The most powerful passport in the world for 2025 has been revealed

The annual rankings for passports have just dropped

Some people couldn’t care less about their passports until they are frantically searching for it a few hours before they have to leave for their flight.

But for others, the travel document which is a ticket out of their home country is their prized possession – and that’s probably because theirs has a lot more power than a UK one.

The list of the world’s most powerful passports for 2025 has been revealed, and sadly, we still haven’t been able to seize the top spot – however, we did at least make the top 20 countries.

Each year, the Henley Passport Index reminds us all how much weight your passport holds depending on where you are from in the world.

Experts use exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and conduct their own research to produce the annual ranking.

It’s judged on how many destinations a passport holder ‘can access without a prior visa’ – essentially, how many countries they can enter without loads of messing around.

So the fact that the UK and more than 50 countries around the world will now have to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver to travel around Europe probably hasn’t done us any favours this year folks.

Passports earn a point for the Henley Passport Index depending on how easy it is to get travellers into another country, while you can also earn a point if it can secure a visa, visitor’s permit or an electronic travel authority (ETA).

If a visa or a government-approved electronic visa is required before departure, the travel document get a score of 0, while the total score for each passport is made up of the number of destinations for which no visa is required.

So, without further ado, lets take a look at what the Henley Passport Index looks like for 2025.

Singapore has taken this year’s crown for having the world’s most powerful passport, as its citizens can enter 195 out of 227 destinations across the planet without a visa.

The ranking, which was published on Wednesday (8 January), showed how 2022’s winner Japan snuck back up to the top of the leaderboard after gaining 193 points.

Meanwhile, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Spain were tied for third place, as passport holders from these nations can get into 192 countries visa-free.

In fourth place came Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, who each earned 190 points.

And locked in fifth place is Belgium, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland and last but not least, the United Kingdom, with each scoring 190.

So, what passports ended up at the undesirable end of the list?

Afghanistan is in last place, with its citizens being able to visit just 26 nations without a visa and other travel documents.

Syria sits in the 105th position with just 27 points, followed by Iraq with a score of 31, Yemen and Pakistan with 33 as well as Somalia with 35.

Who knew a passport could wield so much power, eh?

Man who made non-alcoholic drink that makes you feel drunk explains why you shouldn't drive after consuming it

It’s not alcoholic, but it’s not free of risk, so says its own manufacturer

A drug expert has explained why you shouldn’t drive after drinking a non-alcoholic tipple he created that makes your brain feel like it’s drunk.

It’s common knowledge that you should never get behind the wheel after having an alcoholic drink – and that is even if you feel absolutely fine.

With your reaction time hindered and judgement impaired, there’s also a the risk of a false sense of confidence. Combined, we’re talking brutally devastating consequences.

UK government data from 2023 reported that an estimated 6,740 people were killed or injured when at least one driver was over the drink-drive limit. Sadly, this was an increase of four percent from the previous year.

Now, with Dry January well under way, many are cutting out the booze in a health kick to start of the new year.

And some are turning to non-alcoholic alternatives to keep that social aspect going.

And one particular non-alcoholic brand has produced a tipple that will mimic the effects of alcohol on your brain without you consuming any of the product. But a warning has been issued about drinking it and driving.

Non-alcoholic Sentia Spirits explained

The drinks we are talking about are created by Sentia Spirits; a line of zero percent drinks that give you that ‘gentle buzz’ without the hangover or negative health effects of drinking alcohol.

Sentia drinks are completely legal to buy and are the brainchild of Professor David Nutt and his team.

Professor Nutt told The Independent: “It’s a drink that is based on the science of alcohol, particularly the low doses of alcohol that relax you and make you more sociable.”

Don’t Sentia and drive

That’s the message from Sentia Spirits’ very own Prof Nutt.

Firstly, Prof Nutt said that Sentia products are positioned as something ‘only for people who are old enough to drink alcohol’ due to how it impacts you as a relaxant. And it is because of this that he says you shouldn’t drive after consuming it, telling Stylist it is ‘probably not sensible’ given its relaxing effect on the body and mind.

