Two airport workers arrested over American Airlines crash leak

Two airport workers have been arrested after allegedly leaking footage of the American Airlines crash to news outlets.

As widely reported, American Airlines flight 5342 crashed while it was coming in to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on January 29.

Tragically, the aircraft struck a military-operated Black Hawk helicopter and the wreckage of both aircraft plunged into the Potomac River.

Aboard the American Airlines flight were 60 passengers and four crew, with the helicopter holding three military personnel.

Sadly, there were no survivors.

Following the tragedy, footage of the crash circulated online, and two airport workers have now been arrested as a result.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) staffers are accused of making an unauthorized copy of records and are now facing charges of computer trespass, the agency announced on Monday, per the New York Post.

The charges stem from chilling video footage that surfaced last week.

The footage captured the devastating moment when a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet collided on Wednesday night, killing all 67 people aboard both aircraft.

CNN’s exclusive videos revealed a closer and clearer view of the disaster. One clip shows the Black Hawk helicopter moving in from the left side of the screen as the American Airlines flight approached the airport.

Another short video captures both aircraft – one carrying three soldiers and the other a Bombardier CRJ700 – moments before they collide and explode.

CNN reported that both videos were recorded on cell phones.

Authorities identified the suspects as Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, 21, of Rockville, Maryland, who was charged on Friday, and Jonathan Savoy, 45, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, who was charged on Sunday.

According to the MWAA, Mbengue was booked into the Arlington County Adult Detention Center and later released, while Savoy was issued a summons by a magistrate and released.

Meanwhile, recovery efforts are underway as officials continue to retrieve the wreckage of the American Airlines flight.

Most victims’ bodies have been recovered from the icy river, and authorities plan to bring parts of the plane to shore before commencing efforts to recover the Black Hawk helicopter.

The military helicopter was carrying Army Capt. Rebecca Lobach, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Eaves, and Staff Sgt. Ryan O’Hara.

Additionally, 14 U.S. figure skaters were among the passengers, including six members of The Skating Club of Boston.

Renowned Russian-born coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, a married pair who won the 1994 World Figure Skating Championships, were also passengers.

They had spent decades coaching young skaters in New England. Their son, competitive skater Maxim Naumov, was not on the plane.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov extended condolences following the confirmation of their deaths.

“Unfortunately, we see that this sad information is being confirmed,” he said. “We are sorry and send condolences to the families and friends who lost those of our fellow citizens who died in the plane crash.”

On Friday evening, an air ambulance plummeted from the sky shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport at 6.06 PM local time, heading to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, before continuing on to Mexico to return an 11-year-old patient and her mother.

The Learjet 55 had only been airborne for less than a minute before the disaster, which killed all six people on board and one person on the ground.

Andre Howard, 10, had been in the car getting doughnuts with his dad and two siblings when the plane crashed nearby.

His father, also called Andre Howard, told ABC 6 Action News that his son had immediately sprung into action to protect his little sister, despite getting injured himself.

Andre Sr. explained: “Heard what we thought was a car crash, but then you see a fury of fire in the air, then a bunch of debris shooting everywhere.

“My son … tells his little sister, ‘Get down!’ And he grabs her [as] I hear the glass shatter. I turn around, there’s a piece of metal sticking out of my son’s head from the plane.”

A bystander who’d seen what happened quickly ran over, took the shirt off his own back and used it to apply pressure to the boy’s head before a city police officer rushed him to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where doctors operated immediately.

Andre Sr. added: “They told us my son wasn’t supposed to make it. They also told us, ‘They don’t do children trauma.’ But they did for us, which was nothing but God.”

Andre Jr.’s mother, Lashawn Hamiel, revealed that while it was heartbreaking seeing her son injured, she was proud of him for saving his sister from harm, explaining: “As a mother what am I supposed to do?

“But he’s good. He’s pushing through. He’s strong, he’s a jokester, but he’s strong. He’s a superhero.”

His father also shared his pride for the 10-year-old’s selfless actions, telling the station: “To face death yesterday and speaking today, stepping up for his little sister, like I train him and his other little brothers to do off of instinct — he’s my hero.”

Lashawn added that doctor are keeping her son stable and comfortable while they work out how to proceed with treating him.

At least 22 people were injured in the crash, with seven people dying in the tragic incident.

The victims on board the plane were named as Valentina Guzman Murillo, 11; her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna, 31; Capt. Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales; co-pilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez; Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo; and paramedic Rodrigo Lopez Padilla, while the victim who lost their life on the ground has yet to be publicly identified.

Valentina had been on her way back to Tijuana after having had life-saving treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital for complications from spinal bifida including pressure sores.

