The Libertines singer said a doctor had warned him he was at risk

Pete Doherty told some of his fans that he’s having to take precautions after a doctor warned him that he could need to have part of his body amputated.

According to The Sun, Doherty was speaking to fans in Germany and explained why he was performing from a chair during Libertines performances.

They report that he said: “I saw the doctor today and he said you need to stay off your feet as much as you can otherwise you’ll lose your toes.”

He has also been spotted using a walking stick while out and about, while Libertines bandmate Carl Barât was spotted helping him leave the stage during a recent concert.

Last year Doherty told The Guardian he’d been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was struggling to ‘tackle cholesterol’.

“I gave up the main poisons and my health improved,” Doherty said last year of his health prospects and the difficulties about changing his ways.

“Then you get told alcohol and cheese and sugar are just as bad and you were healthier when you were on heroin.

“It’s not a joke, I’ve been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. And at the moment I’m lacking the discipline to tackle cholesterol.”

His bandmate Barât was in the same interview and said it was ‘gluttony’, which Doherty accepted as he said he was ‘a bit of a glutton’.

Back in 2023, the musician said he could feel ‘death is lurking’ after many years of drug and alcohol abuse.

Studies indicate that drug use can increase a person’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes through the impact they have on a person’s blood sugar and the way it affects their diet and movement.

A loss of extremities from diabetes is a risk as it can affect blood flow in your body.

In 2022, Doherty told The Mirror that his drug use had also put him at risk of losing his feet ‘just because of the injecting.

“I was really pushing the limits. There were a few close calls really,” he said of his past drug use.

“I nearly lost my feet and horrible things like that.

“It was very close, just because of the injecting. That’s what happens when you run out of veins. It all seems so long ago now though but it was a hell of a ride.”

The musician has spoken a lot about his health in recent years, having told Louis Theroux he was a ‘very sick man’ and expressed concern that he might not live long enough to see his daughter grow up.

A$AP Rocky shouts poignant message to jury after leaping towards Rihanna following verdict during trial

The rapper was found not guilty in a high stakes trial

The musician A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, had a message for the jury after they delivered a verdict of ‘not guilty’ at his trial.

As the result was read out, he leapt towards his girlfriend Rihanna, though it may be more accurate to say that he collapsed with relief in her general direction.

It was clearly an emotional moment for him, having stared down the barrel of a ‘significant jail sentence’ after rejecting a plea deal where a judge had told him he would receive no ‘special treatment’ should he go ahead with the trial.

A$AP Rocky had been on trial over allegations of firing a handgun at former friend A$AP Relli, real name Terell Ephron, in 2021. He was arrested for it in April 2022, but the jury cleared him of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The plea deal would have meant he spent just six months in prison along with probation and a list of other conditions including community service, a suspended sentence and a year-long anger management course if he pleaded guilty to one of the counts.

Had he been found guilty, he could have been sentenced to spend up to 24 years in prison, but the musician insisted on his innocence as he said he would ‘respectfully decline’ the plea deal.

The jury felt there was reasonable doubt of his guilt and delivered their verdict of ‘not guilty’, which prompted a hugely relieved reaction from A$AP Rocky.

Embracing Rihanna after the verdict was read out, the musician told the jury ‘thank y’all for saving my life’ as he left the courtroom.

Prosecutors claimed at the trial that in Hollywood on 6 November, 2021, the two men met and Rocky pulled a gun, firing two shots at Relli who claimed that one of the shots grazed his knuckles.

Rocky’s lawyers said the weapon had been a prop gun that only fired blanks which he fired as a warning because Relli had been attacking someone.

The jury was told that the gun being a fake was not mentioned to authorities for three years, and it was only brought up the day that jury selection began.

Jurors were also informed that they could find A$AP Rocky not guilty if they believed that he or either of the two friends that had gone along with him to the encounter with A$AP Relli were in imminent danger of injury and that reasonable force was used.

As mentioned, the verdict was not guilty, and A$AP Rocky walked out of the courthouse a free man instead of facing a very long prison sentence.

Speaking outside the court, he said: “This whole experience has been crazy for the past 4 years, I’m thankful and it’s blessed to be here right now to be a free man talking to y’all.”

Rihanna posted her own reaction online, writing: “The glory belongs to God and to God alone. Thankful, humbled by His mercy.”

Donald Trump’s Second Wife Opted for a Rural Life to Raise Their Daughter – See Her Now in Her 60s

She grew up in a small town, the daughter of a homemaker and a father who once worked as an Elvis impersonator. Drawn to faith and spirituality, she had big dreams beyond her rural upbringing. Her pursuit of those dreams eventually brought her to New York, where she set out to build a career in entertainment.

While in New York, she participated in beauty pageants and pursued work in the entertainment industry. Though she had ambitions, she was still finding her footing in the city. During this time, she met Donald Trump, a businessman already making headlines.

A Publicized Romance and a High-Profile Marriage

She met Donald on Madison Avenue, around the time his marriage to Ivana Trump was unraveling. Their relationship became a media spectacle, with tabloids fixating on the differences between her and Ivana.

In 1993, she gave birth to her and Donald’s daughter, Tiffany. At the time, Donald was facing pressure from his conservative parents over having a child out of wedlock. He was also preparing to take his struggling casinos public, and his personal life had become a liability.

His highly publicized relationship with Tiffany’s mother had already drawn negative attention, and marrying her was seen as a way to calm investors.

Soon after Tiffany’s birth, he proposed, and they married that December in a lavish ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. But their marriage came with strict legal conditions—ones that would shape the terms of their divorce just a few years later.

A Strict Prenuptial Agreement and a Short-Lived Marriage

Before their wedding in December 1993, Donald had a prenuptial agreement drawn up to protect his financial interests. She reportedly sought a $25 million settlement, but the final agreement granted her only $1 million if they separated within five years, plus another $1 million to purchase a home.

