“With Firefly Sparkle, we are witnessing a galaxy being assembled brick by brick.”

A relic galaxy has been uncovered from the early universe, revealing new clues about what our own galaxy, the Milky Way, may have looked like billions of years ago.

In new images from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, the galaxy appears as a long, warped arc teaming with star clusters that resemble a swarm of lightning bugs on a warm summer night. The dazzling appearance has earned this cosmic structure the nickname “Firefly Sparkle Galaxy.”

Using computer modeling, researchers “weighed” the galaxy, showing that it has a mass similar to what the Milky Way’s mass might have been at the same stage of development 600 million years after the Big Bang. Other galaxies discovered to date from a similar time period have been much more massive, according to a statement from NASA.

“I didn’t think it would be possible to resolve a galaxy that existed so early in the universe into so many distinct components, let alone find that its mass is similar to our own galaxy’s when it was in the process of forming,” Lamiya Mowla, co-lead author of the study and an assistant professor at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, said in the statement. “There is so much going on inside this tiny galaxy, including so many different phases of star formation.”

With the help of a natural phenomenon known as gravitational lensing whereby a foreground object acts a magnifying glass, the JWST revealed that the glimmering Firefly Sparkle galaxy has two companions, which together comprise the Galaxy Cluster MACS J1423. These two neighboring companion galaxies have a great influence on how the Firefly Sparkle galaxy forms and builds mass over time, according to the statement.

“Most of the other galaxies the JWST has shown us aren’t magnified or stretched, and we are not able to see their ‘building blocks’ separately,” Mowla said in the statement. “With Firefly Sparkle, we are witnessing a galaxy being assembled brick by brick.”

Given the galaxy’s elongated, stretched appearance, researchers were able to identify 10 distinct, twinkling star clusters, which are the main source of light emanating from the galaxy. These star clusters are represented in varying shades of pink, purple, and blue in the new JWST images. This signifies different stages of star formation, underscoring the galaxy’s staggered evolution.

The Firefly Sparkle Galaxy will continue to evolve as it is orbited by its two very close companions, which, during each pass, causes more gas to condense and cool to form new star clusters. These interactions not only help the Firefly Sparkle Galaxy grow and gain mass, but could ultimately lead to the demise of the two smaller galaxies, which could be consumed in a galactic merger — and we may just be catching this action live, thanks to the advanced capabilities of the JWST, the researchers said.

Three People Killed After Sat Nav Sends Their Car Through Unfinished Bridge

A sat nav sent three people over the edge of a bridge in their car, resulting in them being tragically killed. Find out more here...

A sat nav sent three people over the edge of a bridge in their car, resulting in them being tragically killed.

The victims, Kaushal Kumai, Vivek Kumar, and Amit Kumar, were security guards traveling back to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, from Gurugram, near New Delhi, India, following a wedding.

The accident occurred on a bridge spanning the Ramganga River, connecting Faridpur and Datagani.

Their bodies, still inside the wrecked vehicle, were discovered by authorities the following morning at approximately 9:30 a.m., according to reports from Mail Online.

The bridge, which had been damaged in 2022 due to severe flooding, remained in a hazardous and unfinished state at the time of the accident.

Investigators revealed that the men had relied on Google Maps for navigation, which led them onto the bridge despite its condition.

Lacking any visible signage or barriers to warn drivers, the bridge appeared open and safe for use.

Unaware of the danger, the men proceeded at speed, ultimately plunging off the edge.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, summoning four engineers and an unidentified Google Maps engineer for questioning.

The Times of India reported this development as part of efforts to determine accountability for the fatal oversight.

The victims’ bodies were transported by boat to Faridpur for a formal post-mortem examination.

The tragic accident has sparked public outrage, particularly among the victims’ families and residents of the region.

They have condemned local officials for neglecting to secure the bridge and ensure proper warning signs were in place.

