Royal expert reveals Kate Middleton’s jeans secret – confirms what we all suspected

Kate Middleton has been among the most popular royal family members for many years. The Princess of Wales has not only proven herself to be a royal family member of change, becoming increasingly more “one of the people,” but also, her down-to-earth sense of style has earned her legions of fans worldwide.

Kate has been a trendsetter throughout her entire time within the royal family, and it has even been given a name, “the Kate effect.” Meanwhile, even though she has been setting trends, the princess has also gone her own way, not falling for what is hot right now

One of those pieces of clothing sure is her jeans, with Kate often being seen wearing a skinny style. Why is that? And what is the secret behind her skinny jeans style? Let’s take a closer look at her fashionable choices.

Not only has Kate Middleton turned out to have an exquisite style, but the public always seems to want to emulate her fashionable wardrobe, which has sometimes sparked a frenzy.

Kate Middleton & fashion – the “Kate effect”
Over the last decade, it has even been known as the “Kate effect,” a term that describes the wide-reaching fascination with her outfits. As a result, this effect has had the power to significantly boost the sales of high-end fashion brands and change the lives of many smaller fashion businesses.

The “Kate effect” began in 2010 after she and Prince William announced their engagement. The then-duchess wore a sapphire blue dress from the brand Issa. As reported by Vanity Fair, within 24 hours, the dress had sold out online.“Would any dress have had the same effect? No,” Bethan Holt, fashion news and features director at The Telegraph, wrote in her book, The Duchess of Cambridge: A Decade of Modern Royal Style. “There was something about the Issa. It made Kate look glamorous yet respectful; she wasn’t trying to seem more mature than she was, but nor did the dress depict her as a slave to fashion.”

Since then, Kate has been keen to promote designers such as Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham and more affordable brands like Zara and LK Bennett through her taste and interest. According to Newsweek and as reported by the Express, the “Kate effect” could “be worth £ 1 billion to the UK fashion industry.”

When Kate Middleton wore the blue Issa dress at her and William’s engagement announcement, as mentioned, it became a frenzy online. Everyone wanted the dress that instantly sold out, and the brand became hugely popular.

According to fashion expert Bethan Holt, Kate Middleton’s style is casual and formal, youthful yet serious, down-to-earth and glamorous. The fashion editor stated in an interview that one of the main reasons for Kate’s everlasting style and fashion is how she took time to talk to designers and found a “circle of people” that she “really trusts.”

“Diana was often telling a story with her clothes, and she had a big evolution of her own personal life. Whereas the queen, the whole point of her is to remain basically the same,” Holt told Vanity Fair. “The public mood now is much less towards wanting royals that are very distant in their palaces. People want to be able to relate, and I think the royals realize that clothing is a way that they can do it.”

“There’s no better way than saying, hey, you can buy the same Zara jeans I’m wearing right now for £30. She’s had a lot of those [relatable] experiences. She went on a gap year, and she was a girl about town just after university. We saw those pictures of her having a job, and I think lots of women can relate to those things. She’s talked about mum guilt as well, and about the box sets they watch and what takeaway they get.”

For many years, Kate Middleton has had a laidback style that certainly applies to the public. Her outfits have often been studied by fashion experts, not necessarily because of how they fit or which shoes match which pants, but because some outfits send a special message to a specific group.

For example, when Kate visited medical colleges working in maternal healthcare alongside Princess Anne, the Princess of Wales wore a cream dress with a particular detail. Laces in the shape of pineapples could be seen on the pockets of the clothing, and it had a symbolic meaning.

According to The New York Times, “Pineapples have become a powerful symbol for women struggling with infertility. The fruit appears in the profile photos and Facebook feeds of women in online infertility communities.”

Maye Musk, a renowned model and dietitian, is as dynamic and resilient as her
son, Elon Musk. Born in Canada and raised in South Africa, Maye’s life has been
filled with hard work, creativity, and ambition. She became a model in her teens
and balanced this career with her dedication to health and nutrition, eventually
earning two master’s degrees in the field.

After a difficult divorce, she raised Elon and his two siblings largely on her own,
often struggling to make ends meet but instilling a strong work ethic and a sense
of curiosity in her children. As Elon rose to fame, Maye continued her own career,
becoming a celebrated figure in her own right, even gracing magazine covers well
into her 70s. But now, at 76, Maye Musk has broken her silence, admitting what
many had long suspected.

