Fans finally worked out meaning behind why Will Smith’s kids are called Jaden and Willow

Even though they’re now both in their mid-twenties, the pair’s names are still a point of fascination.

Jaden and Willow Smith might be some of the most famous offspring there’s ever been, yet many fans won’t be aware of the story behind their names.

Son and daughter of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, who’ve been married since 1997, the 26 and 24-year-olds joined their Oscar-winning father in his movies The Pursuit of Happyness and I Am Legend prior to carving out their own respective careers in the music business.

Although they command instant recognition across the globe, the names given to this brother and sister pairing (they also have a step-brother named Trey) have caused much speculation over the years.

In 2022 though, social media users were gobsmacked to learn that the Smith juniors purposefully received these names from their parents.

“Will Smith = Willow Smith. Jada Smith = Jaden Smith. How have I never realised?” read one of the tweets.

Somebody else went on to write: “I feel so dumb for just realizing that Willow and Jaden Smith’s names are just variations of their parent’s names.”

Equally struck by this revelation was a third individual, who added: “I was today years old when I realized Jaden and Willow Smith’s names are just their parents names in different forms???? Goodbye.”

Despite their glorious work in projects like Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Men in Black, King Richard, and The Nutty Professor, the Smiths are more renowned these days for the Oscars slap controversy of 2022.

Having cracked a joke at the expense of Jada – linking her alopecia to GI Jane for comedic purposes – ceremonial host Chris Rock was approached by her husband on stage before being smacked across the face infront of the whose who of Hollywood.

Amid the subsequent backlash, Jaden simply tweeted: ‘And That’s How We Do It,’ while his little sister took her time in addressing the matter.

“I see my whole family as being human, and I love and accept them for all their humanness,” Willow eventually said. “Because of the position that we’re in, our humanness sometimes isn’t accepted, and we’re expected to act in a way that isn’t conducive to a healthy human life and isn’t conducive to being honest.”

Will himself (whose real name may shock you) penned a statement in the immediate aftermath, which read: “My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable.

“The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.”

The 56-year-old also spoke of people potentially being put off his movies by this act of violence.

“I completely understand that, if someone is not ready [to watch one],” he said.

“I would absolutely respect that and allow them their space to not be ready.”

Secretive Space Force ship returns to Earth after spending 434 days in orbit conducting mysterious tests

The USSF spaceplane landed yesterday

A secretive spaceship spending over a year in space doing mysterious tests is surely just the plot of a sci-fi film. Could even be a bit of romance or maybe an action?

But it’s also pretty much what’s been going on in real life.

Yep, a secretive Space Force ship has now returned to Earth after a spending a whopping 434 days in orbit conducting some mysterious tests.

SpaceX quietly launched the boeing-made X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle-7 (OTV-7) back in 2023 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.

The unmanned spaceplane then deorbited and landed at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California yesterday (7 March).

The U.S Space Force (USSF) explained in a statement that it landed the X-37B there to exercise ‘its rapid ability to launch and recover its systems across multiple sites’.

Officials added that it is the seventh successful test flight of one of these vehicles.

The USSF added that, while it was on orbit, a range of test and experimentation objectives were accomplished, demonstrating the X-37B’s ‘robust manoeuvre capability while helping characterize the space domain through the testing of space domain awareness technology experiments’.

Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman said: “Mission 7 broke new ground by showcasing the X-37B’s ability to flexibly accomplish its test and experimentation objectives across orbital regimes.

“The successful execution of the aerobraking manoeuvre underscores the U.S. Space Force’s commitment to pushing the bounds of novel space operations in a safe and responsible manner.”

While us mere muggles might not quite get our heads around just what the spaceplane was doing up and out there, it apparently tested ‘space domain awareness technology experiments’.

And it’s aimed that this will improve the USSF’s (the Trump-made military branch) knowledge of the space environment.

Apparently, this kind of technology is ‘critical’ to the USSF’s ability to conduct space operations.

Commenting on the achievements from this 434 days in orbit, X-37B Program Director, Lt. Col. Blaine Stewart stated: “Mission 7’s operation in a new orbital regime, its novel aerobraking maneuver, and its testing of space domain awareness experiments have written an exciting new chapter in the X-37B program.

