Three years after my husband abandoned our family for his glamorous mistress, I stumbled upon them in a moment that felt like poetic justice. It wasn’t their downfall that satisfied me. It was the strength I had found in myself to move forward and thrive without them.

Fourteen years of marriage, two wonderful kids, and a life I thought was solid as stone. But everything I believed in came crashing down one evening when Stan brought her into our home.

It was the beginning of the most challenging and the most transformative chapter of my life.

Before this happened, I was immersed in my routine as a mother of two kids.

My days were a blur of carpools, homework help, and family dinners. I lived for Lily, my spirited 12-year-old, and Max, my curious 9-year-old.

And though life wasn’t perfect, I thought we were a happy family.

The thing is, Stan and I had built our life together from scratch. We’d met at work and had instantly connected.

Soon after becoming friends, Stan proposed to me, and I had no reason not to say yes.

Over the years, we went through so many ups and downs, but one thing that stayed firm was our bond. I believed all the bad times we spent together had strengthened our bond, but I had no idea how wrong I was.

Lately, he’d been working late. But that’s normal, right?

Projects piled up at work, and deadlines loomed. These were just the sacrifices of a successful career. He wasn’t as present as he used to be, but I told myself he loved us, even if he was distracted.

I wish I knew that wasn’t true. I wish I knew what he’d been doing behind my back.

It happened on a Tuesday. I remember because I was making soup for dinner, the kind Lily loved with the tiny alphabet noodles.

I heard the front door open, followed by the unfamiliar sound of heels clicking on the floor.

My heart skipped a beat as I glanced at the clock. It was earlier than usual for Stan to be home.

“Stan?” I called out, wiping my hands on a dish towel. My stomach tightened as I walked into the living room, and there they were.

Stan and his mistress.

She was tall and striking, with sleek hair and the kind of sharp smile that made you feel like prey. She stood close to him, her manicured hand resting lightly on his arm as if she belonged there.

Meanwhile, my husband, my Stan, looked at her with a warmth I hadn’t seen in months.

“Well, darling,” she said, her voice dripping with condescension as her eyes swept over me. “You weren’t exaggerating. She really let herself go. Such a shame. She’s got decent bone structure.”

For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. Her words sliced through me.

“Excuse me?” I managed to choke out.

Stan sighed like I was the one being unreasonable.

“Lauren, we need to talk,” he said, crossing his arms. “This is Miranda. And… I want a divorce.”

“A divorce?” I repeated, unable to process what he was saying. “What about our kids? What about us?”

“You’ll manage,” he said in a clipped tone as if discussing the weather. “I’ll send child support. But Miranda and I are serious. I brought her here so you’d know I’m not changing my mind.”

As if that wasn’t enough, he delivered the final blow with a casual cruelty I hadn’t thought him capable of.

“Oh, and by the way, you can sleep on the couch tonight or go to your mom’s place, because Miranda is staying over.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

I felt so angry and so hurt, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing me break.

Instead, I turned and stormed upstairs, my hands shaking as I grabbed a suitcase from the closet.

I told myself to stay calm for Lily and Max. As I packed their bags, tears blurred my vision, but I kept going.

When I walked into Lily’s room, she looked up from her book. She immediately knew something was not right.

“Mom, what’s going on?” she asked.

I crouched down beside her, stroking her hair.

“We’re going to Grandma’s for a little while, sweetheart. Pack a few things, okay?”

“But why? Where’s Dad?” Max chimed in from the doorway.

“Sometimes grown-ups make mistakes,” I said, keeping my voice steady. “But we’ll be okay. I promise.”

They didn’t press for more, and I was grateful. As we walked out of the house that night, I didn’t look back.

The life I had known was gone, but for my kids, I had to keep moving forward.

That night, as I drove to my mother’s house with Lily and Max fast asleep in the backseat, I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders. My mind raced with questions I didn’t have answers to.

How could Stan do this? What would I tell the kids? How would we rebuild our lives from the ashes of this betrayal?

When we arrived, my mom opened the door.

“Lauren, what happened?” she asked, pulling me into a hug.

But the words stuck in my throat. I just shook my head as tears streamed down my face.

In the days that followed, everything became a blur of legal paperwork, school drop-offs, and explaining the unexplainable to my children.