Susan Marie Fasino, who’d helped the “very frail” young girl, wrote on Facebook: “The plan was to bring them home to live out the rest of her life surrounded with love and with her adoring family.

“Her mother was one of the most adoring attentive mothers a child could ever have. She literally never left her side.”

Shriners spokesperson Mel Bower added that those who’d treated Valentina were also deeply affected by the tragic news, saying: “It’s extremely hard and extremely difficult, those that were involved directly in her care were very aware that she was going to be traveling home and there had actually been a sendoff for her today.”

The circumstances of the crash are now being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board after the plane’s black box was recovered, reportedly from eight feet below ground.

Acne

Acne is a very common skin condition that causes pimples. You’ll usually get pimples on your face. Clogged pores cause acne. Teenagers and young adults most often get acne, but it can also occur during adulthood for many people. Treatment is available to clear acne from your skin and prevent scarring.

Overview

What is acne?

Acne is a common skin condition where the pores of your skin clog. Pore blockages produce blackheads, whiteheads and other types of pimples. Pimples are pus-filled, sometimes painful, bumps on your skin.

The medical term for acne is acne vulgaris.

What are the types of acne?

There are several types of acne, including:

  • Fungal acne (pityrosporum folliculitis): Fungal acne occurs when yeast builds up in your hair follicles. These can be itchy and inflamed.
  • Cystic acne: Cystic acne causes deep, pus-filled pimples and nodules. These can cause scars.
  • Hormonal acne: Hormonal acne affects adults who have an overproduction of sebum that clogs their pores.
  • Nodular acne: Nodular acne is a severe form of acne that causes pimples on the surface of your skin, and tender, nodular lumps under your skin.

All of these forms of acne can affect your self-esteem, and both cystic and nodular acne can lead to permanent skin damage in the form of scarring. It’s best to seek help from a healthcare provider early so they can determine the best treatment option(s) for you.

Who does acne affect?

Acne usually affects everyone at some point in their lifetime. It’s most common among teenagers and young adults undergoing hormonal changes, but acne can also occur during adulthood. Adult acne is more common among women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB). You may be more at risk of developing acne if you have a family history of acne (genetics).

How common is acne?

If you have acne, know that you’re not alone. Acne is the most common skin condition that people experience. An estimated 80% of people ages 11 to 30 will have at least a mild form of acne.

Where on my body will I have acne?

The most common places where you might have acne are on your:

  • Face.
  • Forehead.
  • Chest.
  • Shoulders.
  • Upper back.

Oil glands exist all over your body. The common locations of acne are where oil glands exist the most.

Symptoms and Causes

What are the symptoms of acne?

Symptoms of acne on your skin include:

  • Pimples (pustules): Pus-filled bumps (papules).
  • Papules: Small, discolored bumps, often red to purple or darker than your natural skin tone.
  • Blackheads: Plugged pores with a black top.
  • Whiteheads: Plugged pores with a white top.
  • Nodules: Large lumps under your skin that are painful.
  • Cysts: Painful fluid-filled (pus) lumps under your skin.

Acne can be mild and cause a few occasional pimples or it can be moderate and cause inflammatory papules. Severe acne causes nodules and cysts.

What causes acne?

Clogged hair follicles or pores cause acne. Your hair follicles are small tubes that hold a strand of your hair. There are several glands that empty into your hair follicles. When too much material is inside your hair follicle, a clog occurs. Your pores can clog with:

  • Sebum: An oily substance that provides a protective barrier for your skin.
  • Bacteria: Small amounts of bacteria naturally live on your skin. If you have too much bacteria, it can clog your pores.
  • Dead skin cells: Your skin cells shed often to make room for more cells to grow. When your skin releases dead skin cells, they can get stuck in your hair follicles.

When your pores clog, substances plug up your hair follicle, creating a pimple. This triggers inflammation, which you feel as pain and swelling. You can also see inflammation through skin discoloration like redness around a pimple.

Triggers of acne

Certain things in your environment contribute to acne or they can make an acne breakout worse, including:

  • Wearing tight-fitting clothing and headgear, like hats and sports helmets.
  • Air pollution and certain weather conditions, especially high humidity.
  • Using oily or greasy personal care products, like heavy lotions and creams, or working in an area where you routinely come in contact with grease, such as working at a restaurant with frying oil.
  • Stress, which increases the hormone cortisol.
  • A side effect of a medication.
  • Picking at your acne.

Foods that cause acne

Some studies link particular foods and diets to acne, like:

  • Skim milk.
  • Whey protein.
  • Diets high in sugar.

While high-sugar diets may lead to acne outbreaks, chocolate isn’t directly linked to acne.

To reduce your risk of acne, choose to eat a balanced, nutritious diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene, which helps reduce inflammation.