The Sentia website echoes its creator’s words. On its frequently asked questions page, it reads: “Some users have reported GABA Red making them drowsy, so we do not recommend driving after consuming GABA Red.

“While there is nothing in the GABA Black blend that should impact driving, we recommend you use your best judgement.”

What is GABA and how does it work?

Dr Suzanne Wylie, GP and medical adviser for IQdoctor, told LADbible that GABA – which stands for gamma-aminobutyric acid – ‘is a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in regulating anxiety, relaxation, and social bonding’.

“These drinks often include a blend of botanicals and compounds that can either directly stimulate GABA receptors or promote the production of GABA, leading to a calming effect without the intoxicating side effects of alcohol,” Dr Wylie said.

Working in a similar way to CBD drinks, they ‘target the brain’s natural biochemistry’. She explained: “They may work by enhancing GABA’s ability to bind to its receptors in the brain or by reducing the breakdown of GABA, increasing its availability.”

Not paying your TV License could have serious implications

For those who don’t pay when they should, they’re going to get a shock when a knock on the door comes with evidence that they’ve been naughty with their viewing habits.

Since the revelation, Martin Lewis’ MSE issued a warning to anyone who pays for their TV Licence.

While we know that there are some instances that you don’t need to pay, when you do need to and you refuse to, that’s where the issue starts.

Essentially, you need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes on a TV, or watch on-demand shows on BBC iPlayer.

You need to pay your license if you watch certain things (Carl Court / Staff / Getty)

You need to pay your license if you watch certain things (Carl Court / Staff / Getty)

How much is the TV Licence and when do you need one?

As the annual TV Licence costs £169.50, and is set to increase by £5 on 1 April this year, it means that the BBC is missing out on even more money when people decide to mark themselves down as not needing a licence.

After a landmark review in to how the BBC is funded (BBC Funding Model Review), it has been labelled as ‘enormous’ by the boss of the BBC.

Any change will come in to play from 2028, meaning for now you have to keep paying as usual if you want to watch specific content.

There are certain reasons why you need a TV Licence or not, with money guru Martin Lewis here to explain everything.

For those who don’t pay when they need to, an undercover technique has been revealed through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

And it has confirmed that ‘covert vehicles’ with ‘detection equipment’ in them are being used to check if you are watching television in a property that doesn’t have a TV Licence.

The FOI from 2022, submitted by the TV Licensing Blog website, reveals that a review in to the methods used is under way through the Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s Office (IPCO).

The documents reveal that contractor Capita carries out the monitoring methods, which are reportedly signed off by people within the BBC.

What the IPCO have said

If not, you'll be caught out (Leon Neal / Staff / Getty)

If not, you’ll be caught out (Leon Neal / Staff / Getty)

But whether it works or not is another matter, with IPCO saying: “The success rate is limited, with only a small number of deployments resulting in further enforcement action, such as the execution of a search warrant.

“This could be due to the limitations of the detection equipment, which is apparently struggling to keep up with the technological advancements in television viewing.”

Author of the TV Licensing Blog, Peter Jones, said the BBC ‘struggling to maintain pace with evolving technology is yet another indication of how outdated, unenforceable and irrelevant the current TV licence system is’.

A spokesperson for TV Licensing said: “TV Licensing’s primary aim is to help people stay licensed, and we offer a range of concessions and payment schemes to support customers. We have a duty to collect the licence fee from anyone who requires one and prosecution is always a last resort.

“Detection vans are one of a number of approaches in our enforcement of the law and we always write to customers before visiting a property to ensure customers have ample opportunity to obtain a licence. We continually refine and enhance all our processes to ensure they are efficient, proportionate and fair.

“We welcome independent scrutiny and informed views on how we can make further improvements.”

When you do and don’t need to pay for a TV Licence

It’s not wholly simple, with a few cases in both camps.

If you only watch television on-demand that doesn’t include the BBC iPlayer, you don’t need one. That is as long as the content was not recorded from live TV.

If you watch TV as it airs live on any channel – or if you record live TV for another time – you need to pay.