She also forfeited any claim to Donald’s future earnings or inheritances. The agreement also placed limits on child support for their daughter, Tiffany Trump. Donald agreed to pay $100,000 per year, but those payments would end if Tiffany took a full-time job, enlisted in the military, or joined the Peace Corps before turning 21.

Additionally, she was bound by a strict confidentiality clause, preventing her from publishing any memoirs or interviews about their marriage. The document stated that if she ever violated the terms, Donald would suffer “irreparable damage.”

She reportedly planned to challenge the prenuptial agreement after five years, but the marriage didn’t last that long. After nearly four years, they separated, finalizing their divorce in 1999. But unlike Ivana, who remained in the public eye, she took a different path after their split.

Life After Divorce: Rejecting Extravagance

When her marriage to Donald ended in 1999, she moved on without the financial security many assumed she had. She did not receive a large settlement despite being married to him for nearly six years. In a 2016 interview, she addressed the public’s misconceptions, saying, “I wasn’t there for the glamorous life or the riches.”

She lived in a 740-square-foot apartment and focused on building a life outside Donald’s influence. Addressing rumors that she was being paid to stay silent, she stated, “People say, ‘He pays her not to talk about him?’ — that’s not true.”

She also distanced herself from the luxury that had surrounded her during her marriage. Dressing in designer gowns and attending lavish events felt like playing a role.

“To me, it’s never about how much money you have. It’s about how you’re connecting with each other, supporting each other,” she admitted. Instead, she focused on what mattered most to her.

Raising Tiffany Trump Away from the Spotlight

After her divorce, she made a conscious decision to raise her daughter, Tiffany, in a quiet and structured environment. Wanting to give her the kind of upbringing she had in Georgia, she prioritized home-cooked meals, simple routines, and quality time together.

“That was my choice, raising her outside of the spotlight,” she said in 2016. Although Donald provided financial support, he was not involved in the daily aspects of parenting, and she considered herself a single mother to their daughter.

“Her daddy is a good provider with education and such, but as far as time, it was just me,” she revealed. She recalled making the effort to bring Tiffany to New York a few times a year so she could spend time with her father.

“I just said it’s important for her to form her own relationship with him, without my input. I wanted to create some consistency where she could see him,” she explained. “We were always together,” a grown Tiffany added, acknowledging the close bond she shared with her mother, Marla Maples.

Now 61, Marla has built a life centered on health, spirituality, and personal growth. She has remained committed to wellness, often sharing insights on mindful living through her website and social media.

Describing herself as “a passionate advocate for mental, spiritual, and physical wellness,” she promotes holistic approaches to maintaining a balanced life. Marla has embraced aging naturally, drawing admiration from fans.

Photos of her online often spark praise, with one commenter writing, “Such a natural beauty. 💕💕” Another added, “I love your natural look without filters.” A third admirer wrote simply, “You look amazing.”

Though she rarely seeks public attention, fans continue to admire her natural beauty and the life she has built away from fame. Decades after leaving the spotlight, Marla remains true to the values that led her there in the first place.

As for her beloved child Tiffany, her father Donald was with her on her big day. He fulfilled the role of a father – by walking her down the aisle, participating in the father-and-daughter dance, and supplementing the day with his words of love.

Donald’s youngest daughter tied the knot two years ago, and the proud father walked the bride down the aisle. He shared loving words about his newly wedded son-in-law.

Tiffany, the fourth of Donald’s children, married Michael Boulos on November 12, 2022. The internet personality and the billionaire wed in an extravagant wedding held at the father of the bride’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

The businessman walked his youngest daughter – who dazzled in an Elie Saab gown – down the aisle. The garment had long sleeves, a silhouette, and detailed beading.

The mother of the bride donned an Elie Saab dress which was lavender in color and one-shouldered. Meanwhile, her former husband, now married to Melania Trump, wore a tux.

Tiffany and Boulos – who is an heir to a billion-dollar family business, wed in front of friends and family under a gazebo decorated with white, blue, and pink flowers. The couple kept to their theme as the bridesmaids’ blue gowns matched the decor.

For the wedding reception, guests indulged in finger foods and had cocktails during sunset. In the evening, they made their way inside Mar-a-Lago for the main event.

The newly wedded couple reportedly hired a 10-member band and dancers who entertained their loved ones in performances depicting loofahs.

The guests were seated behind tables covered in tall crystal candelabras and lush floral arrangements and had their dinner options listed in an ornate mirrored menu.

Boulos and Tiffany crossed paths in 2018. He was a college student at the time, and she was on a European holiday trip. Boulos proposed at the official residence in early 2021.

Donald Makes an Emotional Speech to His Son-In-Law

Donald gave a toast on their big day and shared heartwarming words. The former U.S. President said Boulos was unique and wise for someone his age.

The father of five complimented the couple saying they were two extraordinary individuals and that their wedding day was marvelous while urging his new son-in-law to look after his daughter, “Michael, you better take care of her.”

Donald took to the dance floor with Tiffany for their father-and-daughter dance while the “Here Comes the Sun” tune played in the background.

Video footage obtained by Page Six showed the duo at the reception dancing together as the proud father shared a moment with his daughter.

Tiffany’s Wedding Almost Broke in a Couple of Days

While the night was a success, it almost became a blunder because of a natural disaster. Merely days leading to the wedding, Tiffany was reportedly “flipping out” as her “welcome dinner” was ruined because of Hurricane Nicole.

A source revealed to Page Six that they had to send “staff home” due to the unfortunate incident and that she remained behind at her dad’s abode.

The insider continued to explain at the time that guests had made their way to the wedding location and that the couple had “planned” some “over-the-top” events but sadly had to “cancel” because of the storm.

Those who intended to fly down to Florida for the nuptials were affected because Hurricane Nicole massively struck the state leading to the shutdown of Palm Beach International Airport.