Hormones and acne

Acne is largely a hormonal condition that’s driven by androgen hormones (testosterone). This typically becomes active during teenage and young adult years. You might also notice acne forming around the time of your period as a result of hormone activity. Sensitivity to this hormone — combined with surface bacteria on your skin and substances released from your body’s glands — can result in acne.

Diagnosis and Tests

How is acne diagnosed?

A healthcare provider can diagnose acne during a skin exam. During this exam, the provider will closely look at your skin to learn more about your symptoms. In addition, they may also ask about risk factors for acne, like:

  • Are you feeling stressed?
  • Do you have a family history of acne?
  • If a woman or person AFAB, do you notice breakouts during your menstrual cycle?
  • What medications do you currently take?

Your healthcare provider won’t need to run any diagnostic tests for acne, but they may offer tests to diagnose any underlying conditions if you have sudden, severe acne outbreaks, especially if you’re an adult.

Who treats acne?

A general healthcare provider or a dermatologist can diagnose and treat acne. If you have stubborn acne that doesn’t improve with treatment, a dermatologist can help.

How severe can acne get?

Dermatologists rank acne by severity:

  • Grade 1 (mild): Mostly whiteheads and blackheads, with a few papules and pustules.
  • Grade 2 (moderate or pustular acne): Multiple papules and pustules, mostly on your face.
  • Grade 3 (moderately severe or nodulocystic acne): Numerous papules and pustules, along with occasionally inflamed nodules. Your back and chest may also be affected.
  • Grade 4 (severe nodulocystic acne): Numerous large, painful and inflamed pustules and nodules.

Management and Treatment

How is acne treated?

There are several ways to treat acne. Each type of treatment varies based on your age, the type of acne you have and the severity. A healthcare provider might recommend taking oral medications, using topical medications or using medicated therapies to treat your skin. The goal of acne treatment is to stop new pimples from forming and to heal the existing blemishes on your skin.

Topical acne medications

Your healthcare provider may recommend using a topical acne medication to treat your skin. You can rub these medications directly onto your skin as you would a lotion or a moisturizer. These could include products that contain one of the following ingredients:

  • Benzoyl peroxide: This is available as an over-the-counter product (such as Clearasil®, Stridex® and PanOxyl®) as a leave-on gel or wash. It targets surface bacteria, which often aggravates acne. Lower concentrations and wash formulations are less irritating to your skin.
  • Salicylic acid: This is available over the counter for acne as a cleanser or lotion. It helps remove the top layer of damaged skin. Salicylic acid dissolves dead skin cells to prevent your hair follicles from clogging.
  • Azelaic acid: This is a natural acid found in various grains such as barley, wheat and rye. It kills microorganisms on the skin and reduces swelling.
  • Retinoids (vitamin A derivatives): Retinol, such as Retin-A®, Tazorac® and Differin®, which is available without a prescription, breaks up blackheads and whiteheads and helps prevent clogged pores, the first signs of acne. Most people are candidates for retinoid therapy. These medications aren’t spot treatments and must be used on the entire area of skin affected by acne to prevent the formation of new pimples. You often need to use these for several months before noticing positive results.
  • Antibiotics: Topical antibiotics like clindamycin and erythromycin control surface bacteria that aggravate and cause acne. Antibiotics are more effective when combined with benzoyl peroxide.
  • Dapsone: Dapsone (Aczone®) is a topical gel, which also has antibacterial properties. It treats inflamed acne.

Oral acne medications

Oral acne medications are pills that you take by mouth to clear your acne. Types of oral acne medications could include:

  • Antibiotics: Antibiotics treat acne caused by bacteria. Common antibiotics for acne include tetracycline, minocycline and doxycycline. These are best for moderate to severe acne.
  • Isotretinoin (Amnesteem®, Claravis® and Sotret®): Isotretinoin is an oral retinoid. Isotretinoin shrinks the size of oil glands, which contributes to acne formation.
  • Contraceptives: The use of certain contraceptives can sometimes help women and people AFAB who have acne. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved several types of birth control pills for treating acne. Some brand names include Estrostep®, Beyaz®, Ortho Tri-Cyclen® and Yaz®. These pills contain a combination of estrogen (the primary AFAB sex hormone) and progesterone (a natural form of steroid that helps regulate menstruation).
  • Hormone therapy: Hormone therapy is helpful for some people with acne, especially if you experience acne flare-ups during menstruation or irregular periods caused by excess androgen (a hormone). Hormone therapy consists of low-dose estrogen and progesterone (birth control pills) or a medication called spironolactone that blocks the effect of certain hormones at the level of your hair follicles and oil glands.