Only watch streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video? You don’t need to pay. But if you watch live content on any streaming app, such as the Premier League on Prime or soon to be WWE on Netflix, you have to cough up.

Some viewers say they’ve ‘gone right off’ the show

It’s safe to say most of us are absolute armchair experts when it comes to watching a quiz or game show from home.

Like, how on earth did so many people get that wrong on The 1% Club? Or why did they think it was a good idea to take that offer on The Chase?

And why did the contestants on Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win not win the £250,000?

That’s something viewers are fuming about after last night’s (January 11) episode on ITV after an apparent question ‘error’.

The game show sees a pair of contestants working as a team to answer questions that all have a whole number as the solution.

It's caused a bit of a stir. (ITV)

It’s caused a bit of a stir. (ITV)

Being below the answer means losing lives, and being over the answer means game over and they take however much has already been cashed in from the limitless ladder.

So, Richard and Lorna kicked off the episode having returned from a previous week with a decent £30,000 and 32 lives to their name.

Ant and Dec asked them: “In metres, how long is the electrical cable on a standard Henry vacuum cleaner?”

Now, obviously, even for plenty of us armchair experts, that’s not exactly the most common bit of information right at the forefront of our minds.

But the pair were pretty nifty as they used some skills of deduction before debating between the answer being eight and 10.

In the end, they decided to go with the lower, eight and annoyingly, it was the other. Well, at least according to the show anyway.

If Richard and Lorna had got it exactly right, they would have banked a hefty £250,000 but instead of course lost two lives.

They ended up with £30k. (ITV)

They ended up with £30k. (ITV)

But viewers are demanding ITV to ‘pay up’ for the team as it turns out both of the answers could be right.

It only takes a quick search to discover you can buy replacement cables for Henry hoovers in both 10 and 8.4 metre lengths.

Viewers took to X to slam: “Henry hoover cable, 8.4mtrs, they guessed 8, then programme came up with 10 mtrs…. gone right off this quiz show.”

Another slammed: “Pay up @ITV #limitlesswin Clearly they were right!” as one said: “So Henry Hoover cable length is 8.4 metres so why in the show was it 10?

While one just couldn’t believe the question: “Who the hell is gonna know how long a wire on a hoover is.”

Although, backing up the show’s answer, the official myhenry website does list the standard Henry as coming with a 10 metre cable, not eight.

12 Ways to Get Rid of Blackheads

12 Ways to Get Rid of Blackheads

How we vet brands and products

Many over-the-counter skin care products target blackheads, including products containing salicylic acid. Certain practices, such as daily facial cleansing and removing makeup, may also help remove and prevent blackheads.

Learn How to Get Rid of Blackheads in 12 Ways

Looking for ways to get rid of blackheads? This video offers 10 suggestions on how to get rid of your blackheads.
What you can do

Blackheads are one of the most common forms of acne. Although people who have oily skin are more vulnerable to blackheads, anyone can get them.

They form when pores become clogged with a combination of dead skin cells and excess oil (sebum) from your sebaceous glands.

Unlike whiteheads, which create closed pores, blackheads have open surfaces, which creates an oxidation that’s dark in color.

It may be tempting to try to pinch or push the black plug out, but this can cause unnecessary scarring and other damage to your skin.

“The good news is that there is a cornucopia of over-the-counter products that contain effective ingredients to exfoliate, soften, and even remove blackheads,” says Allison Britt Kimmins, MD, MPH.

Keep reading to learn how to:

  • get rid of your blackheads
  • prevent future ones from forming
  • take better overall care of your skin
1. Cleanse with salicylic acid

Instead of benzoyl peroxide, look for over-the-counter (OTC) products that contain salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid is the preferred ingredient for treating blackheads and whiteheads because it breaks down the materials that clog pores:

  • excess oil
  • dead skin cells

By choosing a daily cleanser with salicylic acid, you can remove these elements in addition to:

  • daily dirt
  • oil
  • makeup

Although you still need to wash your face twice a day, try using a cleanser that has salicylic acid in it just once a day to start. Britt Kimmins notes that salicylic acid is especially good for those with dry skin.

