Another day, another Twitter rager and this time it’s between Elon Musk and three NASA astronauts.

It turns out being accused of doing a ‘Nazi salute’ wasn’t enough for Musk when it came to kicking off 2025, with the Tesla CEO having taken to Twitter to use a slur against a former NASA astronaut.

A clip from a Fox News broadcast of US President Donald Trump and Musk was shared to Twitter showing the pair discussing the two astronauts – Sunita ‘Suni’ Williams and Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore – who were meant to be in space in June for eight to days but now won’t return until March.

Musk says: “At the president’s instruction, we are accelerating the return of the astronauts which was postponed kind of, to a ridiculous degree.

“[…] They were left up there for political reasons which is not good.”

And it didn’t take long for European Space Agency astronaut and commander of ISS for Exp 70, aerospace engineer Andreas Mogensen to respond, resharing the post, adding: “What a lie. And from someone who complains about lack of honesty from the mainstream media.”

“You are fully r******d. SpaceX could have brought them back several months ago. I OFFERED THIS DIRECTLY to the Biden administration and they refused,” he said.

“Return WAS pushed back for political reasons. Idiot.”

Former NASA astronaut and US Navy Captain Scott Kelly then weighed in, arguing Mogensen is ‘one of the most competent, trustworthy and honest people’ he’s ‘ever met’, noting he would know as was the commander of the International Space Station when Mogensen ‘flew his first space mission’.

“This rhetoric is beyond the pale but, sadly, not surprising. He does not deserve this kind of disrespect,” he added.

Alas, Musk continued: “Yes, he does. He is an idiot who publicly attacked me, despite having no idea what ACTUALLY happened. Btw, your brother claims to be independent, but is just a Dem donor shill.”

Navy combat veteran and retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly then tagged Musk and challenged him to ‘come talk to the three’ of them only when he ‘finally get[s] the nerve to climb into a rocket ship’.

Mogensen later added: “Elon, I have long admired you and what you have accomplished, especially at SpaceX and Tesla.

“You know as well as I do, that Butch and Suni are returning with Crew-9, as has been the plan since last September.

“Even now, you are not sending up a rescue ship to bring them home. They are returning on the Dragon capsule that has been on ISS since last September.”

A mom-of-two has been left unable to close her eyes after flying overseas to undergo cosmetic surgery on the cheap.

Joanne Law forked out around $6,500 to fund a face, neck and eyelid lift, as well a fat graft, and while it may be still be an expensive venture, it would have cost her at least double that figure if she had opted for the same operation in her own country, England.

In June, 2023, the 56-year-old took a four-hour flight across Europe to go under the knife, having visited the same hospital four months earlier, in February, where she underwent gastric sleeve surgery.

Following the success of the first procedure led to Law shedding seven stone, and while she was excited about the weight-loss, it brought about its own problem.

“When I lost seven stone I just felt wrinkly, so I thought this is my next step, I’ll get my face done,” Law, of Manchester, shared.

“I was chuffed the whole time, and that was my downfall. I didn’t research enough because I trusted them.

“The procedure was around the back of the hospital in a basement. It frightened the hell out of me, it was awful, like a horror movie.”

She continued: “There was an old-fashioned bed screen separator, someone was being operated on the other side in the same theatre.

“Immediately after I got blepharitis, which is a bacterial infection, and had blisters under my eyes for three months.

“I still can’t fully close my eyes now. I’m struggling to drive at night now because the car lights hurt my eyes and I just can’t close them.”

Law went on to explain how she struggles to get around during windy conditions, and how she even has to pull over at service stations often while driving because she described how her eyes ‘droop’, and being unable to shut them it feels ‘as if I’ve had no sleep for a week’.

The ordeal has knocked her confidence, with Law confessing that she no longer likes leaving the house as people comment on how ‘tired’ she looks.

