Truck driver Ashley Hale revealed his surprisingly high wage on his YouTube channel

This professional truck driver might make you rethink what you do for a living after sharing a payslip of how much he earns a year.

For those who like a routine though, being a truck driver is probably not for you.

The idea of heading through a low lit road late at night when you should be sleeping sounds pretty lonely, not to mention scary.

It takes a lot of concentration to be a truck driver, particularly when you’re dealing with crazy weather conditions, as is the case at the moment.

But when it comes to the UK, we have around 268,000 people working as lorry drivers, as of 2021, which 16 percent down from 2017, according to ONS stats.

That being said, Ashley Hale loves his work and documents his time on the road on his YouTube channel.

Underneath one of his videos, he revealed that he would earn about £52,000 a year from truck driving.

In the clip, he was told by a viewer that what people ‘actually want to know’ is how much they could potentially make doing the job and that this could be an incentive to get people in the industry.

He explained in a video where he revealed his payslip that he would be sharing the wage he received from his previous job, and not from his current employer.

Ashley shared that he didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable at his company while talking about his wage, and instead would talk about a company that no longer exists and made him redundant.

He shared that at his previous job, he worked all week in the vehicle and his pay reflects that specific role of a ‘tramper’.

Putting the payslip up on the screen for viewers to see, he explained that he made £625 per a 45-hour week at work.

That would amount to around £32,500 per year, which is pretty average in the UK.

However, it was the perks that bumped it up to about £52,000.

Speaking to his viewers, he said that overtime was paid at double the standard rate, which was an estimated additional £261 per week.

He also received £3 as a weekly bonus for working ‘unsociable hours’ such as evening driving shifts.

If his performance was on par with his targets, he’d also receive an extra £40 for his hard work.

Then, he’d get around £100 for a ‘nights out’ allowance to reimburse him for accommodation or meals when he was working nights.

So, all in all, that would work out to be about £1,000 per week and just under £53k a year.

Ashley must be rolling in cash – just unable to spend it if he’s working long shifts and on the road all the time.

His commenters were pleased with his breakdown and felt as though the role was more appealing now, they know how much they could earn.

Someone wrote: “H G V are good people and should be paid well.”

Another commented: “This is fantastic, I am considering a career change and plan to get my licence next year. This is fantastic insight.”

Someone else wrote: “Awwww thats quality mate, you must be doing a great job to earn your performance bonus, keep it up!”

Katie has been struggling with her health since an acid attack in 2008

Katie Piper has delivered a health update to her fans after a long battle.

The Loose Women panel star and model has been very open about her years of struggle with her health.

Katie, who has been an ambassador and activist since her tragic attack in 2008 at the hands of her former boyfriend and an accomplice, is no stranger to surgical operations.

She was just 24 years old when her ex, Daniel Lynch, 47, began to plot against her and decided he wanted to destroy her beauty with acid.

In March of that year, he enlisted the help of Stefan Sylvestre, who since fled the country to avoid capture, which saw him douse Katie in acid in broad daylight in the street.

Since then, she has needed to undergo 400 operations to heal from the injuries caused.

But if anyone has been following her journey, they’ll know that one of her eyes has been troubling her for some time.

While Lynch failed to take her beauty from her, given that she is both stunning inside and out, she endured physical harm at the hands of his orchestrated plan, and her battle continues today.

Katie shared her latest update yesterday (Friday 10 December) and revealed that she will be having another surgery to protect her left eye through the use of a prosthetic eye shell.

She wrote on social media: “After many years battling with my eye health, I’ve reached the end of road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell.

“This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me. As always I’m incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS and private health care system for their talent and kindness.”

The model added: “I will share my journey, I’m hopeful and nervous about being able tolerate it and would love to hear from any of you in the comments if you’ve been on this journey or have any advice…”

Her post included a picture of herself during the process, as well as a video of her doctor inserting the new eye.

Underneath her honest post, followers flocked to wish her well and praise her continued strength.

One user wrote: “You’re very brave Katie x I’ve been following your journey since your first documentary and I always get so excited every time I hear you’re doing something new or featuring in something new x you’re very brave x be kind to yourself”.

Whilst another added: “Oh wow, I have been inspired by you for years and you always keep inspiring. You’ve got this.”

Fans will recall that at the end of 2023, the presenter shared that after a previous eye surgery, things were not progressing well, as she said in an Instagram video: “I’ve spent the morning back at the eye clinic as I’ve got problems with my eye.

“I’ve got a defect and an infection that is becoming really hard to treat.”

Hopefully, after the prosthetic is completed, she will now be able to continue without so much trouble from her eye.

Deborra-Lee Furness dished the dirt on her sex life with the Wolverine star before they split in 2023

Couples who have a few years of marriage under their belt will often try all sorts to keep things interesting in the bedroom.

But Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness didn’t have to put much effort into spicing things up throughout their 27 years together as husband and wife.

The Australian actress, 69, revealed that she felt that sleeping with her former spouse was like ‘always having affairs’ due to his line of work.

Nearly three decades after they tied the knot in April 1996, the pair announced they were going their separate ways.

A statement announcing the film stars’ split in September 2023 explained: “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.

“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.

“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

Jackman and Furness – who who first met in 1995 on the Aussie TV series Corelli – share two children, Oscar, 24, and 19-year-old Ava.

