The relationship coach thinks it’s not such a happy way of living

We all have our own ideas of what makes a happy marriage or relationship.

Perhaps it’s about sharing loads of different experiences together, giving each other gifts or, having plenty of sex.

But there’s often that long-running joke being made that the older you get and the further into your relationship, then the less sex you have – however true that may be.

And a ‘marriage expert’ has explained why not having sex with your significant other can be so ‘damaging’ to your relationship.

High Thrive Coaching bill themselves as ‘international marriage experts’ and offer ‘relationship reboot’ courses to have couples out.

They also create various videos, sharing relationship tips and advice with one of these clips giving their opinion on ‘why is a sexless marriage so damaging’.

Apparently, it’s down to the consequences it has on your connection.

“In a healthy marriage you have sex and unless there are extenuating circumstances,” the woman claims. “If both people are physically able to have sex, they should be.”

The coach claims it’s the ‘mode of a healthy relationship’ to be sleeping with one another.

But she says: “Many of us get into, what we call, ‘an intimacy withdrawal’. It’s like our bank accounts, our emotional accounts, our physical accounts, our relational accounts have become over withdrawn.

“We are in a negative balance.”

The relationship coach went on to say it’s often seen that a couple may be home at the end of the day and while one may want to ‘share something’, the other is ‘checked out’.

This then leaves the person feeling like they’re not heard or that their partner isn’t ‘emotionally supportive’ of them.

It’s therefore suggested by the coach that having sex in a marriage stops people from checking out in the relationship.

However, of course, it’s important to point out that not everyone finds pleasure and emotional connection through having sex and instead, may have their own ways of being intimate.

But either way, the premise still stands that it’s important couples have that connection and spark, however you go about finding and maintaining it.

For some in the comments, ‘when sex disappears, the marriage is null and void’.

While others said having regular sex is ‘one of the main things’ that keeps their marriage ‘so excellent’.

Mainly, it’s important for plenty of people to ‘keep the passion alive’ in their relationship.

Lawyers for Sean Combs filed their motion after the rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges against him

Warning: This article contains discussion of sexual assault which some readers may find distressing.

The legal team representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has challenged the search warrants used to investigate two of the rapper’s properties and called for the evidence obtained there to be suppressed.

Combs’ defense attorneys made their claims in a new court filing on Sunday (February 23), as Combs faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and prostitution following allegations made by at least three different women.

As part of the investigation into Combs, authorities searched two of the rapper’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami.

An indictment later alleged that during these searches, investigators uncovered items which appeared to relate to allegations of ‘Freak Off’ events which involved sex-trafficking victims taking part in group sex acts.

The items are said to have included lubricant, more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil, drugs and three AR-15 rifles.

However, Combs’ attorneys have now argued that the evidence federal prosecutors obtained by searching his homes, as well as his iCloud accounts, phones and a hotel room, must be suppressed because the search warrants they were acting on were ‘unconstitutional’.

According to ABC News, the defense has claimed that the applications for the search warrants left out facts that could have otherwise worked in Combs’ favor, in turn presenting what the defense described as a ‘grossly distorted picture of reality’.

The defense argued that the judge who approved the warrants should have had access this additional context, with lawyers calling attention to details featured in the applications that came from an unnamed person identified as ‘Producer-1’.

The accusations regarding Producer-1’s time working for Combs were ‘never credible’, the lawyers claimed, while also noting that prosecutors did not plan to call Producer-1 to testify.

The motion, which has been heavily redacted, does not publicly state what facts were allegedly left out by the prosecutors when making their applications.

The defense wrote: “It worked — the government got its warrants, leaked damaging information, and then executed its military-style raids at Combs’s residences. Here, rather than giving the reviewing magistrate a fair summary, the government hid exculpatory evidence to bolster its case.”

In filing the motion, the defense attorneys aim to either suppress all evidence obtained through the searches, or grant a hearing to examine the government’s conduct in obtaining the warrants.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, with attorneys previously claiming that the ‘truth will prevail’ when his case goes to court.

Staff could be forced into resignation, the world’s richest man has warned

Elon Musk has warned that federal employees could be forced into ‘resignation’ if they don’t respond to a six-word demand, and NASA workers have received particular guidance on how they should respond.

The SpaceX founder and billionaire is leading Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and has been tasked with cutting federal spending.

And he’s most certainly been doing that, with cuts among diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) programs and foreign aid among those being axed.