“Considered together, they mark a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the U.S. Space Force’s dynamic mission capability.”

Michael Jackson accuser speaks out on 'painful' memories that caused him to have a breakdown

James Safechuck has shared further shocking details of the alleged abuse

Warning: this article discusses sexual abuse which some readers may find distressing.

A man who accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him has told how he had a ‘breakdown’ after being haunted by his childhood memories.

James Safechuck, who appeared in the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland, has long maintained that he was exploited by the King of Pop as a ten-year-old.

He has claimed that Jackson – then aged 30 – plied him with gifts and ‘rewarded him’ with jewellery, while he was allegedly being molested at the Neverland Ranch from 1988 to 1992.

In a new interview, Safechuck has now opened up about the ‘painful’ memories which he says have plagued him throughout his life.

It comes as a sequel to Leaving Neverland is set to air, which sees the 47-year-old and fellow accuser Wade Robson discuss their legal battle against the Jackson estate.

The late singer’s estate has always denied the accusations made by Safechuck, as well as any other accusations of child sex abuse lodged against Jackson.

Safechuck has shared further shocking details of the alleged abuse he suffered as a young boy, alleging Jackson orchestrated ‘one giant seduction’ over himself and his family.

He claimed that sexual abuse ‘would happen [to him] every day’ when he was at Neverland, but said the relationship between him and the ‘Billie Jean’ singer was ‘loving’ – even though it was also ‘deeply unhealthy and inappropriate’.

“That’s the hard part for people to wrap their heads around and why there’s so much shame involved,” he told The Times.

The father-of-three explained these feelings also contributed to his ‘breakdown’, which occurred after his wife gave birth for the first time in 2010.

“Michael made you feel like you did it, that it was all your idea,” Safechuck said. “Then you look at your own kid and for the first time you really realise, what? That just makes no sense.”

He said that he was ‘really into jewellery’ as a ten-year-old and claimed that Jackson cottoned onto this.

Safechuck claimed: “He would reward me with jewellery for doing sexual acts to him. It would happen every day. It sounds sick, but it was like when you are first dating someone – you do a lot of it.”

He says that his ‘understanding of the abuse and what has happened has matured’ over the years.

“I have a better understanding of just the horribleness of what he did, how brutal it was, and some anger has developed,” Safechuck added.

“The sexual acts are shocking to many people, but I lived through them; they are just part of my life. It’s everything around them – the power, the manipulation – that I find the most horrifying.

“It took a little while to get used to having it out there and to get over this fear of everyone knowing.”

Safechuck alleged that Jackson later ‘replaced’ him with younger boys when he reached his teens, however, he claims the late 50-year-old purchased him a car on his 16th birthday.

The dad – who met Jackson at the age of nine while filming a Pepsi advert – also claimed that the star offered to help him get his foot in the door of the entertainment industry.

Safechuck and Robson’s lawsuit against the Jackson estate was revived by a Californian appeals court in 2023, which claims that MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures had a responsibility to protect them.

The judgement explained that a ‘corporation that facilitates the sexual abuse of children by one of its employees is not excused from an affirmative duty to protect those children merely because it is solely owned by the perpetrator of the abuse’.

“It would be perverse to find no duty based on the corporate defendant having only one shareholder,” it continued, as per the BBC. “And so we reverse the judgments entered for the corporations.”

Jonathan Steinsapir, a lawyer for Jackson’s estate, said he was ‘fully confident’ that the pop star was innocent, while saying that the allegations were ‘contrary to all credible evidence and independent corroboration’.

Speaking of the pending court case, Safechuck said: “People might see this as some sensationalised trial. But this is my childhood. I was sexually abused. I was raped. I’m fighting for my younger self.”

Former skydiving instructor details saving student's life after horror accident where both parachutes malfunctioned

David Hartsock was determined to save Shirley Dygert’s life, even if it meant losing his own

A former skydiving instructor has revealed how his quick-thinking managed to save both his and his student’s life after a parachute malfunction.

David Hartsock is a truly inspirational bloke who has somehow managed to find the ‘silver lining’ in the devastating accident which left him paralysed.

Despite dying three times, breaking the C4 and C5 vertebrae in his neck, having two collapsed lungs, and a pair of dislocated arms, he miraculously survived.