An insider had previously disclosed that Tiffany and her billionaire partner looked forward to having 500 wedding guests on their special day. At the time, it remained unclear how many of them had to change their reservations due to the tropical cyclone.

A source divulged that the bride-to-be had anticipated an enormous ceremony, adding that because she and Boulos come from affluent families, they wanted their beloved friends “from around the world” to celebrate their love.

Still, the couple received their marriage license on November 8, 2022, before the Palm Beach County Courthouse had to shut down for the remainder of the week because of the storm. Despite the bad weather conditions, Tiffany celebrated her bridal shower the week before alongside her sisters and close pals.

Inside Donald and Melania Trump’s Committed Marriage Despite Their Age Gap

Melania and Donald Trump’s marriage has been a subject of fascination for decades. From their first encounter in 1998 to Melania’s role as First Lady and their return to Mar-a-Lago, take a look at the couple’s love story.

Donald and Melania Trump first met in September 1998 at a Fashion Week party in New York. In her memoir, Melania recalled receiving a call from a friend inviting her to the Kit Kat Klub.

“On a Friday night in September 1998, as I settled into the comfort of my New York City apartment after a whirlwind trip to Paris, my phone rang. It was a friend of mine,” the former model recalled.

“My boyfriend is throwing a party at the Kit Kat Klub tomorrow night. Please come. We haven’t seen each other in so long,” Melania’s friend said. “I just got back from Paris,” she replied.

Melania initially dismissed the invitation, preferring quiet nights over clubbing, but ultimately changed her mind.

“While I was tired and jet-lagged, I loved the idea that my weekend was about to be filled with the company of friends. […] After all, it was Fashion Week—a time of glamour and sophistication. I was actually looking forward to mingling with industry insiders and trendsetters,” she wrote.

When the model arrived, the crowd’s energy and the dazzling lights created an unforgettable atmosphere. Inside the VIP section, Melania settled in with her friends, enjoying the sophisticated and lively environment.

However, it wasn’t long before she noticed a man approaching her table. “Hi, I’m Donald Trump,” he introduced himself. She recognized his name but knew little about him.

The model responded politely, and the two struck up a conversation. Donald’s confidence and charm intrigued her. Though he was there with a date, his attention remained focused on Melania.

“He asked me about my time in New York, my Slovenian home, and my world travels. It was a moment of connection, a brief encounter that left a lasting impression. It was nice to make a new acquaintance,” she shared in her memoir.

As the night went on, he asked for her phone number. She declined and instead suggested, “Give me your number,” seemingly taking him by surprise. “I’ll give you my number,” he replied, “if you promise to call me.”

The pair later met for lunch, and Melania recalled learning of Donald’s children and former marriages, “I refrained from passing any judgment, choosing instead to enjoy his company,” she shared.

“I really liked that about him. After returning home, I was giddy with joy. It’s truly a rare feeling to instantly connect with someone on such a deep level,” she added.

“I was immediately at ease in Donald’s company, as if our souls had known each other for a long time. Our chemistry was undeniable, and our connection felt natural,” the former model continued.

Their relationship deepened in the following months. At 28, Melania found herself drawn to Donald’s larger-than-life personality. “As someone who had traveled the globe and encountered many types of people, I found Donald to be different, a breath of fresh air,” she wrote.

Despite their age difference of 24 years, they developed a natural connection. She reflected on his private side, “As I got to know him better, I realized the public only saw a part of Donald Trump. In private, he revealed himself as a gentleman, displaying tenderness and thoughtfulness.”

However, their relationship faced early challenges. In January 2000, as Donald pursued a bid for the Reform Party nomination, he and Melania briefly split. Their separation was short-lived, and by February, they had reconciled.

By 2004, Melania had moved into Trump Tower, embracing life with Donald — cooking for him and supporting him in his daily life. However, the future First Lady still wanted a sense of privacy despite dating such a well-known man.

“I made a conscious effort to maintain a sense of privacy in our relationship. The press followed him around constantly. I wasn’t one for seeking attention, so I tried to keep our time together as low-key as possible,” she shared.

That same year, he proposed at the Met Gala, making the already glamorous event even more unforgettable. Less than a year later, on January 22, 2005, they married in a lavish ceremony at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago estate, with Melania wearing an extravagant Dior gown.

The couple ultimately decided to honeymoon at the residence as well. Then in 2006, they welcomed their son, Barron Trump.

Melania recalled the moment she shared the pregnancy news, “He came home (one day last August), and I told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was… at first, he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy.”

Donald interjected, “I expected we were going to have children, so I wasn’t totally surprised. But I was surprised by the speed of it. It happened very quickly.”

By 2016, Melania became the First Lady of America. Her husband won against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States on January 20, 2017.

“She’s always been hands-on, but she’s more free nowadays to make a statement,” Regine shared. “She’s a different person than she was eight years ago and has always been true to herself. This time, it feels like a different energy with new people that the President has surrounded himself with,” they added.

Reflecting on the couple’s enduring bond, Regine continued, “Sometimes I wonder how she could have the courage to keep on going; they’ve gone through so much. She’s committed. She loves him and he loves her.”

This Country Star Proves Love Knows No Age Limits with Her Husband, 17 Years Her Junior – Their Story

She has spent nearly 60 years in country music, earning respect for her distinctive voice and traditional sound. Along the way, she stepped in and out of the spotlight, balancing her career with family life. Among her personal milestones is a lasting marriage to a fellow musician, that began with an unusual first meeting.

Their 17-year age difference has never been a concern for this country legend. Her husband, now 66, has also made his mark in the industry, but his connection to her started long before they became a couple.

At the time, she was already an established artist with hit records and a growing legacy in country music. What began as admiration from afar eventually turned into a lifelong partnership that has lasted for over 25 years.

By the time they met, she was already a big name in the music industry. Her debut single, “Once a Day,” topped the Billboard Country chart for eight weeks in 1964, making her the first female country artist to achieve that feat with a first release.