Now, the Mancunian hopes to raise awareness to prevent others from taking the trip to Turkey, be that from the UK, the US or Canada.

“What made me suspicious was before I went in, is that I couldn’t find any before and after photographs of the surgeon’s work,” Law explained.

“I remember he fobbed me off to the point that I believed him. I was excited about what I was going to have done and ignored my gut feeling.

“I’ve been so frustrated, I want to scream to other girls and say don’t do it.”

Before adding: “The recovery was horrendous, there was no aftercare. That hospital is a butcher’s shop.”

NASA has given an important update on asteroid 2024 YR4.

If you’ve been keeping with up with astronomy news of late, it’s likely you’ll have heard about a ‘city-destroying’ asteroid that’s currently hurtling towards Earth.

2024 YR4 was first spotted after it set off automated asteroid warning systems in December 2024, and astronomers have been tracking it ever since.

According to NASA, the space object measures around 130 – 300 feet across (40 – 90 meters) and should it hit Earth, the force would be hundreds times the force of the Hiroshima bomb.

Initially it was given just a 1.2 percent chance of colliding with Earth in December 2032, but it wasn’t long until this figure more than doubled.

In a worrying update given last week, the likelihood of hitting our planet was increased to 3.2 percent; making it the biggest threat to Earth in NASA’s history, beating the infamous ‘God of Chaos’ asteroid.

But the ‘God of Chaos’ (officially known as 99942 Apophis) has now regained its titled after 2024 YR4’s chances of hitting Earth have drastically decreased.

In an update issued by NASA yesterday (February 24), the agency said: “NASA has significantly lowered the risk of near-Earth asteroid 2024 YR4 as an impact threat to Earth for the foreseeable future. When first discovered, asteroid 2024 YR4 had a very small, but notable chance of impacting our planet in 2032.

“As observations of the asteroid continued to be submitted to the Minor Planet Center, experts at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s (JPL’s) Center for Near-Earth Object Studies were able to calculate more precise models of the asteroid’s trajectory and now have found there is no significant potential for this asteroid to impact our planet for the next century.

“The latest observations have further reduced the uncertainty of its future trajectory, and the range of possible locations the asteroid could be on Dec. 22, 2032, has moved farther away from the Earth.”

It continued: “There still remains a very small chance for asteroid 2024 YR4 to impact the Moon on Dec. 22, 2032. That probability is currently 1.7%.”

Anyone else just breathe a sigh of relief?

With the update in mind, the asteroid is now in NASA’s ‘normal’ category on its Torino Scale, compared to ‘meriting attention from astronomers’ when the chance was above three percent.

The NASA website says of items in category 1: “A routine discovery in which a pass near the Earth is predicted that poses no unusual level of danger.

“Current calculations show the chance of collision is extremely unlikely with no cause for public attention or public concern. New telescopic observations very likely will lead to re-assignment to Level 0.”

An American teenager has been accused of throwing her newborn out of a hotel window while traveling with a group of young adults, prompting police to consider the possibility the incident may be a case of pregnancy denial.

The 18-year-old tourist has not been named, but police have launched an investigation into the alleged incident that occurred on Monday (February 24).

The American is said to have thrown the newborn out of a second story window of a Paris hotel, sadly resulting in the child’s death.

Emergency services made attempts to save the life of the baby, but police confirmed that the infant could not be revived. The young mother was then taken into custody when police arrived at the Ibis budget hotel, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Authorities are now considering that the incident may have been a case of ‘denial of pregnancy’.

According to a report by News Medical Life Sciences, pregnancy denial is, simply, when a woman denies she is pregnant.

Dr Liji Thomas explained in the report: “At 20 weeks of pregnancy, it is found in 1 of 475 women, but the incidence declines to 1 in 2,500 at delivery.

“Pregnancy denial may occur in both psychotic and non-psychotic forms. Furthermore, women with pregnancy denial may show different categories of the condition, such as frank denial, suspicion of pregnancy without conscious awareness, and complete knowledge of the fact that she is pregnant with denial and concealment of the condition.