So did his student Shirley Dygert – which is all that Hartsock was bothered about when they were both plummeting towards the ground uncontrollably in 2009.

The tandem skydiving instructor was ‘free-falling at 110mph’ while he was strapped to the first-time jumper for the descent from 5,000ft in Texas, according to a GoFundMe page.

Hartsock had actually finished his shift for the day when he was told there was one last student to take out, as he told Inside Edition: “One quick jump, it’s easy.

“Shirley was nice, I introduced myself and told her she was going to be safe.”

Sadly, this was not the case – as when Hartstock deployed their parachute, the canopy became tangled, giving them a jolt which the ex-instructor compared to ‘hitting a concrete wall’.

“It stunned me for a second, we were spinning,” he recalled. “[I was like] ‘Wow, what was that?’ It’s a bad opening and a total malfunction. I’m looking up at the canopy up there and go, ‘What a mess!'”

He reassured Dygert that although they had encountered a ‘little problem’, he could handle it…however, things soon went from bad to worse.

“I ain’t got this,” Hartsock continued. “This is bad, this is very bad. Every second we’re gaining speed and going around in circles.”

Unable to untangle the first parachute, the instructor hung his hopes on their reserve parachute while being well aware he could be dealing with ‘two messes’ if this also became twisted up.

“And sure enough, it opened up and tangled around the other one,” Hartsock said, explaining he then decided that all he could do from there was to try and save Dygert’s life.

“I’m looking all over the ground, like, ‘Okay, where we going to land?’ You can hit a house, you can hit a barn, you can hit an airplane hanger, you can hit a barbed wire fence, a fence post.

“You can hit a tree, you can hit a cow, you can hit a horse. You can hit cow sh*t. But nobody wants to die in that.”

Hartsock spotted a ‘nice big open field to crash on’ while he was extremely conscious of the fact that Dygert’s son and husband were watching down below.

“She seemed relatively calm, surprisingly, and I found out later that she figured we were dead – she was not calm at all,” he said of the first-time jumper. “She was praying the entire time.”

Hartsock heroically decided to pull on the control toggles ‘as hard as he could’ to place himself underneath his student, which would hopefully break her fall.

Recalling what was running through his mind, he said: “That way I’ll land and she’ll land on top of me. I figured we’re both dead anyways, but I might as well try this. At least one of us might survive.

“I’m thinking about trying to save her from dying in front of her family. I yanked down on those lines hard as I could, while I’m dislocating both arms.”

The pair both hit the ground at approximately 40-60 mph, leaving them both ‘stunned for a minute’.

Hartsock continued: “Then I heard Shirley and she goes, ‘Can we get up?’ I’m thinking, ‘Ah, she’s alive!’ I told let’s just wait for the ground crew to get here and that was it. That’s the last thing I remember.”

He woke up a month and a half later to an array of devastating injuries and faced a gruelling recovery, but although he says life as a quadriplegic ‘is no picnic’, he doesn’t regret his actions on that day.

“Two months in ICU, two months at a long-term rehab facility and then another two months at Tier before I came home,” Hartsock said. “The accident was 1 August, 2009, and the first time I came home was 10 February, 2010.

“[Dygert] lost partial function of the left kidney, she wound up having to have half five spinal fusions over the years. But other than that, she was able to return back to work. Scoreboard! Yeah!

“So for me, that was a win-win. Because my job was to take care of her and she was able to go about her life now, just like normal.”

He said he wasn’t ‘bitter’ about Dygert coming off better than him, as that’s exactly what he intended.

“Let’s start looking for the silver lining,” he added. “And there’s always a silver lining, no matter how bad it is. People find the story inspirational and write incredible things about how I’m such a hero.

“The positive side is the way it makes people feel, the way they interpret the story. And, you know? It’s the price you pay for fame,” he joked.

“Even positives or doing the right thing can have negative consequences. This is just a consequence of doing the right thing.”

Hartsock has come on leaps and bounds since 2009, however, he now requires 24-hour care and has been struggling with the cost of medical supplies.

Donald Trump has blunt response to reporter after being asked about Elon Musk and Marco Rubio

The POTUS wasn’t best pleased with the reporter’s line of questioning

Donald Trump cut a reporter off mid-question when grilled about Elon Musk and Marco Rubio.