The song’s success launched a career that has spanned nearly six decades. Over the years, she recorded 53 studio albums, earning a reputation for her powerful contralto voice that many compared to Patsy Cline’s.

Despite her talent and success, she never pursued fame aggressively. She was more focused on the music itself, and at times, she stepped away from recording and touring to focus on her family.

She married four times and had five children, balancing motherhood with a career that influenced generations of female country artists. In 2012, her impact on the genre was officially recognized when she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

She has often described country music as “the cry of the heart,” explaining that while she didn’t always live the lyrics she sang, she understood them. Her ability to convey raw emotion made her a beloved figure in traditional country music.

The First Time They Met

Her future husband first saw her perform when he was 11 years old, attending her concert with his mother, who was a devoted fan. Her music had already filled their home, and seeing her in person was an exciting moment for him.

“I remember we had one of her RCA Victor records called ‘Miss Smith Goes to Nashville.’ It had the most beautiful portrait of her, and we displayed it on our stereo,” he’d later recall. “I’d walk by and think, ‘She’s really pretty. [She] is beautiful.’ Many people had crushes on her, and for good reason.”

Wanting to make an impression, he asked his mother to buy him a yellow shirt for the occasion, hoping the singer would notice him. After the show, he had the chance to meet her, get her autograph, and even take a picture with her.

Before leaving, he borrowed his mother’s camera to take a close-up photo of her sitting in a car. That day, he told his mother something that seemed impossible at the time. “I’m going to marry Connie Smith one day,” he stated confidently.

How They Reconnected and Married

As he grew older, he built a successful career in country music, performing with some of the biggest names in the industry. His work eventually brought him into her circle again, and this time, their connection deepened.

Over time, their bond became something more, and in 1997, they got married. Their 17-year age difference never stood in the way, and their relationship has lasted for more than 25 years. Looking back, the prediction he made at 11 years old had come true.

The Key to Their Lasting Marriage

More than two decades after their wedding, their marriage remains strong. When asked about the foundation of their relationship, they both emphasize faith, commitment, and communication.

Connie Smith has said that making God the center of their marriage has been essential, while he believes that a lasting relationship requires daily effort. They also make a point to stay connected by turning off distractions and having meaningful conversations.

“Turn the TV off. Turn the gadgets off, and the conversation comes back,” he once said. By prioritizing their relationship, they have built a marriage that has stood the test of time.

Her Health Scare and His Support

In early 2021, Smith was rushed to the hospital after falling seriously ill. She was diagnosed with COVID-19, which had developed into pneumonia in both lungs and led to sepsis. The situation was critical, and at one point, a doctor asked if she wanted to be resuscitated if her heart stopped.

Without hesitation, she responded, “Absolutely. I will not be a COVID statistic. That’s not the way I want to go out.” Throughout her hospitalization, he stayed by her side, supporting her through the difficult recovery.

Smith eventually pulled through, crediting her resilience and determination. The experience only reinforced the strength of their partnership.

Their Musical Collaboration

Music has always been central to the couple’s relationship. Over the years, Marty Stuart has produced several of his wife’s albums, including “The Cry of the Heart,” released in 2021. It was her 54th album as well as her first secular album in a decade, and he played a key role in encouraging her to return to the studio.

The album featured a song written by Dallas Frazier, a songwriter Smith had long admired. Having recorded more than 70 of his songs throughout her career, she felt it was the perfect way to mark her return.

Their shared passion for country music has been a constant in their marriage, strengthening both their personal and professional bond.

Fans Celebrate Her Legacy and Marriage

Smith’s music has resonated with audiences for decades, and fans continue to celebrate her contributions to traditional country. “I LOVE Connie Smith! One of my all-time favorite singers!” one fan wrote, while another called her “so beautiful and a very good traditional country music singer.”

Others expressed similar admiration, with one commenting, “Beautiful lady! One of my very favorites!!!!” Fans are just as fond of her relationship with her husband.

At 83 years old, Smith and the 66-year-old Stuart have built an admirable relationship. A photo of the couple together received an outpouring of support.

One person commented, “Cutest couple ever!” while another wrote, “Wow, don’t they look great.” A third admirer added, “You two are just the cutest couple!!” Their long-lasting marriage, despite their 17-year age difference, continues to be an inspiration to many.

Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Emilia Pérez,” delivering an emotional acceptance speech. She thanked director Jacques Audiard, her co-stars, and the film’s crew, calling the project a “creative challenge of a lifetime.”

She also acknowledged her family, giving a special mention to her children and humorously referring to her husband as “God’s favorite.” While the audience applauded her win, many viewers online did not share the same enthusiasm.

Some argued that Saldaña should not have been in the supporting category, while others criticized the film itself. “She’s not an actual supporting actress, and she won for a bad movie. Man, I love Zoe, but this is just so icky,” one user wrote.

One agreed, “I’m sorry but she does not deserve to be in the supporting categories.” Another commented, “Not deserved at all.” Some questioned whether “Emilia Pérez” was worthy of recognition at all. “I love Zoe, but Emilia Pérez shouldn’t win anything,” a viewer remarked.

One person stated, “Have heard from critics on both sides of the aisle that the [Emilia Pérez] film was a complete dud. [Zoe Saldaña] seems like a very unhappy person, despite her success in acting.”

Saldaña was not the only winner to face backlash. Another major acting award also sparked debate, with critics and fans calling it an undeserved victory.

The Leading Actor Win Questioned

Adrien Brody won Best Leading Actor for his performance as László Tóth in “The Brutalist.” He delivered a speech in which he expressed gratitude to the BAFTA voters, his colleagues, and the British public. He acknowledged his fellow nominees, calling them “esteemed,” and reflected on the themes of the film.

While Brody received applause in the venue, his win was met with strong criticism online. Many viewers took issue with the fact that AI technology had been used to enhance his accent in the film, arguing that this gave him an unfair advantage.