The divorce was swift, leaving me with a settlement that barely felt like justice. We had to sell the house, and my share of the money went toward buying a smaller place.

I got us a modest two-bedroom home. A home where I wouldn’t have to worry about getting betrayed.

The hardest part wasn’t losing the house or the life I thought I’d have. It was watching Lily and Max come to terms with the fact that their father wasn’t coming back.

At first, Stan sent child support checks like clockwork, but that didn’t last.

By the six-month mark, the payments stopped altogether, and so did the phone calls. I told myself he was busy, or maybe he needed time to adjust.

But as weeks turned into months, it became clear that Stan wasn’t just gone from my life. He’d walked out on the kids too.

I later learned through mutual acquaintances that Miranda had played a significant role in this. She had convinced him that staying in touch with his “old life” was a distraction.

And Stan, ever eager to please her, had gone along with it. But when financial troubles began to creep in, he didn’t have the courage to face us.

It was heartbreaking, but I had no choice but to step up for Lily and Max. They deserved stability, even if their father couldn’t provide it.

Slowly, I began to rebuild—not just for them, but for myself.

Three years later, life had settled into a rhythm I cherished.

Lily was in high school now and Max had taken his love for robotics to the next level. Our little home was filled with laughter and warmth, and it showed how far we’d come.

Our past no longer haunted us.

At that point, I thought I’d never see Stan again, but fate had other plans.

It was a rainy afternoon when everything came full circle.

I had just finished grocery shopping and was juggling bags in one hand and my umbrella in the other when I noticed them. Stan and Miranda were seated at a shabby outdoor café across the street.

And it looked like time had not been kind to either of them.

Stan looked haggard. His once-tailored suits were replaced by a wrinkled shirt and a tie that hung awkwardly loose around his neck.

His hair was thinning, and the wrinkles on his face were proof of his exhaustion.

Miranda, still dressed in designer clothes, looked polished from afar, but up close, the details told another story. Her dress was faded, her once-luxurious handbag scuffed, and her heels worn down to the point of fraying.

Upon spotting them, I was unsure whether to laugh, cry, or keep walking.

But something kept me rooted to the spot. I guess it was curiosity.

As if sensing my presence, Stan’s eyes darted up and locked with mine. For a split second, his face lit up with hope.

“Lauren!” he called, scrambling to his feet and nearly knocking over his chair. “Wait!”

I hesitated but decided to approach, carefully setting my groceries down under the awning of a nearby storefront.

Meanwhile, Miranda’s expression soured the moment she saw me. Her eyes flickered away as if avoiding a confrontation she knew she couldn’t win.

“Lauren, I’m so sorry for everything,” Stan blurted, his voice cracking. “Please, can we talk? I need to see the kids. I need to make things right.”

“Make things right?” I asked. “You haven’t seen your kids in over two years, Stan. You stopped paying child support. What exactly do you think you can fix now?”

“I know, I know,” he began. “I messed up. Miranda and I…” He glanced at her nervously. “We made some bad decisions.”

“Oh, don’t blame this on me,” Miranda snapped, finally breaking her silence. “You’re the one who lost all that money on a ‘surefire’ investment.”

“You’re the one who convinced me it was a good idea!” Stan shot back at her.

Miranda rolled her eyes.

“Well, you’re the one who bought me this,” she said, gesturing to her scuffed designer bag, “instead of saving for rent.”

I could feel the tension between them. It felt like years of resentment were now bubbling to the surface.

For the first time, I saw them not as the glamorous couple who had destroyed my marriage, but as two broken people who had destroyed themselves.

Finally, Miranda stood, adjusting her faded dress with a look of disgust.

“I stayed because of the child we had together,” she said coldly, her words directed more at me than at Stan. “But don’t think for a second I’m sticking around now. You’re on your own, Stan.”

With that, she walked away, her heels clicking against the pavement, leaving Stan slumped in his chair. He watched her go and didn’t once stop her. Then, he turned back to me.

“Lauren, please. Let me come by. Let me talk to the kids. I miss them so much. I miss us.”

I stared at him for a long moment, searching his face for any trace of the man I had once loved. But all I saw was someone I barely recognized. A man who had traded everything for nothing.

I shook my head.

