Oppenheimer star Emma Dumont comes out as trans masculine non-binary and reveals they have a new name

The 32-year-old actor has announced that they will go by a different name but will still retain their birth name for work purposes

Hollywood actor Emma Dumont has came out as trans masculine non-binary.

The 32-year-old will now go by they/them pronouns instead of the she/her, as well as announcing that their friends and family will now call them by a new name.

There is a lot of pressure to try and conform to the norms of society; we’re supposed to act a certain way but what if that means lying to yourself and to your nearest and dearest of exactly who you are?

You’ve got to be true to yourself – even if that means swimming upstream, breaking the mold… and there will be people that won’t like it, but as long as you live your life as you believe is true to yourself does it really matter?

I mean we saw Elliot Page, formerly Ellen Page – the Juno star, come out as a trans man in 2020. He was inundated with support throughout his journey, and rightfully so, but especially with his colleagues on The Umbrella Academy.

What I’m getting at is that it was tough for Page to come out in the way that he did, but he’s living a happy life on his terms now… and Dumont is now no different.

Well, they’re very much different but I mean they’ve both broke the mold!

Now, I know what you’re thinking… with Dumont’s new name change will we no longer see ‘Emma Dumont’ running across our screens in films that they feature in?

Dumont, who played Jackie Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s 2023 blockbuster drama Oppenheimer, has made the decision to keep their birth name only for work purposes – meaning any further productions the actor features in will still have their former name in the credits.

The change can be seen over on their Instagram page – in the bio of their account handle @emmadumont, it is featured alongside their new pronouns.

So, what name did Dumont decide on then?

They’ll now go by Nick Dumont to friends and family, although they’ll probably just call them Nick instead of their full title.

Now that they’ve said they’re a Nick, you can kind of see it – their new look, messy short hair and cool short t-shirts really go with Dumont’s new alias.

TMZ reported that their reps explained that Dumont will now ‘identify as a trans masculine non-binary person’.

Adding: “Their work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family.”

Taking to Twitter to applaud their bold move, one person wrote: “Good for them!”

Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodríguez has been arrested by Colombian police on suspicion of being an infamous hitwoman known as ‘The Doll’

Columbia police have revealed they’ve arrested someone on suspicion of being a hitwoman employed by a criminal gang.

The Departamento de Policía Magdalena Medio took to social media on December 1 to reveal it had arrested a woman – reports varying as to whether she’s 22 years old or 23 – on suspicion of being an infamous hitwoman known as ‘La Muñeca’ a.k.a. ‘The Doll’.

Suspect believed to be hitwoman called ‘The Doll’ arrested

The police’s post claims the woman – named as Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodríguez – was ‘caught red-handed with a firearm in Barranca Bermeja’.

A 9mm handgun is also shown in the footage, having been taken into custody for possession and reported as being put through ballistics tests to prove whether or not it’s connected to certain criminal activity.

Two other people are reported by VICE as also being arrested – an associate known as ‘Leopoldo’ and another, 24-year-old Paula Valentina Joya Rueda who allegedly calls herself Gorda Sicaria, or ‘Fat Hitwoman’.

It’s reported Rodríguez began her alleged career as a hitwoman at the age of 18 and has spent the past several years building a small network of hitmen in Barrancbermeja, a municipality and city in Colombia.

Rodriguez is accused of carrying out several murders for a gang known as Los de la M amid an alleged ongoing battle for the control of drug trafficking in the area.

She is also accused of being involved in the death of an ex-partner named Deyvy Jesús García Palomino on July 23 earlier this year, as per LibertadDigital.

Palomino – known as ‘Orejas’ or ‘Ears’ – is reported by the outlet as having been ambushed by two people on motorbikes and later discovered with bullet wounds.

He was then rushed to hospital where he later passed away.

Rodríguez and Rueda have reportedly been charged with aggravated homicide.

Lieutenant Colonel Mauricio Herrera said the arrests are ‘important results in combatting murder,’ as quoted by CBS News.

Academic and criminal organization specialist Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera told NBC News: “Sometimes, criminal organizations offer some women the opportunity to develop a leadership scheme.

“And since prejudice and machismo make them invisible in some way — they can advance in those activities without being seen. And that is one thing that we have to increasingly understand.”

The young mom even went blind as she begged doctors to take her seriously

A young mom was left bedbound and blind as doctors dismissed her declining health as ‘migraines’ until a scan revealed she had a brain tumour.