DOGE itself claims its cost-cutting moves have saved the US public $55 billion in federal funds, although this figure is yet to be verified, as per ABC News.

Anyway, Elon Musk’s most recent tactic came in the form of a seemingly innocuous e-mail asking employees about their week.

If ignored, though, it could see people lose their jobs, he warned.

What does the DOGE email say?

An email with the simple subject line: “What did you do last week?” should’ve hit federal worker’s inboxes today over the weekend.

In a post shared to Twitter, one person revealed the content of the email, sent from HR.

“Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager,” it read.

“Please do not send any classified information, links, or attachments. Deadline is this Monday at 11:59pmEST.”

The mass emails are going out to federal workers, with the subject line, “What did you do last week?” It asks workers to respond with 5 bullet points ‘of what you accomplished’

If you ask me, it looks like one of those dodgy phishing emails and I’d certainly be thinking twice about replying to it.

There’s no real indication it’s from DOGE, either.

Anyway, Musk took to social media on Saturday to forewarn employees.

He wrote: “Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week.

“Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

According to the BBC, the email landed in people’s inboxes following Trump’s appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), with emails obtained by CNN also showed they were marked as highly important, with Musk’s mention of resignation as a result of a non-response similarly not included.

How have NASA employees been asked to respond?

Bloomberg reports that managers at NASA’s Space Operations Mission group told employees to hold off responding to Musk until they could establish they were ‘in compliance’, adding that workers should ‘try to continue to enjoy your weekend’.

Another email to engineers at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston told them to ‘PAUSE on any response to the subject email’, adding they should ‘not disclose proprietary or pre-decisional information to unknown recipients without a need to know’.

Yesterday (February 23), a NASA spokesperson told Bloomberg ‘anticipating sending some guidance to our workforce tomorrow’.

NASA and SpaceX

NASA’s upcoming mission involves a SpaceX rocket (NASA Goddard)

Musk has sparked controversy not only by taking on the DOGE role, but because his space exploration company, SpaceX, has been awarded billions of dollars of federal funded contracts over the years by NASA.

As of February 13, Musk’s company had been awarded $57,460,047 from NASA – and that’s just so far this year.

The US’ Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) shows one contract, issued on January 17, was valued at $18,874,069, while a second, signed off earlier this month on February 10, came in at $38,858,978.

In fact, SpaceX is NASA’s second-largest private provider, racking up contracts worth a total of $2.25 billion from the agency in the fiscal year of 2024, as per Statista.

So, the fact that NASA employees could be forced into resignation over an email Musk has been in charge of implementing, is pretty ironic.

This all comes as NASA launches its highly-anticipated PUNCH mission to examine the sun’s atmosphere this week – launching on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, no less…

Caleb Schwab, 10, tragically lost his life while riding the Verrückt waterslide at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City in 2016

A 10-year-old boy tragically fell victim to the ‘world’s tallest water slide’ almost a decade ago.

Caleb Schwab went on the Verrückt waterslide – translating to ‘Crazy’ or ‘Insane’ in German – at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City on 7 August 2016.

Verrückt was once the world’s tallest waterslide, standing at 168 feet (51 meters) and capable of speeds of 70 miles per hour.

The way it worked is riders would board a raft and plunge down a near-vertical drop before being pushed over a second hill.

On the day of the accident, however, Caleb’s raft became airborne and struck a metal hoop and netting that was intended to keep riders inside.

The impact caused fatal injuries.

Caleb was also joined by two women in his raft who suffered a broken jaw and a face fracture.

Investigations into the incident showed that the ride had serious design flaws and wasn’t tested properly.

It appears that engineering standards were overlooked in favour of breaking the world record.

POV footage below shows the dangers of the slide which took the child’s life.

Verrückt was permanently closed after Caleb, who was the son of Kansas state representative Scott Schwab, lost his life.

The Schwab family received £15.8m ($20m) from numerous parties, including Schlitterbahn. Meanwhile, the two other passengers also made undisclosed court settlements.

Creators of the slide, Jeff Henry and John Schooley, were initially arrested on a charge of second-degree murder and 17 further crimes.

But in February 2019, they were both given the all-clear due to inadmissible evidence.

Judge Robert Burns said: “The court has grave doubts as to whether the irregularities and improprieties improperly influenced the grand jury and ultimately bolstered its decision to indict these defendants.

