From the remains of long-lost pharaohs to incredible artefacts we never knew existed, there’s rarely a dull moment in their work.

In this case, it wasn’t just another day at the office—it was a discovery that turned heads around the world.

The latest discovery in Mexico was no exception, as something truly unique was found.

The dig was taking place at the Pyramid of the Sun, one of Mexico’s most iconic pre-colonial landmarks.

This monumental structure is thought to have been built around 100 CE, showcasing the incredible ingenuity of ancient civilizations.

Although the site didn’t initially yield many artefacts, a 2011 excavation led by Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History brought some incredible findings to light.

Using a tunnel that had been constructed by archaeologists back in the 1930s, the team reached the mother-rock level of the site.

It was at this depth that they uncovered several fascinating items, including shards of clay pottery, animal bones, and three intricate human figurines carved from serpentine.

However, the most remarkable find among these items was a green serpentine mask.

This mask stood out because it was unlike anything they had ever uncovered in that region before, especially in a ritualistic context.

Researchers believe that the artefacts were likely part of an inauguration ceremony conducted during the construction of the temple.

What makes the mask even more intriguing is how lifelike it appears, sparking speculation that it might have been a portrait.
But whose portrait could it possibly be?

Social media users, of course, couldn’t resist comparing the ancient artefact to Jim Carrey’s iconic character from the 90s film The Mask.

“Sssmokin’!” one Reddit user joked, referencing the famous movie line.
Another added: “Uh oh, here we go again. DO NOT PUT THAT ON YOUR FACE!!!”, while someone else chimed in with: “Jim Carrey has entered the chat.”

Returning to reality, this discovery was made in the ancient city of Teotihuacan.

The original name of the temple remains a mystery, lost to time.

At its peak, Teotihuacan was home to an estimated 200,000 people, making it one of the most bustling cities of its era.

Despite its significant population and advanced architecture, much about the civilization remains unknown today.

Even the reasons behind their eventual disappearance continue to puzzle historians and archaeologists alike.

Beneath the temple lies a hidden room connected to a 49-foot-wide chamber that holds immense promise for future exploration.

Verónica Ortega, director of the Integral Conservation Project for the Plaza of the Moon, explained: “These large offering complexes constitute the sacred heart of the city of Teotihuacán, the reason why everyone saw it as the mecca of the civilization.”

“What can be found inside them will help unravel the relationship this ancient metropolis had with other regions of Mesoamerica.”
Ancient civilizations like Teotihuacan continue to fascinate people and inspire awe, generation after generation.

And while archaeology may not always involve daring adventures like those in Indiana Jones, the discoveries made are nothing short of incredible.

In another instance, Swoll addressed a man who was upset because a woman chose the treadmill next to his, despite many other machines being available.

Swoll criticized the man for recording her without consent and trying to shame her online.

In his latest video, Swoll expressed frustration after coming across a clip showing a woman appearing to straddle a barbell.

“This is one of the most disgusting videos that I have ever seen in the gym,” he said in a social media post shared on November 5.

“Videos like this are popping up all over social media and it needs to stop,” Swoll added, visibly frustrated by what he saw as a trend of inappropriate gym videos.

“People are sick and tired of it.”

He then called on gym owners to watch for this kind of behavior and take action by removing individuals who engage in it.
“I had to cover that woman up as she squats down, puts her private parts on a barbell, spreads her legs and rubs herself on it,” Swoll added, suggesting that the woman’s motive might have been to attract more subscribers on OnlyFans.

While Swoll clarified he doesn’t oppose OnlyFans creators, he urged them to keep such content out of the gym to respect others who are there to work out.

Set nearly 30 years into a dystopian Britain overrun by a flesh-eating virus, Cillian Murphy is making a highly anticipated return to the franchise that, in his own words, “changed everything” for him.
Although Murphy had appeared in several films before the release of the 2002 zombie classic 28 Days Later, his role as Jim, a bicycle courier who awakens from a coma to discover the UK decimated by zombies, became a pivotal moment in his career.

