Brits stunned by 'easy' 1% club question 90% of people can't solve on US version of show

Did you get this one right?

A question on the US version of The 1% Club doing the rounds online has left Brits baffled.

Seeing as The 1% Club is a beloved staple of British TV, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the game has managed to make its way across the Atlantic Ocean and given a makeover for US audiences.

With comedian Patton Oswalt serving as the American equivalent of Lee Mack, the series follows the same format: a group of contestants are asked 15 questions in varying difficulty, the prize on offer for those who make it to the end? Up to $100,000 (£79k) prize money.

Could you get this question? (FOX Broadcasting Company)

However there are some variations between the US and UK versions, with a clip showing one of the game’s more difficult questions shocking Brit viewers.

For the 10% question, Oswalt asks the remaining contestants to work out which month comes next in s sequence shown on screen.

The months are ‘April, August, December, February’ followed by a blank space.

Any guesses on what the answer would be?

If you’re unable to get it then don’t worry, as Oswalt would subsequently reveal the question knocked out half of the remaining contestants in the game.

If the comments under the post are anything to go by as well it would seem most people viewing the clip were also stumped.

The majority of guesses were split almost evenly between January, July and September, while others argued on which way to answer the question.

So what is the correct answer?

After making us wait what felt like forever Oswalt reveals the correct answer is in-fact January, as the months are in alphabetical order.

However not all viewers were convinced about the difficulty of the question, with one apparent quizmaster declaring: “How… how are there people saying anything other than January. Like… how??? This is insanely easy.”

“How… how are there people saying anything other than January. Like… how??? This is insanely easy.”

“How is the us one so easy,” a second viewer commented, while a third added: “This would be 80% question in the UK.”

However it would appear that Brits also aren’t immune to having a bad day while doing a quiz, with a simple spot the difference knocking out 28 contestants during this year’s festive special.

“Wow,” was all Lee Mack could manage, before explaining to contestants and viewers at home that Santa Claus was missing his legs in one of the images.

Which is something you’d think would be an obvious difference, but apparently out as it eliminated nearly a third of the participants.

NASA discovered planet bigger than Earth with a gas that is 'only produced by life'

NASA discovered planet bigger than Earth with a gas that is ‘only produced by life’

NASA made the discovery last year

NASA have discovered a planet bigger than Earth accompanied by gas that is ‘only produced by life’ in what is an incredible find.

As the space agency continues to make incredible finds within our solar system, one particular find from last year still remains incredible impressive.

The discovery came thanks to NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, which was launched on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana in South America.

And while we’ve had many impressive finds come from the telescope in recent times, a planet found 2023 is surely up there as one of the more impressive.

The exoplanet is known as K12-18 b (NASA, ESA, CSA, Joseph Olmsted (STScI))

The exoplanet is known as K12-18 b (NASA, ESA, CSA, Joseph Olmsted (STScI))

The planet

An exoplanet called K2-18 b – also known as EPIC 201912552 b – orbits the red dwarf K2-18 in what NASA says is a ‘habitable zone’.

It’s located 124 light years away from earth and is around 2.6 times the radius of Earth and 8.6 times the mass of Earth.

It was first discovered by NASA’s Kepler space telescope which launched in 2009, however, during the Webb Telescope’s mission, the planet’s atmosphere was looked into more closely.

The findings

Last year, it was discovered K2-18b has a ‘presence of carbon-bearing molecules including methane and carbon dioxide’ – NASA revealed.

The discovery built on top of previous findings which suggested the planet could be a ‘Hycean exoplanet’ which is ‘one which has the potential to possess a hydrogen-rich atmosphere and a water ocean-covered surface’.

“These initial Webb observations also provided a possible detection of a molecule called dimethyl sulfide (DMS),” NASA added.

Signs of life?

Well, NASA explained: “The abundance of methane and carbon dioxide, and shortage of ammonia, support the hypothesis that there may be a water ocean underneath a hydrogen-rich atmosphere in K2-18 b.

“These initial Webb observations also provided a possible detection of a molecule called dimethyl sulfide (DMS). On Earth, this is only produced by life. The bulk of the DMS in Earth’s atmosphere is emitted from phytoplankton in marine environments.”