Tia Bradbury from Cheshire, England, had been experiencing migraines and eye ‘flickering’ for months, which she says doctors dismissed as hemiplegic migraines in December last year.

The 25-year-old, who was also 22-weeks pregnant at the time, noticed the vision in her left eye was declining by the day and became convinced there was more going on.

Why you shouldn’t have any metal for an MRI scan

She started suffering behavioral and personality changes and was soon getting two to three migraines a week that made her bedbound and sometimes unable to speak.

Tia explained: “I was irritated by everything. I wasn’t myself. I didn’t find joy in a lot of things.”

However, the mom-of-two was ‘shocked’ when she woke up completely blind in her left eye a few months later, in April 2024.

Tia explained: “It was quite sudden, it went from flickering to not being able to see a thing. It was so strange, the weirdest feeling. The migraines were horrendous, I couldn’t get out of bed.”

She dashed to an optician’s, thinking she needed glasses, but the optician urged her to go to the hospital as her eye was not responding to the light.

Even then, the prison officer claims she had to ‘push’ for an MRI scan as doctors continued to shrug off her declining vision as hemiplegic migraines, which can affect eyesight.

The mom added: “I honestly just thought it was a migraine because I was told that for so long by professionals.

“I wasn’t expecting them to say I needed surgery.”

She was rushed into surgery in May (

Kennedy News and Media)

But an MRI scan just two weeks later revealed Tia had a 3cm non-cancerous tumor in her brain which was pushing on her left optic nerve, causing the blindness, and was growing fast.

Tia believes she was not ‘taken seriously’ because she was a ‘young girl’ that looked like she was exaggerating her pain, but the mother knew her pain was not normal for a migraine.

The soon-to-be-mom again admitted she was worried as she rushed into a 12-hour surgery the following month, not only because of her existing heart condition after open heart surgery when she was just 11, but about how the baby would react to the anaesthetic.

It was a long road to recovery (

Kennedy News and Media)

She said: “It was just really scary, I was more worried that something was going to happen to me and I would have to leave my little girl and my partner behind. That was the worst part.”

Thankfully, the procedure was a success and the baby was ‘completely fine’, while Tia’s eyesight soon returned.

As for the personality changes, doctors said it was either the pain from the tumor or the actual tumor itself.

Her road to recovery was tough, but she got through it with the aid of her strong support network and now is migraine and pain-free.

The young mom is now urging others with similar symptoms to ‘trust their gut’ and press doctors to take them seriously.

Fortunately, she is now migraine and pain-free (

Kennedy News and Media)

She added: “If I had left it and not continually gone back to the hospital, I probably wouldn’t be here now.”

A spokesperson for Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are unable to comment in detail about individual patients due to confidentiality reasons but would like to emphasise that we take any issues raised regarding a patient’s care very seriously.

“We would encourage Ms Bradbury to get in touch with our Patient Advice and Complaints Team in the first instance so this can be looked into.”

Dwayne Johnson had heartbreaking response after interviewer asked him if he ever has 'fun'

Interviewer and TikToker Speedy Morman asked Dwayne Johnson a simple but hard-hitting question

A TikToker has revealed how he ‘changed The Rock’s life’ during an interview with the famous wrestler-turned-actor.

Interviewer Speedy Morman sent Dwayne Johnson ‘into an existential crisis’ after asking him a simple but very important question.

Dwayne Johnson opens up about fame

In a TikTok video captioned ‘I changed The Rock’s life’, Speedy explained he interviewed the actor several weeks previously ,and during the interview preparation, he realized Johnson ‘probably doesn’t have that much fun because he’s always f**king working’.

The interviewer began to wonder whether or not the actor was ‘actually happy’, and so he decided to find out.

A clip of the interview shows Speedy telling The Rock: “You, if I’m honest, don’t seem like you have a lot of fun.”

While Johnson laughs in response, Speedy presses: “Do you have fun? Do you enjoy this?”

Johnson praised the question, noting how much he ‘loved’ it, before asking what Speedy meant by fun, admitting he actually had to ‘think about’ the question.

Speedy revealed Johnson later referenced the pair’s discussion together in a later interview, the actor calling it one of his ‘favorite interviews ever’.

The Rock continued: “I went home and I was talking to my family about that and I was like, it made me think, I should have more fun.”

And then on Monday (December 2), Johnson took to his Instagram to reveal he was doing something he hadn’t done ‘in easily over a year’.