Additional acne therapies

If topical or oral medications don’t work well for your acne or if you have scars from your acne, a healthcare provider may recommend different types of acne therapies to clear your skin, including:

  • Steroids: Steroids can treat severe acne with injections into large nodules to reduce inflammation.
  • Lasers: Lasers and light therapy treat acne scars. A laser delivers heat to the scarred collagen under your skin. This relies on your body’s wound-healing response to create new, healthy collagen, which encourages growth of new skin to replace it.
  • Chemical peels: This treatment uses special chemicals to remove the top layer of old skin. After removal of the top layer of skin, new skin grows in smoother and can lessen acne scars.

How do antibiotics treat acne?

Antibiotics are medications that target bacteria. Some used to treat acne also can decrease inflammation. Bacteria can clog your pores and cause acne. Antibiotics are responsible for:

  • Blocking bacteria from entering your body.
  • Destroying bacteria.
  • Preventing bacteria from multiplying.

A healthcare provider will recommend antibiotics if you have acne caused by bacteria or if you have an infection. Antibiotics get rid of an infection if bacteria gets into a popped pimple, which can swell and become painful. This medication isn’t a cure for acne and you shouldn’t take it long-term to treat acne.

How can I make my acne go away at home?

If you have acne, you can start an at-home skin care routine to help your acne go away by:

  • Washing your skin at least once daily with warm (not hot) water and a gentle cleanser. Cleansers are over-the-counter skin care products that help clean your skin.
  • Washing your skin after you exercise or sweat.
  • Avoid using skin care products with alcohol, astringents, toners and exfoliants, which can irritate your skin.
  • Removing your makeup at the end of the day or before you go to bed.
  • Choosing an oil-free moisturizer to apply on your skin after cleansing.
  • Avoid popping, picking or squeezing your acne. Let your skin heal naturally to prevent scars from forming on your skin.

If your at-home skin care routine isn’t effective at treating acne, visit a healthcare provider.

Is acne treatment safe for people who are pregnant?

Many topical and oral acne treatments aren’t safe to take during pregnancy. If you’re pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant, it’s important to discuss acne treatments with your healthcare provider and notify them if you become pregnant.

How long does it take for acne to go away?

On average, it can take between one to two weeks for acne pimples to clear up on their own. With medicated treatment and a good skin care routine, you can speed up your body’s healing time to make acne go away faster. For severe acne, it can take several weeks for your acne to go away, even with treatment.

Prevention

How can I prevent acne?

You can’t completely prevent acne, especially during hormone changes, but you can reduce your risk of developing acne by:

  • Washing your face daily with warm water and a facial cleanser.
  • Using an oil-free moisturizer.
  • Wearing “noncomedogenic” makeup products and removing makeup at the end of each day.
  • Keeping your hands away from your face.

Outlook / Prognosis

What can I expect if I have acne?

Acne often goes away in early adulthood, though some people will continue to experience acne throughout adulthood. Your healthcare provider or a board-certified dermatologist can help you manage this condition. Various medications and therapies are effective forms of treatment. They target the underlying factors that contribute to acne. It may take several different types of treatment before you and your healthcare provider find one that works best for your skin. The skin care products that work for you might not work for someone else with similar symptoms.

Can acne cause scars?

Yes, sometimes acne can cause scarring. This happens when the acne penetrates the top layer of your skin and damages deeper skin layers. Inflammation makes your acne pores swell and the pore walls start to breakdown, which causes skin damage. Scarring can be a source of anxiety, which is normal. Before treatment, your healthcare provider will determine what type of acne caused your scars. There are several treatment options available for acne scars.

How does acne affect my mental health?

Acne can cause disruptions in your mental health because it affects your appearance and self-esteem. Often, acne development is out of your control if hormones cause it. This can create stress, which can influence future breakouts. Acne can be challenging for teenagers and young adults. If your acne causes you to feel anxious or it prevents you from participating in social activities with your friends and family, talk to a healthcare provider or a mental health professional.

Living With

When should I see my healthcare provider?

Visit a healthcare provider as soon as you notice pimples so you can start treatment immediately before scarring occurs. If you’re using an acne treatment that isn’t working to clear your acne or it causes skin irritation like itchiness or skin discoloration, visit a provider.

What questions should I ask my doctor?

  • What type of acne do I have?
  • How severe is my acne?
  • Do I need to see a dermatologist?
  • What over-the-counter medications do you recommend?
  • What prescription medications do you recommend?

A note from Cleveland Clinic

Acne is the most common of all skin conditions and it can have an impact on your mental health and self-esteem. If you have stubborn acne, visit a healthcare provider or a dermatologist to treat your acne. Sometimes, your acne needs a little extra help to go away with a medication if at-home skin care treatments don’t work. While it may be tempting, try not to pick at your acne or pop pimples to prevent scarring. Remember that acne is temporary and will go away with the right treatment designed for your skin.

