Donald Trump sort of made good on his promise to release 1,100 declassified files detailing the assassination of John F. Kennedy this week – but many of them were still redacted.

How did JFK die?
Kennedy’s tenure was cut short after he was shot dead by a sniper in Dallas, Texas on 22 November, 1963.
He was famously riding in a convertible limousine with his wife Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Kennedy, Texas Governor John Connally, and Connally’s wife Nellie.
Harvey Oswald was arrested after police said he fired three shots in 8.6 seconds from the Texas School Book Depository building.
But just two days before his trial, Oswald was shot dead by nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who was allegedly ‘mobbed up’, former mafia captain Michael Franzese told Piers Morgan Uncensored.

One JFK document ‘missing’ from released files
Since then, conspiracy theorists have been waiting for the CIA to release the declassified files, which are now available via The National Archives.
However, one document in particular was apparently not included, according to James Johnston, the author of Murder, Inc.: The CIA under John F. Kennedy. Johnston claims that the document detailed the first one-on-one conversation between new President Lyndon Johnson and CIA Director John McCone.
Given that the president had famously tried to use the CIA to kill communist dictator Fidel Castro, the release of the document could have provided a possible link to the mafia and the CIA, the author says.
Johnston – who investigated the CIA in 1975 – told USA Today: “If it was going to embarrass the agency or tell a different story, they wouldn’t have turned them over to the National Archives in the first place.
“And if they were withholding them before, I’m guessing they would continue to withhold them.”
The National Archives and Records Administration, who hold the documents, said some files have been held under court seal or for grand jury secrecy.
“In accordance with President Donald Trump’s directive of March 17, 2025, all records previously withheld for classification that are part of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection are released,” they said.
“As the records continue to be digitized, they will be posted to this page.”

Former mafia captain Franzese, once of the infamous Colombo crime family, insists that the mob were involved in the death of JFK, and claims the CIA asked the mafia to help arrange the shooting.
“I will take it to my grave. I know this for a fact and this information eventually is going to come out – they came to us for help to assassinate John F. Kennedy,” he told the Daily Star.
Franzese – who claims to have made $8 million a week in the 80s through crooked deals – said the power of the mafia meant that the government wanted their help to kill Castro.