“Considering that he used AI to improve his accent, I think he should be disqualified,” one person commented. Another added, “Undeserved, using AI to modify and enhance his accent.”

Beyond the AI concerns, some viewers felt that Brody’s performance in “The Brutalist” was too similar to his past roles. One user compared it to his Oscar-winning turn in “The Pianist,” writing, “This is so silly—really ridiculous—award for the same role in The Pianist.”

Others argued that another nominee should have won instead. “Terrible actor. Chalamet should have won,” one person stated. The backlash was echoed in various social media platforms, where some users openly questioned whether the BAFTAs were favoring “The Brutalist” too heavily.

One post read, “Are the BAFTAs [censored] rigged or what?? The Brutalist is getting so many, and also Adrien Brody winning Leading Actor is so wrong… his voice was mixed with AI for a start but also all the other [censored] with him, I can’t stand it.”

Another user simply wrote, “Adrien Brody should not be getting all these awards” while another echoed, “Adrien you don’t deserve it.” Brody appeared moved by the recognition, thanking his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, and calling her “an angel.”

However, for many viewers, his win remained one of the most controversial moments of the night. While his award sparked debate, other BAFTA winners received overwhelming praise, with fans celebrating performances they felt were truly deserving.

Eagle-eyed netizens spotted a surprising detail in President Donald Trump’s redecoration of the Oval Office. A framed newspaper cover featuring his Georgia mugshot has sparked criticism and debate online.

During a recent gathering between President Trump and other politicians, an image hanging on a wall outside the White House’s Oval Office caught public attention. The framed newspaper photo left some netizens in shock.

According to the New York Post, the image—a mugshot of Trump—appeared on the publication’s front page. The 47th president has faced legal troubles, which led to the infamous booking photo, yet he appears unfazed by its display.

The publication speculated that Trump might view the mugshot as a source of motivation as he embarks on his second term. The image is displayed in the office of his secretaries, located between the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room.

It hangs in an area frequently used as an entrance for guests. The sight of the mugshot drew strong reactions from netizens, including one who approved of the display, writing, “Oh yeah love it. This should be on a stamp 👏👏.”

Sharing the same sentiment, another person added, “Now that’s having a good sense of humor!! 👏😂.” Meanwhile, an Instagram user described the move as “Epic!!!!! 😂😂.” However, not everyone was impressed. A Facebook user commented, “I wouldn’t want that on display.”

Others were more critical, including one who remarked, “Omg. We live in a time in which we are proud of the things we should be ashamed of.” An unimpressed observer stated, “I would expect nothing less from him,” while another, confused by the choice, simply asked, “But why?”

Dan Scavino, Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Chief of Staff, shared a video showcasing the mugshot on Valentine’s Day. His footage provided viewers with a look at the Oval Office under Trump, captioned, “WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL OVAL OFFICE.”

The handout photo, initially seen on February 14, 2025, in Washington, D.C., was provided by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Trump’s mugshot was originally taken on August 24, 2023, at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, during his booking.

The day after the image was taken, the president defiantly shared the mugshot alongside a link to his website. In April 2023, he appeared in court to face a 34-count felony indictment. The charges were partially related to his involvement in a scheme to suppress allegations of extramarital affairs that surfaced during his first White House campaign.

Trump is the first former US president to face criminal charges. In early January 2025, he was sentenced to no punishment in his hush-money case, allowing him to return to the White House without concern for jail time or fines.

After his January 20 inauguration, Trump began his second term by revamping the Oval Office. Among the most notable additions was the return of his famous Diet Coke button. The button allows him to summon his favorite beverage with a single press.

He also made changes to the décor, adding tributes to several historic figures. These included a bust of Winston Churchill, an Andrew Jackson vase, and even a portrait of himself. His family is also prominently displayed in the office.

The Weekly U.S. Map: Influenza Summary Update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals a sharp increase in flu activity across the United States. Data from Week 6 of the 2024-25 influenza season, ending on February 8, 2025, indicates widespread respiratory illness.

This report, based on data collected from the ILINet (Outpatient Influenza-Like Illness Surveillance Network), tracks cases of fever, cough, and sore throat—symptoms associated with influenza-like illnesses (ILI), though not necessarily confirmed flu cases.

According to the latest update, several states, particularly in the Eastern, Southern, and Midwestern regions, are experiencing very high levels of influenza activity, marked in dark red and purple on the CDC’s map.

Meanwhile, some states in the Western U.S. and parts of the Midwest are reporting moderate to low activity, with flu rates fluctuating in certain regions. The CDC’s interactive tracking system allows users to analyze flu trends over several weeks, offering a timeline of how the virus has spread.

Additionally, the map provides an option to view flu activity by State-Level or CBSA (Core-Based Statistical Area) data, giving a more detailed geographic breakdown. Users can also download the latest flu data or the map for further review.

The 36 states classified as being on the highest/”very high” alert include New York City, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington.

Closely following them in flu intensity are Maine, Washington D.C., North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Further adding to the list of states on “very high” alert are New York State, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Idaho, California, Mississippi, Alabama, and Connecticut. Meanwhile, states such as Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, South Dakota, Florida, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota remain in the high flu activity category, just below the most severe classification.

Flu levels in North Dakota and Utah have been classified as “moderate,” while only Montana, Hawaii, and Alaska fall into the “low activity” category, making them the least affected areas in the nation.

Health experts warn that influenza transmission remains particularly severe in the South. Anita Patel, PharmD, vice president of Pharmacy Health Services at Walgreens in Atlanta, explained that factors such as weather patterns, travel habits, and population density contribute to the flu’s rapid spread in these regions.

“What we are seeing now is high activity in southern states, with some states that had disease early beginning to recover, like Florida, Alabama and Mississippi,” adds Patel.