Elon Musk's mom says it's 'degrading' to call her son 'wealthy': He's 'the genius of the world' | The Independent

Maye Musk, a name often recognized for her elegance, resilience, and role as the
matriarch of one of the most influential families in the modern era, has recently
opened up about her life, her upbringing, and her relationship with her son, Elon
Musk. At 76, Maye has shared stories and insights that provide a deeper
understanding of her journey, her family’s values, and the extraordinary life that
shaped her and, in turn, her son Elon. These revelations, deeply rooted in her
upbringing, experiences, and personal reflections, offer a fresh perspective on
the foundation of Elon Musk’s incredible success.

Maye Musk’s story begins with her parents, Wyn and Dr. Joshua Haldeman, who
were anything but ordinary. Hailing from Canada, the Haldemans were pioneers
with a thirst for adventure and exploration. Joshua, a chiropractor by profession,
was also a passionate aviator and explorer. He and Wyn raised their children with
a mix of practicality, resilience, and curiosity, instilling values that would echo
through generations.

The Haldemans’ adventurous spirit was exemplified in their daring decision to
move from Canada to South Africa in the early 1950s, seeking new opportunities
and experiences. Joshua’s passion for aviation led the family on breathtaking
flights across the Kalahari Desert, an experience that profoundly influenced Maye
and her siblings. These explorations taught them adaptability, courage, and a
unique perspective on life — qualities that Maye carried forward into her own life
and later passed on to her children.

Born on April 19, 1948, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Maye’s early life was shaped by
a balance of academic focus and life experiences. Her parents emphasized
education while encouraging curiosity and independence. Growing up in Canada,
Maye was exposed to a variety of enriching experiences, from exploring nature to
engaging in household responsibilities.

Her family’s move to South Africa during her teenage years marked a pivotal point
in Maye’s life. Settling in Pretoria, she encountered a new culture and social
dynamics, which broadened her understanding of the world. Education remained
a priority, and Maye excelled academically, eventually pursuing a degree in
dietetics at the University of Pretoria. Her choice of study reflected her interest in
health sciences and her desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

While Maye’s academic pursuits were paramount, her natural elegance and poise
led her into the world of modeling. Starting with local beauty contests in South
Africa, Maye soon caught the attention of modeling agents. Initially, modeling was
a means to support her education, but it eventually became a significant aspect
of her life.

Maye balanced her academic and professional aspirations with remarkable skill,
earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dietetics while building a
reputation as a model. Even after marriage and the birth of her three children,
including Elon, she continued modeling, taking on assignments that aligned with
her responsibilities as a mother and a dietitian.

In her 40s, Maye made a bold decision to re-enter the modeling industry, this time
with a renewed focus and confidence. Her return was unconventional, as
modeling was traditionally dominated by younger women. Yet, Maye’s
perseverance and unique outlook allowed her to redefine industry norms,
eventually becoming an icon of age-defying beauty and resilience.

As Maye reflects on her relationship with Elon, she paints a picture of a brilliant
and determined individual shaped by the values and experiences of his
upbringing. Describing Elon as “sweet and brilliant,” Maye acknowledges the
influence of her family’s adventurous and resilient spirit on his journey.

Elon’s entrepreneurial drive and willingness to take risks can be traced back to
the environment created by Maye and her parents. From an early age, he
exhibited a curiosity and ambition that mirrored the values of exploration and
perseverance instilled by the Haldeman family. Maye’s openness to challenges
and adaptability served as a model for her children, encouraging them to pursue
their passions fearlessly.

Despite her significant role in Elon’s life, Maye largely remained in the
background, offering quiet support while her son rose to global prominence. Her
decision to wait until now to share her story reflects her humility and focus on
nurturing her children’s potential without seeking the spotlight.

Maye’s revelations highlight the depth of her character and the wisdom gained
through her experiences. She emphasizes the importance of resilience,
adaptability, and lifelong learning, values that have guided her through personal
and professional challenges.

Maye Musk’s journey is not just about being Elon Musk’s mother. She is a role
model for independence, strength, and embracing opportunities at every stage of
life. In her 70s, Maye continues to inspire as a model, author, and advocate for
healthy living. Her story challenges societal norms about aging and underscores
the power of resilience and self-belief.

At 76, Maye Musk’s reflections reveal the profound impact of her upbringing and
experiences on her life and the lives of her children, particularly Elon. Her story is
a testament to the enduring power of resilience, curiosity, and determination. As
she opens up about her journey, she offers valuable insights into the foundation
of greatness, reminding us that behind every extraordinary individual is a story of
perseverance, values, and unwavering support.