You may consider using it at night only and then using your regular cleanser in the morning. As your skin gets used to the product, you may choose to use it both morning and night.

Many people are sensitive to salicylic acid. You may not be able to use it more than once every few days. If you continue to react to it, discontinue use.

Find cleansers online:

2. Gently exfoliate with AHAs and BHAs

In the past, you may have heard that exfoliating produces a negative effect on acne. This can be true for inflammatory acne, as the process can cause further redness and irritation.

For blackheads, though, regular exfoliation can help remove excessive amounts of dead skin cells that can lead to clogged pores. The process may also gently remove existing blackheads.

Rather than looking for harsh scrubs, you’ll want to focus on alpha and beta hydroxy acids (AHAs and BHAs). Glycolic acid is the most common type of AHA, and salicylic acid is a prominent BHA.

Both work by removing the top layer of your skin. In theory, this can improve the appearance of wrinkles and age spots, all while cleansing pores and making your skin softer.

You’ll find that BHAs are more widely available on the market, and in some cases, they’re more affordable too!

“Both AHAs and BHAs are excellent as superficial peels, says Britt Kimmins. “AHAs and BHAs …treat the superficial layer of skin and therefore are safe for OTC use in all skin types.”

Find exfoliating products online:

3. Pick up a skin brush

A skin brush can provide similar exfoliating benefits as AHAs and BHAs by removing excess dead skin cells.

Susan Massick, MD, dermatologist and associate professor of dermatology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center advises caution.

She recommends that skin brushes only be used occasionally with a gentle cleansing wash and to avoid the use of a brush altogether if you have sensitive skin.

Depending on your needs and budget, there are a variety of skin brushes available to be used with your daily cleanser.

Find skin brushes online:

  • Cost: $

4. Try topical retinoids

Retinoids may be useful for stubborn cases of acne by helping to unplug pores. This process can also make other OTC products more effective by helping them to be better able to enter the follicle.

But if you’ve got dry skin, Britt Kimmins recommends avoiding strong exfoliants, like retinoids, altogether.

Shop for the following retinoids online:

ProActiv’s Adapalene Gel 0.1%

  • Details: Adapalene is benzoyl peroxide-free. It’s a once-daily retinoid gel that absorbs quickly to treat acne at the cellular level.
  • Cost: $

Differin Gel

  • Details: Differin Gel effectively targets two primary causes of acne: clogged pores and inflammation. It clears breakouts where they start (deep in pores) and prevents new acne from forming.
  • Cost: $

5. Use a clay mask

Clay masks help to draw oils and toxins out of the skin, which helps to unclog pores, says Britt Kimmins. Clay masks are often considered must-haves for oily skin.

Some clay masks also contain sulfur. Sulfur is another ingredient that works to break down the dead skin cells that make up blackheads.

No matter which mask you choose, you can use it once a week in addition to your once- or twice-weekly exfoliating treatment.

Find clay masks online:

L’Oréal’s Detox and Brighten Pure Clay Mask

  • Details: L’Oréal’s mask claims to detoxify and illuminate skin in just 10 minutes. Potent pure clay and charcoal act like a magnet to clean out pores by drawing out and capturing deep impurities, such as dirt, oil, and pollution.
  • Cost: $

Cetaphil Purifying Clay Mask

  • Details: Cetaphil Purifying Clay Mask is designed to purify skin and deep clean pores. It absorbs excess oil and helps improve skin tone.

6. Use a charcoal mask

Like clay masks, charcoal masks work deep in the skin to draw out oil and other impurities, says Britt Kimmins. Charcoal is thought to take these benefits up another notch.

Find charcoal masks online:

ProActiv Skin Purifying Mask

  • Details: ProActive’s mask is formulated with cooling kaolin clay to refine pores, plus a special blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and botanicals that moisturize and condition skin.
  • Cost: $$

Origins Active Charcoal Mask

  • Details: Origins Active Charcoal Mask helps flush out environmental toxins, dirt, and debris that can clog pores and cause skin to look dull.
  • Cost: $

7. Consider a chemical peel

Chemical peels are traditionally used for anti-aging benefits, such as reduced age spots and fine lines. The peels often contain AHAs or BHAs, and they work by exfoliating the skin, says Massick.