However, flu activity in the northern and western regions of the U.S. has now reached its peak, Patel noted. She emphasized that cold and dry conditions allow the virus to travel more efficiently, and as temperatures drop, people spending more time indoors in close proximity increases the likelihood of transmission.

The most densely populated cold-weather states, she added, are seeing higher case rates because social distancing is more difficult, and indoor activity remains a primary driver of infections.

Compounding the issue is the fact that flu vaccination rates remain lower nationwide, raising concerns that more people are experiencing severe illness rather than mild cases. Patel stressed that while the flu vaccine does not always prevent infection, it significantly reduces the severity of symptoms and lowers the chances of hospitalization.

The CDC data also reflects outpatient-reported illness trends, meaning that the rise in cases may also be linked to more individuals seeking medical care rather than staying home to recover.

The CDC’s report and Patel’s reflections come over a month after the health organization reported on the occurrence of the first severe case of bird flu in the U.S., which claimed the patient’s life.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), the Louisiana patient was over 65 years old and had underlying medical conditions.

Following exposure to both wild birds and non-commercial backyard flocks, the late patient contracted highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), otherwise known as H5N1, which led to their hospitalization. Amid the LDH’s report on the death, the department issued a message to the loved ones of the deceased.

“The Department expresses its deepest condolences to the patient’s family and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one,” they expressed. They also clarified that there would be no further updates or details shared regarding the deceased patient.

In an effort to safeguard the public, the LDH also divulged measures civilians could take to avoid H5N1 infection.

They urged people to avoid sources of exposure, which meant that individuals should have abstained from coming into direct contact with wild birds and/or any other animal that may have been infected with bird flu viruses or suspected of having them.

No sick wild animals were to be brought into residences, and people were instructed to avoid touching them or the droppings of the wild animals and dead ones. The LDH also warned civilians to keep their pets away from the aforementioned wild and dead animals.

Fourth on their preventative measures list was to avoid consuming any undercooked or uncooked food. They urged people to cook eggs, poultry, and other animal products to the correct temperature and emphasized the avoidance of cross-contamination of cooked and raw food.

People were also urged to inform either the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Diagnostic Lab or the USDA toll-free at 318-927-3441 and 1-866-536-7593, respectively, of any sick or dead birds or animals. Those who work on dairy or poultry farms were instructed to speak to their medical provider about getting seasonal flu vaccinations.

While it would not make them immune to contracting avian influenza viruses, it had a chance of reducing the risk of co-infection with flu and avian viruses. However, the LDH also warned that while the risk of contraction remained low for the general public, those who work with birds, cows, or poultry, or have any recreational exposure to such, stood a greater chance of being infected.

The LDH also noted, “If you have been exposed to sick or dead birds or other animals or work on a farm where avian influenza has been detected, watch for respiratory symptoms or conjunctivitis.”

People who developed symptoms within ten days after exposure to sources were urged to inform their healthcare provider and express their concern about avian influenza.

Doing so would help the medical professional administer the appropriate advice on treatment and testing. “Stay home and away from others while you have symptoms,” added the LDH.

Aside from disclosing steps of prevention and the grim news about the U.S.’s first H5N1 death, the LDH had confirmed that they found no evidence of person-to-person transmission or additional cases. This was apart from the ones that were reported following their extensive public health investigation.

On the matter of the situation at that time regarding cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had reported a confirmed total of 66 human cases in the U.S. during the 2024 outbreak. Several cases were prevalent in U.S. dairy and poultry workers.

The human cases were spread across the states of California, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Regarding the exposure sources, of the 37 cases in California, 36 were reported to have come from dairy herds (cattle), and one had an unknown exposure source. There were ten cases in Colorado, one of which stemmed from dairy herds (cattle), and nine came from poultry farms and culling operations.

The one case in Iowa’s exposure source was reported to be from poultry farms and culling operations, while the one in Louisiana (the case where the patient died) was from other animal exposure.

Michigan’s two cases stemmed from dairy herds (cattle), and the one case in Missouri had an unknown exposure source. Meanwhile, Oregon and Wisconsin both had a case each with an exposure source of poultry farms and culling operations.

The exposure source for Texas’ case was dairy herds (cattle), and all 11 of Washington’s cases stemmed from poultry farms and culling operations. Additionally, the CDC reported that as of January 3, 2025, H5N1 bird flu had been detected in 10,922 wild birds.

Before divulging the data—which the CDC made clear was subject to continuous updates as the situation progressed—and sharing the news about the first death as a result of the virus, an investigation was underway to identify the source of the Louisiana patient’s H5N1 bird flu infection.

At that time, before the exposure source was confirmed, the patient was believed to have come into contact with deceased birds from backyard flocks. This marked the first reported U.S. case of H5N1 bird flu connected to backyard flock exposure.

Genomic analysis of the H5N1 bird flu virus from the Louisiana patient showed that it belonged to the D1.1 genotype, linked to detections in wild birds and poultry in the U.S. and human cases in Canada and Washington.

This differs from the B3.13 genotype seen in dairy cows, some human cases, and poultry outbreaks. At the time, the CDC was conducting further genomic sequencing and virus isolation from the sick patient.

A single severe H5N1 bird flu case in a person is not unusual, as this virus has caused serious illness and fatalities in other countries. The CDC has maintained that the overall public health risk from H5N1 bird flu is low.

Nevertheless, California Governor, Gavin Newsom, declared a State of Emergency to expedite the state’s response to H5N1 bird flu after cases emerged in Southern California dairy cows.

The virus had spread across 16 states since its first confirmed detection in Texas and Kansas on March 25, 2024. Bird flu was first identified in the U.S. wild bird population in South Carolina in January 2022, followed by California in July 2022.

An outbreak in dairy cows was reported in Texas and Kansas, prompting CDFA to monitor California herds. Last month (December 2024), 61 confirmed human cases were reported across seven states, including 34 in California.

