Snoop Dogg says there's only one person in the world who can outsmoke him

Snoop Dogg loves rolling a joint, but there is one person who can outsmoke the rapper, according to the man himself.

Remember when Snoop stated he was giving up the ‘smoke’? Well, it was just a marketing stunt from the musician, which hardly came as a surprise to many of his fans as the terms ‘Snoop Dogg’ and ‘weed’ pretty much go hand-in-hand at this point.

Because of his enthusiasm for marijuana, it would be hard to imagine an individual that could smoke Snoop under the table – but apparently, there is one.

Snoop made the revelation during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel back in 2018, when he was asked to share his thoughts on the weed experts of the world.

Kimmel explained: “Seth Rogen was here last week, and we were talking about Mount Rushmore of pot smokers, and of course, you are on.

“And I think that Seth is on Mt. Rushmore. Who would you put on that Mt. Rushmore?”

This led to Snoop listing a few names who are a fan of the substance.

“I would put Bob Marley. I would put Cheech and Chong – they were the first faces on the mountain, they’re the ones who showed us what a mountain was,” Snoop said.

However, there was one person who stands out from the rest, according to Snoop.

“Willie P. Nelson is definitely on there,” he said.

“And by the way, Willie Nelson is the only person who has ever outsmoked Snoop Dogg. I had to hit the ‘time out’ button.”

Snoop told Kimmel he’d ‘never’ had to ask for a time out before, making Willie the only person to out-smoke him.

Willie later corroborated the story in an interview with Daily Beast, saying: “That was over in Amsterdam! I called Snoop and I said, ‘Hey buddy, you gotta come over here. This is where it’s at!’

“So he came over and we hit every bar, every smoke place in Amsterdam. We had a helluva time.”

But while Snoop met his match with Willie, the music legend doesn’t consider himself to be the best of the best.

When asked about his proficiency with weed, Willie added: “Oh, I don’t know. There’s probably people that can outsmoke me! I don’t do a lot of smoking anymore.

“I’ve switched over to a vaporizer because it’s better on my lungs.”

Just imagine what would happen if we could get Willie, Snoop, Rogen, Marley and Cheech and Chong in a room together.

It would certainly be an entertaining ride.

American Airlines Flight 5342 carrying 64 passengers collided with an army Black Hawk helicopter, which was carrying three soldiers, as it approached Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday (January 29).

The catastrophic impact, which is the deadliest US air disaster since 2001, sent both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River around 9PM local time.

During a press conference the following day, President Donald Trump confirmed that there were no survivors from either aircraft.

According to Sky News, rescue crews had recovered 40 bodies from the river, leaving 27 people still unaccounted for.

Among those who tragically died was Asra Hussain, who had been returning home from a work trip in Kansas.

Asra’s husband, Hamaad Raza, had been waiting for her at Reagan National Airport when he received what would be her final message, which read: “We’re landing in 20 minutes.”

But those 20 minutes passed, and she never walked through the terminal doors. Instead, her distraught partner watched as emergency vehicles sped past him toward the Potomac River.

“I was waiting and I started seeing a bunch of EMS vehicles speeding past me, like way too many than normal,” he told NBC 4 Washington.

As panic set in, he tried texting his wife again – but the messages weren’t going through. When he finally reached Terminal 2, he saw hundreds of emergency workers swarming the area.

Desperate for answers, he turned to social media. “I show up to the airport, and my wife’s not responding, and I look on Twitter and I see that it’s her flight,” he said.

Raza and Hussain met in college in Indiana and had only been married for two years.

The devastated man opened up about what his late wife meant to him, telling the outlet: “She went above and beyond and then took a giant leap over that when it came to doing things for other people, for me, for her parents, for my parents,” adding: “She was the kindest person I’ve ever met.”

It’s been a day and the tragic reality still hadn’t sunk in. “It just, feels crazy that it happened to us, to be honest. I mean, it’s like you see these things happen in the news, you see them happen in other countries,” he said.

Now, instead of planning their future together, Raza is planning his wife’s funeral. “Life is short. Hug your loved ones,” he told viewers.

“Tell them you love them when they’re getting on a flight. Check up on them. Text your family when you land,” Raza added.

Investigators are still piecing together what went wrong, but early reports suggest the helicopter was flying too high – about 400 feet – when it crossed paths with the descending airliner, the New York Post reported.

Per CNN, The National Transportation Safety Board, which is leading the probe into the collision, revealed that the plane’s flight data and voice recorders, known as black boxes, have been recovered.