However, NASA also notes the planet’s large size could indicate it isn’t habitable to life forms as the planet’s ‘interior likely contains a large mantle of high-pressure ice’ or it’s possible its ocean is ‘too hot to be habitable or liquid’.

What’s next?

University of Cambridge astronomer Nikku Madhusudhan said: “Our findings underscore the importance of considering diverse habitable environments in the search for life elsewhere.

“Traditionally, the search for life on exoplanets has focused primarily on smaller rocky planets, but the larger Hycean worlds are significantly more conducive to atmospheric observations.”

On Friday (26 April), the Webb telescope fully turned its attention towards K2-18b in a bid to further investigate the signs of potential life, observing the planet for eight hours, The Times reported.

Madhusudhan resolved: “Upcoming Webb observations should be able to confirm if DMS is indeed present in the atmosphere of K2-18 b at significant levels.

“[…] Our ultimate goal is the identification of life on a habitable exoplanet, which would transform our understanding of our place in the universe. Our findings are a promising step towards a deeper understanding of Hycean worlds in this quest.”

In February 2022, he stepped out in Los Angeles in a tight white tank top, flaunting his toned arms, bushy gray beard, and thick, wavy salt-and-pepper hair. This new look was a stark contrast from the clean-cut appearance he maintained during his “Star Trek” fame.

This was followed by other stints in films and TV shows, but the celebrity rose to superstardom after being cast as James T. Kirk in the hit franchise reboot of “Star Trek” in 2009.

Bobby Cavanaugh has been described as a ‘hero’ by his family

Warning: Contains reference to animal cruelty some readers may find upsetting

A Michigan man has been described as a ‘hero’ after he was allegedly ‘beaten’ to death by a neighbor when he tried to stop them from hitting a dog.

Robert ‘Bobby’ Cavanaugh had been out riding his bike through his mobile home community in Madison Heights, Michigan on Christmas Eve when he saw the animal allegedly being beaten.

Bobby’s sister, Jane Thompson, has claimed he attempted to intervene, but when he did he was attacked with an object.

Bobby was knocked unconscious and police and fire crews responded to the scene, where Madison Heights Police Lt. David Koehler said they found him ‘unresponsive and bleeding’.

“The fire department tried life-saving measures,” Koehler said, however after being taken to hospital Bobby was pronounced dead.

Officers are now looking into the incident and the claim that Bobby was trying to save a dog when he was attacked. The suspect in the case is known to law enforcement and was taken into police custody.

Per Fox 2 Detroit, Koehler said: “There was an altercation of some sort, but we don’t know what led to it. Our investigation has led to the arrest of someone, but it appeared Cavanaugh had some blunt force trauma which could have potentially caused his death.”

In the wake of Bobby’s death, his loved ones have paid tribute and demanded justice for the ‘animal lover’.

“He’s kind of a hero to me,” Thompson said. “He was always reaching out to others, helping them.”

A neighbor, Rebecca Spencer, added: “He would not let anybody kill an animal or hurt one. He has been in this community for so long, and he has helped everybody.”

Thompson has since set up a GoFundMe page in which she said her youngest brother had a ‘heart of gold’.

“[He] would do whatever he could to help the community in any way that he could and would never ask for a penny,” she wrote. “He did everything from his heart. He was a man that loved the Lord and always gave back whenever he could especially all animals.”

Thompson said her family wants to ‘honor’ Bobby by giving him a ‘proper burial as the hero he was’.

“His wishes were to be buried and not to be cremated. Thank you so much for your consideration as we continue to pray for peace, humanity for all of our world,” she wrote.

Thompson set the target for the GoFundMe at $4,000, but the fundraiser has since exceeded the goal and raised almost $19,000 at the time of writing (December 29).

Almost all of the passengers on Jeju Air Flight 2216 died on Sunday (December 29)

Another Boeing plane has reportedly faced landing gear problems following a fatal plane crash on Sunday.

Yesterday (December 29), a Jeju Air flight carrying almost 200 people crashed and killed 179 of its passengers.

The harrowing incident has since been branded as South Korea’s worst ever aviation disaster after the aircraft crash-landed at Muan International Airport at 9:03am.