Newsom explained that the declaration of a State of Emergency enabled greater flexibility in staffing, contracts, and containment measures. He informed the public that California had implemented the nation’s most extensive testing and monitoring system to address the outbreak.

The governor shared, “We are committed to further protecting public health, supporting our agriculture industry, and ensuring that Californians have access to accurate, up-to-date information.”

As the government worked to enhance public health, people were urged to reduce their risk of H5N1 exposure. If exposure remained unavoidable, personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety goggles, N95 respirators, and disposable coveralls, had to be worn to minimize risks.

For poultry and livestock workers, employers were encouraged to update workplace health and safety plans to address potential H5N1 exposure. They were also urged to conduct hazard assessments to identify high-risk tasks.

Additionally, when employers implement control measures, such as isolating infected animals and ensuring proper hygiene, they can significantly reduce risks.

Additional measures employers were expected to take include providing workers with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safeguard against contact with infected animals or contaminated materials. By following these recommendations, the spread of H5N1 can be effectively mitigated.

What We Know About Gabby Petito’s Death: Her Family Opened Up Ahead of Netflix Documentary Release

From a disturbing 911 call to Brian Laundrie’s mother’s chilling letter, here’s what we know about Gabby Petito’s death, the investigation, and the unanswered questions that remain.

The disappearance of Gabby Petito in 2021 gripped the nation, sparking widespread media coverage and public concern. Now, her tragic story is the focus of the Netflix project, “American Murder: Gabby Petito.”

Netflix describes the three-part documentary as an intimate look at Gabby’s life, pieced together with personal journal entries, text messages, and video footage.

“[…] The series captures the reality of a young woman enmeshed in an abusive relationship behind closed doors — even as she put on a happy, ‘Insta-perfect’ face for social media,” a press release from Netflix stated.

Gabby and her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, embarked on a cross-country road trip in July 2021, sharing their travels and glimpses of their relationship on social media.

“She wanted to cross the country in the camper van and live the van life and live free. This was her dream,” her mother, Nicole, recalled. The couple was last seen together in Utah, where an August 12 police stop in Moab was captured on bodycam footage.

Officers had responded to reports of a domestic altercation, but after speaking with the pair, they let them continue their journey. A later review concluded that officers had mishandled the situation, overlooking warning signs of abuse.

In response, Gabby’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Moab Police Department. Later released FBI documents revealed that a witness had observed the couple’s altercation on August 12.

The witness, traveling through Moab, reported seeing Brian hitting Gabby inside their white Ford Transit van. Concerned, he turned his vehicle around and parked nearby to monitor the situation.

According to the FBI’s report, “The male in the van ‘acted like a lunatic,’ sporadically opening and slamming doors and pacing around the van. He seemed to be pleading with the female and at one point may have tried to hug the female, but was pushed back by her.”

“The male ultimately pushed the female’s legs into the passenger side of the van, closed her door, and entered the driver’s side,” the report continued. Gabby and Brian were then seen crying shortly after.

Although he considered intervening, the witness ultimately chose not to. He later contacted the FBI in September after seeing media coverage of Gabby’s disappearance.

Brian briefly left Gabby on August 17, returning to Florida for a few days before flying back to Utah on August 23. Gabby’s father, Joe, who lived in Florida, recalled ordering an Uber Eats meal for the couple while they were in Salt Lake City on August 21.

The couple left Salt Lake City for Grand Teton National Park around August 24. That same day, Nicole had her final FaceTime call with her daughter.

“She seemed OK to me at the time, other than I don’t know where the relationship was going with the boyfriend,” Nicole said, indicating possible tension between the two.

Communication with Gabby became increasingly infrequent after that. “She was making her way up to Yellowstone,” Nicole recalled, noting that after August 24, their exchanges were limited to text messages.

“The last text I got from her was on Aug. 30. I don’t know if that was her texting me or not,” Nicole admitted. On September 1, Brian returned to his parents’ home in North Port, Florida — alone.

Gabby Petito’s Death and Brian Laundrie’s Confession

As weeks passed with no sign of Gabby, public speculation grew over what had happened to her. When Brian returned home alone from their trip, concerns escalated. Her family reported her missing, and the case became a national focus.

On September 19, authorities discovered her remains in Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue later confirmed how Gabby died and that her body had been in the wilderness for three to four weeks.

“In the manner of death of Gabrielle Venora Petito, we find the cause and manner to be — cause, death by strangulation, and manner is homicide,” he continued.

As the search for Brian continued, his belongings were eventually found in a Florida nature preserve near his parents’ home. On October 20, authorities recovered his remains along with a backpack, a revolver, and a notebook.

In their final statement on the case, Special Agent Michael Schneider confirmed, “The investigation did not identify any other individuals other than Brian Laundrie directly involved in the tragic death of Gabby Petito.”

Roberta Laundrie’s Disturbing Letter to Brian Laundrie

A shocking revelation in the heartbreaking Gabby and Brian case came with the discovery of a letter written by Brian’s mother, Roberta. In the undated letter, which was found among Brian’s belongings, Roberta made a chilling offer to her son.

“If you’re in jail, I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I will show up with a shovel and garbage bags,” she wrote. The envelope was marked with Brian’s name and included the words “burn after reading.”

The letter, which Roberta instructed Brian to destroy after reading, was later released by her lawyer to USA TODAY. In it, she also expressed her deep love for her son.

“I just want you to remember I will always Love you and I know you will always Love me. You are my boy,” she penned to her son.

Gabby Petito’s Final Days and Fear of Leaving Brian Laundrie

In the days before her death, according to reports, Gabby told her ex-boyfriend, Jackson, that she was considering leaving Brian but feared how he might react.

This new revelation, shared in the recent Netflix docuseries, highlights her growing concerns about the relationship. Filmmaker Julia Willoughby Nason further described reading Gabby’s messages with Brian as unsettling.