While officials have yet to pinpoint an official cause, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy didn’t hold back when addressing the tragedy.

“Absolutely preventable,” he said on Thursday, agreeing with President Trump that “it looks like it should have been prevented,” per GMA.

Netflix series is so terrifying Stephen King urged all his fans to watch it

When it comes to horror, there’s perhaps no better expert than Stephen King.

The beloved author is the mind behind some of the most chilling tales to ever be published, with many of his great literary classics quickly being adapted for the big and small screens.

In fact, some of the most iconic horror movies to exist stem from the mind of King – such as Carrie (1976), The Shining (1980), Children of the Corn (1984), Misery (1990), and Gerald’s Game (2017).

Therefore, if I’m looking for a movie or TV show that’s going to leave me unable to sleep with the lights off, then I’m going to listen to King.

And one there’s one show currently streaming on Netflix that King has spoken very highly of.

The eight-part series follows a famous horror writer (okay, we may have figured out why King likes it so much) called Emma.

However, the author’s world is quickly shattered when she learns that one of the characters she writes in her horror novels exists in the real world and is tormenting Emma’s loved ones.

Check out the trailer below:

Titled Marianna, the show was created by Samuel Bodin and Quoc Dang Tran and stars Victoire Du Bois, Lucie Boujenah, and Tiphaine Daviot.

And after streaming the series on Netflix, King was quick to praise the show, writing in a previous tweet on X: “If you’re one of those sickos–like me–who enjoys being scared, MARIANNE (Netflix) will do the job.

“There are glints of humor that give it a STRANGER THINGS vibe. It also has (I say it with all due modesty) a Stephen King vibe.”

Talk about high praise!

And since the show’s release back in 2019, it has perhaps flown under the radar with English-speaking viewers, despite boasting an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and a further 7.7/10 on IMDb (which is high praise for a horror).

And over on X, viewers were quick to share their praise, with one person writing: “Two episodes in and I have to say that French horror series Marianne (on Netflix) is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. Skin-crawling horror masterclass.”

Another added: “How everyone isn’t still talking about MARIANNE is a crime. Best horror series on Netflix. Really cool world building with an antagonist you can actually remember!”

A third tweeted: “Finally started Marianne on Netflix and this is hands down the best horror series I’ve seen in a long time. Compelling story, well rounded characters, and this is definitely going to give me nightmares.”

The 25-year-old, who joined the industry in 2018, remains in a semi-conscious state following a cardiac arrest at the facility in early 2024.

Her family has filed a lawsuit against Summit Malibu and its parent company, Malibu Lighthouse Treatment Centers, LLC, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The court filing brings forth serious accusations, including “abuse of a dependent adult, professional negligence, negligence, and fraudulent business practices”.

Willis’ journey to recovery took a devastating turn after she checked into the rehab center on January 27, 2024, seeking help for a severe ketamine addiction.

For a year, she had reportedly been consuming “five to six grams daily” of the dangerous drug, leading to debilitating side effects such as urinary incontinence and night terrors.

Court documents cited by the Daily Star revealed that Willis had previously been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, and PTSD, and was already on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication.

Surprisingly, drug tests upon her admission showed no ketamine or other substances in her system, and she continued to test clean in the following days, despite her “rapidly failing health,” which raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding her cardiac arrest.

The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of Willis’s decline within the facility.

It claims she soon became “disheveled, frail, and disoriented” and struggled to walk. She was also reportedly “barely eating, not showering or getting dressed” and “suffered from aches, tremors, spasms, weakness, appeared to be in pain, and experienced vaginal pain”.

James A. Morris Jr. from Morris Law Firm, representing Emily and her guardian Yesenia Lara Cooper, stated: “Eventually she grew so dehydrated that a nurse could not measure her blood pressure.

“By this time her acute medical distress had been recorded and yet they left the decision to go to an urgent care up to a patient who was suffering incredible pain and could not care for her own well-being. There is no excuse for their failure to obtain medical and psychological care,” he added.

According to the filing, Willis was discovered unconscious by a nurse practitioner on February 4, 2024. Paramedics performed CPR on her for 30 to 40 minutes, finally restoring a heartbeat. However, the prolonged lack of oxygen to her brain left her comatose.

While Willis has since regained consciousness and can track objects with her eyes, she remains unable to move or speak and is currently in a care home in Utah.

“Had the staff followed standard medical protocols, Emily would have had the opportunity to regain control of her life,” Morris said. “No patient should ever be subjected to such a horrendous breakdown in clinical care. Her health was ignored until it was too late, and now her life is forever changed.”