“Putting my feet up, relaxing. We all work hard and we should enjoy and put our feet up and I know a lot of you guys do it well,” Johnson explained. “I need to do a better job at it. I need to do a better job at just stopping and enjoying the hard work. I’m on my way, step one.”

Speedy commented on the post: “Finally. Happy for u bro, stay awhile.”

The Rock replied: “@speedymorman you were the one who motivated me to do this, brother.”

He even sent the interviewer a voice note. *Silent tear*

And it’s not taken long for social media users to weigh in.

One TikToker wrote: “You sent the rock into an existential crisis lol.”

“Bro smelled what The Rock was cooking, and told him he’s missing an ingredient,” another added.

A third commented: “Imagine being asked a million different questions but never being asked, ‘You okay, bro?'”

Divorce lawyer reveals the 8 leading reasons why couples split and how to avoid it

Divorce lawyer reveals the 8 leading reasons why couples split and how to avoid it

Divorce lawyer reveals the 8 leading reasons why couples split and how to avoid it

Take notes as ’tis the season for heartbreak after all

The new year might see us quit bad habits, ditch a few extra pounds and detox for a ‘new year, new me’.

Indeed, it’s a busy time of year for most of us, but for divorce lawyers, it’s getting even more hectic as December through to January, aka ‘divorce season’, is already in full swing.

Famous New York divorce attorney, James Sexton, has spilled the beans on the top reasons married couples end up in his office – and how you can avoid a brokenhearted end to 2024.

James Sexton has some top tips to save your marriage this Christmas (
Instagram/@nycdivorcelawyer)

Speaking to the New York Post, Sexton, who often dishes out advice on his Instagram, said 56 percent of marriages end in the ‘devastating process’ of divorce while some 20 percent attempt to stay together ‘for the kids’ or ‘because they don’t want to give away half their stuff’.

That makes for a failure rate of a staggering 76 percent, so how can it be avoided?

Here’s Sexton’s eight reasons couples turn to divorce and his advice to remedy them.

Complacency

Sexton said: “People get comfortable, and comfort becomes complacency.

“You stop doing the small things that made your partner feel special in the first place.”

It’s all about nurturing your partner with the little but thoughtful gestures.

Don’t overlook the small things – think along the lines of making your loved one a coffee or cooking dinner.

The lawyer recommends scheduling physical intimacy (

Schedule sex and physical intimacy

It’s a sure sign that you’re on the road to divorce if you fail to step up or even schedule physical time together in the bedroom, Sexton says.

The attorney said: “Sex is what differentiates a romantic relationship from every other type of relationship.

“Couples that stop prioritizing intimacy often feel like roommates.”

He advises planning time for physical connection, even if it feels a bit unsexy, as ‘desire thrives on effort’.

Don’t stay together for the kids

Sexton warns kid-centric marriages can often fall apart.

He told the news outlet: “Your kids are going to leave one day. What’s left after that?”

Instead of staying together for the kids, prioritise your partnership which will, in turn, strengthen the family bond.

After all, ‘happy parents make for happy kids’, he added.

Avoid the ‘social media trap’

Being glued to our phones and stuck in a cycle of trying to appear perfect online can damage our real-life connections, the lawyer warned.

Sexton said: “We’re performing our relationships instead of living them.

“Put the phone down, look your partner in the eye, and ask how their day was.”

Talking to each other is key (

Getty)

Communication is key

Divorce doesn’t just happen overnight, as Sexton said it’s the little things that often snowball into a monster.

He said: “It’s never the big things; it’s the toothpaste cap, the socks on the floor, the dishes in the sink.”

Clear and kind communication is the antidote to this problem as Sexton advises couples to ‘say what you feel before resentment takes root’.

Cheating is a symptom

Sexton explains cheating ‘isn’t the problem’ but is actually ‘a symptom of deeper issues’.

Although infidelity hurts, he says unfaithfulness is actually a sign that our partner’s needs aren’t being met and advises to improve on that all important communication before tearing up your vows.

Keep hobbies and friends

Identity loss is another compelling reason couples turn to the annulment papers.

Sexton explains: “When you lose yourself in a relationship, you lose the attraction that brought you together in the first place.”

To mitigate this, he said to keep up your hobbies, friendships and the things that make you tick as ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’.

Talk prenup

The lawyer said: “People think a prenup is unromantic, but it’s actually the opposite.