“Give me your number, Stan,” I said. “If the kids want to talk to you, they’ll call. But you’re not walking back into my house.”

He flinched at the finality in my tone but nodded, scribbling his number on a scrap of paper.

“Thank you, Lauren,” he said. “I-I’d be grateful if they call me.”

I tucked it into my pocket without looking at it and turned away.

As I walked back to my car, I felt a strange sense of closure. To be honest, it wasn’t revenge. But it was the realization that I didn’t need Stan to regret his choices for me to move on.

My kids and I had built a life full of love and resilience, and no one could take that away.

And for the first time in years, I smiled. Not because of Stan’s downfall, but because of how far we had come.

“Survivor” Season 47 frustrates viewers as one finalist repeatedly shows signs of naivety, sparking debates about this contestant’s gameplay and strategy.

“Survivor” Season 47’s two-part finale began with high-stakes drama as six contestants fought to secure a spot in the top four. The episode, titled “Bob and Weave,” aired Wednesday and quickly sparked debates among fans over the gameplay strategies of the remaining players.

The action kicked off with the first immunity challenge, where Genevieve Mushaluk claimed her first victory after tackling a water-based obstacle course and solving a puzzle.

Along with immunity, Mushaluk earned a meal reward and selected Sue Smey and Teeny Chirichillo to join her, hoping to solidify alliances while targeting Rachel LaMont, whom she perceived as the biggest threat.

LaMont, however, turned the tables. At the tribal council, she used a hidden immunity idol to protect herself and deployed a block-a-vote advantage to neutralize Sam Phalen’s vote. These moves blindsided Andy Rueda and sent him home as the first elimination of the night.

The remaining five players – Mushaluk, LaMont, Phalen, Smey, and Chirichillo — faced off in a second immunity challenge that tested their balance and focus. LaMont once again dominated, winning her third individual immunity of the season. With LaMont safe, the group debated whether to target Mushaluk or Phalen.

Cautious of Mushaluk possibly possessing an idol, the players split their votes. When no idol surfaced, the majority voted out Mushaluk sending her to the jury.

While gameplay kept tensions high, fan reactions online often focused on Chirichillo’s performance, particularly during tribal councils. “Why does Teeny think it’s a good idea to admit in front of the jury that she’s been so clueless lately??” a viewer questioned.

Other viewers expressed dissatisfaction with the overall cast. “This is hands down the worst season of survivor [sic] I’ve seen in a long time. In terms of the people who are left,” another commented. Another quipped, “can teeny and sue get voted off next 🙄 [sic].”

More viewers shared their reactions to Chirichillo’s gameplay, with many highlighting her lack of strategic awareness. Some felt she repeatedly fell for deceptive moves by other contestants and struggled to follow key plans. Others labeled her “clueless,” criticizing her inability to keep up with the game’s strategy.

Some also pointed out her emotional responses, suggesting her frustration stemmed from being outplayed by contestants like Rueda and Mushaluk in moments involving vote splits and fake idols.

There was also disappointment about the prospect of a final three featuring Smey, Phalen, and Chirichillo, which some felt would lack excitement compared to other outcomes. Despite the critiques, a few fans noted that the most likely winners were seen as likable and deserving.

Now, with the final four decided — LaMont, Phalen, Smey, and Chirichillo — the competition approaches its final stage. LaMont’s strong performance, marked by multiple immunity wins and strategic moves, positions her as a key contender.

The remaining players face the challenge of securing their own path to victory. The season concludes next week when the jury will vote to decide who claims the $1 million prize.

De la Torre battled a mysterious illness for months after revealing his diagnosis in June. He began receiving treatment later that month and stepped away from the spotlight to prioritize his health.

Sadly, he succumbed to the illness and was laid to rest on December, 6 in Montilla, Spain. The Netflix actor was loved by his colleagues and friends, who shared their tributes on social media.

Spanish actress Luisa Martín paid tribute to De la Torre by sharing a touching Instagram post featuring a photo of the actor smiling warmly. She wrote, “I don’t think about you in the past baby! No because I know you’ll keep organizing every dinner and every space. Fly as high as you know 💫 you are light, a very bright light ✨✨✨✨✨that will illuminate us all.”