In theory, smoother, refreshed-looking skin should be revealed after going through the process.

Though they’re not considered a primary treatment for blackheads, chemical peels can possibly remove dead skin cells and shrink enlarged pores.

This treatment method may be especially helpful if you’re looking for anti-aging benefits too.

Find chemical peels online:

DermaDoctor’s Physical Chemistry Facial

  • Details: DermaDoctor’s Physical Chemistry Facial Microdermabrasion + Multiacid Chemical Peel provides an intensive exfoliating treatment for a clinical at-home chemical peel and microdermabrasion session in one.
  • Cost: $$$

QRx Labs Glycolic Acid 30% Gel Peel

  • Details: QRx Labs Glycolic Acid 30% Gel Peel stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation in the skin by increasing cell regeneration. New cells replace older and damaged ones, exposing a younger skin surface.
  • Cost: $

8. Make sure you’re using noncomedogenic products

The right cleanser, mask, and exfoliator may do little good if you don’t use noncomedogenic makeup and face products. In fact, Massick recommends starting off a blackhead removal regimen with noncomedogenic products.

Noncomedogenic means that the product in question won’t cause comedones, or clogged pores. Not all products are noncomedogenic, so you’ll have to read labels carefully.

Find noncomedogenic products online:

  • Details: Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen is fragrance free and water resistant for up to 80 minutes. It helps keep your skin protected from the sun during outdoor activities.
  • Cost: $

9. Don’t sleep in your makeup

At the end of a long day, the last thing you may want to do is to take off your makeup.

However, sleeping with your makeup on is asking for more blackheads. If left on overnight, even noncomedogenic makeup can clog your pores.

Those with oily skin may want to consider using a foaming cleanser, says Britt Kimmins. Makeup removers can also be used before washing your face for extra cleansing power.

Find makeup removal products online:

10. Avoid pore strips and other home extraction methods

You’ve already learned that picking, scratching, and popping any form of acne is considered off-limits. Still, it can be tempting to locate some form of extraction to get rid of those pesky blackheads.

In recent years, there’s been an uptick in masks, pore strips, and extraction tools that promise clean pores.

Although pore strips and masks may help remove junk from your pores, they can also remove elements that actually help your skin. This includes natural oils and hair follicles. Removing all of these elements can cause your skin to dry out and become irritated.

When irritation occurs, your sebaceous glands may go into survival mode and produce even more oil — resulting in more blackheads.

Other extraction methods include professional-grade metal or plastic tools. These purportedly work by removing clogged blackheads without scratching your skin. The keyword here though, is professional.

Dermatologists who have years of training sometimes use these tools. When placed into hands with limited experience, extraction tools can turn into a source for scratches, wounds, and even scars.

11. Don’t waste your time on benzoyl peroxide

When it comes to over-the-counter (OTC) acne spot treatments, you’re likely to find that many products contain benzoyl peroxide. The problem is, benzoyl peroxide doesn’t work for all types of acne.

Benzoyl peroxide works by reducing swelling, which a key marker of inflammatory acne, which includes cysts and pustules. It can also get rid of underlying bacteria in a pimple.

However, blackheads aren’t considered inflammatory. Also, they are not caused by bacteria, so products featuring benzoyl peroxide won’t do much good.

12. See your dermatologist for professional extraction

Any new acne regimen, including one for blackheads, can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks to take effect.

If you continue to see new and preexisting blackheads after this time, you may need to make an appointment with your dermatologist. They can use professional tools to extract blackheads. The Healthline FindCare tool can provide options in your area if you don’t already have a dermatologist.

They may even recommend a series of dermabrasion treatments or prescription retinoids to prevent blackheads from coming back.