Three Teens Who Were KILLED While Returning For Christmas In California Tesla Cybertruck Crash Are Identified

Three teenagers from California were recently killed in a fiery Telsa cybertruck crash on Thanksgiving.

The individuals were returning home for the holiday season and were so excited to meet their loved ones but destiny had other plans.

The incident arose on Thanksgiving Eve. They were said to belong to the Bay Area college and were all longtime friends.

The cops probed the incident and are not trying to figure out the real reason for the crash but they’re yet to rule out high speed which they suspect could be the leading reason for the harrowing incident.

Authorities released the names today as Jack Nelson, Soren Dixon, and Krysta Tsukahara. They were all 19-year-old sophomores who met in high school and were going strong in college as well.

They were all heading home to Piedmont at 3 am when they met with the tragedy. The SUV reportedly jumped a curb rammed into a giant tree and burst into huge flames all of a sudden.

Meanwhile, one survivor named Jordan Miller managed to survive the crash but suffered from serious burn injuries. He’s being treated right now, his mom confirmed.

The family says they’re devastated to hear the news and cannot even begin to imagine how they will be able to move on from this mega tragedy.

First-time mom is stunned when newborn baby lifts her head and crawls across the hospital cot.

Three weeks late into this world, Nyilah Daise Tzabari arrived with an expediated plan to make up for lost time and get things done.

Lifting her head and scooting across her cot at only three days, Nyilah, a super baby, is evolving unusually fast, leaving her first-time mom and dad in shock.

She was less than three days old.

“The video was taken when Nyilah wasn’t even a full three days old. She was two and a half days old,” said first-time mom, Samantha Mitchell, of White Oak, PA, who added her wonder baby makes her feel like “she’s never had a newborn.”

Speaking with Kennedy News (though New York Post), the 34-year-old mom said, “I’ve babysat most of my life and have over 20 years’ experience with children and I’ve never seen anything like this before.” She continued, “I guess I’ve never been around many babies at three days old so there are a lot of (nuances) in it but I have never seen a baby like this ever.”

In the TikTok video, when Nyilah uses her tiny front arms to prop herself up and crawl, you can hear Samantha’s mom say, “no fricken way,” and Samantha, who sounds gobsmacked, saying “Oh my gosh. Mom! She’s crawling! Mom!…how does that even move?”

Responding to her baby’s cooing, Samantha says, “Well that’s what happens when you spend too much time in mommy’s belly.”

Born to parents Samantha and her fiancé Ofer Tzabari, Nyilah was three weeks late. She entered the world on February 27, 2023 at 7 lbs 6 oz and went viral when Samantha filmed her unexpected movements to prove to her family and friends that her baby was already crawling.

“My mother was the only other person in the room when it happened and she told me to record it,” Samantha said. “No one would have believed me otherwise. My fiancé wasn’t in the room, and I know if I didn’t get it on film, he would not have believed me…(The video shows) the first time I saw her crawl and I was in complete shock…The way she lifted her head too and was babbling left me in complete shock,” she added.

The video, Samantha’s first on TikTok, has 57.5 million views.

Fans were equally surprised about Nyilah’s incredible strength, and jumped in with comments like, “These new babies are different they come out crawling and be walking at 1 month old, talking at 3 months and getting jobs at 2yrs old.”

Another user jokes, “I would run out without the baby,” while one says, “Rumor has it she left on a plane a day later to live life.”

According to Healthline, most babies start to creep or crawl around six to 12 months. “And for many of them, the crawling stage doesn’t last long–once they get a taste of independence, they start pulling up and cruising on the way to walking.”

“Oh momma! you better get home and baby proof! that little is already on the move!!” One user wrote, cautioning Samantha on her quickly developing newborn.

“Sometimes I laugh and just think I wish she could be a baby,” Samantha said.

It seems like Nyilah is on the fast-track to growing up. At only 18 days, she was rolling from her belly to her back, at one month old, she was smiling at her mom, at two months she was rolling from her back to her belly, and at three months, she was slugging her mom with her powerful arms.

In an adorable video posted June 6, Samantha gets a mitten-covered fist to the face and giggling, she says, “Oh you punched mommy.”

In addition to testing out the strength of her arms, Nyilah is already standing with support, and mom predicts it won’t be long until she starts walking.