Martin also expressed deep sorrow over his loss, vowing to keep his memory alive and cherishing the bond they shared.

Lolita Flores, a Spanish actress and singer, shared her condolences on Instagram, reflecting on the profound sadness surrounding De la Torre’s passing. She remarked on the brief moments they shared, expressing heartbreak over his untimely death and the pain felt by those who loved him deeply.

She penned, “How hard it is for me to accept that you are gone, without even knowing you. I met you in the play Salome.” Flores added, “I did not have time to love you, but I did have time to know you. Consoling your parents and your sister will be difficult, heaven awaits you with open arms, how sad, you have gone too soon, too soon.”

De la Torre, who was born in Montilla in 1987, was educated at the Higher School of Dramatic Art in Málaga. He starred in the Netflix series “Toy Boy,” which ran for two seasons from 2019 to 2021. The series was a hit, remaining on the top-watched list for weeks in several countries.

The actor also featured in “Amar es para siempre,” “Vis a Vis: El Oasis,” and “Servir y proteger.” Aside from acting, De la Torre modeled for various high-profile fashion, jewelry, and accessory brands.

De la Torre embarked on his acting journey with no prior experience in theater or film. “From a very small age, I found refuge in the cinema. But not so much in interpretation, at least at first. I was a child who kept watching movies, simply to entertain me and that caught me and sowed in me the seed that would later become the desire to want to dedicate myself to it,” he recalled.

The actor’s first-ever performance was during his entrance exams for the Higher School of Dramatic Art, where he confidently delivered lines from “Romeo and Juliet,” a moment that marked the start of a promising career.

De la Torre recalled, “I was the only one in my class who hadn’t been part of a company or hadn’t done a play before at school or high school. The first time I recited a text in front of an audience was for the entrance exams for the school, but I felt as if I had been doing it all my life … and it was wonderful.”

The lines from “Romeo and Juliet” also ignited his passion for performance and solidified his commitment to becoming an actor. Despite his lack of background, his natural talent and desire for acting set him on a trajectory that quickly elevated him in the industry.

De la Torre described his time at the Higher School of Dramatic Art as finding a place where he truly belonged. He expressed deep appreciation for the teachers at the school, crediting them with instilling in him a profound love and respect for the craft of acting.

De la Torre believed in giving one’s best, using every available resource to contribute meaningfully to every project.

The actor described the lengthy and challenging casting process he went through to secure the role of Iván in “Toy Boy.” He shared that the process spanned several tests over six months, with the first one leaving him unsure of what it was for.

He approached each test without expectations, allowing himself to flow with the scenes. It wasn’t until he learned he had been chosen that he shared the news, recalling the emotional moment when he hugged his grandmother and cried.

Over on Facebook, the compliments kept coming. “Handsome son,” one commenter wrote, followed by another adding, “So cute!!!”

Walker’s appearance with his father at the Critics Choice’s Celebration of Black Cinema and Television wasn’t just a proud family moment — it also tied into the event’s greater purpose of celebrating excellence in black entertainment. While Taye and Walker stole the spotlight on the red carpet, the evening was marked by historic achievements and heartfelt tributes that emphasized the importance of representation in media.

The Critics Choice Association, established in 2019, is the largest critics’ organization in the U.S. and Canada, with over 600 members from various media outlets. It honors accomplishments across film, television, and streaming, making its events a key platform for celebrating diversity and creativity in entertainment.

This year’s celebration, hosted by actor and comedian Jay Pharoah, brought together industry icons and rising stars alike. Pharoah, known for his hilarious impressions on “Saturday Night Live” and his comedy special “Jared,” kept the audience entertained while shining a spotlight on black excellence.

The night honored 14 individuals, including Tyler Perry, Regina King, and Steve McQueen, who have made significant contributions to the industry.

Amid this celebratory atmosphere, Walker and Taye’s presence was a subtle yet powerful reminder of the personal stories that intersect with these larger cultural milestones.

Taye, 53, has frequently shared glimpses of his special bond with Walker, often through humorous and heartfelt reflections. In a November 2024 interview, the “All American” star opened up about how much he cherishes the time spent with his son.

“I try not to show him how excited I am just when he says three words to me, but it can be difficult,” he admitted, adding, “It’s very humbling because I feel like a 12-year-old girl that’s out with a senior boy. Anything I say could ruin the date.”