Pilots had to abort the first landing attempt for unknown reasons, when it received a bird strike warning during the second try from the ground control centre before its pilot issued a distress signal, according to the transport ministry.

The plane, a 15-year-old Boeing 737-800 jet, landed without its front landing gear deployed, overshot the runway, slammed into a concrete fence and burst into a fireball.

Only two people, who were crew members on the plane, have survived the ordeal, with an investigation into the exact cause of the crash still underway.

Now there are reports that another Boeing plane has been forced to turn around today (December 30) because of landing gear issues.

As per The Economic Times, Jeju Air Flight 7C101 set off from Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport around 6:37am and had to land back at the same airport less than an hour later.

Song Kyung-hoon, head of the management support office at Jeju Air, said in a news conference: “Shortly after takeoff, a signal indicating a landing gear issue was detected on the aircraft’s monitoring system.

“At 6:57am, the captain communicated with ground control, and after taking additional measures, the landing gear returned to normal operation.

“However, the decision was made to return to the airport for a thorough inspection of the aircraft.”

Ahead of this morning’s incident, South Korean officials said they’re conducting safety inspections of all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by the country’s airlines.

Acting president Choi Sang-mok, who has only been in the position since Friday (December 27), presided over a task force meeting on the crash and instructed authorities to conduct an emergency review of the country’s aircraft operation systems.

“The essence of a responsible response would be renovating the aviation safety systems on the whole to prevent recurrences of similar incidents and building a safer Republic of South Korea,” said Mr Choi, who is also deputy prime minister and finance minister.

While the cause of the fatal crash is yet to be determined, David Learmount, who is the operations and safety editor of Flight International magazine and an aviation expert, said that more people would have survived if the concrete wall by the runway hadn’t been there.

“Not only is there no justification [for the wall to be there], I think it’s verging on criminal to have it there,” Learmount told Sky News.

Gavin and Stacey fans left in stitches after spotting continuity error during stag night in finale episode

Gavin and Stacey fans left in stitches after spotting continuity error during stag night in finale episode

Gavin and Stacey viewers were quick to spot the hilarious error in the finale on Christmas Day

After a 17-year wait, Gavin and Stacey fans finally got some closure when the finale brought an end to the storyline.

James Corden, otherwise known as Smithy, took to social media to thank viewers after it secured the highest Christmas Day ratings since 2008, drawing in an average audience of 12.3 million.

“Here’s some behind the scenes photos from the special. Thank you so much to everyone who watched last night,” the Gavin and Stacey co-creator said on Instagram. “It means more than you’ll know. All my love, James xx.”

Although the final episode went down a storm, fans were left in stitches after spotting a continuity error.

Let’s see if you can spot it:

In the emotional scene, Mick Shipman (Larry Lamb) issues a touching speech to Smithy during his stag night, calling him a second son after he and his wife Pam (Alison Steadman) struggled to have another child after Gavin (Matthew Horne).

Over on TikTok, however, one eagle-eyed fan pointed out the state of Mick’s pint glass throughout the scene.

It went from full, to half full, all the way back to full during his speech.

“I love a good continuity error; Mick showing he can still drink the younger blokes under the table,” the fan penned (via The Daily Mail).

“I noticed this on the night! Hahaha,” another said, while someone else said: “Continuity errors are so irritating because you can’t unsee them.”

And a fourth said they ‘thought they were the only one’ who’d spotted it.

But they aren’t the only one with their eyes noticing errors upon another rewatch.

Gavin and Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones said in a recent interview that she’d noticed an error in the 2019 Christmas episode – and a ‘glaring’ one at that.

“I watched the 2019 Christmas special the other night and I noticed a glaring continuity error,” she told Magic Radio.

“You know Pam leaves the Christmas puddings behind and forgets to take them because they have been otherwise occupied and they are mortified?

“Then Jason arrives, and he’s stopped at the shop, and he’s picked up Christmas puddings as well.

“So, the next morning, when they haven’t got the Christmas puddings, one of them, and I can’t remember who it is, says ‘have we left nine Christmas puddings in the pub?’