Rubio, the United States Secretary of State, reportedly came to blows with the tech mogul during at the White House on Thursday (March 6).

According to the New York Post, Musk — the head of The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — accused Rubio of refusing to cut back on his number of staff. In fact, Musk allegedly said that Rubio had fired ‘nobody’.

Apparently, Rubio has been unhappy with Musk ever since his DOGE team ‘effectively shuttered an entire agency that was supposedly under Mr. Rubio’s control’, says the newspaper.

With the reports of tensions between Musk and Rubio in mind, President Trump was asked about the matter yesterday (March 7).

NBC journalist Gabe Gutierrez attempted to broach the topic with Trump, but he was quickly (and brutally) shot down.

Trump fumed: “No clash. I was there. You’re just a troublemaker.

“You’re not supposed to be asking that question, because we’re talking about the World Cup,” the POTUS continued in his telling-off.

“Elon gets along great with Marco, and they’re both doing a fantastic job. There is no clash.”

Trump proceeded to ask Gutierrez which outlet he was with, and when he said NBC, the president replied: “Ugh, no wonder. That’s enough. NBC.”

While the meeting seemingly descended into chaos, the president described it as ‘very positive’.

He penned on Truth Social: “We just had a meeting with most of the Secretaries, Elon, and others, and it was a very positive one.

“It’s very important that we cut levels down to where they should be, but it’s also important to keep the best and most productive people. We’re going to have these meetings every two weeks until that aspect of this very necessary job is done.

“The relationships between everybody in that room are extraordinary. They all want to get to the exact same place, which is, simply, to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Elsewhere in the post, Trump gushed about the ‘incredible success’ DOGE has had so far.

As of March 5, the Musk-headed department claims that it’s saved an estimated $105 billion — a huge increase from the savings reported last month.

As of figures posted on the DOGE website on February 24, it was said that the agency had saved $65 billion.

These figures are yet to be verified, however, as the likes of The New York Times has said that the DOGE site is supposedly ‘riddled with mistakes’.

Trump insists he wants to make progress for peacetalks

Donald Trump has taken another dig at Ukraine as he reflects on the progress of peace talks.

Donald Trump had a very public bust up with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting at the end of February, and it seems the pair are still struggling to see eye to eye.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Friday (March 7), Trump reflected on how well peace talks have been going.

He said the US is ‘doing very well with Russia’, and ‘it may be easier dealing with’ Moscow than Kyiv at this point.

However, a few hours earlier, Trump did say he was ‘strongly considering’ large scale sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire with Ukraine was reached.

This threat from Trump is reportedly in response to a large-scale attack Russia conducted on Thursday using missiles and drones to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Trump explained he was considering the tariffs because ‘Russia is absolutely pounding Ukraine on the battlefield right now’.

A few hours later, and Trump would end up complimenting Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying he was acting as anyone would in his position.

Trump said: “I think he’s hitting them [Ukraine] harder than he’s been hitting them.

“And I think probably anyone in that position would be doing that right now.”

Trump has also said he knows that Putin wants to end the war, but has his doubts regarding Ukraine.

When asked why the US has recently cut of military aid to Ukraine, Trump also said: “I want to know they [Ukraine] want to settle and I don’t know they want to settle.”

After the fiery meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian leader issued a statement insisting he was committed to finding a peaceful resolution.

The statement read: “None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.

“We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same.

X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle safely landed at the Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, yesterday (March 7)

Space Force’s super secret aircraft has successfully made it back to Earth.

The Boeing-made X-37B spacecraft has garnered attention of late after US Space Force gave space fans a rare glimpse into what its been up to on its recent mission.

X-37B is been on seven missions over the past 15 years, with its most recent one starting in 2023.

Over the course of its seven missions, the Earth’s been orbited by X-37B for more than 4,000 days.

In a rare update issued last month, Space Force posted a photo of our planet seen from X-37B in space.

An X-37B onboard camera, used to ensure the health and safety of the vehicle, captures an image of Earth while conducting experiments in HEO in 2024.The X-37B executed a series of first-of-kind maneuvers, called aerobraking, to safely change its orbit using minimal fuel.