“Without a doubt, she will start walking soon. She stands at the moment. She puts so much weight on her legs. We’re not trying to make her stand. She just refuses to buckle her knees and sit down,” Samantha said. “She isn’t standing on her own yet, but she stands holding us and is always trying to stand.”

Also, Samantha shares that Nyilah is so strong, that she no longer needs her head and neck supported.

“I’m shocked every day by her. She tries to push herself out of her little chair and bouncer when we put her in it too…She is a very alert baby and has been since she was born. From day one her strength was very shocking to us,” the mom said.

Nyilah is turning out to be very chatty. At seven weeks, she tried to have a conversation, mimicking words spoken by her mom and dad, Ofer.

“We always say I love you to her and she seemed to be trying to repeat it to us and trying to say it. We couldn’t believe it. It is more like babbling but she is definitely trying to copy us,” Samantha said. “If she makes a noise and we laugh, she will keep making the noise because she knows we’ll react. She’s a very clever baby.”

Nyilah is also a very happy baby.

“She is such a smiley, happy baby and laughs all the time. The second you smile at her; she starts smiling and laughing back at us. She is such a happy baby and I hope her videos make everyone happy.” Tzabari added, “For me, it was the first time I’ve been with a newborn, and I thought her actions were normal until people began to tell me they weren’t…I thought this was how babies were but actually her actions aren’t average for a baby of her age.”

Niyalah is such an adorable addition to the growing family of Samantha Mitchell and Ofer Tzabari. We hope their home is well equipped to handle the quickly growing baby, who no doubt will be very curious when she starts walking. We can’t wait to see what Niyalah does next. Congratulations to the parents of the super baby!

Debbie’s terminal diagnosis was first revealed in September, with reports indicating she had limited time left.

AmoMama readers shared their condolences online, sympathizing with the 52-year-old musician and acknowledging the impact of lung cancer.

One reader commented“RIP. Lung cancer is terrible and all other cancers,” while another typed“Way too young, RIP.”

A third added, “Poor Eminem hope he be ok [sic].”

Debbie’s passing comes years after the death of her ex-husband and Eminem’s father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., who died in 2019 from a heart attack at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Eminem frequently addressed his father’s absence in his music, sharing how Bruce left the family when Eminem was just a toddler.

Despite attempts by Bruce to reconcile later in life, including a public letter explaining his side of the story, father and son never met.

Debbie, who married Bruce at 15, raised Eminem largely on her own after their separation.

She later remarried and had another son, Nathan, but faced persistent financial instability and personal struggles.

Her relationship with Eminem was often tumultuous and frequently played out in public.

In 1999, this tension escalated into a legal battle when Debbie filed an $11 million defamation lawsuit against him, claiming that lyrics on his debut album, “The Slim Shady LP,” falsely depicted her as neglectful and abusive, damaging her reputation.

By 2001, a Macomb County Circuit Court judge awarded Debbie $25,000, but $23,354.25 of that amount was allocated to her attorney, Fred Gibson, due to a prior agreement Debbie had signed, leaving her with only $1,600.

The agreement required Debbie to use proceeds from the lawsuit to pay Fred for representing her ex-husband, John Briggs, who was convicted of home invasion and malicious destruction of property and served nine months in jail.

Debbie later attempted to fire Fred, claiming she had been coerced into accepting the settlement, but the court rejected her argument, ruling she had forfeited her right to challenge the agreement.

Reflecting on the case, Fred described Debbie as “the most high-maintenance client” of his legal career, adding, “That amount was a far cry to the time I dedicated to her personally and to the legal action.”

Debbie was no stranger to challenges, often finding herself in the public eye as Eminem’s career soared.

She announced plans to publish a memoir as early as 2001, eventually releasing “My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting the Record Straight on My Life” in 2008.

In the book, she sought to present her perspective on their complicated relationship, countering the narratives in his music.

In a Village Voice interview later that year, Debbie revealed she was battling health problems, some of which she believed were hereditary.

“Cancers and heart disease and all that, and all the genetic things. I worry about my boys, having high-blood pressure and things,” Debbie said at the time of the interview.

She also discussed the difficulties of being thrust into the limelight as the mother of one of the world’s most famous rappers, often dealing with harsh public perceptions and unwanted attention.

“I have doctors who’ve played a lot of games with me, then told me they have shrines to my son in their homes. Then call me aside and tell me, ‘I heard that little brat beat you everyday.’ And it’s like, ‘What? What does that have with me being here?’ It’s really sad,'” she recalled.