“There’s 18, there’s double.”

The series’ conclusion, which originally aired between 2007 and 2010, saw Smithy and Nessa finally get married in front of their family friends before taking a group photo together.

Viewers were also left a little confused after Neil the baby, played by Oscar Hartland, was missing in the finale scene.

“Why was Neil ‘the baby’ left at his dad’s failed wedding with nobody he knows whilst all the others went to off to Southampton,” one user commented.

“Really feel for Neil the Baby. Smashes his ‘Blackbird’ performance but isn’t invited on the bus to see his mum and dad finally get together, a second person penned.

They went out there to celebrate her husband’s cancer-free diagnosis

77-year-old British woman Lee Flint travelled to Kenya with her husband Jack on 16 September to conduct charity work and celebrate Jack’s diagnosis of being cancer free.

However, after a few weeks there Lee was found unresponsive in her bed and rushed to the Mombasa Intensive Care Unit, with doctors saying she had suffered grade four kidney and liver failure and that her organs were shutting down.

The woman remains in a critical condition as she has suffered from internal bleeding and blood poisoning, but her family are unable to claim health insurance cover for the cost of her £80,000 medical bills as Lee did not declare any pre-existing conditions.

Lee’s son Jamie, 52, said that his mum had gone for a blood test and scan before she journeyed to Kenya but didn’t tell people about it, and he thinks she might have done it to avoid worrying her husband.

When Jack filled in the holiday insurance forms for the couple’s trip to Kenya he didn’t write anything down about the tests because he didn’t know about them, which has voided the insurance.

Jamie, from Addlestone, Surrey, said: “After my dad had finished his chemotherapy and my mum was his main carer which took a lot out of her, they inevitably made a mistake on the insurance form.

“A few months before that my mum had been to the doctor’s. My mum didn’t want to stress my dad out, she kept it to herself. But in the meantime she was becoming poorly and we didn’t realise.

“My dad was filling out the insurance form on his laptop and made a mistake and that’s why it’s invalid. It’s a living nightmare really.”

Lee’s son said that he feels ‘completely helpless’ as his mum is stuck in Kenya and he’s back in England, and the family have no idea whether or not the 77-year-old knew what her test results were as she is currently unable to speak.

Lee and Jack have been carrying out charity work in Watamu, Kenya for over three decades and would often stay there for months at a time. On this latest trip, they had travelled over with 62kg of clothes and reading glasses to distribute to schools and orphanages.

Jamie has since set up a GoFundMe, which you can donate to here, with the aim of raising enough money to get his mum back to the UK where she can continue to receive treatment.

He’s halfway to his goal and said: “Just be absolutely thorough when you do something like this, go over and over it again if you’re elderly or have any past history of being poorly.

“You’ve got to do it and you do feel a bit of anger during these companies, they are what they are, you have to do these things correctly. I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else. All I want is for my mum to come home but the hospital bills are extortionately high.

“I am absolutely humbled by the people, I’m not great with social media but I feel completely humbled and blessed, it makes me almost cry when I think about it.”

Every Babysitter Quit after Meeting My Husband – So I Hid a Nanny Cam to Find Out Why

When three babysitters quit after just one day, Sarah knew something was off. Determined to figure out what was going on in her home, she set up a hidden camera, and what she discovered left her stunned.

The morning sun filtered through the kitchen window, casting a soft light on the breakfast table where Lily’s half-finished cereal bowl sat. I wiped Max’s sticky hands as he giggled, completely unaware of the frustration building up inside me.

My phone buzzed on the counter, and I didn’t even need to look to know what it was. I felt a familiar sinking feeling hit my stomach. With a sigh, I picked up the phone.

The screen flashed a message from Megan, the babysitter I had hired just yesterday.

“I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to continue working with your family. Thank you for the opportunity.”

My chest tightened as I read the words again, trying to make sense of them. Megan had been great, just like the others—kind, responsible, and so enthusiastic when I’d interviewed her. What had changed in just a day?

I leaned against the counter, staring blankly at the message. A faint clatter from the living room snapped me back to reality. Lily was busy with her toy, her little brow furrowed in concentration, while Max toddled around, laughing at his own tiny steps. They were fine, happy, even. So why did every babysitter leave after just a day or two?