Cystic Acne

People with cystic acne develop pus-filled acne cysts (pimples) deep under the skin. The acne cysts are often painful and can be large. A dermatologist should treat cystic acne to reduce the risk of scarring and infection. Antibiotics and prescription-strength topical (skin) creams can help clear up your skin.

Overview

Cystic Acne
A cystic acne breakout on the face, which has a lot of oil glands.

What is cystic acne?

Cystic acne is a type of inflammatory acne that causes painful, pus-filled pimples to form deep under the skin. Acne occurs when oil and dead skin cells clog skin pores.

With cystic acne, bacteria also gets into the pores, causing swelling or inflammation. Cystic acne is the most severe type of acne. Acne cysts are often painful and more likely to cause scarring.

What’s the difference between an acne cyst and an acne nodule?

Nodular acne and cystic acne are very similar. Both cause deep, painful bumps under the skin. And both can scar. Differences include:

  • Acne cysts are filled with pus, a fluid.
  • Acne nodules are more solid and harder than acne cysts because they don’t contain fluid.

Symptoms and Causes

What causes cystic acne?

Pores in the skin can clog with excess oil and dead skin cells, causing pimples. Bacteria can enter the skin pores and get trapped along with the oil and skin cells. The skin reaction causes swelling deep in the skin’s middle layer (the dermis). This infected, red, swollen lump is an acne cyst.

Cystic acne causes include:

  • Age (teenagers are more prone to cystic acne).
  • Family history of cystic acne.
  • Hormone changes during the teenage years and sometimes during menopause, and stress.

What does cystic acne look like?

Acne cysts resemble boils, a type of skin infection. An acne cyst may be:

  • A red lump under the skin.
  • Painful or tender to touch.
  • Small as a pea or big as a dime.
  • Oozing pus from a whitish-yellow head.
  • Crusty.

Where do acne cysts develop?

A cystic acne breakout may cover a large area of skin. Cystic acne tends to appear on the face, which has a lot of oil glands. But you can also get acne cysts on your:

  • Back.
  • Butt.
  • Chest.
  • Neck.
  • Shoulders.
  • Upper arms.

Diagnosis and Tests

How is cystic acne diagnosed?

A dermatologist, a doctor who specializes in skin conditions, can examine your skin and make a cystic acne diagnosis.

Management and Treatment

How is cystic acne managed or treated?

Acne cysts can be difficult to treat. Because they can scar, you should seek help from a dermatologist instead of trying over-the-counter acne products. A dermatologist can teach you how to treat cystic acne.

It can take three months or more to clear up acne cysts. Treatment often involves taking oral antibiotics and applying prescription-strength topical gels or creams to the skin.

Cystic acne treatments include:

  • Antibiotic creams, gels solutions and lotions to kill bacteria and decrease inflammation.
  • Azelaic acid (Azelex®, Finacea®) or salicylic acid to kill bacteria and get rid of excess dead skin cells.
  • Benzoyl peroxide to reduce the number of bacteria on the skin.
  • Retinoids (adapalene, tretinoin, tazarotene among others), vitamin A derivatives that help slough dead skin cells.

What are other cystic acne treatments?

Other treatments for cystic acne include:

  • Corticosteroid injections: Used to quickly shrink large, painful acne cysts.
  • Incision and draining: Helps to open up an acne cyst and drain the pus.
  • Birth control pill or spironolactone: Used by women to lower hormone levels that cause cystic acne.
  • Isotretinoin: An oral retinoid (most commonly called Accutane).

What are the complications of cystic acne?

Opening up acne cysts — by popping or picking them — increases the risk of scarring and bacterial skin infections like cellulitis.

Some people develop pigment changes (light or dark) spots at the site of the acne cyst after the skin clears up. These spots may be pink, purple, red, black or brown. They eventually fade away, but it may take more than a year.

Prevention

How can I prevent cystic acne?

You can lower your risk of getting acne by taking these steps:

  • Use a mild foaming facial cleanser, lukewarm water and your fingers (not a washcloth or sponge) to wash your face after you wake up, before going to bed and after exercising or sweating.
  • Apply oil-free moisturizer if you feel dry.
  • Use noncomedogenic (water-based) makeup and facial products.
  • Don’t sleep in makeup.
  • Keep your hands away from your face during the day.
  • Don’t pick at or pop pimples or scabs.
  • Wash your hair regularly and keep hair (which can be oily) away from your face.
  • Occasionally oily environments, such as working at a fast food restaurant, can contribute to acne flares.
  • Diets high in simple sugars and dairy, also called a high glycemic index diet, may contribute to flares as well.