Officials issue worrying update on black box from South Korea plane crash that killed 179

South Korea’s transport ministry have revealed that the Boeing 737-800’s black boxes are missing crucial data

South Korean officials investigating the Jeju Air plane crash have issued a worrying update after analysing the black boxes which were retrieved from the wreckage.

Authorities had hoped that the electronic recording devices would provide an insight into what happened in the final moments before the disaster on 29 December.

The Boeing 737-800 which was carrying 181 people had departed from Bangkok, Thailand, and crashed following an emergency landing at Muan International Airport.

Only two cabin crew members survived the fireball after the jet ploughed into a concrete wall at the end of the runway.

The pair – who have both struggled to remember what happened during the incident – were found in the plane’s tail section with several injuries.

Investigators announced they had began extracting data from one of the black boxes on the Jeju Air jet at the start of the month.

South Korea’s transport ministry said this content from the cockpit voice recorder would then be converted into an audio file.

The second black box – a flight data recorder which was damaged in the crash and missing a crucial connector – was then sent to the US for further analysis.

The Ministry of Transport’s director of aviation policy, Joo Jong-wan, explained at the time: “We have determined that extracting data from the damaged flight data recorder here is not possible.

“And so we have agreed with the NTSB to send it to the US and analyse it there,” he said, according to Yonhap News Agency.

However, in the latest update on the probe into the worst airline disaster South Korea has ever seen, the ministry has revealed that both devices stopped working just minutes before the crash.

Four minutes before the disaster, the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder stopped processing data.

The US National Transportation Safety Board discovered the missing chunk of information while analysing the contents of the black boxes.

But according to South Korean officials, other data was available which could aid the investigation.

As well as this, they reassured families of the victims that the probe would be transparent and information would be shared with them.

Sim Jai-dong, a former accident investigator for the transport ministry in South Korea, said the malfunction of the black boxes was extremely surprising.

He said that it suggests that the aircraft could have lost all power, including backup, which he says would be an ‘incredibly rare’ occurrence.

Black boxes are designed to withstand a lot of trauma and are considered to be almost indestructible.

Typically located at the rear of an aircraft, these devices can survive extreme temperatures and underwater immersion, but they are not completely unbreakable.

They collect flight data such as speed, altitude and fuel levels, as well as voice recordings from inside the cockpit.

The devices can also pick up on other sounds such as engine noises and radio transmissions, which was the case with the fateful Voepass Linhas Aéreas Flight 2283 crash in August last year.

US aviation expert Frank E Turney explained why the data from black boxes is so important for investigators to get their hands on.

The chair of the aviation department for Capitol Technology University previously told The Guardian: “The [black] box or the flight data recorder is not going to sit there and tell you this is what caused this accident.

“What it’s going to do, it’s going to give you all of the underlying factual data that you can use to try to assess how the accident occurred.

“Sometimes the data that you’re getting from the flight data recorder will be very conclusive on what the cause of the accident was, but most of the time it is going to be a piece of the overall investigation, and not necessarily a slam dunk on ‘this is what caused this accident.'”

According to Turney, there is usually a chain of unfortunate events – known as the ‘accident chain’ – which lead up to an air disaster, rather than one single issue.

He reckons that officials will be looking into the structure of the Jeju Air plane, its mechanics and how the pilots handled the situation.

“They’re going to go through all of that, and then at some point they’re going to sit down and go through all of this information to figure it out,” Turney added.

“But the flight data recorder is usually a fairly sizeable piece of the puzzle that they use to determine the accident.”

Nicole Kidman admitted she had to pause filming of new movie as she ‘didn’t want to orgasm any more’

Nicole Kidman admitted she had to pause filming of new movie as she ‘didn’t want to orgasm any more’

Nicole Kidman’s new movie, Babygirl, has finally hit cinemas in the UK

Nicole Kidman has spoken about what it was like to film her latest movie, Babygirl, explaining she actually had to pause filming because she ‘didn’t want to orgasm anymore’.

The film was finally released in cinemas in the UK on Friday (10 January) after a lot of chatter about the plot in recent months.