“Looking at her text messages with Brian for the first time, knowing that he had murdered her was haunting because it was like the manipulation…was very subtle,” she said. “And I think that we’re hoping that this series can show the subtlety of intimate partner abuse, especially among young people.”

While Brian had returned to Florida on Aug. 12, leaving Gabby alone in Salt Lake City, she reached out to Jackson, confiding in him about her fears of ending the relationship.

“She wasn’t sure of what he would do, or what he could do,” Jackson shared. On Aug. 27, Brian had returned, and Gabby messaged Jackson again, mentioning that their stop in Jackson, Wyoming, reminded her of him.

That same day, witnesses reported seeing Brian arguing with staff at the Merry Piglets Tex-Mex restaurant. Some believe this confrontation may have contributed to his growing agitation just hours before Gabby’s death.

However, the couple’s text messages shed new light on what happened inside. “Ask for the check and tell her that the smell made me sick…idk the chicken wasn’t right. I actually don’t feel good…gonna be a min [sic],” Gabby texted Brian.

“Okay. I got the check, should I wait for you, should I get a to go box?” he replied. “I don’t want to pay for food that made me sick,” she wrote back. Witnesses revealed that they believed Brian was arguing with staff about money and said he left and returned four times.

Later that afternoon, Gabby was captured on surveillance footage at a Whole Foods store. She attempted to call Jackson, but he was at work and couldn’t answer.

In one of her last messages, she expressed doubts to her mother about her relationship with Brian. She suggested that she might be better off pursuing her van-life blog without him.

Gabby Petito’s Family Focuses on Advocacy and Healing

Rather than dwelling on the past, Gabby’s family has dedicated themselves to making a difference through the Gabby Petito Foundation. Their efforts have led to the passage of four laws aimed at improving how police handle missing persons cases.

One significant change includes requiring officers to implement a “lethality assessment protocol” — a series of questions designed to identify potential signs of domestic violence.

Though they acknowledge that there is no true closure, they have found healing through their advocacy. “I have forgiven Brian, and I know that is what Gabby would have wanted, and I’m moving forward so I can move on,” Nicole said.

“That is my personal experience. I don’t think everyone has to forgive. They can when they are ready if they are ever ready. But for me personally, I needed to forgive to let that anchor go,” she added.

Her husband, Gabby’s stepfather, echoed the sentiment, “Forgiveness is for you. It is for your healing. For your grief. For you to be able to move on.”

Despite their personal growth, Gabby’s family revealed that they have never received an apology from Brian’s parents. “We are never going to get that,” Joe said.

“At this point, I don’t want one,” Tara Petito, Gabby’s stepmother, added. “It doesn’t help us. I would love for them to be charged with something. I really, really would love that. Do I think that is happening now? Unfortunately no. So I really want to erase that name out of my memory.”

Recent depositions suggest that Brian’s parents knew Gabby was “gone” long before her body was discovered, though they have continued to deny any wrongdoing through their attorney.

Nicole expressed that, while many questions remain unanswered, the family has accepted the reality of the situation. “I don’t think we will ever know why. The two people who will only know why and how are the two people who were there,” she said.

“I think we have the answers we needed. We know that things were known. I don’t want to go too deep. I don’t like to talk about them or say their names,” she continued.

NASA scientist shares list of cities that could be hit by asteroid if it strikes Earth in seven years

It’s probably not going to hit us, but if it does here’s where it might strike

A NASA scientist has shared a list of cities that asteroid 2024 YR4 could hit if it impacts our planet.

Don’t panic now, the odds of this chunk of space rock actually slamming into Earth are still very low despite rising in recent weeks, so the odds are still heavily in favour of the asteroid missing us completely.

Right now there’s a 3.1 percent chance of the asteroid even hitting our planet, or about a one in 32 chance of that occurring.

Your outlook is going depend on whether you’re a glass thirty-second-full or glass thirty-one-empty type person, but you’d need to be quite a pessimist to be thinking the worst is coming.

The chance of the asteroid hitting us is liable to change in the future, as Professor Martin Ward of Durham University said our estimations ‘get more accurate with time as we get more data’.

We can see the asteroid coming, though we don't know exactly where it'll go (ATLAS)

We can see the asteroid coming, though we don’t know exactly where it’ll go (ATLAS)

He explained that experts project which paths the asteroid could travel along and get the chance of it hitting us from how many of those lines would strike Earth, and over time as they learn more they can knock some projected paths out of the running.

With some of those lines where the asteroid would miss us being taken out of the equation the odds of it hitting us go up slightly, but we’ll get a clearer picture the closer the time when it might hit us comes.

David Rankin, an engineer at the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey Project, has told Space.com that the ‘risk corridor’ runs through South America, sub-Saharan Africa, the Indian subcontinent and through to Asia.

He stressed that the most likely scenario was still for the asteroid to miss us completely.

Even if it does hit it could come down in the various oceans and seas the risk corridor runs over, and any damage it would cause would really depend on just how large asteroid 2024 YR4 is.

The asteroid that probably won't hit us is a going to be at least 150 times smaller than the one which wiped out the dinosaurs (Getty Stock Image)

In the very unlikely chance that it hits planet Earth there are some cities in the projected path where the asteroid could strike.

That path goes over various cities, including the Colombian capital of Bogotá, Côte d’Ivoire city Abidjan, the Nigerian city of Lagos with 21 million people living there, the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, the Indian cities of Mumbai, Kolkata and the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.

Once again, the most likely occurrence is that the asteroid misses our planet completely and everyone is fine, but there are some heavily populated cities in the part of our planet where it would potentially strike.

Fortunately the asteroid is not expected to reach Earth until 2032 and we have some excellent developments in deflection technology which we could employ if the risk begins to grow too great.

Rankin has said there is even a 0.3 percent chance that the asteroid would hit the Moon instead, so that’s very unlikely to happen but would make for quite a sight.