“Quite simply, these defendants were not afforded the due process protections and fundamental fairness Kansas law requires.”

Nathan Truesdell for The Atlantic made a documentary about the horrifying ordeal in 2019, titled The Water Slide.

“My first thought was that it must have been a freak accident—what a horrible, horrible story,” Nathan said.

“But once I took a closer look, I started to realise how complicated this story really was, and how this could have happened to anyone who went down that slide.

“There wasn’t a lot of science or ride engineering involved in the testing and design.

“They were sending sandbags down and basically hoping that they didn’t fly off of the slide.

“The netting that ultimately ended up killing the child was added to prevent the rafts from flying off of the slide completely.”

'Three deadly side effects of vaping' as author of world-first study says it could be worse than smoking

The expert initially believed vaping was more beneficial than smoking

A groundbreaking study has revealed that vaping could be more harmful to our health than smoking cigarettes, showing its potential to cause three serious illnesses.

For years, medical experts have claimed that vaping exposes users to fewer toxins, thus deeming them somewhat less of a health risk.

However, in 2020, a study published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) stated that vaping had been found to cause similarly negative effects as smoking on lung and cardiovascular function.

In 2023, experts at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Institute of Sport decided to take matters into their own hands by looking into the long-term effects of puffing on e-cigarettes.

And while results are still to be concluded, a study author and cardiac rehabilitation expert claims that vaping could actually be way worse for us than smoking cigarettes is.

This is a bit of an opinion U-turn for Dr Maxime Boidin, who did initially believe that ‘vaping was more beneficial than smoking’.

“Smokers tend to go outside and smoke, and once a cigarette is finished they have to light up another to keep going,” he told The Mirror.

“But with vapes, you just keep going and it’s much harder to know how many puffs you’ve had.

“It’s much easier to vape continuously because you can do it in places where smoking might be less acceptable.

“What we have found is the dangers for someone who keeps vaping are no different from smokers.”

The Daily Mail writes that vape vapour is produced by heating a liquid that typically contains propylene glycol, glycerine, flavourings, and other chemicals.

This concerning cocktail has raised eyebrows, causing experts to believe that people may be suffering increases in heart rate and blood pressure due to inhaling nicotine in vapour.

To uncover what vaping is doing to our bodies in the long term, MMU specialists enlisted the help of volunteers ages 18 to 45.

With a median age of 27, these study participants were given regular stress tests to measure the elasticity of their blood vessels and how quickly blood flowed to their brains.

12 hours before the test, they were asked to just drink water and not smoke cigarettes, vape, or complete any exercise.

A cuff was placed on each participant’s arm to measure how much the artery expands as more blood passes through it, as per Dr Boidin.

It was said that both smokers and vapers showed a worrying ‘flat reading’ signalling they were suffering from damaged artery walls that couldn’t dilate.

This means that these people were at severe risk of cardiovascular problems in the future, such as heart disease or organ failure.

The Daily Mail reports that smokers and vapers’ blood flow was similarly impaired, thus putting them at risk of developing cognitive dysfunction, including dementia.

“When you put this mixture of metals and chemicals into your body you can’t expect nothing to happen,” Dr Boiden claimed.

“The only benefit of vaping is to help people quit smoking, but if they keep vaping the result is going to be the same.”

Public health charity Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) states that around 11 percent of the UK’s population currently vape, with more than half (53 percent) being ex-smokers.

However, experts will be hoping that number will drop when the results of the study are released following its conclusion next month.

The NHS says that while nicotine vaping is not ‘risk-free’, it is considered ‘less harmful than smoking.

This advice refers to 2022 findings when UK experts said that in ‘the short and medium-term, vaping poses a small fraction of the risks of smoking’.

Apple CEO Tim Cook described the pledge as a ‘commitment’ to the future of the US

Apple has announced plans to invest a staggering $500,000,000,000 into the US over the next four years in what the company has described as its largest-ever spend commitment.

The announcement comes as the tech giant continues to roll out new products for customers, with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e among the latest drops helping to contribute to the company’s $3.73 trillion value.

It’s hard to imagine where such a huge company could go from here, but Apple and CEO Tim Cook clearly have big plans as the new investment has been described as an ‘extraordinary new chapter in the history of American innovation’.

Apple has a presence across the globe, but with its roots and headquarters stationed in California, the company has a ‘long history of investing in American innovation and advanced high-skilled manufacturing’.