I deleted Megan’s message and glanced at the clock. Julie would be here soon for our usual coffee catch-up. Maybe talking to her would help me make sense of this mess. As I tidied up the kitchen, I couldn’t shake the nagging thought creeping into my mind.

Was I doing something wrong? Was it the kids? Or was there something I just wasn’t seeing?

When Julie arrived, I greeted her with a hug, trying to hide my frustration with a smile. But as soon as we sat down with our coffees, it all came spilling out.

“I don’t get it, Julie,” I said, setting my cup down harder than I meant to. “This is the third babysitter who’s quit after just one day. They all seemed so happy when I hired them, but then they just… leave. No explanations. Nothing.”

Julie sipped her coffee, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. “That’s really strange, Sarah. You’re not asking too much, are you?”

I shook my head. “I don’t think so. The kids are well-behaved, and I’m paying well. I just don’t get it.”

Julie leaned back, tapping her fingers lightly on her cup. “Do you think it could be… something else?”

I frowned. “What do you mean?”

She hesitated, then spoke carefully. “I mean, maybe it’s not the job that’s making them leave. Maybe it’s something—or someone—else in the house.”

Her words hit me like a splash of cold water. I hadn’t even thought of that. My mind immediately went to Dave, but I quickly brushed the thought aside. No, that couldn’t be it. He’d been supportive of my decision to go back to work, or at least, he’d said he was.

Still, Julie’s suggestion planted a seed of doubt. I tried to shake it off as we finished our coffee, but the thought stuck with me, gnawing at me long after she left.

I was exhausted from hiring new babysitters, only for them to quit after just one day. At first, I chalked it up to bad luck. But after the third one left, it started to feel more like a pattern. The kids wouldn’t tell me much—Lily’s five, and Max is two, so what can I expect?

I was eager to go back to work, but I couldn’t until I found someone who would actually stay. Something wasn’t adding up, and I was determined to figure it out.

By the time the clock ticked past midnight, I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to know. I wasn’t going to sit around in the dark, doubting myself or anyone else. It was time to take matters into my own hands.

The next morning, after Dave left for work, I rummaged through Max’s closet and found the old nanny cam we’d used when he was a baby. It was small, discreet, and perfect for what I needed. With shaky hands, I set it up in the living room, tucking it between some books on the shelf where it wouldn’t be noticed.

I told myself this was just for peace of mind. If nothing was wrong, then I’d have nothing to worry about. But if something—or someone—was behind all of this, I needed to see it with my own eyes.

Later that day, I hired another babysitter. Megan had seemed so promising, but I couldn’t dwell on that. This time, I went with Rachel, a sweet college student with a bright smile. She greeted the kids with so much enthusiasm, and for a moment, I let myself hope that maybe this time would be different.

But as I left the house, I didn’t head to work. Instead, I parked down the street and pulled out my phone, my heart racing as I watched the live feed from the nanny cam.

At first, everything seemed fine. Rachel was playing with the kids, and they seemed happy. But my grip tightened on the steering wheel as the minutes ticked by. I just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go wrong.

And then, just like clockwork, Dave came home early.

I sat in my car, eyes glued to my phone screen. Rachel was on the living room floor, playing blocks with Max. Everything seemed fine, just like it always did at first. But my gut told me to stay alert.

When Dave walked in, my heart pounded. He hung up his keys, his smile a little too casual as he greeted Rachel. “Hey there, how’s it going?”

Rachel looked up, a bit startled. “Oh, everything’s great. The kids are wonderful.”

“Good to hear,” he replied, though his voice had a forced warmth. “Can I talk to you for a second?”

Rachel hesitated but nodded. They moved to the couch, and I leaned closer to the screen, anxiety tightening its grip on me.

“Look,” Dave began, his tone serious, “the kids can be a handful, especially Max. Sarah’s been struggling with postpartum depression, and it’s been tough for all of us.”

My breath caught. Postpartum depression? That wasn’t true. My hands tightened around the steering wheel as I tried to process what I was hearing.

Rachel looked concerned. “I’m so sorry to hear that. But the kids seem fine to me.”