The erotic thriller was written and directed by Halina Reijn and stars Kidman as high-ranking CEO and married mother, Romy.

The film follows Romy as she begins a passionate and exhilarating affair with her younger intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson).

Meanwhile, Antonio Banderas plays her husband Jacob, with the likes of Sophie Wilde and Esther McGregor also starring.

Kidman has called the film her ‘most exposing’ yet, explaining that she was ‘left ragged’ by the filming.

The movie explores the power dynamics between Romy and Samuel, and as you can imagine, there’s a lot of sexually charged moments between the two.

So much so that Kidman had to halt filming on several occasions as she didn’t ‘want to orgasm any more’.

“There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me’,” she explained in an interview with The Sun.

“There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more’.

“Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it.

“It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout.”

This isn’t the first time Kidman has opened up on what it was like to partake such explicit scenes, with the star explaining how intimacy co-ordinators helped her feel comfortable during shooting.

“I’m a huge believer still in the sacredness of the set or the actors’ space and it never being violated,” she admitted. “It’s ours, it’s the bubble, and then there’s the world outside.”

Dickinson has also praised intimacy co-ordinator Lizzy Talbot, as he said: “She was important for the film and broke the unnecessary barrier and conversation around what you have to do.”

Speaking of the film’s director, Kidman added: “I knew [director] Halina [Reijn] wasn’t going to exploit me. It’s the story I wanted to be part of, that I wanted to tell.

“Every part of me was committed to that. There was enormous caretaking by all of us, we were all very gentle with each other and helped each other.”

Tesla driver leaves people in shock after sharing their first electricity bill in 12 months

Tesla driver leaves people in shock after sharing their first electricity bill in 12 months

People were shocked by the bill, with many left confused over the amount the driver had to pay

A Tesla driver has left the internet stunned after revealing their electricity bill over a period of 12 months.

According to energy supplier EDF, the cost of running an electric car depends entirely on the make and model, with different vehicles having varying associated costs.

Ultimately though, as more and more cars become electric, owning one is likely to cost you less over a longer period of time, with the cars requiring less maintenance.

Owners can charge electric cars at public charging points, but most will have an outlet at home. Because of this, it’s important to make sure you’re on the best energy tariff in order to keep the costs as low as possible.

The cost of installing one of these outlets varies, but is estimated to be upwards of £900.

Meanwhile, according to Octopus, charging your car at home can cost as little as 3p per mile, around 14p per mile on ‘lamppost chargers’ (which are public, on-street chargers) and around 18p per mile for rapid public charging.

Re-charging times can vary, from anything from one to 10 hours depending on how you charge your vehicle.

Over in the US, one Tesla owner took to X where they showed off a surprisingly low electricity bill.

First time i’ve had a bill within the last 12 months. this sucks.

The user, @Tesla_GTownTX, posted a screenshot of the bill they received, which came in at just $2.37 (£1.89).

“First time I’ve had a bill within the last 12 months. This sucks,” they wrote.

People were baffled as to how the bill was so low, with many wondering if the Tesla owner had other ways of keeping it so cheap.

“How much did you pay for the solar panels and wall battery?” One person asked.

While another said: “Post your statement for your power wall/solar panel payments.”

The user explained they used solar panels to keep the bill low as well as a Tesla Powerwall, which is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that stores energy from solar or from the electricity grid.

“Powerwall gives you the ability to store energy for later use and works with solar to provide key energy security and financial benefits,” say Tesla.

“Each Powerwall system is equipped with energy monitoring, metering and smart controls for owner customisation using the Tesla app.”

The powerwall comes with a price tag, costing somewhere between £5,000 to £10,000.

So while the bills are super low, the initial cost is pretty hefty.

What are Blackheads?

We include products we think are useful for our readers. If you buy through links on this page, we may earn a small commission. Here’s our process.

How we vet brands and products

Blackheads are small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles. These bumps are called blackheads because the surface looks dark or black. Blackheads can usually be treated with over-the-counter acne products.