“The officials must be held accountable for this negligence. Why was the bridge left incomplete, and why were there no safety measures in place?” a relative of one of the victims stated to The Hindustan Times.

They also demanded a comprehensive investigation to prevent similar incidents.

A spokesperson for Google extended sympathies to the victims’ families and assured the public that the company is cooperating with authorities to support the investigation.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the families,” the statement read.

The bridge, visibly damaged and unusable, had suffered significant structural harm after heavy flooding two years earlier.

Despite its precarious condition, no effective measures had been taken to block access or alert travelers of the risks, leaving the structure vulnerable to such tragedies.

As investigations continue, there is mounting pressure on local officials and technology providers to ensure greater accountability and safety measures in the future.

Wendy Williams Pictured After News She’s Been Left ‘Permanently Incapacitated’

Wendy Williams has been pictured after news broke that she has been left ‘permanently incapacitated’.

Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, shared an update on her early on-set dementia.

The 60-year-old was all smiles while sat in the back of a black SUV in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The retired star was picking up an order from Sho’nuff Oysters.

She was wearing an army green jacket and had a large ring on her finger as well as multiple bracelets.

She was escorted by her nephew, Travis Finnie.

The sighting comes after her legal guardian shared that her mental health had gotten worse.

A letter filed in court on Nov 12 said: “[Wendy Williams Hunter], an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated,”

The court filing was produced to support Morrisey’s lawsuit against A+E Networks for allegedly exploiting Williams in a documentary titles “Where is Wendy Williams?”.

The four part documentary series was released despite attempts to stop it and talks about Williams struggles with addiction and her financial issues.

It was revealed, after filming was done, that the 60-year-old had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, which causes memory loss and affects behavior.

U.K.’s ‘Most Dangerous Inmate’ To Spend Christmas Locked Underground

U.K.’s ‘Most Dangerous Inmate’ To Spend Christmas Locked Underground

Britain's most dangerous prisoner, Robert Maudsley, will spend Christmas locked underground and alone.

The U.K.’s ‘most dangerous inmate’ will spend Christmas alone in an underground ‘glass cage.

Robert Maudsley is an English man who has been behind bars since 1974. He is reportedly the longest-serving British prisoner in solitary confinement.

His cell is said to be made up of a concrete slab, and a table and chair made of compressed cardboard.

Like every other day of his sentence, the 71-year-old will spend Christmas Day alone in his cell at Wakefield Prison.

In 1973, Maudsley killed John Farrell after seeing photos of children that he had abused. He then surrendered himself to the police, saying he needed psychiatric care.

After it was determined he was unfit for trial, he was sentenced to Broadmoor Hospital.

In 1977, he and a fellow patient locked themselves in a cell with a third inmate and reportedly tortured them to death.

Maudsley was convicted of manslaughter over the incident and sentenced to life in jail. He was relocated to Wakefield Prison.

According to The Guardian, the inmate decided to set out on a killing spree shortly after moving to the prison.

He lured Salney Darwood, who had been jailed for killing his wife, inside his cell and cut his throat before hiding the man’s body under his bed.

Maudsley reportedly spent the rest of the morning trying to lure others back with him, but no one would go with him.

Eventually, he snuck into the cell of Bill Roberts and attacked him as he lay in his bunk.

Following the killings, Maudsley is said to have calmly walked into the wing office, placed his weapon on a desk, and informed guards they would be two inmates short when it came to the next roll call.

As there were concerns for both his and others’ safety, Maudsley was moved into solitary confinement where he has remained ever since.

Maudsley, who suffered a horrific childhood involving physical and s**ual abuse, has been labeled ‘Hannibal the Cannibal’ due to false reports he ate one of his victims’ brains.

While there’s no denying the inmate is capable of brutal violence, some have suggested he’s been hard done to.

In the Channel 5 documentary HMP Wakefield: Evil Behind Bars, Maudsley’s nephew said (per Metro): “I’m not condoning what he did, but… the people he killed were really bad people.”