“It’s saying, ‘I trust you enough to talk about the hard stuff before it becomes a problem.’ ”

So there you have it, some words of wisdom from NYC’s top divorce lawyer who might have just saved your marriage this Christmas.

Couple who bought a Tesla each and drove around 500 miles per week left shocked after comparing their electricity bill

The husband and wife decided to ditch their gas cars in favor of two electric vehicles

There are many reasons to buy an electric car, and the money-saving aspect is one in particular that people are raving about.

According to the American Automobile Association, the average American driver spends about $3,000 per year on gas, while, as I’m sure you already know, running an EV is substantially cheaper.

In fact, it’s said that EV drivers tend to spend about 60 percent less each year on fuel costs compared to drivers of gas-powered cars, as per a 2020 Consumer Reports study.

Tesla drivers stranded as charging stations stop working

With this in mind, it’s no surprise that there’s thought to be over 2.5 million EVs on America’s roads.

Jumping on the EV bandwagon two years ago was YouTuber Mac’s Tech Toy Box and his wife.

The couple ditched their gas cars and purchased two Teslas within a few months of each other.

Before owning the two Model Ys, Mac said their monthly electricity bills were roughly $225.

After they purchased one of the popular Tesla cars, they monitored their bills further and, while they were using their new EV five to six times a week and traveling as far as 500 miles, they discovered that their electricity bill had actually gone down to just $214.

A YouTuber and his wife got matching Teslas (Mac's Tech Toy Box/YouTube)

A YouTuber and his wife got matching Teslas (Mac’s Tech Toy Box/YouTube)

Mac did note that this figure was between February – June during the cooler months, so he wouldn’t have been relying heavily on the air conditioning in the car, something which is notorious for draining a car’s battery.

Then, after purchasing another Telsa, they found their bills went up to $276, just over 50 bucks more their than original bill.

Going on to give further context, Mac said that when he had a Mustang he was filling up on gas around once a week and spending $40 (before gas prices drastically increased because of inflation), making it to be $160 a month.

Say his wife had the same car and was doing the same thing, it would add up to $320 a month between them.

A key part to them saving so much cash is by charging their EVs at home as public superchargers often have fees.

As per SolarReviews, it can cost anything between $7.84 to $42.75 to charge a Tesla Model Y Performance by using a supercharger.

‘Superchargers have rates between $0.11 and $0.60 and vary with location’, the website adds.

Other Tesla owners have shared breakdowns of their costs too, with one fellow YouTuber doing the math and working out that it’s just $375 to charge their particular Tesla over a 12 month period – which came to $0.023 per mile.

Jamie Lee Komoroski killed Samantha Miller in April 2023

Samantha Miller’s mom has spoken out on the moment she saw her daughter’s killer in court.

Last year, Miller was killed when Jamie Lee Komoroski struck a golf cart carrying Miller and her husband Aric Hutchinson – who had been wed that day.

Komoroski was under the influence when she hit the golf cart while driving 65mph, which was 40mph above the speed limit.

Hutchinson survived the tragic ordeal, but was left seriously injured and sustained a brain injury.

Several months after the crash, Komoroski was indicted and charged with driving under the influence resulting in death, two counts of DUI with great bodily injury, and reckless homicide.

At Charleston County Courthouse on Monday (December 2), Komoroski admitted to the charges including felony DUI resulting in death.

She’s since been sentenced to 25 years behind bars for felony DUI resulting in death, as well as 15 years for DUI causing Hutchinson’s injuries, and 10 years for reckless homicide.

Komoroski will serve the sentences at the same time.

Speaking in court, the 27-year-old expressed her remorse over the April 2023 incident, saying: “On the night of April 22, 2023, I chose to drink and drive, which resulted in the death of Samantha Miller.

“This is the worst decision I have ever made in my life,” she went on.

“Due to my poor decisions, a beautiful wife, sister, and daughter was taken. All I can say is how incredibly remorseful I am.”

Now, Miller’s mother Lisa has spoken out about the moment she saw Komoroski in court, and said she felt ‘nothing’.

“I know people want me to hate her and to wish her ill, but I looked at her and I felt nothing,” she told Mail Online.

“My daughter is gone; nothing can change that. She is a girl who made a series of bad choices, and my daughter is dead as a result.”

Hutchinson also spoken in court where he shared his wife’s final words to him before she died.