The Wolverine actor took on a host of incredible roles throughout the course of their relationship, including that of the animalistic superhero – even though his former wife initially advised him against it as she thought it was ‘ridiculous’.

He also starred in the likes of Van Helsing, The Prestige, The Fountain, Real Steel and Les Misérables, forcing him to chop and change his appearance for each character over the years.

And during an interview in 2013 with Town & Country Magazine, Furness revealed that this was one of the perks of being married to an A-list actor.

At the time, Jackman had been forced to regrow his beard for another Wolverine film and his then-wife was asked to share her thoughts on her his look.

The Shame star admitted that she was a fan of her fella’s facial hair, before adding: “But I like him clean-shaven.

“I like him all ways: chubby, muscly, skinny,” she continued, before joking: “I’m always having affairs!”

Furness then quipped: “Don’t make that [the] headline!”

Film fans spotted that a joke about her and Jackman’s divorce had been included in last year’s massive Marvel release, Deadpool and Wolverine.

Jackman joined back up with Ryan Reynolds for the movie, which also featured a series of of ‘wild’ cameos from celebs.

Amidst all the action, people picked up on a one-liner in the film which seemingly poked fun at the actor’s split from Furness.

In one scene, Deadpool makes a reference to Wolverine’s yellow costume as he jokingly says: “This is Logan. He’s usually shirtless but he’s let himself go since the divorce.”

Jackman has clearly still got it though, as it is rumoured that he and Broadway star Sutton Foster are now an item after they were pictured holding hands in California last week.

At Grandpa’s funeral, 18-year-old Dahlia feels isolated as her family fumes over the pitiful $1 inheritance. But when a stranger slips her a secret note, Dahlia is pulled into a mystery only she can solve.

I stood by the graveside, hands clenched in the pockets of my too-small black dress, listening to the priest’s droning voice blend with the rustle of the wind.

This was the saddest day of my life, but everyone else in the family seemed more concerned with glaring at each other than mourning Grandpa.

I could feel their bitterness lingering in the chilly October air, thick like syrup. One dollar each. That’s all Grandpa left us in his will, and they were furious. But me? I wasn’t angry. Just… hollow.

Grandpa wasn’t supposed to be gone. He was the only person who ever saw me, not the mess-up or the spare kid nobody paid attention to, but me. He let me in when no one else cared.

I stared down at the flowers resting on his coffin. I’d brought him a red rose, and it stood out among the white daisies everyone else had placed on the casket.

“One dollar,” Aunt Nancy hissed from behind me. “One damn dollar! That man was loaded, and this is what we get?”

Uncle Vic let out a bitter laugh. “Right? I swear he did it on purpose, the spiteful old man.”

“Typical Dad,” Mom muttered, crossing her arms tight across her chest. “He always played favorites, and Dahlia here was his little pet. Bet she got something we don’t know about.”

Aunt Nancy’s eyes cut toward me, sharp as glass. “What did he leave you, Dahlia? Anything? Don’t act like you didn’t get something.”

I stiffened. “I got the same as all of you.”

Mom’s fingers tightened over my shoulder. “Are you sure?” she asked in a low voice. “You were always with him. Maybe he told you something… think hard, Dahlia. You owe it to your family to share whatever he gave you.”

Memories came rushing back of Grandpa’s goofy stories about long-lost treasure and the butterscotch candies he always kept in his coat pocket.

Sometimes, he’d wink at me and say, “One day, kiddo, I’m leaving you a treasure. Real treasure!” But it was just a game, a joke between us.

I shook my head and turned my gaze back to the coffin. “What Grandpa gave me was his love, his stories, and a place that felt more like home than my actual home. Those things were worth more than money, and there’s no way I can—”

“Nobody cares about any of that!” Mom snapped. “Think, girl! What happened to all of his money?”

I shrugged. I truly didn’t know the answer to her question and didn’t care. Grandpa was gone. He was my confidant, my safe place, my friend. I’d lost the most important person in the world, but all they cared about was slapping a price tag on his death.

“She knows something,” Vic muttered, loud enough for me to hear.

Their voices twisted together, accusing, scheming — like they could squeeze secrets out of me if they tried hard enough. But I had no secrets that could earn them more money.

The second they realized there’d be no fortune, they turned away from the grave and stormed off. I could still hear them bickering as they walked away, lashing out at each other like vultures. It made me sick.

“You must be Dahlia.”

I looked up to see a woman, maybe in her 60s, with kind eyes and a worn leather bag slung over her shoulder. Her smile was soft and secretive, like she knew something the rest of us didn’t.

“I was a friend of your grandpa’s,” she said, leaning in as if we were co-conspirators. “He asked me to give you this.”

Before I could respond, she slipped a folded piece of paper into my hand and whispered, “Don’t let anyone see it, especially your family.”

Her presence felt surreal, almost dreamlike, and before I could say anything, she was gone, swallowed by the crowd of mourners. My heart pounded in my chest as I unfolded the note.

111 locker — Southern Railway Station.

For a second, I stood frozen, the words blurring in front of me. Then it hit me: Grandpa’s “treasure.” A laugh bubbled up from my throat, inappropriate and wild, but I couldn’t help it. He wasn’t joking after all.

That night, I lay in bed staring at the ceiling. The note was tucked under my pillow like a secret. Grandpa’s voice echoed in my mind, playful yet certain: “Locker number 111… There’s treasure in there, kiddo!”