“They are,” Dave said, “most of the time. But it can get overwhelming. If you feel like this isn’t the right fit, it’s okay to step away now before things get too complicated.”

Rachel looked down, clearly unsure of what to say. Then Dave leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “And just between us, I’ve had problems with babysitters in the past. If they don’t leave quietly, things can get… messy.”

Rachel’s face turned pale. She quickly nodded. “I understand. Maybe you’re right. I should go.”

Dave smiled, satisfied. “No hard feelings. It’s for the best.”

Rachel didn’t waste any time gathering her things and heading for the door. She barely looked at the kids as she left.

I sat in the car, stunned. Dave had been sabotaging every babysitter, driving them away with his lies and threats. And I had no idea until now.

The next morning, the air in the kitchen felt thick, heavy with the words I hadn’t said yet. The usual clatter of breakfast prep faded into the background as I stood by the sink, gripping the edge of the counter.

“Dave,” I said, breaking the silence, “we need to talk.”

He looked up, surprised. “What’s up?”

“I know what you’ve been doing,” I said quietly. “With the babysitters.”

For a split second, guilt flashed in his eyes. But he quickly hid it. “What do you mean?”

“I saw the nanny cam footage,” I replied, my voice steady but filled with hurt. “You lied to them. You made them think I couldn’t handle things. Why?”

His eyes widened slightly, but he didn’t deny it. Instead, he leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest. “So, you were spying on me?”

I clenched the dish towel in my hands, trying to keep my anger in check. “Spying? Is that what you call it? After everything you did? You lied to them, Dave. You told them I had postpartum depression—”

“Well, you’ve been stressed—”

“No,” I interrupted, my voice rising. “Don’t twist this around. You scared them off on purpose. You made them think our home wasn’t safe, that our kids were too much to handle. And you made me think it was my fault. Why, Dave? Why would you do that?”

His calm facade cracked just a little. He glanced down at the table, his fingers tapping nervously against the wood. “I just… I thought it was better for the family if you stayed home with the kids. That’s where you’re needed, Sarah. Not out working.”

I stared at him, stunned by how easily the words came out of his mouth, as if he really believed what he was saying. “So, you decided that for me?” I asked, my voice dangerously quiet as I teared up. “You decided what was best for me without even talking to me about it?”

“I was trying to protect you,” he said defensively, though his voice had lost some of its confidence. “You’ve been overwhelmed with the kids, and I didn’t want to add more stress by having you go back to work.”

I felt a bitter laugh rise in my throat, but I forced it down. “Protect me? By lying to me? By manipulating every attempt I made to get back to work? That’s not protection, Dave. That’s control.”

He looked at me, his expression hardening. “I’m doing what’s best for the kids.”

The kitchen suddenly felt too small, the air too thick, as we stood there in silence, my words hanging between us. I could see the stubbornness in his eyes, the refusal to admit he’d been wrong. But I also saw the cracks in his resolve, the guilt he couldn’t quite hide.

“I don’t know what happens next,” I said finally, my voice softer now but still firm. “But I can’t stay here, not like this. I need time to think.”

“Sarah, don’t do this,” he said, his tone suddenly pleading. “I never meant to hurt you.”

Silence hung in the air as I turned and walked out of the kitchen, my mind made up. I couldn’t stay here, not like this. As I packed a bag for the kids and me, I felt a mix of sadness and relief. The future was uncertain, but at least now, I was taking control.

Only two people survived when Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed

The first words of one of the people who survived Jeju Air Flight 2216 have been revealed.

Heartbreaking scenes unfolded yesterday (December 29) when a Jeju Air flight crash-landed at Muan International Airport, South Korea.

In what’s thought to have been a landing gear issue, the plane hit the tarmac and slid into a concrete wall before bursting into flames.

Of the 181 people onboard the plane, only two crew members survived.

One aviation expert has argued that if the concrete wall wasn’t there, more people would have survived the tragic incident.

Operations and safety editor of Flight International magazine David Learmount told Sky News: “Not only is there no justification [for the wall to be there], I think it’s verging on criminal to have it there.

“That kind of structure should not be there. That is awful. That is unbelievably awful.”