“An X-37B onboard camera, used to ensure the health and safety of the vehicle, captures an image of Earth while conducting experiments in HEO [Highly Elliptical Orbit] in 2024,” the post shared to Twitter read.

And now the test vehicle has safely made it home and landed at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, yesterday (March 7), after being in orbit for 434 days.

During its time in space, the aircraft ‘accomplished a range of test and experimentation objectives intended to demonstrate the X-37B’s robust maneuver capability while helping characterize the space domain through the testing of space domain awareness technology experiments’, said the government body.

Speaking about the success of its seventh mission in light of the aircraft’s return, Chief of Space Operations Gen. “The successful execution of the aerobraking maneuver underscores the U.S. Space Force’s commitment to pushing the bounds of novel space operations in a safe and responsible manner.”

Elsewhere, the mission was dubbed as an ‘incredibly important milestone’.

Explaining why it was such a big moment for the US Space Force, it comes down to the test vehicle trying out an aerobraking maneuver.

“The use of the aerobraking maneuver — a series of passes using the drag of Earth’s atmosphere — enables the spacecraft to change orbits while expending minimal fuel,” Space Force’s website states.

And X-37B successfully performed the maneuver in question.

Speaking ahead of Missino 7 drawing to a close, Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall said that the ‘novel and efficient series of maneuvers demonstrates the Space Force’s commitment to achieving groundbreaking innovation as it conducts national security missions in space’.

The attempt at doing the maneuver was the first time that X-37B had tried to carry it out.

Disturbing reason iconic McDonald’s clown Ronald McDonald quietly disappeared from everything

The reason isn’t actually tied to their rebrand

For a certain generation, going to McDonald’s and seeing its mascot, clown Ronald McDonald, was part of the iconic experience, but the food company got rid of him for an odd reason.

McDonald’s used to be the best spot to host a birthday party as a kid, but oh, how much the world has changed.

Part of this wonderful experience was taking pictures with the fast food company’s mascot, Ronald McDonald. Either posing alongside a worker in costume or the permanent statue, it was quite the experience.

Obviously, this only really applied if you didn’t mind clowns.

Ronnie very much divided opinion back in the day, as you either loved him or hated him.

But thinking about it, you may have noticed Ronald hasn’t been seen on any McDonald’s marketing for a long while. Well, this is beause the fast-food chain decided to phase out the character altogether in 2016 due to a disturbing social media trend.

Cast your mind back eight years ago, and you may remember the viral trend that saw people dressing up as sinister-looking clowns. Folks would often share snaps of them in clown costumes on social media, with the trend taking a rather disturbing turn.

It got to the point where people would rock up to schools across the US dressed as clowns. And things got massively out of hand as a Florida family were attacked by a group of 20 people wearing clown masks.

Because of the social media trend, clowns went from a childhood entertainment to the stuff of nightmares.

McDonald’s ultimately decided to ditch Ronald in the end due to the public opinion of clowns shifting.

A statement from the fast food company at the time read: “McDonald’s and franchises in the local markets are mindful of the current climate around clown sightings in communities and as such are being thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald’s participation in community events for the time being.”

Willard Scott, the original portrayer of the McDonald’s mascot, sadly passed away at the age of 87 in 2021.

Back in 1987, Scott offered some insight into playing the famed character.

He told the New York Times: “I just love people. A lot of speakers on the talk circuit leave right afterward… I do a lot of shmoozing. I’m like a dog. You just open the door and I go, ‘rrrr, rrrr,’ and then I lick everybody’s face.”

iPhone users are urged to stop doing one thing when they charge their phone

One quick trick can help you increase your phones lifespan – and it takes under 20 seconds to do!

We’ve all been charging our cell phones wrong, be it an iPhone, a Samsung or whatever other device you have.

Have you ever noticed after a year or two that your battery life on your mobile drains much faster than it used to? You have, I have, we all have. There’s a couple reasons for that.

Counterfeit charges 'pose a risk of death', according to Apple (Getty stock)

Counterfeit charges ‘pose a risk of death’, according to Apple (Getty stock)

One thing is because we should all strictly only charge our iPhone with an Apple charger, especially as the cheaper ‘knock-off’ versions are a safety risk – with them being more likely to catch fire.

Apple writes: “You can also charge iPhone with ‘Made for iPhone’ or other third-party cables and power adapters that are compliant with USB 2.0 or later and with applicable country regulations and international and regional safety standards.