Debbie also expressed frustration about being labeled “Eight Mile” by some police officers in Southern states, referencing the semi-autobiographical film starring Eminem.

She felt these remarks stemmed from a lack of understanding, noting that the movie’s portrayal did not reflect her real-life experiences.

“I’m just thinking, ‘Ignorance is bliss,'” she said. “It’s not a true story.”

In recent years, the mother-son duo made efforts to reconcile, with Eminem expressing regret in his 2013 song “Headlights” and apologizing for his harsh words.

Debbie later showed public support for her son, including congratulating him on his 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

HOT NEWS: Rupert Grint sparks ‘hypocrisy’ row as he loses tax battle amid ‘virtue signalling’ JK Rowling feud

Rupert Grint sparks ‘hypocrisy’ row as he loses tax battle amid ‘virtue signalling’ JK Rowling feud

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has faced cries of “hypocrisy” as he was forced to pay a huge £1.8million tax bill following a legal battle with HM Revenue and Customs.

The 36-year-old is estimated to have earned £24 million for his role as Ron Weasley in the popular film franchise.

However, Grint has been dealt a major financial blow after losing his long legal fight with the tax man over money he was ordered to pay in 2019, regarding the 2011-12 tax year.

In that year, a company set up to manage the Harry Potter star’s affairs paid him £4.5 million based on: “Consideration for rights, records and goodwill.”

Grint claimed the sum was a “capital asset” and would therefore exempt him from paying capital gains tax.

HMRC disagreed and, following a First-Tier Tribunal held in 2022, concluded the 36-year-owed £1,801,060.

Tribunal Judge Harriet Morgan threw out the appeal from Grint’s lawyers and declared the 2011-12 figure was “taxable as income”.

This is the second tax blow after the star lost a £1 million tax refund battle in 2019.

The embarrassing episode was considered ironic by some who blasted Grint for “hypocrisy” after his previous “virtue signalling” stance against original Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

Grint branded Rowling an “aunt I don’t agree with” as she was faced with fallout over her transgender stance.

As other Potter actors, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, came out to disavow he declared: “I firmly stand with the trans community.”

Reaction to the news among fans ranged from incandescent to mocking.

A multimillionaire who trashed the person that made him outrageously wealthy, because he didn’t understand gender, has proven to be not as virtuous as his sanctimonious image,” one fan slammed.

Another said: “Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving p***k. I hope @jk_rowling is laughing and laughing at his traitorous ginger a**e!”

“Virtue signalling woke w**k twat, I thought these libt***s were all about ‘paying their fair share,’ Karma is f*****g glorious,” a third gloated.

A fourth reminded: “He did not stand up for JKR, the opposite in fact. He is a smug toad.”

“But he identifies as tax exempt”, a fifth fan joked, in reference to Rowling’s gender self-identification.

Rowling has continued to embroil herself in gender rows, recently accusing the BBC of “spitting in women’s faces” after they awarded footballer Barbra Banda.

The Zambian player had previously been withdrawn from the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2022 for having high testosterone levels.

Transphobic billionaire author J.K. Rowling is attacking yet another cisgender African female athlete for not being feminine enough. This time, Rowling’s target is Barbra Banda, a 24-year-old Zambian professional soccer player who plays on the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Orlando Pride team and serves as the captain for Zambia’s national team.

After the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) recently awarded Banda the honor of Women’s Footballer of the Year, Rowling wrote on X, “Presumably the BBC decided this was more time efficient than going door to door to spit directly in women’s faces.” Rowling wrote this amid allegations that Banda had levels of testosterone that got her banned from competing in the 2018 and 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Barbra Banda: Từ võ sĩ chuyên nghiệp đến nữ tuyển thủ Zambia

Banda was reportedly found to have naturally occurring elevated levels of testosterone, exceeding the permissible level set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), according to iNews, which wrote, “The nature of the gender eligibility test she has taken is unclear.”

The CAF allegedly blamed the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for Banda’s exclusion, and vice-versa, the aforementioned news outlet reported. The BBC reported that Banda took hormone suppression medication to reduce her testosterone levels, but “these did not decrease sufficiently, and Zambia pulled her from the tournament.”

Despite this, the Banda has been declared eligible to play soccer in transcontinental and professional matches by both FIFA (the international body governing professional soccer) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Banda has competed at a World Cup and two Olympic Games, as well as in domestic leagues across four continents, iNews noted.

Even if Banda has elevated testosterone levels, that doesn’t mean that she’s transgender or intersex.

