed his advice and used that soap whenever I took a shower. Or, if I may put it correctly, I took five showers a day just to use that soap and get rid of the smell that had apparently been haunting my father.

I scrubbed my skin so hard that I stripped it of the moisture it needed. My skin had begun to look dry, scaly, and so rough.

Even then, my father said I still smelled like rotten onions.

“Did you use that soap, Amy? I don’t think you did,” he’d say. “You smell so bad.”

What shocked me even more was that my mother didn’t say a word when Dad humiliated me like that every day. She didn’t say anything in my defense or stop me from being so hard on myself.

Mom and I had always been close. She was the only person I shared everything with since I was a kid. I’d always tell her about my latest crush, my new boyfriend, and even the new slang I’d learned at school.

I couldn’t believe it when she stood silently, avoiding my gaze, while Dad kept grilling me. I won’t ever forgive Mom for not being there for me when I needed her the most.

I kept showering with the soap, and my clothes always clung to me because they were damp from the frequent showers.

Besides, I began avoiding my father. I’d always scurry up to my room and lock the door whenever he returned home from work. I didn’t want him to see me. Or, more specifically, smell me.

The turning point came when my boyfriend, Henry, came over. We had been dating for a few months, and he was the one bright spot in my increasingly bleak days.

Henry has always been the supportive boyfriend, the green flag we all look for. He’s always been kind to me, and he came over that day because he had noticed I had been avoiding him.

“Where have you been, Amy?” he asked as he held me by my arms.

“I was… I was just busy with some stuff, Henry,” I faked a smile. “I’m fine.”

“Really? You don’t look fine, babe,” he said.

“I’m okay, Henry,” I said as I held his hand. “Tell me one thing… Do I smell bad?”

He laughed, thinking I was kidding.

“No, babe. You smell fine. Why?”

“Nothing. I just…” I mumbled. “Forget it.”

“I’ll be right back,” he said before going to the bathroom.

A few minutes later, I watched him step out of the bathroom with the soap bar in his hand. I could see he wasn’t too happy about it.

“Who gave you this?! Are you taking cold showers with this?!?” he asked with eyes wide open.

How did he know this? I thought.

“Yeah, my Dad. Why?” I asked, trying my best not to panic.

“They didn’t tell you, did they?! Baby, this isn’t soap! It’s used to strip industrial machinery of grease and grime.”

“Wait, what?” I was shocked.

“This stuff is toxic, Amy. It causes chemical burns.”

I can’t explain how betrayed and heartbroken I felt at that point. How could my father do this to me? To his daughter who he loved so much?

That’s when it all started to make sense to me. The dry, itchy skin and the weird texture of the soap bar. It also made me wonder if my mother knew about this.

“I think we need to go to the hospital to get you checked,” Henry said. “And then, we’re going to the police. This is abuse, Amy.”

I don’t know why, but I stopped him.

I knew he was telling the truth, but I couldn’t put the words “abuse” and “Dad” together. I had never seen Dad in a negative light, and I didn’t like how those words fit in the same sentence and made so much sense.

In short, I couldn’t accept that my father had tried to hurt me.

“We can’t do that,” I told Henry. “We can’t go to the police.”

“But why?” he asked.

“I’ll explain that later,” I said. “Please just help me get out of here. I’ll confront my parents later.”

He agreed, and we moved into a small apartment a few days later. It was cramped and barely furnished, but it felt like a safe haven compared to what I had endured.

Then, it was time for me to confront my parents. I drove back to their house the next day.

When I arrived, Dad was in his usual spot, watching TV in the living room, and Mom was in the kitchen. I walked in with the soap bar in my hand and stood in front of my dad.

“I never thought you’d do this to me, Dad,” I said as I held the soap bar high enough for him to see. “This is toxic. It’s poison. It ruined my skin. Why did you do this?”

“Oh, so you finally found what it is, huh?” he smirked. “You needed to learn a lesson.”

“A lesson?” I laughed. “You nearly killed me. For what? Because you thought I smelled bad?”

“Please stop this!” My mother finally intervened. “Amy, yo—”

“You knew, Mom, didn’t you?” I cut her off. “You were a part of this ridiculous plan, right?”

I watched tears trickle down her cheeks, but she didn’t say a word.

“Why did you do this to me, Dad?” I confronted my father. “I need to know!”

I wasn’t ready for his response. I had no idea it would turn my world upside down.

“You want to know why?” he said, almost to himself. “Fine. When your mother and I went on that vacation last year, we had a little too much to drink. We ended up in a crowd, where a fortune teller told me that your mother had been unfaithful.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked as my heart flipped.

“That’s true,” he continued. “When I confronted your mother the next morning, she told me the truth. She told me you weren’t mine. You’re the result of an affair she had while I was working hard for us in another country.”

I looked at my mom, who couldn’t meet my gaze. Then, I looked back at Dad as he continued to speak.

“Your mother begged me not to leave her because she didn’t want to break our family apart,” he shook his head. “So, I agreed. But on one condition. I had to make her pay, and you too. Because YOU ARE NOT MY DAUGHTER!”

My heart shattered into a million pieces that day. I couldn’t believe my father had this evil side. The evil personality that was so hungry for unjust revenge.

“You mean you gave me that toxic soap because you were angry at Mom? Because you thought I was not your daughter?” I asked as the tears in my eyes blurred my vision.

“You’re not my daughter,” he said and turned around. “You’re not my blood.”

For the next few seconds, I stared at his back in silence, wondering why he punished me for something that wasn’t my fault.

“Alright, I’m done with you,” I said as I wiped away my tears. “You’ll be hearing from my lawyer.”

And with that, I stepped out of the house that was once my haven. Over the next few days, I visited the hospital multiple times for my skin treatment and talked to my lawyer regarding how I could file a case against my parents.

Soon, my father received a notice of the restraining order and the impending lawsuit. With that, his smug confidence was shattered, and his reputation was in ruins. His entire circle was disgusted by his actions.

Meanwhile, Mom tried to get in touch with me, but I didn’t reply to any of her calls or texts. If she couldn’t take a stand for me, why should I even bother talking to her? I was done.

Now, living with Henry, I feel a sense of peace that had been missing from my life for ages. I don’t remember the last time I had laughed this much in my own house. I can’t thank fate enough for blessing me with a man like Henry. I have no idea what I’d do without him.
