Whether it be the ever popular ‘Spotify Wrapped’ or another company’s equivalent of it, everyone loves a good wrap up of the year.

And that includes the adult film industry, with Pornhub even joining in with the fun.

The porn site’s year in review has revealed a major difference in top categories searched by Gen Z and Boomers.

Who uses Pornhub the most?

When it comes to visitor demographics, the average Pornhub user in 2024 was 38 years old, a year up from the 37 average age last year.

Statisticians broke down these categories in age groups even further, where they found similar trends to last year.

The press release by Pornhub explained: “The 18-24 age group made up the biggest portion of traffic, with 27% of all traffic falling into that category. Following closely behind was the 25-34 age group, which accounted for 24% of all traffic.

“Together, the 18 to 35 group makes up over half of Pornhub’s visitors, even after giving up -2 percentage points in 2024 to the over 35 crowd.”

What are they searching?

The Pornhub year in review provided an insight into what categories each generation are searching for, and it certainly suggests that Gen Z have extremely different tastes compared to other generations.

“Our statisticians investigated the percentage difference in popularity compared to all the other age groups,” the press release states.

The research found Gen Z, aka the 18-24 age group, are 392 percent more likely to view ‘vertical videos’, while they also have a particular interest in ‘hentai’.

As for boomers (55+), they’re said to be more interested ‘strap on’, ‘gangbang’ and ‘double penetration’.

Gen Y (25-34) are searching for the likes of ‘FMM’, ‘tattooed woman’ and ‘parody’ amongst some of their popular searches.

Meanwhile, Gen X (35-54) are largely into the ‘role play’, ‘feet’ and ‘compilation’, according to data gathered by Pornhub.

Speaking about Gen Z further and their general search methods on Pornhub, the press release added: “It is a fascinating point our statisticians discovered that Gen Z’s interests were higher around non-porn style porn than actual porn. For example, Music, SFW (safe for work), and Gaming all appear in their top relative categories. It seems they are looking to get more from their experience on Pornhub than watching purely sex videos. It’s almost like Gen Z is watching Pornhub for the podcasts, like Boomers read Playboy for the articles.”

Why take an eight-hour flight when you can take a 54-minute train to get you from the UK’s capital city to the most populous city in the United States?

The idea of a 3,400-mile Transatlantic Tunnel being built under the ocean may make you feel slightly queasy but it’s also very appealing – even if it would cost an estimated $19.8 trillion – but Elon Musk has something to say about it.

While no company has officially come forward with a laid out plan for the tunnel connecting The Big Apple and The Big Smoke, the possibility of it has been spoken about widely online.

The tunnel would stretch across 3,400 miles and reduce the time to get between the two cities to under an hour. However, it’s expected to take decades to complete.

Oh, and the expected cost would be immense – estimates coming in at $19.8 trillion.

Although, potentially not if Musk has anything to do with it.

Elon Musk’s alternative suggestion

Well, not Musk specifically but another company who he’s suggested may be up for the job

The Tesla CEO took to Twitter on December 10 to respond to a report about the proposed tunnel.

He wrote: “The @boringcompany could do it for 1000X less money.”

But what is The Boring Company and what’s it got to do with tunnel plans?

The Boring Company

According to its website, The Boring Company ‘constructs safe, fast-to-dig, and low-cost transportation, utility, and freight tunnels’ – so it clearly knows a thing or two on the topic and it already has several tunnels under it’s belt as well.

It’s projects include the LVCC Loop, Resorts World Connector, Vegas Loop, R&D Tunnel and Hyperloop with several already having been successfully constructed.

One successful construction is the LVCC Loop, The Boring Company detailing: “The LVCC Loop system – a three-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnel – was built in approximately one year (using the now-legacy Godot Tunnel Boring Machine).”

The project reportedly cost around $47 million for the ‘two tunnels and three stations’ and construction even managed to avoid any road closures or ‘attendee disturbances’.

At around 7.45am on September 10, two fishermen reported a dead body in the Little Tennessee River, adjacent to the Macon County Greenway, in North Carolina, US.

The body was later determined to be female and was pulled from the water.

Now, the fisherman’s harrowing find and his subsequent calls for help have gone viral in a video posted on social media. Warning – Distressing footage:

The footage shows the man, Mark Wilkins, coasting the lake and saying his ‘buddy’ off camera that he suspects he’s seen a ‘human being’ in the water.

He then realizes what he’s seen and could be heard repeating: ‘Oh my god, a dead body’, before making the call to the police.

On the phone to the 911 operator, he explains the pair had headed off the boat ramp and were going down towards the water station discharge and the dam when he spotted a ‘hand’ sticking up, and what he described as a decomposing body.

When asked if he was still in the water, he replied: ‘Yeah, I’m sitting here looking at it’, though he wasn’t sure if it was a Halloween prop or a prank. However, Mark’s fishing ‘buddy’, John, also said he thought it looked ‘like a person’ and ‘a girl’.

Mark then said a prayer: “Dear lord, please rest that person’s soul.”

The fisherman said their day had ‘started normal’ but became suspicious of something in the water after noticing a ‘weird oil slick’.

The man explained he later uploaded the footage to YouTube for ‘educational purposes’ and sent his prayers to the family of the deceased woman.

The Franklin Police Department said an investigation was launched in September and is still in the preliminary stages, Fox Carolina reported. Officials have said they don’t know the woman’s name, cause of death or any other details.

The force has been contacted for an update on the situation.

Relatives of the 31-year-old released a statement explaining she had been in contact with them on Wednesday (11 December) after weeks of them searching.

Kobayashi seemingly vanished after travelling from her home in Maui, Hawaii to Los Angeles on 8 November before missing her connecting flight to New York City.

Despite several sightings of her, Kobayashi’s loved ones were unable to track her down.

The family were then dealt another devastating blow amid the hunt for the photographer, as her father Ryan Kobayashi was found dead in LA after he’d flown over to help look for her.

Last week, the Los Angeles Police Department shared an update on the case and announced that Kobayashi had crossed the US/Mexico border on 12 November.

The force believed that she had ‘expressed a desire to step away from modem connectivity’ and that ‘speculation about potential involvement in human trafficking or foul play’ was false.

Cops also said they found that although Kobayashi’s luggage was checked onto the flight to New York, she later asked for it returned to her at LAX.

Surveillance footage showed her collecting her bag on 11 November before heading to Union Station and purchasing a bus ticket.

Following that, she made her way to San Ysidro, California, before crossing the border into Mexico on foot.

However, Kobayashi’s family still remained concerned about her safety and whereabouts.

But her relatives have now revealed that the 31-year-old has ‘been found safe’ and that they have been in touch with her.

The family’s lawyer, Sara Azari, shared the statement on their behalf in a post on X yesterday (11 December).

The statement read: “We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah has been found safe. This past month has been an unimaginable ordeal for our family, and we kindly ask for privacy as we take the time to heal and process everything we have been through.

“We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us during this difficult time.

“Your kindness and concern have meant the world to us.”

It came after police urged Kobayashi to contact her family to put their minds at ease.

Following the announcement that she was considered a ‘voluntary missing person’, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said: “She has a right to her privacy, and we respect her choices, but we also understand the concern loved ones feel for her.

“A simple message could reassure those she cares about.”