Following the film’s success, his acting career soared, eventually earning him an Academy Award earlier this year for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal in Oppenheimer.

When asked earlier this year about completing the trilogy for the 28 film franchise, Murphy expressed his enthusiasm, telling Variety:

Among the remnants of the ship, such as dishes, shoes, furniture, and even personal treasures, there’s something notably missing—human skeletons.

Despite the staggering estimate that 1,517 people perished in the tragedy of 1912, no bodies have ever been spotted on the ocean floor near the Titanic’s remains.

However, images of the wreck show no sign of human skeletons amidst the debris, leading experts to seek an explanation.

The answer lies in the depth of the wreck, resting 3,800 meters beneath the Atlantic’s surface, where unique environmental factors come into play.

In the deep ocean, bacteria can break down organic material, including bones, by extracting nutrients. But another factor contributes to the absence of skeletons—the chemical composition of the water at such depths.
Renowned deep-sea explorer Robert Ballard, who discovered the Titanic wreck in 1985, explained that the intense conditions below a certain depth can dissolve bones entirely.

He elaborated: “The water in the deep sea is under saturated in calcium carbonate, which is mostly, you know, what bones are made of.”

“For example, on the Titanic and on the Bismarck, those ships are below the calcium carbonate compensation depth, so once the critters eat their flesh and expose the bones, the bones dissolve.”

“Now in the Black Sea, because there’s no critters to eat, the bones should not be exposed. So you should have perfectly mummified fossils.”

British tourist, 20, dies while climbing on Spain’s dangerous ‘Monkey Bridge’ path

The unnamed tourist plunged to his death on what was formerly known as the most dangerous walkway in the world

A 20-year-old British tourist has tragically died after falling while climbing a Spanish path known as ‘The Monkey Bridge’.

According to reports, the man was near the Puente del Mono, aka the Monkey Bridge, on the Caminito Del Rey, which is around 70km (43 miles) from Malaga when he fell at approximately 11am on Wednesday 11 December.

The unnamed man was left unconscious by the fall, as per Sur, and when those who were accompanying him on the hike alerted authorities, the Guardia Civil immediately sprang into action.

A helicopter was sent to the site of the fall, as well as a mountain rescue team. However, it was evident upon arrival that the man had succumbed to his injuries and there was nothing that could save him.

A spokesman for the Guardia Civil said: “Members of the specialist Civil Guard Greim mountain rescue team based in Alora near Malaga, supported by a Civil Guard helicopter based in Granada, have rescued the body of a young British man.

“He had suffered a fall while he was crossing a via ferrata in the area known as Monkey Bridge near to El Chorro. When officers reached the man he had gone into cardiac arrest.

“Despite practicing CPR on him and evacuating him rapidly from the scene by helicopter to a nearby heliport where medical services were waiting, they were only able to confirm his death.”

In July of this year, a man also fell from the structure and plunged 20 feet into a tree below. But thankfully, he survived his injuries and a safety review of the hiking trail occured.

The Caminito Del Rey is famous for climbing and is said to be a terrifying experience as the walkways are built to cling on to the cliffs.

According to Murcia Today, thousands of thrill-seekers climb the Caminito del Rey each year, looking to enjoy the adrenaline-filled experience. The walkways are built around the cliffs and features high wire exercises for people to enjoy.

The trail is a whopping five miles long and was originally created to be a solution for workers of the El Chorro power station, which would allow them to get to work through the gorge unscathed.

While built and completed in 1905, it was previously known as the most dangerous walkway in the world and had fallen into disrepair, leading to it to be closed for many years until it reopened in 2015. With extensive repair work carried out prior to its opening, it allegedly underwent new safety measures, as per Euro Weekly News.

The tourist who died this week is said to have been climbing using the ferrata method, which sees hikers use steel fixtures, ladders that are bolted to rock and even wires to climb up.