Outlook / Prognosis

What is the prognosis (outlook) for people who have cystic acne?

Most people with cystic acne can prevent severe breakouts or quickly treat acne cysts to prevent scarring. Often, but not always, cystic acne clears up or diminishes with age, as hormones settle down.

Severe or untreated cystic acne can affect how you feel about your appearance, making you anxious or depressed. If cystic acne bothers you, talk with your healthcare provider about getting help with fostering a positive self-image.

Living With

When should I call the doctor?

You should call your healthcare provider if you experience:

  • Swollen, red, painful pimples.
  • Acne or scarring that makes you feel self-conscious.
  • Signs of a skin infection.

What questions should I ask my doctor?

You may want to ask your healthcare provider:

  • What causes cystic acne?
  • What is the best cystic acne treatment?
  • What are the treatment side effects?
  • How can I lower my chances of getting acne cysts?
  • How can I prevent scarring or other complications?

A note from Cleveland Clinic

It’s tempting to want to touch or pick at painful, swollen acne cysts. But cystic acne is more likely than other zits to scar or develop infections. A dermatologist can offer suggestions to prevent cystic acne. This doctor can also treat painful acne cysts, lowering the chances of scarring. Antibiotics and topical (skin) creams are effective cystic acne treatments.

The 47-year-old rapper and his wife, Bianca Censori, made a dramatic entrance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, which took place at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (February 2).

West, who was nominated for Best Rap Song for his 2024 track ‘Carnival’, arrived at the prestigious event with the 29-year-old in two $450,000 all-chrome Mercedes-Maybachs, The Mirror reported.

But while their luxury rides turned heads, it was Censori’s outfit that truly stole the spotlight.

The Australian model ditched her lavish black fur coat to reveal her sheer, see-through dress that left next to nothing to the imagination. She then completed the look with see-through flip-flop heels, slicked-back hair, and simple makeup.

Meanwhile, her rapper husband opted for a more understated look, dressing in an all-black T-shirt and trousers, paired with oversized boots and his signature wraparound sunglasses.

As the couple posed on the red carpet, a video circulating online captured the moment the ‘Runaway’ star leaned in to whisper something to his wife while cameras flashed.

According to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling, West reportedly told Censori: “I’ll tell ‘em you’re on fire tonight, babe.”

The comment couldn’t have been more fitting, because whether fans loved or hated it, the former architectural designer’s daring look had already set social media ablaze.

Following the red carpet reveal, social media exploded with criticism, with many users blasting Censori’s outfit as inappropriate.

“Nah. This is crazy. She’s stunning why? WHY? This isn’t haute couture. This isn’t fashion. This is just sad,” one person wrote. “The way everyone went silent for a second after she dropped the coat,” another pointed out.

“So we are just walking around naked now,” a third said, while a fourth added: “I’m usually all for people dressing how they want, but this is just straight-up public indecency and shouldn’t be allowed.”

Despite the frenzy their appearance caused, the couple’s time at the award ceremony was brief, as they left shortly after arriving.

While West and Censori dominated headlines for their Grammys appearance, the DONDA musician also made waves online earlier that day by resurfacing on social media after a long hiatus.

The award-winning rapper, who has been largely inactive on X (formerly Twitter) due to past bans for controversial remarks, returned with a surprising apology to former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Referring to a previous explicit comment about Harris that has since been deleted, he posted: “Kamala seems like a very nice human. I just wanna say sorry to her kids.”

In another post, West also voiced his support for President Donald Trump, writing: “Trump’s back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok.”

The surprises didn’t stop there as West also made it known that he was only following one person on Instagram – Taylor Swift.

The move raised eyebrows given the pair’s long-running feud, which famously began at the 2009 MTV VMAs when the ‘Heartless’ rapper stormed the stage during Swift’s acceptance speech to declare that Beyoncé should have won.

With the controversial Grammys appearance and return to social media, it’s clear that West isn’t staying out of the spotlight anytime soon.

Benson Boone issues apology after being caught 'aggressively' adjusting crotch during Grammys performance

The singer was struggling in his particularly tight jumpsuit

Wardrobe malfunctions have long gone hand in hand with live awards shows, as singer Benson Boone found out during last night’s Grammys.

The annual celebration of music’s biggest and greatest took place last night (2 February) in Los Angeles, with the ‘Best New Artist’ nominee performing his breakout song ‘Beautiful Things’ in-front of industry icons as well as viewers at home.

Boone made sure to pull out all of the stops for the performance, which featured numerous back flips as well as Heidi Klum and comedian Nikki Glaser ripping off his suit.

However, the strong performance was ultimately overshadowed by one unfortunately timed crotch grab.