A weight settled on my chest, something between grief and hope. What if this wasn’t just some wild goose chase? What if Grandpa had really left something for me, hidden away where no one else could reach?

The thought twisted around in my mind until I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to know what was in that locker.

I called a cab the next morning. It was the first thing I did after I woke up. As I tiptoed past the kitchen, I could hear Mom muttering on the phone about Grandpa’s will, probably trying to squeeze sympathy or cash out of anyone who would listen.

I clenched my jaw and slipped out the door, the chilly morning air hitting my skin like a slap.

The ride to Southern Railway Station felt like the longest 20 minutes of my life.

My knee bounced with nervous energy as the cab wound through narrow streets, past graffiti-covered walls, and empty coffee shops just starting to open. The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror but didn’t say a word.

When we finally pulled up at the station, I stepped out and asked him to wait for me. I clutched the note tightly as I entered the train station.

The station smelled like diesel and stale popcorn. People rushed past me in every direction — commuters, travelers, strangers with places to go.

I hesitated at the entrance, suddenly feeling small and out of place. But then Grandpa’s voice floated back into my mind, steady and reassuring: “Real treasure, kiddo.”

I took a deep breath and headed toward the lockers and I could hear my heart pounding. Rows of metal boxes lined the wall, each one looking identical: gray, dented, and slightly rusty.

My eyes scanned the numbers until I found number 111.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out the folded note. The key was taped to the back. With trembling fingers, I peeled it off and slid it into the lock.

For a second, it jammed, and I panicked. But then — click! The lock turned, and the door swung open.

Inside was a duffel bag. It was old, faded, and heavy. My hands shook as I pulled it out and unzipped it.

The bag was full of cash. Bundles upon bundles of it!

I gasped, my mind reeling. It couldn’t be real, could it? I reached in and pulled out a stack, flipping through crisp hundred-dollar bills. There had to be at least $150,000 in there.

And tucked inside the bag was another note, written in Grandpa’s messy scrawl:

For my beloved granddaughter, everything I saved is now yours. Take it and live free, kiddo. The rest of the family may not see your worth, but I’ve always believed in you.

Tears blurred my vision, and I hugged the note to my chest, a knot forming in my throat. This wasn’t just money. It was freedom — a way out.

Grandpa always knew how badly I needed to escape this family. And now, he’d given me exactly what I needed and tricked everyone else in the process!

I zipped the bag shut, slung it over my shoulder, and walked out of the station, my heart pounding in tune with my footsteps.

The early morning sun was just starting to peek through the clouds, casting everything in a soft, golden light. For the first time in years, I felt… light.

During the cab ride back, I stared out the window, watching the city come to life. I had options now. No more suffocating family dinners, no more being ignored or treated like an afterthought, no more being the family scapegoat.

I could leave. I could build something new.

The thought scared me as much as it excited me, but Grandpa’s voice echoed in the back of my mind: “Live free, kiddo.”

As the cab pulled up to my house, I made my decision. I wasn’t staying. Not another minute!

I didn’t even bother going inside. I pulled out my phone, booked a ticket to anywhere, and told the driver to head straight to the airport.

I was free. And for the first time in my life, I knew exactly what that meant.

Here’s another story: When I stepped into the run-down house my grandfather left me, I was already overwhelmed by grief, and the pressure of my uncertain future. But as I sorted through his belongings, a faint, eerie sound broke the silence — a baby crying in the basement! What I found down there changed everything. Click here to keep reading.

Starting from humble beginnings, where he wore shoes three sizes too small and lived in a cramped trailer with his struggling family, this actor went from small roles and waiting tables to leading some of the biggest film franchises. Take a closer look at his story.

Born into a working-class family in a small town, this future star spent his early years learning the harsh realities of life. His parents, Kathleen Louise and Daniel Clifton, worked hard to keep their heads above water, but money was always tight.

His mother held a job as a grocery store checker, and his father was a construction worker — a tough man who knew the value of hard work. Despite their efforts, financial security always seemed out of reach.

The family eventually settled in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he grew up alongside his older siblings, Cully and Angie. Life wasn’t easy for the family, who struggled to provide the basics, including clothes and shoes that fit.

It wasn’t unusual for the boy to wear shoes that were far too small, with his toes sticking out the front. “We always had the lamest shoes. And shoes were so important as a kid!” he recalled.

Winning $85 during a bingo game with his mom was one of the rare moments when he could indulge in something he wanted. “[…] I bought a pair of Reebok Pumps,” he shared.

“Dude, I wore those shoes for three years. They got so small for me that I had to take a razor and cut the pump out to buy myself some more space,” he added.

Even then, he couldn’t bring himself to throw them away. “You could still see the basketball on the tongue, but there was no pump system in there. I loved those pumps,” the actor revealed.

These small triumphs, however, were overshadowed by significant losses. His family lost their home while he was in high school, forcing them to move into a rental. When his parents later offered him a loft in a shed outside their trailer, he declined and chose to live with a friend instead.
His father’s declining health added to the family’s hardships. A hard man by nature, his dad became even more withdrawn and bitter after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. “He had lost interest in life,” the actor recalled.

“He refused to take any medication or do anything like physical therapy,” he shared. The illness took a toll on his father’s already tough demeanor. “He was pretty ornery to begin with, and that just made him more ornery.”

As the young man grew older, he began to take odd jobs to help make ends meet. He waited tables, attended a local community college for a short time, and even tried his hand at sales, going door-to-door selling coupons. “I was great at that,” he said.