Following the tragedy that saw 67 people lose their lives in a horrific plane crash, the father of a passenger onboard has paid tribute to his son.

An immediate rescue operation was launched, but sadly this changed to a recovery mission after authorities declared that the 64 people on the plane, and three on the helicopter were likely to be dead.

Among those onboard was Spencer Lane, a rising star from the Skating Club of Boston believed to be 16 years old.

“Spencer, in the best way possible, was a crazy kid,” said the club’s CEO, Doug Zeghibe.

“Highly talented, has not been skating that long, and has been rocketing to the top of the sport. Very fun, very cerebral.”

His mother, Christine Lane, was also on the flight, per the New York Post.

Lane, who was traveling alongside several members of the figure skating community – including former world champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov – posted a final message on social media before his flight.

Around 7:00PM that evening, he shared a photo on Instagram with the caption “ICT -> DCA,” referencing Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

With the crash marking the first major commercial airline disaster in the U.S. since 2009, Lane’s father, Douglas Lane, has spoken out about his son’s loss.

“Whether he was in his home club in Boston, [Spencer] was just loved by everyone,” Douglas told WPRI. “From adults running the club to smaller skaters, to the people that are competing for a shot at the Olympics, they all adored him.”

In a statement, he described his son as “a force of nature.”

“You simply could not stop him if he decided he wanted to do something,” Douglas wrote.

“There is no better example of this than his remarkable skating journey, which we are heartbroken to see end too soon. He truly loved it, and his ascent from basic Learn to Skate classes to U.S. Figure Skating’s National Development Team in just a few short years was unprecedented.”

Douglas also expressed gratitude for the support of the skating community. “We are so grateful that his last week was filled with joy and surrounded by his beloved Skating Club of Boston and the U.S. Figure Skating family.”

Remembering his wife, Christie, Douglas described her as someone who “exuded creativity throughout her life.”

“She brought even greater passion to her role as a mother to Spencer and his brother Milo,” he said. “She was also a lover of animals, and we lost track of how many dogs she helped place in loving adoptive homes.”

James Marsden took part in 'bizarre Truman Show style' reality series that 'gaslit' contestant for three weeks

The contestant was ‘paranoid’ he was still being filmed after the show ended

James Marsden, the Hollywood A-Lister who has appeared in numerous blockbusters and beloved shows, once took part in a Truman Show style reality series.

The show involved a contestant being lied to for multiple weeks, with him not even realising he was on the show.

Some fans described what happened as the contestant in question being ‘gaslit’.

Ronald Gladden and James Marsden (Amazon Freevee)

Ronald Gladden and James Marsden (Amazon Freevee)

Despite what may sound like a fairly cruel endeavour, the show is actually beloved, with viewers being full of praise for James Marsden and the contestant, a man named Ronald Gladden.

The show in question is called Jury Duty, and as far as Ronald knew at the start of filming, it was a small scale documentary that promised to show people what it was like to take part in Jury Service in the United States.

What he didn’t know however, is that everyone else, from the judge, to the bailiff, to the defendant, were all actors, and hidden cameras were everywhere.

This included James Marsden, who played a heightened version of himself on the show.

It released on Amazon Freevee in 2023 and received a shockingly large degree of acclaim.

Jury Duty sits currently at an 8.2 on IMDb, with an 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for four Emmys, with James Marsden receiving a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

The rest of the jury was filled up with character actors and lesser known names who played characters, whilst James Marsden played a larger-than-life cocky version of himself.

Fiona Sturges said in their review for the Financial Times: “With Ronald at the centre, what might have been an ethically dubious experiment and an exercise in extreme discomfort has turned out to be both funny and life-affirming.”

Though many viewers were full of praise for the show, others were less than keen on the concept.

In one discussion of the show on Reddit someone commented: “Lol he was literally being gaslit.”

Another popular post on the subreddit r/television read: “Let me start by saying I binged the show in one afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Right up until the end.

“I don’t know what I expected but when the judge finally told Ronald the truth, the look on his face crushed me.

“Suddenly I felt serious guilt for enjoying the first seven episodes. This man was deceived and lied to for weeks for no other reason than to entertain us.”

The viewer described Ronald as being ‘Truman Show-ed’, adding: “The Truman Show was a warning about where reality TV was heading, not a goal for the entertainment industry to aim for.”

In an interview with NBC, Ronald said: “Any time I would seriously start to entertain the idea that this couldn’t be real, I would almost start to question my own sanity.

“Am I actually going crazy, or does it make more sense that I’m just surrounded by some weird people doing weird stuff?