In a press release announcing its investment plans, the company explained that the $500,000,000,000 pledge will build on this existing history, as well as supporting a ‘wide range of initiatives’ including artificial intelligence, silicon engineering, and skills development for students and workers from across the US.

Explaining the decision to invest in the US, Cook said: “We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we’re proud to build on our long-standing U.S. investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future.

“From doubling our Advanced Manufacturing Fund, to building advanced technology in Texas, we’re thrilled to expand our support for American manufacturing.

“And we’ll keep working with people and companies across this country to help write an extraordinary new chapter in the history of American innovation.”

How will the investment create new jobs?

In its press release, Apple explains that the company currently supports ‘more than 2.9 million jobs across the country through direct employment’, adding that it’s set to make 20,000 additional hires over the next four years.

The ‘vast majority’ of these hires will be focused on research and development, silicon engineering, software development, and AI and machine learning.

As part of the pledge, Apple plans to open up a new manufacturing facility in Houston which will be designed to produce servers that support Apple Intelligence – a job that was previously done outside the US.

The facility is set to open in 2026.

In Michigan, the company will create an academy intended to ‘train the next generation of US manufacturers’, as well as growing research and development investments in the US with the goal of supporting fields like silicon engineering.

As well as ‘direct employment’, the investment is set to include Apple’s work with suppliers across the US, as well as Apple Intelligence infrastructure and data centers, corporate facilities, and Apple TV+ productions.

Apple is also set to increase its US Advanced Manufacturing Fund, which supports high-skilled manufacturing jobs across the US, from $5 billion to $10 billion.

Alec Baldwin has discussed his relationship in his new TV show

Alec Baldwin and his wife have opened up about the prenup she had to sign before they got married in an episode of their new reality show.

Alec Baldwin’s life has been in the spotlight a lot over the last few years, so much so that the actor now has a reality TV show where his family features heavily.

In the latest episode of the TLC show, entitled The Baldwins, Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, spoke about the earlier aspects of their relationship – most notably the decision to sign a prenup.

For those not in the know, a prenup is a pre-nuptial agreement that both parties sign ahead of getting married to ensure it is clear how assets will be divided in the event they get a divorce.

During the episode that aired on February 23, Baldwin recalled his first marriage to Kim Basinger that lasted from 1993 to 2002 and his desire for a prenup.

He said: “After my first marriage I said, ‘Let’s have a prenup.’”

Hilaria admitted that at the time she didn’t take the necessary steps to understand what a prenup was and the significance of the document she was about to sign ahead of their wedding in June 2012.

She said: “I just don’t understand quite what a prenup is. Because you are like, ‘After a certain number of kids it is this.’ And I was like, ‘You know what? I will just sign it.’

“Which was probably very stupid of me back then.

“Now, I would read it again. I just said, ‘I won’t sign it. I don’t really want to think about the end by the beginning.’ And then you were like, ‘I don’t want to do it either.’”

The pair’s reality TV show also dives into the fatal rust shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The incident happened back in 2021 and Baldwin was was charged with involuntary manslaughter as he was holding the gun. He consistently maintained that he did not fire the gun and had no knowledge of it being loaded with real ammunition rather than dummy rounds.

Last year in July, a judge dismissed the charges against him.

The pair insisted the support and connectivity of their family unit helped them deal with the situation. Baldwin has also reflected on the negative impact the whole situation had on his wife.

Speaking to her, he said: “This has been just surreal. I mean, I can’t even believe that we’re going through this, and I always feel more in pain about you than me, because I think to myself, well, you know, ‘I’m going to try to my best to just get through it’, and I think what it’s done to you and how much it’s hurt you and everything.”

Couple leave friends and family stunned after sending 12:03am wedding invite on the day of the ceremony

The couple went to super sneaky lengths to make sure everyone was free

Picture the scene: you wake up to a text announcing that one of your nearest and dearest is getting married (yay!). The catch is that the ceremony is the very same day.

Cue a panic about what to wear, sorting spray tans, getting to the venue on time – and to add to the chaos the bride and groom aren’t answering their phones.

This is what happened to the friends and family of Ruth Ridyard, 35, and her now-husband Martin, 38, from Manchester.

They wanted to have a ‘casual and chill’ wedding, and thought the best way to achieve this was by giving their 24 guests zero notice.