“Other adapters may not meet applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters could pose a risk of death or injury.”

But that’s not what we’re here to talk about today, it’s just some useful advice. No, we’re here to speak about not allowing your battery to charge to 100 percent.

It might not look as aesthetically pleasing as a full bar does, but it will certainly save your phone’s lifespan.

Setting your iPhone's charging limit to 95 percent could help increase your device's lifespan (Apple)

Setting your iPhone’s charging limit to 95 percent could help increase your device’s lifespan (Apple)

This is because a full charged battery is prone to experience stress, which in turn takes a hit on hits health, meaning it will degrade much faster.

So charging to 95 percent is one way you could stretch your iPhone’s lifespan.

Fortunately, iPhones have optimized battery charging installed into them which is designed to reduce the wear on your device’s battery and thus improve its lifespan, by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged.

When the feature is enabled, your iPhone will delay charging past 80 percent in certain situations, and it uses an algorithm to establish your daily charging routines.

Optimized Battery Charging is on by default when you set up your iPhone (Apple)

Optimized Battery Charging is on by default when you set up your iPhone (Apple)

Explaining how to improve battery lifespan with its ‘charging limit’, Apple writes: “With iPhone 15 models and later, if the charge limit is 100 percent, you can also turn on Optimized Battery Charging. Your iPhone has these settings by default.

“Your iPhone will charge to within a few percentage points of your chosen limit and then stop charging. If the battery charge level drops more than 5 percent while connected to power, charging will resume, again charging to within a few points of your chosen limit.

“If iOS determines that a charge limit will help preserve your battery’s lifespan, you’ll see a recommendation. For example, you might see “Based on your iPhone habits, a charge limit of 95% is recommended to help preserve your battery.”

Ashley Robinson lost 26 pounds in just seven days, but still doctors didn’t take his case seriously he explained

With just months to go until his wedding, Ashley Robinson began experiencing stomach issues, but when he took those complaints to his doctor, he was dismissed.

The 35-year-old shockingly lost 26 pounds in just seven days, and when doctors finally listened to his wife’s desperate plea for them to see him, he was told he had stage four bowel cancer that had spread to his liver – and a tumor the size of an orange in his colon.

In July last year, Robinson married his partner Jasmin, but the preparation for it was far from easy as he was working 60-hour weeks as a chef to help fund the big do.

Two months prior to that, the Brit began passing ‘quite a lot of blood’ during his bowel movements.

“In June, it started getting worse, and I rang my GP but they said that it wasn’t serious, told me not to worry and that it would pass in a week or so,” Robinson, of Dacorum in Hertfordshire, said.

“I told them that it had already been going on for a month but they just said to leave it another week.”

He assumed it was simply just stress-related and admitted he probably would have taken the ordeal more seriously, had he not had so much going on in his life.

Robinson continued: “It got really bad and I passed the most insane amount of blood so I phoned my GP and they told me to go to A&E [the UK version of the ER] straight away.

“When I saw the doctor I mentioned to him that my great nan had died of colon cancer but he said there was no chance and that I was too young.

“I went home with medication and took that for two weeks but nothing changed.”

With his bachelor party on the horizon he opted to push it to the back of his mind and deal with it later, as every health professional he had seen told him that he ‘definitely didn’t have cancer’, he explained.

“They were saying ‘you’re fine, don’t worry, go and get married’ so I took their word for it,” Robinson said.

After their wedding he wanted to know exactly what was up with him, as he had shed 26 pounds in a short period of time.

“I went back to my GP. I rang them three or four times and they wouldn’t see me. They said there was nothing wrong with me or that it was just piles,” Robinson shared.

“My wife went down there while I was at work. She stormed in there and forced them to see me.

“They got me in but my GP said they still didn’t think I had cancer, but they put me forward for a colonoscopy. That’s when they found a tumour the size of an orange in my colon.”

He continued: “I was dreading getting the [biopsy] results back. I was told I had stage 4 colon cancer, which had spread to my liver. It was the worst news possible.

“It’s so hard to put into words the hammer blow, it absolutely crushed my wife. Aside from it happening to her, it was the worst possible news I ever could have had.”