“Everything being fake and me being the centre of attention, especially when you have James Marsden there, is such a ludicrous thing to think.”

He added in an interview with TV Guide: “After everything was revealed and then after I came home for the weekend, I started getting paranoid.

“I started freaking out and I was like, ‘I feel like I’m being followed.'”

Gladden spoke to People magazine after the show saying that, though he has now wrapped his head around it, it took ‘months for me to come to the realization that this actually happened and to accept it.’

He also added that, after struggling with knowing what was and wasn’t real and if he was still on the show once filming stopped, he texted James Marsden for reassurance.

He told SiriusXM: “James [Marsden] just being the wonderful human being he is doesn’t write me back at all, he calls me instantly, we talk for thirty, forty-five minutes and he ultimately helped work through these feelings, he assured me there were no cameras which really really helped.”

Pompeii: Italy’s Frozen-in-Time Roman City

Pompeii: Italy’s Frozen-in-Time Roman City

The people of Pompeii woke up and went on with their business as usual on August 24, 79 AD. Although the city experienced some tremors for the last few days they were not worried. They did not realize that these tremors were the signs of a disaster coming their way. On that day, mount Vesuvius erupted. It spew ash, pumice, and actual rocks on fire and darkened the sky. It killed more than 10.000 people and destroyed two cities. Historians believe that the eruption was 100.000 times more powerful than an atomic bomb. The amount of destruction can be seen in Pompeii Ruins some of which survived despite the eruption.

House of the Faun

House of the Faun was the largest and one of the wealthiest houses in Pompeii. The owners built it around 2 BC and the eruption covered it with ash in 1 AD. Excavations reveal the luxurious lifestyle of its owners. Lavish and lively mosaics cover its walls telling stories of battles and myths. Its architecture is Roman in its purest sense maybe even more than some buildings in Rome, historians claim.

The house takes its name from the mythological creature with the same name. Faun is half-goat half human and a small statue of it can be found in the house entrance. One of the mosaics depicts a battle of Alexander the Great in detail. The fact that the battle took place 150 years before the house’s construction shows the owners’ fascination with history.

Thermopolium (snack bar) of Pompeii (~79 AD)

Although the excavated part in Pompeii (which amounts to two-thirds of the old urban area) has 89 thermopolia, small cook-shops where hot food was sold, it does not mean that the wealthy owners of large atrium houses used to dine out. The lower classes frequented such places. When passing through Pompeii, one can see many dwellings and shops within the large houses, which overlook the street and often consist of a single room. Craftsmen and merchants lived and worked here, often living with their families on the upper floors. These homes rarely have a kitchen. Therefore one would dine out, in one of the many thermopolia that offered hot food.

This is the first thermopolium found with a perfectly intact lararium (household shrine) on the wall, with the original colours

Temple of Apollo

The Temple or the Sanctuary of Apollo was the most important religious site of Pompeii. Romans built it as a celebration of Greco-Roman culture near Mount Vesuvius. The followers of Apollo were in many numbers in the beginning. Although the number decreased gradually, the temple stood tall and the people of Pompeii respected it.

The Pompeians conducted many rituals and sacrifices in the temple. Moreover, considering that it is not far from the mountain, it is noteworthy how the temple survived the eruption. Inside the temple there were statues of Apollo and his sister Diana to which people brought gifts and asked for favors. The original statues are in a museum in Naples and their copies are currently on display in Pompeii.

House of the Tragic Poet

The House of the Tragic Poet is one of the peculiar Pompeii ruins currently on show. While the size of the house is not impressive, the inside of the house is quite marvelous. A mosaic in its atrium depicting theatre players getting ready gives the house its name. Although no one is sure of the identity of the owners, it is thought that they all died during the eruption.

Another peculiar aspect of the house is that at its entrance there is a mosaic that reads “Beware of the dog.” This sign may be one of the first beware of the dog signs ever. Moreover, the house is full of frescos and mosaics that are in excellent condition. Stories from mythology, scenes from battles, and daily life greet the visitors. The house is arguably one of the most stylish Pompeii ruins.

Amphitheatre of Pompeii

Right after colonizing Pompeii, the Romans built an amphitheater. Contrary to other amphitheaters in the Roman world, they used stone instead of wood. While the lower entrance belonged to the high-class citizens, the other seats belonged to the commoners. The amphitheater was mainly home to exciting and gory gladiator fights.