Ex-detective Paul Harrison, who has interviewed Maudsley and other mass murderers, weighed in: “You’ve got the image of a monster… an evil man. I’d got all these preconceived ideas. If you didn’t know him and what he’d done, and you saw him in the bar… he’s a really intelligent guy, who made you smile.

“He’d talk about everyday things. A lot of serial killers are intense and narcissistic and talk about themselves. I didn’t find him like that at all. I thought, ‘Wow, this is something different to any serial killer.’”

Maudsley has reportedly said he’s ‘happy and content in solitary’ but has also compared his situation to ‘being buried alive in a coffin.’

He’s believed to have penned a series of open letters to the press, begging for classical musical tapes, a TV, pictures, and a pet budgie – which he promises not to eat.

Maudsley reportedly said: “All I have to look forward to is further mental breakdown and possible s**cide. In many ways, I think this is what the authorities hope for. That way the problem of Robert John Maudsley can be easily and swiftly resolved.”

Hotel Manager Who Called 911 Charged In Liam Payne’s Death

The CasaSur Palermo hotel manager who placed the 911 call shortly before Liam Payne's death is now facing charges.

The CasaSur Palermo hotel manager who placed the 911 call shortly before Liam Payne’s death is now facing charges.

Additionally, Gilda Agustina Martín, the operations manager at the Buenos Aires hotel, has been named in the case.

Payne, the former One Direction star, tragically died on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo hotel.

Surveillance footage revealed chaotic moments leading up to his death, including hotel employees forcibly escorting him back to his room from the lobby.

Witness accounts and evidence suggest that Payne, who had reportedly been locked in his room, may have attempted to escape via the balcony.

Items such as a crossbody bag and a New York Yankees hat were discovered near his body, while a bag containing drug paraphernalia was found on a balcony below.

Payne’s death shocked fans and colleagues worldwide.

Known for his candidness about his struggles with addiction, the singer’s tragic passing highlighted the complexities of fame and personal battles.

He was laid to rest in a private funeral in the UK, attended by his former One Direction bandmates: Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.

Although the exact charges against Grassi and Martín remain unclear, court documents filed on Monday indicate they are being notified of their involvement according to legal documents reviewed by Page Six.

“Since there is sufficient reason to suspect that they have participated in the investigated act, we ask that the following people give a statement,” the documents, obtained by Rolling Stone, state.

The two are scheduled to appear in court on December 19.

Two other individuals, Braian Nahuel Paiz and Uriel Alejandro Astengo, are expected in court on December 17.

They are accused of supplying drugs to Payne, who had a history of substance abuse issues.

Another key figure in the case, Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, will face charges of abandonment of a person leading to death the following day.

Nores, described as a friend and manager-like figure to Payne, allegedly failed to inform the singer’s family about his relapse into drug use.

A chilling 911 call made by Grassi just before Payne’s death has since been made public.

In the call, Grassi calmly stated: “We have a guest who is [allegedly] high and drunk; and when he is conscious, he is destroying his room. We need you to send someone, please.”

He expressed concern for Payne’s safety, adding: “He is in a room that has a balcony, and we are scared he might be endangering his life.”

Despite his plea for immediate medical assistance, Payne’s body was later discovered in the hotel courtyard.

Toxicology reports revealed that Payne had consumed significant quantities of drugs and alcohol prior to his death.

The autopsy determined that he likely passed out while attempting to climb down the balcony, leading to a fatal fall that caused severe cranial injuries and internal bleeding.

In November, authorities announced charges against Nores, Paiz, and Astengo.

Nores, who had been with Payne in the hours leading up to his death, faces five to 15 years in prison if convicted.

He has denied wrongdoing, maintaining his innocence.

Paiz, who worked at the hotel and claimed to be friends with Payne, is accused of supplying drugs but has also denied the allegations, stating he only used drugs alongside the singer.

Astengo has not yet commented on the charges.