Despite these efforts, his life lacked direction. He briefly considered joining the military, but his brother, who had enlisted in the Army, advised against it. “I think he saw something in me,” the actor shared. “I was a peculiar kid. […] I dressed funny and was comfortable in my own skin.”

Though he had an unshakable spirit, his family’s struggles left emotional scars. His father’s stoic and old-school approach to parenting, often through what he called “emotional scarification,” shaped his sense of humor.

“Early on, I developed humor as a self-defense mechanism — I developed Andy, really,” he explained, referencing the beloved character that would later make him a household name.

Yet, his father’s influence remained strong, even as his health deteriorated. The boy admired his dad’s toughness, though it came at a cost. “My brother and I talk about it,” he said. “Part of us appreciate that he made us tough […].”

Eventually, a friend sent him a plane ticket to Maui, where he began living out of a van on the beach. He spent much of his early twenties in limbo, moving from one odd job to the next, unsure of what path to take.

It was during this period of aimlessness that he found religion. But at the time, no one could have predicted his future success.

Despite the challenges, this young man never lost his sense of individuality or humor — qualities that would later set him apart in an industry known for rejection and unpredictability. He didn’t yet know it, but life was leading him toward a career that would change everything.

From Living in a Van to Leading Hollywood Blockbusters

The pivotal moment that set Chris Pratt’s career in motion came when he was living in Maui, working as a waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., and sleeping in a van on the beach.

He landed the lead role in a low-budget horror, “Cursed: Part III.” While the film didn’t put him on the map, it did pay him $700.

“That $700 lasted me one year,” he revealed. Determined to make it in Hollywood, Pratt moved to Los Angeles and hustled for every role he could find.

He lived cheaply, waited tables, and took small roles in big movies or leading roles in tiny productions. “I was an outsider, no connections, no nepotism, nothing. A complete foreigner to Hollywood,” he said.

His big break came with the TV drama “Everwood,” where he played Bright Abbott. The show ran for four seasons, and Pratt credits it as his first life-changing role.

“That’s when I became an actor, and that was the first time I’d ever got into money, real money,” he shared. His natural charisma landed him more TV roles, including a stint as Ché on “The O.C.,” but it wasn’t until he joined the cast of “Parks and Recreation” in 2009 that Pratt became a household name.

Initially cast for a temporary role as the goofy Andy Dwyer, Pratt’s character quickly became a fan favorite. His portrayal of the lovable slacker resonated with audiences, and the writers kept him on as a series regular.

“Andy on ‘Parks and Rec’ was my clown that I had honed my entire life,” Pratt said. “A guy who’s affable, who’s an intelligent person playing a dumb person.”

Around this time, he met actress Anna Faris while filming the romantic comedy “Take Me Home Tonight.” The two fell in love, got married, and welcomed their son, Jack, and it seemed like Pratt’s personal and professional life had fallen into place.

His transition from television to film marked a significant turning point. In 2014, his career skyrocketed when he landed the role of Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The film was a massive hit, transforming him into a bona fide movie star. That same year, he voiced Emmet in the animated blockbuster “The Lego Movie,” another smash hit that further solidified his position in Hollywood.

The following year, Pratt became the face of the “Jurassic Park” franchise revival with “Jurassic World.” The film became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time and established Pratt as a leading man.

His success continued with roles in “The Magnificent Seven” alongside Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, and “Passengers,” where he starred opposite Jennifer Lawrence.

Despite his newfound stardom, Pratt never forgot his humble beginnings. In 2019, he returned to the Bubba Gump restaurant where he had once waited tables and shared a reflective post on Instagram.

“Twenty years ago I was a waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. Every time I go back I’m reminded of the thousands of shrimp I ate off of people’s plates on the way back to the kitchen. Please tip your server. Leave at least 20%. Also leave some shrimp,” the caption read.

When asked about achieving his dream, Pratt acknowledged that his goals have evolved over time. “Originally, the dream was to pay my bills by doing nothing other than acting. I got there and that was great. Then it was great to extend it more and more,” he said.

“Then it was like, pay my bills doing nothing but acting, but also do roles that are more than just the douche, the bad guy. Those are the roles that I was originally getting,” the actor added.

“Then it was to do sidekick roles, and then it was to do comedy and pay my bills doing that. Now I’ve crossed over this line where I actually say no to stuff. I could never have fathomed that I would say no to a paying acting gig,” he continued.

Over the years, Pratt’s personal life also took a new turn. After parting ways with Faris, he married author Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger. The couple welcomed their second child, Eloise, in 2020.

When asked about his famous father-in-law, Pratt offered a sweet glimpse into his thoughtful side, “Gift-giving is absolutely one of his love languages. The most thoughtful gifts you could imagine, like quilts with all of the baby’s pictures on it.”

Despite his success, the “Parks and Recreation” star remains deeply connected to his roots. He often reflects on his father, whose passing in 2014 left a lasting impact.

Pratt sees pieces of his father in himself, both in his appearance and mannerisms. “Physically, we look similar, I guess. And sometimes I hear his voice coming out of my mouth — some of the things he says, some of the things I would say,” he said.

Blackhead Removal: 9 Steps to Get Rid of Blackheads on the Face

Blackheads, also known as comedones, are one of the most common skin disorders. They are caused mainly by increased sebum production, which ca clog the pores, especially in the face, neck and torso. The accumulation of sebum and increased oiliness can also cause skin inflammation and infection, leading to the appearance of acne. For this reason, it is essential to start treating blackheads early and with a specialized professional.