Despite the humorous comparison, Taye described his interactions with Walker as “really, really fun and eye-opening,” highlighting the joy he finds in parenting a teenager.

This playful and devoted side of Taye also shone through in a June 2024 Instagram post, where the actor shared a candid photo of himself fixing Walker’s hair. Captioned simply, “Fathers……..you already know. 🙏🏾,” the post resonated with fans, who praised the doting dad for his hands-on parenting approach.

The father-son duo’s appearance came shortly after Walker was seen supporting his mom at the premiere of her film “Wicked” on November 9. While Idina Menzel is no stranger to the spotlight, it was Walker who stole the show.

Making a rare public appearance, the mother-son duo posed side by side for photographers, sharing a warm moment on the green carpet. Fans quickly noticed how much Walker looked like his father, Taye Diggs, and the buzz spread across social media.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) exclaimed“Sometimes you forget her and Taye were a thing until he pop out😭 [sic],” while another remarked“Wow his pretty Handsome, Idina and Taye must be so proud. [sic]”

Another fan simply expressed their surprise at how grown-up Walker looks, “Oh he’s so grown up now 😭😭,” while one wrote, “What a cutie.”

On Instagram, the buzz continued, with remarks like, “That boy has tayes whole smile [sic],” and “Perfect mix of both parents. Handsome young man!” One comment read“Daddy’s twin❤️,” capturing the general sentiment.

Meanwhile, Facebook users joined in, posting reactions such as, “Wow the son looks so much like Taye,” and “He’s got his dad’s smile, that’s for sure!” Another fan remarked, “Spitting image of his dad.”

Walker’s father, Taye, is a talented singer and actor, best known for his roles in “Rent” and “Chicago.” He often speaks proudly about his son, praising the teenager’s many talents.

“He’s a fierce athlete and he’s beaten up on me a lot,” Taye joked in a past interview. “So I gotta stay in shape just to keep up with him.” The actor has also shared that Walker excels not only in sports but in the performing arts as well.

“He can act. He can sing. He can dance,” Taye added. “He’s teaching me how to be a better adult.” The proud father didn’t hesitate to speculate about his son’s future, hinting at the potential for his son to follow in his and Idina’s footsteps.

“Athletes are entertainers, so probably both,” the “Private Practice” alum mused. Taye first met Idina in 1995 while co-starring in the Broadway production of “Rent.” The couple’s onstage chemistry quickly evolved into a real-life romance, leading to their marriage in 2003.

Fans in shock over Gordon Ramsay's 'shady' reaction to Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco engagement news

The celebrity chef responded to the couple’s news after he worked with Gomez on a cooking show

Chef Gordon Ramsey has successfully caused a stir and cooked up some gossip with his reaction to the news that Selena Gomez is engaged to producer and actor Benny Blanco.

Gomez, 32, took to Instagram to share the exciting news of her engagement in the early hours of this morning (December 12), posting a series of pictures showing off her diamond ring and grinning with Blanco, 36.

The news comes a year after the couple went public with their relationship in December 2023, and in the caption of her engagement post, the Only Murders in the Building star wrote: “forever begins now..”

The post was quickly flooded with millions of likes and comments, with Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston among those celebrating the news.

Swift, who is known to be a close friend of Gomez’s, jokingly made the assumption that she’d be involved in the wedding party, writing: “yes I will be the flower girl.”

Meanwhile, Aniston added: “HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!”

However, among the congratulatory messages came one from Ramsay, who previously appeared alongside Gomez on one of her TV shows.

The comment quickly caught people’s attention, and raised a few eyebrows.

In response to her post, Ramsay wrote: “Congratulations to you both it must be the cooking [love heart emojis].”

Considering an engagement isn’t typically the time to throw ‘shade’, it’s likely that the Kitchen Nightmares star was just joking with his comment.

However, that hasn’t stopped people from commenting on his response, suggesting he was implying that Blanco wasn’t good looking enough for Gomez.

“Gordon Ramsay shady af he said it’s not the face so it must be the food,” one person wrote as they shared his response on Twitter.

Another wrote: “Ouch, that’s a burn from the king of burns.”