The feminist website The Mary Sue noted that another X commenter pointed out that the current BBC Director of Sport is an out gay man named Alex Kay-Jelski who had his children via surrogate. Rowling wrote in response to this, “Yep, femaleness is just post-modern performance art until they need an incubator.”

Executive director of the NWSL Players’ Association, Meghann Burke, defended Banda, writing, “The lowest form of discourse is personal insult cloaked with racism and lies, on X no less. Barbra Banda is a proud member of @nwsl_players. She is the best of us. Just so we’re clear, @jk_rowling: you come for her, you come for all of us. Me first. Let’s go.”

Out women’s soccer champion Megan Rapinoe also defended Banda on Instagram, writing, “We’re with her.”

The Orlando Pride wrote of Banda’s BBC award, “We are incredibly proud that Barbra has been voted as the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year, one of many outstanding achievements she has accomplished during this historic 2024 season … Barbra is an incredible role model and advocate for soccer in Africa, and we have seen firsthand the influence that her achievements and philanthropy have had on young girls in Zambia, as well as the instant impact she has made on Orlando’s soccer community.”

This isn’t the first time Rowling has publicly harassed an African athlete for not being feminine enough for her tastes. During the 2024 Olympic Summer Games, Rowling falsely claimed that Algerian gold medalist boxer Imane Khelif is transgender. Khelif is not transgender, but she is now suing Rowling for making false statements about her, resulting in a wave of cyberbullying and threats.

The performance began with Justin Bieber making a grand entrance, dressed in a white, wings-attached angel costume, adding a dramatic flair to the already star-studded event. As the performance kicked off, Bieber, full of energy and caught in the momentum of the show, unexpectedly lost his footing.

In a comedic and unplanned moment, the pop sensation lost his balance mid-step and crashed directly onto Eminem, who was already performing his own set nearby. The fall was as sudden as it was awkward, with Bieber landing in Eminem’s arms, sending the crowd into fits of laughter.

Ever the professional, Eminem didn’t miss a beat. He quickly steadied Bieber and, with his signature dry humor, joked about the moment, showing his playful side. The two exchanged lighthearted banter before continuing the performance, much to the audience’s delight. The mix of Bieber’s angelic costume and the unexpected fall added an unexpected layer of humor to the performance, showing the genuine camaraderie between the two stars.

The ISS was never built to last forever

SpaceX has won a contract to help destroy NASA’s International Space Station, and it’s set to take place sooner than you’d think.

Built in 1998, the ISS was created in collaboration with NASA, Roscosmos (Russia), ESA (Europe), JAXA (Japan), and CSA (Canada).

It’s since allowed scientists to conduct experiments that can’t be done anywhere else, orbiting about 250 miles above the Earth.

The US space agency described the ISS as ‘an unprecedented achievement in global human endeavors to build and utilize a research platform in space.’

But it wasn’t built to last forever, with its operational life set to end in 2030.

NASA will let the ISS slowly get closer to Earth 18 months after operations end on board.

Then, a spacecraft will latch on to the ISS and use its thrusters to propel the space station towards Earth. And it’s Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which has secured the $843,000,000 contract to do the honors.

A modified version of the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, the vehicle will have six times the propellant and four times the thruster power of a standard Dragon.

As the ISS moves through the Earth’s atmosphere, the station will largely break into pieces and burn up.

But the larger modules of the space station will make it through the atmosphere and land in a final splash spot, the location of which NASA is yet to publicly confirm.

Ken Bowersox, associate administrator for Space Operations Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, said: “Selecting a U.S. Deorbit Vehicle for the International Space Station will help NASA and its international partners ensure a safe and responsible transition in low Earth orbit at the end of station operations.

“This decision also supports NASA’s plans for future commercial destinations and allows for the continued use of space near Earth.

“The orbital laboratory remains a blueprint for science, exploration, and partnerships in space for the benefit of all.”

Some nine space stations will allow the continuation of work from space, including China’s Tiangong space station, which has been in orbit since 2021.

While SpaceX has secured a number of NASA contracts over the years.

Most recently, the company landed a $256 million deal to launch NASA’s Dragonfly mission to explore Saturn’s largest moon, Titan.

A Falcon Heavy rocket will launch the space agency’s Dragonfly rotorcraft from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, between July 5 and July 25, 2028.

The journey to Titan takes six years, meaning the spacecraft won’t be landing until 2034. Something to look forward to, though!