Some care, such as washing the skin with cold water and mild soap, exfoliating and using natural products to reduce skin oil, such as green clay, are recommended to achieve healthier and more uniform skin. These methods can help to remove blackheads and prevent the appearance of pimples.

Cosmetic treatments, such as deep skin cleansing, chemical or crystal peeling and microneedling, also help to reduce the appearance of blackheads. They are normally indicated when daily care is not enough. It is essential that these procedures are recommended by a dermatologist or a professional specializing in advanced cosmetics.

How to remove blackheads at home

To remove blackheads, it is important to be very careful, as incorrect techniques can lead to skin damage.

To remove blackheads at home, you can follow these steps:

  1. Wash your face with cold or warm water and neutral soap.
  2. Exfoliate the skin, using light circular movements for about 3 minutes. Then rinse the exfoliant from the skin with warm water.
  3. Apply steam to the skin for about 5 minutes, repeating this technique until the skin is very moist.
  4. Wrap the tips of your index fingers with sterile gauze and, using light movements, bring your fingers close to the blackhead you want to remove.
  5. Apply light pressure to the blackhead, without causing redness or irritation to the skin.
  6. Carry out the procedure a maximum of 2 times on each blackhead you want to eliminate
  7. Wash your face with warm or cold water to eliminate the sebum present on the skin.
  8. Apply a tonic to the treated area with a cotton pad.
  9. Apply specific sunscreen for each skin type.

If it is not possible to remove all the sebum present in the blackheads, discontinue the procedure and seek help from a qualified professional, who will perform the appropriate technique.

You should not try to remove or squeeze blackheads with your nails, as this can damage the skin and lead to infection, as nails are typically a source of dirt and impurities.

Essential daily care for blackheads

Regular, daily care is essential to combat the appearance of blackheads and keep your skin hydrated and healthy for longer. You should consider the following to prevent and treat blackheads:

1. Wash your face daily

Washing your face every day is essential for reducing skin oiliness and eliminate blackheads more quickly. This can also help to unclog pores, and also prevent new blackheads and pimples.

To clean your skin correctly, use running water and a mild facial soap or cleansing lotion, specific to your skin type. Apply to the skin using gentle circular movements with your fingertips for about 3 minutes. Then, rinse off the excess water with a soft towel, without rubbing the area.

It is important to be careful not to wash your face more than twice a day, as this can dry out the skin and lead to more oil production, causing more blackheads, inflammation or skin rashes.

2. Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliation is essential to eliminate dead cells, present in the first layer of the skin. It also helps to reduce oiliness and sebum production. The small granules that are found in exfoliants, or natura exfoliants, like brown sugar, coffee grounds or salt, stimulate blood circulation and deeply clean the layers of the skin, eliminating blackheads more quickly. It is recommended to exfoliate at least once a week.

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar, salt or coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil

How to prepare: mix the ingredients in a clean, dry container until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then, apply to the area to be treated with light circular movements for around 5 minutes. It is important to pay attention to the most sensitive areas of the skin, especially below the eyes, to prevent injuries. Finally, remove the exfoliant with cold or warm water and pat dry with a soft towel. You can perform this exfoliation at least once a week.

3. Apply steam to the skin

When steam is applied to the skin, it causes the pores to dilate. This humidifies the skin, increases blood circulation and facilitates the absorption of the active ingredients present in creams and masks. All these factors play a role in the removal of existing blackheads, and also prevents the appearance of new ones.

To perform the technique, pour boiling water into a basin, and hover your face over it, without touching the water. You can additionally cover your head and the bowl with a towel. This vaporization must be done for 5 minutes, before starting to remove blackheads.

4. Apply a green clay mask

Green clay is a powerful cleansing agent for combination or oily skin, as it has antioxidant properties. It helps to eliminate toxins present in the outermost layer of the skin, in addition to gradually removing impurities and excess oil that could cause new blackheads.

A green clay mask can be made by mixing 2 tablespoons of clay with ½ cup of filtered water or iced chamomile tea, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Apply the mask to the area you want to treat and leave it to act for around 30 minutes. Then, rinse off with cold water.

This mask should be applied once a week.

5. Apply a relaxing aloe mask

Aloe vera is a great option for oily skin with blackheads. It has nourishing, regenerating and moisturizing properties, helping to remove oil and impurities and preventing the appearance of new blackheads.

How to prepare: To make this mask, remove the gel from the inside of the aloe leaf and apply it directly to the skin to be treated. Leave it to act for 30 minutes. You can add 5 drops of chamomile oil, lavender oil or rosehip oil, as essential oils help to soothe and regenerate the skin. Then remove the mask with cold or warm water, and pat dry with a soft towel. Because of its relaxing effect on the skin, this mask can be done right after the clay mask, once a week.

6. Use a natural toner

A toner is a substance that helps eliminate deeper impurities from the skin, which have not been removed by water, soap or cleansing lotions. They also reduce oiliness and help control the skin’s pH, which can play a role in removing blackheads.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of iced chamomile tea
  • 5 drops of tea tree oil

How to prepare: mix the ingredients in a clean, dry container and then, using a cotton pad, wipe over the skin until all dirt is removed. You do not need to wash the skin with soap and water afterwards. This natural astringent can be used not only to eliminate impurities, but also to remove makeup at the end of the day.