Ramsay didn’t actually specify who he was referring to with his comment, but both Gomez and Blanco have shown their love for food and cooking over the years.

In 2020, Gomez launched a cooking show titled Selena + Chef, in which she brushed up on her cooking skills while working alongside master chefs – including Ramsay.

The comment could easily have been a reference to the time Ramsay and Gomez spent together for the show, with the Hell’s Kitchen star joking that his work helping Gomez to refine her skills could have been what convinced Blanco to propose.

That being said, Blanco is also known for his love of food, and has previously shared cooking videos on YouTube as well as releasing a cookbook called Open Wide, meaning Ramsay could just have easily have been referring to his cooking skills.

But whatever Ramsay meant by his comment, there’s no denying it’s resulted in some tea!

Luigi Mangione’s attorney shows how much evidence the FBI has following murder charge

The suspected shooter’s attorney has gained plaudits online for comically responding to reporters questions during a press conference

Following Luigi Mangione being arrested and charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, his attorney has now spoken out.

At 9.15am on Monday (December 9), the 26-year-old was taken into custody in connection to the 50-year-old’s death five days earlier (December 4).

The father-of-two was walking to an insurance conference in New York City when he was gunned down in the streets outside of the Hilton Hotel, in Manhattan, with the suspect believed to have been ‘lying in wait’ for up to five minutes beforehand.

Thompson was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in a critical condition but was later pronounced dead upon arrival.

The suspect is believed to have cycled away on an electric bike into Central Park, where a bag was discarded with Monopoly money inside it as well as a jacket.

Cops finally caught up with the suspect as Mangione was sitting at a table in the rear of a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, wearing a blue medical mask and looking at a laptop, documents state.

In his possession Mangione, whose last known residency is Honolulu, Hawaii, had a gun believed to be the one used in last Wednesday’s shooting of Thompson, as well as writings suggesting anger with corporate America, police claim.

On Tuesday (December 10), the computer science graduate – who is understood to have come from a wealthy family in a Maryland community, and was raised in Towson, outside of Baltimore – entered a plea of not guilty.

On the same day, his defense attorney Tom Dickey, of Pennsylvania, spoke to the press on behalf of his client. Take a look:

“If the government charges a person with a crime they have to prove that, and they have to have some evidence,” he explained before appearing to make jest of the amount of evidence the FBI has on his client.

Looking around on the table in front of him he then begins to pretend to show ‘all the evidence’ authorities have that Mangione murdered Thompson, by opening up his palms to show that there is nothing.

“Here’s all the evidence I have right here, zoom in, zoom in – I suppose you want to? Nothing. I’ve seen nothing, I have nothing.”

He was then asked by a reporter ‘what charges is he pleading not guilty to’, to which he sharply responds: “Every charge… every charge.”

It seems that his personality was enough to gain him plaudits online. Taking to the comment section on YouTube, one person wrote: “I like this attorney. He is a common sense, no nonsense attorney with a good sense of humor. Reminds of a mob boss attorney.

“I hope he can help this young man. He is correct that the NYPD has got to prove that he is the same guy that shot the CEO.”

While another added: “This attorney comes across as respectful, direct and to the point, confident in his legal knowledge and experience and relatable to a jury.”

The President-elect beat the likes of Kate Middleton and Elon Musk to achieving the prestigious accolade

Donald Trump has been named as Time Magazine’s Person of The Year.

The achievement marks the second time the President-elect has received the prestigious title from the magazine, with the business mogul being crowned as its Person of The Year in 2016 as well.

Time Magazine recently shared its shortlist, with the likes of Elon Musk, Kate Middleton and Joe Rogan making the cut, but Trump has proven victorious once more – his second huge success of late following last month’s election win.

Kamala Harris, Yulia Navalnaya, Benjamin Netanyahu, Jerome Powell, Claudia Sheinbaum, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg were also shortlisted.

“Trump’s political rebirth is unparalleled in American history,” Time said of its 2024 winner. “His first term ended in disgrace, with his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results culminating in the attack on the U.S. Capitol.”

It continued: “He was shunned by most party officials when he announced his candidacy in late 2022 amid multiple criminal investigations. Little more than a year later, Trump cleared the Republican field, clinching one of the fastest contested presidential primaries in history.”

