Watson refused to shoot a scene in the 2013 film before walking out, later admitting that it wasn’t her type of humour
The British actor is best known for her roles in the Harry Potter series, and films like Little Women and Beauty and the Beast.
However, the 34-year-old has only ever been in one comedy title in her illustrious career, and it was back in 2013 with This is The End.
Though Watson has largely been out of the acting game recently, she was an A-lister throughout the 2010s, highlighted by the cast’s enthusiasm while she was on set.
The comedy film was co-created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are responsible for Superbad and The Interview.

There’s even a scene where Channing Tatum is in a gimp suit, while actors are made to essentially insult themselves and their careers for the duration of the film.
Rogen recalled in a 2021 interview that she was unhappy and even walked off set, saying: “I mean, I don’t look back on that and think: ‘How dare she do that?’ You know?
She also promoted the film, and Rogen clarified: “No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end. She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it.”
It was after Watson was asked to film a scene involving Tatum in a gimp mask, while he’s being walked on a chain by Danny McBride, who has turned into a cannibal (watch the film for context).
The scene was aired without her in it, but in an interview for the film, Watson spoke about the humour the film showed: “When I got the script I was like ‘okay, this is not my normal type of thing, not really always my sense of humour’, but like how could I miss out on a chance to work with the most impressive lineup of the best comedians in the world right now?”

Watson further admitted: “The biggest problem I have is that I find everything so funny that I try not to laugh all the time, that’s really really hard when people are saying the craziest things and you just have to keep playing it straight it’s very very hard.”
Director and writer Evan Goldberg previously admitted in interviews that he aims to get actors to say ‘no’ on set, with only Franco and Rogen holding out with each and every shoot.