7. Apply sunscreen daily

It is essential to apply sunscreen daily to avoid blemishes on the skin from acne scars. Sunscreen helps to protect the skin against UVA and UVB rays, which can cause skin aging, oiliness and increased sebum production.

4 natural ways to clear a blackhead breakout

2 ladies with happy expressions. Both have skin masks on
Blackhead breakout? Here’s 4 easy ways to banish blackheads naturally, using everyday cupboard essentials you might not consider to be the answer!
Men and women of all ages can experience blackhead breakouts, so don’t feel like you’re the only one to encounter flare ups. If you do get them, don’t worry. But don’t just jump right in – it’s important learn about blackheads and then be careful about what you put on your skin.

What are blackheads?

Blackheads are a mild form of acne. They’re a waxy plug in a pore that’s become blocked by bacteria, dead skin cells and oil. When the plug is pushed to the surface of your skin, it oxidises and turns black.

Here’s 4 ways to help get rid of them:

1. Apply baking soda paste to the affected area

Baking soda can help clear skin of blackheads and stops them from being formed by neutralising the pH in your skin. Simply make a paste from a tablespoon of baking soda and a few drops of water, apply it to your blackheads, leave on your skin for roughly 10 minutes before rinsing off. For the best results do this two or three times a week.

2. Use green tea in a few different ways

Whichever way you choose to consume green tea, your skin will benefit. Try adding a teaspoon of green tea leaves to some water to create a paste. You can then apply it to your blackheads and after a couple of minutes you’ll be able to wash it off, giving you unclogged pores. Alternatively, you can drink green tea as normal, allow the green tea to cool and then use as a face wash or combine it with sugar and lemon to create a facial scrub.

3. Cinnamon and honey face mask

Cinnamon stimulates circulation and honey is antibacterial, so when you combine them, they form a super tag team, leaving blackheads nowhere to hide. To make a cinnamon and honey face mask you simply need to mix one tablespoon of ground cinnamon with two tablespoons of honey and apply it to your face, avoiding your sensitive eye area. You need to leave it to do its magic for twenty minutes, Once you wash it off, you should notice a difference in your skin straight away. If you don’t fancy making a face mask, you can mix them together, apply a thin layer over your blackheads and cover with a clean cotton strip. Once it is dry, carefully peel the strip away. Make sure you wash your face and moisturise afterwards.

4. Use an oatmeal face mask for 20 minutes

A gentle, natural exfoliant and anti-inflammatory, oatmeal is good to use, even if you have sensitive skin. You need to cook the oatmeal as you would to eat it, allow it to cool then cover your blackheads with it, avoiding your delicate eye area. After twenty minutes, you can wash it off with lukewarm water. To keep your skin free of blackheads, it’s best to give yourself an oatmeal face mask every day.

Best Ways to Remove Blackheads from Your Nose at Home with Its Prevention Tips

Key Highlights

  • Clogged pores that are exposed to air can oxidise and turn black, which is what causes blackheads.
  • Blackheads can be avoided with a good skincare regimen that includes washing, exfoliating, and using non-comedogenic products.
  • Blackheads can be successfully removed with at-home treatments like steam, masks, and blackhead extractor instruments.
  • For severe situations, there are professional treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and manual extraction.
  • Avoiding heavy makeup, eating a balanced diet, and utilizing the right skincare products are examples of preventive methods.

What are Blackheads?

Blackheads, which frequently can present themselves as tiny, dark spots on the skin, are a common skincare issue that many individuals encounter. They usually appear on the nose, forehead, and chin, places where the skin is more likely to be oily. These bothersome imperfections are a form of acne that arises from clogged hair follicles filled with a mixture of dead skin cells and oil. The dark appearance of blackheads is a result of their open nature, which allows the contained debris to oxidize when exposed to air, setting them apart from whiteheads.

Blackheads are a moderate form of acne, but they can still be difficult to manage. If left untreated, they can cause irritation and enlarged pores, in addition to altering the appearance of the skin. Regular washing and exfoliation are two good skin care habits that can help stop and lessen the appearance of blackheads. A balanced diet and the use of non-comedogenic products can also help manage these recalcitrant skin issues. A dermatologist’s advice may also offer specialized ways to deal with blackheads and enhance the general health of your skin.

How do Blackheads Form?

Blackheads arise due to the accumulation of dead skin cells and sebum, an oily material secreted by the sebaceous glands in hair follicles. Oxidation results from the clogged pore being exposed to air while it is left open. The blocked substance turns black as a result of this oxidation, hence the term “blackhead”.

Understanding Blackheads

It’s crucial to comprehend blackheads in order to treat and avoid them. Blackheads are not brought on by dirt; rather, they are the result of oil oxidation and dead skin cells stuck in pores. This means that overwashing or using harsh scrubs can actually make blackheads worse by irritating the skin and causing an increase in oil production.

What Causes Blackheads?

Blackhead formation is caused by a number of factors:

  • Excess Oil Production: Pore blockages may result from sebaceous glands that are overactive.
  • Dead Skin Cells: Improper shedding of dead skin cells can cause them to build up and clog pores.
  • Hormonal Changes: Changes in hormones, especially during puberty, menstruation, or when taking certain medications, can increase oil production.
  • Specific Skincare Items: Too thick or oily of a product might clog pores.
  • Diet: Blackheads and acne may be exacerbated by a diet heavy in dairy and sugar.
  • Genetics: Because of the makeup of their skin, some people are genetically susceptible to developing more blackheads than others.