The news of the 78-year-old being named as Person of The Year has left people divided.

One person penned on Time’s Instagram announcement: “That’s really the best you’ve got?”

“This is the biggest joke history has ever seen,” added a second.

Others had more positive things to say about Trump, however.

“He’s an inspiration!!!! Wait for the next four years America is back,” wrote one social media user.

Applauding Time on its choice, someone else penned: “Congratulations @realdonaldtrump. So well deserved.”

DWTS’ Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy Line Up Mirrorball Trophies for Photo With Son Rome!

Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy are soaking up their Dancing With the Stars wins, along with son Rome.

DWTS' Jenna and Val Line Up Their Collective Mirrorball Trophies for Family Photo With Son Rome:

“Rome’s raw emotions seeing another Len Goodman Mirrorball come home!” Johnson, 30, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 30, alongside snaps of the 22-month-old sitting beside their trophies. In one image, Rome smiled, while in another, he seemingly gasped.

In the final slide of the carousel, Johnson and Chmerkovskiy, 38, were all smiles as they posed with Rome and the five awards. (Johnson won in season 26 with Adam Rippon and season 33 with Joey Graziadei, while Chmerkovskiy took home the trophy in season 20 with Rumer Willis, season 23 with Laurie Hernandez and season 32 with Xochitl Gomez.)

“I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence (although I don’t ever believe things are just a coincidence) but Mr. Len Goodman has been celebrated and honored heavily at our house this past year,” Johnson wrote, referring to the late DWTS judge, who died last year. “Two mirrorballs and an EMMY nomination in his honor has made me really feel his lasting impact and for that I’m beyond grateful. ✨🕊️.”

Graziadei, 29, took to the comment section of the post to gush over his DWTS partner’s son. “Breaking the internet with the cutest kid EVER,” he wrote. Chmerkovskiy’s brother, Maks, who was a pro on DWTS, added, “Rome is the cutest!”

Johnson and Chmerkovskiy, who tied the knot in 2019, added one more trophy to their collection after she took home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with Graziadei last month. The award was passed down from Chmerkovskiy, who had received the trophy the previous season.

“[I felt] just so much sheer love and joy. That was a really special moment that I don’t think has ever, ever, ever happened before,” Johnson told Us of Chmerkovskiy. “So many people told me that they have videos of him freaking out and I can’t wait to see them. He’s been my No. 1 supporter through this. He’s been mommy and daddy for us right now while I’ve been getting ready for this finale. So I’m just so grateful for him.”

While Johnson said her trophy will “probably [go] right next to Val’s,” Graziadei wanted to display the award in his new Los Angeles home with fiancée Kelsey Anderson. He added, “We just got a new apartment, so it’s our first little centerpiece that we have, so it’ll be somewhere.”

How to Grow Purple Corn in Recycled Buckets: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Grow Purple Corn in Recycled Buckets: A Step-by-Step Guide

Growing purple corn in recycled buckets is an eco-friendly and creative way to enjoy a unique and nutritious crop, even in small spaces. Whether you’re gardening on a balcony or in a compact backyard, this simple method allows you to cultivate vibrant purple corn with ease. Follow this guide to turn your recycled buckets into a flourishing mini-garden.

Step 1: Germinate the Seeds

Start by choosing high-quality purple corn seeds to ensure successful germination and healthy plants. Prepare a seedling tray or small container with organic, well-draining compost. Plant the seeds about two inches apart, cover them lightly with soil, and keep the soil moist without waterlogging. Place the container in a warm, sunny spot or use a seedling heat mat for consistent warmth. Be patient, as germination may take one to two weeks.

Step 2: Prepare the Buckets

Choose recycled buckets and drill small holes at the bottom for proper drainage, which prevents water from accumulating and damaging the roots. Fill each bucket with nutrient-rich, loamy soil, leaving about two inches of space at the top to accommodate the plants.

Step 3: Transplant the Seedlings

When the seedlings are ready, carefully remove them from the tray to avoid damaging their delicate roots. Place each seedling in the bucket, ensuring the roots are fully covered and the stems are upright. Space the seedlings 9-12 inches apart within each bucket to allow room for growth.

Step 4: Watering and Fertilizing

Keep the soil consistently moist by watering regularly, but be careful not to overwater, which can lead to root rot. Feed the plants with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to provide the nutrients they need to thrive. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.