In Boone’s defence, the sparkly blue jumpsuit did appear to be extremely tight and the high energy performance meant that his junk would’ve come flying out of place during the back flip off the piano.

However, none of this mattered to the internet, who were keen to make sure the moment was immortalised forever.

“Benson Boone and this beautiful thing that he’s got at the #GRAMMYs,” one user joked, while sharing a clip of the moment on X. A second added: “Benson Boone needing a little shift.”

“I will be thinking about Benson Boone’s crotch grab for…a WHILE,” a third user said.

Meanwhile, others were debating whether or not the adjustment was done on purpose or if Boone simply forgot that he was on stage at the Grammys and being watched by millions.

“As if he didn’t do it on purpose to get attention,” one unimpressed user replied to the clip.

“Gotta try get people to watch his performance some how I guess,” another joked.

The moment – as well as peoples’ reactions – inevitably reached the ears of Boone himself, who later took to Instagram in order to share an apology for rearranging his meat and two veg.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the 22-year-old shared a snap of his best ‘Handsome Squidward’ impression alongside the following statement: “Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight that thing was extremely restricting in certain areas.”

Which is fair enough, as no one enjoys a wedgie or uncomfortably tight pants, but maybe he could’ve turned away from the cameras before sorting himself out.

However, the skintight jumpsuit didn’t win ‘Most uncomfortable looking outfit of the night’ as that honour went to Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori and her invisible dress – or Jaden Smith wearing an actual house on his head, depending on who you ask.

Oh, and that wasn’t just for the red carpet either as he was actually photographed wearing it inside the venue as well. Take your pick.

First trailer for new Final Destination movie shows one of the grimmest deaths in the franchise

First trailer for new Final Destination movie shows one of the grimmest deaths in the franchise

They’re kicking things up a notch

The movie releases in cinemas on 16 May, so there’s still quite a way to wait before you can get your bum in the theatre seat and watch a bunch of people meet a grisly end.

That’s really what you’re here for with a Final Destination movie isn’t it? In that regard the first trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines doesn’t disappoint.

If you had any doubts about the franchise and its penchant for absurd deaths, the trailer show us perhaps the world’s unluckiest tattoo artist being strung up to the ceiling fan by a chain and then set on fire.

Who would have thought that hanging a bunch of chains from the ceiling so they snag on the fan, then hook onto your nose ring right about the time the building is set on fire by a rather contrived series of events is the way you’d go?

That’s just one of the presumably many deaths that lay in store for Final Destination fans who want to see the movie, as those who’ve seen the trailer had admitted they got ‘childhood trauma’ from watching them.

Despite a whole load of people talking about how the earlier movies scarred them for life there were plenty declaring that despite their fears they’d be ‘watching this no matter how bad the reviews’ are.

Someone else commented ‘damn this looks sick’, and we’ve got no idea which sense of the phrase they mean that in because really either could apply.

Meanwhile, another trailer viewer said ‘they cooking good’, and by the look of the poor chap in the scene we were shown there was certainly some cooking going on.

You may be wondering how he ended up in this situation, the answer is that it's a Final Destination movie. (Warner Bros)

While the franchise has shown us some very improbable deaths over the years there is one way which you’re more likely to fall prey to than others.

If you’re going to go the way of a Final Destination character then statistically it’s probably because you caught a ladder in the eye like Evan Lewis.

After that, being cut in half by a chain link fence is the next most likely fate to befall you, but really the deaths the poor collection of characters we see up for the chop in these films is very unlikely to befall you.

Still, if you are a tattoo artist who likes dangling chains right next to your ceiling fan you may want to be careful.

Ricky Gervais is ‘going to get a slap from Will Smith’ over brutal comment about Jada and son Jaden

Jaden Smith, 26, wore a £3,700 castle on his head at the 2025 Grammy Awards

Fans think Ricky Gervais is ‘going to get a slap from Will Smith’ after he made a savage comment about Jada and her son Jaden.

While not quite as out-there as Bianca Censori’s red carpet fit, Jaden, 26, was seen wearing a £3,700 castle on his head at the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier today (3 February).

The rest of Jaden’s get-up was made up of a black Louis Vuitton suit, though the most eye-catching piece was, without a doubt, the castle hat.

The hat, made by Abodi Transylvania, is apparently a ‘bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori’.

Designed by Dora Abodi, the fit has been described as a symbol of eternity, sensuality, and resilience.

“And they say famous people are just attention seekers…” X user Matt Sibson tweeted in response to the look, as The Office star, 63, replied in the comments: “Maybe he’s bald like his mum.”

What did Ricky Gervais mean by his comment about Jada and Jaden Smith?