They were super sneaky about the whole thing and went to the trouble of contacting people’s bosses on the sly to book time off for them so they could attend the ceremony, which took place on 22 February last year.

She told others she was planning a spa day or drinks so they would be free. The wedding date was two years to the day of their first date through Bumble.

Ruth, a construction worker, said: “We’ve both been married before, and we wanted it to be casual and chill.

“We were chatting in the kitchen and thought of the idea, and we didn’t ask each other; we just went along with it.

“We knew we wanted to do it and would make a day of it. However, we have more important things to pay for.

“The good thing was that the people we invited didn’t speak to anyone, so that was kept secret, and we could keep the surprise.

“I texted everyone at midnight.

“People took it well, and it was a good response. I got a load of funny reactions from people saying they would do their fake tan at 1am, but they were all fine with it.”

Four people who did feel a little let down by the whole thing, however, were Ruth’s four kids, after she told them they would be going to a trampoline park, only for them to end up at the comparatively boring occasion of their mum tying the knot.

On the morning of her big day, Ruth supped a few glasses of champagne, while ignoring her phone which was going ‘mental’, saying she found it all very ‘relaxing’.

The whole thing turned out pretty affordable too, with the couple spending £400 on a registrar, £500 on their outfits, £300 on a hotel and £200 on Ubers.

She also splashed £1,200 on a reception at a pizza restaurant with ‘shed loads’ of booze, followed by karaoke at a pub.

Ruth said: “We wanted the day to be like any other night but equally something we’d all remember. We had the best day and so did our guests. I might be biased, but it’s the best wedding I’ve ever been to.”

Denise Richards reveals one major rule she and her daughter follow after both joining OnlyFans

The actress reportedly joined the platform ‘right after’ her daughter did

Denise Richards has revealed how she really feels about her daughter’s OnlyFans career, remarking exactly where the pair ‘draw the line’.

You may know Richards from her role as a fan favourite on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, her portrayal of Bond girl Christmas Jones, or even be a subscriber to her OnlyFans account.

The 54-year-old debuted on the platform back in June 2022 after seeing the success her 20-year-old daughter Sami Sheen was having.

Sami – the eldest daughter of Richards and her ex-husband Charlie Sheen – announced her foray into the adult industry when she was 18.

At the time of the announcement, her mother left a supportive message on her Instagram profile.

“Sami I will always support you & always have your back,” the World Is Not Enough alumna typed,” as per Metro. “I love you”.

According to a new interview with PEOPLE, the 20-year-old revealed she’d joined the platform to purchase an apartment after realising ‘working at a candy shop’ wasn’t going to cut it.

“So I went to the next best thing and made an OnlyFans,” she confessed.

Two years later, and Sami claims her online work has opened ‘so many doors’ for her, adding she’s also met some ‘really cool’ people.

“It’s been really rewarding being my own boss and making my own hours and being able to do the things I’ve always wanted to do.”

Sami also claims she talks to other OnlyFans models or watches videos to get different ideas.

Unfortunately, Sami has reportedly received backlash for posting on the content, which has made her mum ‘upset’ by reminding her of the actress’ own grapple with the media.

Drawing on her own experiences as a ‘sex symbol’, Richards told the publication: “It bothered me that Sami was getting backlash for owning her own sexuality and her being a woman and doing what she wanted to.”

Following in her daughter’s footsteps, the reality TV star now also produces content for OnlyFans, a move Sami says she thinks is ‘great’.

“I always just tell her I wish she waited a little bit because she started it right after I did,” she confessed. “But yeah, it doesn’t bother me at all.

Sami also claimed there was a boundary in place when it comes to the mother-daughter duo pursuing their own online careers.

The rule? Don’t look at what the other is posting on their platform.

When asked if they had checked out each other’s pages, Sami told People: “No, that would be weird.”

The Scary Movie 3 actor echoed: “Yes, we draw a line there.”

Sami’s younger sister Lola, 19, – whose father is also Two and a Half Men’s Sheen – has also revealed her opinion on her mother doing OnlyFans.

“Whatever makes her happy,” she claimed.

The tell-all interview comes ahead of Richards’ new Bravo series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, which is set to debut on March 2.

The programme will document the Illinois native’s life with her husband Aaron Phyphers, and is set to feature appearances from Sami and Lola, as well as their younger sister Eloise Richards.

Richards added that the family will be just ‘trying to be themselves’ through the show, which has ‘always been her approach’.