“She said she didn’t want the night to end,” the grieving husband recalled.

“I kissed her on the head, the next thing I knew I woke up in hospital.”

Going on to speak about how the accident affected him physically, Hutchinson went on: “I’ve seen more doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists than I can count, and I still feel the same as I did when I found out that day.”

He continued to say that he wish that he’d died that night instead of his wife.

Gordon Ramsay might be a boisterous chef but it is safe to say he knows his food

Gordon Ramsay has been yelling about food and restaurant standards on our screens for decades, well now he has some new advice for you.

Ramsay is no stranger to the kitchen – you know, with being an internationally renowned chef and all – so when he gives you advice on food, it is probably in your interest to lend an ear.

That is unless you’re fine at being cursed at.

While speaking on a podcast, he insisted there was a section of the menu you should never order from and his reasoning was pretty simple.

Giving that Ramsay isn’t just your average celebrity chef with a TV show, when it comes to serving the everyday public food, he knows what he’s talking about, having actually made quite a success of it.

His restaurant group Gordon Ramsay is no stranger to awards or Michelin stars for that matter – considering he has 17 of them.

The 58-year-old is mostly known for his potty-mouthed outbursts on the likes of Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, and he’s never shied away from telling us what he thinks.

On an episode of the High Performance podcast last year, host Jake Humphrey asked the chef: “How much did you think about your TV persona?”

To which Ramsay bluntly replied: “I didn’t, I didn’t give a s***.”

He continued: “It wasn’t a format for me, it wasn’t about IP or format or success. Remember the first program it was 5.8 million viewers on Channel Four.

“So, then all the intrusion started. Then everyone wanted to know who you were, what was your background, what makes this guy tick?

“I’m like, ‘I’m the same on or off.'”

In a previous interviews, Ramsay has shared what he’s learned from his years in the restaurant industry and what not to order on the menu.

The restaurant owner spoke about his three golden rules for eating in a restaurant, telling diners they should be wary of any place which throws around ‘suspicious boasts’ about the quality of their food.

If you hear a restaurant say things like ‘famous’ or ‘best in the country’ without any further evidence to back them up, that sets the chef’s alarm bells ringing and makes him wonder: “Who said that? Who named that?”

Ramsay’s also revealed one thing you shouldn’t pick off the menu when the waiter comes to take your order.

It turns out that the dish in question is anything off the specials board, especially if there’s a lot of options on there.

He said: “Specials are there to disappear throughout the evening. When they list 10 specials that’s not special.”

Ramsay went on to share a trick for getting the best bottles of wine for a bargain price, saying you should ask for the ‘bin end’ list, which is comprised of bottles with scratched labels or vintages which haven’t sold well.

He explained that you ask for a bottle of whatever is recommended for no more than $30, as that can get you an under-appreciated splash of wine to your table without costing too much.

Mark Zuckerberg’s jet flies 12,316 km per flight, sparking environmental concerns.

Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder and CEO of Facebook (now Meta Platforms, Inc.), is not just known for his groundbreaking contributions to technology but also for his extravagant lifestyle. Recently, his private jet’s flights, averaging 12,316 kilometers per trip, have sparked significant environmental concerns. As the conversation around climate change intensifies, the implications of such long-distance air travel by billionaires like Zuckerberg cannot be overlooked.

Mark Zuckerberg's jet flies 12,316 km per flight, sparking environmental concerns.

The Rise of Private Jet Travel

In recent years, private jet travel has become a symbol of luxury and exclusivity among the wealthy elite. Mark Zuckerberg’s jet, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, allows him to traverse the globe in comfort and style. However, these flights come at a substantial environmental cost. The allure of flying privately has led to a surge in demand, with many high-profile individuals opting for their own jets, often prioritizing convenience over environmental impact.

Understanding the Environmental Impact

Long-haul flights contribute significantly to carbon emissions, with private jets being some of the most carbon-intensive forms of transportation. A single flight covering 12,316 kilometers can produce more emissions than the average person generates in an entire year. The aviation industry is responsible for about 2-3% of global carbon emissions, and as private jet usage rises among the wealthy, this percentage is likely to increase. As public awareness of climate change grows, the luxurious lifestyles of billionaires are increasingly scrutinized, leading to calls for greater accountability.

The Jet-Setting Lifestyle of the Elite

Zuckerberg’s jet is not just a mode of transportation; it represents a lifestyle of immense privilege.