The amphitheater supported up to 12.000 spectators but this caused some problems. After a fight between spectators from Pompeii and Nuceria, the emperor closed the amphitheater for 10 years. While the emperor opened it again after an earthquake hit Pompeii, the amphitheater was buried under ash during the eruption.

Villa of the Mysteries

True to its name, the Villa of the Mysteries is a mysterious Pompeii ruin. At its entrance, a name of a freed slave and the statue of Livia, the wife of Emperor Augustus indicate that the villa might have belonged to one of these two. Although historians are not really able to decide who owned the house or what purpose, frescos and mosaics inside the villa offer some insights.

Various frescos on the walls depicting initiation ceremonies tell that this villa belonged to members of a mysterious cult. The frescos show men and women being accepted into the cult in secret. Moreover, the paintings of Dionysus and Maenads in the villa also tell that the mysterious cult was dedicated to the Greek deity, known as Bacchus by Romans.

The Garden of the Fugitives

Maybe the most harrowing and disturbing Pompeii ruins are the actual people who turned to stones due to the fire and ash of the eruption. The place where the 13 bodies are is called the Garden of the Fugitives. Archeologists say that these people were trying to escape the eruption but did not make it. Originally the bodies were in separate groups but are displayed together.

A closer examination of the casts reveals more tragedies. Out of the 13 bodies, 5 or 6 were children including a baby whose bone analysis show that it was only a year old. The body of a woman, possibly a mother, is holding her children’s hands indicating that they were trying to run together. Another body is that of a merchant who is raising his body. This is probably because he did not die when the ash first reached him and he tried to raise himself and run.

What are casts? Are they actually petrified people?

The casts of Pompeii are plaster molds created by Giuseppe Fiorelli in the 19th century. When archaeologists discovered cavities in the volcanic ash, they filled them with plaster, preserving the shapes and final postures of the victims. These casts are not petrified bodies but rather impressions left behind by the bodies, offering a unique and haunting glimpse into the tragic events of the eruption.

Scientists predict Earth could get eighth continent and new ocean sooner than we ever thought

Scientists have revealed where the most likely location an eighth continent could form from

Scientists are predicting that Earth’s eighth continent could develop a lot sooner than initially thought.

We’ll be long dead when/if the eighth continent emerges around the eastern coast of Africa – but it appears that the gap is widening quicker than scientists had anticipated.

But it’s not only a possible new continent we’d need to think about as experts, such as Professor Ken Macdonald of the University of California, have also explained that the separation would likely make a new ocean, too.

Why is there talk of an eighth continent?

So back in 2005, a 35-mile long fissure was discovered in Ethiopia’s desert, which has continued to widen by 6-7mm a year.

This has been caused by movements tectonic plates that are pulling away from one another, creating the Somali and the Nubian plates.

The movement of these plates is basically what causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and if they keep pulling apart then – in theory – it’ll create an eight continent.

Already, you can see from photos that the rift runs through Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania.

When are we likely to have an eighth continent?

Although experts have previously predicted that it’d take tens of millions of years for the process to fully take place, MacDonald reckons it’ll happen in a one to five million years – best case.

As for the potential new ocean, Macdonald added that water from the Indian Ocean ‘would come in and flood what is now the East African Rift Valley’, creating an ocean as potentially deep as the Atlantic.

“In the human life scale, you won’t be seeing many changes. You’ll be feeling earthquakes, you’ll be seeing volcanoes erupt, but you won’t see the ocean intrude in our lifetimes,” he told the Daily Mail. “There’s slippage and faults creating earthquake activity, along with visible signs of active volcanoes.

“In recent years, the main breakthroughs have been figuring out exactly where the branches of this rift system go.

“The northern part was reasonably well understood, going through Djibouti and into Kenya, but going south from there, people really had very little idea.”

He also told Live Science that the rifting pace is ‘very slow, about the rate that one’s toenails grow.’

Where could the eighth continent be?

Ex-NASA consultant Alexandra Doten explained on her Instagram (via The Daily Mail) that Eastern Africa could become it’s own continent following the split, saying: “The line along the border is the African Great Lakes. These are some of the largest lakes on Earth.

“This is 25 percent of all of the unfrozen surface fresh water on the planet, and they already hold about 10 percent of all of Earth’s fish species.

“The lakes formed because Eastern Africa is separating from the rest of the continent. That Somali plate is continuing to move even further east, creating a giant rift valley right here. It keeps going.”

“The rate of extension is fastest in the north, so we’ll see new oceans forming there first,” added professor Sarah Stamps.

“Most previous studies suggested that the extension is localised in narrow zones around microplates that move independently of surrounding larger tectonic plates.”