“Women with psychotic denial of pregnancy have long-term mental disorders such as schizophrenia, which continues throughout pregnancy.”

Authorities working on the case in Paris have said that an investigation has been launched and will be treated as a homicide of a minor under the age of 15.

Research is still needed to determine the causes of pregnancy denial as the condition isn’t completely understood in the scientific community.

Some ideas suggest the conditions stems from a failure to adjust to the conditions of pregnancy. The News Medical Life Sciences report states that these include the need to adapt to changing physical needs and demands, changing shape, preparing for birth and baby care, and developing early bonding to the fetus.

Dr Thomas added: “All of this may result in overwhelming fears and doubts as to one’s own capacity to successfully carry and look after a baby, and in most severe cases, cause the patient to deny that she is pregnant.”

Some previous studies have suggested those with a higher risk of pregnancy denial are of younger age, are in their first pregnancy, have low degree of social support, and/or have a history of substance abuse or psychiatric disorder.

Tony Hawk struck an emotional chord with fans after sending out a bittersweet message to grunge icon Kurt Cobain.

The skateboarding legend reflected on his growing family in a poignant Instagram story, as some fans are only just realizing he’s now, technically, related to the late Nirvana frontman.

That’s right – Tony Hawk and Kurt Cobain, two of the biggest stars of the 90s, share a grandson.

Back in September, Hawk became a grandfather for the first time when his son Riley Hawk, 31, and Frances Bean Cobain, 32, welcomed a baby boy, called Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk. What a powerhouse of a name!

Frances, 32, is the only child of Cobain and singer and guitarist Courtney Love.

Born in 1992, she wasn’t even two years old when her father took his own life in April 1994 at the age of 27.

But she shared the happy news of her new arrival last year, posting a series of pictures of their joyous family of three to social media.

“Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything,” she wrote.

Now, Hawk shared how he wishes Cobain was here today to meet his ‘wondrous grandchild.’

In a recent Instagram story to his 9.3 million followers, Tony shared a ticket stub from a Nirvana concert he attended in Houston, Texas back in October 1991 – when it cost just $10 a ticket, by the way!

Hawk wrote: “Went straight from S.U.A.S. event at Houston skatepark to this concert in 1991. It was as transformative as live music can be.

“We all experienced something rare and powerful that night. The world would never be the same.”

The doting grandfather then opened up about his family, writing: “I wish Kurt were here so he could see the incredible woman his daughter has become.

“Meet her devoted, caring husband, and hold our wondrous grandchild,” he reflected.

Is that a tear in your eye? Same here…

Some were in pieces over the beautiful message, as one fan wrote on TikTok: “Well dang, not me ugly crying over here. OUR GRANDCHILD. Imagine being at that show and having no clue that you would share the same grandchild years later. Wow.”

A second agreed: “Not this making me cry. So glad Frances found this love and family.”

A third reckoned: “The cultural congruence of skating and grunge, this was like meant to happen. Also I just know Kurt’s daughter feels at ease with the Hawks.”

Over on X, formerly Twitter, people were stunned to discover Hawk and Cobain’s familial link as people admitted they had ‘no idea’.

One person reckoned baby Ronin is already ‘the coolest person alive’, as a second dubbed him ‘the ultimate 90s (grand)baby’.

“Crazy legacy from both sides,” another weighed in, as someone else wrote: “Can you imagine being the kid that gets to say your grandfathers are Kurt Cobain and Tony Hawk?”

And Hawk is keen to pass on his love of skateboarding to Ronin too.

In another Instagram post last week, Hawk posted a photo of himself beaming while sat on a skateboard, holding his grandson.

“What happens when all of your kids can skate on their own and no longer rely on you to give them rides?” he asked. “You wait until they have their own kids. Circles (wheels?) of life.”