He added: “He [the pilot] has brought it down beautifully given the circumstances, they are going very fast but the plane is still intact as it slides along the ground.”

Now, one of the survivors has since said his first words, according to reports.

Identified by his surname Lee, the 33-year-old was taken to Ewha Women’s University Hospital in Seoul to be treated after crash, and upon waking up, he asked ‘what happened?’ and ‘why am I here?’, Mail Online reports.

While he survived the ordeal, it’s said that Lee suffered multiple fractures, including fractured ribs and traumatic spinal injuries, that could leave him at being at a risk of paralysis, as per The Mirror.

According to Yonhap News Agency, hospital director Ju Woong said Lee had also told the doctors (via NBC News): “When I woke up, I had already been rescued.”

She added that while he was in intensive care, he was communicating well and so far had showed ‘no indication yet of memory loss or such’.

The other survivor is said to be a 25-year-old female cabin crew member and is being treated at the same hospital ‘for scalp lacerations and ankle fracture’, a hospital official told local news outlets.

She is also ‘undergoing treatment for abdominal diagnosis’, they added, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Less than 24 hours on from the incident and another JeJu Air flight was forced to turn around after was seems to be another landing gear-related problem.

Song Kyung-hoon, head of the management support office at Jeju Air, said in a news conference, as per The Economic Times: “Shortly after takeoff, a signal indicating a landing gear issue was detected on the aircraft’s monitoring system.

“At 6:57am, the captain communicated with ground control, and after taking additional measures, the landing gear returned to normal operation.

“However, the decision was made to return to the airport for a thorough inspection of the aircraft.”

South Korean officials are launching an investigation into the safety operations all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by the country’s airlines in the wake of yesterday’s crash.

Strict rules you have to follow on 2000-person 'spicy' nude cruise ship

Strict rules you have to follow on 2000-person ‘spicy’ nude cruise ship

This nude cruise ship has a ton of rules to follow

You’d think that being on a nude cruise would mean the sky was the limit.

After all, does anything sound less rule-oriented than sailing across the ocean in your birthday suit? But it turns out that this 2,000 person naked cruise has quite a few rules to follow.

One person who took a trip with Bare Necessities Tour and Travel took to Reddit to share his experiences.

Bare Necessities

The ship set sail from Tampa, Florida and allowed holidaymakers to lap up the sights in Mexico and Honduras.

Speaking of his experience on the $2,500 (£1,965) trip, the Redditor insisted that it wasn’t a ‘swingers cruise or a sex positive environment’.

That would surprise many people, who would associate nudity with sexuality. But onboard this ship, there were a few rules to bear in mind.

For a start, the captain would make an announcement 30 minutes after departure about when clothes could be taken off.

The same would happen when pulling into a port.

Although it wasn’t compulsory to flash the flesh, most people on the cruise chose to do so.

As you might expect, people had a lot of questions about the experience and piled into the post’s comments section.

One wrote: “Do you carry a towel everywhere you go? It seems rather gross to have multiple naked sweaty bodies sitting or laying on everything that everyone uses.”

The original poster responded: “Yes. One must only sit with a towel under one’s bare butt. There are clean towels all over the ship.”

That’s a relief.

But the most important rule of all?

No photography.

The Redditor admitted: “I was much less worried here than I have been at nude beaches. Almost no one had phones with them outside their cabin. There were many signs posted. There were a lot of staff from the charter company whose job it was to enforce good naturist etiquette.

“And I’ve spent time online researching nudism and I’ve never seen a single online photograph from the cruise except for the group shots that people voluntarily pose for. For those reasons, I wasn’t concerned.”

Admittedly, it would be hard to keep a phone on you at all times without any pant pockets to store them in.

It seems like nudity is all the rage these days, with dating shows following the naturist route too.

As if Naked Attraction wasn’t enough, we also have Dating Naked. Rylan Clark admitted that he got the awkwardness out of the way, by looking at contestants’ nether regions straight away.

He said: “I looked down and did the sweep, and they all started laughing. I started laughing, the crew started laughing and then that was it.”

We’re all naked underneath our clothes, right? It’s the great equaliser.