Jamie Foxx Breaks Down In Tears As He Finally Shares Health Battle After Months Of Silence

Jamie Foxx has opened up about a harrowing health crisis he recently experienced that left him hospitalized.

Jamie Foxx recently opened up about his harrowing medical crisis, finally revealing the details of the health battle that left him hospitalized.

The actor’s revelation has drawn an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, including Dwayne Johnson, who commented: “I’m gonna bear hug the f*** outta you when I see you again.”

During the special, Foxx recounted the events leading up to his hospitalization. “On April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for Aspirin,” he explained.

“I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*** to do.”

Foxx grew emotional as he reflected on the near-death experience, telling his audience: “Your life doesn’t flash before you. It was kind of oddly peaceful. I saw the tunnel, but I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel.”

The actor, who was working on the Netflix film Back In Action alongside Cameron Diaz when the incident occurred, credited his sister, Deidra Dixon, with saving his life.

“She knew something was wrong,” he said.

Despite being unfamiliar with Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where Foxx was treated, Deidra had a ‘hunch that some angels were in there.’

Foxx added: “Atlanta saved my life.”

He revealed that he didn’t remember the next 20 days and was later told by doctors that he had experienced a brain bleed resulting in a stroke.

Doctors determined that surgery was necessary to address the brain bleed.

Foxx recalled the moment a doctor warned his sister: “If I don’t go in his head right now, we’re going to lose him.”

He described how Deidra prayed outside the operating room throughout the procedure.

Foxx’s recovery was long and arduous, involving physical and emotional challenges.

“Twenty days I don’t remember, but on May 4, I woke up,” he shared. “When I woke up, I found myself in a wheelchair. I couldn’t walk.”

In his special, Foxx reflected on the ways the experience reshaped his outlook on life.

“God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke,” he said.

Foxx revealed how his family shielded him from public scrutiny, ensuring that details of his condition remained private.

He credited their support for helping him recover, saying: “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way.”

Foxx also opened up about the emotional toll of his recovery.

He admitted to feeling ‘down in the dumps’ at times but credited a psychiatrist and a renewed connection with God for helping him regain hope.

Humor, he noted, became a lifeline.

“If I can stay funny, I can stay alive,” he remarked.

In an earlier Instagram video, Foxx thanked fans for their prayers and support.

“I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through,” he said.

He admitted to avoiding public appearances during his recovery because he didn’t want fans to see him in a vulnerable state, saying: “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me.”

Despite rumors about his condition, Foxx dismissed speculation that he was paralyzed or blind.

“I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well, but I’m coming back,” he assured his audience.

Foxx ended his Netflix special with a message of gratitude: “I just want to jump on here and let you know that I’m on my way back.”

Michael Jackson Replaced By Harry Styles As ‘New King Of Pop’

Michael Jackson Replaced By Harry Styles As ‘New King Of Pop’

Michael Jackson has been replaced by Harry Style as the 'new King of Pop', according to some people.

Michael Jackson has been replaced by Harry Style as the ‘new King of Pop’.

The ‘Billie Jean’ singer – who tragically died aged 50 in 2009 – is widely regarded as one of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century.

Throughout his career, Jackson was awarded 13 Grammy Awards, six Brit Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and 24 American Music Awards.

Plus, he holds 20 Guinness Records.

While Styles, 29, shot to fame on The X Factor in the boyband group One Direction.

He’s since gone on to become a solo artist and has dropped three studio albums.

Although Styles has a huge fanbase and has won three Grammy Awards throughout his career, people aren’t happy that he’s now being dubbed the ‘new King of Pop’.

It all started when Rolling Stone published a piece on the ‘As It Was’ singer that made a bold statement.

“Harry Styles: How the new King of Pop set the music world aflame,” it was titled.

While a younger audience may believe Styles has rightfully earned the crown, not everyone agrees.

Jackson’s own family has even spoken out, condemning the title.

Retweeting the cover on X (formerly known as Twitter), Jackson’s nephew Taj said: “Here is no new King of Pop.