How to Remove Blackheads From Nose at Home

Blackhead removal at home is safe when done with the appropriate methods and supplies:

  • Steam your face: Steam facilitates pore opening, which makes blackhead removal simpler. For around ten minutes, place a towel over your head and bend over a bowl of boiling water.
  • Employ a blackhead extractor tool: This method can help get rid of blackheads without harming the skin. After each usage, thoroughly clean the instrument.
  • Regularly exfoliate: Use a mild exfoliant containing glycolic or salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores.
  • Use pore strips: These can temporarily remove blackheads in the nose. Apply the strip after wetting your nose, allow it to dry, and then peel it off.
  • Clay masks: These can be used to remove impurities from the skin and absorb extra oil.

Masks for Blackhead Removal

Blackhead removal masks are skincare treatments that unclog pores and cleanse the face of excess oil and pollutants to help get rid of blackheads. Usually, they have chemicals like salicylic acid, charcoal, or clay that tighten pores and suck out impurities, leaving skin smoother and clearer.

Using these masks regularly can help prevent blackheads from developing in the future. Let’s explore some of the blackhead removal masks.

  • Charcoal Mask: Charcoal masks are a great way to remove oil and debris from pores. Your nose will benefit from a charcoal mask applied, let to dry, and then peeled off.
  • Clay Mask: Clay masks help absorb extra oil and clear up pores, especially ones that contain kaolin clay or bentonite.
  • Honey and Cinnamon Mask: Combine honey and cinnamon to make a sticky paste. Apply it to your nose, then rinse it off after ten to fifteen minutes. Cinnamon enhances blood circulation, and honey provides antimicrobial qualities.

Professional Blackhead Removal Techniques

Blackhead removal can be accomplished professionally using various methods, including chemical peels, laser therapy, vacuum suction, and manual extraction. However, to reduce the possibility of scarring or skin injury, these procedures should only be carried out by qualified experts.

It is advised to get advice from a dermatologist or esthetician to decide the best course of action for specific skin types and issues.

  • Chemical Peels: Salicylic or glycolic acid-based chemical peels can help exfoliate skin and get rid of blackheads.
  • Microdermabrasion: This treatment uses a specialized tool to exfoliate the epidermis, removing dead skin cells and clogged pores.
  • Professional Extraction: Using sterile instruments, dermatologists or qualified estheticians can physically remove blackheads.

How To Prevent Blackheads From Nose

To prevent blackheads on the nose, regularly cleanse the skin with a gentle cleanser, exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, use oil-free products, avoid touching the face frequently, and keep the pores clean by using non-comedogenic products.

Additionally, regularly moisturize and use products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to help prevent blackheads from forming. Here are some methods for the prevention of blackheads.

  • Cleanse Twice a Day: To get rid of extra oil and grime, use a mild cleanser.
  • Avoid Heavy Makeup: Opt for non-comedogenic makeup to prevent pore clogging.
  • Employ Products Without Oil: Choose skincare products that are non-comedogenic and oil-free.
  • Exfoliate Regularly: Regularly exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead skin cells. Use exfoliating products.
  • Hydrate: Skin, even oily ones, requires hydration. Use a moisturizer that is light and oil-free.
  • Refrain from Touching Your Face: Contact with your face can cause clogged pores by transferring oil and grime from your hands to your face.
  • Keep Up a Healthy Diet: Drink lots of water and cut back on sweets and dairy products.

The Best Ways to Get Rid of Blackheads

The best ways to get rid of blackheads include regular cleansing, exfoliating, using products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, and using pore strips or masks specifically designed for blackhead removal.

It’s important to avoid squeezing or picking at blackheads to prevent irritation and scarring. Consistency and patience are key in effectively treating and preventing blackheads. Here are some ways that you can employ to get rid of blackheads:

  • Employ Retinoids: Retinoids are applied topically to aid in promoting cell turnover and decreasing the probability of obstructed pores.
  • Try Salicylic Acid: This beta-hydroxy acid can help clear clogged pores by penetrating oil.
  • Use benzoyl peroxide: Its antibacterial qualities can aid in the reduction of blackheads and acne.

Donald Trump has been granted ‘unconditional discharge’ in historic hush-money case

The president-elect has been sentenced after previously trying to delay the proceedings

Donald Trump has received a sentence in his criminal hush money case after the New York Court of Appeals denied his request to halt the proceedings.

The soon-to-be president received his sentence after being found guilty in May 2024 on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in relation to a payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claimed to have had a sexual encounter with Trump.

The $130,000 ‘hush money’ payments were found to be intended to boost Trump’s electoral prospects when he ran for president in 2016.

The crime came with a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison, though New York Judge Juan Merchan previously indicated plans to sentence Trump to an unconditional discharge.

Merchan said such a sentencing would be the most ‘viable solution’ to the case.

Prior to the sentencing, lawyers for Trump asked the Court of Appeals to halt the sentencing as they claimed going ahead would cause ‘grave injustice and harm to the institution of the presidency’.

Now, speaking today (January 10), Merchan described Trump’s case as a ‘truly extraordinary’, CNN reported, and proceeded to give the sentence the President-elect to an unconditional discharge — as expected.

Under New York state law, this is a sentence imposed ‘without imprisonment, fine or probation supervision’, says MSNBC.