Step 5: Ongoing Care

Regularly prune any dead or yellowing leaves to promote healthy air circulation around the plants. Purple corn can grow tall, so use stakes or trellises to support the plants as they develop. Inspect the plants frequently for pests, such as aphids or caterpillars, and address any issues using natural remedies or suitable treatments. The corn will typically be ready to harvest in 2-3 months. Look for kernels that are fully formed and display a deep purple color before harvesting.

Benefits of Growing Purple Corn in Buckets

Growing purple corn in recycled buckets not only reduces waste but also allows you to grow fresh produce in limited spaces. This method is an excellent way to enjoy the striking color, unique flavor, and health benefits of purple corn while minimizing your environmental impact. With its vibrant appearance and versatility in recipes, purple corn makes a stunning and rewarding addition to any garden.

Embrace this sustainable gardening method and transform your balcony or backyard into a thriving haven of homegrown purple corn. Share this guide with friends and inspire them to experience the joy of growing their own vibrant crops. Happy gardening! 🌽💜

Doctor develops 'lifesaver' sandwich that is scientifically proven to help any hangover

Doctor develops 'lifesaver' sandwich that is scientifically proven to help any hangover

Well, if science says it’s ok…

A good quality sandwich can often be the cure for many of life’s ills, but what about when it comes to the hangover from hell?

Well, one London-based doctor and television personality has created the perfect scientifically-proven sandwich that she claims is the antidote – and can sort you out almost immediately.

Dr Zoe Williams told MailOnline the key components of the breakfast stack combine the nutrients you will have lost through alcohol consumption – like salt, sugar and protein.

The NHS GP said the next-day nausea is mostly caused by low-blood sugar levels, which trigger the hormones that make us feel sick.

That and the liver is working in overdrive, becoming less effective at regulating sugars because it’s prioritising expelling the toxins from the body.

Even when it feels like your stomach is churning, Dr Zoe said it’s vital to eat something.

But what should you grab when the hangover starts to feel like you’ll never drink again?

Well, start with…

The right bread

Dr Zoe’s butty is built with a foundation of good bread – usually half wholemeal and half white, also known as ‘half and half’.

While wholemeal bread is generally healthier, the GP said there is a risk the added grains in some types come with a strong flavour – which only adds to the queasy feeling – while bland white is easier to digest.

Dr Zoe said: “With a half and half bread you still get protein and the fibre, which offers a combination of both immediate energy and the slow-releasing type.”

Next up, protein

Surprisingly, Dr Zoe grabs the seemingly unhealthy combo of bacon, egg and avocado for her hangover butty.

However, she said there is a science to it as, while processed meat like bacon has been linked to increased risk of bowl cancer if consumed everyday, tucking into a rasher or two on occasion is unlikely to cause much harm – and could be a ‘lifesaver’ for the hangover.

As alcohol is a diuretic, which means it increases the amount of urine your body produces and causes you to lose essential fluid and electrolytes, the body is crying out for its lost sodium. Bacon is the key to replenishing those sacred salts you lost during your boozy night.

The doc said bacon can even help cure a ‘foggy brain’ the next day, and some say even just the smell can ‘technically start to help the brain recuperate’.

Get in those vitamins

Eggs, no matter how you like them, are jam-packed full of nutrients and are crowned the ‘hero’ of Dr Zoe’s butty.

They contain B12 protein, which our bodies may be deficient in after a hangover, as booze can zap our stomach linings and intestines, making it harder for the body to absorb the protein.

Eggs are also loaded with protein, vitamins A and D, and an amino acid called cysteine, which helps to break down the toxic byproduct of alcohol, acetaldehyde.

Healthy fats

Finally, the avocado on Dr Zoe’s hangover sandwich promises to give a well-needed boost in healthy fats, as well as vitamins, minerals and potassium not only restoring electrolytes, but also giving you energy to face the rest of the day.

What should you wash it down with?

To wash it all down, the doc says a glass of water is the best route, but a hot cup of tea can also come to the rescue.

She explained: “Some people assume you should not have caffeinated drinks because it can be dehydrating, but while water is more dehydrating than tea, you still benefit from the fluids.”