Blackheads are a mild type of acne that usually form on the face, but they can also appear on the following body parts:

  • back
  • chest
  • neck
  • arms
  • shoulders

Acne affects nearly 50 million Americans and is the most common skin disorder in the United States, according to the American Academy of Dermatology.

What causes blackheads?

Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of hair follicles in your skin. Each follicle contains one hair and a sebaceous gland that produces oil. This oil, called sebum, helps keep your skin soft.

Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a bump called a comedo. If the skin over the bump stays closed, the bump is called a whitehead. When the skin over the bump opens, exposure to the air causes it to look black and a blackhead forms.

Some factors can increase your chances of developing acne and blackheads, including:

  • producing too much body oil
  • the buildup of the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria on the skin
  • irritation of the hair follicles when dead skins cells don’t shed on a regular basis
  • undergoing hormonal changes that cause an increase in oil production during the teen years, during menstruation, or while taking birth control pills
  • taking certain drugs, such as corticosteroids, lithium, or androgens

Some people believe that what you eat or drink can affect acne. Dairy products and foods that increase blood sugar levels, such as carbohydrates, may play a part in triggering acne, but researchers aren’t convinced that there’s a strong connection.

What are symptoms of blackheads?

Because of their dark color, blackheads are easy to spot on the skin. They’re slightly raised, although they aren’t painful because they aren’t inflamed like pimples. Pimples form when bacteria invade the blockage in the hair follicle, causing redness and inflammation.

How are blackheads treated?

Over-the-counter (OTC) treatments

Many acne medications are available at drug and grocery stores and online without a prescription. These medications are available in cream, gel, and pad form and are put directly on your skin. The drugs contain ingredients such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and resorcinol. They work by killing bacteria, drying excess oil, and forcing the skin to shed dead skin cells.

Prescription medications

If OTC treatment doesn’t improve your acne, your doctor may suggest that you use stronger prescription medications. Medications that contain vitamin A keep plugs from forming in the hair follicles and promote more rapid turnover of skin cells. These medications are applied directly to your skin and can include tretinoin, tazarotene, or adapalene.

Your doctor may also prescribe another type of topical medication that contains benzoyl peroxide and antibiotics. If you have pimples or acne cysts in addition to your blackheads, this type of medication may be particularly helpful.

Manual removal

Dermatologists or specially trained skin care professionals use a special instrument called a round loop extractor to remove the plug causing the blackhead. After a small opening is made in the plug, the doctor applies pressure with the extractor to remove the clog.

The Healthline FindCare tool can provide options in your area if you don’t already have a dermatologist.

Microdermabrasion

During microdermabrasion, a doctor or skin care professional uses a special instrument that contains a rough surface to sand the top layers of your skin. Sanding the skin removes clogs that cause blackheads.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels also remove clogs and get rid of the dead skins cells that contribute to blackheads. During a peel, a strong chemical solution is applied to the skin. Over time, the top layers of the skin peel off, revealing smoother skin underneath. Mild peels are available over the counter, while stronger peels are performed by dermatologists or other skincare professionals.

Laser and light therapy

Laser and light therapies use tiny beams of intense light to decrease oil production or kill bacteria. Both lasers and light beams reach below the surface of the skin to treat blackheads and acne without damaging the top layers of the skin.

How can blackheads be prevented?

You can prevent blackheads without spending a lot of money by trying a few of the following ideas:

Wash regularly

Wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed to remove oil buildup. Washing more than twice each day can irritate your skin and make your acne worse. Use a gentle cleanser that doesn’t make your skin red or irritated. Some acne cleansing products have antibacterial ingredients that kill P. acnes bacteria.

Consider washing your hair every day, too, particularly if it’s oily. Hair oils can contribute to clogged pores. It’s also important to wash your face after you eat oily foods such as pizza, because oil from these foods can clog pores.

Use oil-free products

Any product that contains oil can contribute to new blackheads. Choose oil-free or noncomedogenic makeup, lotions, and sunscreens to avoid making your problem worse.

Try an exfoliating product

Exfoliating scrubs and masks remove dead skin cells from your face and can help reduce blackheads. Look for products that don’t irritate your skin.