“You don’t own the title @RollingStone, and you didn’t earn it, my uncle did.

“Decades of dedication and sacrifice. The title has been retired.

“No disrespect to @Harry_Styles, he’s mega-talented.”

Taj then suggested that Styles be given his ‘own unique title’ instead of taking his uncle’s.

Taj’s post has been retweeted more than a staggering 11,600 times and thousands are taking to the comments to agree with him.

One person tweets: “I’m a huge Harry Styles fan but no. He is not the new King of Pop. There is no new King of Pop.”

“100% agree,” another adds. “When Michael Jackson departed this world, the title of King of Pop left with him.

“It’s an insult to give that label to anyone considering the struggles the Jackson family went through back in the day to get to where they are. It’s retired.”

While a third person comments: “Well said Taj!! The King of Pop title is owned by your uncle and him only.”

However, others are taking to the comments and defending Styles being given the title.

“I mean… let’s use context clues… The NEW King of Pop… which means there was/is a FIRST King of Pop… which is your uncle. We all know this. Let people also shine,” one person argues.

Another user comments: “He is the new King of Pop, deal with it.”

Stephen Hawking’s End Of World Prediction Is Coming Sooner Than We Think

Stephen Hawking’s End Of World Prediction Is Coming Sooner Than We Think

The renowned physicist Stephen Hawking issued a stark prediction about the fate of our planet, and his prediction might be more relevant today than ever.

The renowned physicist Stephen Hawking issued a stark prediction about the fate of our planet, and his prediction might be more relevant today than ever.

Among his most striking warnings was a forecast about the end of the world, one that painted a dire picture if humanity fails to alter its course.

Hawking’s grim outlook is not only haunting but also thought-provoking as we continue grappling with global challenges.

Stephen Hawking

Before his death in 2018, Hawking cautioned that unchecked population growth and escalating energy consumption could lead to catastrophic consequences.

At the Tencent WE Summit in November 2017, he laid out a chilling scenario: if humanity’s trajectory remains unchanged, the Earth could become uninhabitable within just 600 years.

He explained per Joe: “This exponential growth cannot continue into the next millennium. By the year 2600, the world’s population would be standing shoulder to shoulder, and the electricity consumption would make the Earth glow red-hot. This is untenable.”

These remarks, delivered through his computer-generated voice, underscored his concern that Earth could transform into a ‘giant ball of fire.’

Hawking’s warning about humanity’s future wasn’t confined to population and energy issues.

He also pointed to broader existential risks, including nuclear war, pandemics, and the rise of artificial intelligence.

Each of these threats, he argued, has the potential to precipitate widespread destruction if not managed responsibly.

With recent global events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Hawking’s predictions about these dangers feel uncomfortably prescient.

Although there were reports claiming that NASA had backed Hawking’s predictions, the space agency denied making such a statement.

A spokesperson clarified to Newsweek: “NASA has not made this claim.”

However, the agency acknowledged that it has long studied global threats to humanity, emphasizing the importance of research to mitigate issues such as climate change and environmental degradation.

Hawking also emphasized the role of climate change as a key factor in humanity’s potential downfall.

In a 2016 interview with the BBC, he remarked: “Although the chance of a disaster to planet Earth in a given year may be quite low, it adds up over time and becomes a near certainty in the next thousand or 10,000 years.”

His concerns about global warming and the greenhouse effect are echoed by numerous scientists today, highlighting the urgent need for action to address environmental issues.

Despite these warnings, progress on many of these fronts remains slow. Population growth continues to strain resources, and energy consumption shows no signs of abating.

Additionally, advancements in artificial intelligence, while offering significant benefits, also bring risks that remain inadequately addressed.

Hawking’s prediction for 2600, where Earth becomes uninhabitable due to human activity, serves as a stark reminder of the importance of sustainability and foresight.

The question remains: can humanity heed these warnings and take meaningful action before it’s too late?