The Academy Award winner lost his s**t when the comedian joked about his wife Jada being bald, a result of alopecia.

Rock said: “Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see you.”

You know what happened after that.

Now, fast-forward to the Grammys on Sunday night (2 February), singer and actor Jaden appeared at the ceremony alongside his dad Will, which was the latter’s first awards show appearance after the infamous slap.

I guess Gervais’ brutal joke about ‘being bald like his mum’ now makes a little more sense.

Commenting on the quip, one person said: “You’re going to get a slap from big Will,” referencing of course what happened to Rock a couple years ago.

It seemed the British stand-up wasn’t fazed in the slightest, replying: “Can’t wait (with a smiley face emoji).”

Gervais wasn’t alone in mocking Jaden’s Grammys look, as one social media user commented: “Jaden Smith is a 26-year-old man, this is what he wore to the Grammys tonight. Stop calling it art, stupidity must be mocked.”

“Somehow Jaden Smith’s outfit is worse than Bianca Censori’s,” another viewer wrote, referencing the fact that Kanye West’s wife turned up almost-naked.

The Australian model showed up in a fur coat, taking it off to reveal a seriously see-through dress.

She left nothing to the imagination, as Kanye shared a now-deleted statement on Instagram, which read: “Custom Couture Grammy dress for the most beautiful ever.

“My love, my best friend and my wife.”

Max Armstrong’s meal ended up costing him his legs

A man has told of his horror after what he thought was a ‘minor’ burn on his thumb led to him losing both of his legs.

Max Armstrong spent six days in a coma following the near-fatal incident he had while camping with his pals in Kiowa, Colorado, back in December.

The 40-year-old had headed out into the wilderness for a week with his friends for a fun outdoor getaway when he burnt his thumb while cooking pasta for dinner.

“I grabbed a skillet wrong and my thumb touched the hot part,” Armstrong explained. “I could feel it burning as I moved it to the table, but I didn’t want to drop it.

“I didn’t think much of it as I have gotten burns, scrapes and cuts from living in the outdoors and being outdoors my whole life.”

After finishing up cooking, he then cleaned his wound before bandaging it up – but a couple of days later, Armstrong began to notice that one of his legs ‘started to swell up’.

He initially brushed it off as he didn’t think the pain was that ‘significant’ at the time, and he believed he might have unknowingly ‘hurt his ankle at some point’.

However, by 7 December he was ready to pack up his tent and call it a day.

“I decided to head home and my buddy suggested we go to the hospital,” the outdoors lover said. “At that point, my toenails started turning purple and the swelling had increased.”

Baffled as to why his lower limbs were swelling up, Armstrong headed to the AdventHealth Parker hospital.

“At this point, the burn on my thumb had become pretty ugly, it had turned black and looked like it was eating away at my thumb,” the adventurer said.

As he sat down to discuss his bizarre symptoms with doctors, the business owner explained that his eyes began ‘rolling back in his head’ while he started ‘talking nonsense’.

Medics then realised that strep A bacteria had infiltrated the burn on his thumb and had quickly developed into sepsis – which can be life-threatening if it is not treated properly.

Armstrong was then transported to AdventHealth Porter, which had facilities better suited to his needs, before doctors placed him into an induced coma for six days.

His loved ones were told to prepare for the worst, but miraculously, Armstrong regained consciousness on 13 December.

“Everyone was very happy to see me,” he said. “The doctors told them that I might not make it, there was a lot of concern that I would never wake up.

“My family was extremely happy, I could hear them cheering and then the nurses came in and started cleaning me up.”

But the mood of elation quickly disintegrated when Armstrong noticed that his feet were both ‘completely black’, while doctors informed him they would need to amputate his limbs.

He explained that while he was in the coma, the sepsis had completely eaten away at his feet and had started spreading to his legs – meaning it was impossible for them to be saved.

So, on 23 December, Armstrong underwent a three-hour procedure to amputate both of his legs before spending a month recovering in hospital.

Speaking of the moment he roused after the surgery, he said: “Initially when I woke up, I thought my legs were still there and then I came to realise that they weren’t.

“I felt down my leg and realised that my legs weren’t there, I asked the nurse and she confirmed that I had my legs amputated.

“She told me that my family was waiting for me and kept on reminding me of them which anchored me.”

With this motivation, Armstrong then left the hospital on 14 January to attend the Sky Ridge Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic in Colorado, where he spent another 16 days.

He will now have to rely on a wheelchair for the rest of his life – but is keen to become a pro at triceps and shoulder exercises which will help with his mobility, describing them as his ‘lifeline’.

“It was a hunting trip with friends that turned into a bit of a nightmare,” Armstrong said of his ordeal. “Sadly, dinner was enough for the burn to get strep A.”