These are typically given for the least-serious offences such as very minor thefts, Sentencing Council explains.

Trump’s lawyer Todd Blanche previously argued that the sentencing could impinge on Trump’s transition into the Oval Office, which is set to take place on January 20.

Blanche described the transition as ‘a process that directly concerns the United States of America’s national security and vital interests’.

But lawyers for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg hit back at Trump’s request to halt the sentence, pointing out that a president-elect does not have access to the same immunity as the actual president.

In a filing, the prosecution’s side wrote: “The President-elect is, by definition, not yet the President. The President-elect therefore does not perform any Article II functions under the Constitution, and there are no Article II functions that would be burdened by ordinary criminal process involving the President-elect.”

The lawyers added: “And notwithstanding defendant’s past and upcoming service as President, his history, character, and condition – and especially his open disregard for the justice system – do not support dismissal.”

Joe Biden tells Kamala Harris to 'fire away' in awkward moment during LA wildfire briefing

Donald Trump has called for California governor Gavin Newsom to resign over the fires

The US President made an apparent blunder with his choice of words, not once but several times, during a White House briefing on the LA wildfires.

Deadly fires are continuing to ravage California, with thousands of acres of land, buildings and homes destroyed across the Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst and Lidia neighborhoods in LA.

The inferno has claimed the lives of at least 10 people at the time of writing, though experts warn the death toll could still rise with more high winds forecast to fan the flames.

It’s clear the disaster is nowhere near from being over as firefighters are forced to grapple with the growing firestorm while water supplies run low.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said all three of its one million-gallon water tanks that supply fire hydrants in Pacific Palisades had run dry by 3am on Wednesday.

While discussing the federal response to the ongoing situation in Washington, the President came under scrutiny for his poor turn of phrase.

Joe Biden told speakers twice to ‘fire away’ on Thursday, which visibly shocked attendees around the Roosevelt Room board table.

To the Californian Vice President, Kamala Harris, he said: “Madam Vice President, I know you’re directly affected, so you fire away.”

In response to her surprised look at the wordplay, Biden added: “No pun intended” to a few laughs in the room.

Yet mere moments later, he repeated the expression to the US Forest Service Chief Randy Moore, saying: “Chief, why don’t you fire away?”

He then appeared to repeat the utterance at least another two times.

Twitter users have since slammed the President’s remarks, calling it ‘disgraceful’, ‘despicable’ and ‘disgusting’.

The President ultimately pledged the federal government will support California’s effort to tackle the inferno with 100 percent of financial support for 180 days.

However, the 82-year-old took a swipe at local power companies for turning off the power and applauded the Democrat California governor, Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass after President-elect, Donald Trump, called on Newsom to resign, saying the fires were ‘all his fault’.

The Vice President appears to shoot Biden a look when he says the phrase (CNN-News18/YouTube)

Biden said: “What I know from talking to the governor [is] that there are concerns out there that there’s also been a water shortage.

“The fact is, the utilities understandably shut off power because they’re worried the lines that carry energy were going to be blown down and spark additional fires.

“There’s a direct correlation between the utility company and the ability to pump water out of a hydrant. And so it allows for a lot of uninformed people to make assertions or concerns or accusations about the local officials not caring or not working.”

The accusations come as two of the area’s electricity providers said they were not to blame for the hydrants running out of water, claiming the water pumps and water flows ‘were not affected by power outages’, according to the New York Times.

The criticism also comes as Biden was condemned just a day earlier for sharing his ‘good news’ that he had become a great-grandfather during a visit to a Santa Monica fire station.

Mandy Moore snapped back on social media after fans criticized her for asking for donations

Mandy Moore has issued a response rant after followers accused her of asking for money to support her family affected by the LA wildfires.

The actor and singer is one of hundreds of thousands of people who have been affected by the raging Californian wildfires, as five fires rampage through Los Angeles neighborhoods having already destroyed thousands of buildings, homes and acres of land.

The death toll currently stands at 10 but the authorities fear the forecast of more high winds is only going to fan the flames further and potentially claim more lives.

At a White House briefing on Thursday (January 9), President Joe Biden pledged the federal government will support California’s efforts to tackle the inferno with 100 percent of financial support for 180 days.

However, thousands have lost everything already, including Moore’s relatives who have been left homeless from the fires.

The ‘Candy’ hitmaker said her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Griff and Katt Goldsmith, lost their home and ‘everything they own’ in the Eaton fire, just weeks before the expected arrival of their first baby.

The fundraiser, set up by Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, details Griff, a touring musician, lost all of his drums and studio gear in the fire, adding the kit helps him to ‘make a living’.

Moore shared several fundraisers to her millions of Instagram followers, including a GoFundMe to help her relatives.

However, the Hollywood star was apparently met with backlash for sharing it as she snapped to her followers: “People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic. Of course we are.

“Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them.”

Her comment comes as fans have pointed out Moore has an estimated net worth of $14 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth, and slammed her appeal as distasteful.

One follower penned in a comment on Instagram: “Yikes… Not a good look from someone of her means.

“The audacity of a multimillionaire asking everyday people who live paycheck to paycheck to donate to her family member, when she could easily give the full goal amount without it affecting her family financially in anyway.”

Another added: “Wow millionaires having GoFundMe’s. Just the nerve.”

“You have an obscene amount of money,” a third claimed. “I think you could help your own family and also some others while you’re at it.”
